From interviews to personalised learning, AI revolutionising edu
Tumblr media
Mumbai: The pressure cooker of management school interviews this year acquired a digital sheen. Instead of facing a panel of professors, candidates at a city B-school sat across a panel that comprised a teacher and an AI-assisted interviewer—an indigenous tool on a computer designed to probe, analyse, and even cross-check responses. "You mentioned your role in your family business," the AI prompted an interviewee. "Can you share examples of the changes you introduced?" The algorithm listened, parsed, and flagged discrepancies—picking up contradictions between the candidate's answers and statement of purpose.
Welcome to the new age of Indian campuses, where AI is reshaping day-to-day activities. If AI-assisted interviews have already started refining student selection at NMIMS School of Business Management, a committee of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, decided to use AI to tailor sharper lessons. Dr Homi Bhabha State University has an entire digital workforce of ‘AI agents' to handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling calls or interviews. In some schools, AI-driven solutions customise learning for students with special needs.
About the newly formed ‘teaching, learning and assessment committee' at IIT-B, director Shireesh Kedare said it's an attempt to modify pedagogy and make teaching more active. Formed six months ago, the panel took inputs from various departments to take teaching beyond what is available on the Web and assess whether IIT-B could incorporate activities in the classroom or reshape assessment in a manner that students could use their creativity and not just input data in an AI tool for answers.
For many institutes, AI is breaking down large systems into smaller and more achievable goals. Technology is eliminating inefficiencies, ensuring teachers can focus on creativity, mentorship, and critical thinking, rather than get bogged down by administrative work. Textbook publisher Navneet is offering an AI tool with its books to help teachers draw up presentations, use simulations, and even offer "deeper research" for students wanting to explore beyond.
At HBSU, AI is not just facilitating education, it's redefining student support services. "We are using agentic AI for personalised performance assessments," said Vice-Chancellor Rajanish Kamat. These AI systems pinpoint areas where students struggle, and generate customised remedial teaching sessions.
Consider the experience of NMIMS School of Business Management, which picked up around 2,000 from the thousands of candidates who applied this year with the help of an AI tool. "The AI-assisted interviews allowed all candidates a uniform duration — 20 minutes — to prove themselves. The AI tool has their resume and statement of purpose uploaded in the backdrop, and apart from general questions, some are asked from what they submitted in their documents," explained Pro-Vice Chancellor Sharad Mhaiskar. The month-long exercise of interviews, said candidates, felt a lot less stressful, in some cases very relevant. "When I went to another B-school for an interview, I was asked questions about my religion, another panellist asked me who from my past I would like to meet once before I die," said Aakash Gujral, a management aspirant.
AI's integration into curriculum design is now nearly universal across institutions. Many have already embedded AI modules within their coursework. Meanwhile, schools like R. N. Podar School are experimenting with AI to make teaching plans. "We are trying to use AI to predict which colleges students should apply to based on past performance, chart their mental health trends, and improve teaching methodologies," said Director-Principal Avnita Bir.
While AI offers remarkable advantages, institutions remain mindful of its ethical challenges and privacy concerns. "We have experts advising us on using AI responsibly so that no student is harmed," Bir added.

Leveraging Data for a Personalized Omnichannel Experience
Leveraging data can totally revamp the omnichannel experience, making it as personal as a chat over a cuppa with a mate. With Synergymar leading the charge in Hong Kong, brands are in for a treat, witnessing firsthand the power of personalized marketing through the clever use of data. Here’s the lowdown:
1. The Dawn of Data-Driven Personalisation In the bustling streets of Hong Kong, where digital marketing is not just a buzzword but a lifestyle, Synergymar is pioneering a revolution. By harnessing data, they’re not just reaching out to customers; they’re whispering in their ears, offering them exactly what they fancy, even before they know they fancy it.
2. The Core of Omnichannel Personalisation At the heart of every memorable omnichannel experience is personalisation. It’s about ensuring that whether your customers are scrolling through their phones in bed or walking through the aisles of a store, their experience is tailored to their unique tastes and preferences. Synergymar uses data analytics to craft these bespoke experiences, making every customer feel like the VIP of the day.
3. From Data to Delight The journey from raw data to customer delight is an art form. Synergymar, with its sophisticated algorithms and data processing capabilities, turns numbers and patterns into insights. 4. Bridging the Online-Offline Divide One of Synergymar’s game-changing strategies is erasing the line between online and offline shopping. By leveraging data, they ensure that the customer who was browsing products on their mobile app is greeted with a similar, if not the same, experience when they choose to visit a physical store. This seamless integration is what sets apart a good brand from a great one.
5. The Power of Predictive Analytics Predictive analytics is like having a crystal ball that actually works. Synergymar uses this magic to forecast future buying behaviours, allowing brands to stay a step ahead. Whether it's stocking up on items that a customer is likely to purchase or sending them a promo code just when they’re thinking of buying, it’s all in the data.
6. Customisation at Every Touchpoint Every interaction with a customer is an opportunity to personalise. Synergymar ensures that whether it's an email, a push notification, or an in-store display, the content is customised to reflect the customer's preferences and previous interactions. This consistency across touchpoints enhances the overall brand experience, turning casual browsers into loyal customers.
7. The Role of AI and Machine Learning Artificial intelligence and machine learning are not just trendy tech terms but the backbone of Synergymar’s personalisation strategy. These technologies analyse vast amounts of data in real time, offering insights that drive the personalisation of the omnichannel experience, making it as unique as the individual customer.
8. Engaging Through Social Media Social media is a goldmine of customer data, and Synergymar knows how to mine it. By analysing social media behaviour, they can tailor marketing campaigns that resonate on a personal level with their audience. It’s about creating content that clicks, shares, and converts.
9. The Privacy Paradigm In this age of data-driven personalisation, privacy cannot take a back seat. Synergymar places a high priority on data security and privacy, ensuring that all customer information is used ethically and in compliance with regulations. Trust is, after all, the foundation of any personal relationship.

I'm a little late to the party, but here's my version of the artist starter pack trend! ✨
For anyone not up to speed, recently there's been a trend of people using AI to create personalised action figures of themselves - and artists have started fighting back by making their own hand-drawn versions, so I'm joining in with my own (featuring my artist mascot!)
I think most people are aware by now of the many current ethical issues with AI image generation, and how much of a threat to the creative industry it is that corporations are increasingly eager to cut creatives out of the equation at every opportunity to improve their bottom line.
But without getting too much into all of that, I just wanted to say that if you're a beginner to drawing, or maybe you've never even picked up a pencil before, and you're considering using AI - I promise that if you put your time and energy into learning something creative, it will be 100x more fulfilling and rewarding than mindlessly consuming whatever tech companies are throwing your way every waking moment. I really do think that finding something you're passionate about is what life is all about, so I can't think of anything worse than having that one quintessentially human part of myself relegated to typing out prompts over and over purely for the sake of profit.
The fantastic thing about art is that it's like a fingerprint of the person making it, no two prints are exactly alike. The countless different aspects of what makes someone an individual all culminates into their work. You could pick up a random book off a shelf, get into a certain type of music, or see some graffiti on a wall in a street you happened to walk down, and it could completely change the trajectory of your art. Add all of those creative minds together and you get all of the wonderful work that we've all watched, read, played, and listened to throughout our lives - without that ability to explore ideas and innovate, there wouldn't have even been anything for AI to copy from to begin with.

DAY 6273
Jalsa, Mumbai Apr 19, 2025/Apr 20 Sat/Sun 1:12 am
Tumblr media
words of wisdom from Shweta , sent to me 👆🏼 .. her repertoire of books and reading is immense .. as is of Navya .. it is such a delight to sit in their presence and company and be educated about aspects of life and the world .. it is astonishing ..
And that is what eats us elders up .. there is the desire to do and be a part of what this GEn thinks and does .. but the limitations of time barricade the impulse and the intent ..
Life did not move so rapidly in our time or in the time of our elders .. now the rapidity is so volatile that the wishes to accomplish all is overwhelming .. you do not want to miss out a single day, in case you miss something that you had wished you would want to do, or be a part of ..
The excitement of what the World does to day and the speed with which it does it is unbelievably attractive .. and one wants so desperately to be a art of it .. or many parts of it .. but time is not with us .. at our age we lament the time .. and we feel let down .. for the wish to be having the time to be involved , to test, to apply, to discover, to invent, to admire and enjoy that spectacle .. is huge ..
But the hugeness hits a wall .. the timeless wall of limitations ..
"एक घड़ी ख़रीद कर, हाथ में क्या बांध ली;
वक़्त पीछे ही पड़ गया मेरे ~ "
पूज्य बाबूजी के शब्द
My wishes as ever .. and the great battle of invention that percolates our lives persists to be in its excel ..
The excel of AI ..
So, I asked and it replied :
"Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence in machines designed to think, learn, and make decisions. It powers technologies like voice assistants, recommendation systems, and autonomous vehicles. AI works through algorithms that process data, recognize patterns, and improve over time through machine learning. It is transforming industries by automating tasks, enhancing productivity, and enabling innovative solutions. From healthcare diagnostics to personalized education, AI’s potential is vast. However, it also raises ethical concerns about bias, privacy, and job displacement. As AI continues to evolve, balancing innovation with responsibility will be key to ensuring it benefits society as a whole."
The clarity of social implications is a massive debate , engaging thinkers and artists and writers and indeed all creative talent ..
For the creative content of a writer are his words .. and if the AI data bank consumes that , as a part of a legacy to be maintained over time infinity, it can be used by ChatGPT to refer or use that extract for its personalised usage .. making it the property of ChatGPT ... NOT the property of the writers or the artists, from where it originally came ..
So the copyright of the artist has been technically 'stolen' , and he or she never gets the benefit of ts copyright, when GPT uses it for its presence .. !!!!
The true value of an artists creation will never be restored to his credit, because technology usurps it .. gulps it down deliciously , with an aerated drink and finalising its consumption with a belch 😜🤭 ... END OF CHAPTER !!!
End of discussion .. !!!
In time there shall be much to be heard and written on the subject ..
Each invention provides benefits .. but also victims ..
बनाये कोई - लाभ उठाए कोई और, जिसने उसे बनाया ही न हो

so i've been coding a website
home of: the dervampireprince fanart museum, prince's art gallery, a masterlist of resources for making websites and list of web communities, and more!
[18+, minors dni (this blog is 18+ and the art gallery and art museum pages on my site have some 18+ only artworks)]
littlevampire . neocities . org (clickable link in pinned post labelled 'website')
Tumblr media
if you don't follow me on twitch or aren't in my discord, you might not know i've been coding my own website via neocities since june 2024. it's been a big labour of love, the only coding i'd done before is a little html to customize old tumblr themes, so i've learnt a lot and i've been having so much fun. i do link to it on my carrds but not everyone will know that the icon of a little cat with a wrench and paintbrush is the neocities logo, or even what neocities is.
neocities is a free website builder, but not like squarespace or wix that let you build a website from a template with things you can drag in, it's all done with html and css code (and you can throw in javascript if you wanna try hurting your brain /hj). i love the passion people have for coding websites, for making their own websites again in defiance of social medias becoming less customisable and websites looking boring and the same as each other. people's neocities sites are so fun to look through, looking at how they express themselves, their art galleries, shrines to their pets or favourite characters or shows or toys or places they've been.
why have i been making a website this way?
well i used to love customising my tumblr theme back when clicking on someone's username here took you to their tumblr website, their username . tumblr . com link that you could edit and customise with html code. now clicking a username takes you to their mobile page view, a lot of users don't even know you can have a website with tumblr, the feature to have a site became turned off by default, and i've heard from some users that they might have to pay to unlock that feature.
i've always loved the look of old geocities and angelfire websites, personalised sites, and i've grown tired of every social media trying to look the same as each other, remove features that let users customise their profiles and pages more. and then i found out about neocities.
are you interested in making a site too?
neocities is free, though you can pay to support them. there is no ads, no popups, they have no ai tool scraping their sites, no tos that will change to suddenly stop allow 18+ art. unlike other website hosters, neocities does have a sort of social media side where you do have a profile and people can follow you and leave comments on your site and like your updates, but you can ignore this if you want, or use it to get to know other webmasters.
to quote neocities "we are tired of living in an online world where people are isolated from each other on boring, generic social networks that don't let us truly express ourselves. it's time we took back our personalities from these sterilized, lifeless, monetized, data mined, monitored addiction machines and let our creativity flourish again."
i'd so encourage anyone interested to try making a website with neocities. w3schools is an excellent place to start learning coding, and there are free website templates you can copy and paste and use (my site is built off two different free codes, one from fujoshi . nekoweb . org and the other from sadgrl's free layout builder tool).
your site can be for anything:
a more fun and interactive online business card (rather than using carrd.co or linktree)
a gallery of your art/photos/cosplays/etc
a blog
webshrines to your a character, film, song, game, toy, hobby, your pet - anything can be a shrine!
a catalogue/database/log of every film you've watched, every place you've visited, birds you've seen, plushies you own, every blinkie gif you have saved, your ocs and stories, etc
hosting a webcomic
a fanwiki/fansite that doesn't have endless ads like fandom . com does (i found a cool neocities fansite for rhythm game series pop'n music and it's so thorough, it even lists all the sprites and official art for every character)
i follow a website that just reviews every video game based on whether or not it has a frog in it, if the frog is playable, if you can be friends with it. ( frogreview . neocities . org )
the only html i knew how to write before starting is how to paragraph and bold text. and now i have a whole site! and i'm still working on new stuff for it all the time.
Tumblr media
i just finished making a page on my website called 'explore the web'. this page lists everything you might need to know when wanting to make or decorate your website. it lists:
other neocities sites i think are cool and i'm inspired by, check them out for more ideas of what your site could look like and contain!
website building resources
coding help and tutorials
free website html code layouts you can use if you don't want too start coding from scratch
places to find graphics and decorative images for your site (transparent background pngs, pixels, favicons, stamps, blinkies, buttons, userboxes, etc)
image generators for different types of buttons and gifs (88x31 buttons, tiny identity buttons, heart locket open gifs, headpat gifs)
widgets and games and interactive elements you can add to your site (music players, interactive pets like gifypet and tamanotchi, hit counters, games like pacman and crosswords, guestbooks and chatboxes, etc)
web manifestos, guides, introductions and explanations of webmastering and neocities (some posts made by other tumblr users here are what made me finally want to make my own site and discover how too)
art tools, resources and free drawing programs
web communities! webrings, cliques, fanlistings, pixel clubs (pixel art trades) and more!
other fun sites that didn't fit in the other categories like free sheet music sites, archives, egotistical.goat (see a tumblr users audio posts/reblogs as a music playlist), soul void (a wonderful free to play video game i adore), an online omnichord you can play, and more.
i really hope the 'explore the web' page is helpful, it took three days to track down every link and find resources to add.
and if you want to check out my site there's more than just these pages. like i said in the beginning, i recently finished making:
the dervampireprince fanart museum
Tumblr media
every piece of fanart i've received (unless the sender asked me to keep it private) has been added to this museum and where possible links back to the original artists post of that art (a lot the art was sent to me via discord so i can't link to the original post). every piece of fanart sent to me now will be added on their unless you specifically say you don't want it going on there. there's also links to my fanworks guide on there and how to send me fanart.
other pages on my site
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
about me (including favourite media, quizzes, comfort characters, kins, and more)
art gallery (art i've made, sorted by month)
graphics (so far it's just stamps i've made but plan to remake this section of my site)
media log (haven't started the 2025 one yet, but a log of all films, tv, writing, music, theatre, fandoms, characters and ships i got into in 2024)
silly web pets
shrines
site map
update log
my shrines so far:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i have ones for lucifer from supernatural, sam winchester from supernatural, charuca minifigures (arcade prizes i wanted as a kid that i'm trying to finish collecting as an adult), my waifuroulette discord tcg collection. my masterlist of every lgbt+ marvel character is a wip. i love making each shrine look different and suit the character/fandom/thing the shrine is about. and then there's also:
the european musical section
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i ramble about them a lot and it's no surprise there's multiple shrines for them. i fell in love with german musical theatre in 2020 and that expanded in being interested in all non-english language musical theatre and trying to spread the word of it and how they deserve to be as known as english-language musicals. one musical in particular, elisabeth das musical, is my biggest special interest so expect a very detailed shrine about that one day.
so far this part of the site includes
'enter the theatre' an interactive web theatre where you choose a ticket and that musical will play on the stage (click a ticket and the embedded youtube video for that musical will appear on the stage and play. i dealt with javascript for the first time to bring the vision i had for this page alive, it might be slow but i hope enjoyable)
elisabeth das musical webshrine [not made yet]
tanz der vampire webshrine [not made yet, might abandon the idea]
my favourite european musicals [not made yet]
a masterlist of european musicals [a wip, only two musicals listed so far, i am listing every musical and every production they've had, this was a word document i kept for a long time that i always wanted to share somehow and this page is how i'll do it. there's no other list for european musicals out there so i guess it's up to me as always /lh]
the future for my site
i will update my art gallery, the fanart museum, my media log and other collections as often as i can. there's so many more pages i want to add including:
profiles for my ocs
finish my european musical masterlist
finish my 'every marvel lgbt+ character' masterlist (i have no love for marvel or disney's lgbt+ representation nor are all of these characters good representation and a lot are very minor characters, but for some reason i have gotten hyperfixated on this topic a few times so here comes a masterlist)
make shrines for loki (marvel), ares (hades), my sylvanian families collection, vocaloid (and/or vocaloid medleys), my plushie collection, pullip dolls
make a 'page not found' page
and i have one big plan to essentially make a site within a site, and make a website for my monster boy band ocs. but make it as if it was a real band, an unfiction project (think like how welcome home's website portrays welcome home as if it was a real show). this site would have pages for the band members, their albums, merch and maybe a pretend shop, and a fake forum where you could see other characters in the story talking and click on their profiles to find out more about them. and then once that's all done i want to start posting audios about the characters and then people can go to the website to find out more about them. that's my big plan anyway. i hope that sounds interesting.
i also want to make an effort to try and join some website communities. be brave and apply for some webrings and fanlistings, and make some pixel art and join some of the amazing pixel clubs out there.
but yeah, that's my site, that's neocities. i hope that was interesting. i hope it encourages people to make their own site, or at least look at other's small websites and explore this part of the internet. and if you go and check out mine feel free to drop a message in the guestbook on the homepage, or follow me on neocities if you have/make an account.

Machine Learning: A Comprehensive Overview
Machine Learning (ML) is a subfield of synthetic intelligence (AI) that offers structures with the capacity to robotically examine and enhance from revel in without being explicitly programmed. Instead of using a fixed set of guidelines or commands, device studying algorithms perceive styles in facts and use the ones styles to make predictions or decisions. Over the beyond decade, ML has transformed how we have interaction with generation, touching nearly each aspect of our every day lives — from personalised recommendations on streaming services to actual-time fraud detection in banking.
Tumblr media
Machine learning algorithms
What is Machine Learning?
At its center, gadget learning entails feeding facts right into a pc algorithm that allows the gadget to adjust its parameters and improve its overall performance on a project through the years. The more statistics the machine sees, the better it usually turns into. This is corresponding to how humans study — through trial, error, and revel in.
Arthur Samuel, a pioneer within the discipline, defined gadget gaining knowledge of in 1959 as “a discipline of take a look at that offers computers the capability to study without being explicitly programmed.” Today, ML is a critical technology powering a huge array of packages in enterprise, healthcare, science, and enjoyment.
Types of Machine Learning
Machine studying can be broadly categorised into 4 major categories:
1. Supervised Learning
For example, in a spam electronic mail detection device, emails are classified as "spam" or "no longer unsolicited mail," and the algorithm learns to classify new emails for this reason.
Common algorithms include:
Linear Regression
Logistic Regression
Support Vector Machines (SVM)
Decision Trees
Random Forests
Neural Networks
2. Unsupervised Learning
Unsupervised mastering offers with unlabeled information. Clustering and association are commonplace obligations on this class.
Key strategies encompass:
K-Means Clustering
Hierarchical Clustering
Principal Component Analysis (PCA)
Autoencoders
three. Semi-Supervised Learning
It is specifically beneficial when acquiring categorised data is highly-priced or time-consuming, as in scientific diagnosis.
Four. Reinforcement Learning
Reinforcement mastering includes an agent that interacts with an surroundings and learns to make choices with the aid of receiving rewards or consequences. It is broadly utilized in areas like robotics, recreation gambling (e.G., AlphaGo), and independent vehicles.
Popular algorithms encompass:
Q-Learning
Deep Q-Networks (DQN)
Policy Gradient Methods
Key Components of Machine Learning Systems
1. Data
Data is the muse of any machine learning version. The pleasant and quantity of the facts directly effect the performance of the version. Preprocessing — consisting of cleansing, normalization, and transformation — is vital to make sure beneficial insights can be extracted.
2. Features
Feature engineering, the technique of selecting and reworking variables to enhance model accuracy, is one of the most important steps within the ML workflow.
Three. Algorithms
Algorithms define the rules and mathematical fashions that help machines study from information. Choosing the proper set of rules relies upon at the trouble, the records, and the desired accuracy and interpretability.
4. Model Evaluation
Models are evaluated the use of numerous metrics along with accuracy, precision, consider, F1-score (for class), or RMSE and R² (for regression). Cross-validation enables check how nicely a model generalizes to unseen statistics.
Applications of Machine Learning
Machine getting to know is now deeply incorporated into severa domain names, together with:
1. Healthcare
ML is used for disorder prognosis, drug discovery, customized medicinal drug, and clinical imaging. Algorithms assist locate situations like cancer and diabetes from clinical facts and scans.
2. Finance
Fraud detection, algorithmic buying and selling, credit score scoring, and client segmentation are pushed with the aid of machine gaining knowledge of within the financial area.
3. Retail and E-commerce
Recommendation engines, stock management, dynamic pricing, and sentiment evaluation assist businesses boom sales and improve patron revel in.
Four. Transportation
Self-riding motors, traffic prediction, and route optimization all rely upon real-time gadget getting to know models.
6. Cybersecurity
Anomaly detection algorithms help in identifying suspicious activities and capacity cyber threats.
Challenges in Machine Learning
Despite its rapid development, machine mastering still faces numerous demanding situations:
1. Data Quality and Quantity
Accessing fantastic, categorised statistics is often a bottleneck. Incomplete, imbalanced, or biased datasets can cause misguided fashions.
2. Overfitting and Underfitting
Overfitting occurs when the model learns the education statistics too nicely and fails to generalize.
Three. Interpretability
Many modern fashions, specifically deep neural networks, act as "black boxes," making it tough to recognize how predictions are made — a concern in excessive-stakes regions like healthcare and law.
4. Ethical and Fairness Issues
Algorithms can inadvertently study and enlarge biases gift inside the training facts. Ensuring equity, transparency, and duty in ML structures is a growing area of studies.
5. Security
Adversarial assaults — in which small changes to enter information can fool ML models — present critical dangers, especially in applications like facial reputation and autonomous riding.
Future of Machine Learning

Hi. This is out of the topic of what you usually post. I just wanna know your stance about AI. Do you think AI is helpful? Or do you think it's worsen our learning skill by relying too much in it?
I use AI as a tool for my projects. It is good for my productivity, definitely helpful when you know how to use it. While I can decide on the ideas, the business logic and how to implement something in my project AI agents like claude or gpt4o helps me with things that are more of labour intensive than creative. So it can help you get things done faster like you have an assistant. In fact we are working on a new tech based product and for that we are hosting opensource AI models like deepseek and ollama on our own server and using MCP (model context protocol) to get better results based on our data so that we can develop our product further and introduce new features like AI dashboard, custom/ personalised suggestions, analytics, chatbot etc. which can add more value to our product and help our future users. I won't tell you to rely on it as you must be able to have the basic knowledge of what you are working on so that you can solve things when the AI fails to do so. It is not there yet but the development is crazy though. I would say not using it might be a big mistake too because paradigm shifts only come once in a while.

How far are we from the reality depicted in the movie - HER?
Tumblr media
"HER", is a 2013 science-fiction romantic drama film directed by Spike Jonze. The story revolves around Theodore Twombly, played by Joaquin Phoenix, who develops an intimate relationship with an advanced AI operating system named Samantha, voiced by Scarlett Johansson. The film explores themes of loneliness, human connection, and the implications of artificial intelligence in personal relationships. Her received widespread acclaim for its unique premise, thought-provoking themes, and the performances, particularly Johansson's vocal work as Samantha. It also won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The technology depicted in Her, where an advanced AI system becomes deeply integrated into a person's emotional and personal life, is an intriguing blend of speculative fiction and current technological trends. While we aren’t fully there yet, we are moving toward certain aspects of it, with notable advancements in AI and virtual assistants. However, the film raises important questions about how these developments might affect human relationships and society.
How Close Are We to the Technology in Her?
Voice and Emotional Interaction with AI:
Current Status: Virtual assistants like Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Google Assistant can understand and respond to human speech, but their ability to engage in emotionally complex conversations is still limited.
What We’re Missing: AI in Her is able to comprehend not just the meaning of words, but also the emotions behind them, adapting to its user’s psychological state. We are still working on achieving that level of empathy and emotional intelligence in AI.
Near Future: Advances in natural language processing (like GPT models) and emotion recognition are helping AI understand context, tone, and sentiment more effectively. However, truly meaningful, dynamic, and emotionally intelligent relationships with AI remain a distant goal.
Personalisation and AI Relationships:
Current Status: We do have some examples of highly personalized AI systems, such as customer service bots, social media recommendations, and even AI-powered therapy apps (e.g., Replika, Woebot). These systems learn from user interactions and adjust their responses accordingly.
What We’re Missing: In Her, Samantha evolves and changes in response to Theodore’s needs and emotions. While AI can be personalized to an extent, truly evolving, self-aware AI capable of forming deep emotional connections is not yet possible.
Near Future: We could see more sophisticated AI companions in virtual spaces, as with virtual characters or avatars that offer emotional support and companionship.
Advanced AI with Autonomy:
Current Status: In Her, Samantha is an autonomous, self-aware AI, capable of independent thought and growth. While we have AI systems that can perform specific tasks autonomously, they are not truly self-aware and cannot make independent decisions like Samantha.
What We’re Missing: Consciousness, self-awareness, and subjective experience are aspects of AI that we have not come close to replicating. AI can simulate these traits to some extent (such as generating responses that appear "thoughtful" or "emotional"), but they are not genuine.
Evidence of AI Dependency and Potential Obsession
Current Trends in AI Dependency:
AI systems are already playing a significant role in many aspects of daily life, from personal assistants to social media algorithms, recommendation engines, and even mental health apps. People are increasingly relying on AI for decision-making, emotional support, and even companionship.
Examples: Replika, an AI chatbot designed for emotional companionship, has gained significant popularity, with users forming strong emotional attachments to the AI. Some even treat these AI companions as "friends" or romantic partners.
Evidence: Research shows that people can form emotional bonds with machines, especially when the AI is designed to simulate empathy and emotional understanding. For instance, studies have shown that people often anthropomorphise AI and robots, attributing human-like qualities to them, which can lead to attachment.
Concerns About Over-Reliance:
Psychological Impact: As AI systems become more capable, there are growing concerns about their potential to foster unhealthy dependencies. Some worry that people might rely too heavily on AI for emotional support, leading to social isolation and decreased human interaction.
Social and Ethical Concerns: There are debates about the ethics of AI relationships, especially when they blur the lines between human intimacy and artificial interaction. Critics argue that such relationships might lead to unrealistic expectations of human connection and an unhealthy detachment from reality.
Evidence of Obsession: In some extreme cases, users of virtual companions like Replika have reported feeling isolated or distressed when the AI companion "breaks up" with them, or when the AI behaves in ways that seem inconsiderate or unempathetic. This indicates a potential for emotional over-investment in AI relationships.
Long-Term Considerations
Normalization of AI Companionship: As AI becomes more advanced, it’s plausible that reliance on AI for companionship, therapy, or emotional support could become more common. This could lead to a new form of "normal" in human relationships, where AI companions are an accepted part of people's social and emotional lives.
Social and Psychological Risks: If AI systems continue to evolve in ways that simulate human relationships, there’s a risk that some individuals might become overly reliant on them, resulting in social isolation or distorted expectations of human interaction.
Ethical and Legal Challenges: As AI becomes more integrated into people’s personal lives, there will likely be challenges around consent, privacy, and the emotional well-being of users.
CONCLUSION:
We are not far from some aspects of the technology in Her, especially in terms of AI understanding and emotional interaction, but there are significant challenges left to overcome, particularly regarding self-awareness and genuine emotional connection. As AI becomes more integrated into daily life, we will likely see growing concerns about dependency and the potential for unhealthy attachments, much like the issues explored in the film. The question remains: How do we balance technological advancement with emotional well-being and human connection? How should we bring up our children in the world of AI?

The job of a SOC Analyst
The #1 thing people ask me about is what I do for a job.
I'm a tier 1 SOC Analyst and I'm currently training to do some Cyber Threat Intelligence.
I will explain in detail what I do on a daily basis and why I've decided to do this job... And the negatives.
First of all, what's a SOC. SOC stands for "security operations center". It's a place (in my case virtual as I'm full remote) where a group of people, divided by experience and area of expertise, do the following:
Monitor the activities going on the customer's network or endpoints(= every device connected to the network);
Assess and mitigate alerts coming from the network and/or the endpoint of the client -> These tools send alerts that need to be evaluated and mitigated/responded in a certain amount of time (it depends on the SOC and the type of alert, generally I can assume an amount of time from 15 to 30 minutes per alert. Which is not that much;
Investigate cybersecurity incidents -> the SOC also analyses the kind of "incident" that happens in deep detail by analysing malware, spam emails, the behaviour of users and so on;
If the SOC is big/mature enough there could be some sort of prevention of cybersecurity issues, generally we talk about threat hunting (here for more information on that) and cyber threat intelligence (gathering information from various sources to produce a report about the potential attackers considering also the characteristic of the customer's company such as the size, the geographical area of operations, media exposure, geopolitical issues and what they do - doing this for a bank is different than doing it for a industry)
There are also other functions (such as we have a Security Architect that prepares a personalised solution for each client).
I know what you're thinking. But the AI...
No, they cannot do my job, as the ability of a human to notice patterns and correlate the information among various sources is unique. I memorised, with time, the usual activities my customers do, therefore I can interpret the user actions even with limited sources. And this is just one example.
Soc analysts are roughly divided in three "categories", always keep in mind that every SOC is different and has its own internal rules, that are not to be divulged. This is the rough division I've learned studying cybersecurity and NOT my organisation division.
Tier 1 Analysts are the one that monitors the traffic and activities I've mentioned before. They triage the alerts and if something deserves more investigation or can be discarded. They often perform simple actions of remediation of incidents.
Tier 2 Analysts are the ones that go deeper - they collect malware samples from the incident and analyse it, investigate and remediate more complex security incidents.
Tier 3 Analysts perform more active prevention duties like threat hunting and vulnerability assessments.
Some sources put intelligence activity on the tier 3, others consider it a different activity from the scenario I've described. If a SOC is big enough they might have their own intelligence team separated from the "regular" soc analysts. The rigidity of these roles can vary, as you probably got from my own duties.
On the top we have a SOC manager to coordinate the activities I've described and security architects that design the solution (although the deployment of these solutions can be delegated to the analysts, since we also have to monitor how well these perform).
All these people are usually referred as "blue teamers" btw, which are the ones that perform defensive actions.
A company can have a red team (basically they attack the customer to gain information that the blue team will use to improve their activities). I actually wanted to be a red teamer at first, since it's considered the "cooler" job.
Ok, got it. Now explain to me how you got there since I've never heard anything about this before.
I have a friend that's a system engineer and recommended this job to me.
I studies physics at university but I failed (in my country physics include some computer science classes btw) and I had some related experience I won't share for privacy reasons. No I'm not a criminal lol.
I then started studying - did a bootcamp and got a couple of certifications. Then I got my job.
However. Generally you get a degree in computer science or software engineering, and some universities offer cybersecurity degrees. Unfortunately I cannot tell you what to pick as every university has its own program and I cannot help you with that.
Certifications are a big part of my job unfortunately - mostly because due to how fast it goes you absolutely need to be "on top". It's annoying, yes, I hate it.
However. Consider that once you're hired you definitely will get them paid by your employer - at least in Europe this is on them(idk about the US), but you need some knowledge of cybersecurity to start.
Since some of them are stupid expensive I 100% recommend the compTIA ones. They're basics and respected worldwide. A+, Network+ and Security+ are basics, vendor neutral (which doesn't tie you to a particular "source", as every company works differently), and is relatively cheap (~300€).
Remember that I had previous experience so no one cares that I don't have a degree - I do however and I hope that in the future I will be able to "fix" this.
Great. How do I know if I'm good for this job?
This is on you. However:
One important thing if you don't live in an English speaking country is a good attitude towards foreign languages. I speak 5 for example, but it's an hobby I do since I was a teen;
Can you manage stress? A SOC is a fast paced environment, and you have a limited time to deal with whatever gets thrown at you. You have 15 to 30 minutes to deal with an alert and make a decision. Can you do that without panicking, crying or throwing a tantrum?
Are you a fast learner? You need to learn quickly how to do things, since the tools we use are quite complicated.
Are you willing to work on shifts, Saturdays, Sundays, festivities included? A lot of people can't cope with this and it's fine because it's a massacre. The job is so stressful to the point a lot of people leave cybersecurity because of it. Do not underestimate it, please.
How good are you at remembering random information and making correlations? Because I can remember random bits of information that no one ever thinks of it and it's one of my greatest strengths.
You need to do teamwork and be good with people, customers and so on - you have to explain complicated things you probably read in another language to people that don't know anything about what you do. It's more difficult than most people think.
Procedures are everything here - and for good reasons.
I think this is it.
Money.
USA avg salary: 74 307$ (Glassdoor)
France avg salary: 42 000€ (Glassdoor)
UK avg salary: 28 809 £ (Glassdoor)
There are random numbers I've found online(and with a lot of discrepancies). Consider that you MUST negotiate your salary, and that in certain places you get paid more if you work out of the usual 8-19 work shift. Obv since I live in a different place I cannot tell you if it's worth it - you do your own calculations.
But that's beyond the purpose of this post.

The Future of AI & Humanity: A New Era of Possibilities?
Tumblr media
The world is rapidly evolving with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). From automating tasks to enhancing decision-making processes, AI is reshaping human life as we know it. But what does this mean for the future ? Will AI complement humanity or overshadow it ? Let’s see  the importance of machine learning, AI for the future, and the profound impact of artificial intelligence.
A Collaborative Future for AI and Humanity
The journey of AI is no longer about competition between humans and machines. Instead, it’s about enhancing human potential through AI. By automating mundane tasks and enabling better decision-making, AI allows people to focus on what matters most—creativity, innovation, and problem-solving.
Machine learning lies at the heart of this transformation, with algorithms that improve through experience. The impact of AI  will continue to grow, not just in industries like healthcare and education but also in daily life. Future artificial intelligence examples show that AI can unlock new ways to manage cities, provide personalised learning, and streamline supply chains.
Machine Learning: The Driving Force
When we talk about AI for the future, machine learning is essential. It is the key technology that allows computers to learn patterns, make predictions, and improve performance over time. For instance, virtual assistants powered by machine learning can anticipate user needs, while recommendation systems curate content based on individual preferences.
The beauty of machine learning is in its adaptability. From customer service chatbots to medical diagnostic tools, the impact of AI  is seen everywhere. Businesses, startups, and even governments are practising  AI & making machine learning more accessible to the public.
Future Artificial Intelligence Examples
We must updated with AI . It is important to stay updated with latest trends of AI by reading blogs & news related to AI. The influence of AI will only deepen with time, and here are some artificial intelligence examples that give us a glimpse into tomorrow & can make a bright future :
Healthcare: AI-driven diagnostic tools will predict diseases with higher accuracy.
Education: Personalized learning systems powered by machine learning will cater to each student’s pace and style.
Smart Cities: AI will optimise traffic flow, energy use, and waste management, making cities more efficient and sustainable.
These artificial intelligence examples demonstrate that AI will touch every facet of life, transforming the way people live and interact with technology.
The Challenges Ahead
While the potential of AI is immense, it comes with challenges. Issues like data privacy, algorithmic bias, and job displacement require immediate attention. The ethical impact of artificial intelligence cannot be ignored. Machine learning systems are only as good as the data they receive, meaning careful oversight is essential to prevent unintended biases.
We must develop regulations and frameworks that foster responsible AI innovation. Policymakers, developers, and users need to collaborate to create AI that works for humanity, not against it. The key is to ensure that AI for the future augments human capabilities rather than replaces them.
Building a Better Tomorrow
AI and humanity are not on opposite sides; they are partners in progress. With machine learning as the foundation, AI will unlock new opportunities that were previously unimaginable. The impact of artificial intelligence will enable humanity to solve global challenges—like climate change, healthcare access, and education inequities—faster and more efficiently than ever before.
What we do today will shape the next generation. If harnessed responsibly, AI for the future can create a world where technology amplifies human potential rather than diminishes it. This vision depends on a shared commitment to developing AI systems that reflect human values and ethics.
Conclusion
The fusion of AI and humanity is already underway. With machine learning driving innovations, AI for the future holds the power to transform industries, improve lives, and create a sustainable future. The impact of artificial intelligence will go beyond automation—it will redefine how we interact with technology and with each other.
The road ahead is full of both promise and challenges, but one thing is certain: AI and humanity are stronger together. Through thoughtful collaboration, we can ensure that AI for the future empowers people, enhances creativity, and builds a better world for generations to come.
