April encounters some strange turtles.
Everyday I think about how cute irl turtles are and yearn to hug them. I'm coping by drawing April doing it instead.

not an aquatic turtle expert, but pretty sure housing a red eared slider in a .00013th gallon singular ice cube tray slot is animal cruelty, but again not an expert . corporate pet stores are getting out of hand

I never mow the patches of English daisies, not so much for the bees, as for her to see something pretty when walking around.

I found a bunch of pictures from my last job working with wild fish and I figured some of you critter-lovers would enjoy them
The angriest red-eared slider I've ever seen
mmmmmMMMMWWAAAAAAAHHH! (paddlefish)
A northern pike. These were always hard to work with because they're super slippery.
Grasp it firmly in your hand (paddlefish)
"I told you, mom, it's not just a phase!" (bighead carp)
Long, long man (longnose gar)
The biggest smallmouth buffalo we caught
The size of this lad (bighead carp)
That's a cute kitty (channel catfish I think)
Softshell turtles wake up every morning and choose violence. This one was trying to bite my finger off as I was taking its picture.
I've never seen a grouchy pancake before (softshell turtle)
Most turtles are chill. Snapping turtles are angry enough to for the rest of them
A freshwater drum. These guys make a grunting noise when they're upset
A bucked o' snoots. Pretty sure we were collecting these so fish and wildlife could tag and release them. (paddlefish)
A water snake
A juvenile gar. Just as pointy as the adults
I have apprehended the criminal
A bigger drum. This was more around the size we usually caught
A very shiny river carpsucker
A very mossy man (red-eared slider)
Anyone want to play darts? (longnose gar)
Looking very dignified (painted turtle?)
Take this, it will be important in your quest (common carp)

More adventures with demutated turtles. I can't get over when basking sliders and softshells stretch out their legs, it looks so silly and cute.
Mikey's behavior is inspired by videos I've seen of box turtles climbing up their owners for... affection? Or maybe just a bite.

Yeah so since red-eared sliders are cannibalistic and stuff
Yes, this happens often. Yes, Raph had to rip them apart. And yes, Donnie has been an unsuspecting casualty of one of these.
And don’t be fooled by Frida’s chill naturedness (in this instance at least) she instigates this just as much as Leo does.
