Reyal At A Glance - Therikine
Tumblr media
Map by @nexelart (twit)
Therikine - Where Land Meets Sea
Therikine is one of the latest settled regions of Southern Reyal during their early history, but it was the most important prior to the discovery of the Yuniv-Semat Trail.
As a temperate island, deep in Alkanite territory, it was exploited for its remoteness and abundance of natural resources at first. As those who fled from South-Eastern Reyal during the Exodus didn't have many resources or much of value in terms of trade goods, Therikine was essentially a holy grail for them.
Following the first religious wars, The Alkanites had a very hard time regaining trust of the rest of the world. Those in Tyrateol and other cities refused to do business with them for almost thirty years, before one day a ship set sail from Therikine to Heryeg-Ta, a major Tenavite shipping center. There, they unloaded several tons of gifts, ranging from dried ajjen mix from Therikine, to a few major works of art from Gallak. This marked one of the first attempts of intercontinental unity and goodwill, even if it didn't last.
In the following centuries, Therikine became a massive hub for traders and civilians alike, drawing in traders all across Reyal. As things cooled down thanks to communication and treaties, Therikine became a symbol of unity; a place where anybody, regardless of their religion, could feel safe together.
Nowadays, Therikine's use in terms of ajjen production has fallen; it's still produced and exported, but in much smaller amounts. Most familial communes, no matter where they're located, have their own greenhouse dedicated to growing the plants needed for it. Instead, Therikine focuses more on its mineral wealth, and has built a few small factories with the GRC's aid to help produce and distribute household robotics.
LV-72
LV-72, or “Laren Vuuhet”, which stands for “Mining Site 72” in the local tongue, was one of the Global Resource Committee’s many prospecting regions in the area. Located in a canyon, the area was originally marked for exploitation due to its high levels of yttrium and iron. However, many were shocked to find the presence of some very well preserved fossils in the canyon walls, coming from just before the Second Reset.
The entire mining operation switched gears, focusing on locating more. As time passed, two junior specialists (Sav and Uutarb, who grew to be very respected in their fields) proposed using ground penetrating radar to see if there was anything else in the area.
They were proven right, and on one fateful cave dive, Uutarb and one of her compatriots discovered two incredibly well preserved fossils. Not from before the Second Reset, but the First. Due to the nature of the extinction events & Reyal’s resurfacing in the periods that followed, they only had a hazy idea of what life was like before these catastrophic events. These caves helped to change their understanding of not only their world, but of themselves.
As this discovery took place well over two hundred years ago, LV-72 has more or less become a tourist attraction. Most of the fossils in the area have already been uncovered, being sent to museums and universities across the globe.
Yuurat
Yuurat is the capital of the United Therikine Communes. Originally, Yuurat had just been a small farming community, forming shortly after the third Exodus wave. Settlers were those who disagreed with mainstream Alkanite beliefs back in Gallak, and set out to find a new land that had been untouched by anyone. After scouring the seas, they found Therikine; a beautiful green gem among the dark blue seas.
Initially, growth was slow. The only things they knew how to work with were the super abundant algae and seaweed that grew in the area, which they used to supplement their diet. After a little more exploration of the region, they discovered a few new fruit species, as well as some miscellaneous vegetables and herbs.
On one fateful day, a local doctor began experimenting with some of the herbs, and discovered that quite a few had some very stimulating properties. After drying some and blending them together, he made Reyal’s very first cup of ajjen; a beverage that would change the world.
Word quickly spread, and ajjen became a very important trade good for Therikine. It began to command trade deals with Gallak and other Alkanite cities, with ajjen being almost as expensive as gold as word of its properties and taste spread. However, as dry ajjen is nowhere near as potent as fresh, things began to die down as some got their hands on seeds to grow their own.
Yuurat’s population slowly declined for a few hundred years, before it had a second wave of exponential growth, thanks to the discovery of rare earth minerals.
Today, however, most mining and production has been moved off world, and Yuurat has become more of a general food producer and vacation town. With a population only a fraction of what it used to be, Yuurat barely holds the power it once did, but is still a bustling and thriving town.
GRC Therikine Outpost
The Global Resource Committee (GRC) can be very closely tied to Therikine, in more ways than one. Therikine has always been a major producer of rare and important minerals, and the GRC was a big player in the development of Therikine’s mining industry.
The GRC’s Therikine outpost was established a little over 250 years ago, initially to help scout for new deposits on one of the relatively uninhabited sections of the island. Mining was already a very important sector for Therikine, but with the aid of the GRC, production tripled. Before the push of mining into space, Therikine would be one of the GRC’s top donors of resources, and played an important role in helping to fund new projects, such as the Rev-Legaken Launch Facility.
The outpost also was a major training facility for the GRC; new recruits of various physical sciences would typically be sent here to get their bearings, before being sent out to other locations across Reyal. Calculating environmental impacts from mining and finding new deposits were fairly easy, so it was a very simple and easy first post for greenhorns.
With the discovery of numerous fossils in the region, mining was slowly toned down in the area, with its new focus becoming paleontology. This marked the slow end of the outpost, as new discoveries are eventually dried up. Choosing for the area to become a center of learning, it was converted to a museum and hotel just a few decades ago.
That’s it for this entry; thanks for your patience in waiting for this! It means a lot to me. Until next week, when we’ll be discussing the Great Central Desert Mountains! Take care!

This one is based on marina iguanas, and the concept of sessile organisms/algae adhering to a creature - URROXAN
Title - Algal wyvern Monster class - Fanged wyvern Known locales - Shores of frigid seas, occasional forays to temperate coasts Element/ailment - Sleep + Soiled Elemental weakness - Thunder (3), Fire (2), Dragon (2), Water (0), Ice (0) Ailment weakness - Paralysis (3), Stun (2), Blast (2), Sleep (0), Poison (0) Urroxan is a unique fanged wyvern adapted to handling the oceans of frigid regions, as well as occasional migrations to more temperate waters. Known for its camouflage of grey and white scales, alongside the myriad of sessile organisms and algae adhered to its body, Urroxan's fluked tail propels it easily through water. The enlarged throat sac and the fleshy 'ports' on its shoulders both emit strange chemicals with which it can defend itself should its camouflage fail. A herbivore specialised in feeding on seaweeds and other forms of marine algae and flora, Urroxan spends most of its time lounging on the coastlines of tundra, or the occasional temperate zone or estuary. It can occasionally supplement its diet with coral or other hard-shelled organisms, but generally it prefers to provide such lifeforms a place upon its back. Forming a symbiotic relationship based on mutual survival, Urroxan is adept at evading attack. Because of this, it has a rather shy but docile nature, and will tolerate humans in close proximity provided they make no sudden motions. Field researchers are advised to likewise coat themselves in any seaweeds to give Urroxan the impression of familiarity, reducing the risk of attack. Though quick to lash out with its teeth, claws and strong tail if need be, Urroxan would rather rely on its ailments to protect itself. The ports on its shoulders release a thick gas that induces a sedative effect in any that breathe it in. Using its tail fluke, Urroxan can quickly spread or reposition the gas it produces, ensuring enemies can't flank it. The enlarged throat sac contains a noxious bile that Urroxan can spit with impressive accuracy. This foul chemical repels most monsters by damaging the eyes and nostrils, and is known to inflict the Soiled status on hunters. Principally, Urroxan prefers to avoid violence, using camouflage when possible. Urroxans will gather with their kind in large creches when lounging on coastlines, ensuring mutual protection. The species seem to be parthenogenetic, as these individuals will build nests and produce eggs without observations of mating. These nesting sites are a lure to many juvenile arthropod species, hoping to sneak past a parent and steal eggs. To this end, Urroxan attract the attention of Frezarion, a brute wyvern dedicated to hunting arthropods, and allow it free roam in their colony to deal with the pests. It is unknown what compels Urroxan to change habitats between cold and temperate seas. Some believe it is to evade the attention of their nemesis Zopristis, though others contend it is to reduce intraspecifc competition. Though equipped with ailments and reasonable physical strength, Urroxan is not a particularly threatening monster (Low Rank - 3, High/Master Rank - 2). Hunters are advised to bring repellants against bile and gas when facing it, and must make sure to target the less defended underside or joints lest their weapons catch on Urroxan's unique armour. Urroxan tends to avoid predation thanks to its camouflage and ailments. That said, it may occasionally be harassed by the likes of Hyborlex and Orcina Krai, and certainly fears predators like Torrenial and Lagiacrus. However, Urroxan's nemesis is the piscine wyvern Zopristis, who is resilient against its defences and has a paralyzing sting to stun the fanged wyvern. Only by putting its body in a torpid state can Urroxan hope to fool Zopristis's detection of electrical signals. - Thank you for reading and take care.

This Deep Sea Hearing Formula Supports The Health Of Your Ears
Tumblr media
Introduction
The human ear, with its delicate and intricate structure, is a marvel of natural engineering. Yet, this complex organ is vulnerable to a range of ailments that can compromise its function. As people age, hearing loss becomes increasingly common, leading to a diminished quality of life. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in natural remedies that support ear health, particularly those derived from the deep sea. This shift towards marine-based solutions reflects a broader trend in health and wellness, where individuals are seeking safer, more holistic approaches to maintaining their well-being.
Understanding Hearing Loss
Hearing loss can be attributed to various causes, including prolonged exposure to loud noises, infections, genetic factors, and the natural aging process. The impact of hearing decline extends beyond the mere inability to hear; it affects communication, social interactions, and even mental health. Conventional treatments for hearing loss, such as hearing aids and surgeries, while effective, come with their own set of limitations and risks. This has led many to explore alternative treatments, such as supplements designed to bolster ear health from within.
The Science Behind Hearing Support
The ear is composed of three primary parts: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. Each section plays a critical role in the process of hearing. Over time, factors such as reduced blood flow, inflammation, and oxidative stress can lead to the deterioration of auditory cells, resulting in hearing loss. Understanding these mechanisms is crucial for developing effective treatments that can slow or even reverse hearing decline.
The Promise of Deep Sea Ingredients
Marine environments, particularly the deep sea, are rich in bioactive compounds that have been used for centuries in traditional medicine. The unique conditions of the deep sea—such as extreme pressure, low temperatures, and minimal light—foster the development of robust, nutrient-dense organisms. These organisms possess remarkable properties that can be harnessed to support human health, including the health of the ears.
Key Ingredients in Deep Sea Hearing Formulas
One of the most potent ingredients found in deep sea hearing formulas is Omega-3 fatty acids. These essential fats are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and are crucial for maintaining the health of cell membranes, including those in the auditory system. Another powerful component is Astaxanthin, a red pigment found in certain marine algae and seafood. It is one of nature’s most potent antioxidants, capable of protecting auditory cells from oxidative damage. Marine collagen, derived from fish, plays a key role in strengthening the structural integrity of the ear’s connective tissues. Seaweed extracts, rich in vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive compounds, offer additional support by nourishing the auditory system.
How These Ingredients Support Ear Health
The benefits of these deep sea ingredients extend beyond basic nutrition. Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce inflammation in the ear, which is a common contributor to hearing loss. Improved blood flow to the auditory cells ensures that they receive the necessary nutrients and oxygen to function optimally. Antioxidants like Astaxanthin protect these cells from the harmful effects of free radicals, while marine collagen helps maintain the ear’s structural integrity, reducing the risk of age-related damage.
Research and Clinical Studies
Numerous studies have explored the effects of marine-based ingredients on ear health. Research indicates that individuals who regularly consume Omega-3s have a lower risk of hearing loss. Clinical trials have shown that Astaxanthin can significantly reduce oxidative stress in auditory cells, leading to improved hearing outcomes. Case studies from users of deep sea hearing formulas further corroborate these findings, with many reporting noticeable improvements in their hearing ability.

Comparing Deep Sea Formulas with Conventional Supplements
One of the advantages of deep sea hearing formulas is their high potency and bioavailability. The nutrients derived from marine sources are often more easily absorbed by the body compared to their synthetic counterparts. Additionally, these formulas are typically free from synthetic additives, making them a safer option for long-term use.
How to Incorporate Deep Sea Hearing Formulas into Your Routine
To reap the full benefits of deep sea hearing formulas, it is important to follow the recommended dosage and timing. Most experts suggest taking these supplements with meals to enhance absorption. Pairing them with a balanced diet that includes plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins can further optimize their effects on ear health.
Potential Side Effects and Precautions
While deep sea hearing formulas are generally safe, certain individuals should exercise caution. Those with allergies to seafood or certain marine-derived ingredients should avoid these supplements. It is also important to consult with a healthcare provider if you are taking other medications, as there may be potential interactions.
Choosing the Right Deep Sea Hearing Formula
When selecting a deep sea hearing formula, look for products that are sustainably sourced and have been tested for purity and potency. Reputable brands often provide detailed information about their sourcing and manufacturing processes, which can help you make an informed decision.
Frequently Asked Questions
One common question is how long it takes to notice results. While individual experiences vary, many users report improvements within a few weeks of consistent use. Another question is whether these formulas can prevent hearing loss. While they cannot reverse existing damage, they can help slow the progression and support overall ear health. As for long-term use, these formulas are generally safe, provided they are taken as directed.
Testimonials and Success Stories
Users of deep sea hearing formulas often share transformative stories of how these products have improved their hearing and overall quality of life. From regaining the ability to enjoy conversations to experiencing less ringing in the ears, the positive feedback is both inspiring and encouraging.
The Future of Hearing Health
As research into marine-based remedies continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more innovative solutions for hearing health. The potential for these natural compounds to not only support ear health but also address other aspects of wellness is vast, making them a promising area of study.
Conclusion
In summary, deep sea hearing formulas offer a powerful, natural way to support ear health. By incorporating these marine-based ingredients into your daily routine, you can take proactive steps to maintain your hearing and overall well-being. The journey to better ear health starts with informed choices and a commitment to taking care of one of your most vital senses.

So like. A while back I came up with the headcanon that albino Dhelmise would be more inclined to attack a wider variety of prey items due to being unable to photosynthesize effectively. This is partly inspired by real plants that lack the pigments necessary for photosynthesis and instead parasitize other plants, such as the appropriately named ghost plant(Monotropa uniflora)(this one is actually the main inspiration for this headcanon due to its name and the fact that it can be a very pale pink or deep crimson— sound familiar?), beechdrops(Epifagus virginiana), and dodders. It obviously isn’t going to be 1:1 for a few reasons, those being that seaweed isn’t actually a plant to begin with(kelps are all macroalgae), there are currently no identified non-photosynthetic macroalgae(only two types of algae are known to be heterotrophic, both of which are strictly unicellular parasites), and the fact that Dhelmise is already known to be predatory/carnivorous rather than parasitic. Still, I think there’s enough basis both in real life and in-universe for this to hypothetically be a thing.
While their normal and shiny(and probably melanistic) counterparts would be able to supplement their nutritional needs by just hanging out in shallower waters during the day, that wouldn’t really be an option for individuals that lack pigmentation. Spending more energy hunting to make up for being unable to passively generate it would naturally lead to an overall increase in energy needs, which in turn means it would be beneficial to take what they can get. They can’t afford to rely solely on encounters with Wailords or other large Pokémon because they don’t have a consistent energy source to keep them alive(well, as alive as a ghost can be) between hunts, especially when taking into account how unlikely it is that they have a 100% hunting success rate to begin with. Also consider the kinda funny idea that the ones you should worry about aren’t dark green and able to be fairly camouflaged, a threatening shade of red, or ace pride flag colored the kind of colors you’d expect of a powerful sea creature that feeds on life energy— it’s the ones that are pastel pink and purple. Sailors telling stories of the heart-stopping moment they caught a glimpse of baby pink beneath the waves and prayed their ship wouldn’t join the countless others dragged beneath the waves.
Anyways would having like twenty of them in one field be considered dangerous for visitors in-universe, in the same way that wildlife safaris in areas with big cats or large herbivores(bison, buffalo, etc) are? Would the hugelarge Dhelmise pool(s) need a sign like WARNING DO NOT COME WITHIN 10 FEET OF THE WATER THEY WILL HAPPILY TAKE MORE THAN JUST BERRIES IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. Do you gotta sign a waiver that makes it so that Av’s Seaweed Emporium wouldn’t be legally liable for any seaweed-related injuries caused by improper conduct just to be able to visit The Gang

In the spirit of Earth Day -and totally not because I happened to go down a rabbit hole centering on marine "plant"life- I'd like to take this time to point out how very many types of edible algae there are.
Nori (which is what California likes to put inside their sushi -the heretics they are), is made of various types of edible red algae. It is also used in foods like nori chicken (try it, it's good), kaki mochi/arare/mochi crunch (found here in Hawaii in the snacks aisle at Walmart), furikake (seasoning), and much more.
Wakame, a brown algae, is used in miso soup and other dishes (or just eat it on its own, I know I would) is high in various minerals, mainly manganese and sodium. It's also yummy, and cronchy. Imagine a pickle that isn't necessarily sour. But like, in the vague shape of a noodle. I recommend it. Highly.
Grapestone is a red algae that can be cooked up like in stir fry or in a soup, and apparently tastes like oysters. It can be fished, but harvest responsibly.
Sea grapes! C. Lentillifera is a cronchy algae that reportedly pops like caviar! I want to try it myself. Apparently umami.
Giant kelp. You can eat it, and it's hot a bunch of nutrients making it suitable as a dietary supplement.
Sea lettuce. Apparently it's a green algae. Though it may contain toxic heavy metals depending on where it was harvested from.
There are many more. Seaweed farming is a carbon-negative affair. But it can have side effects depending on how it is done. For example, wakame seaweed is invasive in the USA and New Zealand.

2. May support immunity
According to one study, Atlantic salmon that consumed sea moss had a more effective immunological reaction than salmon who did not. Since humans and fish have quite different bodies, no study has yet demonstrated that the same effect occurs in humans. Still, a sound immune system is linked to a sound digestive system. Additionally, sea moss has significant levels of iron and antioxidants, both of which support a healthy immune system.
3. Supports thyroid health
Iodine, a vitamin essential for optimal thyroid function, is abundant in seaweeds. You can only obtain iodine through diet because your body cannot produce it on its own. However, most individuals get enough iodine from dairy products, shellfish, and iodized salt.
Compared to most vegetables, seaweed has a higher fibre content, which is advantageous because fibre has a variety of health benefits for the body. Some studies have shown that seaweed lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and shows anticoagulant activity thus works as a blood thinner, potentially lowering your risk of developing chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. It can also improve blood sugar regulation.

Kourtney Kardashian recently discussed her newest Lemme product, a sea moss tincture called Lemme Sea, on Instagram. She claimed in her post that she had tried the herb in smoothies in gel form but had never been able to fully incorporate it into her routine. She wrote, “I just couldn’t get over the taste.” I was so so sooooo excited to make a sea moss tincture that tasted yummy. … And for those of you who cringe at the taste of sea moss — we made ours taste sweet and fresh.”
Are Sea Moss Gummies Safe Now?
The usage of sea moss for alleged nutritional and therapeutic purposes has a long history. Sea moss may have been used in Chinese medicine as early as 600 B.C., and by 400 B.C., it had spread to the British Isles and was used as a food source. During the Great Famine in Ireland in the middle of the 19th century, sea moss proved to be a necessary source of sustenance, and Irish immigrants eventually built seaweed farms in the United States. When agar became scarce during World War II.
Sea moss gummies can be a convenient way to add sea moss to your diet, as they provide a pre-measured and easy-to-consume form of the supplement. However Sea moss gummies may not offer the same nutritional advantages as swallowing real sea moss, and they may also contain additional substances like sugar and preservatives. Additionally, it is always important to consult the doctor before incorporating any kind of supplement into your diet for the best and safe health cautious practices

Vitamin Supplements for Vegetarians and Vegans: What You Should Know
Discover essential vitamin supplements for vegetarians and vegans to maintain balanced nutrition. Learn how HINEX products can support your dietary needs effectively.
Tumblr media
Adopting a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle can offer numerous health benefits, including a lower risk of chronic diseases, better weight management, and improved digestion. However, these diets can sometimes fall short in providing certain essential nutrients, especially vitamins that are primarily found in animal products. This is where vitamin supplements come in. Here's what you need to know about vitamin supplements for vegetarians and vegans to ensure you meet your nutritional needs and how HINEX products can support you in achieving complete balanced nutrition.
Essential Vitamins for Vegetarians and Vegans
1. Vitamin B12:
Importance: Vital for red blood cell formation, neurological function, and DNA synthesis.
Sources: Almost exclusively found in animal products. Deficiency can lead to anemia and neurological issues.
Supplementation: Vegans and vegetarians should consider B12 supplements or fortified foods such as plant-based milks, breakfast cereals, and nutritional yeast.
2. Vitamin D:
Importance: Crucial for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation.
Sources: Produced by the skin in response to sunlight; found in fatty fish and fortified dairy products.
Supplementation: Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) is plant-based, while D3 (cholecalciferol) can be derived from animal or plant sources (lichen-based D3 is vegan-friendly).
3. Omega-3 Fatty Acids (DHA and EPA):
Importance: Essential for brain health, heart health, and reducing inflammation.
Sources: Found in high amounts in fatty fish and algae.
Supplementation: Algal oil supplements are a vegan source of DHA and EPA.
4. Iron:
Importance: Necessary for the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells.
Sources: Heme iron from animal products is more easily absorbed than non-heme iron from plant sources like lentils, beans, and spinach.
Supplementation: Iron supplements can help, but it's important to pair non-heme iron sources with vitamin C to enhance absorption.
5. Calcium:
Importance: Critical for bone health, muscle function, and nerve signaling.
Sources: Found in dairy products, fortified plant milks, tofu, and leafy greens.

Ocean Plants - What Plants Live Underwater?
Tumblr media
The underwater world is a marvelous one, consisting of over 70% of the earth’s surface. While the majestic, pelagic fish like manta rays and sharks leave us gasping in awe and the colorful reef fish tell the story of an underwater city, we often overlook one of the most important aspects of the marine world: PLANTS!  Although nature will always find a way, it is currently known that marine life would simply not exist without aquatic plants. And because they provide the Earth’s atmosphere with about 50% oxygen and absorb about 25% of the carbon dioxide, we above-ground dwellers are also likely to have a very hard time.  In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at these unsung heroes of the underwater world and learn about the most common ones!  What is an Ocean Plant? An ocean plant is an aquatic plant that is adapted to living in seawater. Like terrestrial plants, (that live on the earth’s surface), they survive on a process called photosynthesis, which is basically using sunlight and chlorophyll to turn water and carbon dioxide into nutrients on which they rely. Fun Fact: Photo means “light”, and synthesis means “put together”!  Unlike their terrestrial counterparts with roots that absorb nutrients from the ground, ocean plants get the good stuff from the waters around them. Instead, their roots anchor them to the seabed of corals, rock formations, or sand, to stop them from floating freely. The amount of sunlight that can penetrate water is significantly reduced at depth, which is why most ocean plants are found in shallow reefs and not deeper waters. However, nature is wonderful, and many plants have since evolved to metabolize bicarbonate ions as a source of carbon instead.  Common Types of Ocean Plants There are over a million species of underwater flora! However, they can be broadly classified into a few categories.  Phytoplankton These little microscopic algae are the foundation of the oceanic food chain. Not only do they provide food for a vast number of marine species, but they also provide oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. There are two main types of phytoplankton: diatoms and dinoflagellates. Diatoms are single-celled algae that are mainly responsible for food and oxygen production while dinoflagellates cause bioluminescence, the fantastic greenish or bluish lightshow you see in some marine environments.  Seaweeds, also called Macroalgae There are numerous species of seaweeds, and they typically fall into one of three categories: kelp, red algae, and green algae. Kelp is the long, brown seaweed commonly found in underwater forests. Not only does kelp provide shelter and food for many species, but it also reduces the impact of strong winds and waves, protecting the shoreline from erosion. Two common species of kelp are Giant Kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) and Bull Kelp (Nereocystis luetkeana). Red algae, also known as Rhodophyta, are red because of a pigment called phycoerythrin, allowing the plants to survive in deeper waters by absorbing blue light and reflecting red. They contribute to the formation and stabilization of reefs and also support the marine world by supplying food and shelter.  In recent times, green algae, or Chlorophyta, has shot to the limelight as a superfood and common supplement ingredient. Species like chlorella and spirulina are harvested for their nutritional benefits and others are studied as potential sources of fuel. Underwater, green algae plays a crucial role in providing habitat and food, as well as producing vast amounts of oxygen.  Seagrasses Seagrasses are found in shallow coastal waters, forming dense, underwater meadows that provide habitat and food for marine life. They are also often nursery grounds for larger fish as the vulnerable shelter from other predators.  Seagrasses have roots, stems, and leaves, helping stabilize sediment and prevent land erosion. They play a huge role in capturing and storing carbon, making them crucial to mitigating climate change.  Mangroves Mangroves are an interesting group of trees and shrubs that have evolved to thrive in salty environments. While most of the plant grows above the water, the specialized root systems remain underwater, providing stability to soft, muddy seabeds and reducing erosion. They also provide the surrounding environment vital protection against strong winds, waves, storms, and tsunamis.  Mangroves are rich habitats, nurseries, and breeding grounds for many species, both terrestrial and aquatic like insects, fish, birds, and crustaceans.  Sargassum If you’re walking along the beach and see a bunch of seaweed-like looking plants that have little bubbles in them, chances are, that’s sargassum! This genus of seaweed floats freely on the ocean’s surface and provides valuable food and shelter for many marine species, serving as nurseries for young organisms and protecting them from predators.  Ocean Plants: Frequently Asked Questions Are there plants in the deep ocean? Like terrestrial plants, underwater plants need sunlight for photosynthesis, which is why the majority of plants are found at shallower depths where light can still penetrate. Blue light penetrates water best, and as red and brown algae can absorb blue light, they can be found at greater depths.  How do plants survive in the ocean? Unlike their terrestrial (land-dwelling) counterparts, ocean plants do not get their nutrients from their roots. Instead, they get them from the surrounding waters. In addition, they absorb sunlight and convert them to carbon dioxide and nutrients in a process called photosynthesis.  Final Thoughts  Ready to check out some cool plants? While snorkeling is a fun way to see them, the way to go is scuba diving, where you can get up close and personal with these underwater superheroes.  Because kelp and other sea plants can get you tangled, be sure to take a scuba knife to cut yourself free if necessary, and a scuba light to bring out colors and see better in a dark environment. Try not to touch anything but if unavoidable, be sure to handle any aquatic plants with diving gloves to protect your hands from stings and abrasions. If you have difficulty identifying the plants, you can use an underwater camera like a GoPro to keep an accurate record and confirm their identity once you’ve reached the surface. How to Increase Your Red Blood Cell Count Naturally
1.  Focus on Diet
There are five main nutrients that are ESSENTIAL for red blood cell production. These include: vitamin B6, vitamin B9 (folate), vitamin B12, copper, and iron. In addition, chlorophyll, the pigment found in plants and algae that give them their green color, has been proven to help with red blood cell production and hemoglobin.
Foods high in vitamin B6 - grass-fed/organic/lean red meat, poultry, fish, potatoes, squash, chickpeas, bananas, papaya, and cantaloupe
Foods high in vitamin B9 (folate)- leafy greens, citrus fruits, beans/legumes, and fortified grains
Foods high in vitamin B12 - organic meat, salmon, tuna, shellfish, eggs, fortified cereal, nutritional yeast
Foods high in copper - shellfish, leafy greens, spirulina, shiitake mushrooms, nuts and seeds, dates, figs, grapes, cherries, and apricots
Foods high in iron - grass-fed/organic/lean red meat, leafy greens, beans/legumes
Foods high in chlorophyll - spinach, kale, romaine, arugula, and seaweed
2. Supplement When Necessary
Depending on your current levels of vitamins B6, B9, B12, iron, and copper, it may be beneficial to take these as dietary supplements. Ask your doctor to test these values before starting on any dietary supplement.  Both deficiency and excess of these vitamins/minerals can be harmful, so supplementing accordingly is important.
Also, as you may have read in one of my other blogs, not all supplements are created equally. Professional-grade supplements are (generally) higher quality than those that can be bought over-the-counter. I highly recommend only purchasing professional grade supplements from an authorized healthcare professional that orders directly from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, there have been numerous accounts of different online retailers selling counterfeit supplements. Here's just one account, "More Counterfiet Supplement Products Discovered on Amazon."
Here are my top picks for professional-grade supplements that can improve one's red-blood-cell count:
Vitamin B6 Pure Encapsulations P5P (B6) Designs for Health B6 Liquid Vitamin B9 (Folate) Thorne 5-MTHF (Folate) Vitamin B12 Integrative Therapeutics Vitamin B12 Pure Encapsulations Vitamin B12 Liquid Iron Thorne Ferrasorb Copper Pure Encapsulations Copper Glycinate Dr's Advantage Liquid Zinc Copper Complex Chlorophyll Buried Treasure Liquid Chlorophyll Protocol for Life Balance Chlorophyll
3.  Stay Hydrated
Dehydration can decrease blood volume and affect red blood cell concentration. Aim to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, primarily water.
4. Exercise Regularly
Engage in moderate aerobic exercises like walking, cycling, or swimming to stimulate blood circulation and promote red blood cell production.
5. Get Sufficient Rest
Prioritize quality sleep as it supports overall health and enables the body to repair and regenerate cells, including red blood cells.
6. Manage Stress
Chronic stress can impact blood cell production. Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga to reduce stress levels.
7. Avoid Smoking and Avoid/Limit Alcohol
Smoking impairs oxygen transport in the blood, while excessive alcohol consumption can lead to nutrient deficiencies. Minimize or eliminate these habits for optimal blood health.
8. Monitor Health Conditions
Certain medical conditions like kidney disease or inflammatory disorders can affect red blood cell production. Regularly monitor and manage any underlying health issues with the guidance of your healthcare professionals for personalized recommendations tailored to your needs.
