It's been 9 months since I had an update on the Nomad Vantage since I either didn't have the time or the space to work on it. But big advancements.

I figured out I could just make decals from really thin printer paper and glue it onto the model. The only printer I have access to is a monochrome laser printer, but it turns out if you put clear lacquer over the printed toner it completely seals it. Then use thin pva glue to adhere it to the model. I mean what nomad vehicle would be complete without flaming horse skeletons. Plus a few others.

I also threw some old waterslide decals on it for good measure, mostly to fill out some blank spaces. I went to clear it, to seal down the decals and the lacquer reacted badly to everything but the decals and I've had to repaint around them. Not the worst that's ever happened, but not an ideal situation.

I also added a light bar to the roof to, which helps to break up the silhouette. Gives it a more aggressive profile, as if the armour plated bumper wasn't doing enough.

Next to do is finish fixing the paint and then do some weathering. I should be done before the sequel comes out.

I just stumbled upon this work and I was quite impressed and thought it'd be a step in the right direction for the design of these cabinets! Especially the control panels.. I really don't like the Arcade1UP ones..

The one who made these still didn't do the far left and right players correctly they are supposed to be angled so the players on them stand totally to the side of the machine but they still look way better than arcade1up's control panels..

They'd probably have to make it deeper to arrange the controls exactly like the original but that'd be okay..

Regardless of all that I feel like these look quite good and I'd be happy to have something like them in the Kama Arcade!

Not gonna lie though if some company mass produced these tomorrow I'd be tempted to buy them.. ESPECIALLY if they where XL sized!

Want to know how I sculpted the stone road on my most recent base? Its not overly difficult (if a bit time consuming) and as it uses polyclay it can be worked till you are happy.

Putting on a Farm Toy Show!

Have you been to a farm toy show? If not, it is unlike any other event. There is room trading, where toys are set up in hotel rooms that turn into display areas, rooms are filled with vendors, and you will find a variety of new, old, and even at times scratch built (which means built by hand) toys. Others are custom made by tweaking toys that come off the shelf, converting them into something new…

You didn't think twice about taking in a poor lonely soul stranded on the side of the road. You couldn't tell precisely what kind of hybrid he was, just that he was an insectoid with a yellow and black pattern on his lower abdomen. Why would you think twice about helping someone in need?

Nursing him back to health wasn't difficult, he even went out of his way to repay you for doing so. You came home to a clean apartment, dinner warm and ready, and a surprisingly chatty roommate who followed you around like a puppy sometimes. Though there was always something he forgot to say, or was just too nervous to speak up about.

Even as you found yourself rescuing another pair of bee hybrids as well as a pair of wasp hybrids, none of them complained too much...

They didn't like sharing the majority of the apartment but also didn't want to risk being exiled again. And so they worked on making their honey, a vague attempt to coerce you into being their queen and a means of providing income. More reasons to talk to you about possibly quitting the job that stressed you out so much. You could just let them take care of everything.

You clearly weren't as in love with the idea as they were but after one of the worst weeks ever, you had far fewer reservations about their plans. Besides moving out to the countryside would be peaceful, far more peaceful than this bustling city.

And it wasn't like you were wholly opposed to becoming a hive's queen... as bizarre a hive as these five hybrids made.

Honestly the best way I can describe the 2nd season of Arcane is written by extremely competend writers who bit off way more than they could chew. Especially in that short of a timeframe.

It's possible that it was a higher up decision for future League shows, but the focus on the Black Rose & magic worldbuilding took away focus from the core cast and the narrative of 2 cities/sisters opposed to one another. They desperately needed at least 3 more episodes

The writers are competent, but they made some deliberate choices I don't like and pulled focus from things I believe they should've left in focus. It feels like the entire narrative of the show got changed between seasons, and maybe it was always the intention and I should rewatch the entire show front-to-back without a massive hiatus in-between them for me to get it, but from my current standing... It could've been more, and the things that they did focus on and give time to were really good. It's just that the show lost its priorities and primary narrative along the way

A personal project I've been working on over the past few weekends is this Blacksmith's house!

The house itself is scratchbuilt with foam board, card and balsa wood, with air dry clay for the stonework.

I used a SPELLCROW chimney and a Zealot Miniatures door. The MDF base is from Warbases.

The adjoining forge is a 3d printed piece from IGSMinis, (and is able to accommodate an LED) and I've also used some of their crates and barrels.

Built from Scratch

Summary/Synopsis: Due to your kind heart, you slowly "rescued" three shy and sweet bee hybrids and two overtly aggressive wasp hybrids. Yet your ability to set and maintain boundaries whipped them into becoming a (mostly) functioning hive in a nice countryside manor.

Part 1 - Basically an extension of the summary/synopsis and the only thing that has an "order" every other [part] is just by when it was posted and has no bearing on any kind of plot.
