Cruzs response got straight to the point: “If this is a student, she should be expelled. If this is a #Columbia professor, she should be fired. No university should allow one member of the community to advocate the murder of other members of the community.”
Cruz was not alone in his sentiments, as others flooded X with comments on the photo. AG added a second post, saying, “This image also made me think of a great line I saw from @neontaster the other day: The difference between a radical anti-Zionist and a moderate anti-Zionist is that a radical anti-Zionist wants to kill you, and a moderate anti-Zionist wants a radical anti-Zionist to kill you.”
“This was the least of it. At least one Jewish student was attacked at Yale. Several Jewish students were threatened at Columbia,” AG added in another post. “There are videos of the crowds threatening violence, telling Jews to go back to Europe, cheering terrorism, celebrating the American flag being taken down. This is all happening on 2 American campuses. It’s clear that these campuses are clearly not safe for Jewish students right now and not particularly productive for others as they have been taken over by antisemitic and pro-terrorist mobs. This is all coordinated and well-funded by some national activist groups, but the schools allowed for it to get to this place by allowing those involved to keep pushing the line/normalizing such behavior and they hired faculty/administrators who encourage it. Now it’s up to these schools to figure out how to address these mobs. It’s their problem because their reputations are on the line and their failures that led us here. If they refuse to address it, they should face civil rights investigations, lawsuits from students, and permanent reputations loss.”

Radiohead's Thom Yorke, who is a big Israel supporter, was yelled at by a protester in Melbourne who shouted, that "200,000 had already been killed in Gaza, half of them children"
Yorke responded: "Don’t stand there like a coward, come here and say it. You wanna piss on everybody’s night? OK, you do. See you later, then."
He then left the stage and returned later to play one last song.

Liberal democracies have become the least common regime type in the world, a total of 29 in 2024. Nearly 3 out of 4 persons in the world – 72% – now live in autocracies.

The above two are different cases.
Meanwhile the anti-1st Amendment round up and illegal detention/deportation continues.
US judge halts deportation of Turkish student at Tufts
Rubio's such a horrible person that he's proud of it.
Another bullshit illegal deportation attempt based on Government lies.
Now if the Democratic Politicians would actually get on board....

I suspect that the pro-Palestinian protests on campuses go beyond just taking the side of Palestinians.
I suspect it’s that students are tired of perpetual wars and never-ending conflicts that are fueled by large military complexes and political machinations.
How many generations will have to witness the partisan violence that annually plagues the Middle East? For decades it has ebbed and flowed, going from frequent and sporadic instances of horrific hate and death to full-scale war. Can this cycle ever be stopped?
For those in college, their entire lives have had a backdrop of global conflict involving Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Yemen, Israel, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia and dozens of other nations and interests that are all complexly interconnected through commerce, politics, religion, and other socioeconomic factors.
Of all the people in the world who have perpetuated this and let this happen: politicians, religious leaders, militaries, and countless others, there are few innocent and blameless participants…but college students are innocent.
Are they naive? Maybe. Are they ignorant of the complexities involved in these conflict? Maybe. But are they guilty of perpetuating these endless conflicts? No.
In fact, they’re actually calling for an end to it all. They want peace. A cease fire. An end to the insanity.
Of all the people in all the world, maybe these students have a worldview that’s more hopeful and humane than most.
