Partially because, yes, it makes more sense, but also. He's a nuclear physicist in 1955. He would have been finishing his graduate degree at Caltech in the 1930s, at the same time that Richard Chace Tolman (of Tolman's Paradox fame) was a professor there. Do you know one of the big questions physicists were seriously throwing around during that point in time? You can't tell me that Doc wasn't already thinking constantly about how to make time travel work -- with his colleagues before he became more of a recluse, and then later on his own time -- considering it was one of the biggest questions in theoretical physics (and I imagine his interests always swung pretty heavily that direction given, well. Doc).

So like. Obviously it's comedic. The Back to the Future movies are comedies. But also. Love to think about time travel as an idea he was toying around with ever since he was young that then one day landed on his doorstep in the form of a very bewildered teenager.

no one asked for my hottest take but here it is: if you really believe in bodily autonomy, then we have to create a society where people can have as many babies as they want to, no matter what their personal circumstances are, without being considered irresponsible! we need to ensure that every child is provided for by the community. we need to invest in universal childcare, healthcare, housing, and education, and we all need to take responsibility for the safety of every child in our community. making babies is just a neutral thing that our bodies do, and everyone should be able to do it and be supported in it unconditionally, just the same as if they choose contraception or abortion!

How do you think Jack reacted to suddenly being a LOT more sleepy, post-grace depletion in the beginning of season 14?

defos hated it, it’s a sudden extreme change that he was beyond unprepared for and it came with almost every other experience changing too. his sense of taste, his strength, not 2 mention I personally think that any angel losing their grace is probably the equivalent of a limb loss . also I think it’s actually stated on his wiki page that he’s notably more reserved and quiet around s14’s start than the last season, and for me that reads very much as both PTSD and an autistic shutdown (an internal meltdown basically) and seeing as I go through those very frequently it’s very . Relatable I guess. Not good at words rn (am experiencing one currently)
