sometimes its so crazy to realize that there's actually a lot of things i like. that i thought i didn't like because i was a depressed teenager. i love being outside! i love swimming! i love talking to people! even strangers sometimes! i love getting dressed in fun outfits and doing makeup! i love reading and going to art museums! i just thought i was doomed forever to a life of complete and total apathy and void! and now look at me! still a little shaky but i'm doing it!!!!!

hey i hope you're well! i'm new to the nhl and the sens have charmed me for some reason lol so i'm just trying to learn as much as i can. your presentations were already really helpful and i was wondering if there's any more inside jokes/essential stories etc i need to know to get to know the team better. alternatively, are there any games i should go back and watch/your favourite matches etc.? thanks a ton :))

hi anon, welcome!

to me, one of the best things about the sens is that they're not in a huge market and had a couple of really bad years which took away a lot of the attention and pressure off of their young players as they were rebuilding. they were given the space to be clowns.

maybe one of the funnest pieces of sens lore is how often the sens (brady) go to bars and do whatever they can to draw as much attention to themselves as possible. brady has been known to get behind the bar and start serving drinks and get up on stage and start singing with the band.

Other fun pieces of sens lore to hook you in:

any kind of behind the scenes content with thomas chabot is immediately iconic because that man is constantly flirting with teammates - josh norris, the goalies, tim stützle, shane pinto

brady and tim have a tradition of brady slamming tim into the boards during warm ups at the beginning of every game: excellent, 10/10, good vibes,

tim can and will fall over at the slightest gust of wind. you would think this professional ice hockey player would know how to skate on ice without falling alas

this offseason, we'll be talking a lot about the sens ownership race. the sens' previous owner passed away last year and now they're looking for someone new to buy the team. this in itself wouldn't be that interesting, but for some reason, some celebrities have decided to get involved and say they're interested in buying them. ryan reynolds has been talking about it for the longest, but it looks like he recently pulled out. snoop dogg and the weeknd have also said that they are interested, so we'll see where it goes.

I know you mentioned it in your ask, but there are a couple basic get to know the sens primers available here and here and this youtube video is good way to get to know the players.

#i'm not really someone who goes back to watch games because part of the fun of watching live hockey is that i don't know how it ends #that being said there were a bunch of fun games at the end of this season that could be fun to revisit #the sens @ panthers game from april 6 was so fun to watch #and the april 10th hurricanes @ sens game where claude giroux scored his 1000th point was also a great time #i will be updating that primer for the 23-24th season primer in october :)#let me know if you have any questions!#ottawa senators

little soup cans are some of the neatest things we have, wish there were more soup-can-like things in this world

#just me hi #though canopeners need to stop being deadly weapons to some degree before that hfhs #'they're not deadly tho ?' well usually yes. but did you know that they can age Badly? i did not!#and the one I was using was dulled to an extent that it would Skip over a part of the can #(nearly the same spot every time lol) and when I thought I'd managed to fool it and had only #the tiniest bit of metal between me and some beans (pretty sure it was beans) I thought #'ohh I'll just pull up the can lid :)' Well the lid snapped off completely towards and Into my hand #and I had a bean-can wound on my pinky for about a week or so. I do not know how long it's been lol #//but soup cans are pretty cool I feel like they're kinda underappreciated !!#you can just have Soup ? Whenever ??? and it's Normal !! wow :D #sure making soup is pretty great. but that's a process man. and we're not even associates #[<- 'a process I am (not) intimate with']#like there is a little can of menudo in the pantry rn - medunito they call it isn't that just !! - and it's just there. it can be made in #like 10 minutes. is this Not the best thing ever ! ?#//I've also gotta figure out this sleeping thing that I've got going on (everybody has it going on)#I was maybe half a week into actually have a consistent thing going but the night I stopped was bc I am a sucker of a storyteller and we #were up til about. I think 4-6 a.m.#that's on me yes. my siblings vs. my desire to tell stories and rubber willpower hfbdh #a deadly match truly #and also I lost my snoopy watch (RIP snoopy watch you will be missed (I can't find it send help Waough)) and that was the only clock I had #in this room so now if I wanna know the time I have to go the living room - which is like a whole dang thing lemme tell you about it #/first I've gotta get up - easiest thing by far - and get to the door - assuming I don't get KO'd by my siblings' belongings on the floor -#get to the door. the door Is broken to some extent. opening it means a loud THDPD noise is sent throughout the entire house lol. and you #have to yank on the thing to get it open - so double effort there - and then you step out into the hallwayish area where you can then enter #the living room - oh so easy! but No! you then have to either turn on the kitchen lights and wake everyone with their door open or sleeping #in the living room for whatever reason Orrr you have to clamber over chairs pots perhaps a cat if you've got real bad luck that night to ge #up nice n personal to the clock so you can read the dang thing and see it's 11:23. which is like nothing so you stay up Anyway and do not #check the clock again because not only was that a hassle but also you released every creature that was in the room with you (that's a lot o #noise). but Yea the clock situation is ongoing hfbsh #'why don't you get a clock' that would be much too easy loll :) (last one disappeared and we keep forgetting lol) //ran out of tag space so

Nobody tells you actually how funny it is to run into someone when they're waking up. Because my sleep schedule is more of a sleep plan, there's no set times but it's probably gonna happen. My brother was getting up for work and saw me and was like "??why are you awake?? Why aren't you asleep?"

Saw some hypothetical post about going back to when you’re six with all the knowledge you have now, and that would be torture. Why would I want to be six years old with knowledge of all the Horrors? You can’t do anything to stop them. You’re six

#the earliest I would go is 15 because there are definitely parts of my high school experience I would change to improve my life now #but most likely 19 when I started college #i could do something there #but also 6 would be so miserable for me persoanlly #my brother died that year #imagine knowing your brother is going to die and not being able to do anything to stop it #and being 6 protected me from all the grief because I wasn’t able to process emotions yet #having to experience that as a 23 year old?#also ngl debut Didn’t even come out until I was 7 #Taylor swift Didn’t even properly exist yet #i already think it would be hard going back to 19 before we had even lover #and 15 we wouldn’t have rep #can’t imagine going back and restarting not having anything #also what if o do something to change the course of events and we never get evermore?#time travel is a tricky situation

well the good news is im gonna look the part of someone who hasnt been to class in several weeks

#speculation nation #i went and laid down for a Brief bit of sleepy tired. to recover from The Sads #1.5hr turned into 2.25hr (whoops) but im up again and i finally have my monster #mmm radioactive juice #honestly our presentation is horrifically underdone for us presenting in about 3 hours #(yes it's tht close. haha)#only one person entered stuff for it i think. im gonna put what i can #gonna have to bluff to hell and back for this one y'all. & doing that for public speaking... eugh...#like i got an idea of it. the problems is i really dont know my classes #i can talk about the structure though. probably. & the fact that we r gonna use threading & probably jar file transfer #& i need a way for the program to know whether the camera or user is connecting to it #biiiiiiiiggest fucking yawn. not bc i think it's boring but bc it's 6:23 am and i have had only 2 hrs of sleep (accidentally)#the good news is that once i finish this presentation. im done with the worst part of it #i'll have to stop by work for an hour or so to do the tips distribution. and then i can go home and sleeeeeeep #bc i thankfully have today off. and im gonna fuckin use it #wish the presentation was later in the day. that wouldve made things easier haha

turbulent events have happened tonight

#celebrated international children's day with my high school english teacher #yes we have been friends for almost 10 years. since i was in 9th grade #yes he is 19 years older than me #talked about the old friend group which consisted about like three of us high school girls and a bunch of college guys who were all at least #4 or 5 years older than us. yes every guy crushed on the same girl at one point. i was in a relationship with the oldest of them #one of them who was tangentially in the group now has psychiatric problems. i don't know the specifics. he was to get married to this random #ass girl who got pregnant at 22/23 by another guy #idk who exactly but suffice to say they are not together anymore #we discussed my cancer situation. my ex (who apparently will love me forever) was crying a lot about it and seemed shaken up #even at their little guys christmas reunion last year #he texted me in december saying a part of me lives and will always live inside of him and that he loves me no matter what #i was honestly at a complete loss for words because we broke up 5 years ago. we literally had no future together #one of the other guys apparently said back in december that it was no use texting me encouraging words because we had drifted apart #that is the same guy i crushed on for 6 years. i still wished him a happy birthday in april tho.#it's okay because my crush on him vanished as soon as i realized he's a little piece of shit human. still likeable tho #and that is the issue. anyway. maybe i shouldn't have said piece of shit he's more like an annoying asshole which you still find endearing #talking to him now makes me realize he was never all that. high school me just thought he did really interesting things (which admittedly #were very interesting for that time and for our little town)#about my ex tho #even though i have no feelings for him anymore i think it's really beautiful that what we had is staying with him like that. i hope #it doesn't stop him from having a healthy and loving relationship in the future #i know he had multiple relationships after me but none of them really worked out. i really hope he finds that happiness #the way that i have
