I'm in the mood for a cozy read. Had an intense summer, and I've started back up with school, so I'm just trying to read something lighthearted. I plan to finish this series.

My September TBR, not including Discworld books 3 and 4 which I need to pick up from the library.
I need to reshelve one of these books as I also want to read the newly released, Before We Say Goodbye by Toshikazu Kawaguchi (translated by Geoffrey Trousellot) and I don’t think I’ll get to them all this month.
Which book do I remove?
I’m torn between The Dance Tree and Wild and Wicked Things.

September TBR
This year, I told myself that I wouldn't put more than three books on my TBR at a time. I haven't been able to achieve much this year so I don't want to try to push myself. I'm a bit anal retentive and have a specific order to help me move through them, but here are my three books that I hope and plan to read in September:
Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy #1) by Leigh Bardugo | Goodreads
I've actually just finished this book but at the very beginning of the month I was about 85% of the way through. I enjoyed the magic system, but was kind of confused by them. I was the largest fan of most of the characters but I didn't hate them by any means. I'll be writing a full review so watch out for that soon.
White Magic by Elissa Washuta | Goodreads
I have many reasons to read this book! One, I need to read so much more nonfiction if I plan to continue to write it. Two, I want to learn under this professor at my university. Three, some people I know said that it was amazing even though it covers very hard topics. I think I can learn and love these essays a lot.
Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass #4) | Goodreads
If I'm lucky, I'll continue to be able to this beautiful series in the month of September. I will not be able to finish the series by the end of the year unless I kick it into high gear, but I won't slow down (more than normal). We have so many things to look forward to, so I'm filled with dread and excitement equally.

September TBR--
Tumblr media
I have a pretty ambitious TBR given that my husband and I will be on vacation for almost half of the month. And working when we’re not on vacation. But I want to get into the Fall spirit and I’m hoping to do that with a few new releases, a backlist or two, and a couple rereads.
1. Built to Last by Erin Hahn (NetGalley)-- Former child star Shelby and her former co-star are thrown together for a home remodeling show and old feelings rush to the surface. “Sparks and sawdust fly as Shelby and Cameron film the pilot for ‘Homemade’.”
2. The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (New Release)-- This is the final book in The Inheritance Games trilogy. It’s no secret around these parts that I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ books so, of course, this one has been preordered for months. In book one, a regular girl’s life is turned upside-down when she discovers that a Texas billionaire has left her his fortune--disinheriting his own flesh and blood in order to do so. Avery and the Hawthorne grandchildren solve puzzle after puzzle to get to the heart of the mystery.
3. All of Our Demise by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman (New Release)-- Another finale. This one is the second book in the All of Us Villains duology. The first book was a combination of the Hunger Games, a Fantasy magic system, and Thriller. I don’t know that there’s a great way to talk about this one without giving up the plot for the first book. But this one continues where book 1 left off and our players all have choices to make, each with their own consequences.
4. Goblet of Fire.
5. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson-- This one is a reread for me. I think I’ll be reading it for the...fourth time? That cannot be right. This book is set at a private boarding school for gifted children and follows Stevie Bell as she attempts to solve an old mystery while mysterious things begin to happen at the school
6. The Secret History by Donna Tartt-- After I read ‘If We Were Villains’ last fall, I’ve gotten a handful of comments telling me to read this one for the dark academia vibes. I’m here for it. According to GoodReads, we follow a group of clever misfits at an elite New England college who--under the influence of their charismatic classics professor--discover new ways of thinking and living. This sounds exactly up my alley and perfect for the Fall.
7.  The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill (Kindle)--Another newish release (June). This one is set in a library where the tranquility is ruined by a violent scream. Everyone is told by security to stay where they are until the threat has been assessed. While they wait for the all-clear, four strangers at the same table pass the time by having conversations and getting to know each other better. It just happens that one of them is a murderer.

Books of 2022 - September TBR
Tumblr media
I'm trying to make sure I reread less this month so I'm giving myself a TBR. I might and probably will swap them as we go through the month but here's a vague idea of what I want to read.
Warhost of Vastmark by Janny Wurts
La Dame aux Camélias by Alexandre Dumas fils
The Children of Hurin by J.R.R. Tolkien
Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie (most likely to be swapped for Lord of Emperors by Guy Gavriel Kay)
The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley

The Hazel Wood • Book Review.
Hello People!!!! How are we doing? What is up with life? Is everything good? Good! Because I am about to turn it bad. Welcome to my hell hole! Quite literally! This review will be terrible and is a rant review so you might as well turn back right now if you don’t want to get angry and also if you don’t want spoilers. I am usually a No Spoiler person but this book forced me. So if you have decided…
