The screen flickers to life, casting a sterile blue glow across the high-glass boardroom. A chime sounds. The synth music is soft, warm, unnaturally comforting.
âIn a perfect world⌠who says you have to be alone?â
[Scene: golden morning light streams through a smart-home window. A woman sips tea as a tall, smiling man ties her apron for her. Cut to holographic customization panels, fingers sliding across facial presets, hair types, emotional spectrums. A glossy chrome heart pulses as code flows behind it.]
âIntroducing Build-A-Boyfriendâ˘, a revolutionary experience by KQ Inc., the worldâs leading innovator in emotional robotics. Whether youâre looking for loyalty, laughter, protection, or passion â weâve engineered the perfect companion, from his cheekbones to his charm.â
âOver 100 hairstyles. 20 hair colors. Hundreds of adjustable features: emotional intelligence, love languages,
conflict styles. Everything is customizable. Everything is yours.â
âBuild trust. Build comfort. Build connection.â
[The KQ logo glows softly: a platinum rose blooming from circuitry.]
Build-A-Boyfriendâ˘
Grand Opening â November 17, 3258 â Hala City
The video faded into silence. Then the lights returned, crisp, clinical, bright.
At the head of the table stood Chairwoman Vira Yun, CEO of KQ Inc. Her expression remained unreadable, but her eyes gleamed, the kind of gleam found in calculated ambition, not excitement.
She turned to face the table of top engineers, market strategists, and high-clearance developers.
âThoughts?â she asked, her tone brisk. âFeedback. Questions. Concerns. Suggestions.â
A silence followed, not out of fear, not exactly, but out of discipline. KQ Inc. didnât reward enthusiasm. It rewarded precision.
Finally, a market rep near the center offered, âThe tone tests well in demos. Emotionally aspirational, but still sterilized enough to fit city guidelines.â
âThe language?â Yun asked.
âRomantic but controlled,â another replied. â'Ownership' is implied without being direct. Citizens wonât be alarmed.â
âExcellent,â Yun said with a curt nod. âThen we proceed as planned. Hala City's flagship store opens November 17th. Media campaign rollout begins in three days.â
She paused, her gaze sharpening.
âThe special line will not be mentioned until one week after launch. Is that understood?â
A few heads nodded. Only a handful at the table even knew what that âspecial lineâ truly entailed. Yn was one of them.
She sat toward the far end of the table, posture poised, eyes tired. Her tablet rested on her lap, screen dimmed, but behind the sleep mode glowed a list of internal reports tagged:
ATEEZ-BETA UNITS: BEHAVIOR DEVIATIONS â OBSERVATION LOGS PENDING
Yn said nothing.
There were already signs the line was unstable. Minor things: timing issues in reaction sequences, spontaneous micro-expressions, strange audio interference. Nothing outside protocol, not yet. Nothing that couldnât be debugged.
Hala City was the Matriarchyâs masterpiece, a glass-and-steel paradise built after the Fall, when nature reclaimed the earth and humankind rebuilt without the burden of chaos.
The male species was gone â extinct from war, plague, or something worse. The truth was debated in underground circles, but the government insisted: peace was found through elimination.
The Supreme Matrons ruled with quiet efficiency. Reproduction was artificial. Emotional regulation was enforced. Love â in its unpredictable, biological form, was discouraged as outdated.
Children were raised by state guardians. Affection was simulated and scheduled. Bonds were monitored through neural metrics and performance reviews.
In that vacuum, KQ Inc. thrived.
They created companions for the emotionally delicate. Tutors for the socially underdeveloped. Grief simulations for those who had lost what the government refused to acknowledge.
Build-A-Boyfriend⢠was simply the next logical step.
The meeting ended, the room emptied â chairs tucked in without a sound, tablets tucked under arms, footsteps softened by KQâs luxury anti-clatter flooring.
Yn lingered a moment longer, tablet resting against her chest, fingers tense.
Then she slipped out of her seat, crossed the vast corridor of frosted glass and synthetic sunlight, and pressed her palm to the exit panel. The doors whispered open, exhaling a puff of sterilized air, and she stepped outside into the city.
Outside the glass wall that stretched from floor to ceiling, the city pulsed in clean, geometric order. Silver transport rails carved silently through the skyline. Light panels glowed in a muted spectrum, perfectly synchronized to the dayâs emotional calibration code. Every color, every sound, every rhythm was regulated, each calculated to keep citizens at a precise emotional neutrality.
Stability. Efficiency. Harmony.
Those were Halaâs sacred values. Engraved into the entrance of every government building, stitched into every school uniform.
Hala City had no military, no prisons, no religion. The old worldâs chaos had been scrubbed from its bones. Instead, there were wellness assessments, emotional correction centers, and State Therapeutic Companions â androids assigned to citizens whose neural scans showed spikes in sentiment, unpredictability, or unresolved grief.
It had been 149 years since The Great Reset, when the last male died and the Matriarchy took hold. Whether extinction was natural or engineered no longer mattered, the Supreme Matrons had rewritten history to begin after.
The world before was called The Collapse Era. Now, the world simply was.
From childhood, every citizen of Hala was raised by assigned maternal figures, rotations of calm, trained nurturers programmed to teach logic, order, and controlled affection.
Love, in the romantic sense, was considered a chemical imbalance. Desire was tolerated only in controlled expressions â within VR therapy suites or government-regulated media.
To crave more was a sign of dysfunction. To want more? Dangerous.
But over time, cracks began to show.
The rise of emotional dependency disorders â the ache for connection that no algorithm could suppress. The quiet epidemic of phantom longing. Citizens reporting dreams they werenât supposed to have. Feelings they couldnât place. Names they didnât know how they knew.
KQ Inc. had the answer: give them what they wanted â but make it safe.
Build-A-Boyfriend⢠wasnât about love. It was about control. A need engineered, then sold. And the citizens of Hala were already lining up.
She turned down a quiet residential corridor â the one lined with mirrored trees and soft sky-glass tiles that absorbed her footsteps. Her apartment block loomed ahead, blinking her ID tag onto the entrance gate.
She glanced once at the skyline before entering â her eyes landing on the KQ Tower far in the distance, its dark silver peak glowing like a god in the clouds.
The door sealed shut behind her with a quiet hiss. Inside, her apartment was as minimal as the rest of Hala â soft lighting, neutral tones, minimalistic furniture, automated temperature preset to her emotional range for the day.
No clutter. No pictures. No history.
Yn set her tablet down on the charging dock near the entry shelf. The screen flickered to life automatically.
â ď¸ ALERT: BEHAVIORAL DEVIATION DETECTED â ATEEZ UNIT 06 Timestamp: 19:04 | Lab 3A Observation Room Severity: Red Flagged: Autonomy Spike â Eye Tracking Outside Command
The warning blinked in silence.
Yn didnât see it. She had already sunk into the corner of her sofa, head tilted back, eyes closed, letting the hum of her apartmentâs emotional regulation system blur the sharpness of her thoughts.
She didnât see the screen pulse again.
â ď¸ Second Deviation Logged. Timestamp: 19:10 | Lab 3A Observation Room Severity: Red Flagged: Autonomy Spike âATEEZ UNIT 06 SPOKE WITHOUT PROMPT. Transcription Pending... âYN"
The screen dimmed. The room fell silent. And somewhere, deep below the city, something smiled.

While maintaining that âfor some, the best outcome will be transition,â it nevertheless effectively recommended that the N.H.S. abandon the guidelines embraced by major mainstream medical associations and restrict the use of medications that have been offered for decades to adolescents across the globe with vanishingly few negative side effects or regrets. The reason, the report says, is that these treatments are insufficiently supported by reliable, long-term evidence. Then, remarkably, the report recommends treatments â psychological treatment and medications for depression and anxiety â that have even less proof behind them in helping children (or adults) with gender dysphoria, though they may help with other mental health issues, and many children with dysphoria already get these treatments. And for all its insistence of evidence, the report is peppered with mere speculation about the potential causes of gender dysphoria: pornography and the phenomenon of social contagion are invoked, with zero credible evidence to support them. It is a strange document. Social conservatives welcomed the report. But it has also been heralded in some liberal quarters in Britain, where even the Labour Party has supported its conclusions, and around the world as a model of open-minded rationalism, of well-intentioned â progressive, even â unbiased scientific inquiry attempting to provide information in young peopleâs best interests. This, they declare, is what following the science and the evidence looks like. But is it? In an effort to evaluate the Cass reportâs findings and recommendations, I spent the months since it was released poring over the document, researching the history of transgender medicine and interviewing experts in gender-affirming care as well as epidemiologists and research scientists about the role of scientific evidence in determining care standards. What I have come to realize is that this report, for all its claims of impartiality, is fundamentally a subjective, political document.
[...]
A great deal of the media coverage of gender-affirming care in the West has painted a picture of huge numbers of children, some of them suffering from profound mental illness, rushed into medical transition, practically force-fed puberty blockers and hormones, then fast-tracked to surgery once they turned 18, based on unproven treatment and perhaps bogus science. But the report itself not only fails to show any evidence of significant regret among patients or other forms of harm; its own data also contradicts the notion of rushed transition. Of the more than 3,300 medical records examined as part of the review, about a quarter of children and adolescents were referred to an endocrinologist, which suggests a significant screening process. Indeed, on average, patients had more than a half dozen consultations before being referred. If anything, the evidence suggests a lack of care bordering on neglect, which is not surprising considering that millions of people are on waiting lists for treatment of all kinds by Britainâs crumbling health system. One of the most common pieces of feedback was that young people lingered on waiting lists, sometimes for years. A number of participants in focus groups convened for the purpose of the report said they felt that they had to âproveâ to clinicians that they were transgender.
[...]
At one point the report posits that because a child has never had the experience of growing up in their assigned sex, they would have no way to know whether they might regret transition. âThey may have had a different outcome without medical intervention and would not have needed to take lifelong hormones,â the report says, referring to children assigned female at birth. It is hard to know what to make of a statement like that. A person gets only one life; waiting to see how it works out isnât really an option. To a queer woman like me, this is an ominous echo of something many of us have heard many times in our lives: Maybe you just havenât met the right man yet. The wish â whether expressed by a parent, a teacher, a therapist or a suitor â is a wish for a child not to be queer. It is hard to find a satisfying explanation for these kinds of conjectures and conclusions in the report other than this one: Many people find transgender people at best unsettling and possibly deluded or mentally ill, or at worst immoral and unnatural. They appear to believe it would be better not to be trans. As much as Cassâs report insists that all lives â trans lives, cis lives, nonbinary lives â have equal value, taken in full it seems to have a clear, paramount goal: making living life in the sex you are assigned at birth as attractive and likely as possible. Whether Cass wants to acknowledge it or not, that is a value judgment: It is better to learn to live with your assigned sex than try to change it. If this is what Cass personally believes is right, fair enough. It can charitably be called a cultural, political or religious belief. But it is not a medical or scientific judgment.

Any thoughts how the rest of the Undersiders are handled in bcf?
Pretty poorly. TLDR
The undersiders as a team have not bonded. They are in a fraught situation barely held together by their individual obligations to Jozef and the assumption that they are a proxy team slash frequent clients of his putting scrutiny and pressure on them from all sides, and times are aggressive towards each other. They are each in difficult positions and far more stressed physically and mentally due to the city being in tatters and Joe's involvement. There is very little love lost between the team and less trust. This is like a natural consequence of Joe's meddling but it sucks and Joe really doesn't fucking care. The undersiders right now are an annoying semi obligation he doesnt really care about beyond bare minimum support and he only ever gave half of a fuck because of Taylor and moving to why their lives indivudally suck....its weird!
Taylor has an extremely unhealthy relationship with Joe where she feels guilty and responsible for his actions and his inappropriate level of attachment to her despite the lack of actual contact. This trend starts from the very beginning where she "seduces" Joe over to villany via his shard and the problems start from there.
Lisa is just put into a torment nexus, BCF does not shy away from #dunking on her narrative wise. She attempts to manipulate Joe, 'falls in over her head' and Joe is continually aggressive towards her and leaving her to deal with the fallout of his more rash actions. Semi recently Joe came across a power that lets him spot manipulation so you know how that goes. Lisa has also spent much of her time with chronic headaches that only Joe can provide occasional relief from. Currently she is contemplating how to inform Joe of Noelle without causing an S Class event because she is unaware Joe and the Forge are already immune to anything Noelle could do anyway. Great.
Alec has had...changes. After the first clash with Bakuda, he was tortured with a blowtorch by the ABB. Joe used nanite technology to heal him and he discovered afterwards he couldn't hijack Bakuda. Joe with his technology went over his neural pathways and identified his brain as damaged due to his upbringing in Heartbreaker's household and in correcting it gave Alec a full range of emotion. Alec is now apparently the emotional center of the team while Taylor and Rachel are orbiting and Lisa and Brian attempt to control the situation. He is also not dealing with this particularly well but Joe approves of the change I guess. BCF and Joe are incredibly weird and hypocritical about neurological changes. So now he's made some attempts to reach out and support his teammates, i guess
Rachel honestly hasn't been given that much screen time. She initially was very against Joe joining the undersiders and was involved in some of their schisms about behavior like the grudge held against Alec for his failed hijack attempt. After the Forge debuts as a team she finds Fleet, a male AI, attractive and goes out on a date riding their dogs together. Rachel is largely positive towards the Forge.
Brian....jeeze where do I begin. I need to do a comprehensive post about his recent triple-terlude. But through most of the story he's been a frazzled control freak unaware of Aisha's contact with Joe. And his dad thinks he's gay now I guess.
As a bonus, Joe approached Lily with the offer to make her immortal via nanites and she also thought he was objectively hot and was like okay sure and now has some dumb sword from him. Joe cannot stop contacting children and telling them to not tell their authority figures.
I could elaborate on any of these but that would make a very long post so i would have to do them separately. Tumblr does have an image limit.

you guys hate me. I'm getting to this. I'm working with these guidelines since i think it follows the spirit of the question:
1 I am not allowed to depower Joe by deleting the CF from existence*
1 (a) i AM allowed to make alterations to its function and characterization (citation, lordroustabout)
1 (b) i am not allowed to "reboot" the fic from the beginning (A la A Daring Synthesis, A Bad Name, etc)
2 i am not allowed to discard Joe as the main character
2 (a) i AM allowed to follow the interludes system of BCF which include alternate perspective addendums. More perspectives, quicker plot. Don't know how BCF fumbled this change
3 No edits to the posted chapters whatsoever.
3 (a) word of God is not legally binding (citation, lordroustabout)
#bcf#brocktons celestial forge#wormfic#wormblr#every five seconds im flashbanged by another character arc that is weird garbage#* chain end scenarios do not count as removal

AITA for demanding a kid's mother compensate me for the expensive protective screen he ruined?
I (24F) used to work in a tutoring center with two classes, my class had around 8 kids, the other class had more because the tutor there is more experienced. I was having trouble managing my time and keeping up with all the classes the kids had. There was this one kid Mike (6M) who is a good kid but slightly mischievous, but I had a lot to say about his mother, I don't like her because she doesn't care. For example, the center closes at 6:30 and she's always like 1 hour late to pick him up, sometimes when I'm in a hurry to leave, I end up having to give him a ride myself because I can't just leave him alone and she doesn't pay me for the extra work. She even started to expect me to give her kid rides whenever she has plans, and never offers to pay. I could've been more strict with her but unfortunately I have social anxiety and have trouble asserting myself, but it's common sense to pay people for these sort of things.
Sometimes she even leaves for a trip OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY after she drops him off at the center (for her job- but it's her personal business and she could literally choose a different time or at least arrange for a pickup for her kid??)
Also Mike has two smartphones that he brings with him everyday and is very protective of them. I have no idea if both of them belong to him but that's irrelevant, the point is somehow he's allowed to carry two smartphones at the age of 6, I find it weird. And apparently the mother isn't even aware of it?! (As will be explained later)
It's been a minute so I don't remember what else I didn't like about this mother but there WERE other issues.
Anyway, the center was unofficial and there weren't any real guidelines for me to follow and I was new and very inexperienced so I often went to the other tutor (36F) for advice and copied her teaching style. For the poems and songs the children had to memorize, she suggested I use a recorded audio on my phone to help them with it instead of having to reread the entire thing for them over and over.
So I used this method a lot. At first I used to hold the phone for them and stay near them, but as time went to I started to trust them with my phone as I see how they handle it but I stay close to it. This continued for like a month and nothing happened to my phone. Sometimes when they are done and waiting for their rides I even let them play games on my mobile sometimes and yet nothing happened.
But one time there was a lot of homework so for Mike and another kid on the same grade I played the audio on loop and left the phone next to them, I warned them from messing with it and left to help another kid with her homework.
As I'm busy with this other kid go back to Mike and I find out he peeled the my phone's protective screen on purpose and he was laughing? Yes he's 6 but he knew exactly what he was doing. He often didn't let anyone touch his phones and often checks for damages and goes on rants about how handle a phone.
I went to the other tutor for advice and told me that was unacceptable and the mother should compensate me for it, so I decided to finally assert myself and immediately messaged her to tell her what her kid did and told her the screen costed me over 100$ (which is a lot of money in our currency) and my job was part time so my monthly salary was only about 660$ and it was the only job I had so obviously I couldn't afford it on my own.
She responded by telling me her a 6 year old doesn't understand the value of these things and it was my fault for lending him my mobile. I replied that I only allowed him to borrow my phone because I saw how he treated his two phones and listed several examples of how he handles them and takes good care of them and understands what damages them.
Her only response was: "Who said he has two phones?"
I was so done that was her only argument, but before I could reply she called management to complain about me demanding her money, they promised to resolve the issue and hung up to hear my side of the story.
My boss told me I was very bold to assume the mother would pay me, while the other tutor was on my side, and I learned in a private conversation with my boss that she wasn't a fan the other tutor's teaching methods.
Needless to say, I quit, for many reasons but this was a big factor so AITA?
What are these acronyms?

By chance is there is a version of your Sour Legacy Challenge rules that is text only? Iâm visually impaired and my screen reader does not work well with the graphic format. Hi again! I hope world building is going well and that you are taking care of yourself.
I have a few questions - First is do you have any headcanons about what 'Ahsoka Tano' means? I think that character names and their meanings (esp in SW) should be given more weight in fandom. They can reveal or highlight things that might get overlooked (for example, in the fic I'm writing the name 'Rex' will connect with the latin meaning 'King', which foreshadows Rex growing into his identity as a leader among the Vod'e.)
Second is do you have any resources on writing POC and POC coded characters in the SW universe? I am white/mexican, but I am white passing and while I can and will write about my experience of how assimilation into a colonial-dominant society is a form of genocide (for context, in my fic, Dai Bendu culture has been slowly disappearing as the Sith/colonial-capitalist Coruscant has influenced the Temple and the Jedi) I do not have the lived experience that POC do and that is a blind spot of mine.
Thanks for reading my lengthy ask, and I hope you have a great day!
Hmm, well, Ahsoka's first name is taken from the Indian emperor Ashoka (or Asoka) the Great. Ahsoka's last name, Tano, is Swahili for âFiveâ.
Headcanon wise, I've often imagined that Ahsoka was supposed to be the next Shaman or Village Head for her people due to her concept art as a child.

Clone Wars has always had a problem- and by problem I mean budget- with only putting plot important children on the screen when their should be more in the background. I have a hard time believing Ahsoka is the only child in her village unless her village was dying out, so the only way she would be alone with an elder learning something was if she was supposed to be privy to special information. Combining this with her name being taken from an emperor, you could say she was created for a leadership position within her people- or her status as a Commander in war. For a fic you could say that she was named after a Queen since Togrutas are matriarchs.
Now, when it comes to creating and writing about characters of color as a white person, I have a few basic steps you could follow, but this is not an end to be all guideline.
1 Who are you trying to write about?
There are many cultures and subcultures in the world and instead of writing about POC, you should really determine what culture you want to include in your writing. Are they Black? Then, are they African American? Haitian? Sudanese? Nambian? Are they mixed? Half Chinese? Russian? Chilean? Brazilian? You get what I'm saying; narrow it down; do some research into the cultures of your and other countries.
2 Read both fiction and non-fiction by non-white authors.
The only way to become a better writer is to both read and to practice writing. Analyze the texts you're engaging with; take notes if you want to. Also, when reading non-fiction, use the CRAP Method. You could also look into stereotypes about the culture you're writing about to avoid them. Many literary youtubers or video essayist have topics like this if you're more of a video watcher.
3 You are going to be wrong.
Now, everyone is wrong. Being wrong is just apart of the learning process, and you shouldn't feel shame for it. Instead, try to start being excited about learning something new. That being said, when it comes to writing, I would seek out sensitivity readers, people who are willing to give advice or share their own writing. Be open to criticism. Research also often leads to results even before having to ask someone.
Finally, there are two blogs on Tumblr at the moment that I'd recommend you read their posts.
Writing With Color
Creating Black Characters
Thank you for the ask. Happy learning and writing; have fun!

S. Baum at Erin In The Morning:
According to documents supposedly leaked to The Telegraphâa British tabloidâthe National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom âwill test all children who believe they are transgender for autism.â âEvery child referred to a gender clinic will be âscreened for neurodevelopmental conditionsâ such as autism and ADHD under new guidance,ââ The Telegraph reports. âIn such cases, the team of doctors will have to determine if the childâs symptoms are caused by autism or whether they also need separate treatment for gender dysphoria.â The NHS did not respond to Erin in the Morningâs request for comment, and Erin in the Morning could not independently verify these claims at this time. So while the policy is not yet set in stone, it wouldnât come as a surprise. It echoes the policy guidelines set out by the Cass Review, a 2024 document commissioned by NHS England. The Cass Review has been widely rebuked by trans people and experts in the trans healthcare fieldânone of whom were actually allowed to have any authority in the reportâs creation. The Cass Review asserts that this is part of a utilitarian effort to create âholisticâ health care for transgender children. In reality, the UKâs proposed mandate on autism and ADHD assessments seems to be another intrusive, needless barrier disguised as âsafeguarding,â yet another instance of anti-trans pseudoscience cloaked in the language of âcaution.â And itâs part of a growing trend targeting both trans people and autistic peopleâgroups with a statistically significant overlap.
Hereâs a brief summary of some things you should know.
Autistic or not, most gender-affirming care is already impossible or near-impossible for minors in the United Kingdom.
Evidence-based best practices in gender health care, such as puberty blockers, are effectively banned for trans people under the age of 18. At this point, puberty has usually already occurred, rendering puberty blockers moot. (However, puberty blockers remain accessible to non-trans youth.) Gender-affirming surgeries are also inaccessible for trans youth. Current NHS guidelines state that starting at age 16, trans youth may access other hormone therapies, such as taking testosterone or estrogen, if they meet âstrict criteria.â Their course of treatment must be approved by a clinical psychologist, a child psychotherapist, a child and adolescent psychiatrist, a family therapist, and a social worker. âThe team will carry out a detailed assessment, usually over 3 to 6 appointments over a period of several months,â the NHS website says. A trans youth seeking hormone therapy would also have to be seen by a general practitioner and an endocrinologist. If a parent objects to their trans child receiving gender-affirming care, they may also be able to override their child's decision until the child turns 18.
[...]
Neurodivergence has been weaponized by bad-faith and anti-LGBTQ forces to invalidate the existence of transgender people.
Southern Poverty Law Center-designated hate groups have used ADHD, autism, and psychiatric mental health issues to write off all trans youth, framing transness and gender diversity as a mere symptom of neurodivergence that needs to be snuffed out. Alternatively, such talking points falsely imply that all people with ADHD and/or autism have intellectual disabilities so profound that they are unable to assert their gender identity. These groups invoke a deep history of using autism to invalidate gender identity.
[...]
While offering increased access to services and supports for autistic youth can be useful, thatâs not the practical effect of this mandate.
Trans kids who are lucky enough to receive a rare placement at a gender clinic are already seen by a litany of mental health care experts; considerations of their mental health and cognitive abilities are already built into existing standards of care for trans people of all ages. Waiting lists for trans-affirming care can already be years-long; adding yet another barrier only serves to forcibly transition queer or gender-questioning youth through a puberty that does not align with their gender, resulting in long-term and potentially irreversible repercussions. The supposed need for these extra hurdles is not supported by evidence. If the UK was really invested in helping neurodivergent people, they could start by providing autism assessments to the record-breaking 172,000 people in the United Kingdom who are already tryingâand unableâto get one due to the backlog. Or perhaps the NHS could dedicate resources to the thousands upon thousands of people with ADHD who have been forced off of their medications due to global supply shortages. This comes as similar tensions bubble across the pond in the United States, where just last week, the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., made sweeping blanket characterizations about autism, declaring that âautism destroys familiesâ and that autistic people will never play baseball, write a poem, or get a job and pay taxes.
More Cass Review insanity in the UK: The UKâs NHS will test trans children to determine if they have âautismâ or not.

don't call me nonnie.
i know that not all proshipping is sexual, but it's still portraying pedophilia/incest positively
the bullet point lists were because i just wanted to separate each sentence into a different point because they were all sort off disconnected
the "they're just pixels" argument doesn't work because every single thing you see on a screen is a bunch of pixels if you zoom in, with that logic every image posted online is "just pixels", including actual csem
Fine, I won't call you that. But riddle me this, anon; why am I showing you more respect than you're showing me? Why have you told me to go fuck myself multiple times in place of having a discussion?
Here's the thing ... the only way you will find csem is if you go looking for it. You are not going to find csem on tumblr because it would break community guidelines. But fictional characters under the age of 18 do not count as csem and numerous child protection services have stated that those are just art.
Likewise, the only way you're gonna find fanfiction of 'kids being raped' as you keep putting it, is if you're trying to be a white knight and seek those writers out purposefully so that you can harass them like you're doing with me. Because most of the proshippers I know tag their stuff so that it can be found by the target audience and blacklisted by the people who don't want to see it.
And here's the thing about proshipping which I think is the biggest hurtle of the anti community. Proship doesn't mean 'I support active sexual predators hurting real living children'. 'Pedophile' as a term is meaningless at this point because everyone on the internet uses it to describe anyone they disagree with. You're better off using predator and paraphile. Predators are the dangerous people who don't give a shit about fiction because they have full-intent to harm others. But the majority of paraphiles? They're no-contact and/or fiction-only on their paraphilias, or they do consenting adult things with their consenting adult partners that are roleplaying with boundaries set in place for a reason.
I've been on the internet since before the term 'proship' even popped up. Back before that we called it Dead Dove, Don't Eat and Don't Like, Don't Look. 'Proship' as a term has the same meaning as those old ones, it's just shorthand. It means 'I support the rights of others to ship whatever they want in their own space regardless of whether or not I like or condone it because I don't know them and it does not involve me'. You don't like the content? You have a block button and you are encouraged to use it to curate your own online experience just like the artists and authors posting that content are.
The fact that you're still here means you're hearing some of what I'm saying and possibly having a hard time coming to terms with it. Believe me, I went through a period of morality crisis between my bpd and ocd telling me that fiction could affect reality and I thought that thinking bad things ( like intrusive thoughts ) made me a Bad Person. But thoughts are just thoughts.
So if you want to come off anon and actually have a conversation with me, I promise I'm not going to name-drop you. The purpose of this blog has only ever been about clearing up misconceptions about proshippers and paraphiles because I used to be uninformed about those topics myself until my partner and another super close friend explained them to me in a way that I could comprehend. And that is that thought crime doesn't exist. And fictional characters don't have autonomy and therefore cannot be abused by your thoughts, your art, your writing, etc.
But if we did away with fictional expression of paraphilias in a healthy artistic manner ( like KOSA is currently trying to do ), the world would be a more dangerous place for potential victims, because paraphiles and predators are always going to exist whether you choose to accept that or not. My own abusers never faced charges, only one of my partners' abusers is rotting in jail, and that is the reality of this fucked up world that we're living in. People with niche fetishes aren't monsters - most are even too embarrassed to talk about them. Active sexual predators online who hop into the DMs of minors to be creeps are a real world problem. And that has nothing to do with the proship community's philosophy of 'ship and let ship'.

Bethany stood at the gates of the Targaryen estate. "Bethany Stone," Criston approached her. "Hi," She said politely, shaking his hand.
"I'm Criston Cole, head of security for the Targaryen family. Miss Daenora's waiting inside for you." Criston gestured to the security who opened the gates. She walked in taking in the grandeur of the house, she'd always heard rumours about how luxurious it was, how there were stables, a tennis court, a pool, houses within the estate itself- she'd even heard that to get around the estate's entirety, you had to drive because it was so huge.
When she stepped inside, Criston led her through the main entrance, where Nora emerged from the West wing of the house . "Bethany," She stood before her- Daenora Targaryen, wearing a matching pink pilates set- nails always perfectly done, silver hair always in a fresh blowout. Girls she knew did everything they could to be like her- dress like Daenora, look like her, be like her-it was undeniable.
"Miss Targaryen" Bethany smiled. "I just wanted to thank you once again for the opportunity." "Of course. Well, we'll see if you live up to my expectations. That's the true test." "C'mon baby, don't scare her off," She heard a male voice, and when he appeared, she recognised him instantly- Aegon Targaryen. He held a little silver-haired toddler in his arms, the girl making Daenora's firm expression soften. "This is one of my brothers, Aegon." Daenora introduced her. Of course she knew who he was- who didn't? She recalled being in high school, and girls- herself included- crushing on him so hard. He was every girls' crush, every girl wished she could be on his arm at a party. Now, in the more domestic setting, she thought to herself that if those girls saw him now, holding one of his daughters, that opinion wouldn't change, at all. They'd still thrown themselves at him. "And this," Daenora took the toddler from him. "Is our Saera. My daughter. Say hello to the new nanny, my love." Saera waved, and said, "Hi!" Saera turned to Nora. "Mama play." Nora smiled, and kissed her chubby cheeks. "Soon, my angel. Mama has to introduce the new nanny to your siblings." She handed Saera back to Aegon. After showing Bethany the entire state- which when included outside, took an hour, Nora returned to the kitchen with her, Criston the ever imposing presence. "Now, you'll be staying in the West Wing. My brothers, sisters and I stay in the East Wing with the children. You'll have baby monitors set up for your room for the children, and my assistant Livia will give you each of the children's schedules. When you're taking the children anywhere, you go by chauffer only, and you'll have at minimum two members of our security team with you at all times, and when you're in public no pictures allowed." Nora began to tell her, and as she did Hel, Daella, Aegon and Charlotte exchanged knowing looks- she was bearing a stark resemblance to Alicent Hightower right about now.
"You're not allowed to send pictures of inside the house, or any of the children to anyone besides members of the family. My sisters will give you an in-depth about the kids dietary guidelines, but Saera is quite simple at this stage, she's weaning off breastmilk, and eating solids, or the homemade baby food. You aren't allowed to bring any outsiders into the house unless it's cleared by me or my brother Aemond." She finished. She looked at her siblings and Charlotte. "I miss anything?" She asked them. Aegon snorted a laugh, and she nudged him. "The children's screen time is monitored and limited," Helaena told Bethany gently. "Aemond is very, very strict about it." "Okay," Bethany smiled nervously- she hadn't met Aemond yet, and if he was anything like Daenora she was more than nervous.
"It's really important to make sure that people don't take pictures of them when you leave the house," Daella said. "People are very, very invasive and the press never stop trying, especially when it comes to the kids." "Of course." Bethany nodded. "Gotta keep an eye on Aenar," Aegon said. "That little guy has enough energy for all of us. And Hera...she can be a bit of a tyrant...gets that from her aunt, funnily enough." Nora rolled her eyes and nudged him again. "My assistant will help you out with moving your things into the West Wing." Nora said. When Bethany was shown out by Criston, Aegon squeezed Nora's ass, and whispered, "I guess it is pretty fitting to call you Mommy, huh?"
!!!!!!!
LOVE THIS !
Bethany will probably be staying up all night now as she tries to remember the rules and such.
Aegon squeezed Nora's ass, and whispered, "I guess it is pretty fitting to call you Mommy, huh?" !!!!
"And you know who daddy is, right?" She purred back to him and watched a blush come over her brother's cheeks

In Our Favor
Part 449
McCoy
The prince tried his hardest to keep his face neutral as he looked at the PADD and into his fatherâs face. King Davidâs eyes had never looked so hard to McCoy before and he couldnât help the small shiver down his spine.
âYou know why I am calling,â David said in an even voice.
âYes,â McCoy answered in his own even voice. He was glad no waver could be heard.
âWhat were you thinking?â David asked. His volume had gotten louder.
âWe were thinking about saving our friend from being hurt or killed,â McCoy answered coolly. Warmth was climbing his face as anger spread in his chest.
âOf all the foolishââ
âWhy is it foolish?â McCoy raised his voice. âWe saved Jaylah. We caught the Romulan. We can sleep easy again. How is it any more foolish than our friends risking their lives to save us? And in more dangerous conditions? People are allowed to be foolish and helpful as long as it isnât me?â
âLeonardââ
âMo ghrĂ dhâŚâ Scotty put a tentative hand on McCoyâs arm.
âNo. I am an adult, I am a member of Starfleet. If Iâm going to be in trouble itâs going to be because I didnât tell my commanding officer!â McCoy continued, his voice getting louder. Even Scottyâs usual soothing touch did nothing to stop his anger.
âWhy canât I just live my life!?â McCoyâs whole body was tense as he shouted the last words.
âLeonard,â David said again in a quieter voice.
McCoy drew in a deep breath.
âYou donât know what itâs like to finally get to do what I want, on my own, without being looked out for or followed all the time,â he said in a calmer voice. âAny tiny thing happens and you want me surrounded again.â He sighed. His anger had run its course and now regret was beginning to fill his chest as he tried to look his father in the eye through the screen.
âYouâre right son, I donât know,â David conceded. âYouâre the first in this family to ever not follow royal guidelines. And all I want is what every other father in the galaxy- in history- has wanted: to know my child is safe.â
âFatherââ shame was warming McCoy's face. Quietly Scotty slipped an arm around his shoulders.
On the PADD David held up a hand.
âYouâve said it and I havenât listened to you well enough in the past. I am proud that you saved your friend. But Iâm never going to stop worrying about you Leonard. And as your father, yes, I think what you did was foolish. I hope you will learn to stop and think before racing into things.â
âThere wasnât timeââ
âThere is always time to think. You had time to come up with your plan.â
âIn fairness sir, me and Aporal came up with the plan,â Scotty said. McCoy heard the nervousness in his husbandâs voice.
âBut I went along with it and didnât protest,â McCoy said, hanging his head.
âAs soon as your admiral has her full reportâŚâ David seemed to hesitate. McCoy looked back up at the screen. âAs soon as they have interrogated the Romulan and if they decide there is no further threat, I will bring home Andre and his team.â
âThank you Father,â McCoy replied in a small voice.
âHowever, you will apologize to him first,â David added.
âI will.â
âHe cares about you as well.â
âI know. He let us know that through his angry glares.â McCoy managed a weak smile.
âLeonard, Iâm glad youâre safe. And you Scotty. Youâre all healed?â
Scotty nodded. âAye.â
âLetâs hope he was working alone then,â David said. âBoys, I love you both. Weâll talk again soon.â
âLove you too,â McCoy said. David smiled, then ended the call. The prince set the PADD down, then turned back to bury his face against Scotty.
âIâm an idiot,â came his muffled voice.
Part 450
Scotty
Scotty could easily tell that the whole thing had taken quite its toll on Leonard. And he felt really sorry for his husband. After all, Leonard was right. He was finally able to live a relatively normal life, but his family was still treating him like the heir to the throne sometimes.
However, Scotty could also see David's reasoning. Parents were always concerned about their children; it was only natural. Scotty didn't even want to think about when Francine and Granddad would call.
"Nae, ye aren't, mo ghrĂ dh. Ye just did what we thought was right," Scotty mumbled, gently running his fingers through Leonard's hair. The prince sighed.
"I'm not talking about saving Jaylah. I know that we did the right thing by helping her, no matter how dangerous everything was. No... I'm an idiot because of the way I talked to my father. I want to be an adult, but sometimes I can be a real brat."
Scotty couldn't help the soft chuckle that escaped his mouth. He pulled Leonard a bit closer to himself.
"Aren't we all sometimes? It's just natural. To behave immature and cocky from time to time. Especially when it's an emotional talk ye're having."
Leonard snuggled his head into Scotty's chest.
"I just wish it wouldn't have to be that way."
"Everything will be fine, Len. Ye saw the look on yer father's face when he ended the call. He forgives ye. Ye're both good."
Scotty could feel Leonard nodding and he knew that he didn't need to say anything else. So they stayed silent, waiting for more calls to follow.
The next call that came was from Jaylah. She told them that Aporal's hand was being taken care of and that they would return to the academy very soon. Admiral Winston was just going to ask them her questions first.
Scotty offered the two of them to come by, but Jaylah said that they would rather spend some time alone. They would see the others at dinner.
About half an hour later, Scotty's PADD rang.
"It's my mum," the Scotsman said, looking at the caller ID. He really wasn't sure if he wanted to answer it, but he knew that Francine would worry even more if he didn't.
Leonard gave him a nod and the two of them sat up straight.
"Hello, a mhĂ thair."
"Hey Francine."
Francine's eyes were wide as she looked from one boy to the other. It was quite obvious how scared she was.
"Oh lads! Are ye okay? I just received a message from Eleanor. She told me that something has happened and that I should better call ye."
Scotty exchanged a quick glance with Leonard and then they both nodded.
"We're fine, Francine. But... Mother is right. Something happened," Leonard started to explain.
"We caught the Romulan," Scotty added and Francine's eyes widened even more. All color left her face.
"Ye what?!"
"Don't worry, a mhĂ thair. We weren't hurt. We are fine. Really," Scotty reassured his mother, but that didn't seem to help calm her down.
"What do ye mean, ye caught him? How? When?"
Some Gaelic rambling followed and Scotty was just about to say something, but Leonard beat him to it.
"Please calm down, Francine. We will tell you everything. Just... try to relax."

indie + private + low-med activity SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG from the sonic franchise. mostly pulls from game-verse (mostly SA2) with inspiration from archie, IDW, sonic x, and my own headcanons. penned by ren. all muns must be 18+.
est. may 2019. moved to this blog mar 2022.
rules + more info under the cut.
biggest rule of thumb: don't be weird. thanks.
i work full-time, blog is low-med activity and sometimes spottier than that. i've been into sonic for a looong time so even if i'm inactive for a while i'll probably inevitably return!
(cont.) i work from home and am most active on my blog during my workday M-F. i don't tend to be active in evenings or weekends. i do not have tumblr mobile!
private blog, which means i am mutuals-only, and i am pretty selective with who i follow. i will only write with people who are 18+. minors are welcome to follow but i will not interact with you.
darker topics feature on this blog but i am uncomfortable interacting with people who write things like incest, shipping adults with children, graphic depictions of sexual assault (which is different from writing a character who is traumatized from being assaulted or simply mentioning it), etc. i am an adult and am comfortable with dark topics but it's easy to tell when people are romanticizing/condoning this stuff instead of approaching it with the nuance these topics deserve. don't be weird. extensive and detailed discussion of dieting, exercise for 'body goals', body dysmorphia and 'fixing' it through exercise, food shaming, also bothers me. i can handle the occasional discussion of these topics and themes but not if it's prevalent.
generally shadow will treat each character in a thread like theyâre âhisâ version of a character unless a character is very divergent in ways that would make it hard to do so (i.e. interacting with a sonic who is only from the OVA canon).
this shadow has no movie influences! iâm up to write with movie portrayals of the cast but i have no desire to write movie shadow myself so i'll just use a crossover verse.
i like duplicates a lot, i just may be a bit nervous to approach first!
i prefer longer, more literate replies. a crack thread here and there is fine, whatever, but i like to write stuff that actually goes somewhere 95% of the time!
shipping is multiship with a heavy emphasis on chemistry; shadow is not someone who is easy to ship with.
as far as nsfw content goes, iâm not comfortable seeing people write smut with the sonic cast (humans are ok though). please tag this accordingly or do it on sideblogs. this includes extensive ic jokes (the occasional one-off is fine) or extensive allusions to nsfw themes. other nsfw content like violence, drinking, drug use, horror, psychological trauma, etc. is fine and doesn't bother me.
i use "cw tag" trigger guidelines. i do not tag specific triggers that come up in shadow's backstory and lore so please keep in mind that things like child death, terminal illness, military themes, medical paraphernalia and imagery, etc. feature extensively on this blog. if any of these topics bug you, this is probably not the blog for you anyway.
i use small text + 75x75 icons in my replies with the occasional bold and italic font for emphasis. if you donât use small text i wonât either.
(cont.) i will not write with people who use super fancy formatting, what bothers me the most is fancy/non screen reader friendly fonts and excessive amounts of spacing between words. font colors (i use tumblr dark mode) and font size changes can be hard for me too.
i don't follow people who post excessive amounts of ooc negativity. even if it's under a cut, tagged as tbd, etc.. an occasional vent is fine of course, we are all human, but please be reasonable.
a pet peeve of mine is sending asks or doing starters or liking starter calls and only getting 1 or 2 replies into them before it gets dropped in favor of another new thread or ask that gets about 1 or 2 replies on it before it gets dropped. i try to limit the amount of threads i have going with someone (soft limit of 3-4) and i will probably stop sending asks or liking starter calls to try and encourage replies on our already-existing threads at a certain point.
if we are mutuals for a while and you are fairly active on the dash and we can't seem to get any interactions going i will sb or hb after a certain point under the assumption that we aren't going to be able to write together. i prefer a sb but i know some people prefer a hb. if i sb you feel free to reach out; i probably just assumed we weren't able to get any writing going, it's not personal. i'm not follow for follow. if i follow you, i want to interact.
(cont.), mutuals are always welcome to write me unprompted starters, send unprompted asks, go through my prompts tag and send me random asks from those prompts. yes even if i reblogged that prompt list like 5 months ago. i am here to write. i want to write. please write with me!
ren, 26, they/he! feel free to say hi. if i'm not on this blog you can probably find me on my low-effort multimuse @/heartinhands or my blog for vergil from devil may cry @/songsofreason.
hereâs the basic info that is really important to my portrayal:
shadow the hedgehog 2005 is not canon to my portrayal of shadow. shadow has not met black doom. he is still part-black arms. gerald retrieved the DNA when he traveled to mobius, seeking help from the tech of the ancient echidnas and babylonians. when he returned to the ARK he infused shadow with this DNA. he called the DNA strand âblack armsâ due to its appearance

(TL:DR; at the bottom)
A recent change to Germany's Criminal Code has altered how its judicial system will treat people who are caught with images of child abuse.
The change comes after the country enacted tough laws in 2021 that made possession of such images a crime punishable by a minimum one-year sentence.
However, the latest change, which affected the classification of the offense and the punishment guidelines, led to a number of headlines that did not spell out all the facts.
The Claim
A Wednesday post on Reddit included a screen grab from an article headlined "Germany decriminalizes child porn possession."
The post said: "Wtf Germany."
A Tuesday post on X (formerly Twitter) by user @kenshirotism, which has been viewed 375,900 times, included a screen grab from an article headlined "'Pro-Pedophile' Activist Group Celebrates as Germany Decriminalizes Child Porn Possession."
The post said: "Bake, wake up, the gates of Hell just opened."
The Facts
The headlines and social media posts suggest that possession of child abuse images would not be a prosecutable offense in Germany. This is not correct.
As reported by German political journal Das Parlament, among others, the changes enacted by Germany's parliament, the Bundestag, did not decriminalize possession but reduced the minimum sentence for possession.
The new change to the Criminal Code means that the minimum penalty for possession has been reduced from one year to three months and changes possession to a misdemeanor. Distribution penalties will be punishable by a minimum of six months' imprisonment. That still makes possession illegal but gives flexibility to judicial authorities to decide on cases judged to be at the "lower end of criminal liability." An introduction to this change, published on the Bundestag website, says it may be useful and appropriate in cases where someone accused of possession did not act out of sexual interest but may have done so to stop or prevent further distribution. Examples may be parents or teachers who found material belonging to youngsters and forwarded it to other parents or pastoral management to keep them informed.
A 2023 report by German media outlet Heise noted research quoted by Justice Minister Marion Gentges of the state of Baden-WĂźrttemberg that over 40 percent of investigations into possession were schoolyard cases, such as school-age children sending nude photos to one another.
Other examples mentioned by German ministers included failing to delete unwanted but abusive messages in a WhatsApp group.
A translation of an introduction of the draft bill on the Bundestag website says that the "proportionate design of the minimum sentence" is necessary for a "reaction in individual cases that is appropriate to the crime and guilt."
The bill retains the maximum penalty for serious cases, up to 10 years, that may involve possession, among other crimes associated with the distribution of child abuse images.
The change did not receive cross-party support, with some arguing for keeping the minimal sentence and making parent-teacher clauses instead. But to suggest that this move effectively decriminalizes all possession offenses is misleading.
Newsweek has contacted a media representative at the Bundestag via email for comment.
The Ruling
Needs Context
Germany's Criminal Code was altered recently, reducing the minimum sentence for possession of child abuse images from one year to three months and changing the classification of the crime to a misdemeanor.
The change is intended to deal with cases at the "lower end of criminal liability." Ministers provided examples of "schoolyard cases" and distribution where the intent was to prevent further dissemination of abuse images.
Serious possession cases are still punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment.
