Dani and Rahne of the New Mutants

This is something very self indulgent for me. I’m a huge X-men fan, and in particular I love the younger mutants. The New Mutants and Generation X teams have always been my favourites. So I had to do my two favourite New Mutant ladies, Dani Moonstar and Rahne Sinclair. Rahne is the wolves if no one knows who they are. She’s a Scottish werewolf mutant and recently got the added mutation to be able to split into 5 russet coloured wolves. So I had to draw that. I’m kicking myself at having to do so many wolves though, it’s not easy. Dani is my fave X-Woman ever. The first time she stood her ground and told Xavier that NO! Sam wasn't going to be the team leader, but she was as well, was when I fell for her. She's headstrong, independent, tough and kind. Her and Rahnes friendship is something I will always love, and I hate when they're apart. They're true soulmates and even have a soul bond that joins their minds in Rahnes wolf form.

theyre all kids who have been through So Much (two of their members dying and coming back to life and the usual trials of being a teen superhero. being wiped from existence and memory and having an iconic cover of them climbing out of their graves. being together through this also.)

Titans:

Ever since they were teenagers they've stuck together. They were all damaged kids with nowhere to go who found a home with each other and grew into mature heroes on par with the Justice League while still maintaining a strong friendship. They will die for each other and will never stop loving each other and they're also just a bunch of dorks and I love them so much.

Absolutely thrilled to be showing you all the last banner I made for the @house-of-dadneto event with my favourite New Mutants and Headmaster Mags! I absolutely adored the dynamic all the kids had with Erik while he was their teacher back in the 80's comics, and my love for it was only renewed with the latest Magneto comic that came out in 2023! If you haven't seen these comics before, I highly recommend them, as it really shows the best of what Erik can be as a mentor/father figure! 💕

Can we talk about this moment for a second?

Illyana went there as a last attempt to save her life, and when she was told that she was essentially about to die (like any minute now), she pretty much accepted it, and:

- Wanted to know if her brother survived the massacre

- Was happy that the last person she would get to see, and who'd be by her side when she passed, was Kitty.

-- Happy with the assumption that Emma quietly suspected the worst and had sent her someone she knew loved Illyana deeply so she wouldn't be alone in her final moments.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Even though Illyana has developed friendships along the way, in her assumed last moments of her life, all that was on her mind were THE TWO PEOPLE SHE CARES ABOUT THE MOST.

It's such a perfect character consistency moment, and I LOVE IT.
