What starts as a source of fun and relaxation in our free time, becomes an investment in our own well-being. You're are forced to justify spending your hard-earned cash on what you love, and if it by some miracle it pays off, oh then you better watch out. It might just evolve into a side hustle, encroaching on any other personal time that you may have left. Soon, before you even know it, it's a second job, and eventually, our main source of income. Finally, back to square one, seeking a new hobby, a new investment, as our old one slowly consumes our life.

Valentine’s week day 4: longing

For Day 28, I once again drew on a short story that Lovecraft wrote in 1908. The Alchemist

An alchemist who wants to avenge his father's death by cursing the murderer - he and his descendants may not live past 32 - and to make sure that the curse really works, he creates the elixir of eternal life for himself and personally murders the descendants on their 32nd birthday. Passes as Passion Project, doesn't it? :)

Love Letter | Unholy & Divine

The Religious Kingdoms

I'm pondering on the religious differences between the human kingdoms.

Some would center around inclusive monotheistic beliefs, where the 6 Gods would be recognized in their separate identities, but not as separate entities. Monotheistic kingdoms believe in oneness, where they themselves are one with their Earth, their Gods and The Sovereign Gods. This perception of unity is why protection, preservation and healing are so integral and sacred to their practices. These ensure that the energy they believe flows through everything is protected from demonic & vampiric entities, and therefore preserved to continue healing the land.

Kingdoms that recognize a pantheon identify themselves separately from their Gods. There is not a oneness that flows through all they know, but there are precepts and expectations they must live by. The structure and belief of the polytheistic religions for this story are still being developed, but I had the idea of, instead of practices that center around the self, polytheistic kingdoms would focus on the Gods. Someone may nurture and practice love in order to receive greater blessings from Cupid, or, one might study beyond their heart’s content to earn greater knowledge from Avohr, without focus on any other God. I had the idea of subdivisions existing within the polytheistic religion that would support monotheistic beliefs. There would still be a heavy difference from kingdoms that practice monotheism exclusively.

Long Over Due Update

Underneath Azynyn is a book that I wrote while in high school. It was a part of a world that would contain a multitude of stories. Having such a massive passion project put onto a teenager though, goes as you would imagine. I finished the book and quickly acknowledged that it wasn't ready to be shared.

After a year in college I realized I wanted to take on the world again in a new city called Los Colinas: The New Las Vegas. The idea was at first nothing but a drive to create more cyberpunk art because I could never find enough female written and centered Cyberpunk fiction to be satisfied. To top it off I had watched the tragedy that is Banana Fish and the first season of Arcane and was in a really poor place in my life with my mental health. My abuse during those years created a monster of a project, with an unreliably traumatized narrator, a risky manipulator, and a world rife with political and cultural commentary. I was thrilled, and the story quickly became nothing short of a child to me. But again, once I finished it I could tell it wasn't ready.

A part of my trauma has always been tied to my place in this capitalistic hellscape we live in. I was born in a poor home, but one that lacked the education to realize that community was important for survival. I was bread to believe that relying on others was selfish, and painted you out to be weak or childish. So I poked and eroded at my ever waining motivation, to get the book published— to be successful in this field I've dedicated my life to.

Very bad idea.

I went into the publishing and querying process far too early for the story I had been writing, and paid the price of taking dozens of agents out of the running for potential candidates who would take my story on.

But here I am now. I have healed a lot since then and have come to terms with this book taking much longer than I initially intended. And I am ready to embark on a journey, no matter how long it takes, to make this story into the beautiful creature I feel it is in my heart.

Of course there will always be other stories. I'm working on a space opera series as well as inter-dimensional series. But I haven't been able to pull my heart too far away from this one, not at least until I've done the best I can to make it what I know it can be.

So, here's to the seventh edit, but first total re-plotting of the book of my heart, The Further Down We Go.

A New Beginning

After leaving a demanding job that drained my energy and enthusiasm, I reached a pivotal moment in my career. I wanted to pursue something that was not only intellectually stimulating but also personally fulfilling. That's when I turned to game development. Initially, it started as a small, experimental project—something to keep me occupied and help me reconnect with the joy of creativity. I began teaching myself the essentials, experimenting, and developing small prototypes, driven by the excitement of creating something unique.

From Hobby to Career

What began as a casual hobby soon transformed into a full-blown passion. I found myself dedicating increasing amounts of time and effort, and before long, this modest project had evolved into something far more substantial. This journey ultimately led to the founding of Zeathen Interactive.

Introducing Hueniverse

The first major product from Zeathen Interactive is Hueniverse—a color sorting game designed to engage players in organizing tiles in their correct sequence. While the mechanics are straightforward, the game aims to deliver a satisfying and stimulating challenge, ideal for those moments when you need a quick mental exercise.

Currently, Hueniverse is available on Android, and I would be thrilled if you gave it a try. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to me, and I am eager to hear your thoughts. The goal was to create an experience that is both brief and entertaining, a small burst of enjoyment whenever you need it.
