Just two Leo chilling out on on of the rooftops together, nothing angsty about it….nothing at all

I am a true believer that Leo’s knee pain was not just “in his head”, but it got permanently damaged after that fight with Shredder at the end of season 2! He also gave Leo his biggest scar, located on his face, plastron and shell.

Turtles “soul form” usually doesn’t show a lot of details of their original appearances (ha, easier for me to draw). But they can always manifest them themselves, if they want to. Like Leo did here. Or they will show up on their own if the soul is experiencing intense emotions: rage, fear, sorrow etc.

On the side note, Leo really likes spending time on the surface of this other New York. He might not be the biggest fan of it’s loudness, but anything better that being stuck in sword, right? Still not the best place to meditate, now that I’m thinking about it. Only in some quieter neighbourhoods maybe.

Tbh i never understood the hate rise of the tmnt. It was actually really good, but people refused to give it a chance because the internet told them to. Rise deserved so much better

That’s so fucking real though. It’s a shame it didn’t get a chance to shine, because of butthurt nostalgic fans who were offended by the way it was different from the other itirations of tmnt. At least we have an active love and fanbase for this show now :3

ROTTMNT Fun Facts

Hello everyone! So I thought that I share some fun facts that I discovered while rewatching Rise of the TMNT.

The first thing that I came to find out while rewatching the show was that out of all of the main cast, Mikey is the one who shows up in the most, whether that be either as a major character, minor character, or just make a cameo. I counted 62 appearances that were made by Mikey. The rest of the cast is broken down below: Donnie: 61, Leo: 61, Raph: 57, April: 30, Splinter: 35, Draxum: 18

I just find it interesting how Mikey has appeared the most, yet got the least amount of focus in the show. He only got a handful of episodes to truly shine and I think he deserved to get more character development then what he got. I would love to see his struggles of being the youngest and how he has to hold it together as the family therapist. (We were totally robbed of that big brother Mikey episode)

2. The second thing that I noticed about this show was that Donnie and Mikey had the most time together. I counted them being paired 8 times together, and keep in mind this is not counting the movie, which had them together pretty much the whole time. The next pairings to come close were Raph and Leo and Leo and Mikey at 6 pairings a piece. I think this just proves that Donnie and Mikey really work the best together and I love this so much as they are my two favorites of the main crew. PB & J duo for the win baby!

3. To piggy back on what I said above, I really wish that we got more pairings in the show. Like the disaster twins only got 3 pairings together, Raph and Mikey got only 2, and Raph and Donnie only got 2. Not to mention that April barely got any one-on-one time with any of the turtles, outside of Donnie. If we ever get a season 3, I want more of some of these pairings please.

4. The final thing I want to mentioned is that I kept track of some of the nicknames given to the turtles. The first thing that I found was that Donnie has the most nicknames, with the most popular one being D/Dee. As it can be expected, Splinter calls them by their colors the most. For Raph, he had a couple of nicknames but none that were constantly used, though his full name was used the most out of any of the turtles. For Leo, Mikey is the only one to call him Leon and the nickname 'Nardo' was only used once by Donnie, proof that Donnie is the only one to call him 'Nardo' (and I love that). For Mikey, Donnie is the only one to call him 'Angelo' and the main one to call him 'Michael' (which I just find very sweet). Now Donnie is the big one with a bunch of nicknames. April and Mikey are the main two to call him D/Dee, Mikey is the only one to call him Donald, and Dontron has only been used one time by Leo

These are just little fun facts that I found about the show and that I wanted to share with all of yall in case you didn't know.

one of the funniest things about the idea of leonardo meeting other peepaws is that he wouldn't want any of them near teen leo, lest the murderous-toward-younger-self instinct kick in, but like. you already got there. do you remember that? screaming at leo until he had a mental break in front of your entire family? ring any bells? stabbing's not gonna be any worse than that.

Rise of the TMNT my beloved

theres a direct line from splinter’s parenting flaws/issues to the fact that raph’s overall series struggle is feeling like he personally needs to be responsible for protecting his family/carrying them, feels that it all stops with him, that he can’t turn to anyone else to help him with it, to the fact that hes acted as a parent to his own brothers, that he grew up too fast

every day i mourn that rise didn’t get time for a raph-splints ep that might dig into that even a little bit tbh

(i am not a rise splinter hater ftr i love him. i am Not about ppl trying to exaggerate him into being abusive and awful when the truth of the character and his mistakes-- and his growth and active work to improve-- is way more nuanced. he has very real flaws/traumas/issues and makes very real mistakes that impact all of his sons, this just fascinates me)

Rise Leo and 2k12 Raph have literally the same problems (inferiority complex and self worth issues) but cope with it in different ways. Rise Leo inflates himself with a confident façade and jokes around to cope, while 2k12 Raph literally doesn't know how to cope, so he's frustrated all the time wich results in anger outbursts.

Both of them have a period in their arc where they feel the need to prove themselves by acting out and fighting alone wich backfires.

People should really cut 2k12 Raph some slack. They sure cut rise Leo some, so pls no double standarts.

- don’t play with him he HAS and WILL bite you back and NOT in a loving way

- he is ALWAYS on his guard

- you go in for a hug? you lean in to kiss him? you turn your head ever so slightly in his direction? his whole body tenses up. you’re giving this boy trust issues. he will physically, STILL GENTLY, push you away with his mechanical spider arm thingies…heaven forbid you bite those too….

- “Do. NOT. Bite me. Y/N.” “…”

- ^— “DO NOT. This is your last warning.”

- “Yes, Y/N. You’re very ferocious and vicious. Now STOP biting me.”

- “Sigh. That is NOT affection, Y/N.”

- “AH! Don’t bite me while I’m working, please…Don’t bite me ever!”

- “If you want to ‘show affection,’ you could just…I don’t know, hug me? or hold my hand? the biting is unnecessary.”

- NOT a fan of the biting at ALL

Raph

- The first time you bite him, “AHH!” he is confused. he does not understand. are you trying to attack him??? do you wanna throw hands??? what did he do to deserve that??? he does not want to throw hands with you

- he really does not see how biting is supposed to be showing your affection but whatever you say 😭

- his skin is pretty thick and rough. I mean you’d really have to sink your teeth in to hurt him so he just lets you. it actually lowkey tickles to him.

- “Careful. Ya don’t wanna bite my spikes.”

- it’s definitely not his favorite thing in the world but he doesn’t mind terribly if it really makes you happy and as long as it’s just you trying to show him love

- chooses to just take it as a sign that you want attention and/or some kind of affection

- would never bite you back tho

- however, I don’t suggest catching him off guard with a nibble cause he might start swingin 🤺 and would feel absolutely horrible abt it

Mikey

- the first time you bite him he’s offended. you’re gonna bite HIM? 🤨 yeah, ok buddy. he just squeaks in surprise and rubs where you bit him, looking at you like ‘😟’ before biting you back. he is taking it personally until you tell him you’re just showing affection cuz you love him soooooo much

- he’s perfectly ok with it then as long as you don’t bite him too hard

- LOVES to give and receive affection anyways so he makes it really easy to bite him when he’s clinging onto you all the time

- always giggles and squirms when you bite him

- returns your bites with kisses all over your face

Leo

- the fucking most dramatic ever

- the first time you bite him he acts like you just shot him

- “OWW!! OWIE! Ugh! Y/N! How COULD you?! BETRAYAL” while gripping where you bit his shoulder and whining like a toddler even though it did not hurt at all and you didn’t leave any sort of mark whatsoever.

- ^ drops the act completely when you tell him it was out of love

- now every time you do it he thinks you’re trying to flirt with him 🤞😔 and I mean I guess he’s sort of-ish right

- honestly he doesn’t really care but definitely teases you about it /ns

Can I just say, I love rottmnt artists who:

Draw the bois with tails

Draw Raph with birthmarks or scars of some kind

Give Mikey an unlimited supply of spots

Give Leo and/or Donnie heterochromia (two different eye colours)

Draw Donnie with his glasses… or any boi really, now that I think about it. I’ve seen comics of Leo putting on glasses and realizing he can see better and I love those! And of course, we all adore Mikey with his heart shades!!

Draw the bois dealing with autism or ADHD traits or some other

Draw the bois dealing with their injuries (Raph with an eyepatch, Leo with crutches, etc.)

Draw the whole fam happy. Because they deserve to be happy.

Draw the fam with soul-crushing angst. Because they do not deserve to hurt but let’s see how they deal with it, shall we?

Draw bad timeline future stuffs, be it shenanigans or death scenes. Because it’s interesting to speculate what happened…

ROTTMNT With a Witch! S/o

Just a quick reminder that requests are open!

Leonardo:

- we all know that Leo is a magic nerd, though he may have a slight preference for stage magic over the actual, less show-y magick.

-i feel like Leo would love to have a witch as a partner, and would probably get into some basic, low energy types of spells as a result. He would be your biggest fan, and would want to help with most of your spells.

-he will be devastated if you say no, but sometimes it's just easier without this tease-prone ball of energy inside of the circle, you know?

-will BEG for you to do spells for him!! even for the smallest issue, he would be kneeling at your feet giving them the biggest puppy eyes with a matching pout.

-i can see him getting into glamour magick as a primary form of magick for him.

-all the magick-themed pick up lines. anytime you do anything he just tells you how you've enchanted him and how he's completely under your spell, how he's convinced that he must have drank a love potion, etc.

Donatello:

-not a fan for a good long while. will go on about his "science is fa superior to your little dumdum magic!!" until you hit him with the "magick's success and cause and effect has stood the test of time, people would not use it if it did not work. and btw magick is just science that we don't yet have the technology to understand."

-after that he would be like "okay challenge accepted!" and would probably conduct a ton of experiments on the movement and manipulation of subtle energies, and how the placebo affect effects spellwork, etc.

-i feel like he wouldn't participate in any spellwork outside of his experiments, at least not until he got his ninpo, at which point he would do a ton of studying about the occult.

-he'll warm up to it eventually, but i don't think it would ever be something that he ever really found a passion in.

-i could see him combine some of his chemistry knowledge with your occult knowledge to help you with potions though!

-he might like tech magick, or adding spells/sigils in with his tech, but i don't think you'd ever find him doing any more than that unless you get him to.

Michaelangelo:

-IS ENTRANCED

-loves magick, loves mystics, loves you

-would take any and every oppurtunity to engage with/ help with your magick! He wants you to teach him everything you know, and I feel like he would learn a whole lot on his own, and the two of you would just bounce ideas off of each other.

-we all know that Mikey becomes a super powerful mystic, so with you by his side?? power couple!! (everyone is afraid of the two of you.)

Raphael:

-supportive but does not understand. like at all.

-will bring you every crystal he sees, every rock, every branch, every flower, and (if you're a vulture culture kinda witch) every bone.

-he likes to watch you do magick if you're comfortable with it, but wouldn't dare try to participate in the spell. he's just a big ol' fanboy.

-i feel like he would love protection magic, it's very important as someone with a job as dangerous as his. if you were to make him some kind of protection amulet, he would probably cry. He's the oldest, he's used to having to protect everyone else, he's not used to anyone trying to protect him. He would never take it off, and if it ever did it's job as much as it could, and finally broke, he would cry, please make him another.

-he would probably crochet some blank poppets for you, that could easily be customized.

April:

-SO FUCKIN INTO IT

-(please help her make fun and flashy assignments that won't backfire like Donnie's tech does!)

-I think she would love to help out in your spells as much as you'll let her, but knows better than to overstep. This is your thing, she understands that you're the boss when it comes to mystic stuff, and just enjoys being along for the ride.

-would pay you to do spells for her, she isn't a fuckin freeloader (like LEO), she knows that it's a craft, and that the hard work you do deserves to be compensated, and if you don't let her paay you for spells because you love her, then she'll just insist on paying for your next date, or buying you that trinket you've had your eye on for a while. you can't stop her.

Cassandra:

-she only cares if you can do spells to help her conquer the world (and if you can hex her enemies c:<)

-no but forreal i think she would love to have a witch lover, and would want to participate, she'd be the BEST at raising energy for spellwork and ritual!

-i think she'd actually make a super powerful practitioner once she learned how to direct her energy

-she would 100% collect bones, so if you're the type of witch to like that, then she may just give you a few from her collection.

-bitch would SLAY at baneful magick

Casey Jr.:

-an alt boy and his witchy partner, is there a better combo than that?

-seriously though, I feel like he would love to just sit around while you were doing magick, he likes to watch, and likes it even more if you teach him anything.

-i feel like he would really only ever use magick for others though. Like if he was struggling, the thought of doing a spell to help himself doesn't even cross his mind, but one of his friends or family members has even the slightest issues and he's jumping for his athame (he would def mainly use an athame, a pretty basic and minimalistic one though).

-another one who just brings you anything he can find that's even slightly related to your craft, and brags about how amazing you are to everyone, all the time.

-please teach him how to use tarot, he wants to commune with the spirits. he'll be responsible, he swears c:
