One of my mutuals just sent me this and it helped calm my nerves down so maybe it’ll help calm yours? 😁

Yeah, after reading that, I will reiterate that "Shameless (US)" Seasons 5 and 6 pissed me off so much that I didn't watch Season 7 until they said that Noel was coming back (and I was a Day-1 watcher like with this show). I watched, and I was mocked (every shipper was), so I stopped watching and let my critical, and viral, articles (so viral that I have it on good authority that the writers read them) about those seasons speak for themselves and didn't watch Season 8 until they announced the course reversal for Season 9. Fans like me, like what feels like every Buddie shipper, are who made them change course and give us exactly what we wanted in Seasons 9-11. This feels too much like one and not enough like the other to me.
John Wells is known as The Dragon of TV (just ask Emmy, Rob, or Lawrence why), and we made him kneel, Tim, other on the hand, has a whole neurosis thing about being canceled. I think that we'll get there eventually if this isn't it already and we don't just accept the first guy that consciously turns Buck's head like I see people doing, because, whilst I, too, like Tommy, he's not the destination, he's a turning point.

Movie #10 of 2024: The X Files
I've been watching the series on Hulu and they remastered it for widescreen t.v.'s and some of the framing is hilarious when they block the actors super close together in the center of the screen.
The first three seasons are fantastic. My favorite episode is probably "Squeeze" which includes snap crackling pop dialog from Mulder like, "Is there anyway I can get it off my fingers quickly without betraying my cool exterior?" [shakes hand wildy]
My other favorite aspect of the early seasons includes on location shooting in Vancouver so nearly every episode they're in a forest. This dynamic led to magnificent storytelling decisions facilitated by editing such as Mulder knocking on Scully's door and handing her a ticket because they've got to get on a plane to leave D.C. and fly to Washington state. Smash cut to Mulder and Scully in a 1994 Ford Taurus driving INTO DANGER (a forest). Because something bad and scary happened there (forest bad)!
Oh yeah, they also made this dumb movie at some point in between seasons. Duchovny and Anderson exude tiredness as they over and under emote their way through this oddly paced nothingburger of a movie that serves as a way to kill the one cool old english guy and doesn't make a whole lotta sense continuity wise. And then they've gotta get right back to work on the next season. It's fine.

pairing: peter parker x fem!stark!reader
summary: you and peter have to fix a little mistake one of the avengers made. luckily you're a great team
warnings: flirting, theft lol
note: i realized too late i hadn't put it in the queqe lol!
the night sky loomed above you, a soft haze of stars disappearing into the city’s light pollution. a high-rise office building stretched into the clouds, and at its base, peter was already halfway up, scaling the glass like it was nothing. your fingers tapped the device your dad had insisted you bring, ensuring your escape route was intact—just in case.
"the probability of falling to your death is one in three," you called out, voice laced with dry amusement as you watched peter's slow climb from the ground.
from above, peter’s voice crackled through your earpiece, laced with sarcasm. "what do the statistics say about people with spider-powers?" he paused to look down at you, clearly rolling his eyes beneath the mask.
with a smirk, you tapped the small stark tech device on your wrist, instantly teleporting yourself from the ground to the roof he was climbing toward. when you appeared, you peeked over the ledge to see him still climbing, almost there. "they say, that they're kind of slow."
peter stopped climbing and turned his head in your direction, scowling up at you. "ha ha" he muttered, clearly unimpressed. still, you could see a grin forming under the mask as he climbed up the last few feet. "and what do they say about people with teleporting powers and stark-level egos?"
you quirked a brow, amusement dancing on your lips. "that we don’t have time to climb up buildings for fun," you shot back.
"whatever" he replied playfully, as he walked around you, to look through the glass of the roof and into the room beneath it. "do we have any information about the security system?"
"vision has already gotten rid of any alarms or anything else, but we still have a problem"
peter and you stared through the glass next to each other, as larry, the security guard, walked through the hallway. he was one of the kind who took their jobs a tad bit too seriously.
the museum was a place that had never been robbed before, solemnly because of larry.
you loved when your dad would pick you out to go on a mission, the higher the stakes, the better, but he had not disclosed what kind he was sending you on this time, before you had agreed.
normally this was far beyond the mission any of the avengers would take on, but thor had accidently packed on of your dads and bruce's invitation into a box you had planned to gift to the museum.
you had asked him if there was no way to just invent it again, to which tony had rolled his eyes and exclaimed with theatrical dramaticness that there was no way in hell anyone in new york, let alone america would survive, if the little device got into the wrong hands.
both you and peter had advised him not to build life-threatening devices ever again.
but now you were here and there was no way back.
"whatever" peter replied playfully, walking around you to peer through the glass on the roof, his eyes scanning the room below. "do we have any information about the security system?"
"vision’s already taken care of the alarms and cameras," you answered, eyes still locked on the space beneath. "but we’ve got a problem."
you and peter stood shoulder to shoulder, staring down through the reinforced glass at the one obstacle neither of you had expected: larry, the security guard. he was patrolling the museum’s halls with an intensity that would put some SHIELD agents to shame. larry was infamous for taking his job way too seriously, a fact that had somehow kept this museum entirely free of robbery attempts.
peter let out a low whistle, shaking his head. "that’s larry, isn’t it? guy’s basically the captain america of museum security.”
"yup," you sighed, arms crossed as you watched larry methodically sweep each room like he was guarding the crown jewels. "this mission is supposed to be high-stakes, not high-annoyance."
your father had pulled you into this last-minute mission, and you couldn’t help but smirk at the memory of his over-the-top explanation for why this was necessary. thor had accidentally packed one of tony's and bruce’s experimental devices in a gift box meant for this museum, and now that same device was on display, tucked away in some artifact. to tony, this was practically a world-ending catastrophe.
"couldn't you just, you know... build another one?" you had asked at the time, exasperation dripping from your voice.
tony had responded by rolling his eyes dramatically, as if you’d just suggested throwing away the mona lisa. "do you want the wrong hands getting this tech? because that’s how we all end up in serious, world-ending trouble."
that, of course, had been enough to get you and Peter on board. especially after the last world-ending trouble, your father had been involved in, had led to robots invading sokovia and ripping it out of the ground.
but now, staring at larry pacing the hallway like he was auditioning for an action movie, you were starting to regret that decision.
"we’ve got to get him out of there" peter whispered. "or this is going to get messy fast"
you nodded. "and vision can’t mess with his comms or knock him out—he’s just a regular guy, after all. we can’t exactly web him up and call it a day"
"yeah" peter agreed. "but we can’t just waltz in either. larry’s about three steps away from spotting us and sounding the alarm. and there goes our quiet heist"
peter shifted beside you, fidgeting like he always did when he was thinking up a plan. you could practically see the gears turning in his head. he turned to you, his face half-hidden under the mask, but you could feel the grin even if you couldn’t see it. "how good are you at distractions?"
you raised an eyebrow. "depends on the distraction. what are you thinking?"
peter leaned down, pointing at the far end of the hallway where a ventilation shaft led into the room larry was patrolling. "you teleport down there, maybe drop something—make some noise. when larry goes to investigate, i’ll slip in and get the device"
you glanced at the vent, calculating the distance between it and larry’s patrol route. it could work. you could make just enough noise to pull him out of the main exhibit area without alerting him too much.
“fine” you muttered, already prepping yourself. “but you owe me.”
peter chuckled, tapping the side of his mask. "i’ll pay you back in kisses. how’s that?"
"disgusting, actually" rolling your eyes, you disappeared in a flash, teleporting down into the vent, making sure to land as quietly as possible. the cold metal of the air duct pressed against your knees as you crawled toward the room below, spotting larry a few feet away, completely oblivious.
reaching for your utility belt, you pulled out a small stark gadget—a harmless little device designed to make a loud noise when activated. with a quick flick of your wrist, you dropped it through the slats in the vent, watching as it clattered to the floor.
larry’s head snapped toward the sound immediately. His footsteps echoed through the room as he headed toward the noise, flashlight in hand. you teleported yourself back to the roof in time to see Peter lower himself through the glass on a webline, slipping into the room like a shadow.
“good?” you whispered into your comm.
peter’s voice came back soft but smug. "good. I'm heading to the artifact now."
you watched from above as Peter made his way through the room, quiet as ever. he moved between the display cases with ease, his eyes trained on the object in question—a small, unassuming vase, inside of which was the deadly device your dad had carelessly gifted to the museum.
"you think they’d put the dangerous stuff in a more secure spot," peter whispered, now crouched by the display.
"it’s a vase," you whispered back. "nobody thinks vases are dangerous."
peter snorted. "clearly, they’ve never been on a mission with you.”
“clearly, my dad is just as smart, considering he gave a kid a multi-million dollar suit” you teased.
"oh, shut up!" peter shook his head, but you could hear in his voice that he wasn't actually angry or offended at the joke. he carefully removed the vase from its display, switching it out with an identical replica tony had provided. “got it,” he said, holding the real one up to the light.
but just as he turned to leave, larry came back into view. peter froze mid-step, his eyes darting to the closest hiding spot—a decorative column far too narrow to be much help.
“uh, y/n?” peter’s voice was tense. “i think larry’s about to spot me”
“how close are you to the exit?” you asked, already preparing to teleport in if things got messy.
“close enough... but not without being seen” peter muttered. he shifted, trying to move around the column without larry noticing.
you sighed, rolling your eyes. "fine. hold tight."
in an instant, you teleported into the hallway just a few feet behind larry, making just enough noise to catch his attention. he spun around, his flashlight sweeping the area where you had appeared.
peter took the opportunity to slip past, barely making a sound as he darted for the exit.
larry's flashlight landed on you for just a second before you teleported again, this time to the roof, heart racing as you reappeared beside peter.
"that was close," you breathed, watching as larry scratched his head below, completely unaware of what had just happened and probably blaming the hint of your figure on his sleep deprivation.
he let out a soft laugh, shaking his head. “you realize this was extremely stupid, right?”
you raised an eyebrow, not missing a beat. “what, you worried about me?”
peter shrugged, not quite meeting your eyes. “i mean, if you got caught, who else would pull me out of this mess?”
you gave him a playful shove. "please. i’d just teleport out, and you’d be stuck explaining to larry why you’re playing spider-man in a museum."
he grinned behind his mask, shaking his head. “you’re impossible, you know that?”
“yeah, well, you’re the one who drags me into these missions,” you shot back, crossing your arms. “besides, i saved your butt down there.”
peter held up the vase, the light glinting off it's surface. "i think we're even now. how about we call it a tie?"
you smirked. "tie? not a chance, parker. you owe me big time for this"
peter's eyes crinkled at the edges, the grin behind his mask unmistakable. “all right, all right. i’ll buy you dinner.”
“dinner?” you arched an eyebrow. “is that how you plan to repay me?”
he shrugged, but the mischievous spark in his eyes was impossible to miss. “seems fair, right?”
before you could reply, vision's voice chimed in over your comm. "y/n, peter, congratulations on a successful retrieval. the quinjet is ready for extraction."
peter gave a mock salute. "see? mission accomplished. we’re golden."
you couldn’t help but smile as you rolled your eyes. "fine, but next time, you get to deal with larry."
peter paused for a moment, tilting his head slightly. “you sure? i think larry kind of likes you. he was definitely staring a bit when you teleported in behind him.”
you scoffed, shaking your head as you turned to head for the extraction point. "do you ever stop staring at me?"
peter’s voice was soft but completely sincere as he jogged to catch up beside you. “no, not really.”
you shot him a sideways glance, trying not to let the warmth in his voice get to you. "smooth, parker."
he grinned again, slipping the vase into the protective case tony had provided. “hey, can’t help it. you’re kind of hard to ignore.”
"right," you muttered, suppressing a smile. "let’s just focus on not getting caught next time, yeah?”
“deal,” peter agreed, but his voice held that familiar teasing edge. "but maybe we should stick to flirting only after we’re out of danger.”
you rolled your eyes. “maybe you should stop flirting in near-death situations.”
peter shrugged, a playful glint still in his eye. “what can i say? it keeps things interesting.”

Maybe I Was Jealous
Requested Here!
Pairing: John Casey x fem!NSA!reader
Summary: You and Casey go on a mission to get intel. You flirt with the target and Casey gets jealous, but doesn't want to admit it.
Warnings: angst I guess, fluff, teasing, a lot of flirting, mentions of drug trafficking and allusion to murder
Word Count: 3.4k+ words
Masterlist | Casey Masterlist | Request Info/Fandom List
Tumblr media
When you walk into General Beckman’s office in Washington, you don’t expect to see John Casey. Beckman mentioned over the phone that you’d have a partner for this mission, but you didn’t anticipate you’d be working with the NSA’s best agent (in your opinion, at least). Casey doesn’t look away from Beckman’s door when you enter, but you know that he knows you’re there. You’ve worked together before, and you make a good team, but considering that you’ve both recently returned from intense assignments, the current mission is likely important and dangerous.
You sit beside Casey and sigh. He glances at you quickly, but as expected, doesn’t speak.
It is only a few minutes before an agent leads you and Casey into Beckman’s office. She raises her hand to ask you to wait, and you link your hands before your stomach.
“Any ideas?” you whisper.
Casey shakes his head, and you return your attention to General Beckman. One good thing about working with Casey is that you never have to worry about getting distracted by meaningless conversations.
Beckman ends her call and says your name before she opens a folder. “Your assignment is here in DC,” she explains. “The agency suspects that Stephen Reid is planning to rob the Jeffersonian Institute.”
“Why?” you ask.
“That’s where you come in. He’s in town for a fundraising event, but we aren’t sure when or why he’s targeting the Jeffersonian. We need both of you to get enough intel to thwart his plans. What he wants to steal, when, and how. That’s your mission.”
“Yes, ma’am,” you and Casey reply.
“Here are your tickets and room keys. You’re attending the events as philanthropists,” Beckman adds. “Officially, I’m supposed to recommend a cover and method of collecting the intel, but between the three of us, I don’t care how you get it. Just bring it back to the agency and we’ll handle it from there.”
You nod as Casey accepts the folder containing your fake identities and tickets for the mission. Gathering intel seems easy enough, but learning the what, when, and where of a high-scale robbery like this requires a certain touch. Luckily, you and Casey have different touches, and one of them is sure to work.
Tumblr media
“You clean up nice,” you tease.
Casey grunts as he presses the button to call the elevator. “Focus on the mission.”
“Stephen Reid is practically a ghost; how are we supposed to get him to talk to us?”
“We’ll figure it out.”
“Helpful. Thanks for that.”
Casey shakes his head and moves his arm into the elevator to hold the door. You thank him softly as you walk through the opening, then turn back to Casey.
Outside the lobby, a limo awaits you to drive the half-mile through DC to reach the first of many charity events taking place this week. If you’re lucky tonight, or do your job phenomenally well, you won’t have to go to any of the others.
“Could have walked,” Casey grumbles as he adjusts his suit jacket.
“Well, the NSA gave you more sensible shoes than me, so I’m fine with the limo,” you reply.
“You’ll be fine.”
Before you can engage in any other Casey-style encouragement, the driver parks and opens the rear door of the limo. Casey exits the car and buttons his jacket before he extends his hand to help you out. The fundraising dinner is extravagant and crowded, but you hold Casey’s hand tightly as you enter. He glances at you again but doesn’t speak or pull his hand away.
“Reid is at table nine,” you inform.
“He’s at table nine alone,” Casey corrects.
“He doesn’t want drop-ins, Casey. I’ll get him away from the table.”
You take a step toward his table, but Casey uses your joined hands to pull you back to his side. He clenches his jaw and then releases your hand. You nod once to assure him you can do this, then walk toward Stephen Reid.
Stephen looks up, and you send him a small smile over your shoulder. With an extra sway in your hips, you walk past him and toward the bar. He stands and signals to someone before he follows your path.
Casey locates the security guard in the corner and weighs his options. Reid has his own security, in addition to event security, so Casey has to get Reid’s briefcase without detection. Reid won’t be a problem, Casey realizes as he turns toward the bar.
Tumblr media
“Gin and tonic,” Stephen orders as he approaches the bar.
He stops beside you, and you send him another smile as you stir your untouched drink.
“Apologies, I don’t think we’ve met,” he tells you. “Stephen Reid.”
You tell him your cover name and shake his hand. He smiles as he leans against the bar beside you. Casey’s gaze burns against the side of your face, but you don’t move your attention from the target.
“Stephen Reid? The Stephen Reid who was the largest donor to the New York Institute of Art?” you ask.
“The same. My love for art transcends money, though, and I’d do anything and everything to make it accessible to the masses.”
“That’s wonderful.” You flutter your lashes and look up at Stephen to say, “I’m a beginner in the art world, but your donations and activism are admirable. Along with other things.”
“Other things?” Stephen repeats with a laugh. “Like what?”
You raise your hand to his shoulder and lean forward to flirt, “Would saying everything make me sound too eager?”
Stephen lays his hand over yours and moves his other hand to your waist. You smile as you lean forward to whisper, “And you’re good-looking… Is there anything wrong with you?”
“No complaints so far,” he replies quietly. “Please don’t break my heart and point something out.”
“Never,” you promise breathily, looking up into his eyes.
Tumblr media
Casey notices the security guard look away from Reid’s table and takes the opportunity to walk the long way. As he passes Stephen’s previous seat, he stoops quickly and trades his empty briefcase for Stephen’s. Casey looks over his shoulder just as the security guard remembers his job and is none the wiser about the switched briefcases.
Casey stops at the table where you’re supposed to be sitting and watches the bar. From the new angle, he can see Stephen Reid’s back and your face. He slides the briefcase under the table and accepts a flute of champagne from a passing waiter.
Casey sits, rigid and completely upright as he tries to read your lips. You move closer to Stephen with every word you say, but you’ve yet to notice that Casey has done his part. When you move your hands to Stephen’s shoulders, Casey’s grip on the glass tightens.
Tumblr media
“What’s the best piece of art you’ve ever seen?” you ask. “If you can tell me, of course. I’m sure you’ve seen pieces that most people don’t even know about.”
“A few,” Stephen agrees. “Probably an archived Da Vinci in the Louvre. Although… the Jeffersonian here in DC has some pieces that I’d love to see.”
“I’ve lived here my whole adult life and never been to the Jeffersonian. Maybe I should find someone to take me; someone who knows all the best exhibits and spots.”
You smooth your hand over Stephen’s chest as you suggest it, and his gaze drops to your lips quickly. When you notice his eyes are beginning to wander, and assume his mind is growing equally distracted by your flirtations, you lick your bottom lip and stand so your chest is pressed to his. You loop your arms over his shoulders and smile.
“Is there any chance you would have time in your busy art-saving schedule to take me?” you ask.
Stephen nods as his hands move from your waist down to your hips. You move your left hand back to his shoulder and pluck an invisible piece of lint as you lock eyes with Casey.
“Or we could go now,” Stephen suggests.
You look away from Casey quickly and argue, “But it’s your dinner! All these people are here to see you.”
“Tomorrow, then.”
“Tomorrow,” you reply softly. “That sounds perfect.”
“As for this dinner,” he begins slowly, dragging his hands along your sides. “I think I could spare a few minutes to tell you about the finer things of DC. Or to learn about them.”
You push yourself closer to Stephen and say, “I’d like that.”
Glass shatters behind Stephen, and you furrow your brows as you look over his shoulder.
Tumblr media
Casey taps his foot against the briefcase as he watches you get closer to Reid. He only looks away when he notices security guards moving toward Stephen’s table. If they notice that the briefcase beside his table isn’t his, you and Casey will both be burned. Casey pulls the briefcase and stands to go to the bar.
He holds the champagne in his hand as he sits beside Stephen. You don’t even notice he arrives, and now Casey is subject to hearing your distraction rather than just watching it.
The moment Stephen suggests leaving the dinner with you, Casey’s jaw tightens as he wraps his hand around the champagne flute. He downs the champagne in a single gulp, but when he hears you agree to go with Stephen, Casey loses control.
The glass shatters when his hand curls around it, and Casey drops the glass onto the bar before apologizing to the bartender with a lie about it slipping when he picked it up. You look over Stephen’s shoulder at him, but Stephen directs your face back to his before you see Casey’s bloody hand.
“Mister Reid, your special guest is here,” a guard says as he approaches.
“I’ll be right there,” Stephen replies. He turns to you to say, “Come by tomorrow. The front desk will have your name, and we can talk about it then.”
“Perfect,” you answer. “And thanks for the wonderful evening.”
He nods and squeezes your waist gently before he follows the guard to a table near the side of the venue.
“Casey,” you whisper. “What did you do?” you ask when you see his hand.
“Not half as much as you,” he grumbles. He raises the briefcase and asks, “Can we go, or do you need to make more plans with a thief?”
Casey’s snappy attitude surprises you, but you agree to leave. He walks out first, and you follow a few minutes later. As you navigate through the tables, you wave to Stephen and smile when he winks at you. If his briefcase is as revealing as Beckman thought it would be, you’ll never have to see him or feel his touch again.
Tumblr media
When the elevator opens on your floor, you take the briefcase from Casey and then direct him to your room. You put the briefcase on the bed, then push Casey to sit in an armchair.
“Are you going to tell me what happened back there?” you ask.
Casey allows you to lift his hand and remove the leftover shards of glass before you wrap his scratched palm. He only grunts in reply to your question, however.
“Fine,” you reply, focused on his hand rather than his tight jaw or pinched brow. “We’re spies, we don’t talk about stuff, I get it. But if you’re going to let it jeopardize our assignment, you’re going to have to find a way to deal with it yourself or just tell me.”
Casey nods as you tie the bandage around his hands, then stands. You step backward to stay upright in the sudden proximity, but Casey grabs the briefcase and leaves without a word. He’s usually stoic and quiet, but this is new. It’s strange, and you want to know what is bothering John Casey enough that he drew attention to himself by losing control.
Tumblr media
The following morning, you answer a call from Beckman, who tells you what Casey should have last night. Stephen’s briefcase had art details in it, but nothing specific. So, your meet is still on, and an agent returned the briefcase to Stephen’s hotel, stating they got switched unintentionally. The moment your debrief call is ended, you walk to Casey’s room and knock loudly.
“What?” Casey asks as he opens the door.
“If you don’t want to talk to me, that’s fine, but just stay here. Whatever is going on with you has no place in this mission, and you know that Casey,” you say.
“I’m fine. You have to go see your boyfriend again. I’ll be close.”
“You’ll be close, but you won’t talk to me?” you challenge.
“Do your part and I’ll do mine.”
You nod and leave Casey’s room just as quickly as you arrive. If he doesn’t want to talk, you’ll either let him blow the mission or force him to tell you the truth. You’ve seen Casey happy, mad, homicidal, and everything in between, but never distracted like this. Whatever happened at the dinner changed something, and you refuse to let it happen again.
Tumblr media
When you arrive in the lobby of Stephen Reid’s hotel, you provide your cover name to the woman at the front desk and are told that he’ll be down in twenty minutes. You thank her before you walk to the hotel’s café and take a seat at the table behind Casey.
“Don’t break the mug,” you murmur.
“Where is he?” Casey asks.
“Oh, we’re sharing information now? Sorry, I thought we were going through Beckman for that. He’ll be down in twenty. So, if you want to tell me what is bothering you, there’s plenty of time.”
Casey huffs but doesn’t say anything else. You were concerned about Casey last night, but now you’re getting mad. If he’s keeping things from you, how are you supposed to trust him for the remainder of this mission? For future missions? You leave the café to wait somewhere away from Casey. He watches you leave and sighs when you’re out of earshot.
Casey knows that he’s jealous, but he won’t tell you. You’re doing your job, but it was obvious and directly in his face. If you do it so effortlessly for your job, Casey can’t help but wonder what it would be like to talk to you in normal, everyday life. The few times you’ve portrayed couples while working together were nothing like what he saw last night, but he thinks being by your side is a position he could enjoy. So, yes, he’s jealous that an art thief cozied up to you and heard every nice thing you could think of. Whereas he got yelled at this morning.
Tumblr media
“Good morning,” you greet as Stephen pulls you into a heavy-handed hug.
“Good morning,” he replies. “To the Jeffersonian?”
“I’d love that.”
You signal to Casey as you pass the café, but you’re not sure you want him to follow along anyway. The drive to the museum and the first lap Stephen guides you through are less than helpful. He doesn’t mention anything that makes you think he’s looking to steal a prominent display, which probably means his goal is behind the scenes.
“Where’s your favorite piece?” you ask as you lean against his side.
Stephen wraps his arm around your shoulders and looks around before he says, “In a storage room in the back. It’s a priceless, never shown publicly Edvard Munch painting.”
“And I bet you know exactly where you’d display it if you could,” you joke.
“I do,” he answers seriously. “The entire private collection in the Curator’s Vault would make the perfect arrangement. The sale of tickets to view such pieces would find this museum and all of its research for years.”
“Wow,” you exclaim softly. “You really love art. I knew you cared, but this is different.”
“I love a lot of things,” Stephen replies, bending toward you.
You tilt your chin and notice Casey watching you and Stephen. He’s a few exhibits away, but you can see that his shoulders are drawn up and tense, and his jaw is clenched so tightly you think it could get stuck or snap altogether. He’s jealous, you realize suddenly. Casey’s posture isn’t one of concern or anger, those you can identify, but this strange new attitude and refusing to be near you last night, it’s because he’s jealous of… something. You’re not sure if it’s how you’re acting, Stephen’s blatant actions, or the both of you together. Regardless, you have the intel you need, and you signal that to Casey as you dodge Stephen’s kiss. Your phone rings a moment later, a faux emergency from Casey that gives you a reason to abandon your impromptu date with Stephen. You apologize and promise Stephen that you’ll drop by tomorrow - a lie - and meet Casey outside.
Tumblr media
“You’re going to have to tell me before Beckman calls,” you tell Casey as you recline on your hotel bed.
He doesn’t answer, opting to flip through the list of items in the Curator’s Vault. You smile as you look at his profile, because, for once, you know something Casey doesn’t.
“Just tell me!” you try again. “Something is bothering you, you can’t deny that, so just trust me for once-“
“Trust you?” Casey repeats. “You just offered your body up for intel and you want me to trust you?”
You furrow your brows to hide your surprise at Casey snapping. “I did what I had to do.”
“It’s not your thing. Some agents can do that, flirt, and go to extreme lengths, but that’s not you,” Casey adds lowly.
“Why does it matter, Casey? I did my job and we got what we needed!” “Because it didn’t mean anything!”
You resist the urge to tease him and let him know that you can see his jealousy. So, rather than asking Why? Because you want a turn? you say, “Exactly. It didn’t mean anything.”
“It just… It bothered me,” Casey admits under his breath. When you remain quiet, Casey adds, “Maybe I was jealous.”
“There’s nothing to be jealous about, Casey. It was meaningless; I scrubbed every trace of his touch off my skin, anyway.”
Casey shakes his head in barely concealed amusement before he turns to face you. Finally.
“I don’t think I like you when you get jealous,” you say, scrunching your nose. “You avoid me and break stuff.”
“Don’t enjoy this too much,” Casey replies.
“Too late.”
He grunts but stays turned toward you.
“Casey,” you begin again. “You can tell me anything, you know that.”
He nods once before the call from General Beckman connects and you’re both on camera.
“Excellent work,” she applauds. “The Curator’s Vault has been emptied, so when Reid and his team break in tomorrow evening, they’ll be entering a trap.”
“Thank you, General,” you reply.
“Any word on the development in San Antonio?” Casey asks.
You look toward him and tilt your head, but he waves you off with an I’ll tell you later look.
“As a matter of fact, there is word. And plane tickets for the both of you,” Beckman answers. “You’re expected in San Antonio tomorrow morning. Casey, you have a meeting with Mirielle Villeneuve. She’s looking for a new bodyguard.”
“Mirielle Villeneuve? The French supermodel?” you question.
“Her father is suspected of using her bodyguards to traffic drugs out of France,” Casey explains.
“Especially those she likes,” Beckman adds. “Then they disappear.”
“You’re going to make a French supermodel fall for you, her bodyguard, to infiltrate a drug trafficking ring?” you ask Casey.
“Guess it’s your turn,” he says.
General Beckman shakes her head, not caring what it’s your turn to do before she instructs you and Casey to be careful and keep her informed.
“Forget the jealousy for a second,” you tell Casey. “What am I supposed to do for this mission?”
He tosses a box toward you, and when you see the wedding ring inside, you know that you’re about to experience a deeper level of jealousy than Casey did.
“Can I ask one question?” you ask.
Casey exhales before he nods.
“Did you get jealous because it was me or because of the situation?”
Casey turns away and begins packing his bag. You nod to yourself before you begin to do the same.
“You,” Casey answers after a moment.
“Keep that in mind when we get to San Antonio.”

Synopsis | After robbing Lunar Bay Resort, home to one of the most powerful people in the empire, but being seen by a strange kid free to roam the private housing wing, a young rogue from the underground must engage in an elusive game as his witness takes the offense more personally than originally suspected. This intermission in the Anthem series tells the story of an integral bond that forms before the main story's events.
Main Characters |
Galen (he/him) | 🖼️ | An overzealous member of a young gang in the Cave Cities, Galen is set on proving himself a trusted and invaluable subordinate to his boss. He is both resentful and overprotective of the only home he has--but not the only home he's ever known.
Willow (ve/they/he) | 🩸 | Training as a monk in the prestigious Yorough Temple thanks to vis pseudo-charge and warrior king of Vōā, Klaus Reitvelt, Will seeks to restore what little of vis pride remains and save vis life. If you like__, you may like "Interlude"!
Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer for the weird plants and animals (the existentialism and metamorphic nature is for the rest of the series)
Heroes, X-Men, or My Hero Academia for "super"powers--everyone has the potential, but not everyone awakens them
NieR: Automata for its existentialism and a lot of other inspiration I took from it
A:TLA for the cat-and-mouse between Aang and Zuko
The dynamic between Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong in the Resident Evil 2 & 4 remakes
The complex (albeit non-familial in this context) relationship between Silco and Jinx in Arcane
LotR for its close friendships between men (not in a "what about the purity of brotherhood??!! 😱" kind of way; I am a queer writer who will always write queer stories)
Underground civilizations, figuratively through crime and literally in a mountain
An animistic religion slightly inspired by Shintoism, feudalistic society slightly based on Edo Period Japan
Fantasy languages inspired by Icelandic phonetics
The painting in the moodboard is The Fall by Alan Stephens Foster

say you want me and don’t be nice
pairing: stephen strange x reader
warnings: 18+, smut, improper use of ancient spells (vipers of valtorr), bondage (with snakes), roleplay, p in v unprotected sex, cockwarming, light degradation
kinktober masterlist | main masterlist
Tumblr media
Stephen hissed as he summoned the vipers, sending a shiver down your neck. Why he had to do that, you have no idea, but it makes you feel hot.
One of the vipers twisted itself on your neck, its forked tongue licking your ear. “This is a pretty nice trick, Doctor...but instead of sending these creatures, why don't you come here yourself?” You retorted, feeling one of them tear on your robes. As they stripped you naked in front of the sorcerer, he walked towards you, slowly, circling around you like a snake. The ones wrapped in both of your legs pushed them apart, the sight of you helpless and vulnerable under his mercy made Stephen's cock twitch.
He stops before you, his gaze flickering from your feet up. The sorcerer locks eyes with you. “Is this what you want?” he says, his right hand cupping your core. A sly grin tugged on his lips, “All this for me? I haven't even started yet, darling.”
“Just shut up and fuck me, Strange. I'll be out of your hair once we both get what we want.”
“What makes you think I want to fuck you?” Stephen leans closer, his lips ghosting against yours. His hand made no move to give you pleasure, and you start grinding against them, moaning softly as his calloused fingers bump your clit.
“Well, your dick is begging to be set free out of those robes. I suggest you take it off and start fucking me like the slut you think I am.”
You raise your hand in an attempt to hold his jaw, but the vipers were quicker to constrict your wrists on your back, rendering you completely immobile.
“Yeah? You're my slut, aren't you?” he pulls his hand from your cunt, the vipers turning your whole body around with no trouble, bending you over the slab. You chewed on your bottom lip as the tip of his cock prods on your entrance. “Coming here in the Sanctum, attempting to rob ancient relics...but this is your real agenda, isn't it?”
Strange didn't let you answer, let alone breathe as he thrust himself deep into you. The sound of skin slapping, the moans of pleasure coming from your and Stephen's lips, as well as the constant hissing of the vipers make your head dizzy with arousal. The snake on your neck tightens itself, restricting your breath in delicious and dangerous ways.
Stephen's cock stretches your walls so nicely, hitting the spongy spot with every thrust. He leans down and bites the side of your neck, soothing the skin with his tongue after. You can only whine as he paints bruises on your neck and shoulders. He mumbles against your skin. “This tight pussy of yours is gonna milk me dry...want you to take all of my cum.”
“Go on, Doctor Strange. Fill my pussy up with your cum...” His hips start to lose the rhythm, his thrusts getting frantic in chase of his orgasm.
“Oh my god-” More snakes slithered around your breast, their tongues licking both your nipples; another one down on your folds, its forked tongue catching the sides of your puckered buds and aching clit, giving you the maximum pleasure as Stephen fills you to the brim.
“Cum with me,” he grunts as your walls clamp around his cock, pumping ropes of cum into your pussy.
Stephen disperses the Vipers of Valtorr away, catching your body with his arms. He kisses all of the bruises he made, his cock still buried in you. “You alright, baby?”
You hummed, chuckling softly. “I like them better than the Eldritch whips.”
“One of these days I swear you're going to ask me to incorporate every ancient spell into our sex life.”
“And you're gonna do it anyway.”

Okay okay so, first hi hello how're you? I hope you're doing well. Second, I'm rewatching doctor strange and I had a thought
So for majority of it, he struggles with his hands obv and it makes me think. How would he react to an s/o with carpal tunnel and arthritis?
Every once in a while my finger will dislocate and I'm just oh okay and put it back. And when my carpal tunnel acts up It'll hurt a lot to hold anything remotely heavy
I can also repeatedly pop my wrist cause its funny to see my mom get grossed out. (In reality I'm just dislocating and relocating multiple times over and over lmao)
Pairing: Dr. Strange x Reader Rating || Genres || Warnings: T. Romance. If you're not comfortable with what has been requested, please do not proceed. A/N: I actually laughed out loud when I read your request. And I hope I got the aspect of it right! I hope you enjoy it!

"Well this is just fantastic isn't it?" You grumbled as you found your arms being tied behind your back by a magic-user thief attempting to.....well rob the New York Sanctum.
"Shut up." The man said. At least he sounded like a man, judging by the deepness of his voice. He wore a black ski-mask to hide his identity, so it could be a woman. The physique didn't really give anything away. Or he could be wearing a disguise. Or she.
Argh! Your mind was still a little slow since you hadn't had your coffee.
You still couldn't figure out how the thief had managed to sneak in despite the magic wards. Not to mention he(you decided it was a he) had managed to jump you. Then again, you had walked into the Sanctum kitchen half asleep and still groggy from waking up. From what you could detect, he wasn't a very strong magic user, so incapacitating him would be easy.
But you were wide awake now, slightly pissed off, and cranky as well. Not to mention the bruise to your ego at being caught unawares. So you would play it out.
And enjoy every second of it.
Well you were going to, if Stephen hadn't portaled in at that very moment.
"Welcome home, Honey." You called in a mocking voice, just as the thief turned to press the blade of a knife to your throat.
Huh, where did the knife come from?
Stephan froze up, though the expression on his face was one of pure fury as he glared at the would-be thief. Magic fizzled at the tips of his fingers. "You come any closer-" The thief let the threat hand his voice cold.
"What do you want?" Stephen asked, getting to the business part as usual.
"The Ring of Gyges." You frowned in confusion. That ring was at the London Sanctum.
"Ha! You're at the wrong Sanctum then, buddy." You couldn't help yourself as you let out the laugh, prompting both the thief and Stephen to glance at you.
"Y/n." Stephen called your name in a warning tone, knowing how much you loved to goad the enemy with your banter to draw their attention away from the prime target.
The thief glared at you. "My sources say its here." He insisted. "Well your sources are wrong." You said in a mocking tone. That seemed to tick him off, as he raised a fist and moved to punch you.
But you were much much quicker.
With a twist of your wrist, you managed to dislocate it, allowing the ropes to loosen. And with your other hand, you caught his fist. You grinned at his perplexed expression, raising your dislocated wrist, and watching in amusement at the horrifying look that morphed over his features as he stumbled back.
"Maybe next time, make sure your captives are properly incapacitated." You said. With a flick, your bones were back in place and you threw your leg out with all your might. Catching the thief across the stomach you watched as he went flying, crashing into a nearby table. He seemed to hit his head as he went since he instantly passed out.
Rolling your wrist to make sure it was alright, you turned your attention back to Stephen, who was looking at you with an amused look on his face, a smile barely concealed.
"I still find it amazing how callously you do that." He nodded towards your hand, to which you shrugged. "I've gotten used to it. Though he caught me on one of my good days. If he had tried to take me captive a couple days ago, I wouldn't have been able to do much." You admitted, thinking how your carpel tunnel had been acting up and even lifting a book had been difficult.
It didn't help that most books in the Sanctum weighed a ton.
Walking towards you, he took your hand in his. You watched as his scarred and trembling hands brushed against your palm and fingers. Allowing your eyes to meet his, you gave him a small smile. "We make quite the pair don't we?" You asked, referring to the state of his hands and your own issues with arthritis and carpel tunnel. He sighed before nodding, lifting one of your hands to press a kiss to the inside of your wrist, the one you had dislocated a few moments ago.
You smiled at his brief show of affection before turning to where the thief had begun to stir.
"I'm gonna put some coffee on. We're both gonna need it while we interrogate him." You stated before kissing his cheek quickly and strode off to the kitchen.

SPOILERS!!!!!
SPOILERS!!!!!
SPOILERS!!!!!
SPOILERS!!!!!
I wanna talk about this show (btw pls watch it, it's so fucking good, the characters are peak and the animation is fucking amazing!):
Tumblr media
Episode 1:
-I can't believe they foreshadowed the final boss with fucking Sonic trivia
-Ngl if I asked out a girl and she didn't know anything about neither Sonic or X-Men, I'm dipping the first chance I get
-I was wondering why Scott had the star t-shirt at the beginning, since he only got that at the finale battle with Gideon, to signify his love for Ramona, but with the added context it's not supposed to matter, it's there because it's his most recognizable look
-Matthew's entrance doesn't have the same umph as the movie's. His actor really went all out in that scene, XD
-Sucks that Scott wasn't very involved in this, since he is the title character, but I still loved everything about this. Hope we get to see his arc in the next season
Episode 2:
-Why is Ramona dyeing her hair so damn satisfying?
-Edit: The fact that STEPHEN of all people was the one that gave Scott a euology and was the only one that actually gave a damn XD
And it's pretty sweet that he would have been ok to find out if they sucked, if they found out they sucked together
-"Mommy!" yeah
-I can fucking believe she actually sang that fucking song XD
-Brie Larston is so talented; if I didn't already know she played Envy, I honestly could not tell that was her, but then again I only know her as Captain Marvel, where she has a deeper and much cooler voice
-So, if in the Scott Pilgrim world people just re-spawn at home after being defeated, does that mean that there no one can be murdered or manslaughtered? And if so, how do people actually get a "permanent game over"? Does everyone just die of old age? Also if people bury the coins dropped after someone dies, would that make grave-robbing the most common crime in the world?
-The fact that all Matthew needed to defeat Gideon was confidence is actually very inspiring. The probable reason why he's so extra (besides being a theater kid) is because Ramona dumped him, which really hurt his self-esteem. And while it's kinda sad and pathetic to let a middle school break-up bring down your self-worth, that doesn't mean it didn't suck for Matthew; and after realizing that Ramona wouldn't take him back just because he beat Scott, he finally got a reality check and decided that their goal was pointless, so he moved on from Ramona and decided to make something out of himself, and using the confidence he got from "beating" Scott, he unleashed his true power and was able to defeat Gideon, take his company, and then became successful Broadway actor
-"Et tu, eat me." Roxie is a fucking queen
Episode 3:
-Hey, I didn't asked to be fucking attacked about my writting process, Scott Pilgrim!
-Knives getting more character development besides being obsessed with Scott is everything I didn't know I ever wanted
-I feel you Stephen, I do 😞
-Omg I ship Knives and Kim so much!
-Since Roxie predates Toga, then should be saying that Toga gives off Roxie vibes?
Tumblr media
-I'm in lesbians with all of them
-Roxie is so fucking horny lol. Tho I can't blame her, I would go rent to that video store everyday to talk to Kim or Hollie... and immediately choke and explode before a word comes out my mouth
-Also, fun fact: Hollie looks like a milf, but she's actually 26!
-Nice of that lady to apologize to Robot-01. He doesn't deserve all the mistreatment he gets, he's a good boi
Episode 4:
-Holy fuck this animation
-Bro, what is that song? XD
-'Edgar Wrong' XD XD XD
-Young Neil is a fucking treasure
Tumblr media
💚 :3
-Straight Wallace is an anomaly that should not be allowed to exist
-Notorious heterosexual
-People are 100% saying some bullshit like, Lucas is only going out with her because he's secretly a pedo is only likes her because she's PLAYING a 17-year-old and that feeds his fetish
-Already saw a meme of the "My God!" clip, keep those coming people!
-Holy fuck this animation!!
-The paparazzi looking like cockroaches, nice
-I feel really bad for Lucas, he's actually a nice guy
-And then he fucking yeets a kid and steals his skateboard XD
-"Watch out guys, Vegan comin' through!"
Episode 5:
-I feel a little bad for Todd, but it's also so satisfying seeing this jackass, who thinks he can get away with anything because he's a rock star, get wrecked
-Weird the Vegan Police didn't show up to take away his powers tho; maybe they were informed of the situation and decided to give him a pass this time.
I really hope they expand on the whole concept of being Vegan in season 2
-Edit:
Envy: Hey, ask them what it feels like to always get his sloppy seconds?
Ramona: How does it feel-?
-I love how they expanded on the Stephen & Knives friendship :3
-I did not recognize Simon Pegg and Nick Frost until the end where they had the cornettos XD
Episode 6:
-Honestly, surprised they didn't bring up that Julie had a crush on Scott, and that's why she's always a bitch to him, specially because this is an anime, they can actually call her a tsundere!
And while we're on that, anyone think it's weird that nearly single girl in the comic had or still has a crush on Scott? Like, seriously? This asshole, really? And you just know that if it was a manga made in Japan, Stacie would have a goddamn bro-con complex with him
-Idk how I feel about them just glossing over Gideon just being an absolute monster; like yeah, Ramona was a bitch with most of her relationships and she does tend to run away from her problems, but Gideon was a manipulative, ego-centric, abusive piece of shit. I mean, the guy kept his 6 ex-girlfriends frozen in stasis for appearences or for whatever else he wanted, and he wanted to do the same to Ramona. I like him and Julie being assholes together, but seriously, I hope they touch on that in season 2
-Dude fuck those kids, I would give Gordon so much respect for actually trying that; I wish I had a third of his confidence
-I never knew I needed to see Captain America and The Spot being goofy friends until now
-I headcanon that one of the reasons why they had Matthew take over Gideon's company was so they could finally give him a job XD, tho it was always insinuated that he was in the army, because of the Private Rank patch on his jacket, which they removed in this version and that really sucka because I liked that little detail; it was also another reference to him being the 1st Evil Ex, because Private is the 1st rank in the military
-At least Ramona does recognize that what she did was messed up, even if the Twins were also being dicks, she should have just called them both out and be done with them
-Those fucking Vegan Robots man, I swear to God
Episode 7:
-When Old Scott spoke, I thought it was Ben Schwartz at first lol
-I love how the world isn't the cliché "terrible post apocalyptic world caused by something that happened to the main character", it just looks really crappy, which... yeah, accurate; the look everyone has just seems to be the current fad, they just embraced the post-apocalyptic looking world they live in.
Also that tech is not that advanced, they have hover vehicles and board, and holo-phones, that does seem like they kind of tech we could have in a few decades, maybe
-The fucking Virtual Boy XD XD XD, surprised Scott's eyes weren't on fire after staring into that thing
-Old Wallace is a fucking GILF
-That lucky motherfucker! He probably got the Switch for free!! 😬😬😬
-Nice Death Stranding reference
-Ramona changing her hair color every week was symbolic of her always running away from her problems, but I like that she keeps doing it in the future, just because she likes it
-Of course Future Ramona has fucking Back To The Future roller blades XD
-Both Ramonas are the same fucking size XD
-At first it felt that they just speedran Scott and Knives, but then again Scott probably read a little of Old Young Neil's auto-biography and figured things out. And since Knives wasn't as obsessed with Scott at this point it makes sense that she'd take this a lot better, Kim and Stephen probably helped her out too
-But at least she catharsis by seeing Scott and Ramona not being able to kiss XD
-Oh! And I just realized that she didn't waste her first kiss on Scott! 😃
Good for her!!
Episode 8:
-I think it's dumb they gave Knives her look from the comics without any reason. She only changed her look to look more appealing to Scott in the comics, and in the epilogue she's back to her normal look, like, at least have people mention the look and her saying that she's trying something new
Edit: I rewatched the whole thing and I just realized that Even Older Scott punched the highlights out of Knives' hair XD
-It's basically a meme at this point, but pls have the Katayanagi Twins do something! They had such a bigger role in the comics. At least I wanted to see their combo moves animated!
It's nice that the Exes are actually cheering for them to kiss, or maybe they're just teasing because they can't; either way it's nice
-Even Older Scott is Ramona's 8th evil ex. He debuts in the 8th episode and has studied the powers of all the other 7 Evil Exes along with his own, which adds up to 8.
Tumblr media
Sucks he didn't actually use their powers, I would have loved it if he used Vegan Powers combined with mystical powers, maybe instead of Demon Hipster Chicks he summons little Nega Scotts, he has stronger skateboard tricks than Lucas, he some robot arms that can shoot lasers and can help him do the Twins' combo moves, but doubled
-Edit: The fact that Knives went for Ramona instead of Scott. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!!
-Even Older (Nega) Scott is just Evil Ryu and I fucking love it!!
-Even Older Scott's color scheme not only signifyes just how jaded and lost he's become, but also that Nega Scott has completely taken him over is just *chef's kiss*
-Edit: Todd still has the Wallace tattoo XD also his was my favorite attack, he just teleports and slams down, simple, but awesome
Also Even Older Scott defeated him with a headbutt
-Edit: It would've been funny if he had also punched Roxie in the boob again
-Every future character has "Old" in their name, but Ramona is just "Future Ramona", she will cut you if you call her old. Real missed opportunity to not call the oldest Ramona "Future Future Ramona".
"MILF" and "GILF Ramona" also would have been acceptable
-Sex Bob-Bomb became the new Crash and the Boys, except that instead of having an 8-year-old, they have a 17-year-old.
And Scott now has his actual girlfriend watching him perform
-Looks like Ramona actually enjoyed the stunt double gig. Good for her, tho honestly, she should have stuck with Netflix, Idk why, but I feel like they're gonna blow up at somepoint
-I like the idea of Lucas x Kim, but I would still prefer Knives x Kim, and my personal made-up ship: Lucas x Stacie. I just love big bois with cute smol gfs
-At first, it didn't make sense to see Todd and Roxie hanging out, but then I realized that just like Roxie, Todd was hurt by someone who treated their relationship like an un-important after-thought, a phase; and just broke it up like it was nothing, without any consideration for the other's feelings. And now that Roxie got closure with Ramona she's helping him to move on from this in a way healthier way than she did. (That and they're both gay) That is so fucking wholesome, I need to see them being friends in season 2 pls!! Also sucks she didn't interact much with Matthew, because Satya Bhabha said that he thinks Matthew and Roxie would be friends.
Also this was kinda foreshadowed in episode 2, at the end of Matthew and Gideon's fight, where she mentions wanting to get Vegan Powers after seeing how convinient they are. I need Half-Ninja, Vegan, Lesbian, now!!!!
-Wallace: Holy shit! True love does exist!?
-Ramona is finally gonna stop running away, so she keeps most of her hair as her natural color with a little green at the end to not forget her past and where she came from
-Get wait to see what Goose's game, but it must be in pretty early development, probably untitled even
SEASON 2 PLSSSSSS!!!!
