it actually fucks with me how katarina's aloofness is more of a shield to keep people at bay than anything else, because she knows, at her core, like any other fiend she has strong impulses to be outright cruel, evil and malicious to the people around her, and has to be constantly policing herself not to do that. her alignment is lawful evil- it's been so since she was born, drifting towards more neutral ground as she ages, but she isn't an ascended being, she's not good by any means, she's still very much a fiend. the only difference is that because she never met her dad, and her mom, a human sorcerer, was her primary caretaker, she managed to instill values on katarina that work sort of like a metaphorical leash (i.e i really want to do this thing , and it feels good and it feels right , but i know it isn't) allowing her to use a the more logical part of her brain that absorbed that knowledge to dictate her actions rather than running purely on emotion alone.

The bedtime cleaning spoons are back.

Picked up dog toys which became clear packages and ended with vacuuming all exposed floors.

Did a few 5 minutes or less tasks earlier using my Picker Wheel thing from earlier this week.

Microwave, exterior of fridge+ obviously bad food, dusted a fan, some laundry, took trash to the dumpster, and cleared a side table.

Also dealt with a helicopter horse owner, who is panicking about her horse's weight. The horse is fine, just an anxious show type who spent the summer learning to be a real horse.

Also there's the fun thing I've been dealing with lately where sometimes you actually DON'T have the energy to do low effort low stakes hobbies. I love drawing, making jewelry, I just started watching Haikyuu and adore it so far, but most days lately I have had the energy to... lay in bed. Play a mobile game. It's a real mindfuck when you can't even do the video games and crafts and TV watching you want to, especially because people get... weird about it, I think.

Sometimes it feels like people want to imagine I'm on some long extended vacation where I just get to lay around and be lazy and do whatever fun stuff I want. It feels like they dont really understand that this SUCKS, actually. I would love to be pursuing my hobbies and interests rn! But there's so much that feels impossible to do when its like... how am I supposed to do tedious things I wish I didn't have to, like shower or eat, when I can't even bring myself to do the fun, exciting, fulfilling, or relaxing things? The things that "should" make me happy? And how in the ever loving hell am I ever meant to have a Real Job when this is my reality?

And as mentioned above, it gets a little difficult trying to sit through people's... well-meaning advice about what kind of job or career I "should" go into or try when I KNOW that I wouldn't be able to do what they suggest, and the consequences for even trying it would be personally disastrous. Everything seems to contain some element of "I can't do that" which people tend to interpret as some kind of defeatist or pessimistic attitude, when in reality it's an assessment of my limitations and what I'm capable of handling. Again, the amount of effort/energy required to Work far far exceeds those limitations, especially considering how much time I spend where the amount required for Leisure already exceeds them. It feels like this concept is just. Incomprehensible to most people, and so rather than trying to actually empathize and understand, they default to what they were taught as kids.

"If you're too sick to work, you're too sick to play." It's such bullshit.

Kinda wild how most people generally recognize that the "too sick to go to school, too sick to watch tv/play games" mindset our parents had was bullshit but still impose essentially the exact same rules on disabled adults and scrutinize them for enjoying low-energy hobbies while being too fatigued or in pain to work a full time job (or any job at all)

Damian has a brother, except said brother wasn't trained for combat operations. He was trained in the administration positions needed to keep the empire Ra's built functioning.

In essence, Damian was trained to rule, and Daniel was taught to manage the estate. This does not mean Daniel can't fight because Ra would never have a regular civilian lurking around; he just wasn't physically trained as harshly.

While Damian was climbing a mountain with a broken arm at five years old, Daniel was handed account logs of failing businesses that he needed to get out of the red or else at the same age. While Damian was slashing opponents, Daniel was told to sniff out the planted traitors in the staff.

While Damian was grinding his teeth against the senses-deprivation training, Daniel was bearing his teeth in a smile as he convinced local rulers to sign over their properties to Ra without bloodshed.

Daniel was raised in this role not because he was born five minutes after his brother or because he didn't show combat talent. On the night of the twin's first birthday, Ra had a well-known magic user do a soul test on the children.

He had all of his descendants participate in said test, and they rarely came out with traits that made them possible heirs. Talia, along with her sister Nyssa, was one of the few among his children who resulted in the green glow.

Many of his children were white glows—talented in the mind rather than in the body like Daniel. Once Ra saw the white aura around Daniel, he had tutors set up for estate management. One step above servant of the family.

He was just about to doom Damian to the same fate, effectively cutting them from the line of succession until the eldest started glowing green.

His green was much more vibrant than Talia's, as she was just the lowest shade of green, right above white, which was why he had not made it clear who the inheritance would go to. Nyssa had also been a light shade, balanced with Talia's.

But Damian? His was a bright emerald, the shade of green he hadn't seen in almost seven hundred years. Ra knew the boy would be grand when he aged.

Then, one day, his daughter ran off with his heir. Taking the boy to his father prematurely because she had discovered that Ra would use his body to preserve his immortality. She had left behind Daniel, viewing her youngest the same way all green souls kin viewed white soul kin.

Damian was raised knowing that he would one day inherit everything Ra had to offer as the Heir Apparent, and Daniel was to be his most trusted right-hand man. He was meant to be a helpful tool Damian could wield.

Daniel, however, did outshine the rest of white souls. He was a master manipulator, a snake hiding in the grass, able to convince anyone of anything. He never saw a line too immoral to cross if it was beneficial for the Ghul ruling family. He even convinced Ra's to ease off many punishments for Damian with a few soft spoken words and gentle movements.

Ra's could admit that Daniel was terror in an entirely different way than his brother. His loyalty, however, was never in doubt.

In her mind, he was a servant and not worth the risk of getting him to the Detective. Ra saw no reason why he couldn't use that against her.

He had his men whip the boy's memories, set him up in an American home with a couple that owed him a favor for using his Lazarus Pit to study the undead, and sat back. Daniel would live as Danny Fenton, thinking he had been a member of that family since birth, unaware of the sleeper agent he was.

Ra faked his death, amused by the Detective's wails upon finding the trails, and waited until Damian grew soft enough from his father's foolish sentiments to throw his dead brother's fate back into his face. He allowed Daniel to be Danny Fenton for four whole years before activating the boy to kill Damian.

The last thing the runaway heir would ever see was the smile of his silver tongue brother, whom he left for dead. The twin with a sharp mind that even Timothy Drake could not predict. The one that Bruce Wayne would hesitate to kill, unlike the clones he attempted to send before.

He did not account for Daniel developing a second personality known as Phantom. He took all the sleeper agent training and somehow twisted the boy's ghostly part into thinking he was Damian's dead brother.

It was a glorious plan meant to shatter their minds as much as their bones.

Before he could activate Daniel to complete his four year old mission, the fool wandered into an experimental protal. It did not kill him, but it made some.....side effects.

Ra's waited a week to see if anything would come of Daniel's accident, but when no evidence indicated any change, he had his ninjas active, the sleeper agent.

That he had actually died that day.

Phantom did not know he lived in Fenton. Fenton was unaware that his "fainting" spills were his body, giving control to the assassin's support stored away in his mind.

Worst Phantom seemed utterly convinced that since Damian was running around as Robin, a hero of the innocent, he should too. He set out to protect the silly American town Ra's had planted him in, and then, he began managing the damn thing.

He caused the unemployment rate to drop in Amity Park, worked on getting the neighbor's company up, sweet-talked the local landlords to lower rates, and got the Americans to take their education seriously enough that every graduating student of his high school received at least two scholarships. He covered the property damages his battles caused by convincing the people they were responsible.

Ra's had trained that silver tongue had sharpened that devilish mind, and it was being wasted on the Detective's sensibilities. At least Phantom had convinced the entire town to be ecto-mindful.

It nearly made up for the ghost finding his way to Gotham. Fenton and his class won some kind of competition hosted by the Detective for all high schools in the nation. It was some idiotic science experiment, but once Phantom was there, the ghost fell into his support role of Robin like a duck did to water.

Wayne Enterprises' stock value skyrocketed when Phantom pretended to work for them, turning his silver tongue on the belly of Gotham and carefully breaking every crime origination with a smile. Fenton himself grew the eye of the Detective for being the leading mind of the experiment, and Ra knew it was only a matter of time before his son-in-law pieced it all together.

The boy would forever be out of his reach, and he only had himself to blame. He should have killed the white soul kin years ago.

My concepts for the development progress of an Iterators Puppet

-Feasibility Study  

[1]: First autonomous control module, any instruction to be given must be done manually through physical means (the keys), outputs were shown through the screen. A very primitive system, however, did its job proving the greater machine concept was achievable. While it does look like a lens above the monitor, this was a simple status gauge for benchmarking.

-Prototyping and Development  

[2]: Now with the capability to wirelessly and audibly communicate to receive instructions and inputs. The system was no longer directly integrated into the facility, and resided on the first instance of an iterator's arm. This was considered a feat due to the complications with isolating the control module from the rest of the iterators components, while keeping processing power. A permanent connection/umbilical was needed to sustain life and function though. 

To “talk” back, they were crafted with multidimensional projectors, the mobile arm allowing the angles and variance for this projection. Only later into development were advanced speakers installed for optimized understanding, however the extra computing power required to synthesize proper speech was found to strain the contained module, so this function had rare use in the end.

[3]: At this point there was a change in perspective in the project. What once were machines to simply compute and simulate, were now planned to be the home, caregiver, and providers. The further the project came to fruition the more religious importance was placed upon these “random gods”. From this stance not only did the puppets have to manage and control their facilities, they had to communicate with the people and priests. To represent benevolent beings who will bring their end and salvation. In this process iterators began to take a more humanoid shape, to better reflect their parents. Development was focused on compacting the puppet closer to the size of an ancient for this purpose. This stage was the first to incorporate a cloak/clothing into their design considerations, to further akin themselves in looks. The cloak would hide the iterators' engineered bodies and give a body to their silhouette. 

[4]: As bioengineering and mechanics were rapidly progressing due to the void fluid revolution, this allowed plenty of margin for developing the outer design of the iterator puppets. This prototype was the first to incorporate limbs for the purpose of body language. This was another step in the drive to give a body to their random gods.

-Final Iterations

[5]: First generation iterators had the final redesign of puppet bodies. Far different from their first designs, they are fully humanoid. Their bodies are shaped to be organic and as full of life as they could at the time. Their center of sapience has fully settled within their body, as can be seen as their unconscious use of limbs without the direct intention for communication. This can also see how they manage their work, where many of the functions (which can be done with just an internal request) are operated through physical gestures of their limbs. Their puppet chambers also allow for full comprehensive projection, where many of their working monitors are displayed. It is seen how iterators prefer to utilize their traversal arm to transfer between the current working projection window.

These designs were hardy and nearly self-sufficient, only requiring minimal power from their umbilical to charge. (However was still limited in the terms of internal power production, for this first generation extensive batteries sufficed)

[6]: Later generation not only incorporated advanced bioengineering internally, but externally. While still a hardened shell, their body plates have been incorporated into the organics of the puppet, maintaining the protective requirements while barely leaving a trace of hinges or plates. This “soft” skin had drawbacks, such as reduced durability to the first generations, this was offset by the greatly enhanced repair speeds and capability this type of skin allowed.

Internal power generation was implemented into these late generation models. If the case arose, the Puppet could be disconnected from their umbilical and still be conscious from an undefined period of time. (However this would limit the operating capacity of the puppet when running self sufficiently) This greatly eased maintenance works, as the Puppet could still run the greater facility wirelessly while work was done on the chamber, arm or whatever as needed.
