Desiderium

With the overturn of Roe v. Wade, I’m conflicted about continuing Desiderium at all.

There’s going to be spoilers in this post, but - again - really conflicted about continuing the story.

Abortion and bodily autonomy are factors in both Thea and Noth’s stories. With the direction the US is heading and the exhaustion of terrible news cycles, this particular story takes its toll on me.

So, if you’re curious where it was planning to head, read under the cut.

For Thea, she is living at a “reformation home” for women and girls. She got sent there, because she did try to terminate her pregnancy. Being sent to the home, Thea is kept locked in an attic - alone except for her growing pregnancy - for months until she comes to term, wherein her newborn is taken from her against her will.

She’s told the child is adopted out, but there’s little evidence of that. There’s a real concern that Auntie and the Uncles just killed the child.

Part of the remaining story was about her dealing with the conflict of wanting to reunite with the child and attempting to even find the child.

For Noth, his mother had been raped by a squadron of humans the night the war between humans and orcs ended in the area. She tried roundabout ways to terminate the pregnancy - excessive drinking, fighting, etc - none of which worked. He lives a conflicted life with part of his clan supporting him and part of them hating what he represents.

The rest of his remaining story entails him invoking an orcish ritual, wherein he’d track down her enemies - her rapists - and bring their heads to her. (Very dated ritual.)

Noth and Thea would travel together, aiding in both endeavors when they could. (Though most of the planned story revolves around Noth’s story until they found leads on Thea’s kid.)

I just don’t know if I should or can finish this story.

i was cuddling with my boyfriend last night when his shoulder started tensing up (like he was readjusting or gently pushing me off) and when i asked him if he was okay or needed me to move or something he went “no you’re fine, i was just imagining myself pulling a large rope. i didn’t even realize my shoulder was doing that lmao” then refused to elaborate and i have never been as attracted to him as i was in that moment.

Reblog the fundraisers you mfs!!!!! I don't know why you all skip those to reblog some pic of a banner saying "FREE PALESTINE" or of news from Columbia University! Literally these people from Gaza have made an account on Tumblr and is writing in english to communicate what they need and you all are coming onto my blog or on the tag and not reblogging their posts. We have people both Palestinian and non Palestinian vetting the fundraisers! I mean more the reblogs, more the chance of the fundraisers gaining momemtum, the more there would be a chance of a donation. Please donate if you can and reblog!!! and follow them if it is possible.

@/mohammedayesh has posted about getting leaflets, telling them to evacuate Rafah. They are very low on funds. Go follow them and reblog their posts and donate if possible.

We have @/haneenatya too whose mother is suffering from eye stroke and need to evacuate. Please I have been following them for some days and it doesn't seem their own posts are getting much attention.

Follow them! They are on tumblr. Reblog their posts and donate. The protests in universities are being done on account of them. They should be our focus.

(EDIT: on re-reading my post it seems as if I am dismissing all that the students of universities are doing. I am not. I just meant, since all of it is to help Palestinians, we must not ignore them when they ask for help).
