QLT GEN - Queer Quilting Project

I am a trans, non-binary, ace fiber artist and educator, and I'm so excited to finally share a project that's incredibly close to my heart—QLT GEN!

I'm creating a series of quilts that will serve as a time capsule for the LGBTQIAA+ community, capturing our voices across generations. These quilts will not only represent where we are now but will help future generations see how far we've come.

Here's where you all come in. I need just 5 minutes of your time to answer a few quick questions about your current outlook and how you feel about our future. I'll transform the responses into a series of quilts to be displayed for our community and allies to better understand what our community is going through.

As a quilt maker and proud LGBTQIAA+ community member, I believe in the power of weaving our stories together—literally and figuratively. Every response adds another vital patch to this collective portrait of our community.

Finished the next one. I had to round up a lot in my yardage because I could only get the fabric in 1 or 2 yard packages. Something I've made using new equipment.... When I finished the Mewtwo quilt I made for @lostsymbiote last year (which I started years prior lol) I had to get a bunch of fun sewing accessories so I could quilt the beast, so while I haven't finished a cosplay with the new sewing machine feet, I've already started incorporating them into my costume making! The walking foot is a must for sewing lots of layers together or layers that are slippery, and I'm excited for my overcast foot cause now I can FINALLY "serge" my edges (I don't have a serger/overcast/over lock machine). I signed up for the #deltileqal with @runningstitchquilts and decided to do a King size Ombre! I'm probably not going to fulfill any other weekly check-in, but we will see.
