TF2 x Poker Night Headcanons
Support Class
YOU KNOW THE DRILL ‼️‼️‼️ WE’RE TALKING ABOUT POKER NIGHT AT THE INVENTORY!! We’re talking, Sniper, Spy and Medic this time!!
Spy
For Night 1, I can’t see Spy getting along with anyone particularly. Maybe Tycho for a period but again he says some… things that would put him off. This is excluding Heavy ofc. Night one he would be the definition of ‘thank god i’m the only normal person here’.
For night 2, Brock and Ash Williams. Claptrap would be like Scout to him. He’d have to warm up to his person before he’d start liking them. Probably gets half-along with Glados on account of she’s pretty chill. Brock because he comes across as a private man much like himself. Ash because he’s a very capable man but appears pretty inexperienced (he would like taunting him). The three of them would have ‘smart guy’ conversations.
I already mentioned Glados. He would like her quips except when they’re directed at him. He would still respect the wit though
Pleasant conversations with Reginald. You kind of have to be on good terms with the Host. Also Reginald seems to have some common sense to him… unlike everyone else in Night 1…
Sniper
Same as Spy I feel like. He’d just be kind of. Chill with everyone? In a very neutral way? Probably Tycho…? But in a ‘you’re kinda like Scout’ way (which is an insulting comparison to make but I think it’s fair). Maybe he’d be on good terms with Moxxi because he’s quiet at the bar and also wrangles demo when he needs to.
Night Two, hmmm Brock? And Sam? This one is also partially difficult. Sam sort of professionally - or as professional as Sam can be - and then Brock for the same kind of efficiency when you kill mindset. This is going off how Brock presents himself in game because in the series he’s from he’s very messy when he kills lowkey.
Glados would freak him out too… I think it would take him a long long time to get used to her, and even then he’d jump the most when she’d appear. Same as Scout, really.
Gets along with Reginald Van Winslow as much as one does when you barely talk.
Medic
Anyone who’s scientifically interesting to him. Night one would be Max - ‘Oh my gott, talking rabbit!’ - and probably Strong Bad - ‘your boxing gloves are infused to your skin…’.
Similar to Heavy Night one, kinda freaks everyone out. Yknow with Heavy being ‘wrench is shoved down his throat! He cries for mommy,’ and Medic being ‘haha! And that’s how I lost my medical license!’
Night 2, Sam for the same reasons as Max and also Ash for the arm. Probably has very pleasant conversations with Winslow.
Medic would… I guess he’d be pretty neutral with Glados? Positively neutral if that makes sense. He’d like when she pulls up psychology related things like the whole ‘people with a bad conscience react worse to loud noises’ thing.
Like I said, probably has pleasant conversations with Winslow. Probably talks black market with him and ‘back channels’ yknow. Otherwise, Winslow would be a ‘do not involve me in your medicine…’
#tf2 sniper#tf2 spy#tf2 medic#team fortress 2#tf2 headcanons#poker night at the inventory#poker night 2#i realised after this entire series that I haven’t been putting pictures of the mercs between things 😞#sorry guys i’m bad at running this blog#enjoy another load of niche content

DOG POLICE
An crossover show idea i did a while back
The shows like a mix between scooby doo and sam and max, about an independent freelance dog police force who deal with more outlandish and dangerous criminals in the city.
the character bios Dog police bios by dragonboy
Clifford: The head of the force. Tall, strong and imposing, yet a bit airheaded with a kind heart. Cares for the team like a family.
Martha: The team's communications officer and second-in-command, fluent in over a dozen languages. Firm yet caring. Isn't afraid to speak her mind. She makes sure everyone stays focused and not get into too much shenanigans.
Chase: An accomplished police puppy from Toronto, Canada. Leader of the world-famous Paw Patrol rescue team, working with the Dog Police is his "side project". Treats it with the same dedication as his main profession. Often accompanies Bluey and Rockruff so they stay out of trouble
Bluey: A puppy from Brisbane, Australia, and the youngest member of the Dog Police. Kind, innocent and playful. Loves thinking of inventive ways to solve a crime, especially if it can be made into a game. The team needs to be extra careful with her if things get dangerous.
Zoe: Expert detective with a sassy streak. Mastermind at figuring out mysteries and whodunits. Very fashion-concious. Don't mess with her hair!
Snoopy: A dog of little words, but one with a brilliant and analytic mind. Writer in his down-time. Always has his nose in a true crime book.
Aleu: A wolf-dog from Alaska. Zoe's best friend. One of the most hands-on members of the force. Not afraid to get her paws dirty. Ready for a fight even before she knows who shes fighting, though sometimes this approach gets her into trouble.
Courage: Ironically, a big coward, but a lovable one at that. Acts as the team's psychogical consultant. Trying to get over his phobias of a myriad of things. Skilled in cimputer tech and works with Dawkins to locate criminals
Elsa: The team's medic. Often seen training new recruits. Will always help out a fellow teammate or anyone injured at a crime scene. Can be egotistical at times, especially loves playing the leader when Martha or Clifford isn’t around, but always means well.
Dawkins: A Dalmatian from London, England, and just one member of a large family. The team's chief scientific advisor and tech support. Filled with knowledge despite his young age. Hes made several useful gadgets for the team at their disposal
Brian: an average joe-turned-sniffer dog from Quahog, Rhode Island. A ladies' man with a great singing voice and an expansive drinks cabinet. Can sniff out any form of contraband from blocks away. He does get annoyed with some of his teams dumb antics but does get along well with the others
Rockruff: The second-youngest of the team. A fireball of energy who brings a chaotic, upbeat energy to the team. Snarky at times, but in good means and being playful. Though he always has the feeling he's being controlled by someone.

((My head cannon for Sam and Max, is that their descendants of half world experiments that were jettisoned into space after they were deemed failures and landed on Earth, a few generations later Sam and Max were born and all the wacky shenanigans that followed the games and show were a result. From stopping a overthrow of hell to, pounding random street thug senseless. Loving each other in a way only two Anthropomorphic Talking Animal Freaks of Nature on the DSM could.
Also my head Cannon for The Geek is that Sam and Max adopted her after her family disowned her for being Transgender. Acting as Pseudo dysfunctional father figures and supporting her Scientific endeavors.)

Curiosity Weekly Podcast: Science The Way You Like It

Discovery Channel, known as The Discovery Channel from 1985 to 1995, and often referred to as simply Discovery, is an American cable channel that used to be known for documentary television programming focused primarily on popular science, technology, and history. Over the years, it has been transformed into a schedule of reality television shows, promotion of pseudoscience, and conspiracy theories. On Discovery, there are people apparently running around naked in the woods and other people searching for gold. The cable channel should merge those shows into one where naked people search for gold. That's why I was worried when one of the board members of Ear Worthy recommended Curiosity Weekly. However, after listening to several episodes, I can safely say: "No cause for alarm. Apparently, Warner Discovery CEO David Zaslov, destroyer of quality content, either doesn't know this podcast is on or doesn't care."
Here's the show's marketing pitch: "Once a week, we'll bring you the latest and greatest in scientific discoveries."
That was an encouraging start and, for the most part, they live up to that promise.
Discovery continues: "Welcome to Curiosity Weekly from Discovery, hosted by Dr. Samantha Yammine. Once a week, we’ll bring you the latest and greatest in scientific discoveries and break down the details so that you don’t need a PhD to understand it. From neuroscience to climate tech to AI and genetics, no subject is off-limits. Join Sam as she interviews expert guests and investigates the research guiding some of the most exciting scientific breakthroughs affecting our world today."

The host, Dr. Samantha Yammine, PhD is a Neuroscientist turned Science Communicator, also known as Science Sam. Through social media, TV screens and keynote stages, she has built an engaged community encouraging people to explore science by making it more accessible, inclusive and fun. As a host, Dr. Yammine does an excellent job. She's engaged, witty, informative, and inclusive.
What's on the show? What's the format? Let's discuss.
The format includes three topics each episode. On the latest February 18th show, watch how Discovery tied content on their MAX streaming service to the podcast.
"The White Lotus is about to be back on our screens on Max, so today, we’re diving into the latest trend among elite travelers: longevity tourism. Then, our host Sam speaks to Dr. Jodi Halpern about the mental health effects that come along with the rise of AI technology. And finally, we explore the ins and outs of fracking."
Since its new format in January, listeners like myself have learned about Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria found on ISS mutating to become functionally distinct. In one of my favorite segments, left-handed musicians, appear to develop unique brain pathways for language processing. (I knew we were special, and not just because our handwriting sucks.) There was a timely episode on the FDA banning red dye No. 3 from foods, nearly 35 years after it was barred from cosmetics because of potential cancer risk. Then, the show explored the benefits of Emotional Support Animals (ESAs), which is a controversial topic.
There are several science podcasts we can also recommend. Big Picture Science. It's a terrific podcast that exposes junk science, highlights new scientific discoveries, and finds the science in everyday life. Big Picture Science is produced at the SETI Institute’s radio studio in Mountain View, California. Short Wave is a National Public Radio (NPR) podcast that gives us a sneak peek behind the science headlines — all in about 10 minutes, every weekday. It's science for everyone, using a lot of creativity and a little humor. If you are a physics nerd, then tryWhy This Universe -- The biggest ideas in physics, broken down. Join theoretical physicist Dan Hooper and co-host Shalma Wegsman as they answer your questions about dark matter, black holes, quantum mechanics, and more.
If you're interested in real science, then check out Curiosity Weekly.

Not now!!
Rationality is the ability to think, reason, and make decisions based on logic and evidence. It's considered a powerful force in enlightenment as it encourages critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and the pursuit of knowledge. Embracing rationality promotes understanding and challenges unfounded beliefs, contributing to progress and a more informed society.

Fuyuki assumes that Sam & Max are aliens. Sam clarifies that he was definitely born on earth but pointedly leaves Max out of it and Max goes I’M A SCIENTIFIC ODDITY! BIOLOGISTS ARE STILL TRYING TO FIGURE ME OUT! CUT ME OPEN AND SEE FOR YOURSELF KID! I haven’t seen fuyuki recently enough to know for sure if his reaction to the idea of performing a vivisection would be getting squeamish and backing off or going OH BOY!!! and having to be dragged off by natsumi though
things that might happen in a sam and max/sgt frog crossover
they immediately get into a firefight with giroro. max either blows him up with his own weapons or just bites him
aki comes home and either immediately kicks them out for being animals or latches onto max and starts going on about how she should design a character based on him. max says something about her being a milf and gets a “shut up max you dont even like girls”
it turns out that through some freak coincidence sam & max played with some line of collectible toys from space as kids that keroro also played with as a kid and they all get distracted from trying to stop keroro from invading earth/trying to invade earth (respectively) because theyre too busy playing trains on the ground together. everybody wins. tamama is making a judgmental face in the background
sam & max start causing property damage and natsumi beats the hell out of them and shoves them back in the desoto. “Well, that was embarrassing.” “What, because we got our butts kicked by a teenage girl?” “No, because she didn’t even put down the dirty dishes to do it.”
#sorry to put this directly in your notifs gem it just happened to be slightly more convenient to rb from you#basilposting#snmposting

Do you think the Taka and Sumi incident was Alucard's first time?
It probably was his first time, and that adds even more to how traumatising it must have been for him.
His character was socially isolated, highly introverted, the “cold spot” in the room. Sypha went on to say “his sadness is like an icy well; bottomless.” He didn’t seem like the type who would be actively seeking pleasure—that’s different to accepting it when offered, like he did with Taka and Sumi. Alucard never came across as flirty or suggestive or even inappropriate to signify sexual maturity in any way we can infer. In fact, we’d actually been fed the complete opposite signs.
The show also tried to tell us that Alucard was still emotionally immature, still growing up when he was forced to make the tough decision to go against his father. He also said so himself that he aged very fast. He was 19 when he attacked Dracula, 20 when woken up in S1E4, but given that he’d been asleep for a year, we can say he was mentally 19, max. (We don’t even finish developing our prefrontal cortex until age 25, so some immaturity at least checks out scientifically. As Sypha once said, perhaps he really was indeed just an angry teenager in an adult’s body :p).
I think it is highly likely that incident was his first time indeed. His responses to their advances showed signs it might have been his first experience. He was very flustered, and he even cried during it. I personally interpret that as overwhelm, like some sort of tears of joy as if he couldn’t believe it, the connection and intimacy that was happening at the time. “You’ve been so alone,” they said to him. He was shocked by that—flustered, hopeful, touched. Of course, unknowing of what was to come, of the two’s real agenda. Sam Deats confirms this is correct.
Thus, it wasn’t all sex to Alucard. (And that wasn’t even sex to Taka and Sumi either—it was borderline rape too. It was via deception. It was a mission. It was attempted murder.) But to Alucard, that was his first real taste of intimacy, the connection he was always craving. He was very lonely prior to them coming into his life. He was vulnerable and that was a completely abhorrent way to attempt to murder somebody, too. It fucks with the mind much worse than if they had simply attempted to poison him or outright stab him or something.
Not only will it make him mistrust humans, but it will also scar him romantically/sexually. It makes you wonder: how will he let another person in his heart? How will he be able to trust his future sexual partner?
We did see him regress a bit in the beginning of S4, and the show was clever about ending S3 with that downward spiral, giving us a glimpse of Alucard potentially going Dracula on us because of that incident (pikes, anyone?), but no, the kindness in him prevailed. Come S4, when humans needed help again, he let them in yet again, despite having very valid reasons to not want to take the risk again of being betrayed or backstabbed—literally.
That scene really didn’t need to occur to give him a bad time lol, and that was probably done for shock, but… his response after the fact is also one of the reasons why I love him tbh.

i bring you; Muppet Things: a Stranger Things Muppet Fancast by your friendly neighborhood muppet fanatic.
Steve: Kermit; the popular guy in charge, kinda awkward but a lot of charm and charisma, has that “small town boy” charm
Nancy: Miss Piggy; always looking her best, badass, career woman
Eddie: Animal; rocker, eccentric. this one is kinda self explanatory i think
Jonathan: Rowlf; kinda quiet, both have this aura of deep sadness but in a fun way, they have like the same haircut kinda (in a muppet way)
Robin: Fozzie; Kermit’s best friend, awkward, deeply lovable, same vibes honestly
Argyle: Janice; the hair, the vibes, the mannerisms. modern day argyle would LOVE horoscopes dude
Will: Walter; shy, underplays talents, significantly more important then he gives himself credit for. that’s also the gayest muppet i’ve ever seen
Mike: stand alone human
El: Robin the Frog; kind, clever, still learning about the world around them
Dustin: Professor Honeydew; often creating/inventing things, very scientific, i think his tendency to matchmake make a fun parallel to honeydew experimenting
Lucas: Scooter; deeply loyal, always trying to keep the party together and is often under appreciated
Max: Rizzo; very sarcastic, often makes fun of the rest of the party
Joyce: Beaker; anxious, often not understood (Joyce having to fight to get taken seriously and Beakers “meep meep meep” (I’m aware it’s not a perfect pair, but let me have this))
Hopper: Sam the Eagle; same energy
Murray: Gonzo; same energy

1960s Fashion: Sister Boniface Mysteries
It is some vague time in the early 1960s when boy bands make girls shriek insanely and the idea of women professionals hurt some people’s brains. Should the police really have a WPC, a Woman Police Constable? And fashions were shifting to brighter colors, shorter skirts, and bolder prints especially for younger women, and not everyone took up every trend that came along.
True, most of the main characters do not indulge in much fashion. Lorna Watson plays Sister Boniface, a Catholic nun, whose scientific brilliance allows her to work as a police consultant. So she is mostly in a traditional nun’s habit. Of course, this in itself was a distinct style, but a stable one that had not changed much for centuries. Max Brown who plays Sam Gillespie, a Detective Inspector, wears unremarkable, traditional suits, as does Jerry Iwu who plays Felix Livingstone, a Detective Sergeant from Bermuda. These menswear traditions are in bold relief with the women’s wear.
Miranda Raison as Ruth Penny, a newspaper woman keen on the latest scoop, has some teased up-dos with high ponytails and her blouses run to bold prints in fabrics and her evening suits are formal but very bright and often worn with hats. On the job, she dons the occasional newsboy cap. And although Ami Metcalf as Peggy Button, the WPC, mostly wears her uniform, we do get to see her in the bold colors of the era on her time off.
