Day #14!!

I made it to the end of my self imposed art challenge. Since graduating and starting work full-time, art has really been hard for the past couple years. This is the most drawings I've completed in what feels like ages. I would have never guessed a Jurassic Park cartoon is what would motivate me to get back into art but I am so grateful 🥲

I was kinda always afraid that Ben's Mom could have been Claire's assistant. You know that one that was just trying to do her job and was horrible killed in the first Jurassic World movie.

The Survivors of Nublar

He estado trabajando en los diseños de cómo se verían los campistas en ARK, en mi fanfic "Survivors of Nublar".

En el próximo capítulo habrá un salto de unos años al futuro y se supone que este será el aspecto de los protagonistas de ahí en adelante, por eso algunos han pegado un pequeño estirón XD. Traté de hacer un punto intermedio entre sus outfit en la serie y las armaduras y ropas de ARK, para Brooklyn hice dos diseños pero el segundo tenía spoilers y no me di cuenta, así que lo corté, pero os lo enseñaré más adelante.

I've been working on the designs of what the campers would look like in ARK, in my fanfic "Survivors of Nublar".

In the next chapter there will be a jump a few years into the future and this is supposed to be the appearance of the protagonists from then on, that's why some have hit a small growth spurt XD. I tried to make an intermediate point between their outfits in the series and the ARK armor and clothes, for Brooklyn I made two designs but the second one had spoilers and I didn't realize it, so I cut it up, but I'll show you later.

kenji: if i didn’t know better, i’d say you were impressed

CAMP FAM | Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous : Hidden Adventure

David in S2 EP4 of Hilda is just Ben from Camp Cretaceous if Ben found a magic medallion on Isla Nublar that induced his radical character development.

For context, David in this episode came into contact with two viking tribes that were fighting over a medallion that caused whoever touched it to have no fear.

How do I know? Don't worry about it, I just do.

I will be forever in awe of character-building in jwcc. Like yes, some characters (*coughs* kenji s4) sometimes felt a little bit flat but generally speaking? At the beginning of season 1 we had 6 campers who didn’t know how to get along and had no idea how to cope with the idea of possibly being stuck on an abandoned island forever. Meanwhile in season 5 they consciously make a decision to stay behind (when Daniel Kon leaves the island) because given the choice it’s their best option. Like, sure, even if Brandon-Dave-Roxie crew wouldn’t arrive, I’m sure that the campers would try to leave but still. By the end of season 5 the campers are so freaking strong? They know what they are capable of, they are smart, they are resourceful, they stay loyal to their beliefs (even if it means giving up on getting to the Main Land), they can work together and outsmart not only dinosaurs but also people. 

They’ve grown so much? perhaps this is the biggest characters’ growth in the entire franchise because, mind you, they are just kids and all of that. Their arguments, their moral dilemmas, their problems – they had to solve on their own.

And this is what makes this series so good – sometimes the plot is a little bit meh, sometimes the villains feel a little bit overly cartoonish (I mean, it’s a cartoon but yk) but in the end, most of us watched this show for the campers. Because their journey, both in the physical and psychological sense, is extremely engaging and thrilling.

i was thinking “i hope the new jurassic world show will be as good as jwcc”

but no. how would it be? no piece of fiction could ever make me care about its characters more than i care about the camp fam. and that’s not just because they’re really good characters, it’s because it’s built into the show’s dna. this show, because of its concept, forces the six to interact solely with each other and it just makes them so much closer and their relationships that much more believable.

so yeah i’m sure the new show will be good but like
