WIP Wednesday
I finally got sick of sanding and filling the Nomad Vantage, and having some free time finally, I got around to the painting. A quick base coat of gloss black, followed by my least favourite part of painting,
Masking
Eventually I got sick of that too and resorted to some liquid mask for the littlest bits.
A quick go over with some Tamiya Metallic Blue with an airbrush. The white speck is where the tape pealed off the base coat. At this point it doesn't matter since it'll all be weathered and any defect is intentional. I mean it's a 2018 Aston Martin Vantage modified by a bunch of tarmac rats, they aren't going for showroom quality here.
Still a bit to go before it's finished and a lot of little details to paint, but I'm liking the colour scheme. I tried red first but switched to the yellow and it works so much better. Of course I'm now realizing, I'm just giving it the same colour scheme as the Shion Coyote.
And if that was wasn't enough
I started another car. This one has been much easier since I didn't melt half it like I did with the Vantage.
This time I'm converting a Bugatti Divo into either a prototype/concept or a previous generation Caliburn. Thankfully it already looked the part since they based the Caliburn on modern Bugattis.
This is what it use to look like

I think New Vegas out of all the fallout games has the highest density of locations that are still being used for their intended pre-war purpose, albeit in a dilapidated state or under substantially different management. Goodsprings and Nipton were small stopover towns on the way to Vegas before, and they’re still that now. The NCRCF was a prison before the war and it’s still that now. Sloan is still a quarry and Boulder City is still making concrete for government construction projects. Novac was a motel before and it’s a motel now. The Vegas Strip is back in business, the vibes artificially resuscitated. Primm was discount Vegas then, discount Vegas now. Helios One and Hoover Dam are still power plants, still important because they’re power plants. And when locations do get repurposed, there’s typically a better understanding of what they used to be- the NCR knows full well that McCarran used to be an airport, that Camp Golf used to be a resort, there’s no mythologizing going on. Compare the broadly ramshackle settlement construction of Fallout 3 and the monument-centric settlement construction of Fallout 4. Not totally sure what conclusions ought to be drawn from this, but I think it’s interesting.

So I've teased them a bit, but I'll have two new drinking vessels in this week's Etsy update. The new bigger mugs hold about 14-15 oz of liquid and the big ol' tumblers hold about 16oz.

WIP Whenever
I was tagged by @ghostoffuturespast so it's about time for an update on the Nomad Vantage Custom
I just put a coat of primer on it a earlier today just so I can see AAALLLL the parts I need to sand. Since the last update, CDPR added machine guns and missile launchers to nomad vehicles, so I'd be remiss not to add them. They are very small and were put together exclusively with tweezers.
There's also the front wheel spoilers/wings/louvers which took me 5 attempts to get right. They stick out 1mm too far BUT I got them parallel, which is more important so I can live with it. Also the little crash mushrooms/bumpers which really fill out the front end.
And the most importantly pointless part,
HEADLIGHTS
And like all led headlights, these ones blind the fuck out of me. I have the leds for the taillights but that will require more work.
Now if you will excuse me, I need to return to sanding this car. Which will be followed by applying some filler. Then followed by more sanding. Then perhaps more filling. Followed of course, by sanding once again.

Everything wrong with John building a house
It's my 2nd playthrough and I still can't understand what John's doing. Idk if it was supposed to be wrong and funny or if it was just an overlook. If any of you can justify these things please speak up, I want to know.
First thing: Laying this beam on nothing, there's nothing supporting it.
Nailing it to nothing, there's nothing under where John is hammering the nail onto.
Nailing the beam onto brick??? (3 or 4 instances of this)
Setting up some windows in what seems to be like the inside of the house.
Nvm, he's going to nail a plank across the window (also he just starts nailing them at random heights?).
And now, time to nail the ceramic tiles 😭 (also in random order).
