Throwing this out into the universe simply so I can say “I knew it!”…

The next season will be Violet and Edmund’s love story with flash forwards of Violet finding a lovaaa. I think they set us up for it & frankly a season 2 surrounding Charlotte and George would be kind of sad. They gave us their ending under that beautiful bed & I’d rather they focus on another couple and have the King & Queen pop in and out in happy moments. Would love to see some of Lady Danbury’s many bedmates too bc she deserves all the orgasms.

I did a rewatch of the first two episodes of S3 (mind ya’ business. I’m obsessed) and something occurred to me.

The Queen says “why should I chose a diamond?” And also says “My sparkler will turn out to make the best match of the season” both of these lines come before she sees Francesca playing the piano. But after she sees Penelope in the green dress and asks Lady Danbury about her.

Not just drinking kool-aid or delulu juice BUT…when Colin and Pen marry, she will have made the best match of the season. As Colin is the most “eligible bachelor on the market” as remarked by many, included Eloise.

Pen is the Queen’s sparkler or diamond this season and no one knows it. Not even the Queen.

Bridgerton S3 is so unserious because how did Cressida find the identity of Lady Whistledown in mere days, while the Queen couldn't do that for months and even years? All Cressida did was ask the printer, but did the freaking Queen of England not do that before? Seeing how desperate and vigilant Charlotte was, I would've expected her to have already thought of and questioned every printer and every worker?? Like, Cressida is one single woman who found out LW identity so quickly, but the Queen, who has like hundreds of people working under her, couldn't? Not to mention, finding LW was the Queen's top priority as well.

Aside from the fact that in this photo it is Penelope and the Queen that are wholly dressed in shades of Bridgerton Blue, it is the Queen that wears GREEN jewelry!

WHAT IF SHE ANNOUNCES AN EMERALD FOR THIS SEASON TOO?

In the trailer the Queen notices Penelope when she is wearing GREEN.

That phrase about "diamonds are not the only gems that sparkle" is already narrated in the LW voice so in canon it will probably come straight from LW and we all know the Queen's entanglement with every provocation LW dishes out.

Okay, so the Queen is putting the bounty on LW. The last I remember from part 1, she agreed with Lady Danbury that they were seeing eye to eye finally. So unless I missed a scene, something must have happened.

Theory??? They were seeing to eye to eye about Francesca, who the Queen ships with that one guy. Maybe when Colin brings Pen inside to announce their engagement, she overhears something about John, and trying to get on Colin’s good side for the inevitable reveal, she’s supportive about it in Whistledown while pointing out that the Queen was wrong bc she legit can’t stop herself. Then the other guy gives up on Fran and sets his eye on someone else, which Whistledown also reports. So by the end of episode five, the Queen is like, “That’s it. That’s fucking it.”

After watching Queen Charlotte, I feel like there is a lot of setup going into this season, more than just from end of season 2. (I.e. Lady Danbury finding a man for Violet)

So based on that, the book, and some ep1 info. I see the two parts having different tones.

Sneak peeks for part 1 really give: 90s/00s Rom Com, You’ve Got Mail- A la friends in the streets, enemies in the (gossip) sheets. Dating coach falls in love with his student, etc.

All with Eloise initially teaming up with the bully but then realizing her mistake, reconciling with Pen, and meddling into early Polin.

Now, my theories for part 2 will probably have beginning stages in part 1, but the bulk of the big story will be in part 2.

We learn from QC that her and Lady Danbury were essentially each other’s first friend in the ton. As well as LD’s connection to Violet & her father. During QC, Pen as Lady Whistledown is harsher on the Queen than usual. This is obviously due to Pen’s own strife- her best friend never wanting to see her again and the lohl saying he’d never date her.

So, where this has to divert from the book: ShowCressida is not married & left destitute so she would not be needing LD’s prize. And ShowEloise knows Pen is Lady Whistledown.

However, what DOES seem to translate from the book is Lady Danbury’s affection for Penelope.

We know QC has been after LW since the Pilot.

What I see happening is: Colin finding out/engagement happens in eps 4-5 (similar to it back to back in the book) and both El AND Colin trying to protect Pen from being found out by the queen. But in the end Lady Danbury either takes blame/protects Penelope & the Bridgertons, or gets Pen & QC to come to some kind of agreement.

(Oh and someone pointed out their wedding is probably in episode 6, because in the last 2 seasons the weddings were in the episode titled after the book.)

Y’all are we underestimating the Queen??? What if she’s paying like a LIL bit of attention like first ball of the season Pen changes her dress and The Queen takes note, learns her name. Next day she writes I embrace change but others do not all that what if she realises and LIKES IT I mean often LW is just directly chattin’ w the Queen so just WHAT IF

I saw a few mentions that the most recent photos could be a funeral since so many are wearing black. King George was mentioned but I was thinking that maybe it's possible that this is Queen Charlotte's funeral? It might explain them telling her back story before S3 comes out. The actual Charlotte died in 1818 so it wouldn't be such a big stretch to move that timeline up a couple of years. This would also be a major change for the LW storyline because the Queen would no longer be pursuing Pen or pressing her to come forward. This would be a "new beginning" as Simone Ashley said about the season. All crazy speculation of course but we'll see when we see!

i just saw the theories about since edward and victoria are pregnant (with future queen victoria), charlotte might die in s3.

(in actual history queen charlotte died 6 months before queen victoria/alexandrina was born and george died 8 months after victoria was born)

So they moved up the Polin storyline to have Queen Charlotte involved? Theoretically?

Or it's one of the factors? So after the Polin season, will the queen be gone or have less presence? Or do they have other plans for her?

That's what makes the most sense to me. Since Queen Charlotte spent all of S1 obsessing over Whistledown and then all of S2 determined to best her and uncover her identity, it would only make narrative sense to have her involved in Polin's season. Colin will of course discover Penelope is Whistledown and they'll have to navigate their way through that source of division as a couple - but QC will also have something to do with Whistledown because that has been her main storyline over the past two seasons. Now I don't know how they're going to go about it; perhaps instead of Lady Danbury issuing the challenge of uncovering the gossip writer's identity it will be Queen Charlotte; maybe the mission to learn the identity will be more low-key than that. Whether or not QC will discover Penelope as the columnist is up for speculation (and if she does, how it will then be resolved) but either way there must be some sort of conclusion or closure for QC on Whistledown.

I think following Polin's season they should stick to the historical accuracy of QC's death in 1818 (I know the show has already proved to be lousy in keeping the timeline in order with all it's continuity errors but if my theory is correct then they will stick to this one definitive historical matter) so while I reckon we'll still see something of her in S4 (assuming the show is renewed after S4, which it probably will as it's one of Netflix's biggest hits), timeline wise by S5 she would no longer be present.

Whistledown reveal prediction.

I think Colin and Pen will go to the Queen and tell her themselves. Queen Charlotte will be impressed with Pen and also pleased she has the true identity before anyone else. Charlotte does so love to win.

Charlotte will then announce to the Ton who LW really is.

A parallel to the tale of the ugly duckling that was always a swan that eventually emerged? Like our penelope?
