it's fascinating to me that every member of the party pre- and during loops treats siffrin with some flavour of alienation. like, bear with me. this post is going to sound like im here to give a hot take that the party are Bad Friends, Actually, but i promise you that's not what i mean. you're with me? okay. let's go.

isa idolises him (in the having a crush on someone type of way).

mira views them almost as a book character (the whole "the aura! the mystique!" conversation).

odile calls them a child to their face multiple times.

bonnie is... well, bonnie. kid is coping how they manage.

in the very beginning of the journey we have isa and mira, who, out of all five, are the most familiar to eachother. they're from the same country, they both actively follow the change religion, they both occupy (or occupied, in isa's case) well-respected positions in society, they're very close in age and i would assume socioeconomic statuses. they share a lot personality wise, too. they're both anxious about not being enough, about not changing enough, they're both open and emotional and affectionate, they even both like romance novels! they are very in eachother's comfort zones. they are very understandable to eachother.

then there's odile. she is as different as it gets – she's ka buan (and well half vaugardian but nobody knows that), she's old, she has different religios beliefs and different history with body craft, she's confident, self-secure, reserved, sarcastic and at times cold and makes it very apparent that she's not into openly displayed affection. but also, she is actively choosing to be seen this way. she is comfortable with being perceived like this.

and then, there's siffrin. a mysterious traveler with mysterious past that doesn't like to be touched and never talks about his feelings. where are they from? what he believes? what did he do prior? why did they join them? noone knows. situation kinda similar to odile's, but kicker is, we know siffrin does not want to be seen this way.

mira, being a somewhat sheltered not very experienced young adult (she's from dormont with population less than a regular highschool class, and has been living in the house for some past years) with more familiarity with books than with real world obviously views them more as a cool character than a person. and i can't blame her! siffrin doesn't help her view them any differently either.

isa i assume catches feeling almost immideately (the whole journey takes less than a year, sif is second to last to join and we know that isa's crush has been going for months) and it's universally hard to not idolise and idealise the person you're having a crush on, so even tho isa is more experienced than mira, i imagine he fails to see siffrin as a whole person too.

odile out of all of them grinds my own personal gears the most. i love you, old wise lady, but oh god. the amount of times she refers to the party and in particular siffrin as kids or children is sure something. and the thing with kids is that you generally don't view them as equals, so, no "seeing siffrin as a person that he is" there either.

that's general dynamics. now to what interactions we actually see in game:

odile mocks siffrin for being forgetful. every time siffrin forgets a word, everyone reacts as if they don't remember that vaugardian isn't siffrin's native language. both isa and mira behave patronisingly towards them (jokingly, but still). the whole party spends some time comparing siffrin to a wild animal in the dictionary conversation, mira saying "what a perfect analogy" with stars in her eyes. one time siffrin desides to open up and tell them about stars, they mock him. when he kills that sadness more violently than usual, they all look at him as if he murdered a baby (i still don't really get why btw. they've been fighting side to side for months). the whole ghost event. ohhh ghost event my beloved.

all of these, for me, point to a very deep yet unacknowledged disconnect between siffrin and the rest of the party. the not-understanding. the unfamiliarity. the alienation. siffrin is other even in their own little ragtag bunch of misfits.

now AM I SAYING that means that the party is bad actually?? no!!! for every interaction i named there's multiple others with them being supportive and warm to sif. also, siffrin, famously, is very bad at telling when something bothers them, so noone whould even know if they were doing anything that upset him. and, on top of everything else, i think it's very natural for a party of very different people traveling in a lot of hurry and discomfort and plain mortal danger for months to develop a bond where "i would die for you, my siblings in arms, but i also will poke fun at your religion when it starts to sound too impossible for my worldview. what do you mean stars are there in the daytime too? don't be silly". i actually really appreciate their friendships being imperfect, because it's so much more interesting and thought provoking this way. like, I've been thinking about this for weeks.

and also, this specific type of imperfection plays into the core themes of siffrin's character. to be welcomed, adored, loved, even, but not understood. not recognised. not known. and to not even try to explain untill the world is literally ending.

It started as a seemingly ordinary day, the morning sun casting long shadows across your family’s estate as you went through your daily routine. Your newly assigned bodyguard, Sergeant James ‘Bucky’ Barnes, always stood at a discreet distance away, scanning the surroundings with his practiced vigilance. 

You adjust your bag on your shoulder, giving Bucky a small smile. You always felt a strange sense of comfort knowing Bucky was near. He was more to you than just your protector; he’s your father’s best friend since childhood and second-in-command. You’ve known and trusted him for your entire life.

The estate’s iron gates creak open as you walk towards the car waiting to take you into town. Bucky’s posture remained relaxed, but you noticed the slight tightening of his jaw. He’s always alert.

The Rogers Estate; is strategically located offering privacy and security. Situated in a sprawling countryside upscale neighborhood. Surrounded by acres of lush greenery and perfect landscaping. Shielded by towering walls and guarded gates, the head of the Rogers family believed security was paramount. Installing state-of-the-art surveillance throughout the entire grounds. There was not a single blind spot, he saw everything. 

Yet, no fortress is impervious, and danger always finds its way in.

Suddenly, a screech of tires shatters the silence of the estate. A black van swerves into the driveway, and masked men with guns begin to pour out. The peaceful morning instantly turned into chaos as the men began shouting orders and brandishing their weapons. 

“Get down!” Bucky barked at you, pushing you behind a marble column. 

Drawing his weapon, Bucky fired with deadly precision. Your heart pounded in your chest as you crouched low, bullets ricocheting off stone and metal. You weren’t entirely native to your parent's work, you’ve always known they had enemies, but this was the first time you felt their malevolence so close. 

Bucky moved like a predator, every shot he took neutralized a threat. He was outnumbered, but his determination and training kept him in control of the situation. As you peek out, your fear mixed with awe at his focus.

Your breath catches in your throat as you notice one of the attackers rushing towards you. Bucky’s gaze met yours for a brief moment before he was able to react. In what felt like the speed of light, he tackled the man to the ground, disarming him and delivering a punch so brutal it left the man unconscious.

In the distance, you notice the familiar SUVs arrive, the estate’s backup security. The shoot-out ended as quickly as it began, leaving an eerily silence in its wake. 

Bucky reached out to help you to your feet, his pull gently. “Are you hurt?” he asked with urgency as he examined your face. 

“No, I’m okay,” you reply, your voice trembling. “Thanks to you.” you offered him a small reassuring smile, and he returned it as he reached out, rubbing your cheek with his thumb for only a moment. 

Your father, Steve, arrived moments later, his face contoured into a controlled fury. Rushing over, he embraced you tightly before turning to Bucky.

“Who were they?” he demanded, his eyes turned a deeper shade of blue with his anger.

“They looked like Rumlow’s,” Bucky replied, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow. “It seemed like a random hit. But,” his voice trailed as he took another glance at you. “We need to tighten security all the same, they knew when to strike.” 

Your father nods, his expression hardening the more the gears in his head turn. “I’ll speak to Stark,” he stated firmly, referring to Tony Stark, a longtime ally of the Rogers family and exceptional in mechanics and technology. 

As your father began making calls to arrange meetings, you stood by reaming close to Bucky. His eyes, usually sharp and focused, softened as he looked down at you. He placed a hand on the small of your back, ushering you towards the safety of the house. 

Inside, the atmosphere was tense but yet, controlled. Bucky remained close by your side, guiding you to a secluded area of the house, away from the commotion your father brought back in with him behind you. 

Before you can fully process the events that happened moments ago, the door bursts open with a thud, and Natasha, your mother, storms in. Her eyes were wide with fear and desperation, a look you had never seen your mother sport.

“Are you alright?” she demanded your answer, trembling with emotion as she rushed toward you. Her hands reach out to cup your cheeks, moving your head and twisting your body to assess any signs of injury. Her controlled demeanor which she usually wears, shattered.

You met her gaze, she searched for reassurance in your eyes. “I’m okay, Mom,” you tried to reassure her, your voice threatening to discredit you. “Uncle Buck kept me safe,” you shot her a small smile. 

Grasping you into an embrace, she turned to Bucky, “Thank you,” she whispered, sincerity laced in her tone. 

Bucky nods, “I won’t let anything happen to her,” he vows to one of your parents, for the second time.

As the days passed, you found yourself seeking peace again in the tranquil embrace of the garden. The vibrant blooms and gentle rustle of leaves provided a calm sanctuary for your mind. 

You were suddenly startled by the sound of approaching footsteps. Glancing up, you saw Peter, your twin brother, emerging from the shadows. His presence casts a shadow over the serenity of the garden. 

His gaze was cold and calculating, “What are you doing here?” his voice dripped with contempt as he approached. 

He was, ever the hostile older, by 3 and a half minutes, brother and you could only assume that his mood had only worsened since your parents cut his business trip short. Despite sharing the same bloodline, your paths diverged sharply. 

“Reading,” you replied, trying to keep your voice steady as you gestured to the book you were holding.

Peter scoffed. “Of course,” he muttered, his eyes narrowing as he surveyed the garden. “Always so sensitive, one little scare and you seek refuge in pretty flowers.” 

Your grip on your book tightened, and the sting of his words cut deep, “Just leave me alone.”

A cruel smile tugged at the corners of Peter’s lip, his eyes gleamed with malice. “Make me,” he taunted, snatching the book out of your hands. You watched with frustration as his actions were fuelled by his desire to provoke and intimidate. 

“Give it back, Pete,” you demanded, rising to your feet.

Peter laughed, a harsh, mocking sound that echoed through the garden. “What’s the matter, little sister?” he continued his taunts, flipping through the pages. “Can’t handle a little fun?”

Your fists clenched, the urge to lash out nearly overwhelming. But, the years of conditioning yourself to keep emotions in check and not be like him, held you back. “Just give it back,” you repeated, your voice almost breaking.

His grin only widened, he thrived in your discomfort. “Or what?” he challenged, “What are you going to do about it?”

Before you could respond, a voice cut through the tension, sending both you and Peter snapping your heads around in surprise. 

“What’s going on here?” Bucky stood at the edge of the garden, his expression was a mix of concern and disapproval as his gaze flickered between you and Peter. “Peter, your dad wants a word with you,” 

Hesitating for a moment, Peter narrowed his eyes in defiance. But, he ultimately tossed the book aside with a dismissive flick of the wrist, indifference spread across his features. As he disappeared toward the house, you let out a shaky breath. The tension drained from your shoulders as you kneed down, reaching for your book.

In your haze, you never noticed that Bucky had also knelt. For a moment, his hand grazed over yours and your gazes met.

4th Dec. - Tickle

Dean and you were on a research spree today. Running from one witness to the next all across town. One of the oddest was definitely the bird freak who held peacocks in his apartment. Once you sneaked off to get a glance into his bathroom, you instantly knew that this freak wasn’t holding his private cute little bird zoo but in fact his personal butcher shop. And judging by the bloody – or rather – feathery mess, it looked like he had just mauled one. Well, turns out he was the ghoul you were after. A few moments later you two were already bashing the guys head in, probably scared the life out of the remaining cocks in the process and ultimately Dean chopped the bastards head off with the swing of his axe – just to be sure.

Monster dead, peacocks released into the wild, job done.

Fast forward and you two are stumbling into your shared bedroom at the bunker, both dishevelled and with some blood splattered across those fake FBI suits of yours. Neither of you could care any less right now, though. You let out an exhausted sigh while you start to unbutton your shirt, your back turned to Dean. Big mistake. Before you can react, you find yourself in the air, your feet kicking in surprise with a short high pitched scream which gets cut off as you get tossed onto the bed. It takes you a moment to roll over onto your back, your eyes instantly locking with Dean’s. “Well, well… is someone in the mood?” You comment with a tired chuckle. Dean’s green eyes flash at you mischievously while he carries that iconic smirk of his. His eyes never leave yours as he tugs at his tie, smoothly pulling it off his collar before he moves onto the bed, straddling you. “Guilty as charged,” he replies, a playful glint in his eyes. He grabs your wrists and holds them above your head with one hand, swiftly wrapping his tie over them with the other, securing your wrists together.

You don’t fight him, but instead let out a low hum and instinctively tilt your head back, your eyes drinking in the sight of him straddling you while in that good looking uniform, “Goddamn, you know I love it when you wear that suit.” Dean chuckles lowly as he finishes securing your wrists together, tying the knot tightly. He then leans down to capture your lips in a slow, deep kiss, his tongue swirling around yours with a soft groan against your mouth. But after a moment he pulls back again, leaving you breathless and craving for more. “I know,” he finally replies in a low, gravelly voice. His hands run down your side, his fingers tracing the curves of your body beneath the fabric of your suit. “Now, let’s see how much you love it up close and personal.” Before you get to reply, your lips part for a soft gasp at the way his mouth trails down your neck, nipping slightly at your collarbone. His hands follow suite to unbutton your blazer and shirt, his fingertips slowly trailing down your exposed skin. A shiver runs through your body, and you can’t keep yourself from subtly grinding your hips against his growing erection. You were tired, yes, but also horny. “Tired and horny” as you two would always call it. Unfortunately for you, Dean has different plans for tonight than a quick round.

Dean’s mouth twitches into a smirk against your skin as he feels your movement and the friction against his boner only fuels his own eagerness. But he holds himself back, his mind set on something different tonight. After the intense and unusual sex session you had yesterday, he had thought of a way to pay you back with his own little game. “Now, be a good girl and stay still for me,” he whispers against the shell of your ear, his voice laced with authority. This just sends another shiver down your spine all the way to your core. Your thighs twitch and your wrists tug against the tie in anticipation while you whimper with silent, pouty lips. But it’s no use – Dean knows all your tricks and he won’t fall for them. He ignores your pleading look by moving a hand to your hips, pressing down to keep you from moving against him with a low chiding “ah-ah-ah.”

A frustrated, soft whine slips your lips at that. You can feel the heat pool between your legs, your need for friction urging you to shift and squirm, to touch him, to feel him. But Dean won’t have any of it. With a little warning smack to your thigh, you freeze in your desperate attempt to defy him and your eyes snap up at him. “Patience, my little sunshine,” he warns, and to make his point, he presses your hip further into the mattress, holding you steady while he repositions himself on top of you. Shifting further back to straddle your thighs now, he continues with his voice dropped to a lower and authoritative tone, “Close your eyes for me.”

You have to stifle a frustrated huff, fighting the urge to just try and break free from the tie around your wrists – you are a hunter after all, and the times you had already ended up with tied up wrists and ankles would make any bondage enthusiast envious - but, knowing that the only way to get somewhere with Dean is by playing by his rules, you decide to submit to him and do as he demands. As always. Damn he really knows how to keep you at his mercy.

Once your eyes are closed, Dean’s smirk shifts first into a satisfied smile before it turns to a mischievous grin. Your heart’s racing and you feel your core tingling in anticipation. Then you suddenly feel him fumble with your shirt and blouse, his hands gently tugging at the fabric, pulling it up and over your head. As the clothings pool around your tied up wrists, he quickly continues to tie them in place against the headboard, leaving your arms stretched above your head, unable to move them. Your breath hitches briefly when you realize that he just tied your arms down and once again you feel a shudder go through your body, the anticipation almost killing you.

You then feel him shift on top of you, his twitching boner grazing your core for a moment before he moves down your body. His hands roam over your hips and thighs as he unbuttons your pants and slowly slips them off along with your panties. Goosebumps flash across your body as you feel the cold air hit your skin – but also because you can practically feel Dean’s eyes on you. Drinking in the sight of you completely naked and tied down and at his complete mercy. After a moment of silence, you can hear him get up and walk to the foot of the bed and you instantly tense up from anticipation, your eyes still shut tightly. You try to listen to his every breath, just like you did last night in the dark, trying to guess his next move – but then your breath catches in your throat. You feel a hand on each of your ankles as they gently get pulled apart, opening you up nicely while he pulls them close to the bedframe where he ties them up as well. You swallow thickly, your thighs slightly trembling from the new level of vulnerability. Goddamn you were at his complete mercy now. And it is enough to turn you into a pathetic version of soft whimpering, shaky breaths and teeth gnawing at your bottom lip since there is literally nothing else you can do any more.

Dean takes a step back to eye his finished work with a low, pleased hum. Let’s begin the teasing.
