Happy Koshien Update for everyone since we are half way through everyone training arc I’ll start with some big news.

First Congrats to Hibari for being the first ever coach to get to the main Koshien Tournament TWICE in first year. No one has ever done this even once and to do so twice he has gain a huge advantage.

To put in slight contrast, this has allowed him to be the first coach this year to get a player (Uzuki Kou) to a B rank (Catcher B) in FIRST YEAR. The second player to do this is Shiina’s Kuzuha (Pitch B) who only managed to do so in SECOND YEAR keeping in mind Kou got here first.

This has put him at a new advantage we never seen in Koshien yet. Will it be enough to come out on top? Is Hibari our biggest dark horse yet? We’ll just have to see

Now to notable player stuff:

Reincarnated Players take teams by storm both for Nui, Leos, Yashiro, and Hibari. Reincarnated players are strong players in game based on players in real life (ex. Kzh is a reincarnated player, that’s why he’s so strong). Most notably Nui has gained the strongest pitcher in her region giving her another lead.

Catcher A, the best catcher ability has been obtained by Selen Tatsuki, ShizuRin, and Tsukino Mito. With the ever growing rise of strong pitchers, will everyone else be able to have the offensive to keep the game in check? Notable meantion goesto ShizuRin who not only got Catcher A, but both Intimidation and Abehi as well.

As for the pitcher side, ‘Intimidation’ (the strongest pitcher ability) has been attained by Enna, Chaika, ShizuRin, and Sonny, after rigorous training and luck. While they are not the only Intimidation players in the game (few start out with it naturally) this remains a huge advantage due to the debuff it brings to the field.

With that I’ll end this post by saying this year’s player focus on two key things. Strong pitchers and Flexible Characters. Many pitchers you see like Kuzuha, Lauren, and Kou are also all strong batters as well, while players like ShizuRin has developed abilities to make them an all rounder for any situation.

This seems like another year of stamina management as well. Who will come out on top? No one knows, but with the ever growing competition arising players might want to start focusing on their offensive and stamina next.

The Show by Rock Character Bracket is Here!

Are you tired of seeing Show by Rock characters show up in other brackets, just to lose because they got put up against a far more popular series? Then here's a character bracket that shouldn't have that problem!

It includes a total of 128 characters, from both Fes a Live and the old game. (FaL tie-in bands were, unfortunately, not included since it would make a number that would lead to a more complicated bracket. But, if you guys want, we could later make a mini-bracket with just them!)

For the sake of trying to keep at least the initial matches as fair as possible, FaL characters and old game characters were split up (Kintaurus and Cheety included in order to get the right number of matches per side, and also because they were two of the few characters in 'Special' FaL bands to get bromides). FaL characters were paired up based on number of FaL URs for each character, while old game characters were organised in alphabetical order.

Random facts?

Toughest guy there is probably Kohaku. Baby-faced, he often is disregarded, but he's an accomplished swordsman, a samurai because he wanted to be a class that resembled his homeland the best.

Allistair is a genius with money and politics, so he's dedicating himself to that to support his sister. (he has picked up the lance. at first, it was because looking so much like his father everyone expected it of him, but then he actually grew to love it)

Everyone expects either Yuri or Tsukino to be the most like Sakura, but it's actually Selene, and she can often be found in the gardens.

Fujimaru is salivating at the thought of marrying off Tsukino but Sakura has basically put the fear of the gods in him if he thinks he can make any arrangements with his children. Surely a sour-faced elezen lancer standing behind the diminutive princess helped in that regard.

Renji is least likely to stay in the royal family, electing to forsake his title for the life of a wanderer. Sakura doesn't think it necessary, he can do as he pleases. He wants none of his children to live bound to duty as he had. Every child can make their own choice.

Lena and Nela Arondite [She/Gay]

System: Thirsty Sword Lesbians

Playbooks: Scoundrel, Ensemble, Matriarch

Blood Princess Lena Arondite, Captain Lena Of The Liberators, a woman of several titles who is always ready to defy fate. Lena is plural and her headmate Nela shares the body with her, they both use the name Lena with most people. Lena was a runaway princess, not wanting to marry the man her parents set up for her. So after a few failed attempts to escape with her beloved she ran away on her own which lead to her becoming Captain Of The Liberators. After years her crew were captured by a Bounty Hunter Lena played a game of cat and mouse with forcing her to surrender herself for their sake. She was forced back into being a princess but this time serving a different country reporting back any and all information to their head of information.

The disaster Lesbian fell in love with a lot of people, went through a big encounter finding out she is plural and that their purple eyes weren't an accident but that The Pure Lady, a twisted parasite goddess had intended them to be part of her plans inserting a piece of herself in them when they were yet alive. Lena was captured by her and saved by her friends and new lovers she made at the Academy she had been forced to attend.

After this she playbook changed representing the relationship between herself and Nela as they began to really understand the powers granted to them by the defeated goddess and more about themselves. During this time they also had a couple of babies. Becoming a family woman with both new babies and dating a mother of twins paired with her found family she switched over to a Matriarch. Gay are dealing with the conflict of wanting to do it all for everyone and be it all for everyone. Lena loves her family, wants to make the world a better place, has obligations to the kingdom again for a long term plan to remove the throne, and is helping fight in a revolution all while trying to be with all the people she loves.

Selena/Selene Tsukino [She/Her]

System: Super Idols RPG

Playbook: The Actor

Queen Selene built an indie pop power house with her dear friends. She created the new band The Powder Kegs gathering who she thought were the best indie talents on the table to win the battle of the bands reality show The Tour. Selena's parents were part of an international mob her mom and dad ran the Japanese part of the operations but they would often take her traveling with her. With that they imparted the importance of her learning English along with her families native Spanish and Japanese. She would eventually move to America with her aunt once her parents were in hot water. The pop star hoped that her music could inspire other trans women and lesbians to be fully themselves but also hopes that it can inspire people to oppose the oppressive structures of power that lead to her family being involved in stuck in mob activity.

As a super idol she has the power to create things with her voice and shapeshift. She is not great at fighting and is far more of a tactical mind putting together schemes, flirting, seducing, manipulating, and a pretty good shot if she has to. Queen Selene is determined to win the gameshow and boosting Empress Records to make her dreams come true. Even then though, her secret dreams may come to clash with her new friendships and partnerships and it's an exciting ride.

Arma Guardiana [She/Gay]

Arma has recently been turned into an NPC for the story the next character is in but I still wanted to go over my poor traumatized transbian. Once, Arma was in love with a girl named Elspeth. They were from separate flocks, ones that had a centuries long grudge but she demanded their love be respected and it was at the very least tolerated. Traveling together with a group to gather resources for their peoples Elspeth was among the first few to be corrupted by The Shadow, a force that turned men into terrible monsters and seeked turning others mostly into things of beauty of objects.

Arma defeated the corrupted Elspeth but didn't kill her hoping she would return to normal one day. She joined The Watch a group of women set to fight The Shadow taking care of her own Talon of Soliders. Eventually leading to her facing off against Elspeth once again only now she was far more powerful, thinking she was totally lost she killed her only to find she was in fact still in there, knowing there was some way to heal her she had not thought of.

After that battle she was even more jaded defying orders to face the Shadow at it's source with her talon. Together they defeated it removing it's sway over their continent but refused a hero status becoming a wander after suddenly taking care of a baby.

Lethe Guardina [She/Her]

Born of the shadow and her mother Arma Lethe was always a strange girl. Her mother raised her to hide her true nature, her flame powers and her origins. Even she isn't sure how Lethe came to be or why, all she knows is she looks a whole lot like her now long dead girlfriend Elspeth. Lethe became a healer using her powers to heal "The Scared" from their shadows letting them go back and live life no longer monstrous and a threat to others.

With her two fellow healers at her side they are traveling the lands helping heal people one person at at a time. Yet, on their latest mission they had managed to heal someone only to let someone else escape and grow more powerful in the pull they had from the shadow. The trio are now licking their wounds at their own failure as they return to the city unknowingly getting wrapped into something bigger.

The key to the gate between worlds, Tiara Tamer knows her destiny is important yet firmly disagrees with her mothers approach to her destiny. Tiara is set to be wed to the number one player of Essentia: The Summoning in the world with her card and the Key's to her mother's company all gifted to that top player if they can manage to stay on top. Tiara cooked up a scheme with her best friend Ariana for them to take the number one spot. Yet, Ariana ended up betraying her when she became number one serving her mother as dutifully as the last number one.

Tiara heart broken clings to just a few sparks of joy left in her, her childhood best friend Bell and a new group she has been assigned to work with that seem like maybe, just maybe they won't be the same kind of users she dealt with her whole life. Still the card game playing Lesbian's willpower and confidence is faltering as she faces heart break after heart break.

The Vampire Witch Serena Owlnight was reanimated in a strange way unlike any vampire before her. She became a vampire after totally breaking the mind control of The Pure Lady [Remember her from Lena's info] having lived as her twisted Paladin for some time. The witch had lived with her adoptive mother Jillian Owlnight helping her with cases and living life as a chill flirty lesbian. Until when she was looking into some missing persons for someone and found a Pure Light outpost preparing to mind control a group of people. She fought to set them free but was captured after getting everyone else out. When she was set free by the party she returned to her mothers side only to eventually move with the rest of the party to help her best friends and girlfriend all of whom had decided to take up home with the parties.

Serena is looking to uncover what it means for her to be vampire all while Elder Vampires look to turn her into their own tool. This is all happening while she helps no the front lines of the revolution of her home land. She is a organizer for the anarchist movement across Dragonia and doing her best to make sure the labor forces in the revolution don't crumble. In secret she worries she is a danger to everyone around her due to the nature of her transformation and the trauma for being made to fight against her core Values for years under The Pure Ladies control.

Goddesses and men...and women

Buckle up guys...cause this meta’s going a lot of places. I’m a big Snyderverse fan, and one of the things I most like about it is the same thing I like about a lot of Zack Snyder’s work, including projects unrelated to DC like Watchmen and Suckerpunch, is the sense of grandiosity. The heroes have epic journeys and the scale of their power and feats of daring are awe-inspiring. The tone is always sincere and the concept of these characters having the potential to be mythic in their power is never presented as something inherently silly. This bothers me deep in my soul, and I just recently put my finger on precisely why.

There IS nothing silly about these stories. There’s also nothing silly about stakes involving the fate of all humanity and nothing silly about the concept of being with powers far beyond our own that don’t obey the laws of nature that bind us. To see the same people that don’t blink at stories about angels and demons, gods and goddesses and heroes like Odysseus, Hercules, Beowulf and Jason consider the genres that most heavily borrow from that iconography and those themes inherently silly is just absurd on its face. Where else besides fantasy, sci fi and superhero media, which is a blend of both, do you find a conflict like Satan (Lex Luthor) persecuting Job (Bruce Wayne) in order to get him to renounce God (Superman) and show God and the world that neither he nor his faith is all it’s cracked up to be? Where else do you find a story of a mortal man like Prince Endymion who falls in love with a space goddess, like the moon goddess Selene?

Well technically...here is one place you’ll find that, in Sailor Moon’s central romance with our protagonist Princess Serenity and her lover...the Earth prince Prince Endymion. Now here’s where I fell into the rabbit hole (and certainly resisted making a pun about Usagi Tsukino because I’m a mature adult.) My first ship, the first series that captivated me and sent me online to find other people that loved this thing I loved so much I couldn’t stop talking about it...it’s these two. And the thing I’m currently VERY enthralled with, particularly the central romance...why it’s a space princess with goddess-level power and...a human man she falls in love with.

Kory, princess of Tamaran, owner of a power so great it’s beyond our Earth technology’s ability to even measure, woman who can command the elements, fly in the sky and run right off with the heart of this bedazzled mortal. But wait...this is actually a thing ALL OVER THE PLACE in properties I’ve loved!

And no, Diana isn’t from space, but this goddess-like being IS from a magical land that’s entirely separate from the mortal world and impossible to be reached by normal means. And who is this person who has been her love for all these years captivating audiences? Why it’s Steve Trevor...mortal human man. And Wonder Woman 1984 that everyone swore they hated but watched anyway was about the struggle for this immortal woman to try to live without her mortal love and attempt in desperation to overrule the powers that be to keep him by her side. Certainly reminds me of the myth of Selene and Endymion where was made keeper of his own death so that he would not leave her in death until he was willing.

Honorary mention...Xena and Gabrielle. Sure, Xena is only technically not a goddess, but even at the start of the story her power rivals that of the gods and she DOES achieve godhood...and as the myth decrees, her love Gabrielle stays as human as the day she was born. 

Myth-making is what we do, and getting enthralled in the adventures of gods and mortals is something we’ve done as long as we’ve told stories of any kind.

THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD : PERSONA 5 VERSE.

tell me god, are you punishing me? is this the price i'm paying for my past mistakes? i need you more than ever right now. can you hear me now? the answer is no.

fighting evil by the moonlight and winning love by daylight ! known far and wide across the galaxy under the codename sailor moon, tsukino usagi was once your average, lazy, and ultimately ordinary middle school student...at least until a mysterious cat follows her home. it isn’t long after their fateful meeting that her life is forever changed when her persona, selene, finally awakens from within her out of usagi’s desire to protect her best friend, naru, from shadows during an attack in her mother’s jewelry store. once the girl was safe and sound, usagi learns that the cat is named luna who informs usagi that there are other girls just like her waiting to awake as a senshi. slowly but surely each girl is found until the team of nine become known as the sailor senshi among citizens of tokyo. 

the group were responsible for the destruction of many shadows that terrorized many of the cities districts in the late nineties, however, they were unprepared for their newest and greatest threat: shadow galactica. led by the destructive sailor galaxia, the sailor animamates ran amok across the galaxy, stealing the personas of other sailor senshi ( a process that ended the original host’s life ) before eventually setting their sights on earth. completely unequipped for such ruthless and calculating foes, usagi's friends lives are snatched away before her very eyes one by one. yet when finding herself almost at rock bottom, usagi finds that all is not lost like she thinks. through the help of a trio of senshi that had escaped to earth along with their princess, usagi learns of sagittarius zero star and the galaxy cauldron that waited beyond - as well as galaxia. 

there at the birthplace of all stars, she confronts the senshi of destruction in order to restore her friends and their battle ends when usagi delivers a fatal blow to galaxia’s chest. as the woman lays dying, it is then that usagi learns the truth: galaxia was ultimately just a puppet for the demiurge ( otherwise known as yaldabaoth ), a chaotic being who was feeding on the stolen personas in order to revive himself in the galaxy cauldron. in her desire ( or more accurately, desperation ) to avoid facing her fears of being alone, the girl makes a plea to the stars before throwing herself into the cauldron. as her faithful persona comes to her aide one last time, usagi commands the power of not only selene but the dormant personas inside of the cauldron to help defeat the demiurge and stop his impending rebirth. however, something else happens during this event as well. her persona begins to undergo a metamorphosis into its ultimate form as a reaction to usagi’s resolve which triggers a fusion with the dormant personas and usagi who is caught in-between. 

her body burns, her mind shatters, and her soul is torn asunder...all before she is neatly pieced back together again. she is reborn in the depths of the cauldron, something far more alien and foreign now as she emerges alive from the sea of stars. she is whole for the first time in her life. tsukino usagi is dead and the woman left behind is cosmos. soon declared missing and eventually presumed dead, her face has been forgotten under the countless other missing person signs during the twenty years she wanders the galaxy. despite the vast power she commands, she’s still searching, still hungry, for one single item: the universe arcana.

details of note:

1. while a fusion with a persona of a higher level typically causes the persona to posses the host, the sheer number of personas usagi fused with at once made it impossible for one to posses her. instead the process permanently changes her both physically and mentally ( ex. she grows taller, her hair turns permanently whiter/silver, personality change, becoming mentally unstable, etc. ). she doesn’t summon a persona as she has essentially became her ultimate persona, cosmos.

2. while initially represented by the empress arcana, her arcana becomes the hanged man after her ‘ascension’ / metaphorical rebirth: a card associated with self-sacrifice for the sake of enlightenment, the bindings that makes one free, paradoxes and hanging between heaven and earth.

3. her original costume as sailor moon was highly similar to her prototype design from the manga ( aside from the cape ). she originally wielded a colt 45 caliber pistol as her ranged weapon along with various staffs / rods for melee weapons. as an adult, she wields a rapier and a pump-action shotgun for melee and ranged attacks respectively. she is not a god despite her vast amount of powers which is why she highly desires the universe arcana, a card that allows the wielder reshape the universe. 

4. she is a mother in this verse as during the twenty years she was ‘missing’, she created and gave birth to a son named archisei. in her eyes, he is perfection and she’s grooming him to help her reshape the universe. although the reality is that he’s not perfect. far from it actually as 1). he’s created from her, someone that’s not right™ anymore and 2). he may or may not be another reincarnation of the demiurge, the same being that she once killed, as it has multiple forms / different methods of being reborn. she may or may not be aware of this but at this point, usagi’s mentally gone / locked away and the woman in her body doesn’t really care about such things.

5. her palace is highly similar to the palace / chapel found at the galaxy cauldron. each floor is immaculate and incredibly pristine while the shadows that roam its halls have the appearance of the servants and handmaidens who would attend to a queen. as one moves up each floor to reach her, that’s when things begin to warp / become increasingly chaotic to represents her state of mind: the clash between the girl she once was, the woman she currently is, and the goddess she desires to become.

this is a canon-divergent verse for persona 5. this verse is primarily based around events after the fifth game with details from other games in the series as well as the shin megami tensei series incorporated into it as well. in shin megami tensei nine, the gnostic goddess, sophia, gives birth to the demiurge and eventually helps the protagonist to defeat him after falling from grace. cosmos is the equivalent of a very corrupted sophia that not only doesn’t feel remorse for the birth / creation of her son but actively encourages him to embrace what he is so she can eventually get what she wants.  art credit: CASIMIR ART.

I was playing dislyte and was inspired for a crossover. In this AU Usagi, Rei, Ami and Makoto was reborn into the Dislyte universe instead of Canon after Silver millennium fall.

Minako, the lunar cats and the outer are looking for the missing planetary princesses as they crossed over to this universe. But none of them were ready or strong enough to fight the enemies and the evil espers of this universe. Their powers where nothing but splashed water against the blessed ones

But they were lucky. They were rescued by espers from the esper union. And they were taken there to heal and the espers wanted to learn more about the senshi powers. Minako was thankful and was star crushed by these amazing artist demigods. But the lunar cats and the ego wounded outers didn't trust the espers and acted respectless against them. But there was one who stand up against the outers and that was a young esper blessed by the power of Selene. This girl made the Lunar cats see it was none other then their missing princess. Princess Serenity or now Usagi Tsukino of esper union.

I choose Selene as Usagi's goddess blessing. She has controll over moonlight like Mona but can fire energy beams instead. She also has power over crystals so she has a big area in healing arts and boasting power.

Her prototype outfit is based after lolita, her princess outfit and her school outfit. Her weapon of choice is a chakram made of silver and decorated with silver and fuschia crystals. She became an esper when she was only 13 years old and now she is 17 years old.

In this world I can see Usagi as a famous food and fashion blogger.

I have a headcannon that Selene was kinda a dick, idc whatchu say
