Im interested on the topic of wether if psychology can beat people who are basically daematis. Let's just say considering how the people who are daematies have a bigger advantage when it comes to reading and perceiving people so let's give the people who are knowledgable in psychology a magical power where their mind cannot be entered. Basically protected. It heavily depends on the daemati, if the person who can read mind depends on their ability too much they'll get anxiety basocally overthinking like Rhysand in the "But home is nowhere" fanfiction. Also considering how daemati can be old like 300+ years old like that, they probably have experience.
It also depends on the people who know psychology, let's just say they have mastered it. The dark side and bright side of psychology too.
Who would win?
This is a very interesting take. If I'm understanding the question correctly, you are curious if an individual from a world similar to ours (as in no magic exists) that has an understanding/mastery of psychological theory (with or without a neurological understanding of the how the brain works) and/or implementation of various modalities for treatment (either from being in therapy or is a therapist), would withstand and prevent a highly skilled, experienced, and powerful Daemati from entering their mind.
This is going to be a multi layered answer as I think there are many aspects that differ between species and also from individual to individual.
My initial belief for humans from a world without magic or magical abilities, would be no. They could not initially know how to block out a Daemati from entering their mind. What they could do, especially if they have any experience with CBT, DBT, or EMDR modalities is be able to combat against any false memories or attempts to manipulate their understanding of the world around them. They are able to do this without having to be taught. They may even be able to fight against any attempts for the Daemati to physically control them. In these instances, a Daemati could still root around for information inside the individual's mind and even speak into their mind but would have a significantly more difficult time trying to manipulate them on a psychological and occasionally physical level.
These same humans would also have an advantage over other humans in being able to learn the ability of building a mental shield and eventually being able to keep a Daemati from entering their mind altogether.
For humans that come from a world where magic and telepathic ability exist, they would have an advantage over non-magic world humans. I even think that it would be part of their academic programs to build up mental shields so they could treat a wider range of patients.
When it comes to High Fae (either full blooded or a hybrid to any degree) or a Shifter Fae, it is more likely they already have built those mental shields. "Lesser" Fae may have struggles more in line with humans, depending on their species.
Overall, I do think that it is possible that an individual can gain the skills/ability to create mental shields that block Daemati, and that having an understanding of psychology would give an advantage to learning that skill.
For Reader in "But Home is Nowhere" this is not the case of why/how Rhysand, Feyre, and Ruhn (even though his ability is limited) are completely locked out of her mind. I have a different reason that is part of a much larger picture and plot point for the story I want to tell.
This was a very cool question! Keep sending them in as I love sharing ideas.

“Gwynriel’s only use the bonus chapter as evidence. That’s all they have.”
Even without the bonus chapter people shipped Gwyn and Azriel. Some people didn’t even know that chapter existed and still shipped those two. People picked up on their chemistry.
“You’re the new ribbon, Az.” Was enough for me and others. “See you tomorrow, Shadowsinger.” Was also enough for me and others.
“He doesn’t consider her a friend.” The majority of mated couples did not start off as friends or liked each other. Best example of this would be Rowan & Aelin. (except maybe Lysaedion & RuhnLidia, but even those couples had tension and very rough patches) And there was a ‘but’ which leaves potential for something. We get to see them develop a healthy friendship on page where we can actually read it. That’s what us Gwynriel’s want. Not an off page romance like certain shippers.
they sure love to erase the bonus chapter when it benefits them, yet they also claim it sets up their ship's "forbidden romance", so which is it? any stray e/riels please feel free to send me a message and try to explain this without looking like a whiny hypocrite. i'll wait <3
fact of the matter is that sjm herself said the bonus chapter holds some significance, she said she scattered all the crumbs and she wanted to hear her friend steph's theories after reading it. sounds pretty important to me!
but yes, as you pointed out many gwynriels shipped them without the bonus chapter, myself included! i was on board as soon as she tossed that "see you tomorrow, shadowsinger" over her shoulder. like it was over, i was in love right then and there. that's the kinda spunk and sass az needs in his life. because unlike e/riels, we don't have to cling solely to that chapter or glances and finger touches. we have banter, sjm's absolute favorite thing in the world and something she's said is indicative of her endgames
az wouldn't consider gwyn a friend yet he joked with her, finds her irreverence charming, believes in her, encourages her, admires her and had to erase his own smile at the thought of her happiness. good thing sjm doesn't write off page romances or i'd be scared, much like e/riels are i'm sure. they're kinda cute when they're panicking. you know the saying if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck? yeah gwynriel is a duck in the sjmverse. if you actually put aside your e/riel tinted glasses and look, the mateism is there. it's off the charts actually!

if ur gonna follow or interact with my blog pls realize I am very critical towards most acotar content, especially if it involves Rhysand. I am more-or-less a Rhys Anti until further notice and I am hard-core side eye towards Cassian. I'm not a Tamlin Stan, nor do I particularly care for him, but I have been engaging in thoughtful criticisms of his actions often which involves character analysis so you v likely will see that pop up every now and then
likely you will find:
anti Rhys
maybe anti feyre or critical feyre content, maybe pro feyre
anti cassian
anti or critical mor
anti amren
pro lucien
pro Nesta
some pro elain, some anti elain
maybe critical Azriel; I'm mostly neutral towards him
tamlin/feylin content [first book]
character analysis' often with a critical lense
if yall do not like that that maybe don't interact with my blog if it will disrupt ur peace
I'm always willing to talk about why I feel certain ways about certain characters, even if u are a stan of a character I dislike as long as ur respectful

PEOPLE OF EVERYONE (who like the sjmverse) I HAVE A THEORY!!!!
So I was watching different theory videos on TikTok, and came across THIS ONE HERE (press the red bold words).
And it makes sense, except I'd like to tweak it just a little.
For those who did not click the link to go to the TikTok video, or do not want to, let me summarize the theory in the video.
Erewan stole the King of Adarlans name. How? Possibly some Valg King powers. But he did. He also has two brothers.
Maeve had the ability to world walk, you know, before Dorian took it away.
So what if, Erewan, and his two brothers also had the world walking ability, and the two brothers went to different worlds. What if they too also stole names?
Whose nameless, who would they steal names from?
King of Hybern has no name given too him.
But then there's a character in Crescent City, who still has a name, but rarely is it used. Perhaps the Autumn King is in the process of having his name stolen.
I obviously paraphrased, but that basically what the video says.
Now, as I said above, I would like to tweak it a little, because while I can get behind the King of Hybern, it's harder to believe the Autumn King, just because he does still have a name right?
Also because there is another character who has remained nameless, and only referred to by their title, which has endlessly annoyed, to infuriated fans.
Sarah doesn't do coincidences. What if this character is only referred to by her title, because they literally cannot be called by their name anymore?
I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's jump back a little bit and set my theory tweak up some more okay?
In Throne of Glass, we all(or at least I) thought it was the King of Adarlan who was possessed by Erewan. Only to get to the twist later, finding out it was Lord Perrington.
This in itself shows that you do not have to be the one possessed by the Valg King, to have your name stolen.
Back to where I was.
So there is one character, living with someone so cruel. Could this third Valg King prefer to have her suffer? Could he have stolen this characters name, with no ring or collar to plant a lower Valg.
Does he do all he does, to this character, purely to be cruel, because that's how he is?
I should probably mention that the nameless character I am talking about is... actually, let me wait just a little longer, make sure I've really laid the ground work for it to be more believable.
This character possibly possessed by the third Valg King, have we seen how, or who they truly are? Perhaps not.
This character is still needlessly cruel, and not just to the nameless character. But their children as well.
Have you guessed the possessed character, and by extension, the character whose name they stole, yet?
When it came time to bring Feyre back to life.. oh yeah! This character is also in ACOTAR world. But when bringing Feyre, and then Rhys back to life, yes this character possessed by the Valg King did so, perhaps to conceal the possession.
Perrington did well to hide the fact that he was possessed, but still did things to make people actively dislike him at the same time. So would it not make sense for this character to also do the same?
Brutally murdering his one son's first love, forcing him to watch.
Seemingly torturing his other son, for any reason.
Doing who knows what to make his other sons become so needlessly cruel as well.
Doing unthinkable things to his wife, for what reason?
Could Beron be possessed by a Valg King? And if so, did he steal the Lady of Autumns name?
If you think about it, even Helion does not speak her name, when telling the story of his past with her. And a man who loves someone so much? Should that not have been the moment we learned her name if we had not yet?
Perhaps Helion physically could not speak her name.
The question though, would Beron have been possessed Before marrying LoA, or After. My guess is before. The Valg King within, perhaps seeing the dear Lady as his possession, and then learning of this affair of Helion, could this be why he stole her name? So the male who truly loves her cannot even speak her name?
I don't know, I've gotten ahead of myself.
Basically I'm saying, Sarah doesn't do coincidences. If the Lady of Autumn still had a name, we would know it by now. Was her name stolen from her?

So what I've noticed: Lucien fans are generally Eris fans like me. Opinions on Nesta trend towards the positive side; no anti-Nestas, although there are a few neutrals Everyone loves the Valkyries Happy to see most Lucien fans believe in elucien; at this point, the only person for Lucien is his mate. Opinions on Inner Circle trend towards the negative side; a few positives, some neutrals, and quite a few negatives. Also glad to see there aren't so many Azriel simps on the Lucien side of the fandom bc after Az spoke about Lucien in that bonus chapter? YUCK. Saw a couple of Mor fans as well. Loving the people who believe in Vanserra supremacy. As for Tamlin, most Lucien fans are neutral but wish for a Tamlin redemption arc/healing arc, which is fair. Most Lucien fans who have read TOG also love Fenrys. They love Dorian and have generally positive opinions on Chaol (nice). There are many Lucien fans who are also Lorcan fans and makes sense cuz same. They tend to love Manon as well; I personally was neutral on her but not anti. Most Lucien fans are chill with Rowaelin but they're not the biggest fans (kind of like me). Most people like Tower of Dawn but some people haven't read it. If you haven't read ToD, PLEASE read it! Not only does it have crucial information but it's also overall a really good book. One of my favs in the series actually. Opinions on Aedion VASTLY vary. Personally I just found him annoying. Most Lucien fans find ToG better than ACOTAR, and same, even though Lucien is my number 1 character in the SJMverse TOG is just far better written IMO. But some of the characters in ACOTAR are so good; I think somebody mentioned this. But there are so many horrible characters in ACOTAR imo as well which cancels it out. Quite a few Lucien fans also found Ruhn to be their fav character in CC (same). Opinions on Lidia vary, although most people love the idea of ruhnlidia. Opinions on quinlar are also highly variable. Some people liked the frat boys but a surprisingly high number of people thought they were annoying (I like them as a group even tho they're frat boys, oops). I honestly found them better than the bat boys but that's just my opinion. Anyway, my order is Cadre>>>>>>>>>>>frat boys>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>bat boys
Help me analyze Lulu lovers
Is Lucien Vanserra your #1 favorite character in ACOTAR? If yes, then… Do you ALSO gravitate to Eris Vanserra? If yes, then… Are you ALSO a Nesta apologist? If yes, then… Do you love the Valkyries? If yes, then… Are you an elucien truther? If yes, then…
Are you Pro-Ic, Anti-Ic, or neutral? Like or dislike Azriel (AS written, not fanon)? Is there one particular member of the IC you like or do you simply believe in Vanserra supremacy? Are you Pro-Tamlin, Anti-Tamlin, or neutral? Have you read TOG? If yes, then… Do you like Fenrys? If yes, then… Do you like Dorian? If yes, then… Do you like Chaol? If yes, then… Do you like Lorcan? If yes, then… Do you like Manon? If yes, then…
What is your opinion on Rowaelin? What about Tower of Dawn? Pro or anti Aedion? Did you find TOG better or ACOTAR? Have you read CC? If yes, then… Is Ruhn Danaan your favorite character? If yes, then… Do you like Lidia Cervos? If yes, then… Do you like quinlar? If yes, then… What about the frat boys? Yah or nah? What is your opinion on Bryce ending up in Prythian? Do you want a full on crossover in CC3 or just Bryce surviving in Prythian alone for a little while? Last question: rank the following from your favorite to least favorite: frat boys, bat boys, cadre If you’re a Lucien fan, please reply or reblog with your answers! I’m trying to find the pattern between all Lucien fans lol; I’ll explain more later.

Okay, buckle in because I have an SJMverse theory connecting all three of her series and what comes next.
I’m re-reading A Court of Silver Flames and I get to the scene where Nesta accidentally scrys during Gwyn’s singing and projects her mind to the chamber under the mountain prison where she finds the harp at the center of an ancient chamber that has wards (wyrd markings) and eight pointed star at the center, right under the harp. Time does not exist in this chamber. When Nesta asks about the star, Cassian says it might be part of the night court and then he says that Rhys mentioned once that it “might have even been an eighth court”. Nesta’s inner monologue makes it clear that she doesn’t believe it’s the night court because the magic feels different than night court magic. It would also make sense to have another court. We have four seasonal courts (spring, summer, autumn, and winter) and three celestial courts (day, dawn, and night). My theory is that there is a fourth celestial court that has to do with stars, just like the night court. But that comes later. At the center of this chamber guarded against time is an eight pointed star. You know where else we’ve seen an eight pointed star? When Bryce Quinlan from Crescent City does the drop, she’s left with an eight pointed star on her chest, the mark of the starborn fae. This makes me think that the “eighth court” are the starborn fae that were transported to Midgard and possibly another celestial court, like night, day, and dawn. Something to do with stars, so maybe a dusk court. Or…..The Twilight Court. Because twilight is the light from the sky between full night and sunrise or between sunset and full night. So between night court and dawn/day court. And you know what Sarah J Maas has on her goodreads page? A book that’s set to come out called..wait for it…….Twilight of the Gods. We have Twilight but where do the Gods come in? Are these the God’s Aelin banished in Kingdom of Ash? I firmly believe that the “Gods” represent the three leading SJM women. Sun, Night, and Stars. Aelin, Feyre, and Bryce.
Aelin Galathynius- Queen of Terrasen, representing the sun. Heir to Mala Firebringer, the sun Goddess of Erliea.
Feyre Archeron- High Lady of the Night Court, representing the moon. There’s many parallels drawn between her and Deanna, the goddess of the moon and sister of Mala Firebringer. Feyre’s abilities revolve around shadow and darkness and she wields a bow and arrow, like Artemis (basis for Deanna) from Bryce’s world as well but there she’s named Luna.
Bryce Quinlan- Starborn princess of the fae. Has abilities of starlight and the most powerful starborn fae in existence. She could be considered a god in her own right.
Three of them represent the God’s of celestial proportions. I have a feeling that Crescent City 3 will set up the ultimate plot and battle and culmination of all of SJM’s books in this book Twilight of the Gods. An Avengers: Endgame type of battle. Somehow, each of the major villains (the gods, the asteri, Hybern, the demon princes, Maeve, the prison under the mountain) from all the books are connected in some way and Twilight of the Gods will be the ultimate crossover between all three worlds and have Aelin, Feyre, and Bryce fighting together. Maybe even combining their magic. What makes me think this even more is the title. Twilight of the Gods. You Google it and the first thing that comes up is a reference to Norse Mytholoy and Ragnorak and “a series of major events foretold to result in the death of a number of gods”. Bryce lives somewhere named Midgard, also from Norse mythology. The God’s being killed are the gods Aelin banished and maybe the asteri. Maybe they’re even the same. I may sound like a lunatic but I think it’s a solid theory? Any thoughts lol?
Oh and I think the third Crescent City book will be called House of Flame and Shadow because not only is that one of the houses in Crescent City, it’s also two words used in one of the Throne of Glass books to describe Aelin. I forget which one and the passage but I know she’s referenced as flames and shadow. Flames because of her magic and shadow for her being an assassin.

I just realized… do TOG characters not have middle names?
Aelin Ashryver Galathynius (despite Google saying her middle name is Ashryver I disagree, it’s her mothers maiden name and more of a hyphen) and I really think if she had one she would’ve said it in the whole “I am Aelin Ashryver Whitethorn Galathynius” moments
Rowan Whitethorn (Galathynius later on is again a hyphen)
Manon Blackbeak (is Rhiannon part of her name?)
Lorcan Salvaterre (Lord Lorcan Lochan tragically does not make his first name Lord and middle name Lorcan)
Yrene Towers (plenty of opportunity for her to mention it if she had one)
Elide Lochan
As I think on it do ACOTAR characters even? Feyre Nesta & Elain Archeron, we don’t even have last names for the bat boys…
But we know CC does (which makes sense it’s more modern urban) like Bruce Adelaide Quinlan

My brain at 3am: Maybe the true answer for peace in the the Elucien/Elriel (Gwynriel, etc.) debate is actually that neither has been given a direct answer. Or a fair shot, or time to develop, esp. with a main characters perspective.
Maybe there’s supposed to be merit within both and interpretations for the viewer to hold onto while we wait.
…Kinda keeps fandoms alive sometimes…

So, Gavriel has healing magic right? … I was trying to figure this out and stumbled on a read-it thread about how he must, because he was able to keep Rowan Down without hurting him (or getting hurt) during the Mistward fight in HoF and now I’m very curious how that works esp. as the “healing/water” magic equasion is still a little lost on me … regardless interesting as a thought!

Everything I know heading into Crescent City for the first time (as soon as I hit post): starting with the obvious it’s called Crescent City😂 and written by Sarah J. Maas (and will be my last “unread” series of hers thus far).
The books are very large, and have many cover renditions changing up the color combos, and theories I have based on the fact one has wolves and another has a girl with a lock heart… the latter feels Throne of Glass reference to me, the former to it giving werewolf vibes (which I think some characters are?) though I believe most are Demi-fae
The main characters name is Bryce Adelaide Quinlan, she’s something starry, wine-red hair (same as Ansel), and great representation. She seems to be someone I will love! With some great quotes!
Danika has cool hair, seems like my vibe, will probably love her… I think she’s a main friendship in the books? But I also know there’s a murder so idk.
Lidia Cervos has great fan art (and some ship that looks like day and night) and I have a feeling she might be a favorite for me, plus she’s listed as a Throne of Glass character (though I don’t recognize the name; could be a fandom wiki error) but I have hope as there is crossover between ACOTAR & maybe TOG (I don’t know for sure on that one; I just have hope).
There’s a cute dog/lion/wing (maybe Chimera?) thing/pet/creature and I already love it.
Some guy named Hunt is supposed to be a hunk (yes I said it that way mostly for names sake😂)
There’s good star lines… like literally just talking about quotes about stars!!! A Maasverse classic!
Crossover with ACOTAR???
Who knows… I don’t want to… but I shall find out!
Crescent City Chapter 1 HERE I COME!!!

EOS Chapter 56:
spoilers for the chapter beyond this line
— “That was nothing--nothing--compared to the power that now roared into the world.”
— Elide staggering one step forward just like Aelin in Rifthold; I’m a sucker for these reunions🥹😭 (I need them to meet already but alas I must be responsible and sleep😅😂)
— NO THE WRONG SIDE OF THE LINE NO NO NO
— “And that power ... that power Aelin was now dragging up from whatever hellhole was inside her, from whatever fiery pit she'd been damned to endure ... Its wake would wash over them.” — like Brannon said it takes a toll on them all, she has to live with that (isn’t that enough?) — she is burned for her court (give her some credit y’all)
— LORCAN PROTECTING ELIDE😭😭😭
— “Whitethorn knew--even at Mistward--that the queen hadn't yet stepped into her birthright. Knew that this sort of power came around once in an eon, and to serve it, to serve her ... A court that wouldn't just change the world. It would start the world over. A court that could conquer this world--and any other it wished. If it wished. If that woman on the plain desired to. And that was the question, wasn't it? "Lorcan," Elide whispered, her voice breaking in longing for the queen, or terror of her, he didn't know.” — so much was just said at once
— THE QUEEN OF TERRASEN
— “Aelin was no savior to rally behind, but a cataclysm to be weathered.” — and then there’s Rowan who is literal weather😂 (honestly it’s perfect though)
— “The ilken still held out, as if they were a stain of darkness, harder to wash away. Still Aelin kept burning. Aedion couldn't even see her in the heart of that power. There was a cost--there had to be a cost to such power. She had been born knowing the weight of her crown, her magic. Had felt its isolation long before she'd reached adolescence. And that seemed like punishment enough, but... there had to be a price. Nameless is my price. That was what the witch had said. Understanding glimmered at the edge of Aedion's mind, just out of grasp. He fired his second-to-last arrow, straight between the eyes of a frantic ilken.” — WHAT DOES IT MEAN (just say it already😅 like Rowan just call her your mate while we’re at it with needed conversations) the terrible price of this power terrifies me… I don’t know what nameless is… I don’t think I want to… but I think she does and that scares me even more — AND this is her WITHOUT the key
— THE KING AND QUEEN WITH CROWNS OF FIRE
— “He knew Whitethorn. He knew the prince wasn't ambitious--not in the way that immortals could be. He likely would have loved the woman if she'd been ordinary. But this power ... In his wasteland of a soul, Lorcan felt that tug. Hated it. It was why Whitethorn had strode to her--why Fenrys was now halfway across the plain, dazed, attention wholly fixed on where they stood, tangled in each other.” — idk Fenrys might be going after something else and you better hope it’s not you bruh (but again good to know about fae) — I do appreciate him saying he would’ve loved her anyway though (and also lol Lorcan what a fast turn of opinions😅😂) also though sounds kind of Valg like if you ask me and I don’t fully trust Maeve still
— “Given the heat with which the queen was kissing her prince, he wasn't entirely sure what to tell Elide.” -Cackling😂
— DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON LORCAN GIVING ELIDE A RING—NOT JUST ANY RING BUT THE RING—AND ALSO OF ALL THINGS A RING
— I love how Rowan just runs into her storm🥹🥰❤️🔥
— Really hoping Aelin is uimmune to Valg collars and Wyrd rings😅😅😬🫥
— was she drained of power though? Did he know? IDK ANYMORE — but he does keep her safe and I love that🥺
— dude they so will attack you (wait ow does he not know about Maeve’s execution “dispatch”?!)
NEXT IS HOPEFULLY ELIDE & AELIN MEETING… AGAIN I GUESS?

Im curious how do faeries ages? Do they age faster? Or do they live for 500 years and is 500 years old?
Hello!
In the world of ACOTAR, it hasn't really been addressed very well (SJM why must you leave us with so many basic questions about your world building). We know that Alis' nephews are approximately 70-80 years old, but they still appear as if they are between 8-12 years old (at least that is how I pictured the descriptions). Alis is only one species of Lesser Fae.
With High Fae and other Lesser Fae species (particularly Illyrians), we don't have any real solid canon evidence of their aging process. So, I have just assumed that they age in the same way that humans do, but then it slows down once they reach 20-25 or so. (Though I personally have always pictured those that are 500+ as having the appearance of being in their 30s and not their 20s like so many other fans seem to picture them as. This was even before HOFAS when we learn that the Autumn King is just under 500 years old and barely looks like he's 30, per Ember's indication that he has aged in appearance since she had met him in her bonus chapter.) In ACOTAR it is completely unknown exactly how long the Fae can live as Rhysand's Father was over 900 when he was mated to Rhysand's mother (who was like 18-19 BTW). And he was killed well before he even started to show any signs of "fading" away/dying from old age.
I think this is the same process of what happens for Fae in Throne of Glass (but I have to re-read that to be certain). They reach a specific age and then they just stop aging and eventually "fade" away. Rowan's parents did so when they were well over 1500 years old.
In Crescent City all Vanir (including the Fae) age the same as normal mortals until they make the Drop and then their aging stops or significantly slows down. I think the longest they had on record for the Fae was around 1000. (Please someone correct me if I am wrong). It may even be an unknown age, but most end up dying for some other reason well before they would die from old age.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on how the Fae age in SJMverse material. It is what I have based Nyx' aging on in my fic, so he is aging the same as a typical mortal right now but will stop aging when he's approximately 25.
(Aging in series by other Authors and traditional folklore is an entirely different conversation).
