It's Been a Minute
Wow, nearly a year since I posted anything. I hope I haven't lost my three readers.
2022 was a year, wasn't it. Is COVID 19 gone? Is is here and stronger than ever? Seems as if we are on the Carousel of Life (Thank you Joni Mitchell).
My personal journey, lots of money problems and yet we made it through the year. First time I ever met my Out Of Pocket Insuance expenses. November and December were nice not having to pay anything for health care services.
Anyway- from April through at least June I was hardly here. Admitted to a hospital close to my house after the headache thing, then no ability to eat or drink anything (not even vodka!) My abilities to walk just gradually went away by April and a 2nd visit to the ER.
The hospital where the parameds delivered me, from what my oldest tells me because I don't remember details of that visit at all, didn't want to admit me. They convinced the medical staff of my symptoms and that I was losing consciousness more and more and staff finally acquiesced to admitting me. r
After five days of trying to get me to eat and drink, hospital said, she's got to go to a SNF unit (Skilled Nursing Facility). I was no better, I think due to the hospital's negligence-another story-but there I went, to the old folk's home, the place where people go to die, nearly the most humiliating experience of my life.
It was from there, I had a neurosurgeon appointment. The SNF unit's driver, I think his name was Benny the Taxi, got me there, in a most unnerving process.
I tried to talk to the neurosurgeon, attempting to express my symptoms, couldn't think of the titles of some of my specialists, and I must have looked terrible. He said, "it looks to me like you need to be in a real hospital." Nearly crying, I responded with a pitiful, "Yes please!"
Once I was almost immediately admitted to the "real" hospital, so many things happened. I vaguely being taken to tests, many tests, and when in bed, so many blood tests, so many meds. I was pleasantly surprised that staff seemed to really care what happened to me.
Stay tuned...

i need an answer to something for writing purposes
say you have a tumor in your pituitary gland and you get surgery to get it removed
does your pituitary gland act as normal? are its different functions affected differently? for example, if the tumor was affecting a couple things, like idk,, your growth and your appetite, after getting the tumor removed would only one of those function normally? does it depend? what does it depend on?
i need answers that google is not giving to me

I'm tired of falling and tripping while I walk. So, I'm looking at some mobility aids and was wondering if anyone has recommendations. Also, ideas on how to decorate and make it my own are greatly appreciated! I just didn't plan on this being my reality at 24, and I want to make the best of it :) wishlist

Tuesday is magic skeleton day! You can do anything! Did you even know that your bones are 31 percent water? My Biodynamic Meditation this morning had a lot of Tide moving in my central energy channel. The swirliness settled in the lower part of my sacrum and then in my sphenoid. The sphenoid is a mostly hidden bone that many are unaware of. It sits behind our eyes and in front of our ears at the base of our brains. It’s shaped like a moth, with wings that come out to our temples and legs that extend down into the back of our upper jaws. Our internal jaw muscles are attached to the sphenoid. (My other specialty is TMJ Relief.) The sphenoid holds the pituitary in a cute little saddle! It touches 12 other cranial bones, and to craniosacral therapists, it’s “THE bone”. In craniosacral biodynamics, we work with the whole body and biofield…and our profession got its start from an investigation of the cranial bones well over a century ago. Today I could sense adjustments at the greater wings, particularly where they meet the temporals, on both sides at once. As I’ve mentioned before, I can sense my head slowly reshaping itself in these biodynamic meditations. This is likely from the challenge of being born as well as several previous head injuries. I don’t work with infants at present, but my officemate Liz Baker does. As for head injuries, it’s never too late for improvements. #biodynamicmeditation #craniosacralbiodynamics #craniosacraltherapy #craniosacral #cranio #bones #skeleton #tide #centralenergychannel #swirliness #inherent healing process #healingenergy #selfhealing #sphenoid #sacrum #pituitary #cranialbones #birth #headinjuries #infants (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnhZ2iRO1Rc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

So this is the answer to an ask that @wild-wombytch has sent me, and I chose to answer it in this format because the original ask contains a link to a post that I'd rather not share, to maintain respectful of OP.
Tumblr media
Thank you, I'm fine! and cool that you like the cat pictures ❤️ I'll make a separate post for you just containing cat pictures
Tumblr media
and thank you so much for saying that! ❤️❤️
yeah, so @wild-wombytch refers to a post that deals with a person who got a tumor from HRT. They have made a post in a mainstream trans subreddit and the people on there got mad at them, because they didn't want to recognise the downsides of HRT:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this is just a whole other level. People hating on OP because they got a brain tumor is so despicable. These people can rot in hell
(Also, if you want to use my post to make fun of OP for having a brain tumor, enjoy getting blocked 🥰 I try to make this a welcoming place for people who are transitioning, detransitioning or having problems with their medical transition. If you can't handle that, please fuck off)
The specific kind of tumor this person is talking about, a pituitary brain tumor, is (as stated) probably linked to HRT in trans women. This reminds me of the myriad of posts by trans women talking about galactorrhea. Galactorrhea refers to the spontaneous lactation without having given birth or breastfeeding a baby, which can occur in women and men. And what is the most common cause for Galactorrhea?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the most common cause of galactorrhea is a benign tumor in your brain. Even though benign tumors are not as dangerous as cancerous tumors, they can still cause severe dysfunction over time, because they can still grow slowly and compress vital areas of the brain. It's definetly not a topic to be joked about.
I was able to find a ton of "I am spontaneously lactating as a trans woman, is this normal"-posts in the span of seconds. Remember: Galactorrhea, a condition that is most commonly caused by a brain tumor. And what are the responses?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
keep in mind: this person probably had not only been lactating, but even had blood in their nipple discarge. Up to a fifth of women who have that sign of discharge have a malignant cause for it - I can't imagine that the prospect for biological males on HRT is much better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so yeah, instead of telling them to go see their doctor or anything, they link them to r/AdultBreastfeeding - it's a fetish subreddit for people who have a lactation fetish and want to induce lactation.
I mean, a large amount of the stuff I post here is kinda funny and absurd, but if you get a bit deeper in these online echochambers, it gets really dark real quick. Where did we go from "everyone should live their lives as they wish" to "downplaying brain cancer to own the terfs"? And this doesn't mean that every trans woman should immediately stop their HRT just to prevent that from happening. That's not what I'm saying here. I'm just saying that these people genuinely don't seem to care about anything other than their ideology, and even medical professionals are seen as "lying" and "bigoted", and people with brain tumors are accused of "attacking the trans community". How is this not a cult??
Also, I wish the person who made the original post all the best :) I hope they find people who support them and help them heal

Going to go to an MRI tomorrow for the first time in my life. As expected, I'm doing the advance panic thing, but not because of the MRI, but because I haven't been to that area of the hospital before, so in order to make it in time I must reserve at least half an hour extra to make sure I find the place, so I've checked the bus schedule probably like ten times today just to make sure I have enough buffer to get lost in the building.
Who wants to bet if I'll be sitting there a full hour before the appointment, just in case

I went to the neurosurgery office at UofM yesterday. We are going to do more bloodwork to see if it's a hormone-inducing tumor or just chilling. After that, I will see the endocrinologist next month and figure out the course of action because my prolactin levels are elevated but not enough to be a prolactinoma. if it's chilling I just get an MRI once a year. There just a lot of things going on in my body. I feel like my internal check engine light is on
