FUCK IT, TADC EP 2 THOUGHTS MAJOR SPOILERS!! BE WARNED

LETS GO!! Pomni is still pretty screwed up over her first day here, I mean this is all fresh and new to her so like DUH. everyone else here is somewhat or entirely adjusted and kind of just cope with the fact that theyre here I dont think pomni has really processed how long theyve been here?? In the pilot she seems SO bothered by how okay they are with this and willingness to do caines fuckass adventures

i dont blame her, anywho pomni in her nightmare-induced state starts to abstract, she had to face an abstraction early on in her days here which like have to be pretty truamatizing (duh) and cried out to ANYONE, but where she called for help literally no one helped her “oh well” they though

Pomni doesn't feel like anybody else cares, shes the only one whos still going through an adjustment phase and freaking the fuck out while everyone else is just going along with the adventure, something she still thinks is kinda pointless and doesn't get why anybody would waste their time here doing when they COULD be looking for a way out, why is she the only one who seems to still be distressed here? To feel lost? At least from her perspective, it seems that way. Unfortunately, these people have already been here for a while.

Pomski then meets someone whos just like her, their whole reality was shattered and they don't belong anywhere, mirroring how pomni feels at the moment, even if she still has some sort of grip now vs when she first got here

And she finds comfort in that!!! Why is it that this NPC feels more real than the ACTUAL REAL PEOPLE trapped here with her??? Whatever the reason, its something to hold onto. Something to LATCH onto. Hes Real. or at least he feels real, and maybe she feels like she belongs with him because at least he knows the feeling, something shes not really felt w anyone else before

This comfort and solidarity she has with gumigoo is shortlived however as she gets brutally reminded that he wasnt real. The anchor she had vanished and there's quite literally nobody to catch her fall.

And i feel like ragatha trying to comfort her the way she did didnt help AT ALL. it was kinda a sore reminder that gumigoo is easily replaceable, and GOD thats so frustrating?? This thing felt so real to her and nobody seems to care that he just vanished!! If they could be so apathetic to this whos to say they wont just treat her demise just the same as she thought they would???

But then something important happens. They have a funeral for Kaufmo, someone whos been established to be their friend way before Pomni ever came here. And maybe it didn't ever settle in before that kaufmo was a real person! Literally!! And he was real to them. Just like gumigoo though less directly they relate to being in pain and kind of in shock of losing someone who they cared about and who was a real person to care about to them AND LIKE YOU CAN SEE WHERE IT CLICKS IN HER FACIAL EXPRESSION HERE, THE CHANGE IN HER EYES AND THE WAY HER EXPRESSION LOSENS AT THIS IDK IT DRIVES ME CRAZY GOD THE ANIMATORS WENT OFF W THIS EP VS THE PILOT IM IM IM

anyways anyways They have their funeral service, theres quite literally no reason for anyone to just lie and go along with whatever bs caines got going on, this also quite literally has nothing to do with him. This is kind of their own little way of keeping some sort of human traditions and respect for the human persons that get stuck here because they care. HELL you can even see pomni feel a little guilty here when ragatha says that his funeral was disrupted cause she arrived here

anyways thats exactly it!! They fucking car!! This whole time pomni thought that they just didnt care and were kind of apathetic or downright patronizing her over all this and mocking her or whatnot, like in her dream sequence. But no, they all talk respectively about their memories and experiences with kaufmo, the things they shared together and the feelings they had. EVERYBODY was grieving. Ragatha who always tried to put on some cheerful and kind of irritating (to pomni at least) everythings fine facade (which also kind of feels less real to her at least i think so but i don't think she figured it to be a coping mechanism) to just straight up start crying and breaking up a bit, even mentioning how this does not ever get any easier and how shes had to deal with this plenty of times before.

Zooble the usually apathetic and kind of asshole who keeps to themselves and gives off i don't care energy and probably gave off the impression that they didn't care about anyone here and just treated the people stuck here as an unfortunate fact and nothing more actually being vulnerable and probably doing the same as ragatha talking about their memories with kaufmo

Kingers ALWAYS kind of zoned out or not really taking anything seriously and just being there completely lost in space, but here hes grounded, and even earlier in the episode when ragatha needed it most he remained grounded then too (tho pomni didnt see that i just wanted to mention it). Just like the others he grieves and lives in the unfortunate moment

GANGLE- dude even if its for just a moment she smiles here despite having her tragedy mask and like her whole shtick is being of whatever mood or emotion her mask is allegedly wether she wants to or not, but no here shes more than just that, she smiles for a bit when reminiscing her moments with kaufmo only to go back into crying, and man shes always crying with her tragedy mask but its beyond as far as anyone can tell wether or not its really her or just because of her mask, but here? its really her, no matter what the mask on her face shows!! shes genuinely smiling despite having her comedy mask and shes genuinely crying which is very blatantly obviously different to the usual mask cry etc etc

heres something about all this, it hits pomni in a way. These people ARE real, and they care. They care about her, they have nothing else but eachother and THATS something to latch onto. Thats something to hold her down, even if they just met pomni

SPEAKING OF JUST MEETING POMNI she literally expressed how she didnt wanna just LEAVE gumigoo there by himself because she believes no one should just be left there

the circus peeps just met pomni and just like how she felt a real connection to gumigoo in this digital hell she feels a sort of connection with these people too. Theyre gonna have her back all the same, maybe she wont feel so out of place and alone. BONUS THING!! The literal only times she genuinely smiles is when she feels this real connection to what feels real to her and has a genuine and sincere moment with these people whether it be an npc or a trapped member. Idk it just means something to me how significant both these moments are tipped off with a genuine smile a REAL SMIE!! (id add pictures but tumblr has a 30 image limit) OH ALSO BONUS BONUS THING THE DIFFERENCE IN OUTRO MUSIC IS SO IS SO ITS SO the outro song for the pilot kinda feels so ethereal and out of the moment at least to me it kinda feels like it you're slipping through the cracks and just, existing within yourself as the rest of the world around you kind of shatters into glass or melts into water or something i dont think ANY of that made any sense but its loud and its blaring and its so out of reach in a way, mad disassociation vibes but the outro song for the 2nd ep is a lot quieter yet its right there, at first it starts really small, lonely even. trapped by yourself but as the music gets louder and more instruments join in on the song it kind of has a comforting feel? bittersweet? even? its grounding ina way which is much different from how the first one felt at least to me lmao and the comforting feel kinda only emphasizes what I was talking about earlier- the comfort in having that anchor of reality with having a real moment with these people and making that connection yk? and like as i was saying at first the song starts off with just one instrument, at the start of the episode pomni feels utter alone and out of place even if these people here with here are stuck in the same situation as her, together alone. but as the other instruments join. in it kinda uplifts the song a bit, its not one sole instrument anymore like how in the end pomni feels that connection with everyone else, not so alone anymore idk jackshit about music theory so this is entirely a feelies talk instead of like- music lore? so don't take anything i say as like- idk some professional speak im just a nerd nerding about silly digital fixations ANYWAYS THATS ALL FOR NOW I AVE MORE TO SAY BUT THIS IS LONG ENOUGH LOL if you actually read all the way down this far thank you for listening!!! i really really appreciate it :]

RRRAAH RAMBLINGS UNDER THE CUT

so ive been obsessed with the concept since i figured out what exactly happened during PowerEdd, ~2015. tom was kind of already my favorite but i only got more obsessed now that i could draw him with claws and fangs now.

when i finally got back into eddsworld this most recent time and started thinking about how i'd draw the guys i already knew i wanted tom to be trans, so when i started sketching i drew him with top surgery scars... which kind of looked like teeth... and the canon monster design already has a mouth on its chest/head... it just worked!!

ok tangent time- i dont like the canon design very much (the combined head/torso is Very limiting for poses. F!!!) but i also have never really liked the popular fanon of just making monster tom a wolf with horns and a single eye. it always feels so reductive!! do you KNOW how many monsters there are out there who are just "big dog/cat plus one fantastical feature"???? MANY!! so i was pretty determined to find a design i liked (one that was both flexible and fairly unique) before putting it in anything.

...and the partial transformation cliche of just putting accessories on a character is SUPER boring to me. so i wanted something that would be an actual halfway point to a fucked up freaky creature that is only barely humanoid.

ok back on track it took me like fuckin forever to finally get the final ~50% design together. i tried mimicking the merged torsohead of the canon monster and it just left me disappointed. :/

the single blank eye instead of the rest of the face was a god damn GENIUS move i am so proud of it im pretty sure the first time i drew the design was the actual draft sketch for the comic. because fuck making reference sheets!! the design's in your mind, right???

oh! as for the second half of your ask, the first time Tord saw Tom half transformed was right here^^!!

then a couple weeks after that i managed to find a 100% design i liked that still looked like a reasonable end point. at which point i actually made a little ref sheet! BEFORE i used the design in a comic!! it hasnt gotten much use but i still like it :)

i took a much more wyrm-like horizontal approach as opposed to the vertical design of the original, but the arms (connected to top of spine, directly behind head) and legs (close to the bottom, optional) allow it to still match the original's body plan, especially from the front view. then extra legs, big spiky scales, even larger mouth... because who wants just a dog with horns am i right!!

I wish I could befriend the monsters in lethal company. Like, I don't think that option should be available in the (at least vanilla) game. I want the enemies to stay as enemies, they're the core part of LC and its experience but man,, sometimes I just want to be nice to those guys.

If I could, I'd pet and hug all the guys (old birds included). I'd give scratches to the dogs and the fox, give gifts to the hoarding bugs, help the butler with cleaning, play with the ghost girl, help the freshly-turned masked with their new life and so on. I want to be kind. I want to love the unlovable or rather something that cannot love/like/etc. back.

Again, I don't want to be changing the game itself for that to happen, I don't think this should be canonically possible. But hey, the alternative universes are just right for me and probably others to express those feelings. A bloodthirsty monster that suddenly can be hugged? A being that kills you on sight turns out to be kind? In an AU that's possible. I'm here for the fun and not being compliant with the canon stuff in 100%. You gotta differentiate the canon and fanon from each other and let them exist on their own.

They somehow come to the plan to ask him out, with Reg n Lily still being platonic besties and sharing a boyfriend.

I might be going full film theory on this, but just HEAR ME OUT.

At the end of the first episode, Sheriff mentions it’s been 3570 days since the big fart.

Now, I don’t know if this was intentional or not. But the angel number 3570 represents creativity and following your artistic passions. As they will make a positive impact on the world.

What I’m thinking here is that this detail is a nod to the team behind mutant busters. Which could be a bit of a stretch, but seeing as they have this included in the credits:

Its not completely unreasonable to assume this a possibility. (Also it would just be really sweet)

Now, I’m not done yet. Because 3570 days roughly translates to 9 years, 9 months, 1 week, and 4 days.

And you know what the angel number 9914 means?

Trusting your gut (essentially)

This may not relate to the creatives behind the show, but it does relate to Sheriff. Because in episode 6, he decides to trust his gut feeling, and join La Résistance. In the end that worked out for him, seeing as they saved the world and all.

Again, don’t know if that was intentional, but if it was. That’s pretty fuckin cool.

Just popping in to say I absolutely love everything you've done here! Absolutely fantastic world building, I really like what you've done to expand on clan culture. By giving the society itself such a solid backbone, it makes EVERYTHING else much more interesting!

LIKE!! That's what bugs me about canon! They just rely on nuclear family dynamics and a very boring commitment to Good Afterlife/Bad Afterlife without really commenting on to critiquing these things, it got stale! If the society had been evolving and the status quo changing, even just a little bit, things could be so much more fresh!

I get soooo much mileage out of the Queen's Rights alone, it's unreal. One addition to their lore could open up so much more drama.

I feel like some writers have an impulse that they'd be better off if they recognized it, and learned to kill it; When someone points out a critique or a hard-hitting question about an in-universe rule, like "If X situation happened, this would be really messed up!" you reflexively go, "Oh ok! We'll make an exception to the rule then!" NO! KILL IT! Unfair rules can make EXCELLENT conflict.

"This is messed up!" "Yes!"

"Ohhh what if (specific scenario happens)?" Sit back and revel in your success. You did it. You made a rule that people are invested in enough to be writing their own mini stories about it. This is a good thing.

And the patrol additions, they are sorely needed as ThunderClan bloats more and more. I can comfortably employ 25 cats with Kitchen, Construction, and Hunting patrols, plus the other odds and ends around camp. That's not so in canon where the only daily actions are hunting and elder care.

We really only got about 10 seconds of Seven and Raffi interacting in episode 6, huh.

And it seems like the breakup wasn’t actually a cover, but happened.

Which is like…..why though? If at the end of the season they get back together (which they better). Then what was the point of having them broken up? Was it to add drama, or the reason for Raffi to go undercover, or because she took they job they broke up? I don’t see the reason for it. I don think it’s adding anything to the story, and it’s so weird having them find their way back to each other at the end of season 2 and then be like “nah, they broke up” at the start of season 3.

It’s unnecessary writing I feel. And I don’t know, feel like what we know of the characters from No Man’s Land, and the 2 seasons, just…..doesn’t make sense.

I’m still hopeful, only because I believe in Michelle Hurd, but also what if ends with Raffi always being love with Seven, and them never getting together…

hi guys i spoke abt this forever ago and im speaking again bc AUUUGH I GOT REMINDED OF IT

sometime forever ago someone made a comment on how ragatha kind of ignored gangle in ep 2 and was way too hyperfocused on pomni and made the conclusion that she and gangle had beef and as cool as a thought that is I disagree and felt like sharing my thoots- no hate to this person or this point of view/take on her character btw!! i feel like I shouldn't have to say this but id really rather be safe than sorry- but "disclaimer" aside I feel like part of the reason that ragatha was so focused on pomnis well being wasn't JUST due to the fact that shes the newest cast member (it for sure was part of it I feel like it has to be more than just that-) but I think part of the reason was because of kaufmos abstraction kaufmo literally abstracted the DAY prior and nobody even had an inkling that he was about to abstract due to everyone's reactions, ragatha and gangle explaining that he abstracted in shock and zooble making the assumption that kinger would be next and could not belive he just gave up like that also, girl was actually ATTACKED by him!! she knows that the abstracted cant be saved and still got up close n personal to him to try and "calm him down" even if it was pointless and I mean based on her reactions alone even if this has happened multiple times it feels like if this was the first time shes dealt with this (which obviously isn't considering shes been here the 2nd longest) which also kinda reminded me how am from IHNMAIMS can change ted and co's nerve systems to feel everything as fresh so they don't get used to it lol but anyways anyways another interesting detail to me is that prior to the second episode drop some people did think that she was angry at pomni or held resentment here esp because of goose saying she says things just to ease tensions (which is still true BUT)

as also stated, she was actually far more concerned on wether or not pomni liked her? and was more upset that pomni seemed to be super distant towards her- shes SOOOO focused on her its crazy anywhozys I feel like part of why she seemed to "neglect" gangle and not stress about her as much was because she was probably so paranoid of pomni abstracting, she literally just witnessed her friend die in 4k can you blame her for being way all over pomni? i couldn't at least anyways this was naurt scripetd and i kinda just typed as I went w it so if this makes no sense im so sorry im not a word master <//3 tldr: ragatha was still kinda traumatized by kaufmos abstraction and hyper focused on pomni worrying shed abstract too causing her to kinda ignore gangle even when she was getting hurt as well annnyyywaays ragatha defender till i die and #1 supporter of ribbonyarn /p AND /r depending on ur take of them!!! i love her sm

What if as well as being terrible liars, the fae absolutely suck at disguising themselves.

Like I can imagine diasomnia being protective of Silver but not being all over him and instead just follows him around in 'disguise' At one point when Silver is just hanging out with a friend at a cafe and the others thought he was on a date so of course they follow him and all is well until Silver's friend points to another table and there are Lilia, Sebek and Malleus all wearing the typical cap and sunglasses as well as fake moustaches while looking through a newspaper with holes cut into it. Silver's not impressed and calls them out and when they don't respond he walks over to them then all of a sudden Lilia shrieks 'we've been caught Malleus, cheese it!' then Malleus just grabs the other two and poofs away before Silver could lecture them.

Wesley's Moons: Cunningham's Story

For my first actual post about the lore of Wesley's Moons I thought I could actually write about — what I like to refer to as — the main story that focuses on a woman named Cunningham and her journey. In this post I will be going over the audio logs that can be found in game.

What are Wesley's Moons?

To understand better what I wrote about here, you might want to know what even those moons are. 'Wesley's Moons' is a modpack for Lethal Company made by Magic_Wesley on Thunderstore. It contains new moons that you can travel to and by exploring them you can find many various and thematic scrap items. Those objects, and parts of the enviroments, hold within the lore of the moons.

Captain's Log #1

Location: Infernis Population: Deceased Conditions: Extremly hot, dry, dusty terrain. Rarely supports living plant life due to recent volcanic activity. Fauna: A desperate ecosystem, remaining creatures support aggressive behavior.

We begin the journey on one of the first and gameplay-wise easier moons, Infernis. It's a volcanic moon that, to quote: "was once used for the mining of crystals and other various materials". Exiting the ship, turning left and going in straight line until the edge of the ground, we can find what most probably is left of Cunningham and her team's research station. Among other things, there is an audio log:

Captain’s log, log one, location Infernis. Still no information on the whereabouts of Cosmocos after its unusual disappearance. Thirty two of us on the ground and found nothing of note. We’ll be leaving shortly due to dangerous conditions as if no one could have seen that coming. Stepping off the ship is like walking into an oven. I am still struggling to recall any of the knowledge I possessed on Cosmocos but there is something still urging me to continue in my pursuits. Next point of interest is the so called death labs on Etern, not an exciting prospect with the team but they will manage. After that, Acidir. To investigate the fantastically named Crescent of Curses. Hoping it’ll leads us in the direction of its true origins. This is Cunningham, signing off.

This is our introduction to the protagonist, Captain Cunningham. From this log we can learn that before recording it, she traveled to a different moon called Cosmocos. For unknown reasons though, the said moon disappeared and now Cunningham and her team are trying to find it. As of now, it's not clear whether actually the whole team wants to find Cosmocos or is it purely the captain's order.

Basing on this audio log, the route that Cunningham took is: Infernis -> Etern -> Acidir. Although as we will see in a second, the route that she actually took was a little bit different. I will briefly describe those moon as I get to them.

Nothing else could be learned from this log, as it's rather short compared to the others. Therefore, we will be moving onto the next moon.

Captain's Log #02

Location: Atlantica Population: Drowned Conditions: Cold, wet terrain, supports aquatic plant life. Fauna: A healthy ecosystem, fauna supports neutral behaviour.

Going a bit off-route to visit the moon that is stuck in a time loop, Atlantica. It is an oceanic moon that, to quote: "was hit by rogue rays from a supernova. This caused a disturbance in the local flow of time". Finding log here is actually tricky. The place where it is located, only appear at around 6PM in-game. It is placed on a couple of branches, half-sunken in the ocean, on the right of the main entrance. You need to go (or rather fly) there by a jetpack as it is the only possible option.

Transcript:

Captain’s log, log two, location Atlantica. After visiting Etern, we diverted course to Atlantica due to reports of unnatural occurrences having taken place here, and I’m glad we did. Most excitingly, we’ve discovered a map of Cosmocos on this small island not far from the mainland. We lost a crewmate trying to swim over and resorted to using jetpacks instead. And despite our loss, seeing some evidence of Cosmocos was exhilarating. It solidifies in my mind that these weren’t just illusions of mine. It was real, I was there! I saw it! I’m familiar with this terrain. I may not be able to recall with perfect clarity, but it is knowledge I possess… or possessed. Also of significant note, a body was discovered on Etern along with a log, not dissimilar to mine. I believe we’ve obtained another piece of the puzzle, so to speak. I’ve [???] it into the map. Please excuse my haste, Atlantica is sinking and I must return to the ship. Our course is set for Acidir, with one less crew mate. We should be vigilant. Cunningham, signing off.

In this log, we learn that the team has found another clue in the search of Cosmocos. It is its map, proving that the moon does actually exist, or the very least existed at some point. As a fun fact, you can find a scrap item called "Map of Cosmocos" on Atlantica, that alludes to the actual map that's located there. Although it is just a scroll and doesn't have any information.

Besides that, Cunningham's team has lost one of its members, trying to retrieve that map. As we'll see, it was the beginning of our protagonist starting to care less and less about her team, and prioritizing more and more the lost moon.

As I'll discuss it later, they found a body with a log on Etern. It contains some more clues about Cosmocos's location.

The route is now: Infernis -> Etern -> Atlantica -> Acidir. Therefore, we will be moving onto the next moon with the next log, Acidir.

Captain's Log #3

Location: Acidir Population: Lost Conditions: Warm, lush terrain, supports plenty of flora, acidic pools present. Fauna: A healthy ecosystem, fauna supports neutral behavior.

Our third location is Acidir. It's described as, to quote: "a mysterious new moon set in a dark and deadly swamp", having "the soil on which this residence sits is cursed, water turned to acid (...)". Exiting the ship, going straight and throught a bridge over a river, then maneuvering through the forest, we can find another research station with the third log.

Transcript:

Captain’s log, log three, location Acidir. I finally had a moment to record my findings. Navigating Etern was a nightmare with those butting nutcrackers roaming the desert. We’re down to a crew of twenty six after that veritable screw-up. And I’m afraid things are only going worse since we’ve arrived on Acidir. But first, my findings on Etern. A silver lining. I recovered a log from a corpse of a scientist, pertaining to Cosmocos’s location. It’s seems that it created some sort of AI for the sole purpose of retrieving these coordinates. Unfortunately, the AI seems to malfunction while reciting them. Certainly, it’s some system error in the madman’s machine, most definitely. But for some reason, it feels to me that Cosmocos just not want to be found. And yet, the more I recall, the more intense my desire becomes to try and locate it. To see the way the walls of crystal shimmer in the light of those strange bulbs that hang from the trees. I know that my dreary mind couldn’t create things of such beauty on its own accord. I’m far too boring for that. Nevertheless, I left a log with a rising map of Atlantica and I’ve discovered that the sixth letter of the coordinate’s is a lowercase z. Z. Zed. We will soon be leaving Acidir, I hope. Five went mad after coming into contact with the Crescent of Curses and decided to go for a swim with a local pond life. Three went screaming into the woods and it’s been hours since we saw them. The ship will fly soon when the conditions become too dangerous. If they’re not back before then… Our next destination is Polarus. This was the closest moon to Cosmocos before its disappearance. We’ll stop by Gratar in lure of rumblings of scientist’s log. This is Cunningham, signing off.

This log was a long one with a lot of information. But firstly, she mentions a log that she found on Etern. You can actually find it in game on a moon called Asteroid-13 (I will be going into details about it in a different post). That log is a scrap item called "Recovered Secret Log". We know that because in a different scrap item called "Experiment Log Comedy" from the same moon, mentions it, to quote: "(...) A secret log was recovered from a body on Etern. It was put into storage area D. (...)".

Year 135, day 48. I’ve done it. I found Cosmocos. Well, the artificial intelligence I made, found it. From what I understand, it is encrypted. Computer, tell me the location of Cosmocos. Over, the location of Cosmocos is: bit dot ly slash... three... three... You stupid machine. I will sell you to the company of Gratar when I’m done with you. Last time, he stopped after the second letter but it was capital H. Nobody can find out about this. Me out.

It is what Cunningham said, a person made an AI that would retrieve the coordinates of Cosmocos (which again, I will write about it in another post where I go over all the moons). Unfortunately, that AI was malfunctioning so Cunningham's goal now is to find the rest of the coordinates to learn where Cosmocos is now.

In comparison to the first log, the bond between the woman and the lost moon is shown way stronger. From "there is something still urging me to continue in my pursuits" to "the more I recall, the more intense my desire becomes to try and locate it" and then proceeding to describe its breathtaking beauty.

Leaving that and the anomalies of Acidir in paragraph five aside though, the team's route has been updated to: Infernis -> Etern -> Atlantica -> Acidir -> Gratar -> Polarus.

Although the next, fourth log is actually on Polarus so that's what I'm going to write about next, only mentioning Gratar for now.

Captain's Log #4

Location: Polarus Population: Sacrificed/Deceased Conditions: Cold, wet, snowy terrain, supports plant life. Fauna: A balanced ecosystem, creatures support very aggressive behaviour.

The next log can be located on Polarus. It is an icy moon, where there were once vaults that, to quote: "contained very valuable riches before the corporation went bankrupt". Exiting the ship and turning 180 degrees, you can find youself in seemingly a labirynth with tall, icy walls. Somewhere there, is the research station with the fourth log.

Transcript:

Captain’s log, log four, location Polarus. First, my findings on Gratar. We managed to trick that conniving AI into revealing the final letter to us. It’s P. It’s a capital P. It’s smart but we were smarter. Ones of us that survived, anyway. I think it realized we were deceiving it and it decimated ten of us. We’re down to a pathetic team of eight. Half of whom were too disturbed to carry on their duties as usual. (laughter) Our scattered crew might be real skeletons soon enough. But I only need them to help out of ship for the last leg of the journey. Because I found it. I know where Cosmocos is. I wonder if it felt the same lost that I felt when I left. That my heart was wrenched from my chest to get to know something. Some… Someone’s so magnificent. To know that you leave them blinded, wounded and sick. I will be with you soon, old friend. I’ll heal you. I only need the opportunity and then we’ll be one again. Cunningham, signing off.

Having found the last letter needed, Cunningham now knows where to find the Cosmocos. As seen in all the logs, it costed her her teammates. From the initial team of 32 they're now down to 8.

Long are lost any feelings of remorse or empathy for her coworkers as the only thing that matters now is Cosmocos, that might have been injured before its and Cunningham's separation.

But now, she's ready to find her old friend.

Captain's Last Log

Location: Cosmocos Population: ??? Conditions: ??? Fauna: ???

The last log ever of Captain Cunningham. To find it, you must go first into the facility itself and find a fire exit that leads you to a very special place.

Transcript:

Long time no see, old friend. You gave me a real runaround, didn’t you? Going off the radar like that. You’ve teleported yourself nearly eight hundred million miles away. I didn’t even know you could do that! You are full of wonders. You didn’t want to hurt them, did you, friend? You did everything you could not to kill them. You wanted so dearly to see them learn and grow and help each other. I feel it. I know, I know. They’re still out there though, aren’t they? That’s them? Lurking in the shadows? They’re protecting you now. I want to protect you too. If you'll let me. (laughter) No one will ever hurt you again. Not when I’m around.

Cunningham and Cosmocos have been reunited. They've become one as they both wanted. This is their happy end.

Summary of part 1

Captain Cunningham is in search of the lost Cosmocos. She travels through different moons with her team to find out the coordinates to it. She believes that there is a special soulmates-like bond between her and Cosmocos and so she doesn't give up on her expedition no matter what happens. Finding letter by letter, loosing people one after another, Cunningham finally gets the location of Cosmocos. She finds peace after reuniting, promising to protect it forever from now on and finally becoming one with it.

My thoughts

I am going feral.

I very much adore the idea of having a bond or something like it to a moon, a whole ass planet. Cunningham doesn't even properly remember Cosmocos at the beginning. She only seems to remember more and more as she gets closer to it, or maybe it's just that bond that gets stronger, but it gets her going and trying to reach that goal.

Her ways might be questionable to say the least but honestly I'm all here for it. I love fictional women who are crazy, perhaps unhinged even. Literally sacrificing your teammates to find a moon that has teleported itself so far away. Cunningham and Cosmocos are so very caring but in their own ways. I love it.

I feel like we need to bring back just, not liking someone/something y'know

I've seen so many people tie dislike to morality like "i don't vibe with them as a person, so they must be evil" or "i don't like this show so it must be doing something wrong" when in reality it's ok to just not like stuff.

Not everything will be for you and not everyone is gonna get along with you, and that's ok.

Work was tough today. I make a mistake and a group of guests/clients made me feel like absolute crap for it. I feel so weepy, so In light of that…

Your pred completely engulfing you in their arms, allowing you to cry in their shoulder and you feel completely at ease to do so, not feeling like you’re inconveniencing them at all.

In fact, they may or may not feel a little validated that you came to them. That you sought their comfort.

They rub your back, murmuring “I gotcha, sweet thing, I gotcha” or if they’re on the formal side “it’s okay, let it all out my darling, feel what you need to”

You’ve felt so useless the whole day, like no one should suffer the pain of meeting you. But your pred… oh your pred thinks of the world of you.

Suddenly your whole world changed as body is shrouded in darkness. you’re confused at first until your pred lifts up a finger and you see you’re now surrounded by their massive hands. They lick at your face, tasting the salt of your tears before swallowing you up. They Hum happily as they curl up in the corner of their couch, draping a blanket over themselves and holding their tummy.

You’re exhausted now, head aching a little from the tears, so you settle, hearing the slow percussive sounds of their body and the melodic gurgles of their digestive tract on top of it all.

You can’t find the words, but they do. Over and over again talk of how they want you, that they love you, that you’re theirs right now, in their care.

It won’t heal your broken heart, but it certainly helps, and your pred is sturdy enough to understand than and expect nothing more, just thankful they can be there for you when you need it.
