The idea being that after Shen Yuan abuses him, Bingge will be justified in reenacting his Shen Qingqiu Revenge Arc again and maybe finally feeling some closure about the whole thing.

Yes, this is a very deranged plan. No, no one is going to tell the emperor of the three realms that. Bingge also wants it to be clear that this has nothing whatsoever to do with his recent escapade in an alternate universe, except that he was inspired to find Shen Jiu's relative as a consequence of that. But he's absolutely sure that this guy is going to turn out just as rotten as his brother, given the opportunity. That is definitely the only reason he is doing this!

Flash forward about four years. Bingge's retainers are begging on their knees for him to actually come back and do some administrative work. The harem is running itself at this point and they're all very terrified of the situation with Liu Mingyan and Sha Hualing (i.e. ruling with lesbian iron fists) and whatever the heck Ning Yingying is up to (no one is certain but it's something). The outer provinces are rebelling. Mobei Jun's somehow found another weird human surnamed Shang to cavort with, except this one is basically running admin for the entire northern kingdom now and no one's even sure if they're fucking or if it's some kind of mind control situation or what.

Bingge is annoyed. He doesn't have a good explanation for why a bunch of demon lords would be showing up on the doorstep of Tiny Cultivation Sect to beg him for anything. They're going to spoil his cover! And they're interrupting his schedule! It's already four o'clock and he hasn't started on Shizun's dinner yet! Shoo! Get lost!

Anyway, eventually some of his demon followers get desperate and dramatically kidnap him. Shen Yuan is horrified and grieved when it seems that his precious disciple, so like white lotus Luo Binghe from the novel, has been captured by demons. He tries to track the assailants down, but they've covered their tracks too well. In the end, there's only one path left to him to pursue: taking this matter to the protagonist!

Yes, the protagonist! Because the thing is, Shen Yuan noticed the similarities between his disciple and the book character he so admired. Not only that, but he did manage to glimpse Bingge one time from afar. It wasn't anywhere near to a real interaction, but it was enough for him to notice the strong resemblance between the protagonist and the mistreated little lamb who showed up at his doorstep. A resemblance for which there can only be one explanation:

Shen Yuan's disciple is one of Binghe's kids!

Yes, he had it figured out since fairly early on. Not only was there a resemblance, and not only were their dispositions quite similar, but also the boy showed a lot of signs of some demonic heritage. Shen Yuan was just working up to broaching the subject, partly because he had been trying to avoid any direct or even indirect interactions with the emperor, and partly because he... became somewhat reluctant to part ways with his student. Sue him! He got attached! And anyway, he knew how missing child plots usually went. There was probably someone in the harem who was out for his disciple's blood, and it wouldn't be safe to send him back into that mess until he was strong enough to look after himself.

But as is inevitable, the plot seems to have reclaimed Shen Yuan's student all on its own.

He just... needs to make sure that it isn't a tragic outcome. It seems it falls on him to make the emperor aware of his son's survival, and subsequent peril, and help launch a rescue!

Which also means approaching Luo Binghe in person, which he knows is very risky indeed, due to his connection to the infamous Shen Qingqiu! He'd been avoiding the protagonist at all costs for that exact reason.

But if it's his only hope of rescuing his disciple, he will simply have to take the risk, and hope that enough time has passed that Luo Binghe doesn't read too much into a shared surname and a passing resemblance. Or that restoring the emperor's long-lost son to him will be worth seem lenience for the crime of being connected to Shen Qingqiu. Maybe if he's lucky, he will even be allowed to continue visiting his disciple! (Ha, yeah right! More likely, Luo Binghe's going to take his head for hiding his own kid from him for so long!)

Anyway, cue Luo Bingge running around swapping between his Emperor and Disciple forms, dramatically trying to orchestrate a situation where he can fake the emperor's death and go back to the sect with Shizun as his disciple, or something, only for it all to blow up in his face because Shen Yuan keeps flinging himself between Bingge and potentially fatal threats that could plausibly kill him???

Emperor Tim is trying very hard to split his time between earth and the empire and doing a great job, especially after he got his "game" set up to help him streamline the workload.

However there is something that he's not able to really handle virtually and that is the tribute that his various planets keep sending him. He does not want tribute and has specifically asked, multiple times, that they stop.

His planets do not stop. His planets are too used to tyrants who would tell them to stop tribute and then use the lack of tribute as an excuse to increase taxes or do some other awful thing. Of course the tyrant would still find some other reason to do awful things but they aren't giving openings for extra excuses! So while Tim is very much a baby and they're pretty sure he legitimately doesn't want tribute, it's already been budgeted and easier to give it to their beloved emperor than to figure out what to do with the tribute if they were to keep it. There's still a lot of corruption to clear out and it's slow going. Also, they legitimately enjoy spoiling their emperor and his consorts.

So every year, sometimes twice a year, Tim has to go to the empire and be basically presented with birthday presents and unbirthday presents and figure out what to do with them while giving his planets the appropriate thanks that they crave from him. He has many statues that could arguably be depicting him. He has many people who have signed contracts of service to him and who are determined to fulfill those contracts. He has many things that are shiny and probably very valuable. He has many hats made of shiny things.

Eventually Tim will be able to bargain down the tributes to arts and crafts made by school kids and have just a collection of "thank you emperor" cards and drawings he keeps stashed away in the many palaces that have his name as the owner.

Tim has an entire art museum dedicated to the arts and crafts he gets as tributes. Some of the statues are there as well, but he mainly likes touring the plethora of objects the kids have created for him. Mainly because kids are hilarious and blunt sometimes.

Another added level is that Tim is human while the kids decidedly aren't. Therefore, their "portraits" of Tim can be anything in the universe. He can have more limbs, eyes, be blue, be a snail-like being, etc. It's brings a smile to his face to see the weird forms these kids think are the Emperor as well as the absolute blunt shit the kids say.

Just walls covered of crayon (or whatever is the universe equivalent) paper drawings and letters. Tim gets a laugh out of the weird shit they say, "Thanks for not taking our cow. The last one took Bay-Lee. I'm glad they aren't you."

Also, because he has sections just dedicated to people's praise of him, there's definitely been some misconceptions about that. Tim sees it as the equivalent of hanging your kid's drawing on the fridge. Others might see it as him wanting an entire building dedicated to him.

I need to put this to words because it’s all over my favorite tags. But first, an obligatory Benedict gif because I can’t wait for him to lead S4.

Presumably, this is a boarding school.

Which means Charles is a day student, probably on some type of scholarship since that would explain the fear he has of his dad (hard to believe he’d be quite that terrified of a man he only saw about 3x/year if he was a boarder), the reason why the school not only covered up his death but was able to do it successfully (he was already an “other” within the school community, likely viewed as unequal—at least behind his back—which is why his so-called friends felt comfortable *stoning him* in a pond). I think this also helps explain why his parents didn’t press the school to do more—his dad was likely glad not to have to pay whatever part of the fee wasn’t covered by scholarship & when the school made it clear there Would Be No Further Discussion On The Topic, his parents (i.e. dad, who likely bullied his mom into going along with it) just accepted that their “wild” child just fucked off somewhere to follow his “delinquent” ways.

But—he also probably wasn’t the best/most committed student (this tracks with Edwin getting upset about how all the books at the office “aren’t just for show”) AND also probably explains why he didn’t actually *read* all of O&E. it’s very clear the recent shortfall in funding has been a result of donors not liking some of Dr Hill’s more controversial and less scientifically backed comments at presentations or interviews but he’s Dean Halsey’s friend so he won’t get rid of him despite Meg urging him that the hospital is more important than some crank loser

Dan is less shocked and disturbed by the horrors he’s an accomplice to and more enraptured and awe-struck by it. he finds the twisting entrails in a stomach a hypnotic maze. he likes to smell the organs. Herbert’s like “finally. a freak like me” it’s clear he was already fucked up before West showed up, something he fretted to Meg over but Herbert adores it and praises it

they still have to save Meg from Dr Hill but they all survive and the scene isn’t played for laughs nor is gratuitous, and Meg gets a gun and gets to kill Hill herself

I hate matpat because he admitted to not playing the games he makes theories on. like?? that’s his job and he can’t even do it right??? he lacks reading comprehension skills, like I swear he does

oh you don't have to swear, he does. fully. i'm not into hollow knight personally, but last time a post of mine critiquing his theories blew up, i got a lot of notes saying that his hollow theory (or at least one of them? idk if he's done more) is wildly despised within the community because it's apparently debunked in like. literally the first cutscene or something.

i've said this before, but it's kind of a weird line between "he does not have media comprehension skills" and "he DOES realize these things, he just doesn't give a shit and will say anything to make his theory make sense". for example, something i do know well: fnaf. in his like, "final timeline" or whatever the fuck, he creates an entire narrative about elizabeth and the funtimes being LATE in the timeline, taking place after the crying child's death. however, in that very video, he points out the OVERWHELMING amount of evidence that the crying child witnessed elizabeth's death, from the nightmares having stomachs on their mouths (elizabeth was scooped through baby's stomach) to the fact that the game constantly tells the crying child to "remember what he saw" or something loosely along those lines. he is AWARE of the fact that these things exist within the text, however, he has this fucking superiority complex that it doesn't matter, because HIS theory is CLEARLY right, these very important lore texts must've just been bullshit.

now that sonic prime is over im even more confused about people insisting that its canon and will tie into the game timeline somehow and its place in the timeline will be clear by time the show ends . like all the little contradictions that make it hard to believe this is the game universe aside. theres no undeniable in universe evidence that this is the game canon and not just a separate universe thats more faithful to the games than any of the other sonic tv shows are. and theres also no hint to where this would take place if it was canon aside from shadow and rouge being there but that doesnt really narrow it down much . this whole situation is just confusing and weird
