I live!!!

I apologize for my absence. A lot of things hit me since late February but, I have some fun (and angsty) commissions from the kind @pepperedappels and @rianisbeststoneboi

They both have a cool TDC x Star Wars AU that was fun drawing out. Thank you so much to the both of you for commissioning me! I greatly appreciate it and thank you for allowing me to share the images!

This is all stories I have in the works;

1.) Theron/Lana speaking on past lovers, or Theron finding out that sith Lords frequently have harems.

(Theron stared at Lana incredulously as the togruta walked away from them both, sway in her hips and a grin on her face as she held the land deed in her hands,

" You? You had a concubine!?!")

2.) Sass/Theron, Theron first day back in the Allience after the traitor arch, or rather him truly noticing Sass has a tan, new armor and let his hair grow out since he left.

" You...you look good." Theron stated awkwardly, silently cursing himself as crinsom eyes merely side-eyed him, Sass saying nothing in return, the silence deafening in the elevator.

3.) Sass/Inibri part two of " A Cruel Exchange "

The chiss he had bound upon his bed was exhausted, bound, gagged and utterly spent after a night of passion, Inibri would normally admire the view, but tonight he had questions.

4.) Sass/past Santixes or Sass finding out he's going to be a father, from his one night stand after the Umbrain incident.

Sass held his head in his hands as he wanted to smash his head against the table,

" You are certain?" He asked uncertainly, the cathar leaning against the wall huffed tossing a dozen pregnancy tests on the table to land all in front of him.

All positive.

5.) Lana/Sass or the first time they made out on Rishi.

The pirates were muttering to themselves at the cantina, gambling and drinking with the occasional gossip,Lana keep an ear open, even as the chiss nibbled her bottom lip to lick the wine off.

6.) Theron/Lana ish, or rather after thier nasty breakup on Umbra 6 months later after Nathama and them both being badly injured, Sass sticks them on his ships kolto tank.

Problem being theres only one.

When Theron opened his eyes, after being stabbed in the gut with a lightsaber and knocked out, he fully expected to be dead,

Only for furious feiry eyes to be glaring at him inches away in the kolto tank.

Theron closed his eyes, hoping Lana would think he died.

7.) A pregnant Santixes trying to get ahold of liquor

Theron decides to cut her off in the dumbest way possible.

Desperate furred hands reached for the bottle above the spies head.

" Please? I just need a sip to tucker me out for bed!"

Theron " You are eight months pregnant! No alcohol! And if your going to keep trying to sneak it, I'll drank the good stuff and pour the rest down the drain!"

8.) Lana/Sass , Lana no longer feeling the force around the chiss after Nathama and zildrog.

The spy took the bottle and proceeded to chug it all to the last drop, forgetting the fact he hadn't eaten all day.

" Pick it up." She stated at the box nearby, the commander merely shrugged his shoulders before moving to pick it up, only for a cybernetic hand to stop him.

" No, with the force, pick it up, or anything, show me you can." Her voice took on a desperate tone as crinsom eyes gazed up at her, telling her the truth before her lovers lips ever did.

9.) Sass/Lana.

" Do you trust me?"

" Commander, the Republic and Empire are about to obliarate Odessan!"

" And do you trust me?"

" ....Always."

10.) Lana/ Sass.

" Do you just create a sith training grounds on Odessan? Sass asked looking over the newest batch of building permits.

" Did your mother create a Jedi enclave on Odessan last week?" Lana replied not looking up from her spies reports.

" .....Fair point."

I'm curious to know what your personal take is on what skekMal and Rek'yr's relationship was like as I doubt we'll ever get a canon confirmation (though I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some backstory in possible future seasons)

I have a feeling we’ll be getting a prequel comic about him considering so far minor characters (excluding Hup) with prominent roles in the series are getting fleshed out backstories. There’s no way they would pass the opportunity of exploring Rek’yr’s life, the Dousan, and the possible connection he had with a popular skeksis like skekMal.

That being said, I feel their relationship is a bit tricky to pin down. I wouldn’t call them friends, but I think there was some kind of bond outside of being a hunter and his guide. I’ve talked about how the Dousan and skekMal are similar to each other (primarily life style and somewhat views on death). I’ve also theorized that the Dousan may have influenced the Hunter in some way, especially surrounding his trophy collecting. I think skekMal was drawn more to Rek’yr in particular because apparently the sandmaster’s considered a bit of a rebel and might not fully subscribe to the Dousan’s peaceful ways. He might have saw a lot of himself in him (or at least as what he perceived to be similarities). Or it could be the simpler fact that Rek’yr is the most reliable guide around. Either way, it earned some amount of respect from the Hunter enough that he told Rek’yr his name (which I headcanon is a big deal for a skeksis to tell a gelfling their name). 

On Rek’yr’s side, he is probably the best at handling the nature of skekMal. The desert is unpredictable and unforgiving, much like the Hunter. And given his other traits, he both understands where the boundaries between the two lie as well having the confidence to interact with something so wild. He might have been fascinated by the Hunter and respected his Hunt as well as disillusioned by him. Rek’yr saw skekMal as a possible idealized version of him that Rek’yr or the Dousan conjured up (or perhaps a combination of the two) until reality hit him in the face. Despite that, Rek’yr was most definitely a positive influence in skekMal’s life. If skekMal didn’t burn that bridge (and not act like a feral dumbass), they might have been friends.

Here's a question my housemate asked me and that I'd like a second opinion on; Can Skeksis get pregnant? And if so, do they lay eggs? (He thinks the answer is yes because "they're bird/lizard aliens so why not")

Well isn’t that a question! haha! I honestly have no idea, lol! I’m certainly not hiding an AU where Skekmal and Rek’yr have a family, lmao! 

But in all seriousness I would say it probably isn’t canon that they can. But then again when have I ever cared about canon. I would agree that they probably lay eggs because bird/lizard aliens. I cannot see Skeksis giving live birth. Whether or not this leads to their uru counterpart being pregnant as well is up for debate. However if not then I imagine the egg hatches with an uru counterpart inside or in a separate egg because there can’t be one without the other.

Meeting Grandma

Food for thought, what if skekMal knew Rek'yr father who was like the hunter's original guide? The father and son were probably outcast or risk takers. Maybe Rek'yr was raised riding along side the hunter and explains why he did not fear him and we're on name base terms? I really love your answer to these deep thought questions they are really great read 😁 .

Oooh, I like this. Like skekMal was his dad’s hand-me-down LOL. Although I don’t think the two would be outcasts. Rek’yr’s father might have also been a sandmaster and raised his son to become one. And maybe they have a similar dynamic to Periss and his brother Erimon from the books where Rek’yr constantly challenged his father’s as well as the rest of the Dousan’s views (minus him running away and becoming a thief). 

And thank you! I know I get a bit rambley and a tendency to over explain, but I’m glad some people like my takes on TDC characters.

What do you think Rek'yr and Skekmal's first night togather was like? Just sleeping togather (no sex)!

I think the first night they actually just slept side by side wasn’t anything particularly special because they weren’t thinking about it at the time. They fell asleep side by side, their arms barely brushing up against one another as the sandstorm howled just outside the cave. The two were so exhausted from their travel and from a hunt that had gone terrible that the two just sort of passed out. 

It wouldn’t be until later that one would put forth an invitation for the two to sleep together. In fact @pepperedappels-main and I actually ran through a possible scenario kind of delving into the subject. Where Skekmal attempts to build up immunity to poisons by slowly consuming certain materials, unfortunately he makes himself sick and typically Rek’yr takes care of him. One time however he goes too far and Rek’yr is no where to be found, so he just hunkers down in the Dousans quarters for a few days until Rek’yr finally comes back and finds him. 

The sandmaster freaks out and basically spends all day and night nursing skekmal back to health, after which when the Hunter wakes up he lets Skekmal have it for being an idiot and for scaring him like that. 

There’s a lot of silent contemplation on both of their parts as to how much they actually mean to one another but how little either is willing to say on the matter, leaving them standing there awkwardly in silence before Rek’yr goes to excuse himself so Skekmal can rest. 

Skekmal, feeling as he might be at risk of losing something, asks Rek’yr to stay and sleep beside him. It is a bit awkward because this is the first time they’ve really bunked down together for reasons that wasn’t necessarily out of survival, like huddling together for warmth or for safety. This is just the two of them, both longing for intimacy and closeness but both not really being able to verbally say what they want. 

Eventually Rek’yr falls asleep, Skekmal keeping the Dousans back to his chest so that they fit better. Rek’yr feels safe and at peace and Skekmal is left to ponder why exactly he feels so calm with the Gelfling beside him right before he falls asleep as well.
