Rayman's Rage [Rayman 2 Fanfic]

By the time Rayman burst into Razorbeard's quarters, he was blind with rage.

He had been imprisoned on Razorbeard's slave ship. Stripped of his powers. Beaten, taunted and mocked. Then thrown in a cell to rot.

He had been forced to witness unspeakable atrocities inflicted onto fellow prisoners. People who once lived peacefully in the Glade, people he had a duty to protect. Now they were in what he could only describe as hell.

When he escaped and returned to land, what he saw there was almost worse. The pirates had left nothing but destruction in their wake. The Glade and its remaining inhabitants were broken shells of their former selves.

The more he pushed on, the bleaker it got. Stories of people disappearing, simply vanishing without a trace. Feared to have been captured by the pirates, or worse. Anguished, tear stained faces of families mourning their loved ones. So much pain and loss. He felt it all. It threatened to consume him.

The Glade he knew had been a place of peace and tranquility, but this was different. This wasn't peace, it was emptiness. Everybody was hiding. Nobody wanted to be found.

At some point, the heaviness in his heart morphed into seething restement. A pure, burning hatred towards the pirates and what they had done to his home, to the people he cared about.

He wasn't sure when exactly it happened. But if he had to guess, it may have been when he encounted a distraught Uglette in the Iron Mountains, wailing because the pirates had taken Globox and the children, and now she had nothing left.

Or when he freed Ly, severely weakened from imprisonment and possibly torture at the hands of the pirates.

It had to be upon encountering Clark, who, despite his enormous prowess, was on the brink of death when he found him. In fending off the pirates, he had used all but the last of his strength.

There were too many such incidents to count. But each one solidified his resolve to hunt down Razorbeard and destroy him. That's what kept him going towards the end, like a flame burning brightly on candlewax. It was no longer about being a hero. It was about retribution.

So when he finally reached Razorbeard's quarters and kicked in the doors, Rayman's body was burning with rage. A rage that until now, he hadn't known he was capable of feeling. A rage that made him want to avenge his friends who had been horrifically scarred, and his home that had been brought to near destruction. A rage that reduced his vision down to a single pinpoint. A rage that made him want to destroy everything in sight.

Rayman's eyes locked in on Razorbeard as he started swinging his fist. He channelled the pain, the trauma, the rage, condensing it all into a single point, ready to aim.

He was going to make this one count. For his friends. For the Glade.

Rayman Meets Ly For The First Time

I've always wanted to share how I imagined how they first met, so I drew this artwork and wrote a story of how they did!

Rayman was headed back after a day of adventuring when he was suddenly ambushed by a zombie chicken, he winds his fist up to punch and lands a massive blow to the monster however, the force of the throw knocks young Rayman down, sending him tumbling backwards into a deep dark cavern. Feeling uneasy, he looks for a way out of the darkness that now surrounds him. An eerie giggling voice can be heard behind him, "That was quite a fall." A startled Rayman replies, "Show yourself! I have fought against Mr. Dark and I can fight you too!" As it approaches in the dimly lit cave, Rayman starts to see faintly glowing eyes and a large tail. It replied, "Do not worry, I will not harm you, my name is Ly." he now slightly sees what resembles to be a face. He felt slightly relieved and said to her, "Um, my name's Rayman, sorry about that, everything seems a little scary when it's dark." "Allow me to illuminate." She then lays her hands one above the other slowly pulling them apart to create a small light within her palms. An excited Rayman says, "Wow, you're a fairy! That's a Silver Lum isn't it?" Ly replies, "Yes it is, I have many powers but I'm still learning how to use them." Rayman gives a huge smile saying,"That's O.K. Ly, I'm still learning how to fight, maybe we can be friends?" She smiles back and says, "I would like that very much, Rayman." With determination in his step Rayman announces, "Yeah! I can't wait to introduce you to Betilla! Let's go!"

They then escape from the cave and spend the rest of the day learning about each other, becoming great friends!

So I’m rewriting an old fanfic of mine that I did around high school, where I tried to bridge the gap between Rayman 1 and Rayman 2 (Orgins didn’t happen yet.) it was weird cringe looking back at it. But I loved the concept. So I am Reimagining it. (Kinda deleted it off the internet, but I still have the original story)

It’s definitely going to be a lot longer than the original (only one page). Mixing in things from legends and origins as well!

It’s probably gonna be slow to update cuz I keep working on multiple projects at once, but I really hope I can complete it and make something really banger! I’ve got some good ideas I want to put into words.

Watching some speed runs of Rayman 2 that beats the game in under an hour and it’s hilarious if you imagine it from the villains pov.

Like this little guy just escaped and you pay it no mind cause there’s no way he can take on your army.

Then he starts doing some wacky tricks you’ve never seen before like swimming in the air and teleport and next thing you know he has freed all his friends, completely toppled your plans and destroyed your army after only 53 minutes after he escaped.

hahahahaha, this has been very hilarious, just think about razorbeard being totally terrified, that in just one hour Rayman managed to defeat him.

razorbeard was sitting in a metal room, where there were many screens, looking at them with horror, he couldn't believe what his eyes saw, his entire crew of space ruffians was destroyed in a fast and monstrous way, all the pirates were trying to communicate with his captain through transmissions, showing the horror that was happening, his crew's transmissions were turned on and off in seconds, he could only hear a few words of horror from his people, before his transmissions were turned off and another turned on, crying for help.

The cause of everything, a small beast, with golden hair and a funny appearance, could see how this creature broke the laws of physics, ran extremely fast and with the same speed, destroyed everything, even moments where it teleported and reached another point. of nothing.

razorbeard: NO, NO, NO, HOW THE HELL DOES HE DO THAT? CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN IT TO ME?????

He can only watch in horror as his entire army of robots disappears out of nowhere and all the creatures he had imprisoned are released. In a matter of minutes, this situation became increasingly stressful for the tyrant.

razorbeard: BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING, THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Usually he did not feel things, such as fear or other emotions, other than the hatred and greed of his metallic heart, but in this situation, he really felt more and more afraid, he tried to communicate with his crew, but this was impossible, because the Transmissions cut off quickly thanks to the little beast, Rayman.

This was until there were no more transmissions, there was no longer chaos or screams, the room remained silent and razorbeard, the stress and fear was great…

razorbeard: crew….can you hear me?…..STINKING RUFFINS CAN YOU HEAR ME WHAT'S GOING ON OUTSIDE? ANSWER ME…..this, this can't be real, it must be a fucking nightmare, right?

The tyrant thought, he was afraid, until he heard a sound behind him, Razorbeard was very afraid, he turned slowly after him, just to witness the creature, Rayman, he saw it directly with a smile on his face, it seemed like he had a singular glow in his eyes, as if they were flames, at that moment razorbeard felt very horrified knowing that it would be his end…

razorbeard: NO, NO, GO AWAY YOU DISGUSTING CREATURE, I'M NOT AFRAID OF YOU, GO AWAY

rayman:……

Rayman began to approach him, slowly.

Can You Hear Me?

Skimming some of the new Rayman blogs I saw that there is a demand for more horror oriented content, so I kicked my own butt and finished this prompt I had lying around for a couple of months ~

Written as part of the 100 themes challenge, here is a whumpy look into the Clark Boss Encounter from R2 with fridge-horror elements.

82. Can You Hear Me?

He doesn’t know how long he can keep this up. And worst of all- his friend is suffering.

Rayman can tell, but one doesn’t have to be a genius to see.

“Clark!” he tries again, not sure if trying to reach his friend might not be making things worse. He’d already caught the absolutely guilty look in his eyes - and Rayman forgives him. He does. His friend is not to blame for the hellish torture the robots have put him through.

Still doesn’t make the bruises he’d already gotten hurt any less.

“Clark, listen to me!”

But when the hulking figure turns to face him, Rayman is immediately rushed at. He dodges the massive hands, albeit with less ease than before.

Rayman has already identified the problem in the mechanical contraption pinned to Clark’s back. It’s unnatural, looks painful too - but the Limbless doesn’t know yet how to get rid of this thing without accidentally hurting his friend.

Clark wasn’t an enemy, not a robot, or a pirate. He can’t just let his fist rain down on him! It flares up a new bout of anger in his chest, knowing that this was exactly what Razorbeard had wanted.

He dodges out of the way of Clark's charge and takes note of the mechanisms in the room. Big red buttons that scream 'push me', and up until now that had always proven to be helpful.

But before Rayman can act on his new idea, large fingers wrap around his torso, squeezing, and the Limbless feels the air leave him and his feet leave the ground.

He can't help the faint whimper at the force his friend applies. His eyes catch Clark's face for but a second. The giant looks about as awful and helpless as Rayman feels.

"Don't," he manages to breathe out before he finds himself hurled across the room.

The impact is harsh and hurts. Rayman takes a moment to get back on his feet, but Clark is already charging again with a roar that sounds desperate and painful in a way that shatters Rayman's resolve. He can't keep wasting time.

He reorients himself, pushes himself up and leaps away from Clark's powerful swing, before making a beeline for the button.

Nothing happens yet and it's with annoyance that Rayman catches note of the other buttons in the room. They'll be easier to catch in time from the other side, but he's come so far, he might as well try to trigger them from here.

Then Clark leaps into his last array, blocking his last energy sphere before it can connect with the button. It leaves a sizzling scorch mark in his friend's skin and Rayman winces with a "Sorry!"

It’s no one’s fault, Rayman tries to tell himself. But that’s wrong. It’s absolutely and undeniably Razorbeard’s fault. And maybe a little bit Rayman’s for not trying hard enough.

So, once he’s figured out what to do, the Limbless tries to zero in on the task ahead, tries not to think about the fact it's his friend he's hurting or the panic that boils underneath.

Not before long, the contraption shatters into pieces.

When Clark recovers it's with gusto, the nuts and bolts rolling off his back like rain as his hunch lifts.

Despite himself, Rayman has to try and keep himself from flinching when the giant approaches, but Clark is either not picking up on it or not acting on it for Rayman's sake.

The bruises are plentiful and more than obvious and Rayman will need to find a couple of red lums soon.

It does help, that Clark doesn't bring them up, but aside from their little celebration, Rayman doesn't want to linger.

His fingers are itching to find the robot who has done this to his friend so he can tear it up, and under any other circumstance, Rayman might be worried about the rage that coils in his gut. Clark's fine, he's fine, he's saved, he did it.

But he wasn't fine before.

Rayman bids Clark farewell if only so he can run from it and break without the giant seeing. There's a scream of anguish locked in his throat and when he closes his eyes, Rayman still sees Clark's torment in the back of his mind.

Battered fingers clench into a fist by Rayman's side as he collapses in the Hall of Doors and wails where no one can see. He can't rest though - while he's here and lamenting Razorbeard is still out there and keeps hurting his friends.

And Rayman vows to make him regret that.

Hello fellow Rayman author :) I keep wanting to write some Rayman and Globox friendship fluff but can never come up with the scenario required to properly do so. Maybe you'd like to take that up. I also love the idea of a Rayman 2 AU, where Globox just earned the power that was meant for Rayman by accidentally eating his silver lum :D But that feels like a bigger project.

(holy shit, THE levy120? aka one of the best rayman fanfic authors of all time? i re-read your stuff constantly, my dude, it's an honor.)

first off, oh man, that au sounds so cool! i already got a lot of rayman fics in the work already (the price of lightning-bolt inspiration bursts at midnight, i suppose), but that sounds like a ton of fun with a lot of potential.

secondly, i am ALWAYS down for writing friendship fluff. these two are so delightful to work with, so i hope this suffices!

"Okay, a little higher! Good! Now, left, left, leftleftleftleftleft too far! A little more to the right, aaand… perfect!"

The summers in the Glade of Dreams were a time of plenty, with blooming flowers, flourishing greenery, and the trees all but bending under the weight of the produce they bore. Berries clustered together on the vine, little jewels in the daylight awaiting the brief harvest of those passing through. The weather was flawless for a few hours of picking berries; bright skies, warm sun, and cool breezes that passed through the shadows of the jungle canopy.

It was well known, however, that the most tender and delicious fruit waited at the very top of the trees, where the sun was strong but speckled through the leaves. Succulent and ripe, they surrendered easily to teeth and burst with flavor on the tongue. The only trick was learning how to get up there. Alas, it was a trick few knew. They contented themselves, then, to wait for the load to get too heavy on the branches and fall to the floor, where they were turned into pies, tarts, juices, and other treats.

Rayman was one of the lucky few who did know the ways up. To do that, however, he needed an assistant to help him climb and a friend to share the spoils with.

"Hey, Rayman?" Globox said, trying to both hold the thingamajig's feet steady and shuffle to the perfect picking spot. "I don't wanna be rude or anything, but do you think maybe we could hurry this up a little? My face feels squished."

"It's just for a little longer!" the limbless promised, swaying on Globox's lip, floating hands straining to reach for the closest branch to start the trek up. "Once I get up there, I'll drop the berries down, then you can catch them in the baskets."

The thought of food put the frog's complaints to rest as he straightened. "Can I eat the first one?"

"Sure, if you want. You have to take the skin off, first, though."

An attempted grab at the branch resulted in a miss. He had to readjust.

"Rayman?"

"Yeah?"

"What's so special about these berries, anyway? I mean, can't we just wait until it falls?"

"They're not just any berries, Globox, they're — oh, maybe move forward a little more — thanks — they're whiplicks!"

"Lick-whip-what?"

"Whiplicks!" The floating hand strained up again, fingertips grazing the bark. Rayman wobbled on his perch, hands out, and centered himself. "Need to get higher — Ly told me about them. They only grow once every few years, and the perfect time to harvest them is right before midsummer."

Globox grappled his sneakers in a new hold. "Huh. Are they any good?"

"I don't know, I've never had them. But supposedly, once you peel the hard part away, the insides taste like melted chocolate."

"Oooooh! Scrummy!"

"Yeah, it sounds neat, and —" Rayman stopped. The floating hands returned to his sides as he turned back to the frog with a raised brow. "Wait, what?"

"What is it?"

"What did you just say?"

"Uh," Globox blinked, one eye after the other. "Scrummy? Why, did I say something wrong?"

"What? No," Rayman shook his head, face scrunched in confusion. "It's just that — Globox, is that even a real word?"

"Sure it is! I read it myself!"

Confusion slid into suspicion. "… Where?"

"In a dictionary."

"Which one?"

"Oh. I don't know, any one. Is there even more than one kind of dictionary?"

"Maybe? But in any case, I'm almost positive that's not a word."

"Scrummy's a real word!"

Rayman's suspicion melted in the presence of their usual banter, and a smile crept onto his face. He shook his head with a laugh. "No, it's not!"

"Yes it is!"

"Alright then, smart guy, where in the dictionary does it say that?"

"Under the 'S', where it always is!"

"Since when?!"

"Since forever, probably!" Ahhh, there it was; Globox's smile in kind. That's what confirmed it in Rayman's head that he knew they were teasing. "And the way I learned it, you wanna know? Lila's getting to be real big — you know her, the one who makes you read those stories with all the nice pictures?"

"Yeah, I remember her. Nice kid."

"Well recently, she's been reading words, real words, all by herself! And she likes it a lot. So me and Uglette got her a few easy books to go through, and when she doesn't know what a word means, we look it up together!"

Looking back, Rayman could confirm that yes, his heart might have melted at the image of Globox being a loving father, but that still didn't mean he was wrong about this being an illegitimate string of letters. "Alright, fine. If you really did look it up, what does it mean?"

"Oh, that's easy. It means tasty! Delicious! You know, when you eat something good. It rhymes with 'yummy', after all."

"Then what not say that?"

"What, yummy?"

"Yeah!"

"Gosh, I dunno. Why does anyone say anything?"

… Huh. Why do people say anything, really? Ly could probably find some truth in that, if he remembered to repeat it to her.

"I guess," Globox shrugged, making Rayman sway on his feet, as he smiled once more, "maybe it's to make it sound more appetizing?"

"Globox, no offense, but that's the least appetizing word I've ever heard — scrummy? Seriously?"

"What's wrong with scrummy?"

"It doesn't even sound like a word anymore!"

"Yeah, because you keep repeating it!"

"Me?!" Rayman's cheeks burned from grinning so much. "You're *the one who keeps saying it! And anyway, what *isn't wrong with it? It sounds exactly like another, even better word, doesn't sound appealing at all, and doesn't even feel like an actual —"

"Hey, Rayman?"

"Yeah?"

"Can we talk about this a little later? My arms are getting tired."

It was then that the limbless realized he was still balanced atop his friend, with no fruit to show for his efforts.

"Oh," he blinked, large grin shriveling into a sheepish half-smile. "Sorry! Maybe… I can try jumping up instead? Count of three!"

When the sun fell and evening arose, and the berries were reached, picked, washed, peeled, and taste-tested for chocolatey perfection — and found to be true — Globox brought Rayman to his house and had Lila show him a certain term in the 'S' section of the dictionary. Rayman studied it with a shrewd eye, burned red, and admitted, in the face of the blue frog's triumph, that perhaps he needed to read a little more. Lila was all too happy to assist in the matter.

Father, daughter, and thingamajig sat in a circle, the youngest reading aloud to them as best she could between bites of — as they all agreed — positively scrummy whiplick berries.

NEXT RAYEACH (Rabbid Peach x Rayman) FANFIC VOTE!!! 💖🧡

I have a lot of ideas, but I can’t decide which one I want to work on first. So I’ll let you guys decide!! I’ll probably get to them all at some point. :D

I’m already working on Part 2 of “Lights, Cameras, Actions!!”, but- I thought it’d be fun to involve you guys in deciding what comes next! You can check it out right here (1st Part).

Nightmares:

-Rayman has a nightmare about his past. He turns to Rabbid Peach for comfort. Phantom Roommates AU Canon. Themes: Hurt Comfort, Friendship, Romance

A Day in the Life of Rayman:

-Rayman goes for a shopping trip! He has a bunch of misadventures along the way. Phantom Roommates AU Canon. Themes: Slice of Life, Humor, Friendship, hints of mutual pining

Lessons In Thingamajig/Rabbid Anatomy:

-A series of short drabbles written from the perspectives of Rayman and Rabbid Peach. She’s curious about his anatomy, so she makes a log for her followers to listen to her ‘studies’. All with Rayman’s consent of course. He makes one too to get back at her playfully, as he’s also a little curious about her.

-Basic rundown: These drabbles will share some headcanons of mine about the Thingamajig and Rabbid Species. There will be humor, friendship, and slow hints of romance sprinkled throughout these of course hehehe >:]

EGADS!!! Not Love!!:

-Phantom Roommates AU Canon. Rayman has a talk with Globox about some strange feelings plaguing his mind about his friend Peaches (Rabbid Peach). From there, he has some shocking revelations about himself and his new found affections for his Rabbid friend.

Jeepers Creepers!:

-A Captain Laserhawk AU (Undecided Name). Rabbid Peach protects Rayman from a creepy fan.

“Bonjour bon monsieur. Comment vas-tu?”

“WHATAREYOUSAYING-?!” (Tell me I get it wrong, please let me know)

•Can’t cook for shi-

•My man almost burned down the kitchen-

•..At least Mr.Dark didn't find out?-

•Have a crush on Peaches

•Ask Gloxbox for advice..

“How did you get Uglette?!”

“…Easy. I do nothing-”

“That was a lie-”

“Shut up Murfy-”

•Was about to confess Peaches in Mr.Dark’s ball.. But..

•A Fairy Enchantress shows up to ruin it.

•…After that.. Raymesis started blaming him.

•Rayman felt very guilty seeing his friends turn to objects because of his mom

•Haven’t eaten well or slept well, can’t look at his friends…

•Peaches and Globox reassured him.

•Rayman felt a bit better.

•Raymesis apologizes to him by force. (Peaches scared the shit out of him.)

•When Jeanie arrived he thought surely it was not her to break the spell..

•His Master is Gay! (Head-Canon)

•Took him 5 minutes to see a ring on her finger

• “Ohh-” *Cue Raymesis smacks Rayman’s head behind*

•Daydreams a lot. Mostly about Peaches

•Blow out his fire, not wanting to Repeat from last time.

•In his spare time he hangouts with his friends but mostly hangout with Peaches

•Loves to hear Peaches' stories and is very curious about her homeland. I mean Two Princess?! One of them is named after a fruit and the other a flower? Now he was curious are they that?

•In future chapters he was happy that his Master/Friend finally found love and started a- (*NOSPOILERS-*)

“Dad, Globox wanted me to tell you he will not be here for the past few days..”

•Somehow friends with Murfy?

“Lol skill issue-”

“At least I don’t have Daddy Issues.”

•When Betilla came in and cursed his dad and the others guess who he blamed first.

•Almost beat Rayman but was stopped by Mr.Dark (Might make a fanfic of that-)

•Was surprised he turned to a candle stick. *looks at Ray* “Of course- WE HAVE TO BE THE SAME-”

•Is scared of Peaches. Did or did not get threatened by her to be thrown out-

“She’s innocent-”

“IN HER EYES IS NOT.”

•Doesn’t have hope if the spell can be lifted

•Was shocked Beep-O was staying here

“HA! Once those two fall in love the spell will be lifted!! Take that Raymesis!!”

“…”

“..Raymesis?”

“..”

•Rayman was right.. He hates to admit that.. But.. He was right.

•Since Beep-O is staying here at least he can tell him some tips/facts about Mr.Dark.

•In one of the future chapters he helps Beep-O make a cake for Mr.Dark (One of Mr.Dark’s favorites)

•Saved Ray being burned by a Villager from the Mob Fight

“I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO BULLIES

HIM!! GET AWAY FROM HIM!!!”

“Yeah..! Uhh.. Thanks-?”

Captain lasserhawk bl manga be upon ye soon, fr I'm so excited to get that comic soon along with the French comic, I'm also glad that this series has gotten a good amount of traction. It really gives me hope that season 2 might happen sometime in the coming years. I do wonder who else might actually appear, Rayman characters aside since they're confirmed, like how many other ubisoft properties will appear officially instead of background segments.

Me too anon I wanna know just what the relationship between Alex and Dolph was like before the show and how toxic it really is now that Dolph is looking back on that time without rose tinted glasses

I hope the French comic gets an English translation of some kind, I wanna know what the deal is with Dolph's even more emo looking friend feel free to give me spoilers on that though

I've been doing my own research regarding ubisoft properties outside the obvious and popular stuff (a lot of generic shooters in the library, all the more impressive how creative the show ended up being). One thing that's stood out to me is this game called child of Eden

Play through here if you wanna see it's visuals , which in my opinion look very pretty but overstimulating to focus on. I don't know what the copyright/trademark status for this game is since it was a collaboration with a real band, the character Lumi being based on a real person, or if they'd ever even reference it much less use elements from it. But Lumi being a collection of memories of someone whose long dead while referred to as child of Eden feels like peak fanfic material. I can imagine her in the laserhawk universe as a character similar to S.A.M from canon Busters or Nia from gurren lagann (an anime on my watch list but I already know Nia is my fav) , a sweet not quite human girl who has a lot more going on under her cheerful personality prob be a little sister figure to Dolph lmao

I desperately want to see these twins too just for the aesthetic possibilities of their designs alone, especially if you can give at least one them ridiculous long pigtails. Could totally sneak in some Sailor Moon and similarly cute anime references into their designs considering they have a rabbit motif , maybe even a pet Rabbid?

And finally I wanna know if and how Prince of Persia fits into this remixed universe. I haven't had much chances to rewatch the show proper, but I couldn't help but notice that despite how popular and more well know it is (compared to the handful of shooters in Ubisoft's library), the anime hasn't made any references to Prince of Persia. I'm not holding my breath for laserhawk to reference Prince of Persia since the series is strongly in the fantasy genre compared to the show being sci fi, but they got Rayman in this show already and Adi confirmed other characters from Rayman's world will appear, so it's not like it's completely off the table

Also more aliens, just, I kinda see more aliens (not Rayman related) pop up here

"Not the end. Globox bring good gift from Ly."

"Ly, the fairy?!"

Ooooh perfect!

That is just what they need right now! Rayman feels his spirit lift with anticipation as he watches Globox dig around in his gullet… only to come up empty-handed.

He gulps an awkward "Uh Oh" and Rayman nearly feels all the color drain from his face.

"Uh Oh? What do you mean 'Uh Oh'?"

"Well uh… It's uh… gone."

"Did you eat my Silver Lums?"

"...maybe? Is that what happened?"

"You ate my Silver Lums."

"Sorry."

Rayman has to compose himself before his hands hit the floor, and begins pacing instead.

"That must mean that you’ve also got my powers,” he mulls, his hand scratching his chin in thought. 

"What?!" Globox bolts almost immediately, "Globox no want your powers! Take them, take them please."

"I can't!" Rayman nearly shouts before he sees the look on his friend's face and more quietly accepts in defeat that- "I can't."

For a moment there's a quiet sense of dread, but then Rayman breaks the silence with a pump of his fist.

"But!" he exclaims triumphantly, "I can teach you! We just gotta figure out how that works for you."

Globox doesn't seem convinced.

"Oh, Globox don't know, Rayman."

"Don't worry!" the hero tries to encourage him, "Before you know it, you'll have fun!"

He gives Globox an encouraging pat on the back that makes him hiccup out an energy sphere. It ricochets off the walls in a way that forces both of them to duck in order not to be struck when the sound of clattering metal grabs their attention.

"The vent! Globox, we're free. You did it!"

The frog hiccups again, without a sphere this time.

"Oh no."

"Come on, let's go!" Globox doesn’t get a say in it as Rayman tackles him from behind and the two of them are taking a 2 out of 10 stars slide down the pipes.

Okay, 3 out of 10 - the ramp does send them flying somewhat spectacularly!

"Flyyyyy, Globox. You gotta flyyyyyy!"

Rayman yells as he clings to Globox.

Globox in turn yells louder as he clings to Rayman.

"Globox don't know hoooooooowwww!"

"Aaaaaaaah"

"Aaaaaaaah" 

they both yell as they're freefalling from the buccaneer.

When they hit the ground it's with a surprisingly soft 'boing' as Globox feathers their fall and makes them rebound into a bush.

Rayman is still seeing stars when he comes to. 

"Are you alright?" he asks. Globox beside him doesn't seem to be actually hurt, but he's definitely fretting.

"No! No, Globox not alright!"

"Hey, hey, easy. Calm down first!"

He finds the frog hanging upside down in a berry bush, holding his eyes closed and quivering.

"Hope isn't lost. You've got my powers. I'll teach you how to use them!"

"But Glob-globox can't fight p-p-pirates."

Rayman untangles himself with ease (a perk of lacking limbs) and reaches up his hand to pat Globox's bald head.

"There, there."

That seems to calm the frog down at least, and he stops panicking for the time being. 

“I promise,” Rayman says and takes a step back so Globox can see him well, “You won’t be alone the entire way.” He splays out his hands in offer and the frog hiccups one more time before he starts climbing out of the brush on his own. 

“You promise?” he asks and finds himself pulled into a tight hug. 

“We can do this!” he asserts. Truth be told he isn’t sure how… but he’s certain they can.

“Hey!” he suggests, “Let’s find Ly. Maybe she can fix this, alright?” 

A smile grows on Globox’s face and he wipes something from his face (has the big guy been crying?).

“Okay,” he agrees. 

“She usually likes to hang around by the Fairy Glade,” Rayman ponders as he walks a little ways ahead to get a feeling for where they landed. 

“And it isn’t far from here!” he realizes in jubilation, before heading back to Globox and taking him by the hand. “Come on, let’s go!”

....

So, uh... here’s a thing I guess :’D

This song just goes so hard and it doesn’t help that the storyboard looks like a 2D Jump and Run Level. With creatures that look like stuff right out the Origins Reveal Trailer. And Rayman’s hidden move being, you know-

I don’t plan to make a big deal out of this and turn this into a full-blown crack AU, but I’m kinda curious to test the waters or at least throw the idea out for someone else to adopt :’D

I’d certainly love to see something done with this, but maybe other media are better suited for this ✨
