𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, paige sinclair is an aspiring psychologist who wants nothing more than to help as many people as she can. In her early teenagehood she wished to be an idol, someone who was seemingly larger than life, she tried being popular by attempting to socialize and masquerading a bad girl front which just led to her having a breakdown at one of steve harringtons parties. Steve caught her and to her surprise he comforted her instead of being a jerk. eventually, paige and steve became close friends. because of his positive influence, she eventually realized that being popular isn't a priority nor something that really matters.
paige and steve were each other's only true friend until strange things started happening in hawkins, starting with the disappearance of will byers. unexpectedly, the two went from ordinary high school kids to simultaneously babysitting and beating the shit out of dimensional monsters on school nights.
because of paige's mature and empathetic attitude, the kids feel safe with her and often ask her for advice, especially lucas, who told her about his crush on max and of course, askes for relationship advice, jane, who had doubts about if mike really loved her, and will, who has confided in her about being gay and in love with mike. (she had a lot to think about that night.)

Prologue . . . Chapter Eight
Chapter Nine
Chrissy didn't have to tell Eddie that she wanted some space. He just started distancing himself from her as well. Ronnie let it slip that it had probably had something to do with the fact that Higgins said something to him on Thursday after the fight, a fight that Chrissy had missed because she had been sick. Apparently, Jason and Tommy Hayes had been beating up Gareth for his lunch money, which was another cliche that Chrissy hated more than the rain. Eddie tried to stop them, but what he got was them knocking him around and him getting called to the principals' office while the actual assholes got away with it.
"What the hell did he say to him?" Chrissy asked.
They were leaning against Chrissy's locker that following Monday. Eddie had been nowhere in sight that morning.
"I don't know, but he probably somehow made it feel like it was all Eddie's fault. That asshole gets into Eddie's head, and despite what I tell him, it's hard to shake off," Ronnie said.
"He is an asshole," Chrissy frowned. "I wish there was something that I could do for Eddie."
"I don't think there's anything we can do except make sure Eddie knows that we're here for him and we're not going anywhere," Ronnie said. "If anyone can make him believe in himself, it's you."
God, Chrissy wanted to laugh. She leaned her head against the locker.
"I just told myself that I needed some time away from," Chrissy frowned.
"Hmm, maybe he could use some space too, to realize what he could lose," Ronnie said and paused, her face twisted as if there was something eating at her.
"What? Is there something else you're not telling me?" Chrissy asked.
"Well, the thing with Paige, the girl from the bar, is a lot more serious than we thought," Ronnie said.
"They're together?" She asked.
"I don't know, but he showed up at practice on Saturday with the girl, and apparently, she works at WR Records in Los Angeles. Eddie thinks she can sign us, but we need to record a demo to send in," Ronnie said with a sigh. "I have my doubts, though."
"Do you think she's leading him on?" Chrissy asked.
"I don't know, I don't think so. She's got stars in her eyes as much as Eddie does. I think they might both be using each other," she replied. "I think Higgins must have said something to make Eddie want to leave town. It's bad enough that people hate him because of his father. It's always been a sensitive topic for him."
Chrissy frowned at the thought of Eddie getting into trouble because he was trying to prove to people he wasn't what they said he was.
"Did you guys agree to making a demo?" Chrissy asked.
"Yeah, I don't know how we're going to get the money to record the demo, but Eddie says not to worry about it," She said. "Which is odd timing considering that his dad rolled back into town."
"His dad came back?" Chrissy asked.
"Yeah, Al is a notorious conman, which is probably why Officer Moore hates him so much," Ronnie said.
"Did he say where he was?" Chrissy asked.
"Eddie thinks he was in prison up in Joliet. I have no idea for what, though," she replied. "Dougie, Stan, and Jeff are excited about it. It all smells fishy to me, though, but I guess it's better to be there in case something goes wrong."
"You think Al has something up his sleeve?" Chrissy asked.
"Yeah, and I think he's definitely going to involve Eddie in his stupid scheme, but Eddie never could listen to me, his uncle, or anyone really when it came to his father except when he's being compared to Al," she said.
"Maybe there's a part of Eddie who wants to believe that Al cares about him and wants to be a part of his life," Chrissy said softly.
"Maybe," Ronnie said softly.
And as much as she had tried over the past weekend to put Eddie out of her mind, he was all she could think about. There was this pit in her stomach as she thought about what Eddie might do because he thought he needed to run away. How far was Eddie willing to go to escape? She wondered if she could go to Hop, but then she thought about what he could possibly do. It was all just speculation. There wasn't anything she could do either. It was his choice to make, but maybe she could, at least, try to talk some sense into him. When she arrived at the lunch table, it was void of Hellfire.
"Oh, yeah, they decided to remain at the Hellfire table indefinitely," Robin said.
"Which I don't understand, did we do something?" Steve asked.
"No, I think Higgins got into his head," Chrissy said.
"Asshole," Steve, Robin, and Nancy said.
"Where's Jonathan?" Chrissy asked.
"He said he wanted to spend the lunch period talking to Argyle," Steve said.
"And I told him you can't exactly eat a conversation," Robin said. "Which he didn't find very funny."
"No one did, Robin," Steve replied.
Robin glared at him before throwing a pretzel at him. He caught it in his mouth proudly, and then they started throwing pretzels in their mouths.
"Does this mean we're not going to the Hideout anymore?" Robin asked. "I mean, that would suck for Eddie, you know, since we're his friends and all."
"Just say you want to see Ronnie," Steve said.
"Am I that obvious?" Robin asked.
"Yes," Steve, Nancy, and Chrissy said.
"No need to say it in unison," Robin pouted.
The next evening, they all went to the Hideout. Eddie didn't even look at her, his eyes on Paige. Chrissy tried to get Eddie to talk to her after the set, but it was the other girl who drew her attention. Chrissy rolled her eyes as she slid into a booth with Ronnie, Robin, Steve, and Nancy. Ronnie was placing her corduroy ball cap on Robin's head, tucking a piece of hair behind Robin's ear.
"Looks cuter on you than it does on me," Ronnie said.
"Yeah?" Robin asked with a snort.
"Definitely," Ronnie said.
Robin blushed and looked down at the table. Chrissy forgot about her problem for a moment as she watched them flirt. She shared a look with Steve and Nancy. Of course, Eddie was still oblivious that his best friend was falling for a woman. Chrissy wondered if Ronnie even knew about herself. She did say she didn't think she would ever have a crush on anyone. Maybe she wasn't aware of her attraction toward women, but as Chrissy watched Ronnie gaze at Robin, maybe she was starting to realize it. She only hoped that Eddie would pull his head out of his own situation long enough to be there for his best friend.
The next day was another day without a sighting of Eddie, another day without him leaning against her locker. Chrissy was grumpy the entire day, and when her free period came, Chrissy went to the library again to sketch in her notebook again. She was scribbling furiously when she was yanked out of her chair. Chrissy nearly yelped until she saw that it was Ronnie. Chrissy quickly grabbed her stuff and let Ronnie pull her into one of the empty rooms in the library. She watched as the other girl paced before closing the blinds, and she invaded Chrissy's space, leaning over her. Suddenly, Chrissy was very aware that Ronnie was taller than her, reminding her that she was taller than both Eddie and Robin.
"How did you realize that you also liked women?" Ronnie asked in a hushed whisper.
"Well, I was having a conversation with my friend and her cousin when I realized that not everyone noticed men and women the way that I do," Chrissy said. "I mean, I had an inkling for a while, but I thought that I had to choose one or the other."
"I just - I never gave men a thought, I just assumed that meant I wasn't attracted to anyone, but maybe it's because I was ignoring my attraction to women," Ronnie said. "Am I a lesbian?"
"I don't know. Is that a word you feel suits you?" Chrissy asked softly.
"Yeah, it feels right," Ronnie said with tears in her eyes. "Why am I crying?"
"Because it can be pretty overwhelming when you come to terms with yourself," Chrissy said.
Ronnie hugged Chrissy tightly. She smiled as she pulled back.
"You're probably wondering - "
"Robin?" Chrissy asked with a teasing grin.
"Damn it. Was I that obvious?" Ronnie asked with a laugh.
"Yeah. Are you going to tell her?" Chrissy asked.
"Give me a chance to breathe, Henderson," Ronnie laughed. "But yeah, eventually."
Well, she couldn't figure out her own relationship. She could at least help someone else out with theirs. She still didn't see Eddie all day, and when she walked out onto the parking lot when school ended, she found Ronnie standing there staring as Eddie's van drove away. Chrissy walked over to her.
"He's not driving you home?" She asked.
"Nope, apparently, he's got somewhere he needs to be," Ronnie said.
"Something to do with his father?" Chrissy asked.
"More than likely," Ronnie replied.
"He's determined to make our hair go gray early, isn't he?" Chrissy asked.
"And fall out," Ronnie said.
"We have an extra seat since my brother will be biking home with his party," she said. "You want a ride?"
"Will Steve mind?" She asked.
"Let's ask," Chrissy grinned.
Of course, Steve couldn't say no to the girl his best friend was pining over. Ronnie slid in the middle seat, right next to Robin, while Chrissy slid in beside her.
"Hi," Ronnie said to Robin.
"Hi," Robin replied, her cheeks red.
"Hi."
"Hi."
"Hi!" Chrissy said cheerfully.
"I swear I know more words," Robin muttered and Ronnie laughed.
"Me too," Ronnie blushed.
The rest of the ride to Ronnie's trailer was quiet with Ronnie and Robin exchanging glances every so often. Once they arrived, Robin opened the door to get out but was stopped suddenly when Ronnie climbed over her, practically straddling her lap for a millisecond before getting out.
"I, uh, would have gotten out," Robin said as Chrissy handed Ronnie her things.
"I know," she said softly. "See you tomorrow?"
"Yeah," Robin said.
Ronnie closed the door, waved at Steve in thanks, and went inside. Steve drove away while Robin face planted onto the middle seat.
"Are you okay, Robin?" Steve laughed.
"My heart is beating so loudly. Can you guys hear it?" Robin asked, her voice muffled.
"No," Nancy giggled at her sister. "You've got it so bad."
"Shut it, Nance," Robin said.
"It's so cute," Chrissy giggled and poked Robin in the side.
She was happy for her friends' developing relationship, and she really tried hard not to feel sour about her slowly fading relationship with Eddie. It was hard when he wouldn't talk to her, and he would quickly leave whenever she tried to approach him. It was disheartening, to say the least. After trying all week, Chrissy finally gave up, hoping that Eddie would make the decision to come to her. Finally, it was the weekend, and Chrissy was over at the Wheelers. It was strange. In the past, it was usually just her and Nancy sprawled out on her bed with Barb occasionally joining them, but Robin joined them now. Nancy and Robin still fought like sisters do, but nowhere near as much as before. Not only were they sisters, they were now best friends.
"What's been going on with you and Eddie?" Robin asked. "I mean, it can't be because of whatever Higgins said."
"No, not just Higgins. His dad is also in town," Chrissy said. "Plus, I'm pretty sure Eddie is dating Paige."
"That cheater!" Robin gasped.
"Robin, we were never dating," Chrissy said.
"I mean, you and Eddie definitely have feelings for each other. Whether you guys admitted it or not, you guys were dating," Nancy said. "You had dinner at his house all the time, and sometimes that included his uncle. You danced together!"
"Well, if we didn't know we were dating, then we couldn't have known that we were exclusive," Chrissy said.
"Shit, that's true," Robin frowned. "Still, I'm calling him an idiot."
"Can we talk about something else?" Chrissy asked.
"Mike! We could talk about Mike. He's always doing something stupid," Robin said.
"What stupid thing has he done now?" Chrissy giggled.
"The little shit broke into my room, and then he had the audacity to get mad at me! Me! In my very own bedroom," Robin said.
"He's been very angry lately," Nancy said.
"Well, watching the first girl you like die to save your life probably doesn't help," Chrissy said and they all winced.
"Shit, why didn't I think about that?" Nancy asked.
"Because you've been dealing with Barb, and I've been dealing," Robin said.
"We kind of all been dealing with that, but still, as his older siblings, we should have done better," Nancy frowned.
"Maybe we can spend some time with him tomorrow," Robin said. "If he lets us."
"Well, just try not to push him too hard. He'll talk when he's ready," Chrissy said and frowned. "Dustin has been complaining about his attitude lately and that he hasn't been all that interested in playing D&D."
"Jesus, he must be in a really bad place," Robin frowned. "Should we go down there?"
"Well, they're playing right now, and I'm not looking forward to having my head chewed off by Mike for interrupting," Nancy said. "Tomorrow."
"Are you guys scared of your brother?" Chrissy asked with a giggle.
"No," Nancy and Robin scoffed.
Chrissy parted ways with them pretty soon after that. She said goodbye to Jonathan and Will on her way out before biking home with her own brother.
"The guys want to know when they can meet Eddie," Dustin said. "They think that I'm making him up and Hellfire."
"I don't know, he's been pretty busy since his dad came back," Chrissy said. "I don't know what he's even doing today."
"Did you guys have a fight?" Dustin asked.
"No," Chrissy said and then lied. "We're fine."
Chrissy kept telling herself that, all the way home. They were fine. They were going to be just fine. Chrissy wished she wasn't such a terrible liar.

What would Jacob Morty McDickface do if the l he thought Paige was cheating on him? Did he ever let his hands on her??
Hmmm, let's see what we can stir up from the world of [I'll Always Want] More.
Tumblr media
Jacob Mortimer MacDaniel is a piece of work, and without a prenup in place... I hesitate to say it's the good news regarding the situation, but - he can certainly try to play the victim but his indiscretions are well documented so he wouldn't get far with that vein. Even if he couldn't win using that angle he could succeed in embarrassing her, and the Henderson family as a whole, more than he already has.
( Granted the Hendersons did what they could to distance themselves from anything his antics might dredge up - leaving their daughter to face the consequences of her decisions made. )
Tumblr media
"You're home late, Kitty Cat."
New-Morty is awake and waiting up for her when she gets home.
Where had Jacob gone, the man that she married? The pet name that initially sent butterflies fluttering now feels like one more exhausting thing to battle. Rather than air any reminder that she asked him to call her anything else, or to remember that she had - in point of fact - asked him to attend the event with her, she maintains her posture. "Leaving was a nightmare, but it was a fun evening."
She doesn't speak the lie that gains momentum month after month after month. I wish you'd been there. Truth of the matter is she was glad he'd shrugged the invitation off. Again. Even with no solid reason why he couldn't go, not having him there was an escape, a chance to feel reconnected, a chance to feel like her old self again.
At least he was home this time. She didn't have to wait for a slurred call to alert her that he wasn't going to be home till even later than when she'd arrived. No waiting for any discreet requests to come pick him up because he'd started another fight. No waiting to have him stumbling in, smelling of cigarettes and sporting barely swiped away lipstick stains at key areas.
He does have a drink set out on the coffee table, but it's got a well-formed ring of condensation at the base. "Ha. The last one we went to was a bore."
Was it? She frowns at her hands - fingers missing the rings he's yet to schedule the appointment to get resized to actually fit. Rather than return his gaze, watch the slicing spark in his eyes, she starts to fiddle with the clasp of her bracelet in pretense for readying for bed.
The last event they'd attended together was... just before they got married? Certainly not so far back as when they met. He must've attended one or two after that?
"Where's your necklace?"
He wanted her looking at him, and found a way to make it happen. She zips her focus up as the clasp to her bracelet comes undone. She lets it fall to the floor. Rather than attempting to catch it, she reaches up to touch her bare neck. Where was her necklace, with her rings? Upstairs? Did she really not put it on?
He's holding the silence and watching her. Waiting for her answer.
With the next breath she feels - something. How she's crossed her arm to her cleavage, how the rush of panic shifting the layers of fabric sported.... There's something caught. She dips her fingers chasing the feeling of something where it shouldn't be.
Her necklace, rings trapped in the chain. "A --- link must have broken."
"Sure, Cat. Not stored for safekeeping? Out of sight, out of mind."
She shakes her head, very much not liking the look he's giving her. Unlike him she doesn't break promises made. Unlike him she doesn't cheat. "I've been meaning to take some other things by for repairs. I'll just --" The chain isn't the problem, but the clasp. She encloses the jewelry in her palm, turning to indicate a desire to end the conversation. "-- add this in, when I do. Are you coming up soon?"
"No." Jacob's expression remains anchored, just like the man himself remains seated, "Not for awhile."
"Fine. Goodnight."
It's not until she's in her closet, seated and kicking off her shoes, that she realizes the oddity of the evening. He waited for her return home, clearly having something on his mind to lead to trying to pick a fight.
Is this a new chapter getting started before they've even reached their first anniversary?

the ritual | eddie munson oneshot fanfiction
Tumblr media
synopsis: Paige has hoped to never see Eddie again, but when she finds out he's been selling drugs to her distanced friend, she sees no other solution but to confront him.
word count: 4.5k
pairing: Eddie Munson x female OC
warnings: 18+ (MINORS DNI), smut, oral sex, penetrative sex, drugs, unprotected sex, BDSM, choking
disclaimer: please keep in mind English is not my first language, feel free to point out any mistakes!
She just had to get it out of her.
Paige knew her and Chrissy were growing apart. It ached her to watch it happen, but she knew it had to go like that, that trying to stop it could only make things worse. That, however, did not mean she would suddenly be insensitive. She knew her well and one look at her, sitting in the classroom with her eyes stuck somewhere in the void was enough to say that it wasn’t just that she has changed. She knew exactly what she must have been up to. What she must have been… using. She knew the symptoms a bit too well. Something must have been wrong and even if that’s the last time she were to speak to her, she had to confront her.
The bell rang and Paige watched as Chrissy picked up all her things and left clumsily in a hurry. She stormed out of the classroom too, determined to catch her.
“Chrissy, please, talk to me!” Paige said when she finally caught up to her in the corridor, slightly out of breath.
The girl turned her head, her blonde ponytail swinging as she gave her friend a sad look.
“Please, Paige, just let me be,” Chrissy responded.
“I can see something’s wrong, Chris. I know what you’re doing. You wouldn’t be reaching for these if everything was okay…”
“How do you know? How do you know, Paige? Maybe I’m just… trying things, huh?”
“Is it because of him?” She ignored her suggestion, trying to remain calm, but her voice started to crack.
“Are you serious? You’re bringing Jason into this?”
As if saying his name out loud was some kind of spell, the athletic boy appeared from around the corner, wearing none other but his basketball team’s jacket.
“You okay, honey?” he asked, wrapping his hand around Chrissy’s waist. Paige couldn’t help but notice the slight shiver that went through her friend’s body when the boy touched her.
“Yes, baby, all good. Paige was just leaving,” Chrissy said, smiling falsely.
“Good to see you, Paige,” Jason said before pulling the girl towards him and leaving.
Paige wasn’t stupid; she knew he didn’t mean that.
Tears forming in her eyes, she left the school and sat at a bench, hiding her face in her hands. How could she help someone who didn’t want help? Or, maybe, she should ask – why did she want to help her so bad?
Deep down, she knew the answer to the second question.
She sat in the afternoon sun, trying to think. What else could she do? Could she…? No. One more possible solution came to her mind, but no. No way. She couldn’t do that. She promised herself she’d never…
She looked up to see a small group of kids in matching t-shirts. She recognised three freshmen, Wheeler, Sinclair and Henderson. The boys were chatting and laughing, heading out of the school’s side entrance. They didn’t have to come closer for her to know what their black and white t-shirts said.
Hellfire Club.
Paige took a deep breath. She really, really didn’t want to do this. She did so good avoiding him all this time and she knew this could ruin her inner peace she finally managed to achieve.
But Chrissy was leaving her no other choice.
She stood up and walked in the same direction the boys have come from. Having entered the school, she headed to an abandoned room in the basement. She knew the club used it as a meeting spot.
Praying that he was still there and trying to keep her breath steady, she stood before the door, raising her chin in order to look more confident. Doing her best to contain her shaking hands, she knocked on the door and opened it without waiting to be invited in.
“Now which one of you losers left something?” the raspy voice said.
She didn’t respond. She entered the room, scanning it with her eyes. It was cluttered with old furniture, decorated with random cardboard cut-outs. The big table in the centre was covered with a patterned cloth, On it, there were notebooks, drawings, figurines and dice. A big book laid on the furthest end of the table, right in front of a solid, wooden chair that kind of resembled a throne. The whole room was only lit with candles held by standing, gothic candleholders scattered all around the room. She thought about how long it must take to light them all.
The boy was in the back of the room, kneeling on the floor with his back to her. He was holding a guitar, tuning it, she figured. She knew he sometimes liked to bring it to school to practice if he got a free period or if he went to a band practice right after classes. Right now, he was so focused on the beloved instrument that he still hasn’t turned around.
“I said, which one of you…” he sighed, deciding to check who came in.
“Eddie,” she said finally.
The boy froze mid-turn, stroke by her voice. She still couldn’t see his face, his profile covered by his brown curls. After what felt like hours, he carefully put the guitar down and slowly rose, finally turning to face her.
His dark eyes were shimmering in the candle light as he opened them wide, staring at her.
“Paige,” he basically whispered. He blinked a few times, as if trying to snap out of it. “Didn’t know you were into dungeons and dragons,” he said, forcing his playful smile back, “could’ve told me earlier, we just finished today’s session…”
“That’s not what I’m here for,” she said as calmly as she could.
He furrowed his brow. “I thought you said you were done with it.”
“I am,” she said, “but…”
“And that you never wanted to see me again. Isn’t that what you said?” his fading smile twitched as he made his way towards her. His hand was sliding along the edges of the chairs as he walked past the table, his rings making clicking noised as they rubbed against each other. “You said it was all my fault, didn’t you? And that my face reminded you of all the fucked up shit you’ve done? Isn’t that what you said to me, Paige?”
She gulped loudly. She knew she shouldn’t have come here.
“This was a mistake,” she spitted out, turning away towards the door.
“Ah, hell no,” he said, catching her arm. She twitched as his hand squeezed her wrist, making her turn again, now standing face to face with him. His nostrils were moving fast, breathing nervously. “Tell me, then. What are you here for?”
“I shouldn’t have come.”
“But you have. Now tell me why.” The smile was nowhere to be seen now as his voice sounded demanding, eyebrows frowned in a determined look.
“It’s… it’s about Chrissy,” she let out.
“Chrissy?” he asked, genuinely surprised. His grip on her wrist loosened as he backed away a little. “What the hell do you have to do with Chrissy?”
“I’m her friend,” she said.
Why did it feel like a lie?
“Didn’t know Chrissy could be friends with anyone who’s not wearing one of those tacky cheerleading outfits twenty four seven,” he snorted.
“I know she’s been buying from you,” she said, ignoring his comment. He looked at her attentively, resting his hand on his hip.
“Is that so,” he chuckled. “Maybe she has been. I still don’t know why you’d see me about it.”
“I cannot talk any sense into her. She won’t talk to me,” she said, feeling the tears forming in her eyes again. “Something’s wrong and she’s choosing the wrong solution.”
“Sorry, love, but this still doesn’t sound like a me problem,” he leaned against one of the chairs.
“I want you to cut her off. Don’t sell her anything anymore,” she said, trying to sound as definite as possible.
It wasn’t easy keeping the straight face, though, as Eddie burst out laughing.
“Paige, the hell you on about? You think you’re gonna magically make you friend’s problems disappear if you convince her drug dealer to refuse her service?” he asked, clearly amused by the situation. “And it’s you talking, Paige. You, who couldn’t go a day without the Special K not that fucking long ago–”
“I don’t need you to remind me about my mistakes…”
“Oh, but I do, don’t I? You said it yourself back then. Just my face makes you remember,” he grinned viciously. “Do I repulse you that much, Paige? Is this the face you see in your nightmares?” he kept laughing coldly.
“Eddie, I–”
“No, no, Paige, you listen to me now,” he made his way up to her again. She started to back up, but that only resulted in him now pressing her against the door. “I’m not the fucking villain, love. I’m not the monster. I’m not forcing anything on anyone, I’m not making anyone buy shit from me, hell, I’m not even suggesting anything to anyone. I only sell if they come to me. It’s not the drugs that come first, it’s whatever messy shit she got herself into that made her believe this is what will help her. And shit, if you want to know, I did try to talk her out of it. But I’m not a fucking therapist, Paige, and I’m not her fucking mom, and fuck, it’s business for me, so of course I’m selling the fucking drugs to her! And you know what I think? I think you wanting her out so bad is just your fucked up way of dealing with your own unresolved fucking issues!”
She flinched slightly as he practically yelled in her ear. He stayed like that, each hand pressing on the door from each side of her, encasing her. He was breathing heavily, looking deep into her eyes.
“You’re right”, she said quietly.
“What?”, his voice cracked, clearly not expecting such an answer.
“Of course I shouldn’t fucking blame you. I’m… I’m desperate, Eddie. I don’t know what to do,” she looked down.
“Hey, hey, look at me” his tone has gone softer as his hand reached for her face, lifting her chin. “You can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped. You didn’t make it out because someone made you. You stopped because you wanted to. All you can do is show her that it’s worth it”, he smiled.
She took a deep breath. His smile made little creases form just above his mouth and under his eyes. The brown irises now seemed warm, comforting… how come she’s never considered his perspective?
“You know, Paige, for what it’s worth, I’m kinda glad you felt the need to confront me. I lowkey missed seeing that pretty face of yours,” he smirked.
“Did you now?” she asked, a soft smile winning over her confusion.
“Don’t get me wrong, love. I was happy for you when you came clean. I was happy to see you do better. But that little vicious devil on my shoulder wished you kept needing the stuff. Needing… me,” he said, playing with his hair, covering his little smile with it.
“You… you never said that”, she squinted her eyes suspiciously.
“Of course I didn’t. How was I supposed to tell you I’m crazy about you with that douchebag boyfriend of yours watching my every step?”
She couldn’t believe it. How has she never noticed his feelings? Noticed… him? She looked at him now, that damn little smile on his face, his hair with a gold glow thanks to the candles surrounding them, his slim fingers fidgeting with the rings. She looked deep into his dark, enchanting eyes and before she could regret it, she said:
“Well, good thing he’s not around anymore then.”
It only took a few tense seconds before Eddie leaned in and kissed her, pressing her back to the door. His hand cupped her face as she kissed him back, a wild, desperate kiss, as if they’ve been holding it for way too long.
He stopped only for a second to back up and look at her face, searching for the unspoken answer. She saw the same shock that she imagined must have been written all over her in his eyes. None of them expected this. None of them knew if it was right. But that moment, they both new it was too late to stop. Seeing his awaiting expression, she just nodded lightly.
“Fuck, Paige,” he murmured before kissing her again. She sighed as his kisses went down her cheek to her neck, to her collarbone. He bit the skin on the collarbone lightly as she put her hand in his hair, tangling her fingers between his locks. He grabbed her, turning her around and, still kissing, led towards the table.
“Maybe I would, in fact, like to try DnD,” she said as he swept the mess from the table with his hand, making the books and figurines clutter the floor, and lifted her to sit her down on it.
“Oh yeah?” he smirked, “that’s perfect timing, actually. We finished the session right as we were about to make a sacrifice.”
“A sacrifice?” she laughed as his kisses kept going down her cleavage.
“Yes, a sacrifice, to the god of war, Tempus, you know. We have a big fight ahead of us”, he said in between the kisses as he started to unbutton her shirt.
“And what were you going to sacrifice?”
“Why, a virgin, of course”, she could feel him smiling against her chest. He finished unbuttoning her shirt and took it off of her, tossing it on the floor.
“I’m afraid I won’t do then”, she smirked.
“No worries, love, that’ll be just fine”, he said as he reached to the clasp of her bra. “I think the god will forgive us. Besides, the ritual includes… well, blaspheming the victim beforehand anyway.”
Something about the way he said that made a shiver go down her body. She could feel the pressure in her abdomen as he took of her bra and made it follow the shirt to the floor.
“Eddie…Eddie, fuck, the candles,” she gasped as her eyes followed her clothing. The shirt landed way too near one of the candleholders.
“I know, it’s quite a turn on…”
“Eddie, my shirt is on fire,” she said, somehow laughing. His eyes went wide as he stopped to look in the direction where he tossed it.
“Shit! Shit, shit, shit,” he cursed, noticing the shirt was, in fact, catching fire, slowly but surely. He jumped, stepping on the shirt repetitively to make the fire go down. She just sat on the table, watching with amusement.
He picked up the shirt, now dirty and with a whole on the back.
“I… I’m gonna give you something to wear later,” he chuckled.
“Worth it, I’d say. I do really like the candles,” she smiled.
“Very well then,” he walked up to her again, “where were we?”
He kissed her on the mouth once more, grabbing her breast, making a soft sound escape her lips right into his. She helped him rid of his Hellfire Club t-shirt, this time making sure it lands safely on the floor.
She gasped as he took each of her wrists in his hands and laid her down, spreading her arms on the table. He crawled on top of her, looking her in the eyes.
“You sure you’re into this?”, he asked, his breath warm. And while the remaining pieces of her reason were still screaming to get up and leave, she smirked. “Yes, master. Let’s not make the god wait any longer.”
A wide grin lit up his face, childish excitement about her playing along mixing with the obvious intense emotions he felt right this moment.
“If at any point I do something you’re not into, if I go too far, you tell me right away, yes?” he asked, his face serious, and somehow, that only made her want him more. She felt the pressure building up in her as she thought about what he might have in mind. She nodded, making his eyes lit up with a smile.
“Very well,” he said, crawling back to the floor, “gotta make sure the offering doesn’t run then.”
Before she could digest what he meant, he opened one of the chests and took out a piece of rope. She didn’t move, her chest rising and falling fast as he came up to the other end of the table.
“So obedient already, left your arms spread as I made them,” he muttered. “Good girl,” he whispered just above her face. He then took one of her hands and placed a soft kiss on her wrist before wrapping it with rope. The rough material scratched the sensitive parts of her skin as he made the knot tighter. He put the rest of the rope under the table and then wrapped the other end around her second wrist, immobilizing her in this exact position, arms spread wide like a victim on the offering table. The thought of being completely helpless, completely at his mercy turned her on even more.
He came back around, standing between her legs. He climbed his way up again, kissing down from her chest, sucking gently on her nipples, going down her abdomen. As he unbuttoned her pants, she felt the need to touch his hair again, wanted to tangle her fingers in them, lead his head where she wanted it, where she needed it the most right now. Eddie’s knots were solid, though, and the movement only resulted in the rough rope pinning harder into her skin.
“So needy,” he chuckled, noticing her movement. “Gotta be patient, my love. Master has to do everything just right.”
He took off her shoes, slid down her pants along with her underwear, leaving her completely naked on the table. He then took one more piece of rope and did the same he did with her arms, but with her ankles. Limbs spread, she felt open and defenceless… and she couldn’t wait to see how he uses it.
She looked at him as he stood, staring at her, as if devouring the sight of her spread before him. His chest rose and fell quickly as he brushed his hair back with his hand.
“Even or odd?”, he asked all of the sudden.
“What?”
“Choose. Even or odd numbers,” he clarified.
“Um… odd,” she said.
“Very well,” he grinned as he bent down and picked up a dice from the floor. “Even, Tempus is not happy with the sacrifice and I let you go. Odd, Tempus is happy and we proceed.”
She held her breath as he tossed the dice right between her legs, the object nearly making it to her most sensitive part. She couldn’t see the dice, so she watched Eddie lean over her to read it.
A mischievous smile grew on his face. “It’s an eleven.”
She threw back her head as he put his lips on her body again, this time kissing the inside of her left tight, squeezing the right one with his hand. She felt the rings lightly scratch her as his hand went up and down, making his way closer to her entrance. His hair tingled her and suddenly the knots bothered her again, she wanted to touch him, lead him… but there was something about not being able to do that that made her enjoy the otherwise unpleasant sensation on the rope pinning into her skin.
A slight moan escaped her lips as his mouth made it to her hole, kissing and licking gently.
“Fuck,” she sighed as she felt his tongue inside of her. As his mouth was exploring her, one of his hands continued to pleasure her thigh and the other he put flat on her abdomen, right above her vulva. His thumb made it to her clit, rubbing it in a way that made the rope now get tighter on her ankles as she struggled to stay in place. His mouth and hand, working her in tandem, were bringing her closer and closer to the climax.
“Shit, princess, you taste so good,” he muttered, his voice slightly vibrating against her folds. She didn’t keep her moans in anymore as he replaced his thumb with his index and middle finger, working her at a speed that took her breath away.
“Fuck, you’re so good,” she couldn’t help but say.
“I play the guitar, baby, them fingers are well trained in treating a lady,” he smirked and, as if to prove his point, he added the ring finger, pleasuring her like she never knew one could be pleasured before.
“I– I’m gonna come,” she whimpered, her back aching.
“Yes, cum for me, princess.” His words alone made it impossible to hold any longer. She reached her climax, releasing herself with his head still between her thighs.
“Do you think… do you think the god is content?” she panted. He rose and the sight of his face, her liquids on it, glimmering in the candle light, could as well make her come once again this very second.
“We’ll have to check,” he said. He picked up the dice again. “Even or odd?”
“Odd again.”
“Even, he’s not and we have to figure out how to please him. Odd, he is and the ritual is completed.”
This time he tossed the dice on her stomach. It rolled unevenly, stopping near her chest.
“That’s an eight,” he said, clicking his tongue. “Apparently Tempus isn’t satisfied easily.”
“I think I know what he might like,” she said.
“Oh yeah?” he smiled. “Well then, why don’t you show me?”
He didn’t bother untying the rope from her limbs, he simply picked up a knife that, for whatever reason, was laying around all the other clutter, and cut the knots, leaving her with pieces of rope around her wrists and ankles like bracelets.
“Go up to the chair,” she said, getting up, looking him in the eye.
“Oof, I like that tone,” he grinned, walking up to the solid, wooden seat. She stood in front of him, her hands making their way to his leather belt. The chains attached to his jeans jangled as she pulled the pants down along with his boxers. They revealed his dick, hard, impatiently awaiting to be taken care of.
“Sit,” she demanded. “The master deserves his throne.”
He said nothing as he sit in the chair, grabbing the armrests. She took two longer pieces of rope that remained after he cut her bonds, now using them to tie his wrists down to the armrests of the chair.
“Fuck, princess,” he groaned, stretching his ringed fingers, as if adjusting to the bonds. She looked into his eyes as she slowly kneeled down, her hands resting on his thighs. He let out a loud hiss as she grabbed his dick by its core, circling it with her fingers gently before leaning in to touch the head of it with her tongue. She smiled against his skin as she saw him struggle. She knew he must have felt exactly what she had felt before, wanting nothing else but to touch, to guide, the underlying need for control fighting with the electrifying feeling of obedience.
He threw his head back as she worked him faster, just like him before, using both her mouth and hand, pressing her nails of the other hand into his thigh, squeezing it as he let out sweet noises. Her rhythmical moves made his body arch, sweat making his locks stick to his forehead.
“I– I wanna come inside you,” he cried out.
“Do you think Tempus is gonna like it?” she asked playfully.
“Screw that son of a bitch, I’m gonna like it and you’re gonna like it,” he said, out of breath.
“Works for me,” she smiled, untying his hands. As soon as the bonds were off, he grabbed her, wildly, greedily, basically tossing her on the table again.
He held her hips as she spread her legs, allowing him to enter her. She let out an uncontrolled moan, now feeling his length inside her, and moved her hips as he pushed in and out, making them work together in perfect rhythm. His hand made its way up her body, cupping her breast, squeezing it lightly. It then climbed up her neck. She gasped as he placed his fingers around it, in places that felt just right, and started to squeeze. She felt the tension rise up in her body once again as he looked her deep in the eyes, his hand choking her, pressing points on her neck she didn’t know could feel so good. The slight scratching of the rings only made it better and she whimpered, fighting for breath in the sweet agony.
“Fuck, you’re so hot, princess,” he said. “I’m coming,” he groaned as his body shivered and, moments later, his cum erupted inside her. Not taking his hand away from her neck, he touched her with the other one, working her to help her come once again. As she reached her release too, she laid down on the table, her body weakened, exhausted in the best way possible. Her legs felt soft and she felt like she would collapse now if she tried to stand up, so she just laid there, breathing heavily, liquid dripping from in between her thighs.
She stared into the ceiling as she felt soft kisses on her body. She looked up to see Eddie untie the knots on her ankles, kissing the skin that was underneath them as if trying to soothe the irritation. He did the same with her wrists. Finally, as he made her sit up, he placed a few kisses on her neck, right in the places where his fingers were pressing.
She tangled her fingers in his hair, now damp with sweat. As his face was just a few inches away from hers, she could admire the candle light glimmering in the deep, warm eyes of his again. He was looking at her in awe, nostrils moving and chest rising as they both still tried to get their breaths intact.
“I don’t have to throw any dice to know we both fucking won this round, didn’t we?” he smirked.
“Hell yeah, we did,” she smiled.
They stared at each other in silence for a second, but, somehow, the silence wasn’t uncomfortable.
“I don’t want you to go,” he said suddenly.
“What do you mean?”
“I’m afraid you walk out that door and regret all of this. That you close that door and I don’t see you in forever again.” His eyes were wide as he stroked her hair with his fingers.
“No way, Munson. You’ll see me alright,” she smiled. “Don’t you have more sacrifices to make?”
“I think there are a couple of gods I wouldn’t mind having on my side,” he smirked.
“I’ll be back,” she claimed and kissed his lips, a long, soft kiss. “But for now… your princess has another quest ahead.”
“Then the master is wishing her all the luck,” he said. “And awaits her return.”

Note
For the ao3 wrapped, 16 and/or 28 please! 💕
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
“Romance”! Followed right up my “smut”!
28. Favorite work you write this year?
I’ve decided this question is impossible to answer because I had such a wonderful time writing all of them. So I’m giving you my top nine favorites in no particular order!
“Two Girls Walk Into a Bar And—” I had and have zero interest in Paige except as a monkey wrench for future Hellcheer fics. This is my first of many to come.
“Of Coffeeshops and Westerns” I’ve been wanting to write Wayne/Karen Wheeler since I decided I didn’t care for Wayne/Susan Mayfield and was apathetic about Wayne/Claudia Henderson. This scratched my brain the right way.
“Your Future Ghost” This was and is such a challenge, because I genuinely hate Jason. So creating an iteration of the character that is sympathetic and whom I can connect with has been incredibly rewarding. Thank Aicosu for making me stretch my writing muscles!
“Wrong Side of the Tracks” I LOVE flipping tropes on their heads and envisioning a Wayne that doesn’t like Chrissy immediately is one of those really rewarding challenges.
“Don’t Read the Last Page” This was meant to be a oneshot! And now it’s a goddamn season 4 redo! AUGH! But envisioning Eddie and Chrissy as in love but both in respective mental places on their relationship is so interesting to write.
“Papa Don’t Preach” You all know I love babies ever after and pregnancy AU’s. This was just an inevitability for Barbgrove.
“Defy Not the Heart” I get to be purple prosey and sweepingly ridiculous in this one. I LOVE trashy bodice rippers and getting to write one for Barbgrove has been a dream come true.
“Double Babysitter” I got into Bluey like the rest of the people of my generaltion who had bad childhoods and this episode was pure Hellcheer. It’s one of my crackiest fics, but so fun!
“But hearts are breaking, and wars are raging on, and I have taken my glasses off” The entire Rose-colored boy ‘verse is just so satisfying to write. I love envisioning Kali and Steve, two characters who desperately want families, getting to create one for themselves.
A03 wrap up

Crossover Masterlist
I did threaten to do this so the natural next step was to go and organize a list of crossovers! I tried to stick to main ones/ones that have been developed a bit more but I’m happy to include anything else so!! If anyone isn’t on the list but wants to be included lmk (I was sticking with people who interacted with the original post, happy to include anyone who might have missed it), if I’ve missed any specific crossovers you want included lmk, or if there are any that you want me to take off the list, lmk that too!!

So tonight’s Casualty was absolutely brilliant. So brilliant, I had to wait nearly 2 hours to properly put together thoughts on it. I’m in awe of the show in a way I haven’t been since Jade’s centric episode years ago. What a masterpiece.
Goodbye, Robyn Miller. What a way for her to go out! I’ve never been the biggest fan of Robyn as a character (though it probably didn’t help that the show didn’t give her much to do all that often - I did, however, love the Glen storyline), but this was an incredibly powerful and impactful exit.
The show has had patients die because of the lack of resources at the hospital before, but this is the first time I can think of that it’s really happened to a main character. I applaud Casualty for being brave enough to go there. Having a character we’ve known for years die as a result of the NHS crisis - a character who might’ve lived if she’d been able to leave on her last shift when she was supposed to instead of staying, or if they’d had the resources to send an ambulance to her sooner, if they could’ve got her to theatre sooner... - makes such a bold statement. Massive, massive kudos to the show.
We saw Robyn’s friends and partner grieving, saw her daughter left traumatised and orphaned, and it was made all the more impactful by the fact that we know these characters. It was deeply upsetting and heartbreaking, but it needed to be. (I keep mentally comparing it to the Holby finale. This achieved everything that the Holby finale didn’t. This was a meaningful tribute to the NHS and this was a character death that actually mattered, rather than being done for misogyny and fridging like Jac’s.)
Amanda Henderson has been great as Robyn all these years, and I hope she’s as satisfied with this exit as the rest of us. It was a great way to go out and I bet it’ll be remembered for years.
Marty’s exit was perhaps the biggest surprise of the night. I’ve always felt he was a bit underused, and it’s a shame to see him go, but what an exit! His scene outside with Paige, despairing at the situation, was a particular highlight - it was fantastic. Shaheen Jafargholi played that so well. <3
As sad as it is to see all these characters leaving, the way they’ve been written out - Robyn dying because she couldn’t get treatment soon enough, Marty and David giving up because they simply couldn’t cope anymore - is heartbreakingly realistic and sends a very powerful message.
And we knew David was leaving, but we didn’t know it would be this episode. I guess everyone theorising Sacha would be involved in his exit was sort of right! We got one last brilliant performance from Jason Durr before he left. Every scene he had in this episode was fantastic.
It felt odd, though, that his exit didn’t involve the Ollie storyline at all - indeed, that story hasn’t come up in months. I kind of think the aftermath must’ve been cut short or something. It’s a shame, because it really does show how that story never needed to happen. But it did happen, and thus, I’m - in a way - glad David has left. I remember what Holby did to Henrik after the Fredrik storyline - they suddenly latched on to this idea that now all Henrik could do was suffer. I wouldn’t want David subjected to miserable story after miserable story like that.
I am sad we didn’t get a final Dylan and David scene, although I suppose it showed how utterly exhausted and broken David was that he didn’t even say goodbye to his best friend.
I would’ve liked David and Marty’s exits to happen a few episodes after this, but for the same reason. Cramming it all in one episode was a bit much IMO, and I think spreading it out (even if only so David and Marty could work their notice after resigning in this episode) would have worked better, so they could each get more individual focus.
It was nice to see Sacha again, but I’m not sure whether to be glad or upset that he didn’t mention Jac. (Speaking of mentions, I’m going to cling on to the fact that he mentioned Dom as a general surgeon who could be called but not Henrik as an implication that Henrik did indeed leave the hospital.) I think I would rather if they’d used Dom instead, as there’s a lot that needs to be talked about with Sacha after Jac’s death that... didn’t get talked about.
It was great to see Dylan, David, and Sacha all working together - some people have said to me before that David and Sacha are similar characters and they’re so right. I also appreciated the whole thing of all the theatres being in use and how they struggled to find anywhere for Robyn. It really does highlight how ridiculous Holby got in its final few series, when there were hardly any patients and the staff had all the spare time imaginable to go around having dramas. This was way more realistic.
Bob Barrett was very good, too. He always is. <3
I’m really frustrated at Faith’s involvement in the care home storyline, though even she couldn’t ruin this episode for me. Like... it’s supposed to be Dylan’s storyline?? I guess I’m glad they had Elsie directly tell Faith what was happening rather than Faith working it out when Dylan couldn’t. Also, this episode made me believe Faith cared about someone (Elsie), which I haven’t been able to believe in years. She’s still a monster, obviously, but I’m surprised they managed to convince me she’s a monster who does occasionally have some sort of feeling or care for people who aren’t herself.
Apart from Faith, all the characters I usually can’t stand were quite decent tonight - Charlie, Paul, etc. So that was good.
Charles Venn was fantastic in this episode, and I really think this is all going to lead into a mental breakdown of some kind for Jacob.
I probably have even more thoughts on this episode, that’s only a smattering of them! But that’s all I have to say for now. <3
