zane and kai bonded in the early seasons by discovering new music together. both didnt really have a great access to it growing up (there was an only an old radio or maybe a scratchy vinyl player in ignacia's library and zane's village had no electricity) so they mainly grew up hearing their respective villages' traditional live music. Hearing those 'end-of-2012-mashup' compilations changed both of their lives

The Therapist

There's a new therapist at school.

Normally this wouldn't really bother Peter at all, since he's never gone to see a shrink in his life and doesn't ever plan on it, but there's something... off about this woman.

She seems unassuming enough at first glance. Red hair, green eyes, bright red lipstick. But there is something in her eyes, something that Peter can only describe as a predator looking at its next prey, when she looks around the school at all of the teenagers milling about. Heck, even the way she walks makes her seem as if she is a predator stalking her prey.

It could always be some kind of power move, Peter reasons. He's met people like that before, who try to intimidate everyone around them into thinking that they are superior, that they are the apex predator and anyone who dares to cross them would pay for it dearly.

But his Spidey Sense went crazy around her.

He tries to brush it off as paranoia. He'd pulled an all-nighter last night in the lab with Tony because neither of them had been able to sleep, and he hadn't been sleeping well even before that. (Funny, how it had all started the night after he first bumped into the new therapist in the halls.) So his Spidey Sense is probably out of wack because he's tired. Simple as that.

But it seems like everyone in the school is depressed. Even Ned, who can't even muster up the energy and enthusiasm to talk about Legos or Star Wars or even the weather. It worries Peter.

Because it all started when that therapist came to the school.

He can't ignore it forever, he knows that. There is only so long his Spidey Sense can tell him that she is danger danger danger before he finally listens. He has to do something to help everyone.

So he researches.

And he falls into the rabbit hole of ghosts and ectoplasm and secret government organizations and the little, unassuming town of Amity Park, Illinois.

He doesn't sleep that night.

When he comes to school the next morning, Dr. Penelope Spectra looks him dead in the eyes, and smiles.

Now THIS is a good episode. Castiel took Dean back in time to 1973! We find out Sam and Dean's maternal grandparents, Samuel and Deanna Campbell, and Mary are hunters. On top of that, Azazel is playing match maker so he can have his little psychic children be the best of the best, and he made a deal with Mary to revive John after he killed him. Also as if Azazel hasn't killed enough of Sam & Dean's family they killed Samuel and Deanna too. Oh this is so interesting, then Castiel taking Dean back, saying destiny can't be changed but Sam is going down a dark path and either Dean stops him or angels do.

Little headcanon i have(and kind of a writting prompt if you want) is that Mei doesn't really like big, fancy parties. She has to go to them since she was quite young because of her family, but she simply isn't really confortable in them. She would preffer being at one of the messy parties at the Zero-Gravity Arcade a thousand times over being around people that feel like they are just looking for an excuse to judge her more and try to not mess up really badly, thank you very much.

Because of that, she likes to sneaks out of the main place that event is being held in and goes to whatever quiet place she can find, like a Garden or a isolated bathroom, so she can call MK. They usually just talk about random things, like the projects they're working on, what they're going to do the next day and just life in general. Unfortunatly, with MK working at Pigsy's, he can't talk to her for very long because he has work the next day. Sometimes, he can't even talk to her at all because of that. So, in those times, she just keeps scrowling through her social media until it she can go back to her house.

...well, that is what happens before the whole Samadhi Fire thing. And, after it, she somehow gets Red Son's number. So...

Mei, 1 or 2 hours into this party and already sick of it: *calls Red Son's number* please respond, please respond, please-

Red: *picks up* ...

Hello my friends! Apologies if it has looked like I've been ignoring anyone. I finally found the stuff Tumblr hid from me in weird places. Anyway, I just deactivated my Facebook with the goal of spending more time off my phone and in the world around me so this is my last social media site left.

Shockingly watching the first episode of Outlander is what pushed me to finally do this last night. It's kinda hard to explain. But I've been having a lot of thoughts lately along the lines of "if I didn't have my phone right now, Id probably be doing....." And it sounds a lot more enjoyable

So here's to putting it down. And interacting with real people with real purpose when I pick it up again

My mom got home and immediately handed me an ipod classic and said "[Patient] told me her ipod won't hold a charge anymore, so I told her you might be able to fix it, or at least show her how to rip the music library onto her computer"

and I said . "I've told you to stop telling people I can help them with technology ."

And then I noticed the ipod actually still had a full battery (but I'm sure, like my barely functioning ipod classic, within a few seconds-minutes the battery would die), so I glanced through the menus, mostly because I still feel very nostalgic for using ipods & find the tactile buttons/audible clicking/whirring to be a lot more appealing than keeping music on a purely touchscreen torture nexus, but I was also curious about how recent the music this patient listens to is

So I said . "Oh hey, she has Rick Astley on here!"

And after a few minutes she goes . "I have that fucking Rick Astley song stuck in my fucking head." and I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed

I highkey love jjk being distinctly set when it is, with the flashback in the 2000s and present day being 2018. It really bundles together this clusterfuck of nostalgia for me. I'd be pretty close to the kids' ages at the time of the story (never recovered when I realized this) so we've got THAT vein of nostalgia there. But on top of that my damn parents raised me closer to fucking gojo's past/hidden inventory-premature death arc. Basically, a lot closer to a 90s kid, ESPECIALLY technology wise. So double whammy!! Double whammy.
