Note
I've been racking my brain the whole episode, and tried to look on internet,
But I can't find who's voicing the villain trio.
Where can I find the complete cast of YoHaji?
Ranmaru is voiced by Morikubo Shoutarou,
Tenmaru by Kanze Noriaki,
and Bonmaru by Katou Wataru
(this is the sort of thing that ought to be on the wiki but im human and prone to being tired and lazy 😔 but in the mean time myanimelist and animenewsnetwork are pretty comprehensive about VAs even though they might get some character names wrong)

Thomas Levin as 'Metrosexual Media Darling', Ulrik Mørch, in 'Borgen' (2010).
Bonus; him to this same lady literally five seconds later when it suits his career slightly. (it’s a mutual manipulation kinda situation)

Robin the scientist + Steddie +Stobin with 0 boundaries.
Robin has a weirdly temperamental gaydar. She can’t tell if a girl is gay, but for some reason she has the startling and unfounded understanding that Steve is totally not completely straight.
She has absolutely no evidence, but it’s just a sort of feeling that has become increasingly difficult to ignore.
Robin is nothing if not a scientist, not really, but she’s winging it.
She has her hypothesis, now time to test.
She tests him repeatedly, watching Top Gun nonstop and watching where Steve’s eyes lingered.
Her tests supported her hypothesis as Steve’s eyes lingered in all the wrong places for a fully heterosexual man.
And for the sake of comedy, she writes a full CER and lab report with data tables which tallied the amount Steve checked guys out and she writes notes on his reactions. Eventually, she goes far enough as to start timing his lusting gazes.
She wanted him to come to her, so she waited. The full lab report in her purse at all times just in case.
So, when Eddie and Steve disappeared into the Family Video staff room, Robin thoughtlessly opened the door to yell at Steve, just to find them making out.
They looked at her, frozen. She pulled out the lab report and pushed it into the closest hand, which happened to be Eddie. He wordlessly read the title.
“The Effect of Homosexual Materials on Steve Harrington.”
Eddie immediately lost his shit, crumpling to the floor as he laughed. Steve snatched the paper and paled when he read the title.
“What the fuck Robin?!” Steve squawked.
“I was testing my hypothesis.” Robin deadpanned, crossing her arms.
“Why? I’m not a goddamn Guinea pig!” Steve squealed, hands shaking.
“No, you’re a Gay-nea pig!” Robin sneered.
“You can’t do this!”
“I was right, wasn’t I?” Robin replied with a cocked hip.
“There’s a table for number of times and duration of me checking out Eddie!” Eddie loses his shit even further, face tense and red as tears began to gather in his eyes.
“And?” Robin questions which prompts Steve to smack himself on the forehead.

Radio Silence | Chapter Thirty-Two
Lando Norris x Amelia Brown (OFC)
Series Masterlist
Summary — Order is everything. Her habits aren’t quirks, they’re survival techniques. And only three people in the world have permission to touch her: Mom, Dad, Fernando.
Then Lando Norris happens.
One moment. One line crossed. No going back.
Warnings — Autistic!OFC, so much fluff, strong language
Notes — This is my favourite chapter so far. Out of all 32. It's also a long one, so grab a snack and send me your thoughts!
2023 (Belgium — Japan)
The light in Nice always felt soft, like it was passing through a filter of sea salt and old stone. The sun hadn't reached its full height yet, and the market was still in that gentle hum of mid-morning, not too busy, not too still. Just alive enough.
Lando walked half a step behind Amelia, letting her pace guide them through the maze of stalls and awnings. She wasn't a talker in the mornings, not really, and that suited him just fine.
She stopped at the long flower stand, fingers trailing over a bunch of pale yellow ranunculus. He didn't say anything, just watched her examine the petals with her usual precise sort of softness. Then, after a pause, she looked back at him and tilted her head slightly.
He reached into his back pocket, pulled out a crumpled bill, handed it to the vendor without a word. Amelia's lips curved just a bit.
Two stalls later, she passed him a tiny basket of sliced figs drizzled in honey. He didn't ask where she'd gotten it or how much it cost. He just took it and pressed a kiss to her temple, because of course she would know he was hungry before he even had a chance to say anything.
They moved like that; in orbit, but in sync.
At one point, a vendor selling lavender soap called out to them in a thick accent, something about being a "cute young couple." Lando smiled, striking up a polite conversational exchange. Amelia didn't say anything. After they passed the stall, she reached down and laced her fingers through his, without looking.
She didn't do that often — didn't like to be the one to initiate physical contact, especially in public.
He felt it in his heart every time she did.
They stopped near a stall selling fresh olive bread, and Amelia pulled out her phone, tapping something into her notes app. Lando leaned over.
"What's that?" he asked, voice low and warm.
"List of food I like," she murmured. "Reminding myself."
He nodded. She paused, then handed him the phone wordlessly. There were twenty-seven bullet points. He scrolled through them.
"You liked the brown seeded rolls yesterday too. With the chilli jam," he said. "I'll add that."
She didn't reply. Just looked at him for a long second, then blinked, slow and deliberate. That was the silent Amelia version of I love you — subtle, but unmistakable.
They wandered on.
At the end of the market, they sat at a chipped café table and shared a small tart filled with goat cheese and roasted tomato. Amelia leaned into his side without thinking, her head resting on his shoulder as she chewed, still watching the crowds drift by.
Lando let his hand fall into her lap and tangle gently in the fabric of her skirt. Hers moved to rest over his without needing to look.
They didn't speak much.
And that was the thing with them. It wasn't just that they loved each other — it was that they understood how the other one loved. In gestures. In silence. In half-smiles and shared fruit and shoulders leaned into shoulders in beautiful, morning-sleepy cities.
The MTC sim room was cool and quiet, lit by the blue glow of monitors and the soft hum of tech. Amelia stood with her arms folded, watching the data stream from Oscar's run, her expression intensely focused. She didn't speak until the run ended and the rig slowed to stillness.
"Turn 7's still sloppy," she said bluntly.
Oscar pulled off the headset and blinked at her. "Define 'sloppy.'"
"Four degrees too aggressive on throttle reapplication. You're losing rotation mid-corner, which is fine when tyre life doesn't matter, but it will in Spa." She passed him a tablet with the graph already up. "Look."
Oscar studied it. "You memorise this?"
"I don't memorise, per se. I just... know it." She paused. "I'm pattern-oriented. You keep breaking the pattern. It's very irritating."
Lando, seated cross-legged on the floor beside the second sim rig, laughed. "She's not wrong. You are driving like a goat on ice in that sector."
Oscar shot him a look. "You crashed in Miami trying to out-brake a Williams."
"Shut up, mate." Lando stood, brushing imaginary dust off his joggers. "Alright, my turn. Fix me, genius wife."
Amelia arched a brow. "You want feedback?"
"I'm asking for it, yeah."
"Good luck," Oscar muttered, climbing off the rig.
They traded places, and Amelia slid the headset onto Lando with surprising gentleness, muttering something under her breath that only he could hear. Whatever it was made him grin.
Lando's sim run was cleaner, smoother — but not perfect. He clipped a curb on Lap 3, losing the rear slightly. Amelia exhaled loudly through her nose.
"You always hit that curb," she said. "Every year. Just lift earlier."
"I'm trying. The curb keeps coming at me," he groaned, throwing her a grin through the screen.
"Don't be stupid," she shot back.
Oscar snorted. "She's brutal today."
"She's always brutal." Lando sighed. "But it's helpful, so..." he shrugged.
Eventually his run ended. Amelia crossed to his console and tapped a few notes in; suggested setup tweaks, minor aero preferences. Lando watched her hands work.
"You're so smart, baby. How do you do it, hm?"
She didn't look up. "I watch. I notice things. I write them down. Easy"
He smiled. "You're like a high-functioning racetrack AI."
Oscar added dryly, "That occasionally hits things when she's angry."
"That too," Lando agreed, with a lopsided smirk.
Amelia looked up at both of them, expression unreadable for a beat. Then she said, very softly, "You're idiots."
Oscar grinned. "That's a compliment from you."
Lando moved to nudge her shoulder, but she stepped out of reach — except not out of irritation, just anticipation. She knew exactly what was coming.
"You're going to try to gang up on me now," she stated.
Lando blinked. "Why would we—"
Oscar pounced first, grabbing her wrist and lightly jabbing at her side. "We would never," he said with mock innocence.
Amelia shrieked and jerked away, but Lando joined in, carefully — always mindful of her reactions, but not holding back so much that it felt patronising. His fingers found her ribs, tickling just enough to get her laughing — real, loud, unfiltered laughter.
"Stop! I hate this!" she wheezed, kicking at the air as she twisted out of reach.
"You're smiling," Oscar said.
"That's involuntary!" She yelped, breathless.
They finally relented, letting her drop onto the padded bench near the wall, still catching her breath. Her face was flushed, her hair askew, and she looked... radiant with happiness.
"Jerks," she muttered, but her voice was light.
"You love us," Lando said, crouching beside her.
"Only sometimes," she said flatly.
Behind them, just outside the glass-panelled door, Zak stood watching.
He hadn't meant to intrude. He'd only come by to drop off a briefing packet. But when he'd seen the three of them — his daughter, laughing and safe, surrounded by two young men who not only respected her mind but held her heart with equal reverence — he'd stayed where he was.
He didn't move. Didn't interrupt. Just watched for a little while longer.
Amelia, who'd grown up unsure of where she fit. Amelia, who used to hide in closets with puzzle books. Amelia, who didn't make friends easily but somehow had forged these bonds — raw, steady, honest — with Oscar and Lando. A best friend and a husband.
Zak blinked hard.
When Lando looked up a few minutes later and spotted him, he just gave a little nod. Not a word passed between them.
Zak nodded back and slipped away.
Inside the sim suite, Amelia stood again, brushing herself off.
"Back to work!"
Lando and Oscar groaned in unison.
"Fine," she said. "But if either of you miss apexes like that in Spa, I'll point and laugh at you on live television."
"You'd love that," Oscar said.
"She would," Lando added. "Humiliation. She likes embarrassing us."
Amelia just smirked, already queuing up the next run. "Well. I'm not ruling it out."
And as the next session loaded, the screen filling with the digital outline of the track, she brought her hand up to apply a heavy load of pressure to her hip.
Grounding. Safe.
Later, much later, the sim rigs had powered down for the night.
Amelia sat alone on the low bench, knees pulled up to her chest, arms wrapped around them. Not in discomfort; she wasn't overwhelmed. She was just... processing.
Oscar had ducked out a few minutes earlier, mumbling something about protein bars and his "cramped spine." Lando had promised to bring back coffee. That left her here, in the comfortable lull, with space to think.
Oscar.
It had taken her a while to really begin to understand Oscar Piastri on a personal level. He was quiet, like her. Dry, like chalk. Flat-voiced in a way that people often mistook for aloofness. But Amelia had recognised it immediately — that instinct for silence. The calm observation. The way he didn't try to fill air that didn't need filling.
He had become somewhat like a younger brother to her — not in the way people throw that phrase around when they mean someone's simply "less experienced," but in the very real, familial sense. She worried about him. Checked his telemetry obsessively. Snuck 'drink water/have a snack' notes into his strategy folder. Looked for signs of overwork in his eyes before every qualifying session.
And he, in the way Oscar was able, quietly looked after her too.
He never flinched at her directness. Never called her intense or difficult or cold when she snapped out instructions without pleasantries. In fact, he appreciated it. He understood that when she called something "icky," it wasn't a personal attack; it was an opportunity for precision.
After a race where she'd gotten particularly sharp with him over comms, he'd found her in the engineering room, dropped a packet of salted pretzels on her desk, and said, simply, "You were right. I just wasn't ready to hear it in the moment."
And that was all.
That was the kind of person Oscar was. He saw her and he didn't need to explain that he did.
And then there was Lando.
The loud to her quiet. The warmth to her ice. The one person on earth who could decipher her entire emotional state by the mere shape of her shoulders, or the angle of her fingers curled around a water bottle.
They were married now, still new enough to feel surreal when people called her "Mrs. Norris" in emails, but the foundation they stood on had been built long before the vows. He was the only person she could touch when her skin physically hurt from overstimulation. The only one who could joke with her during a meltdown and have it feel safe instead of cruel.
Lando understood her chaos. He never tried to change her, only to interpret.
Like when they were in the grocery store, and she couldn't bear the way the overhead lights buzzed, and he just... squeezed her hand once, without saying anything, and then diverted them to the sunglasses section and slid a funky pair onto her nose.
Or tonight, when she'd needed the sim session to be productive, and he'd let her lead, followed her notes, asked questions only when her tone said she was open to them.
And then — when she was finally starting to relax, he'd poked her ribs and made her laugh until she curled up on the floor.
Lando gave her a kind of emotional mirroring she'd never thought possible. Like her feelings were real and reflected, but never judged. He loved her not just in spite of who she was, but because of it. Bluntness, hyper-focus, sharp tongue, and all.
Very quickly, Lando and Oscar had become one of her safe zones.
One was home. The other had become family. Both made the world feel a little less jagged.
She rested her cheek against her knees and exhaled.
They didn't tiptoe around her needs. They didn't act like they were noble for understanding. They didn't talk about her like she was a puzzle or a pet project. They just treated her like Amelia; sharp, driven, autistic, brilliant, flawed, enough.
It was rare to feel seen. Rarer still to feel seen and protected.
The door eased open then, and Lando returned, holding two takeaway cups. He handed her one wordlessly, sat down beside her, and bumped her knee with his.
"Hey, baby. You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." Her voice was soft. "Just thinking."
"Dangerous."
She smiled. "I'm just feeling grateful, actually."
Lando tilted his head. "For?"
"You," she said simply. "Oscar. All of it."
He didn't tease her this time. Just leaned his head against hers for a second, warm and grounding.
"You're my person," he murmured. "My wife. My love."
She nodded. "I know." She whispered. "And you're mine."
Spa
The rain hadn't started yet, but it always smelled like it was about to in Spa. The mountains curled thick and green around the paddock, clouds hanging low. Amelia tugged her Quadrant hoodie sleeves over her hands and squinted at her tablet. Oscar's long run data looked steady, rear temps maybe a touch high, but manageable.
She heard the approach before she looked up. Soft-footed, deliberate. Someone in flats, not heels.
Oscar appeared first. Then, behind him, a woman with the exact same eyebrows and the same unbothered stillness in her eyes.
"Amelia," Oscar said, ever direct, "this is my mum."
Nicole Piastri smiled. warm and unfussy. "Nicole. It is so lovely to finally meet you."
Amelia didn't immediately move. Not because she didn't want to, but because her brain caught on the sudden shift in social rules; the expectation to greet, to be personable, to be human-shaped instead of work-shaped. She blinked once, then reflected the woman's smile as best as she could.
"Hi," she said. "Sorry. I was looking at tyre deltas. My brain's still... there."
Nicole just smiled. "Oscar warned me."
Amelia turned her head. Furrowed her brows. "Warned you?"
"He said you'd be brilliant but a bit intense. That I'd like you." Her tone was easy. No condescension, no forced warmth. Just observation.
Oscar folded his arms. "Didn't say 'a bit intense.' That was Mum's addition."
Nicole raised a brow. "You said she made a Ferrari engineer cry once."
Amelia blinked again. "He ignored my pit safety brief three times."
Nicole laughed, not unkindly, and that was the moment Amelia relaxed, just a fraction.
"I like your son," Amelia said simply.
"I'd hope so," Nicole replied. "You're guiding him."
Amelia nodded. "He listens. He understands things without needing them repeated. He's good."
Nicole gave her a look. "He's also stubborn and sometimes pretends he isn't tired when he absolutely is."
Oscar made a wounded sound. "Mum."
"True," Amelia said, folding her arms. "I've started watching for the eye-rubbing thing. It's his tell."
Nicole grinned. "Exactly."
There was a beat. A moment of quiet. Amelia stepped back slightly, giving herself a little more breathing room from the interaction. Nicole didn't follow, didn't press. She just let the silence exist.
That, more than anything, made Amelia feel at ease.
"You're welcome to come sit in for the long-run review," she said. "If you want."
Nicole's eyebrows lifted. "You'd let a driver's mum sit in?"
Amelia shrugged. "If it were any other mum, maybe not. But you raised Oscar. And he doesn't let nonsense slide. So I assume neither do you."
Nicole beamed, warm and wide. "You really are as blunt as he said."
Amelia nodded. "I'm autistic. Directness is safer for everyone."
Nicole, without missing a beat: "Well, I'm Australian. Directness is our native language."
Oscar looked between them, then shook his head with a half-smile. "This is going to be terrifying."
"Don't be dramatic," Amelia said, already turning back to her screen.
Nicole patted Oscar's shoulder, but her eyes lingered on Amelia with quiet gratitude.
She saw it.
Not just the brilliance, but the care.
And for a mother watching someone else guide her son at 300 km/h, that mattered more than anything.
It had rained sometime during the night — Amelia had heard it, soft and steady against the hotel room window, the kind of sound that settled right into soul and lulled her into deeper sleep. But now the world outside was damp and quiet, and inside, everything smelled like Lando: clean cotton, a little citrus, faint cologne lingering from yesterday's press outfits.
She was already awake. Always woke up earlier on race days.
Propped against the headboard, hair still messy from sleep, she had her iPad balanced on her knees — telemetry overlays already pulled up from FP3, tyre strategy notes highlighted in orange and blue.
The bed shifted as Lando stirred beside her.
"Mm... it's so early," he mumbled, voice rough and slow. "Why are you working already?"
"I'm not working," she replied, glancing down at him without shifting her hands. "I'm just reviewing."
He cracked one eye open. "That's working."
"I'm not writing anything new," she said. "I'm checking the data I already have. That can't be classed as work."
Lando groaned dramatically and rolled onto his side to face her. One arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her back down into the pillows, iPad and all.
She made a small protesting noise, stiff in the unfamiliar position, but didn't push away.
"You're not a robot," he murmured against her shoulder. "You're allowed to spend your morning being sleepy and stupid—like me."
"I know," she said. Bbut being still had always been difficult. There was always something to check, a variable to account for. "But I always feel better when I've gone over it one extra time."
He was quiet for a moment. Just breathing. Then he kissed the bare slope of her shoulder, soft and deliberate.
"Alright," he whispered. "One more time. And then you let it go for an hour. Just long enough to have breakfast. With me."
She didn't answer straight away. He felt her fingers tap lightly against the back of his hand — the same rhythm he'd learned years ago. The one that meant she was thinking. Processing.
Then, finally, she turned her head and nudged his forehead with hers.
"Okay," she said. "One hour."
He smiled, satisfied.
They stayed like that for a while. Her eyes flicking between data points. His thumb tracing lazy circles against her hip beneath the blanket. They didn't need to speak — didn't need to fill the air with reassurance. That was the magic of it, really. They understood each other in silences too.
Eventually, Amelia closed the iPad with a decisive click.
"Tyre data's solid," she said quietly. "Oscar'll be fine. Track temps are stable. We're good."
Lando pressed a kiss just beneath her ear. "You always say that. And you're always right."
"I'm not always right," she replied, voice flat but self-aware. "But I am today."
He laughed and leaned up on one elbow, eyes crinkling. "God, I love it when you sound like that."
"Like what?"
"Like you believe that we're going to win."
She blinked, then tilted her head a little. "You are going to win. Or close to it. I can feel it."
"Feel it, huh?"
"Yes. Based on my extensive logic and my faith in both of you."
"That's a dangerous combo." He grinned, then leaned down to kiss her — soft, not rushed. The kind of kiss people only share when they've been through everything together and still feel like choosing each other again in the quiet moments.
When he pulled back, her hand was resting lightly against his jaw.
"You good?" he asked. "Like... really good? For today?"
She thought about it. Then nodded. "Yeah. I'm regulated. My head's clear."
He smiled at that — the way she named her emotional state like an engineer running diagnostics. He loved that about her. Loved that she'd learned to say it, and that she trusted him with the truth.
"Then let's go race," he whispered, forehead pressed to hers.
And for a few more seconds, they just breathed, tangled together in a warm, sleepy cocoon, before the noise and chaos of race day swept them back into the world.
But for now, in this tiny window of stillness, they had each other.
— The air was heavy. Dense with mist, thick with tension, and wet enough that Amelia had already pre-loaded five different strategy trees before the lights went out.
Oscar had out-qualified Lando again.
She was laser-focused on Turn 1. Always Turn 1. Always La Source.
Amelia's fingers hovered over her tablet. Not touching—just tapping in the air beside it in a rhythm: four slow, one sharp. Then again. And again.
She didn't have to think as she walked Oscar through the formation lap. It came to naturally now, like a dance you couldn't forget.
Lights out.
"Oscar launch good," came one of the spotters in her ear.
She blinked. Tracked the orange blur to the inside line.
Then a flash of red, Sainz's Ferrari. sweeping across far too aggressively.
The sound in her headset crackled with team chatter, voices overlapping. She tuned most of them out and locked in on Oscar's feed just in time to see his onboard camera jolt. Not a bump. A collision.
The screen stuttered. Then black.
"Yellow flag. Incident Turn 1. Piastri, Sainz. Debris."
Amelia didn't speak.
"Amelia?" It was one of the performance engineers. "Oscar's saying steering is compromised. Damage right side—maybe suspension."
Still, she didn't speak. She tapped once against her palm. Hard. Her throat clenched. The pads of her fingers tingled like they did when she short-circuited.
She hit the comms.
"Oscar. Talk to me."
"Yeah—um—something's broken. I can't turn right properly. Think it's done."
And it was. Less than a lap.
She closed her eyes, just for a second, trying not to fall into the spiral. Not here. Not now. There was a job to do, Lando was still out there, but Oscar was her driver. Her ducky. He trusted her implicitly. And now, for no fault of his own, he was crawling back to the garage with a wounded car and nothing to show for it.
The red mist tried to rise in her chest—anger first. Not at Oscar. Not even really at Carlos. Just at the sheer waste of it. The injustice. The gut-punch of preparation ruined by recklessness. The voice in her head hissed, He finished the sprint in P2 yesterday. He deserved better than this.
She pulled her noise-cancelling headset tighter. The extra pressure helped, grounding her in physical sensation. She curled her toes in her shoes and focused on her breath.
Lando's voice broke through on the other channel, calm despite the chaos.
"Hey—did Oscar retire?"
Will gestured for her to respond.
"Yeah," she said, quietly. Then louder, "Yes. First corner damage. Focus up."
"Copy." A pause. Then softer, "That sucks."
It did. It sucked.
But Amelia didn't get to crumble, even though every part of her was fraying. She was still on the pit wall. Still working. Still leading.
Oscar's car was pushed back into the garage. She caught sight of him from across the paddock—helmet off, jaw clenched, walking quickly past the media scrum with his shoulders stiff. She didn't call him over. Not yet. He needed a minute. So did she.
By the time Lando crossed the line in P7, she was steady again. Not okay. But functioning.
Oscar was sitting on a flight case, race suit peeled to his waist, water bottle tucked under one knee. Amelia sat beside him without asking.
"You alright?" She asked.
He gave a dry laugh. "I made it fifty seconds. New record."
She didn't try to make him feel better. That wasn't her way. Instead, she said, "You made the right decision boxing the car immediately instead of dragging a damaged car around the track. Steering arm was shattered. You did everything right."
He nodded, but his mouth was tight.
She nudged her elbow against his.
"Still proud of you," she said.
He finally looked at her. "Even after I didn't finish a lap?"
"Especially then," she replied. "You stayed calm. You brought it back safe. You're my driver, Oscar. One racing incident that ends badly for us doesn't erase that."
His eyes softened, just a little. "You're getting sappy."
She rolled her eyes. "No I'm not. I don't even know what that means."
That made him laugh, a small honest noise, and she counted that as a win.
They had a brief respite in Monaco before heading to Zandvoort.
They looked at a few apartments. Didn't like any of them.
When they arrived at Max's place for dinner on the Wednesday, he took one look at their downtrodden expressions and laughed. "It is always more difficult the second time."
Zandvoort
The race at Zandvoort was marked by unpredictable weather. Lando finished P7, while Oscar managed to finish just inside of the points — P9.
Amelia saw it all unfold from the pit wall, her eyes scanning the monitors. The intermittent rain was a nightmare.
After the race, she found Lando in the garage, reviewing data.
"You did well," she commented.
He looked up, surprised. "Yeah?"
She nodded. "You adapted to the conditions very well."
He cracked a smile, pulling her into a brief embrace. "Thanks, baby."
That night, as they lay in bed, the sound of rain tapping against the window, Amelia whispered, "I'm really, really happy, Lando."
Lando tightened his hold on her.
They escaped to Lake Como for a short break between race weekends.
On the first morning of their mini vacation, they took a boat out onto the lake. Amelia sat at the bow, the wind tousling her hair.
"This place is so beautiful," she said. "Everything looks like something you'd see in a movie. Or on Pinterest."
Lando was steering the boat. He glanced at her and nodded toward his disposable camera, "Take some pictures, baby."
She picked it up and brought it up to her eye, squinting through the mini viewfinder.
He watched her fondly.
Monza
At Monza, Lando finished P8.
Things didn't go so well for Oscar.
Amelia let her head fall into her hands as the confirmation of the penalty came from the FIA.
"Shit," she muttered.
Her dad gave her a sympathetic grimace.
Japan
Amelia's fingers were a blur. Tip of her pen flicking rapidly against the plastic corner of the radio console. Three taps, pause. Three taps, pause. She hadn't even noticed the motion — her go-to stim when her body couldn't contain everything pressing up behind her ribcage.
Oscar was crossing the line. P2. Behind Max, of course; but ahead of Charles, ahead of Lewis.
And Lando... Lando was P3.
"Piastri, across the line — that's P2! Double podium for McLaren!"
The garage exploded; engineers leaping into the air, radios dropped, shoulders clapped, bodies turned into celebratory chaos.
But Amelia stayed locked in her seat at the pit wall, still staring at the screen, her breath stuck like static in her chest.
She couldn't move. Not yet.
Oscar's voice cracked through her headset, just the barest edge of disbelief in his normally even tone.
"Holy shit. Amelia. We did it."
She exhaled sharply, finally, a sound like relief and triumph tangled together.
"You drove it," she said, her voice clipped but shaking. "You followed every direction. Managed the tyres well in every stint. Well done, ducky."
"Wouldn't have got here without your mad plans." He was laughing, light and breathless. "Tell me I wasn't hallucinating this whole race."
"You weren't," she said, and suddenly her throat closed up, emotion catching on the edges of her usually flat tone. "This is real."
Will's hand landed on her shoulder, not jarring, just grounding, and she blinked up at him, eyes wide and wet.
"You can go," he said softly. "Garage's already heading to parc fermé."
She stood on instinct, legs shaky. Her hands were flapping now — the stim automatic, rapid-firing like her brain needed somewhere to put the excess. Pride, relief, noise, lights — it was too much. And it was perfect.
The second she caught sight of them — Lando and Oscar, helmets off, both laughing like kids who'd just stolen something valuable, it hit her like a gut-punch of joy.
They'd done it. Both of them. Her husband. Her driver.
Oscar caught her first, jogging toward her as the crowd swelled behind the fences.
She barely got a word out before he threw his arms around her.
It wasn't their usual style; they weren't overly physical, weren't the sentimental type. But she folded into it with a small, shocked laugh, her hands fluttering uselessly against his back.
"You really are mine now," she mumbled into his shoulder. "I'm not letting anyone else engineer you ever again."
Oscar pulled back with a crooked grin. "No complaints here."
And then she saw him.
Lando, weaving through the throng, his eyes locked on hers even before she noticed he was moving.
He reached her in four long strides and didn't say a word — just pulled her in, full-body, sweaty, burning fuel smell and all. His arms wrapped around her waist, grounding, safe. "You did this," he whispered into her ear. "You did this."
She shook her head, face pressed to his shoulder. "No. You and Oscar. You drove so, so well."
His hand was in her hair now, warm against her scalp. "You made the car better. You kept Oscar calm. You brought us here. You're the one who held it all together."
And suddenly, she couldn't stop the tears.
Not loud or dramatic — just silent, uncontainable release. Her body started rocking a little, barely perceptible — a comfort motion, side to side, tiny and rhythmic. She pressed her face harder into Lando's shoulder, hiding it the way she always did when the emotions got too big.
Overwhelmed. Elated. So proud she could barely breathe.
Lando didn't flinch. He just held her tighter and whispered, "I've got you, baby. It's okay."
Oscar was still hovering nearby, giving her space now, but watching with a half-smile, the kind that said he understood. And in a small way, he did.
Because Oscar had learned her tells. Her voice drops when she's overstimulated. Her stimming when she's overwhelmed. Her flinch when unexpected noise hits too hard. And still, he trusted her implicitly. Trusted her to guide him through a Grand Prix like Spa, where one mistake could end everything.
And now they were here.
P2. P3.
Double podium.
Amelia finally looked up, eyes shining, flapping her hands once more to bleed off the weight. Lando caught one, laced their fingers, and kissed the back of it without a word.
Zak was there too — in the background, watching. And for a moment, he didn't see his driver or his race engineer or the numbers on the screen.
He saw his daughter, overwhelmed but alight with joy, held safely between two young men who'd become her fiercest allies. Her husband, her teammate, her family.
He smiled to himself. He didn't say a word.
She didn't need him to.
The post-race buzz was elevated. Team shirts were drenched in champagne, and the McLaren hospitality tent was buzzing with an electric excitement.
Amelia didn't usually do broadcast interviews, that was more Lando's territory. But this time, after this race — a double podium, both drivers flawless, Sky had requested her by name.
The paddock mic stand felt too tall. She adjusted it twice.
"Amelia Norris," the reporter began brightly, mic held between them. "First of all, congratulations. Double podium for McLaren — Lando second, Oscar third — how are you feeling right now?"
Amelia blinked. Twice. She hadn't stopped moving since the chequered flag. Still hadn't properly eaten. Still had telemetry fragments dancing in her brain. She opened her mouth, paused, and then nodded slowly.
"I feel... good," she said honestly, voice low and a little clipped. "A bit overwhelmed. But proud. They both drove amazingly today. Especially Oscar. He nailed every brief."
There was something endearing about her calmness — like she was one breath away from shutting the whole operation down to explain exactly how Oscar had maximised delta windows through Sector 2.
The interviewer smiled. "And fans have been picking up on your dynamic with Oscar, especially from the radio. You called him 'Ducky' today — again. Can you talk us through that? Where did the nickname come from?"
Amelia blinked again, then huffed, not irritated, just... caught slightly off guard.
"I give people nicknames when I trust them," she said simply. "'Oscar' is what everyone calls him. 'Ducky' is mine."
There was a beat of silence, the reporter briefly stunned by the directness. But it wasn't defensive or awkward — just the truth, laid bare like everything Amelia said.
"Well, it's clearly working," the reporter recovered, grinning. "Because his defending against Perez and Charles today was phenomenal."
"Yes," Amelia said. "Because we planned for it. He did exactly what I asked of him."
"Did you expect a podium today?"
"I expect possibility," she said, quick. "Expectations are dangerous. But the data said we could be there. And then Oscar delivered on it. So did Lando. That's why I build cars. That's why I stay up all night running simulations. For this."
Her hands moved a little as she spoke — stimming subtly, thumb flicking against her palm. But her voice was steady.
"Would you call this the best day of your season so far?" The interviewer asked, lowering the mic slightly.
Amelia took a breath. Looked out toward the pit wall, where orange and black were still gathered like a tide of fire. Lando was being hauled in a bear hug by one of the engineers. Oscar was still helmeted, leaning back against the barrier and grinning in that quiet way he always did when something mattered to him.
Then she turned back to the camera, deadpan:
"Yes," she said. "But I plan to beat it."
The interviewer laughed. "Love it. Thank you, Amelia. Congratulations again. And give our best to Oscar and Lando."
She cracked a tiny smile, adjusted her headset, and turned back toward the garage, already thinking about what she'd tweak for Quatar.
They were supposed to be taking a break from apartment hunting.
It was a quiet, post-race Monday. The heat was clinging to the Côte d'Azur like a second skin.
And sure, their little two-bedroom near the Port had started to feel a touch claustrophobic. Not because it wasn't nice — it was. It had been their first proper home. But between Lando's racing gear, Amelia's engineering schematics, and the six different pairs of shoes he was tripping over daily, the place was bursting at the seams.
Still, they weren't in a rush.
Until Lando had said, offhandedly over breakfast, "Should we just go see that listing from yesterday? The one with the big balcony and the weird layout?"
She had blinked, then nodded. "I did like that one."
"And?"
"Okay. Sure. Let's go."
So they did.
They ended up viewing three places that day. One was too sterile, the kind of cold marble and glass aesthetic that made Amelia feel like she'd been dropped inside a very expensive hospital. Another had a stunning view, but a persistent echo in the living room that made her skin crawl. It was the kind of sound most people didn't even notice. Lando did — but only because he noticed her the second she tensed up.
Then came the last one.
The agent had apologised in advance. "It's a bit... odd," he'd warned, as they stepped into the building.
Amelia, eyes scanning the corridor, shrugged. "So are we."
Lando grinned.
The apartment was on the top floor — a penthouse. A strange little split-level with slanted ceilings and sun that pooled in lazy patches across the wood floors. Amelia felt it first — not a lightning bolt, but a quiet hum under her ribs. She wandered through the kitchen, into the living room, and paused.
There was a swing.
A proper sensory swing — heavy canvas, anchored securely into a ceiling beam. It was suspended just off the floor in the corner of what looked like a reading nook, draped in soft light from a low window.
Lando stopped just behind her.
"Oh," he said, voice going quiet.
Amelia didn't speak. She walked straight to it, ran her fingers along the reinforced ropes, then sat down slowly. She shifted, testing the weight, and the swing gently curved to cradle her. The instant pressure across her hips and lower back was like flipping a switch in her chest — her breathing slowed, the tension in her shoulders eased.
It felt like being held.
Lando crouched in front of her, hands braced on his knees. "You like it?"
She nodded once. "It's perfect."
He didn't need to ask why. He already knew.
Amelia rarely explained her sensory profile to anyone. But Lando had learned it like a second language — not because she asked him to, but because he wanted to. He knew the way certain fabrics made her retreat, how sharp noises cut through her thoughts like glass. He knew the difference between her shutting down and zoning out. And more than anything, he knew what it meant when she found something that made her feel safe.
He tapped the side of the swing gently. "We could put a second one on the balcony. So you can stargaze."
She blinked. "You sound like you've already decided that we're moving in?"
"You decided," he said, standing up and offering her his hand. "You just didn't say it yet."
She took his hand. He pulled her up slowly, kissed her temple, and added with a smile, "You did say you liked this one."
They got home late. Amelia lay on the sofa, bare feet tucked under a throw blanket, Lando stretched out with his head in her lap. Her iPad was open beside her, a checklist of questions about the new apartment left half-ticked. But neither of them were talking.
They didn't need to.
Amelia was stimming softly, tapping the curve of Lando's shoulder in a light rhythmic pattern. He hummed when she changed tempo, like he could feel her thoughts moving.
"It felt right," she said, finally.
"I know."
"I don't mean just the swing. The light. The acoustics. Even the flooring. It was all right."
"I noticed," he murmured. "Your hands didn't twitch once while we were there."
She was quiet for a moment. Then she said, "It felt like it was built for me. Which is statistically improbable. But still."
"Maybe it was waiting."
She looked down at him. "Places don't wait, Lando. They're inanimate structures."
"But what if this one did?" He said, eyes half-lidded. "What if someone built it weird on purpose so that one day a very particular girl with a very particular brain would walk in and go oh, this feels like home?"
Amelia blinked. Her mouth twitched. "That's not how architecture works."
"It's how love works, though."
She blinked again, slower this time. Then leaned down and kissed the side of his head.
When she pulled back, she whispered, "Let's make it ours."

𝜗𝜚 THEME: fluff, established relationship 𝜗𝜚 PAIRING: (architect)student!mingyu x fem!reader 𝜗𝜚 WORD COUNT: 980
SYNOPSIS: if there's one thing mingyu finds incredibly sexy, it's intelligence
Tumblr media
“i give up.”
that was honestly the last thing you’d ever expect to hear from your boyfriend. kim mingyu never gave up, and even if - it wasn’t everyday that his ego allowed him to admit to failure.
confused, you looked up from your computer to see what finally managed to defeat him, just to be met with a very pouty, and a very annoyed boyfriend looking at the screen of his own computer, like he had some personal vendetta against it.
you quickly covered your mouth with your hand to hide the smile forming on your face. you didn’t need mingyu to think you were making fun of him. “weren’t you supposed to work on your exam project?” you asked, doing your best not to burst out laughing. there was just something about that hunk of a six foot two man with killer biceps who was sitting opposite you, and pouting like a five year old that made you cackle.
“yes, but i have to use a spreadsheet or whatever to sort out some of the information, and,” he sighed, “i have no idea how to use it.”
with a loud bang, mingyu’s forehead met the table, which would definitely leave a small bump he’d make you kiss better later. huh, so he really gave up.
“i don’t think i understand,” you crooked your head at him, pushing yours and his computers away, so you could lean over and place your hand at the nape of his neck. “kim mingyu, one of the best future architects, doesn't know how to use a spreadsheet?” your boyfriend was smart smart, there was no way he didn’t know a couple of formulas to sort out the data.
mingyu groaned loudly, and shook your hand off his neck. “don’t make fun of me baby,” with a whine, he lifted up his head, revealing big shiny puppy eyes, which were practically begging for your help. “as you said, i’m an architect, not a computer science guy!” he exclaimed, his lips turning more and more pouty with each word.
for a person that loved to make fun of coups and his pout, it didn’t seem like mingyu realised how big of a pouty baby he was himself.
“i don’t think you need to study computer science to know how to use a spreadsheet, gyu,” you said, and ran your thumb over his jutted out lip. “besides, you study maths and physics, shouldn’t you know how to use this kind of stuff?”
“if this is your way of making me feel better it’s not working,” mingyu huffed, grabbing your hand in his. “and i really need to figure this out, but i have no idea how. i tried watching tutorials, but i still don’t get it. like, the more i try to understand it the less sense it actually makes,” his breath ghosted your knuckles, as his lips moved against your fingers.  “please tell me you’re an undercover tech guru, so you can do this for me. ”
you gave mingyu’s hand a little squeeze, and took his computer with your free hand, sliding it over to your side of the table.
“what are you doing?” he asked, confusion lacing his voice.
you shook your head in amusement, and squeezed his hand once again, as you transferred all of the necessary data into a new, empty spreadsheet. “i may not be a tech guru as you called it, but it’s a good thing you have a super smart girlfriend,” you murmured, focused on the screen, “that knows the basics of how to use a spreadsheet.”
you didn't have to look at mingyu to know that his eyes were wide and his mouth open in bewilderment - but it wasn't your fault - it's not like you ever had the opportunity to show off your skills before. besides, mingyu was so in love with you and he was so down bad that you didn't have to do anything special to make him look at you like you just invented a new element.
“it’s really not that hard, you just have to,” the quiet noise of you typing filled your living room for a moment, “you have to know which formals to use.”
mingyu couldn’t tear his eyes off you. how in the world did he manage to bag a girl that was not only insanely beautiful, but also smart as hell? though he couldn’t see what exactly you were doing (not that he cared about that, he wouldn’t understand any of it anyway), mingyu was sure you were doing magic with those damn spreadsheets.
“here,” you said with a proud smile a short while later, “is this what you were meant to do?” you turned the computer around for him to see the, yes - perfectly sorted data, just like his professor wanted them to be.
“you are so fucking hot.”
mingyu couldn’t help himself. he loved acting like he was the smartest in the room, but holy shit - his girlfriend was a genius, and he’d act all dumb just to have her fill out his spreadsheets.
“you are literally the most amazing thing ever, baby,” mingyu breathed, still looking at you with disbelief. “so so smart, and so so mine.”
you snickered, and threw a rolled up napkin at him. “calm down, gyu. that was nothing, seriously.”
“nothing?!” he exclaimed, offended. “nothing, you say? so why was i struggling with it for the past hours?”
“if you paid more attention in class i’m sure you’d manage perfectly on your own,” you said, suddenly shy under his stare. the lovesick look was truly overwhelming. “now, will i get something in return?”
mingyu's expression suddenly seemed to change from pure surprise and admiration to something that pretty much resembled smugness. “what do you have in mind, princess?” he asked, crooking his head at you.
you smiled and pointed your finger at your lips.

Too Far? (Just Enough) {Sakura Haruka x Reader}
Teasing Haruka leads to you needing to 'take care' of a very embarrassing 'problem' you accidentally caused...
Minors Do Not Interact, written with aged-up haruka in mind, smut, handjob, semi-public sex (locked restroom), praise kink, subby haruka, established relationship, gender neutral reader (no gendered words or any anatomy at all mentioned). word count: 2200 | Ao3 version
Tumblr media
You were addicted to the sight of Haruka’s blush.
Every time your boyfriend flushed a shade of rose, you felt it go straight to your head, like a sugar rush. It was the best feeling; especially if it was you who was the cause of that sweet blush.
So, you liked to tease him. Never in a harsh way. You weren’t cruel. But sometimes you got just a little too close to him…touched him a little too intimately for public…praised him a little too much…just so you could get your dose of his embarrassed expression and strawberry flush.
It never went much farther than that, however. You knew Haruka needed to be handled gently; he wasn’t breakable, maybe, but he deserved the soft treatment he never had before. So, you didn’t push it. You pulled away before the embarrassment turned to shame and anger. You showed him love in other ways, quieter ways, ways that were easier for his affection-starved body to stomach. The teasing was just a sort of…seasoning, a bit of flavor you allowed yourself to sneak into your meal (him).
You didn’t think it would escalate like this.
(But you weren’t complaining.)
Pothos was filled to the brim with rowdy gang members, your boyfriend among them. It took some maneuvering (and some well-placed elbows) to make your way to him, but it was worth it to nestle into the cramped booth with him.
Tsuguera greeted you with a strong slap to the back that made you wince. Thankfully, Suo and Nirei greeted you verbally. Haruka only let out a grunt, before subtly linking his pinky with yours beneath the table.
“You guys celebrating?” you asked, once you were settled.
“Nothing big,” Suo said with a serene smile. “Just another fight won.”
Your eyes automatically drifted towards Nirei, who was just waiting for the slightest sliver of interest to be shown so he could recount the fight in question. Your inquisitive look was enough to break the floodgates. You couldn’t keep up with all of his enthusiastic babble (few could), but you understood the basics.
“Aren’t you sweet?” you cooed, turning to your boyfriend.
“Huh?!”
“Stepping in to help those girls like that. Starting this whole big fight just to protect them.”
Haruka was already getting the lightest dusting of pink across his cheekbones. He tried to avoid your eyes by looking down, but you dropped your head down to meet his gaze. You would allow yourself to play with him. Just a little bit, as a treat.
“Y’know what,” you murmured, eyes wide and locked onto his, “You’re such a good boy, Haru.”
He went up in flames. It was like he had just ingested a ghost pepper, whole, and was having a full-body reaction to the capsaicin. You barely had a second to admire the fruits of your labor before he let out a screech that sounded vaguely like “IGOTTAPISS—," leapt over your lap, and booked it to the bathroom.
You sat, frozen, staring at Nirei and Suo, who were also similarly shocked.
“What did you say to him?” Suo asked, a touch of humor in his voice. “I haven’t seen him react that way…ever, I think. It was quite impressive, actually.”
Nirei pulled a notebook from his jacket and thumbed through it, like he was double-checking his data. “I don’t think he’s ever been that embarrassed before.”
You started to feel a trickle of guilt slither down your throat. It was just meant to be a bit of fun, a little teasing. You didn’t expect Haruka to react this badly to a little pet name, but you’ve clearly miscalculated. Maybe it hit a nerve you didn’t know was exposed, or maybe it was just a little too much for a busy restaurant full of his friends. Either way, you had made a misstep, and now you would have to deal with the consequences.
“I’m going to go check on him,” you announced, giving the other two men an apologetic grimace. Nirei waved you off, while Suo gave you a head nod punctuated by his typical mysterious smile.
The men’s bathroom, a single stall, was tucked further into the back of the restaurant, away from most of the main noise. You knocked at the door, ready to sweet-talk your boyfriend into letting you in, but the door creaked open on its own. He must’ve been in such a state he didn’t even bother to close it properly, you thought, frowning to yourself.
You slipped inside, making sure to close and lock the door behind you before you turned.
You weren’t quite sure what you expected. But it certainly wasn’t the sight you were greeted with.
Haruka had just noticed your entrance, and he stood, frozen. Both of his hands were gripping the edge of the sink counter, his knuckles white. His face and bangs were damp; probably from splashing water on his face to cool down. But the most shocking thing was the obvious bulge of an erection pressing against the zipper of his tight jeans.
You gaped at him. Your brain was lagging like an old windows program (the sight of Haruka’s arousal had definitely been a shock to the system), but with a moment to process, you finally understood what happened.
“Did you get hard when I called you a good boy?”
He let out a bitten-back whimper. He was grasping the counter so hard you swore you could hear it crack under the pressure. “Stop teasing me,” he said, trying to project anger into his voice to cover up the underlying whine.
“Hey,” you said, placatingly. “I’m not trying to make fun of you. I wouldn’t do that.”
Haruka blinked at you. He still looked so vulnerable; more so than he ever had in a fight. You felt like you were in a fight…at the very least, it felt like the stakes were just as high. Your sweet boyfriend looked like he was one wrong word slipping from your mouth away from shattering. You needed to be gentle with him. Careful.
You started to move towards him, slowly. “In fact…I think that,” you nodded towards the tent in his pants. “Is pretty hot, actually.”
He didn’t answer, but you can see the blush on his face deepen. He’s still self-conscious, however, bringing both hands down in an attempt to protect what little modesty he might have left.
You let him, for now, choosing instead to grip his chin between your fingers so you could tilt him into a slow, sensual kiss. You were holding yourself back from devouring him, but even at your leashed pace he let out the prettiest sounding mewls into your mouth. He slowly relaxed into your kisses, hands drifting naturally from his crotch to tangle themselves in your shirt. You continued to indulge him, licking deeper into his mouth, chasing all of his sweet noises. Eventually, you had to let him breathe properly, but you made sure to run your tongue over his teeth in the way you knew made him shudder first.
You gave him a second to catch his breath, and recover, before asking, “Do you want me to help you, baby?”
Haruka was too flustered to speak, but he gave you the tiniest nod, unable to meet your eyes.
“Good boy,” you breathed. “I’ll make you feel so good.”
The sound of you pulling down his zipper echoed through the bathroom. Haruka's blunt nails scratched against the counter at the sound. You gave him a few soft pecks along his jaw to distract him, before slipping your hand into his underwear.
His cock was positively dripping when you pulled it out. The head was flushed red, fading down into pink near where the root of his dick was concealed by the bush of his black-and-white pubes. You rubbed your thumb across his slit, coaxing more precum out of his tip as he let out a high-pitched whine.
You raised your gaze, so you could see the both of you in the mirror. Haruka was cherry-red now, his eyes squeezed tightly shut in both embarrassment and arousal. His sharp canines were digging into his lips, nearly drawing blood as he unsuccessfully tried to bite back the lewd noises he was making. You couldn't see the reflection of his cock from this angle, but you could see the muscles in his forearms flex as he gripped the counter edge. You could see the subtle movements in your own arm, wrapped around his body and leisurely jerking his cock. You met your own eyes in the mirror, which were glinting with delight and lust.
"So perfect, Haru," you purred into his rosy ear.
He let out a whimpering cry, hips jerking forward into your grip unconsciously. You licked a stripe up his neck, nibbling at the lobe of his ear. Where your chest was pressed against his back, you could feel his shuddering, broken breathing as you pleasure him; you could almost feel the quickening beat of his heart.
Suddenly, you got an idea. Your self-indulgent actions already led you here, giving your boyfriend a handjob in a public restroom, so what was a little bit more teasing?
"Haruka," you cooed. "Open your eyes for me, baby."
It took him a moment, but he was nothing if not your good boy. You watched as his dual-colored eyes fought to flutter open, endeavors nearly thwarted by both his natural instinct to let them slide shut in pleasure and the wetness that clumped his lashes together. But, finally, they were cracked open enough for you to see his blown-out pupils, surrounded by thin metallic rings of color.
His eyes were open, but his brain was so hazed-out from arousal that he clearly wasn't even processing anything he was seeing. And that simply wouldn't do.
You stilled your hand, moving to lightly grip the base of his cock to stave off his oncoming orgasm. "Look at yourself in the mirror, Haruka."
Haruka blinked dumbly, letting out a whimper as you denied him his pleasure. Reluctantly, he raised his gaze.
His breath hitched as he caught sight of himself in the mirror. He truly looked debauched, every inch of visible skin flushed and slick with sweat, hair mussed, lips bitten and red, eyes shining with tears. He blushed even more as he looked at himself; you could feel the heat radiating from his skin as his eyes met yours in the mirror.
"See? My boyfriend is the prettiest person in the world." You started to stroke him again, this time faster, movements aided by the pre that was leaking from his cock in a steady stream. "You're so sexy, Haruka, I could just eat you alive."
Your pretty boy couldn't even hold back his sounds anymore. Mewls and whines poured from his lips, noises mixing with the slick, lewd sound of your hand working him to climax. His eyes were hooded, in danger of slipping shut again completely; but every time he got close, you would slow your hand until he opened them again. Haruka likely didn't even realize it, but he was humping into your fist, hips jerking in small, unrelenting movements as he lost himself to his arousal.
You kissed him on the cheek, chasteness of it almost ridiculous for the situation you were in. "My precious, adorable, good boy."
Haruka let out a broken moan as he came into your hand. His head was thrown back, the perfect, biteable line of his throat exposed as his voice cracked and faded into a high-pitched, near-silent whine. He was shaking in your arms, every muscle flexing and frozen. You stroked him through his orgasm, milking the shots of milky hot come out of him until his aching balls were empty and his cock oversensitive.
You held him tightly through the comedown, making sure to kiss him all over and murmur words of reassurance and praise to him. You couldn't help but savor the feeling of him, wrung dry of ecstasy, warm and lax in your arms. He was clinging to you with a relaxed shamelessness, born of post-orgasm haze, that was a rare pleasure for you (but a pleasure that you experienced more and more frequently as Haruka learned how to be loved).
As you pressed another kiss to his sweaty forehead, you whispered to him that he really was just your perfect boy, wasn't he?
It took a long time to pull Haruka together, but, after a suspiciously long time, the two of you stumbled your way back into the main area of the cafe.
You had hoped that you could slip out unnoticed, and text everyone afterwards when you were taking Haru home, but your hopes were dashed by Nirei's sharp eyes.
"Hey! Are you guys okay? You were gone for—"
He's cut off by Suo placing a hand on his shoulder. You watched Suo's observant gaze catalogue Haruka's flushed and ruffled appearance, the way his eyes wouldn't leave the ground; and how you seemed to be glowing with a smug, cat-like satisfaction. "I think Sakura was just overwhelmed. We should let the lovebirds go home to rest, eh, Nirei-kun?"
Nirei looked a little sheepish, but his normal reaction told you he most certainly did not guess the real reason Haruka was "overwhelmed." Nirei wished you well with a stutter as you took the golden opportunity to take Haruka home.
(It was nearly impossible to tell, with one of his eyes covered, but you wouldn't put it past Suo for that suspiciously slow blink in your direction to be a wink).

back to bed — l.lawson
Tumblr media
paring. liam lawson x reader
summary. "come back to bed." 1.9k
masterlist.
.
You wake to an empty bed.
Groggy with sleep crusted around your eyes, you pull yourself out from the comfort of the blankets in search of your missing half. His apartment isn't huge and there are only a few places for him to be if not the bedroom, so you find Liam hunched over his phone at the kitchen table without having to activate too much of your tired brain.
Having heard movement, he's already looking up when you come out of the hallway. "Hey, what're you doing up?"
"What're you doing up?" you lob right back at him.
You stifle a yawn, drape yourself over his shoulders.
His phone is open to some sort of statistics document you don't have the energy to try and decipher right now. You don't have to be at peak mental awareness to know what he's doing: worrying over things he can't hope to change in the middle of the night in your kitchen.
You kiss the side of his face. "Come back to bed."
"I should do this. Should know this all by heart."
He's still beating himself up. "No one expects that of you."
"Some do. The engineers talk like I should know everything. Daniel knows it all."
"A decade of experience will do that to you. Anyone who expects you to know everything is stupid or something. Mentally deficient."
Liam laughs at your sleepy rambling. "You should go back to bed."
"Not without you."
"Babe—"
"Worrying over data sheets at 3AM isn't going to fix anything. Sleep well, then memorize numbers when you're mentally prepared for it."
Liam seems convinced. Your neck kisses may have something to do with that.
"Always so sensible, you."
"What would you do without me?"
"Self destruct, apparently."
Liam presses you into the mattress once you're back in the bedroom, climbs over you and claims your lips. You exchange lazy kisses, ridiculously wet as your tongues tangle, fingers fumbling to push your panties to the side.
"This isn't what I meant by come to bed."
Liam answers by kissing your neck.
You protest no more because you do end up getting back to sleep, half an hour and two or three orgasms later.

The longer you lived in the mansion, the quicker you realized you'd never get a true day to yourself again.
You tied up your hair with a heavy sigh, the click of your heels loud against the steady beep of the man's EKG.
Calmly, you glanced at the monitor, soft eyes combing over his QRS complex in an attempt to double check for any abnormalities.
His mutation was one you had never seen before, and you wanted to make sure it didn't affect the efficacy of your data.
Despite being a victim of a nasty car accident, his heartbeat, along with his many other vitals, were ones of a person with a perfect bill of health.
'A healing ability along with his claws?'
Looking up, you held your hand out to the small philodendron across the room, using your power to grow one of its stems and reach toward the table, grabbing the parts for a syringe and bringing it to you.
"Thank you, Phil," you hummed, carefully returning him to his pot.
What would really back up your hunch would be a blood sample...
Expertly, you assembled the injector, doing so with perfect ease as if you'd done it a hundred times before—which you had.
Once it was done, you gently slid your hand under his arm, turning it over to reveal the veins near the crease of his elbow.
You held the needle at the ready, just inches away from pricking his skin, before thoughtlessly glancing up at his face.
For about the sixtieth time in the hour.
'Damn...'
He was absolutely, positively gorgeous—the handsomest man you had ever seen.
Rugged, hunky features with sexy facial hair to match, paired with thick arms, delicious pectorals, and abs carved out of stone.
'You've had a chance to gawk... now back to business.'
Clearing your throat, you quickly shook yourself out of it, refocusing on the task at hand and pressing the needle against his skin.
Big mistake.
In an instant, he was awake and jumping off the table, the shock forcing you to drop the needle as he grabbed you, slinging his arm around your neck.
Eyes wide, you quickly reached out to Phil, the small plant quickly growing humongous right before your eyes.
The mystery man stared at it, brows furrowed in confusion, until one of its newly acquired vines shot straight for his head, forcing him to let go of you and dive out of the way.
Gasping for air, you thankfully clutched your throat, attempting to catch your breath as Phil's limbs chased the man out into the hall.
'The professor'll stop him from hurting anyone upstairs... hopefully Phil can grab him before then...'
Slowly starting to recover, you grasped the table's edge, using it to hoist yourself back up on your feet, grumbling to yourself about how rough he was.
Suddenly, the vines began to recede, one of them resting on your shoulder and blooming a flower.
"He made it to the elevator?" you parroted, turning to the plant and catching the blossom as it gracefully fell into your palm, reporting the new development.
You let out a knowing sigh, already able to foresee the scolding you were about to receive from the team's leader.
"Scott's gonna kill me..."
Tumblr media
Why did shit like this always happen to him?
It was beginning to become routine for Logan to wake up in unknown places, with people he's never seen before, yet people who seemed to know everything about him.
"I'm Charles Xavier. Would you like some breakfast?" the old man in the wheelchair asked, cool as a cucumber despite the strange man standing in his office.
"Where am I?" Logan asked, brows furrowed and eyes flicking around the room in an attempt to find some sort of clue.
"Westchester, New York," Xavier answered, wheeling out from behind his desk. "You were attacked. My people brought you here for medical attention."
"I don't need medical attention."
The old man made a small smile, "Yes, of course."
He seemed to have an answer for everything...
Suddenly, the memory of a little stowaway popped into Logan's head, reminding him of the precarious situation she was in.
"Where's the girl?" he asked again, still looking around.
"Rogue? She's here. She's fine."
"Really?"
Just then, the door opened, a woman with stark white hair strutting in with a man—who had the weirdest sunglasses in the world—at her side.
"Ah, Logan, I'd like you to meet Ororo Monroe, also called Storm," Xavier introduced, Ororo greeting him with a soft hello, "Along with Scott Summers, also called Cyclops."
Scott held out his hand to shake, but was met with a suspicious glare that held little to no warmth at all.
"They saved your life."
That is... until you came walking in after.
"And I believe you've already met Dr. (y/n) (l/n)."
His eyes flicked to yours, and there he saw the most beautiful woman he had seen in a long time—and trust, he had seen plenty.
The way your curls framed your face...
The way your clothes accentuated your figure...
The way your skin seemed to glow, despite being indoors...
You looked like you stepped out the pages of a beauty magazine, or the screen of a blockbuster movie.
'Damn...'
He wasn't one to stare, but you made it hard not to.
"You're in my school for the gifted. For mutants," Xavier continued, stealing away his attention. "You'll be safe away from Magneto."
"What's a Magneto?"
"A very powerful mutant who believes that a war is brewing between mutants and the rest of humanity. I've been following his activities for some time. The man who attacked you is an associate of his called Sabretooth."
"Sabretooth?" Logan raised a brow, amused.
The professor nodded, and Logan quickly turned to Ororo, pointing, "Storm," he clicked his tongue.
He faced Xavier again, donning what seemed like a rarely occurring smile.
"What do they call you? Wheels?"
Letting out a dry laugh, he started toward the door, done with the conversation.
"This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard."
But Scott didn't move out of his way, instead standing firm in his place.
"Cyclops, right?" Logan grabbed him by the shirt, roughly. "You wanna get out of my way?"
"Logan, it's been almost fifteen years, hasn't it?" Xavier stopped him. "Living from day to day, moving from place to place, with no memory of who or what you are."
Logan whipped around, facing the professor with a sharp glare, "Shut up."
"Give me a chance... I may be able to help you find some answers."
"How do you know?"
On cue, Xavier's voice began to echo in his mind, whispering words that didn't seem to come out of his mouth.
'The hell...'
"What is this place?"
Tumblr media
By the professor's powers of persuasion, he managed to calm Logan down, filling him in on everything about Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and convincing him to compromise long enough for you to finish your tests.
Which was why he was now back on your work bench, staring up at you intensely as you removed the small, plastic patches from his skin.
"I'm sorry," he blurted, seemingly out of nowhere—but he honestly felt guilty for nearly strangling you to death.
You knew that... but you wanted to hear him say it.
"Sorry for what?" you asked, innocently, as you plucked off the last few.
"If I hurt you," he clarified, pointing to your neck.
Pleased, you gave him a warm nod, flashing a small smile before turning and starting up the MRI.
Maybe he wasn't so bad after all...
"So... you couldn't wait to get my shirt off again, huh?"
'Never mind.'
You glanced back at him, letting out a soft scoff at his gall before pressing the button and sending him sliding into chamber, abruptly.
Once he was fully in, you headed over to the viewing room next door, where the others waited for you to explain what they were seeing.
"The metal is an alloy called adamantium. Supposedly indestructible," you started, looking at the X-rays of his skeleton. "It's been surgically grafted to his entire skeleton."
"How could he have survived a procedure like that?" Ororo asked, concerned.
"His mutation," you answered. "He has uncharted regenerative capability, which enables him to heal rapidly."
You crossed your arms over your chest.
"This also makes his age impossible to determine. He could very well be older than you, Professor."
"Who did this to him?" Scott asked.
"He doesn't know, nor does he remember anything about his life before it happened."
"Experimentation on mutants," Xavier sighed, thoughtfully. "It's not unheard of... but I've never seen anything like this before."
"What do you think Magneto wants with him?" you asked, worried.
A face off with him would spell doom for Logan.
He could very well just rip the metal bones right out of him, form a skewer, and impale him with his own skeleton.
'Gross...'
The thought made your stomach churn.
"I'm not entirely sure it's him Magneto wants..."

Drip. Drip. Drip.
Droplets of a custom blend of his favorite drink, warm and slightly sweet hit the bottom of a porcelain cup.
It was just something you did, something you knew The Captain liked and as his assistant, routinely did.
This particular evening it was as if everyone in the nation needed you. A task, an errand, or just had to stop you in your tracks to his quarters for some idle chat.
It must have been several minutes longer than when he was expecting you, which was far too long to keep the Captain waiting; occupied against your will.
His tea was cold by now.
Finally, you ran over to his door. The runway-like carpet ending and small tiles lining the entryway to his office, guarded and sealed.
But you were a regular.
The guard knocked on the door, “Sir, your assistant has returned” he announced, waiting for an answer.
It took a few seconds, but you could hear a faint “Let her in”.
You sigh deeply and watch the giant doors open and shut behind you as you walk into the dimly lit room, only candles and small lamps lit across the table and crackling fireplace that remained behind The Captain’s seated body.
“Over and Over. I must have called you a thousand times? More or less.” He spoke, his voice clear even through the steel mask that adorned his face.
“I’m so sorry-“ You quickly respond, placing the cup on the edge of his desk and folding your hands together. “I got caught up with some others- a few harbingers as well needed my assistance.”
He straightened his legs, now standing in front of you, making you back up just slightly due to his large frame.
“It’s as if you’ve forgotten who you serve.” He said, the point of his gauntlet nail scratching the edge of your jaw and trailing down to your chin.
“Who kept you so long?” He asked, quickly adding “Never mind. Don’t tell me, I’d rather not know.”
You have trouble knowing where to look. Not wanting to cause any more trouble for yourself.
“Now that you’re here…maybe we should get started. You’ll probably need to stay overnight.” He mentioned.
You nod, agreeably to not seem like you’re eager to leave.
You sorted out all the intel Capitano had been collecting. There were piles of data, equipment, maps, and so much more. You were the only person he’d let touch them. It was common for you to stay late, as work never seems to dry out. It was also common for you to be whatever he wanted you to be. Errand runner, liaison…or his toy to let out his frustrations.
Everyone sees The Captain for what he puts on. Respectable and professional.
Most of the fatui honestly confess to enjoying working for him, as he has been much kinder than the others.
He can be, but he has his limits.
How can he be so kind to you when you’re late? You dared to keep him waiting.
“This is unlike you.” He says, noticing you yawn as you flip through the pages.
You blink your eyes a second too long, “Oh- I’m sorry I haven’t gotten much sleep, but I can keep working! Please don’t worry”. You assure.
“ I’m not worried, not for myself anyway.” He adds, kicking his feet up on the edge of the desk.
“Come here.” He urges you, forcing you to get off your small little table in the corner to his desk.
He flicks just one finger and you follow, taunting you to his lap.
“Yes- Captain?” You feel your throat get dry as you sit on his thigh, big enough to count as a seat.
“Is there anything…you need from me?” You ask, insinuating a more personal form of assistance.
He hikes his foot up higher on the table, creating a steep slope of his legs that drags you down and forces you into the crook of your lap, hands instinctively hitting his chest for balance.
“This isn’t for me. I think we need to wake you up.”
You felt a small shiver run up your spine when his hands landed on your hips, “How else will you finish all your work?” He adds.
You let out a small sigh as you felt his steel-clad fingers wrapping around your sides as if your ribs were now armored.
He slowly dragged them down your stomach, small points sliding down the sides of your thighs making you arch your back and grind onto his lap, earning a chuckle from him.
With swift motion, he grabs your throat; dropping his mask on the floor and letting it roll off somewhere.
Your body tenses, and you can see the most faint glimpses of his face; still hidden under the darkness of the room.
Deep and rich, he speaks to you, “Take off your clothes.”
Almost as if he’d conditioned your mind, you do so with no complaints.
He even helps, tugging up your shirt with the finger tip of his gauntlets as you pull it off. As your shirt falls to the floor, you stand before him in just your bra and skirt, your heart pounding in your chest. He doesn't waste any time, his hands moving to your back, deftly unhooking your bra with practiced ease. The straps slide down your arms, and your breasts spill free, bouncing lightly as they are finally released. His eyes darken as he takes in the sight of you, exposed and vulnerable.
"Good girl," he murmurs, his voice dripping with approval. "Now the rest."
You slip your skirt down, letting it pool at your feet, and step out of it.
You stand there, naked and vulnerable, your breath hitching as Capitano's fingers trace the curve of your hips. His touch is firm yet deliberate, each movement sending shivers down your spine. Shadows play across his muscular frame, making him appear even more imposing as he pulls you back onto his lap, each leg now dangling off his sides.
"Spread your legs," he commands, his voice low and gravelly. The steel in his tone leaves no room for disobedience.
You hesitate for a brief moment, but the intensity in his dark blue eyes compels you to comply. You part your thighs, positioning yourself in his lap. The heat between your legs is almost unbearable, a stark contrast to the cool air brushing against your exposed skin. He reaches out, his fingers brushing against your folds, another hand squeezing your breasts between his thumb and forefinger. You gasp, arching into his touch, your body betraying how much you crave his attention.
"Please..." you whisper, your voice barely audible, but he hears you.
He leans forward, his mouth closing around your nipple, suckling hard enough to make you cry out.
His teeth graze the tender flesh, sending waves of pleasure and pain coursing through you.
You grip his shoulders, your nails digging into the tough material of his armor, as he moves to your other breast, repeating the process. Each pull of his lips, each scrape of his teeth, makes you shudder, your body responding eagerly to his rough ministrations.
"Captain..." you moan, your voice breaking as he continues his assault on your senses and his gentle strokes around your inner thigh, purposefully ignoring your sensitive pearl.
He pulls back, leaving you panting and desperate for more. His eyes glint with satisfaction as he watches you struggle to catch your breath. "Turn around," he orders, his voice firm and commanding.
You obey, swinging your leg over and turning your back to him…well, it’s more of him picking up your entire weight and shifting you into position.
As you automatically reach for the edge of the desk to steady yourself, he lifts himself off his seat, stepping close to your body, his presence looming behind you, his heat radiating against your bare skin. You feel his hands on your ass, squeezing the globes roughly, spreading them apart to expose your most intimate parts. Your breath hitches as you anticipate what's coming next.
"Look at you," he growls, his voice thick with desire. "So ready for me." He adds, flicking his arm down to release his hand from the gauntlet, thudding on the floor just as his last piece of equipment.
“Is this what you were thinking about in that little corner of yours?” He teases.
His fingers trail down, skin grazing the crease where your thighs meet your ass, dipping lower until they brush against your wet folds. You gasp, your knees buckling slightly as he slips one finger inside you, probing deeply. You clench around him, your muscles instinctively tightening, drawing him deeper.
"You're so, so wet," he murmurs, his finger sliding in and out of you, slowly building up speed. "Such a good girl."
Your head falls forward, your forehead resting on the cool surface of the desk as you ride out the sensations he's unleashing on your body. His cold finger flicks against your clit, making you jerk and whimper, your hips swaying involuntarily as you try to get more friction. "Beg for it," he demands, removing his finger and resting it on your hips.
"Please... Captain, please," you beg, your voice shaking with need. "I want more... I need you..."
He chuckles, the sound vibrating against your sensitive flesh. "Not yet," he says, "But soon."
You whine in protest, your body aching for release, but he grabs your hips.
"On your knees," he commands, his voice leaving no room for argument.
You drop to your knees, your hands trembling as you reach for his belt, unbuckling it quickly. You undo his pants, pushing them down to reveal his hardened length, already glistening with pre-cum.
You lick your lips, your mouth watering at the sight of him.
"Take me in your mouth," he orders, his hands gripping your hair tightly. "Show me how much you want it."
You obey, wrapping your lips around his throbbing cock, sucking gently as you take him deep into your throat. He groans, his hands tightening in your hair as you bob your head up and down, your tongue swirling around him with each pass. You can feel him twitching in your mouth, his hips thrusting gently to meet your movements.
"Fuck... yes," he mutters, his voice strained with effort. "Suck it like you mean it."
You redouble your efforts, taking him deeper, your throat convulsing around him as you gag slightly.
He tastes amazing, salt and iron, the essence of his power and dominance filling your senses. You hollow your cheeks, sucking hard as you stroke the base of his shaft with your hand, listening to the sounds of his grunts and moans above you.
"That's it," he praises, his fingers digging into your scalp. "Just like that... almost there...you’re working so hard"
His pace quickens, his thrusts becoming more erratic, his breathing heavy and labored. You know he's close, can feel the tension building in him, and you work harder, your jaw aching from the effort.
Suddenly, he lets out a low growl, his fingers yanking your head back as he comes, his hot seed flooding your mouth.
You swallow dutifully, licking him clean as he pulls out of your mouth, his chest heaving with exertion.
He looks down at you, his eyes dark with lust, and smirks. "Up," he commands, his voice still hoarse from his orgasm.
You do as told, standing up and facing him, your legs shaky from being on your knees for so long. He grabs your wrist, yanking you towards the desk, and pushes you onto it, your chest pressing against the cool wood. You gasp, your nipples rubbing against the rough surface, sending jolts of sensation through your body.
He kneels behind you, his hands roaming over your ass, squeezing and caressing the flesh before diving between your legs once more. His fingers find your drenched entrance, slipping inside with ease, pumping in and out with increasing speed.
You moan, your head falling back as his other hand circles your clit, rubbing it furiously.
"That’s it…keep making those sounds," he whispers, "So fucking wet for me. You need more, don’t you?”
You nod, unable to form words, your body consumed by the pleasure he's giving you. His rough hands continue to pleasure you, painting your ass red with just a single slap.
“Answer me.” He says, waiting for your begging voice before pressing his hard length into your ass.
“Yes- please….please Capitano.” You whimper.
You can almost feel the smirk that’s plastered on his face behind you. He lines himself up, his tip teasing your entrance, dipping just enough to coat himself in your slick arousal. You shiver at the contact, your body tensing in anticipation. Then, without warning, he presses forward, his cock sliding partway into your tight channel before pausing.
"Relax," he commands, his voice firm. "Give yourself to me completely."
You try to relax, breathing deeply, but the stretch is overwhelming. His hands grip your hips tightly, holding you steady as he begins to push deeper, filling you inch by agonizing inch. You bite your lip to stifle a cry, your muscles clenching around him as he forces his way inside.
"That's it," he whispers, his voice strained. "Take it all, my little slut."
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, he's buried deep inside you, his balls pressed against your ass. You gasp, overwhelmed by the sensation, by the fullness, by the sheer dominance of his presence within you. It's almost too much, but somehow, it's exactly what you need.
Capitano doesn't wait for you to adjust. With a low growl, he pulls back until only his tip remains, then thrusts forward again, his hips slamming into yours with bruising force. You cry out, your hands clutching at the desk for support as he claims you over and over again. Each thrust sends shockwaves of pleasure through your body, making your head spin and your vision blur.
"Fuck, you feel good," he grunts, his voice rough with exertion. "So tight, so perfect."
His pace quickens, his thrusts becoming more urgent, more desperate. He fucks into your at a monstrous pace, your body going limp. He picks you up, holding your neck firm from behind.
“Arch your fucking back.” He growls, roughly handling you into position. You can feel the tension building in him, the same tension that's coiling inside you, tightening with every thrust, every caress. You're close, so close, but he's not done with you yet.
He leans over you, his chest pressing against your back, his lips brushing against your ear. "Look at me," he commands, his voice a low rumble.
You obey, turning your head to meet his gaze. His eyes are wild, filled with lust and possession. He looks at you as if you're his world, his everything, and in this moment, you believe it.
"You're mine," he whispers, “Anytime another person- another damn harbinger calls for you- shit” He groans, “…tell them to fuck off. Captain’s order?” his voice thick with emotion. "Do you understand?"
"Yes, I will-!" you breathe, tears pricking at the corners of your eyes.
His hand slides down to your clit again, his fingers rubbing in fast, desperate circles. The added stimulation pushes you over the edge, and you scream his name as you come undone, your body convulsing around his cock. He follows right behind you, his release crashing over him like a tidal wave, filling you with his warmth.
You’ve never served Capitano with a cold cup of tea again.

All your life you have heard that there is a beauty in chaos, and while you do agree with this, you also find there is a beauty in organization.
You like taking all the chaos and putting it into categories. You like sorting the details and finding the mysteries that need to be unraveled. You think it must be similar to how clever people feel when they solve a riddle or a puzzle, but you aren’t running in circles with philosophical thoughts - you are analyzing what is already available and coming to a conclusion.
It is still all chaos, because everything is always chaos, but it is organized into a way that makes sense.
And Matt’s stolen duffel bag, when first unzipped and inspected, was full of chaos.
You, Foggy, and Karen quickly got to work looking over the different papers and forming different stacks based upon agreed parameters.
It became clear Matt’s guess that he had found some sort of laboratory was correct. The papers all appeared to be results of different medical tests, though at first glance, the three of you could not decipher for what.
But deciphering wasn’t needed at that moment, so it didn’t matter, and once everything was spread neatly across the dining table, the next step of your beloved process began.
Foggy gave each pile a designation and then the three of you began labeling each paper in the top corner.
A1. A2. A3. A4.
B1. B2. B3. B4.
All your analyzing would be useless if you couldn’t source your data, and it was quickly clear your little group all shared the same brain cell when it came to this idea.
While you worked at the table, Matt and Jessica sat on the floor by the couches, marking up a map. You caught snippets of the conversation - this bit of evidence was heard in that alley, to get to a certain tunnel system you had to go through such and such warehouse. It was fascinating to know that Matt had memorized nearly every square inch of Hell’s Kitchen - even the parts you didn’t know existed - and it was equally amazing that Jessica knew just as much.
After hearing them talk, it left you wondering if Frank had the same knowledge, but you would leave that question for another time. He had been assigned to the two thumb drives that had been in the duffel bag. You had furiously taken mental notes as he had grumpily explained to Matt the little devices couldn’t just be plugged into a computer. They could have malware on them or trigger tracking or something equally devious and needed to be inserted into a clean laptop that couldn’t connect to the internet. That way, if the laptop tried to send a signal or became a brick, there would be nothing lost.
Since neither you nor Matt happened to have a spare laptop laying around, Frank went to go procure one.
That was about half an hour ago and now you are well into your third Foggy-assigned task - highlighting any identifying information in yellow. There’s nothing easy like names or addresses listed out, but you noticed a pattern for patient labels and have determined there are at least five.
As you jot down that Patient 031517DVA also appears on page D4 in your notebook, you find you are enjoying yourself. This isn’t exactly what you imagined when Matt talked about inviting everyone over to review what he had found, but you think it is nice. Knowing that Matt isn’t out there running around without any sort of plan soothes your nerves and seeing that he is putting in the time and thought into his next actions makes you trust he knows what he is doing.
No one wants a shady underground lab in their neighborhood, but you need to make sure they are actually shady first and not some weird fringe group researching an unknown breed of sewer rat.
The effort going into helping Matt with this task makes your fondness of Foggy, Karen, and Frank grow even more - and gives you a fondness for Jessica. Everyone is serious about their task, and extremely thorough, and you want them to see you in the same light. You know this is not a game and you refuse to let your part in the research be the weak link.
As you go to the next row of numbers to examine, you catch some movement in the corner of your eye. You turn your head and watch with a soft smile as your daughter emerges from Matt’s bedroom, clad in her mouse-onesie pajamas. Her sleep mask is pulled down around her neck and she looks upset, but she’s not crying, so you don’t jump to run to her. You let her make her own decisions as she sleepily looks between you and her father and you can’t help but to mentally crow a bit as she starts shuffling towards you, her little mouse-tail trailing behind her.
Everyone’s attention is on you as Minnie lifts up her arms to be picked up once she’s within a foot of you. You dutifully scoop her up and put her on your lap, fixing her hood and mouse-ears as you do.
“Is everything okay, sweetheart? Did something wake you up?”
She nods, then flops herself against your chest, mumbling out, “There’s monsters.”
You begin to gently rub her back, hoping to soothe her worries as you confirm, “there’s monsters?”
Again, her head bobs up and down before she nuzzles into your neck, trying to hide herself. Across the room, Matt is up and making his way towards you, but it is Foggy who speaks up next.
“Are they silly monsters or scary monsters?”
You smile at the question as Minnie ponders it - her little lips purse against your neck and you feel her breath against your skin as she silently repeats the words. She decides on ‘scary’ - replying in a timid voice as Matt takes his place behind you, sliding his hands onto your shoulders.
“Do you want me to help you tell them to go away?” you ask, having packed your bottle of Monster Repellent for just this cause. Little fists clutch tightly at your shirt as Mouse shakes her head and you give a soft hum in thought. “Do you want Daddy to go scare them off?”
You are sure Matt would run outside to chase away a stray cat or hungry raccoon if his princess wished for it, but she shakes her head against you, so you guess Matt will be staying inside.
“How about we make the monsters silly instead of scary?” is Karen’s suggestion, and like the others, it falls flat.
You consider offering to read some stories, but Matt startles you from your thoughts by sliding his hands down your arms to get to his daughter. He gently urges her to let go of you before transferring her to his arms and bundling her close. She absolutely clings to him, looking so tiny against his broad shoulders.
“I got this,” he says, his voice barely above a whisper before he turns and starts making his way back to the bedroom. As you watch him walk away, he buries his nose into her hood, and he begins to rock with each step. The itty bitty fist you can still see tightens around his t-shirt and your heart yearns to follow your family, but you know this is a Daddy-Daughter moment and you need to stay seated.
You were worried about Minnie getting scared over sleeping in a new place - there’s so many new and different noises but you trust Matt to help her interpet everything. He’s already done such an amazing job of it in day-to-day life and you know he’ll explain away all her monsters and let her know she is safe.
Considering the company she is starting to keep she is probably the safest little girl in New York. No monsters would dare to lurk in her shadows less they want to face the wrath of the Devil.
You know that this little group you are becoming a part of would join you in jumping in front of a bullet for your daughter and you are pretty sure even her newest best friend - Max the Dog - would not hesitate to bare his teeth if someone upset her.
She deserves nothing less and it makes your heart soar that she is so thoroughly adored.
Now that her research partner is on another important assignment, Jessica gets up off the floor and strolls over to the table, “anything interesting?”
“Maybe if we were scientists instead of lawyers,” Foggy replies warily, dropping his pink highlighter in favor of nursing his beer, “and knew what any of these numbers meant. We’re going to spend all night looking up these test numbers and hoping they are real. I mean, look at this,” he motions to the paper he is currently working on. “What the hell is D22S1045? And why is the result 15?”
Jessica takes one look at the paper before scrunching up her nose and blandly stating, “It’s a DNA marker. Haven’t you ever seen a paternity test?”
Foggy’s face goes slack for a moment before he is huffing, “Not since college when we had to study paternity suits, and they looked nothing like this! They were like dots we had to match, not numbers!” He uses his beer to point to you, “did yours look like this?”
Your cheeks heat up at the question and you duck your head, hating all the attention is on you with such a personal question. “No. No, mine didn’t…we just received a letter with the results. Not the data.”
“So, they are doing DNA and blood tests?” Karen asks, taking over the conversation and directing it back to Jessica. “And comparing them with each other. Could they be looking for relationships between them?”
“I’m not a fucking doctor,” is the reply she gets, but Jessica picks up the paper to examine it more closely either way. “But none of these match. The numbers have to be the same for a parental match, but that might not be what they are looking for. Just because it looks like a paternity test doesn’t mean it is one. DNA markers are used in a lot of shit.”
“It might not be human,” you add quietly. “Matt said the lab smelled of human blood, but we don’t know that these tests are on humans. There’s no dates on these, so they could be years old.”
Karen whips out her phone and is typing away before you are done talking, “What was that DNA marker, Fog?”
Foggy repeats the string of numbers and letters and you watch Karen’s eyes scan her screen.
“It’s human,” she states after a long, tense moment. The scowl Jessica gives is near legendary.
“Great, so we have a bunch of assholes in abandoned tunnels running tests on people.”
“That sounds both sanitary and humane,” Foggy grumbles before throwing back the rest of his beer.
“OSHA and FDA approved,” you add sarcastically and that earns you a smile from Karen. She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear before she guides you all back on track.
“We still have no idea what they are looking for, though. This could be cancer research for all we know - we are still at square one.”
“One point five,” Foggy argues, “we confirmed it’s human.”
“We don’t know what the tests are looking for,” Karen repeats, ignoring him, “and I don’t think looking up the significance of each DNA marker is going to do us much good. Can you and Matt go back to the lab and look around?”
As the clear recipient of the question, Jessica huffs then turns away from the table and goes right to the bottle of Macallan Matt keeps on top of his fridge. She pops off the lid, taking a long drink of it before answering.
“That was the plan, but I’m betting it’s going to be sprayed with bleach after knowing Devil-boy was poking around. It’s not like we will get much, not that there was shit to get beforehand.”
“So, we have no who, no why, and no where,” Foggy points out. “We are doing great.”
The joy you had gotten from trying to organize the chaos of paperwork evaporates and you sink down into your chair a little. Would continuing to highlight and document be useful or was this all for naught? The rational part of your brain told you to keep going, because it was better to have it done and not need it then to need it later and it still be a mess of paperwork.
“We’ve just started, Fog, of course we have nothing,” Karen says, rolling her eyes a bit as she does. “Did you expect them to write their plans in gel pens and leave them lying around?”
“I mean, that would be useful.”
You roll your lip between your teeth, thinking that Karen is right. You don’t have much, and you’ve only just started - of course things look pessimistic. While Karen and Foggy begin to banter back and forth about the use of gel pens in a professional setting and Jessica finishes off Matt’s whisky, you let your mind wander around the facts of the case.
Someone is out there running medical tests in a gross underground lab, probably trying to hide what they are doing. To do a lot of tests, they probably needed lab equipment, and a few years ago you would have said to follow that trail, but with all the advancements in technology, a machine to run DNA tests on probably only cost a few hundred dollars and was compact enough to move easily. Generators could keep people off the grid and there were enough tunnels under the city that years could be spent exploring them. Everything they would need could be ordered offline, and thus, was untraceable to you.
The only solid clues you had were what Matt had come home with, so you needed to keep digging there and hope that the thumb drives would contain something more useful.
So, you pick yourself back up, grab your highlighter, and get back to work.
Soon enough, Foggy and Karen pick their highlighters back up as well, and Jessica takes up a spot on the couch, putting her feet up and getting out her phone to tap at. The mood is much more somber, but you feel the same determination to find answers that is in you coming off of everyone else as well.
You don’t pay attention to the passage of time, but it is not long after you grab the final stack of papers to comb through that Matt slips out of the bedroom and closes the door behind him.
He starts towards the dining table only to stop by the couch, tilting his head towards Jessica, “That bottle was a gift from Foggy’s dad.”
“Boo-hoo, cry me a fucking river, Murdock.”
Despite the venom in Jessica’s voice, Matt chuckles and finishes making his way to you.
His hands once again find your shoulders and he begins rubbing them, digging his thumbs into just the right spot as he begins his Minnie-update.
“Someone with a really nice sound system is having a horror movie marathon. She was actually hearing monsters.”
“My poor baby,” you instantly coo, your heart breaking for your little one. “Did you tell her it was just a movie?”
Matt hums in affirmation, “That doesn’t help with the noise, though. We walked through turning things off and found something to work as white noise. It’s still hard for her to do it with new sounds, especially so tired, but she’s a quick learner.”
“How long did it take you to learn all that stuff,” Foggy asks, interest clear in his eyes. Karen puts her pen down as well so she can get the gossip.
“I don’t know, years? It didn’t come naturally to me like it does with her - I would train for hours to be able to pinpoint something, but she can do it pretty easily. I mean, she can’t tell me exact distance because she’s four and doesn’t know what that means, but she can point and say if it’s close or far.” You can feel Matt practically puff up with Pride over his baby girl. “She’s learning inorganic versus organic sounds now. She can tell if a loud banging is someone hitting something or if something just fell over. The other day she told me it was the wind making the window shake, because she couldn’t hear any other noises around the window.”
You smile at the story, having a feeling Matt is going to start going on about all the declarations Minnie had made during the storm and you don’t mind at all.
“So, she’s as good as you?” Karen teases and you know Matt is just beaming.
“Better. She can actually read a sign.”
Foggy barks with laughter while you and Karen have to cover your mouths to not giggle.
Once it subsides, you tilt your head back so you can look up at your daughter’s oh so loving father, bumping against his abdomen as you do, “is she down?”
He gives another positive hum, “In a nice deep sleep. Frank’s on his way back up and I wanted her out before he got here.”
You don’t know if that is from Matt wanting to rejoin the group to know what is on the thumb drives or if it is from him not wanting Minnie to get excited over Frank, but you are thankful she’s conked out either way. The thought of her hearing all your discussions about what lurks in the darkness of the city makes your stomach turn.
She doesn’t need more monsters to imagine.
You thank Matt while reaching up to rub one of his arms - letting yourself give him a small bit of affection. You ignore the look Karen is giving you in favor of making sure Matt is all caught up.
“I take it you heard everything?”
He sighs deeply through his nose, and you take that as a ‘yes’. He confirms with his words.
“Human testing with government trained agents isn’t what I was hoping we would find.”
“I was personally hoping for research on the mutant alligators in the sewers,” Foggy says as he gets up to go towards the kitchen, probably for another beer. “You know the ones they flush down the toilets.”
“That’s a myth, Fog.”
“Look, with everything else that goes on in the world - weird aliens and giant green men - let me believe in my sewer gators, Murdock. They make me happy.”
“With everything that Stark and Roxon dumped in the waters, I wouldn’t be surprised,” Karen muses, resting her chin in her hand, “I mean, Matt got superpowers from something getting in his eyes. If a rat ate something that was contaminated, it could have gotten super senses as well.”
You raise your brows up at the idea, a smile coming to your face, “a crime fighting rat?”
“A crime fighting rat that is a ninja,” Foggy chimes, a wide grin on his face and it sends you into giggles.
“How would a rat even learn martial arts?” Matt counters, “There’s not a rodent karate school he could spy on.”
“I don’t know Matt, how did you learn ka-ra-te,” Foggy emphasizes the word to make it sound more mystical. “He would learn from a secret ninja rat clan.”
“What the fuck are you guys talking about?” Jessica asks, looking over her shoulder at the dining table, disgust and confusion clear on her face.
You and Karen erupt into more laughter while Foggy just grins like he won the world cup as he returns to his seat. Matt gives your shoulders a firm squeeze before letting go and pulling away. He disappears into the narrow passage that is his hallway, and you hear the front door open. Heavy boots signal Frank’s reappearance, and when he and Matt come back around the corner, you offer a small smile.
The Punisher holds up a clunky looking laptop, straight from your middle school years, “Got it.”
“Does that thing even work?” Foggy asks, eyes narrowing in scrutiny. You trust Frank, but the question is valid - if you saw that in a Goodwill, you would doubt it would even turn on.
“Of course it works,” Frank scoffs as he delivers the device to Karen. She instantly opens it up to get it started. “Old body, new hardware. Got it built just for this type of shit.”
Foggy’s lips twitch and you wonder if he wants to say something but is holding his tongue. Jessica joins the table as Matt once again returns to standing behind you. His hands find your shoulders like they are drawn to them, and you wonder if he can’t help but want to touch you. It makes you feel special and wanted and your belly stirs with a certain type of warmth.
Everyone’s focus is on Karen as she works - the laptop boots up and she fiddles with the first thumb drive until it is ready to be inserted. It feels like you all are holding your breath as she finally plugs it in. You expect there to be a password, but apparently there is not, as she just clicks away.
“There’s two files,” she narrates. “One labeled 082616DUK and one labeled 121417BNY.”
You instantly recognize the first designation and push your notebook towards Karen, trying to not sound eager as you tell her, “The DUK one is in our files. Can we look at that first?”
Her face lights up at the prospect of a connection and selects the requested file, “There’s five pictures. Hold on, let me bring them u- Oh my God.”
The little color in her face drains as a horrified expression takes over and her hand shoots up to cover her mouth. You and Froggy scramble up out of your seats while Frank and Jessica crowd around Karen to look at the screen. Matt stays where he is, tilting his head just slightly.
When you see what is in the file, you wish you had stayed under Matt’s hands.
The neatly severed head of a boy stares back at you with blank milky eyes, sitting on an examine table. His hair has been shaved away and there is an incision line around his skull that makes it clear someone has probably removed his brain. His mouth is open in a silent scream, showing off that he still had his baby teeth and that someone has taken his tongue.
You want to throw up and you want to turn away, but you can’t. You can’t look away from this poor child who someone has so thoroughly defiled. Who had done this to this boy and why? You wanted to shake them and scream and demand to know what could possibly possess someone to do this to a baby? Because this was someone’s baby - someone’s little boy - and someone had taken him and ruined him.
You don’t know how she manages it, but Karen brings up the next image and it fills you with just as much disgust and anger.
It is that of a tiny hand with its fingers forcibly splayed, stuck with pins to keep it that way. The tips are bulbous and round, different to anything you’ve seen on a human before, and between each digit, there was a thin stretch of skin connecting them, much like the webbing of a duck’s foot. Like the head, the hand has been surgically removed from the rest of the body, and it isn’t hard to determine they go to the same person.
The next image is of the head again but turned to be facing the left and pre-removal of the tongue, as the appendage is pulled and stretched from the mouth with a pair of forceps. The muscle is an odd shade of purple and coated with some sort of liquidy-white residue, but that is not what is unique about it. The boy’s tongue doesn’t just peek out of his mouth - it extends across the table almost three feet, if the tape measurer under it is to be believed.
You need to turn away after that and to no surprise, Matt is instantly by your side, wrapping you up in his arms and guiding your head to his neck. “He’s just a baby,” you whisper in horror as you cling to him, not understanding how someone could be so cruel. Even if he had died naturally, there was no reason to treat him like that in death.
“Did they…” Froggy starts, his voice low and quivering and you don’t know if it's from rage or grief, “Did they make him a frog? Did they mix this kid with a fucking frog?”
“No,” Frank replies, not hiding how he is feeling at all. The fury is clear in his voice. “They did it because he was like that.”
“What’s the other file?” Jessica demands and part of you doesn’t want to know. You bury yourself more into Matt and you listen to Karen click away at the track pad.
Matt’s arms tighten around you and you can’t imagine what he is thinking. No one has said out loud what the images show, and he has not asked - but he must know it isn’t good. He’s gone tense under you, like he’s ready to jump into action and rip someone apart with his hands.
And you want him to. You want Matt to find whoever did this and make them pay. You want him to punish those who hurt the child in the photos, the people who ran tests on him.
You want to help Matt find who did this and for him to make sure they can never hurt anyone ever again.
“She’s…she’s got a beak.” Karen says slowly after a few moments, and you can’t bear to look at another autopsy photo. You hide yourself more against Matt, not at all ashamed of your choice.
“She’s Enhanced,” is Jessica’s reply, almost blank with stifled emotion.
“She’s a kid. They are hunting Enhanced kids.”
“Why?” Foggy questions, sounding wet, like he’s starting to tear up. You don’t blame him in any way. “Why would they do that?”
Under you, the Devil finally speaks, his voice low and eerily calm, “it doesn’t matter why. We are going to find them, and we are going to stop them.”

Lila had come down with a fever, stomach bug, among other symptoms. Lando had a practice day though and had to bring her along. He felt so bad for the little girl as she whined at him.
He made sure she was done throwing up at home before putting her in a car for however long it takes to get to the track. When they got to the track he took her and all her things out with him.
“I’m gonna put a show on your tablet in my room, and have Mr. Jon watch over you while I drive okay sweetheart?” He said while setting it all up for her. She just nodded, the exhaustion of being sick every other hour was taking a toll on her. He caressed her hair and kissed her forehead before heading out to his car.
Jon had sick bags, snacks, drinks, meds, anything he’d need. Not to mention Lando was over the top dramatic. Lila watched her show and Jon stayed with her. An hour and nearly a half was really long when you’re watching a sick 3 year old.
When Lila groaned that she was hot, Jon helped her out of her jacket and asked if she needed anything else. “I want daddy.” She pouted, tears slowly forming. Jon frowned and looked to the tv broadcasting live practice. There was only 15 minutes left.
“I know, he’s almost done Lila.” He assured her. “Do you want to try eating a snack?” She shook her head at him, afraid she’d puke anything she ate. She went back to watching her show until Lando returned. He looks rushed and as if he literally just got out of his car.
“Is she alright? Nothing drastic happened?” He asked panicked as Lila reached for him to hold her.
“I took her jacket off because she said it was hot, but she didn’t get sick or eat anything.” Jon told him. Lando thanked him and turned the tablet off. Lila resting her head on Lando’s chest.
“Let’s try to eat some crackers or bread yeah?” Lando nodded. “It’ll make you feel better sweetheart.” He tried convincing her to eat. She whined but nonetheless ate 2 crackers and snacked on bread while he looked over data and statistics.
He got her to drink an electrolyte drink to get some sort of substance in her body. Lila whined at any food or drink he wanted her to eat, still afraid the bug would attack again. When she hadn’t thrown up from before FP1 to almost FP2 Lando deemed her bug free and worried a bit less about leaving her with Jon again.
This time he made his trainer bench a bed for her to nap on, her constant yawns and eye rubbing gave him the impression she needed sleep to fight the sickness. He lowered the table and laid a blanket down, giving her a couch pillow and throwing more blankets on top her.
“You’ll feel much better if you take a nap okay?” Lando said before leaving. He kissed her head and walked away once again. Jon oversaw the sleeping girl while also watching the practice. Lando had finished practice and she was still napping.
He let her be while he did medias and such, something he knew would not go over well while she was sick. He got back and the door opening caused her to stir awake. “Daddy?” She questioned rubbing her eyes as she woke.
“Yes, sweetheart, what do you need?” He asked, sitting on the table with her. She laid on his leg and was seemingly asleep again. He knew he had more analytics to look at. He sighed and sat back, waiting for her to wake again so he could carry her around.
“Lando we need to go over this telemetry.” An engineer walked in. Lando had been on his phone while Lila rested her head on his thigh to sleep. He looked up and back down to Lila.
“Mate, I really don’t want to wake her.” He said. “She’s been sick all day and I just got back.” He explained. The engineer sighed but left him alone. A couple minutes later Lila picked her head up.
“Can you hold me daddy?” She asked, still groggy from sleep. He obliged and carried the sick girl out to the engineer that had bothered him prior. Finishing up the data analysis and able to gather their things and go home.

Enemies to lovers with Lando: "you want me?" "you know i do"
thank you so much for your request, anon!
tw: fem!reader, swears, wee bit angsty, she's a big one, dickhead!lando. lmk if you want me to add anything.
w/c: 2.8k
this weekend had gone horrible for lando so far, and of course as his assistant you had gotten the brunt of it. on days like this you don't know why you didn't just quit your job. lando clearly didn't like you, in fact you would go as far to say that he hated you and wouldn't everything go much more smoothly if you both liked each other? you lay awake in bed at night - especially after a rough day of running around like a headless chicken after lando - thinking about having a job where your boss didn't curse the ground you walked on.
you had been working overtime this weekend, making sure that lando had everything he needed all weekend for press conferences, meetings with zak and andrea and even when he needed a second alone to himself in his drivers room, you would make sure to tell anyone who was looking for him that he was busy, just so he could get a break. you had decided when lando was in looking at data after both free practise rounds on friday to grab a bite to eat. you hadn't eaten since breakfast, it was now a little past five. it wasn't an exaggeration to say you were starving.
you head towards some tables next to the cafeteria and pull what you had brought for lunch out of your bag. you pull out your phone, scrolling through your texts, one catching your eye. it was the groupchat you had with all your friends, baring in mind there was only four of you.
'it's like a double date but for the four of us!" lara, had said. the other girls seemed to disagree with whatever her idea was. you scroll down further to see the newer messages.
'what if we set her up? i'm sure her boss will give her the saturday off to go on a date with him." again it was lara who suggested it, but it caught your eye because she was talking about you. who was she trying to set you up with and why was she even doing it in the first place? there was also no way lando would be giving you saturday off, never mind during a race weekend.
you tell them so before hearing the distinct voices of lando and zak chatting away as they make their way down the hall. you sigh and pack away your half eaten lunch. you could've finished it, you were sure lando wasn't that much of a dick that he would deny you of food but you didn't want him to hold it over your head. you knew for certain he would do that. you shove the lunch bag into the bigger bag then sling it over your shoulder. your phone pings, a message from the groupchat.
'too late it's already set up, ask your boss and we'll go shopping on monday when you're home.' lara says. you could kill her. you don't respond, just shoving your phone into your pocket and walking over to lando and zak.
"hey, great to see you again!" zak greets you with a cheery smile. it's easy to happy around zak, the only time you've seen him annoyed or upset has been on bad race days. you're sort of surprised he is so because lando has not been performing so far this weekend. you bite your tongue on that one, instead giving him a smile back and returning his polite words.
"well look, as i said before, this is only friday, the only day where what you drive like matters is sunday. that's when we get the points. although i'm sure you will be back on your game tomorrow. we all have off days." zak tells lando, a comforting hand on his shoulder before he walks off in the direction he came in. you spot oscar too, so there is no doubt that it is oscar's turn for his driving this weekend to be analysed. oscar's weekend comapred to lando's has been pretty good.
"that's you for today. nothing else you're needed for." you tell lando, triple checking his calandar, making sure you were looking friday. the time where you were accidentally looking at his saturday schedule instead stays at the forefront of your mind whenever you look at his calandar.
"i know. you told me that before." lando remarks, his voice blunt and a little nasty. its like your presence just pisses lando off. you remember the date your friends set you up with and will courage to fill your veins before asking him.
"what are you still doing standing there?" lando asks, not genuinely asking, just wanting you to leave him alone. he hates seeing you outside of work and although you were in the paddock, he deems this outside of work.
you take a deep breath before just directly asking him. "can i have next saturday off?". lando stops untying his fireproofs. he looks up at you.
"why? why are you making plans on a race weekend?" he condescends, like you were stupid.
"i didn't. my friends set me up on a date without asking." you explain. you hated explaining yourself to him but you knew if there was any chance you were getting saturday off then you had to do what he asked.
lando pauses for a second, staring at you then returns to undoing his fireproofs. "no. i need you here." he declares.
you shouldn't be shocked he said no, you really should have seen it coming but it still surprises you nonetheless.
"you can't go without me for just one day?" you ask, as if you were desperate to go on this date. now it was more about him not giving you the day off than it was about actually going on the date.
lando's brows crinkle. "no. if i give you the saturday off then you'll need the sunday off too as i'm guessing it's not here so unless you're planning on flying over straight after your date?" he spits out the end of the sentence. you had not thought about that. you are quiet as you take in his words.
"that's what i thought. tell your friends to cancel the date, you're coming with me all weekend." lando basically demands.
"i'm not sure why you even want me here. you hate me, i don't know why you haven't just fired me and found a new assistant. this would work a lot better for you if you actually liked the person you need to spend the whole weekend with." you grumble, annoyed at his attitude and how he felt like he could just go around telling you what you could and couldn't do with your life. it seriously felt like you were cutting off you social life for this job. you storm past lando and straight out of the paddock into the uber waiting for you, it stands out against the rich, fancy cars surrounding it in the carpark.
you drive back to the hotel in silence, in one of those moods where everything was annoying you. you hate the fact that you had to stay in the same hotel as him. you had never been this mad at your job before. you try to unwind once you are back at the hotel by jumping into the shower but it does not help.
once you have gotten yourself dry and have gotten changed for bed, you eat the rest of your ruined lunch/dinner and text your friends back letting them know that lando was in fact, not giving you the day off for the date. you then throw yourself into bed. you put the tv on but the only channel that spoke english was the news channel and you seriously couldn't care less about the way people make tea. how did stuff like this even make the news anyway?
you scroll through all your social media apps then decide to download a job app. you enter your qualifications, cv and a description about yourself and your current job. you apply to a few then feel yourself getting tired so you set your alarms and head to sleep, dreading having to see lando tomorrow. you hope he's in a good mood because even though it doesn't matter what mood lando is in, he's still a dick to you, he's a little bit nicer when he's in a better mood.
you go over everything in the morning before you leave, making sure you have everything. as you make your way to the uber waiting outside the hotel, you check the job app but you have no new notifications. you usually only uber back to the hotels and lando drives you there seeing as you both have to arrive at the same time but there was no way you were spending more time than what you had to with him today. you seen him in the hotel carpark getting into his car when your uber was pulling away, so at least you knew he would be on time.
you and lando arrive at the paddock at the same time, you know you would have to wait for him before going in because andrea wanted to have a quick meeting with the three drivers ahead of the practise session and qualifying.
lando sees you waiting and eventually catches up to you. "andrea wants to see you guys before free practise today. i don't know how long for but it might be long 'cause he wants to talk about quali too." you don't look up from your phone as you read out what had been added to his calendar late last night.
"alright." lando replies. there's no nasty comments, no bluntness and no condescension. you are completely shocked but don't let it show on your face as you both walk inside the mclaren motor home together.
you spot oscar in the corner, eating some sort or energy bar? or maybe some kind of breakfast bar. either way it reminded you that lando probably hasn't eaten yet today, so as he and oscar head towards the meeting room you try to find something lando can eat. oscar has told you many times that making sure lando eats is not in the assistants job responsibilities and yet you feel yourself compelled to make sure he is taking care of himself.
you grab a few of the same bars you seen oscar eating earlier before heading towards the meeting room. you hate walking into the meeting room when there was meetings going on so you try your best not to do it. you have only had to do it once and it was the worst thing you've ever had to do. you were so embarrassed.
everyone is surprised at your interruption but you give them a shy smile and head towards lando. you don't say anything just setting the three bars down on the table in front of him. lando locks eyes with you. "thank you." he says.
this time you can't hide your shock as it's written plainly on your face. it's hidden from the others in the room except lando. you only smile in response then rush out the room. what is going on with him today? you sit on the same table you tried to take your break on yesterday as you respond to emails of lando's behalf and it hits you. lando is clearly feeling bad. you'll talk to him before qualifying.
the meeting ends ends and both mclaren boys are quick to get ready for free practise. from the looks of it, zak was right. lando was back in the game today. he came in third on the time sheets. you hoped this would mean a good qualifying, if not for lando and mclaren but for you. this good mood and lando treating you nicer would definitely go down in flames if lando didn't place in the top five for qualifying. you have never been religious, but you prayed then for it to happen.
you stood at the back of the garage, talking to one of lando's engineers when the man himself came over and dragged you away from him. you didn't even get a chance to apologise for lando's rude behaviour before you were both standing in the hallway to the driver rooms.
lando doesn't speak he just leans forward, pressing his lips to yours in a hesitant and light, kiss. when you didn't react he kissed you again with a little more force. every single thing in you was telling you to kiss him back but there was a single thought in your brain that reminded you who he was and how had treated you the past year. you end up pulling away and asking "what are you doing?".
lando looks at you confused. "you know what i'm doing." he utters, voice laced with confusion, like he seriously didn't understand what the problem with kissing you out of nowhere was.
"uh i don't think i do." you cross your arms, waiting for an expantation.
"i want you." lando tried to say confidently, but it comes out a little weaker than what he expected. he puffs out his chest and stands a bit taller, trying to see more confident.
"you want me?" you repeat back to him. surely he wasn't being serious.
"you know i do." lando responds, hand flying up to cup your cheek. you look at him confused. there is no way he has been living the same year that you have. what the fuck does he mean 'i want you'? you have literally never felt more confused in your life.
"do i? last time we spoke you wouldn't let me have a day off?" you remind him. you want to remind him of a lot of things right now, like every single moment he made you go home or even back to your hotel room and cry. his hand moves from your cheek.
"yeah and why do you think that was? because you were going on a date. with some guy. i don't want you going on dates with random guys i want you going on dates with me." lando tries, desperate to explain himself to you.
"i don't think you have a right to tell me who i can and can't go out with, lando." you are seething. who does he think he is messing around in your life like this? "you're abusing your position as my employer."
"fine. you want the weekend off to go on a date? you can have it off then." lando says, firm and a little sad. before you can say anything back to him, he storms away into his drivers room. you don't know why you just did that. you don't even want to go on the date, you would love to go on the date with lando instead, just like he proposed but you were still annoyed at the way he treated you. you know why he did it now but it still doesn't make it right.
you don't see lando for hours until there are people crowding around his driver room telling him it's time to come out for qualifying. you guess from the noise that lando eventually comes out. zak is there telling him information about the car. you suddenly feel that you need to tell him you do like him. right now. you just felt like he had to know. so you squeeze through the people making their way to his car with him. you find lando's hand and give it a tight squeeze to get his attention.
you pull him closer before you whisper into ear, not wanting all the people surrounding him to hear. "i want you too, but you hurt me. apologise and we can maybe work something out." you reveal. lando's eyes widen, with what you can clearly tell is happiness. he doesn't even have any time to answer you so all he gets to do is nod as he's told to get into the car.
you watch the qualifying with eager eyes, this is the fiirst time since you started that you were actually excited to watch lando race, even though it was just qualifying. he really does put the 'flying' into the flying laps. after a very long hour, lando qualifies in second.
"front row for lando!" the garage exclaims in joy. you can't help but join in. you all wait for lando's car to return to the garage before people are patting him on the shoulder in congradualations.
lando speaks to a few people before he spots you through the crowd, he wades through it to get to you. "hi. i'm so fucking sorry for being a dick to you for the past year. i don't know how to cope with my feelings and i ended up turning positive feeling into negative ones and taking it out on you. i'm so fucking sorry, please let me make it up to you." lando begs. you don't know how he knew that you didn't want anything big as an apology, just lando admitting he was wrong was enough for you.
you nod with a smile to his question and lando seals it with a kiss, not caring that the garage was filled with people and most importantly cameras. he could deal with that later. for right now he had you.

It took a long time for you to part on Sunday evening. You stood in the hallway, arms wrapped around Viktor, his arms wrapped around you, and only the sound of breathing surrounded you both. He pulled away first, placed a hand on your cheek, and said, “Think about everything. And let me know.”
You nodded, and a question—the answer to which you so desperately needed—was resolved before you even mustered the courage to ask.
“Come on Friday. I’ll text in the meantime? Or call?”
“I would like that,” you admitted with a relieved sigh, and Viktor offered you a kiss on the forehead. When you finally stepped out through his door, he lingered in the frame until the lift swallowed you.
The week passed in a diluted blur of working, eating, and sleeping, interrupted by little earthquakes in the form of Viktor’s messages and brief calls. Nothing with significant push or pressure—just simple, casual chats that let you know he hadn’t forgotten you, and made sure you wouldn’t forget either. And each one made your face beam in a way that earned you silly and curious “Who is that?” questions, until you were red-faced with a juvenile blush.
It happened every time your phone buzzed. You’d be in the middle of scanning through data, only half-listening to a coworker’s offhand remark, when you’d catch a glimpse of his name on the screen, and suddenly, the rest of the world blurred at the edges.
I am convinced my students are attempting to end me. I asked one of them to justify their methodology, and they said, “I just had a feeling.”
A barely suppressed laugh slipped out before you could stop it. You masked it with a cough, ignoring the glance your colleague shot you from across the table.
Another time, you’d been elbow-deep in paperwork, eyes dry from staring at the screen too long, when your phone lit up with another text:
I hope your day is going well. Eat something before you get grumpy.
You scoffed but still reached for the protein bar you’d left untouched beside your laptop.
And then there were the messages that made your stomach turn weightless, that left you pressing your lips together to fight off a giddy, ridiculous smile.
I dreamt of you last night. It was... pleasant.
It was impossible to focus after that. You stared at your screen for a full five minutes, rereading the words like they might change or disappear. Your mind whirred with possibilities, until the sound of your name snapped you back to reality and you scrambled to act as if your brain hadn’t just short-circuited.
Not once had he asked what you were thinking. Not once had he pushed beyond a sweet Goodnight call in the evening and a Good morning text when you woke up. It made the days more bearable, but it also made new questions rise. Is this trust already? Or just caution?
You faltered on Wednesday, when there was no message to greet you. And then no message to remind you to drink water.
You told yourself it was fine. That he was probably just busy. That this wasn’t some sort of test. But by lunchtime, the silence had settled too deep, turning over thoughts you didn’t want to examine. What if he’d changed his mind? What if he was waiting for you to make the next move? Or worse—what if this was a quiet way of pulling away? Your sanity was wearing thin.
You weighed your options, over and over. If you texted and he didn’t answer, would calling be too much? If you called first and he didn’t pick up, at least you could still send a text after. But would that make you seem desperate?
It took another ten minutes of pacing before you finally pressed the call button, cringing at the way your heart was thundering in your chest. The dial tone felt impossibly loud. One ring. Two. Three—
“Hello?”
And just like that, the breath you hadn’t realised you were holding slipped out of you. “Hi! Oh, um… why are you whispering?” You blurted out the words in a rush, voice pitched higher than you intended.
There was a pause, followed by Viktor’s voice, low and steady, tinged with quiet amusement. “I’m in the middle of a lecture—”
“Oh shit, Viktor, I’m so sorry!” you gasped and started to whisper yourself, as if the class could hear you. You winced, clasped your hand to your forehead and hoped that Viktor didn’t hear the sound of the slap.
“—but I am happy to hear you,” he continued smoothly, the warmth in his tone easing some of the tension gripping your chest. “Let me call you after?”
And he did. And you talked about nonsense until Jayce caught Viktor twirling his hair, hunched over his desk like he was trying to hide.
This was your week—full of insignificant, annoying events that conglomerated into something called life, interrupted by small Viktor moments. And for Viktor, it was small you moments.
And even though a massive weight had been lifted off your chest during that session of helpless sobbing on the couch, nuzzled into Viktor’s neck, you still feel a pang of guilt each time you replay the events of last weekend in your head. It’s hard to pinpoint where it comes from, but it’s ever-present.
Now that it’s Friday, finally, you write it down on a piece of paper filled with bullet points for later this evening. Absolutely convinced you won’t use it, you still write every single invasive thought down—just in case you gather the courage to tell him.
Before leaving, you make a few critical last-minute decisions—hair up or down, skirt or trousers, or a dress? Makeup or none? Take extra underwear, or not tempt fate to make a joke out of you?
You end up in a dress, with no makeup, your hair gathered into a loose updo, and a wishful-thinking extra pair of knickers stuffed into your purse.
You walk to make yourself less giddy. You stop to buy some food for later, glancing nervously at your watch, only to see that you are, in fact, too early. Sitting on a bench to read is futile—you just end up staring at your phone, willing the time to pass.
And when you finally, finally buzz his door, it’s like last time—you are immediately let in, without him checking the intercom. But this time, you almost run to the elevator, jabbing the button over and over for the doors to close and carry you upward. When you step out, Viktor is already waiting by the entrance to his flat, greeting you with a quiet, sweet, “Hi,” as soon as he sees you.
You open your mouth, but nothing comes out at first, not even the breathless hi yourself you’ve prepared. The week of waiting, of uncertainty, of second-guessing every moment—was it real? Was he real? Or was this just a fragile illusion, something too good to hold? The part of you that has spent too long in doubt tugs at your resolve, asking if you’re just imagining the warmth in his voice, the way he’s looking at you like he wants you here.
But then his fingers brush against yours as he plucks the bag from your hand, and the heat of his touch travels up your arm, quieting the noise in your head. The doubts don’t stand a chance once his hands slide up your thighs, wrapping around your waist, anchoring you to him. Your back thuds lightly against the door as he kisses you. You don’t even get a proper look at him before his mouth is on yours, his hand pulling your updo apart, fingers tangling into your hair.
Your palms clutch at his shirt and slide up his neck, pulling him closer. He muffles a quiet ah against your lips when you tug his hair and nip at his lower lip. His hips press into you, your chests flush together, and he breathes in deeply, catching up with your scent—the one he’s been missing for five days.
When he finally pulls away, he says again, “I said hi.”
“Hi yourself,” you reply, smiling sheepishly against him. You brush your thumbs over his beauty marks, and his eyes flutter closed. Your foreheads touch. Viktor looks relieved.
“I missed you,” he says, feeling stupid for admitting it—five days is nothing compared to the six months you spent apart, yet it still felt like agony. “You smell nice,” he adds, nosing at your neck, his lips curling up at the sensation of goosebumps rising under his touch.
“Thank you,” you whisper, dumbfounded by this unfiltered flood of affection. Viktor chuckles, realizing he’s overwhelming you. He moves away, and you would protest—if not for the fact that he’s still holding your hand. You squeeze it tightly, letting him lead you into the kitchen, where you watch him make tea.
“So,” Viktor starts, setting a cup in front of you before taking the seat opposite. “How was your week?”
“I—” Horrible. A blur. A very long blur. Long. Painful. “Painfully long,” you finally huff out with a chuckle, feeling the warmth of a blush creeping up your neck. You lower your gaze to your fidgeting fingers, and soon, in the periphery of your vision, Viktor’s hands creep in, cradling yours across the table.
“And why would that be?” he asks quietly. You don’t have to look up to know his eyes will be hooded and his mouth quirked into a sweet smile.
With a pained sigh, you pull your hands back, stand up, and in a heartbeat, you’re kneeling between his legs, resting your head on his lap, arms wrapping around his hips.
“And whatever is that for?” Viktor giggles, startled by your clinginess, unaware of the quiet, pathetic truth that you feel safest like this—between his legs, wrapped in his warmth. You breathe in the scent of his clothes and whisper, “You smell nice too. I missed you too.”
He places a hand on your head, fingers threading gently through your hair, and you inch your hands toward his belt. Slowly, his palm comes to rest over yours, halting your movement. When you lift your gaze to meet his, Viktor almost melts into a puddle at the sight of you—kneeling at his feet, eyes pleading—but he has to ask, “What is this about?”
“I just really missed you,” you say quietly, fingers twitching at his fly. “May I?”
He studies you for a moment, swipes his thumb over your lips and says a breathless, “Yes,” reinforced with a nod. And then his eyes glue to your fingers undoing his belt and tugging at his pants to slide them down all the way to his ankles, to finally discard them. And then—
Viktor’s breath hitches, but you cannot help yourself. You press your face to his boxers, breathing in his scent and it’s a gesture so full of adoration, he whimpers despite himself. You unroll his waistband and kiss him softly with your mouth open, leaving a slick trail all the way up from his base to the tip. He is still soft, his skin is warm and silky, and he shudders at each and every one of your pecks.
You slide his underwear down and make your way up, starting by kissing his knee, up his inner thigh, to finally take his balls into your mouth and hum at the contact. Viktor’s fingers curl in your hair, his legs straighten out in front of him, head falls back, and he gives out a deep, long moan.
It’s almost crushing to feel so worshipped. You’re being so gentle with him—it reminds him of your first time together. Back when things were easy, full of possibilities. Now, things are a little harder, but the possibilities keep slipping back in, one by one, with each passing minute.
He sags in the chair, eyes glazed, and cheeks reddened when he looks down to you—rubbing your face against his cock with reverence that makes him want to pull you up and kiss you until you can’t breathe. And you hum, and kiss and lick off his pre-cum for the longest time before you give him as much as an actual proper lick to his underside, tracing the prominent vein with the tip of your tongue. And Viktor twitches and writhes under your touch, his cock resting heavily across your face.
When you finally take him into your mouth he shudders, his legs jolt and he scolds himself for acting like he’s being touched for the first time. But after a second, he decides he feels safe enough—to let you touch him like this, to give you this power over him. And as if you catch that split-second hesitation in the way he tastes, you release him with a quiet pop and ask gently, “Is this alright?”
“More than alright,” Viktor slurs, his thumb sweeping over your lip again. The string of drool connecting his cock to your mouth now clings to his hand. He leaves it. “Please, don’t stop,” he adds, a blush creeping beneath his shirt.
With a smile, and God help him, another hum, you take him back in, placing your hand on whatever you can’t fit into your mouth. Viktor sighs, the sensation of being enveloped in warmth flooding over him, when you do something that nearly makes him come on the spot—your hand flattens at the base of his cock and you push him past your throat, releasing a fresh wave of spit to drip down his length, while you gag, and the sound makes him go insane. He looks down, and oh, there it is—the first tear you shed today as you disconnect from him to catch a breath and stroke him with a slow movement of your wrist.
It’s a small tear that dries out somewhere in the middle of its journey between the corner of your eye and your chin, but it’s there nevertheless and Viktor commits it to memory. So when you kiss his tip again and open your mouth for him, he cradles your face and gives you one, languid roll of his hips. He stops to ask, “Can I?”
Your eyes flutter open, then closed, then open again. You nod, mumbling a sound as close to yes as you can manage with your mouth full, and you hope Viktor won’t retreat because you don’t want to lose the feeling of his hands cradling you and the feeling of his cock pulsing between your lips.
And, oh God, he takes it as it is. And he gives it back to you, with another thrust, careful and slow, his mouth falls open and eyes are fixed on yours. You see the vein in his neck pulsing, and you take your quick breaths through your nose each time he retreats to push back again. His cock keeps hitting the back of your throat, gently, just a touch, just enough to make your thighs clench and your knuckles go white on his thighs.
And you watch him becoming progressively prettier and prettier as sweat pearls up on his forehead and his mouth loses restraint with all the sounds he is giving you. “My good girl,” he keeps whispering. “Fuck, you are so good,” falls out next. “I love you so much, I missed this so much,” is your favourite one and makes your heart jump all the way up to meet the head of his cock in your throat.
He pants out your name, his grip tightening and the last thing that tips him over is when he sweeps your hair away from your neck to gather it in his fist. And he sees them, his own fingertips already yellowing on your skin, a faint memoir of bruises that were once there, from when he had forced you to look him in the eye while you admitted to still loving him.
“Oh, fuck,” is all Viktor can say as he spasms between your lips and spills himself inside and over, even though he wants to tell you how amazing it feels. How amazing you are, how amazing it is to fuck your mouth. How amazing it is that you shed another tear for him and that you swallowed almost all of his cum, and to convey it, he pulls you up just as he wanted earlier.
And you sit across his lap where he is still warm from your touch. And his mouth is on yours, and oh, it’s almost like the first time. The taste of him still lingers heavily on your tongue and he sucks on it with love and care and gratitude, humming and licking into you, caressing your hair and your shoulders. He kisses you like you are worthy of redemption. Finally his head falls into the crook of your neck, skin clings to skin, as he mutters, “Thank you.”
"You taste just as I remember," you say absently, the words bouncing off the shell of Viktor’s ear. Just when he thinks he cannot possibly come undone any further, you take him apart.
"What have I done to deserve this?" Viktor asks weakly, and you huff a quiet laugh at how dramatic he’s being over a blowjob. You take his face in your hands, guiding his gaze to meet yours.
"There are things I have no idea how to tell you. But you deserve this every day," you whisper, resting your forehead against his.
Viktor sits there, dumbfounded, with you perched over his naked lap, foreheads touching, his pants and underwear crumpled in the middle of the kitchen. And as if your thoughts have seeped from your mind into his, understanding dawns.
"Is this your way of repenting?" he asks, trying to catch your gaze.
You say nothing, only scrunch your nose.
"Hey, look at me, please," Viktor says firmly, his fingers tilting your chin up. The warmth of his touch is steady, grounding, but not forceful. His eyes search yours, full of something unknown. "What are you trying to atone for?"
"For… everything," you sigh, pressing yourself down until you sag against him, your body moulding into his like you could dissolve there. The warmth of his skin on yours should be comforting, but it only makes the ache deeper, and you wince at your inability to express yourself.
"And yet, there is nothing," Viktor replies without hesitation. His fingers remain at your chin, keeping your gaze locked to his, as if he won’t allow you to look away, won’t allow you to slip into this spiral.
"Viktor—"
"I do mean it," he interrupts, his voice unwavering. "I do not want any of this. We start anew, sins not forgotten but cleansed. We learn, and we start over. Nothing to repent for."
"But—"
His other hand tightens around your waist, a small squeeze that grounds. "What do you feel?" he asks, softer now, but still insistent. "You have to tell me."
You hesitate. The words feel thick in your throat, soaked in self-doubt. "I—" You inhale sharply, then admit, "I feel shame. Or guilt. Or both, all the same."
"And whatever for?" Viktor presses, patient, his thumb brushing idly over your skin, a subconscious motion of reassurance.
"For how this went before, Viktor," you say, voice strained. "I see it now, and I just can’t—"
His brows pull together in concern, but he doesn’t let you trail off into silence. "What do you need to get over this?" Ever the problem-solver.
You huff out a mirthless chuckle, the sound brittle. "I don’t know. Punishment?" you say, half-joking, half-serious, but the weight in your chest doesn’t lighten. A punishment seems fitting. The insistent heat of tears pricks at your eyes, and you try to blink them away.
"I don’t think you deserve that," Viktor says immediately, voice firm, as if the thought alone is ridiculous. His hand moves to swipe the tear from beneath your eye while he does his best to remain unaffected.
"Hey—" He moves in by an inch, your stuttering breath fanning over his face. "I really don’t," he murmurs, quieter now, more to himself than to you. His grip tightens, like he needs to keep you close to not break. "We’ve changed, and it’s alright. Oh, God," he exhales, as his thumb swipes the tear from your cheek and his expression shifts from worry to adoration in an instant.
Your brows furrow, confused. "What?"
A flicker of hesitation crosses his face. He swallows. "I have my share of shame in me as well, love."
Your stomach twists at the admission. "What? Why?"
He exhales sharply, pressing his forehead to yours. His voice drops lower, as if he is giving away his best-guarded secret. "I… seem to enjoy it when you cry," he admits. "Not in the sense of enjoying your suffering," he clarifies quickly, "but somehow, being cried for, or in front of, makes me feel… loved."
"Oh, Viktor," you whisper and pull away, your hands moving instinctively to cup his face. His skin is warm beneath your touch, the sharp angles of his cheekbones softening under your fingers. "I am doing a terrible job with love confessions if you have to seek confirmation like this," you mumble, a self-deprecating huff of a laugh dancing under your nose.
Viktor shakes his head, pressing his forehead against yours again, unwilling to let you part. "I disagree. I felt just as loved a minute ago." Then he exhales, long and slow. "I think… it’s just a byproduct of everything," he says carefully. "A change." He pauses, then asks, voice softer, "Does it repulse you?"
"Of course not," you answer instantly, faster than a blink. Your thumbs brush over his cheekbones, gentle, reverent. "You could never repulse me."
His eyes flutter shut for a moment, like he’s soaking in your words, like they’re something sacred. When he opens them again, there’s a softness in his gaze that crushes you completely. "The feeling is mutual," he murmurs.
He studies you for a moment longer before speaking again. "So tell me—what do you need to overcome your shame?"
And you hesitate again. It still lingers. Creeps up to coil somewhere around your throat and you can’t possibly bring yourself to say this, can you? The most obvious stupid cliché. Not because of the act itself, but because of the nature of it. Because of the reason for it. You crave to shed it, to start anew, to get all dressed up in your fresh new skin, old one feeling to tight around your bones. But this is Viktor. And of all people, he’s the one you would ask.
So you lean in to whisper your undisclosed desire straight into his ear. "Spank me."
Viktor stills, his mouth falls open, and he covers it with his hand. Not in shock—just to think. He doesn’t let the moment linger, as his brain works fast. He cups your cheeks and sweeps his thumbs under your eyes. Takes a deep breath.
"This is your wish?"
You nod, lowering your gaze and fixing it on the space between you, but Viktor tsks at you. "I will need you to use your words for this and all the way through. Is this what you want, for sure?"
"Yes," you answer, quietly, but audibly enough for Viktor to accept.
"Alright," he says firmly, then smiles and places a kiss on the corner of your mouth, sweet and lingering. "Will you pass me my pants?"
You huff out a laugh but scramble up from his lap, helping him get roughly dressed—underwear left in the kitchen—when he leads you back to the bedroom. And it’s all so very sweet. He leans on you, just like last time. Kisses your cheek and neck all the way through. You manage not to look at the empty spaces this time.
He leads you to the bed, where he sits down, and you don’t know what to do with yourself. Holding your hand, he guides you to sit beside him. Without question, you do, heart all the way up in your throat.
"Alright, let’s go over this, yes?" Viktor states, as if this is a project. Safety rules, roadmap, scientific approach. He gives your thigh a gentle squeeze and smiles softly. "I will check how you are doing constantly. If you tell me to stop, I stop immediately. If, for whatever reason, you don’t feel like you can tell me, you tap my thigh three times. If you don’t like it, we never do this again. If you do, we will explore. What do you think?"
"You don’t think it’s weird?" Do you think I’m weird is truly what gnaws at you, but you can’t bring yourself to ask it. You just look at him, waiting, excited and scared.
"Of course not. Peculiar, at best," Viktor smiles again and places a flurry of kisses on your face. "Do you wish to continue?"
"Yes," you answer with more confidence now.
"Then lay across my lap, please," he says, leaning back, hands still on you—grounding and reassuring.
Air gets momentarily knocked out of your lungs when your belly presses across Viktor’s thighs. He runs a hand down your spine, finding himself strangely excited about this. The trust he asked you for last week now lay splayed across his knees—he couldn’t help but think. All he has to do is indulge you.
His hand slides down, cradling your ass. He lifts the skirt of your dress, draping it over your lower back, and runs his fingers under the hem of your underwear. Gently, soothing you with soft sounds as he does, he pulls your knickers down to your knees. Your face burns, heat prickling across your skin in goosebumps with every touch—nails grazing over the inside of your knee, up your thighs, stopping at your core. He palms your naked skin and hums once he realises you are wet.
“Good,” he murmurs, playing between your legs for a while. Your mouth parts and eyes close, while you give him quiet gasps. He spreads the wetness onto your ass cheeks and cradles your bum one last time before starting. And then, without warning, the first slap lands—firm, of medium strength—but still, you yelp in surprise.
The sensation is alien—it both hurts and doesn’t. With the mild pain comes something else, something fleeting, but you can’t quite grasp what it is. Warmth spreads across your skin, and you dig your fingers into Viktor’s thigh.
Viktor, however, receives something entirely different. Nothing flees him—something grows. Both between his legs and in his chest. He has to take a second before he asks, “How was that?”
“Good,” you reply immediately.
So he continues. Another slap echoes through the room, and Viktor watches as the imprint of his hand whitens against your skin before dissolving into pink a second later. How pretty it looks. He checks in with you again. And again, you encourage him.
Slowly, slap after slap, each one interrupted by Viktor’s questions, you feel lighter, warmer. A strange feeling of relief washes over you. At some point, your skin begins to sting, and even that is welcome. Your mouth loses restraint, and you moan each time Viktor’s palm connects with your ass. Your back arches, ribs pressing into his legs, and you feel a drop of slick rolling down your inner thigh.
So debauched. So pretty, Viktor thinks.
He can’t help himself and runs his fingers down between your legs. Gasps at the wetness pooling there. “More?” He asks, voice breathy, eyes completely transfixed on your reddened skin and he almost drools at the sight. All his doing. His hand did this. This, and the drenched state of your cunt, it’s all him.
“More,” you say weakly. The burn feels good. You feel the doubt seeping out with the warmth radiating from your skin. With each touch, something inside you feels lighter. Bigger. Like there is more of you and less of whatever had been gnawing at you.
Viktor gives you three more slaps, and when your thighs quiver with the last one, his hand comes to rest at the base of your spine. “How is that?” he asks, admiration seeping into his voice.
“I think it’s enough,” you reply in a small voice. His hand returns to your bum, a gentle caress spreading from the tops of your thighs to your hips. Slowly, you rise from his lap, only to straddle him and wrap your arms around his neck.
“Thank you,” you breathe into his skin. Viktor pulls you close, inhaling deeply through his nose.
“Thank you,” he murmurs in return. “Please, lie down on your stomach. I’ll be right back.”
You blink in quiet question but obey. Crawling onto the bed, you curl up on your side, fingers ghosting over the heat still lingering beneath your dress. When Viktor returns, the soft tap of his cane against the floor announces him, and you wonder how he got all the way to the kitchen without it.
“I said on your stomach,” he says gently, placing a hand at the small of your back. You roll over, propping your head on your crossed arms.
“Good girl,” he coos before exposing your reddened ass. The mattress dips on each side of your knees and once again you feel Viktor’s hands on you. Soft, gentle. Callouses gliding over your tired skin with care and love. He presses his face against your cheeks, holding them firmly, hums in appreciation, making your toes curl and your back arch, belly pressing into the bed. Then his mouth joins, as he licks you with a flat tongue. Lips grazing over you, the trail of open mouth kisses spreading all the way from the crease of your ass to the small of your back. You press yourself into him and bury your nose in the sheets, trying to muffle your whimpers.
And then comes the coolness pressing against you, making you wince at the first touch. A cold compress.
“Shh, it’s alright,” Viktor whispers. His free hand comes to thread gently through your hair. You feel safe. Whole. That sense of belonging blooms within you again—stronger this time—and you are so, so glad it’s with Viktor. You sigh and close your eyes.
He lies beside you, his hand running up and down your spine. When you blink, your eyes meet. “How are you feeling?” he asks, and he looks so in love your heart is about to burst.
“Very good,” you say quietly, offering him an honest smile. You turn onto your side to face him, the compress slipping off. “Better. Empty and whole at the same time,” you murmur against his mouth, kissing him with reverence. “You?”
Viktor thinks for a second before answering. "Knowing you trust me enough to let go like this makes me feel irreplaceable," he says finally, and you are left speechless. Because he is. And it feels great that he knows.
“It’s all very new, isn’t it?” you ask finally, and Viktor gazes at you, a soft smile tugging at his lips.
“No,” he murmurs, pulling you closer, your name falling softly from his mouth. “Nothing’s new. It’s still love.”
You nuzzle against his neck and sigh, your eyelashes tickling his skin. The last question gnawing at you slips past your lips before you can catch it.
“Do you hate me less now?”
Viktor scoffs, outright appalled. He pulls you back by the neck, forcing you to look at him, his eyes full of intent as he replies simply, “No.”
Your heart beats only once before stopping entirely. Then Viktor’s expression softens, and he speaks again.
“I never hated you. If anything, I only love you more.”
And your heart resumes beating—hard and erratic. You wrap yourself around him, letting out a shuddering breath. “God, how can this be so good now when we’ve fucked up so badly?”
Viktor picks up what you’ve put down. “Change is inevitable. Sometimes abrupt. Maybe this is where we were supposed to be to get here, miláčku.”
Oh, God. There it is again—dragged up from the pit you were hoping to forget. The one thing that once felt most dear, a treasure Viktor gave freely, only to let it slip into someone else’s hands. Now it’s tarnished, dulled with grime. It doesn’t sound sweet anymore. It tastes bitter, feels wrong. Feels like it doesn’t belong to you.
Your heart drops again. Your voice shrinks to almost nothing as you push him away and plead weakly, “Please, don’t call me that again.” Tears are already pricking at your eyes, and you wonder when you became so quick to cry.
“Wha—Why?” Viktor chuckles, trying to wrap his arms back around you, but you keep your distance, splaying your palms flat against his chest in quiet defiance. And then he sees it.
“Oh, darling. It never happened, I promise you. The note, I—”
“What do you mean?” you ask, as if you don’t already know. Your brows knit together, a tear clinging to your lashes. “It was on the note,” you try again, your voice frail with disbelief. Your lips press into a tight line, and Viktor looks so remorseful that you fear what’s coming next.
“It was on the note,” he says carefully, “because I was fully lying to you.”
It’s so quiet you almost don’t hear him. Your eyes flick between his eyes and his lips, your mouth parting—but nothing comes out. A couple of imaginary pins drop on the floor, the sound echoes in your head.
And then a sob slips through as you blink rapidly, trying to hold back the tears. “No. Viktor, I thought—”
“I’m so sorry.” He tries to cradle you, but you resist. “I knew it was horribly wrong as soon as I saw you that day. I regretted it in an instant, and oh,” he murmurs, pulling you against his chest. He holds you tight through this last, stupid display of jealousy, doing his best to reassure you.
“I would never. I would never call anyone else that. You are the only one, I promise. It’s all yours. Please forgive me. Miláčku, please forgive me,” he pleads, pressing his face into your hair, into the crook of your neck.
You don’t respond—not with words, not yet. Your breath is shaky against his collarbone, your fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt like you need something solid to hold onto. His heart hammers against your ear. You know he’s afraid.
Viktor shifts, pressing a kiss to your temple, lingering like he’s willing you to believe him through touch alone. His hand cradles the back of your head, his thumb brushing small, rhythmic circles at your nape.
“Please,” he whispers again, softer now, like he’s running out of words, running out of ways to reach you. “I promise it’s yours. Forever.”
“How do you know it’s forever?” you ask, voice hollowed out. That would be a gift too good to be true. Yet. You dare to have your hopes up.
Viktor winces. Your body grows pliant against him. He hooks his leg over your hip bone and nestles you close, his arm wrapping under your waist, his palm resting between your shoulder blades. His other hand cradles your cheek, his face inching closer. Your noses press together, and when Viktor speaks his quiet truth, your lips brush.
“Because loving you isn’t a feeling that fleets,” he murmurs, pouring the words into you. “It’s a condition. And I will carry it with me always, no matter what happens between us.”
Your breath hitches, and you shudder. You squeeze your eyes shut, searching for something—anything—to say. But instead, you press your salty lips to his, not in a kiss, just a press. Just to steal a breath from him.
“Come back to me,” he coaxes, his knuckles paling against your skin. “Miláčku, come back to me.”
And Viktor doesn’t really believe in any higher form of consciousness controlling the universe. The only thing he believes in is the void, that we scream into like an echo chamber, questions bouncing back to anyone who’s asking. That we only get one life and have to make the very best of it. He doesn’t believe in God, that he has called upon too many times already in the spirit of figurative speech. But if there was one thing he would pray for, it would be this.
To tether himself to you, bind himself to something real, something beyond the desperate loneliness he’s learned to live with before he’s met you. He’s been waiting and waiting for this love to fleet, and it never fucking did, no matter how hard he’s been trying to squeeze it out of himself. So, instead of praying, he offers himself to you, tries to prove in the only way he knows how that he is yours, that he will always be yours—with his needy hands that chased away your shame, with his loving eyes so honest they pierce right through you, with his hot mouth that needs, needs, needs to suck on you so his lungs could expand, and his heart could beat.
And as if gears slowly begin grinding against each other in your head, you give it all back. You kiss him—deep and messy, snot mingling with drool. Viktor sighs in relief, the taste of your tears on his tongue sealing something unspoken between you. He murmurs sweet things between breaths, hands tangling in your hair, legs hooking you closer. And he needs, needs, needs to show you how much he wants you to come back. How nothing else could ever compare. How the thought of anything else is harrowing and empty.
“So we start over,” you slice through his thoughts, stating more to yourself than to him, as if the matter has nestled in your head securely only just now.
Viktor nods brushing his nose against yours and whispers a quiet, “Yes.”
“Yes,” he says again as his shaky fingers begin to unbutton your dress. “Yes,” he breathes when his thumbs brush under your breasts and palms twitch to cup them. “Yes,” comes another murmur when his tongue meets your skin, tits squeezed together so he can lick between them, and then a moan escapes him as you slide your hands to the nape of his neck and tug at the short hair there.
Your back arches, excited and willing when the sensation of his tongue on you mingles with the sounds he makes echoing in your mind, and you breathe out a needy plea, “Do it again.”
Viktor cocks a brow, hums into your skin as he takes one of your nipples into his mouth, and asks a playful muffled, “Which one?"
“Oh, God, both,” you whine, squeezing your eyes shut and buck your hips against thin air, Viktor’s knee too far for you to reach. Your fingers pull at the base of his skull, and Viktor chuckles, a flush creeping up his body underneath the layers of clothing when he sinks his mouth into your breast and obeys—letting out a quiet, wrecked, “Oh, fuck,” somewhere around your heart.
His thigh finally, finally, comes to your salvation, sneaking between your legs and pressing on your core with a quiet obscene squelch. The thought of a wet stain he will get to see there makes his cock twitch painfully against the half-assed job you did of buttoning up his trousers earlier on. You breath grows short as you rub yourself on him and when a stuttered whimper escapes your mouth, Viktor huffs, “Please, do it again,” through a sharp exhale.
You tug at his hair, forcing him to look at you. "Give me a reason," you whisper in a strangled breath.
Clearly, you have no idea what you’re asking for. The cry that escapes you when his knee retreats is, to say the least, embarrassing. The sound transforms into a quiet gasp, when his hands leave your chest, one finger slides through your slit and Viktor hums, so, so pleased with you, “Baby, look how wet you are.”
“So wet for me, my girl,” he coos, and he sounds almost too grateful as his lips come back to kiss you, and a gush of cold air fans over your nipples. He palms your sickly heat, grinding the heel of his hand against your clit and you blink rapidly as your eyes roll back in your skull. Your hands fumble blindly to unbutton his shirt in a need press yourself flush against him.
And you do a very poor job, jolting and pulling at his buttons whenever Viktor’s hand parts you and his fingers tease your entrance, so his other hand comes to help you, undoing what you can’t with an ease that has you huffing. It’s annoying that he can do two things at once, while you clearly cannot. Your sulking doesn’t last very long, because as soon as his naked chest is free to be roamed, you leech yourself to his collarbone and suck a red glaring love mark into it.
Yours. All yours.
And Viktor slips, figuratively and literally, as his head instinctively falls back to grant you full access to his neck and his two fingers push inside you, where you are so, so hot it almost burns him. As if the mark on his neck wasn’t red enough, you bite on it, trying to muffle a groan. Viktor has nothing to muffle his groan on, so you can feel it crawling up his throat and vibrating under your lips.
When his fingers push in further, the only gesture you can muster is to hook your hands over the waistband of his trousers, mouth choking on his neck. You pull his pants down and he hisses as the material hooks over his cock before it springs back to slap heavily against his lower abdomen. You try to distract yourself by sliding your palms flat up and down the slope of his sharp hips, but it’s futile once Viktor buries his fingers knuckle deep and curls them brushing the sensitive spot within you. He twitches as you moan. Precum leaks out of his slit. No thoughts cross your head, only impressions. Only want and need.
You can’t decide which one it is—want or need—when your fingers wrap around his length and rub whatever weeps at the tip all over the head. He’s silky and heavy in your hand as you trace your favourite vein with the tip of your finger.
“Oh, God,” Viktor whimpers to the imaginary being again, pumping you with a stuttering rhythm of his wrist. Feeling every crevice of your cunt, he pulls you in for a kiss and you no longer know where he ends, and you begin. Attached by the mouth, his hand deep inside you, your needy wanting hands on him, just drawing gasps and moans from each other.
He has to retreat to pull his pants further down and has an audacity to chuckle when you whine in protest. His hand leaves you drawing a wet sound and your thighs fall back together with a sticky smack. “So impatient,” he hums, while doing a shitty job of undressing himself, kicking off one leg of his pants, while the other still entangles around his calf. He hooks his freed leg over your hip, takes his cock from you and aligns it at your entrance. You are completely wrapped around each other—leg pressing on leg, arms hooked around necks, fingers adding to already damp hair.
“Do you want me?” he asks, pressing his cock against your clit, hard. You tie up into thousands of knots, trying to suck him in by the force of your sheer will when you see the question is honest. He really wants to know. Eyes pensive, hooded, mouth parted. So you kiss this mouth, bite his lips until he hisses and breathe into him, “I want you, fuck, I want you.”
A silent moan rips through him, as he enters you, inch after painful inch until you can feel every ridge, every vein, every pulse of his cock against your walls. At this point you are just clashing mouths and teeth in something that once was a kiss. He fills more of you than was empty as you lose control of the clenching and unclenching of your own muscles. A quiet ah falling from him dies in the sound of a slap as your hips slot together.
He stills for a moment, buried deep, and you swear you can feel his pulse inside you, thrumming in time with your own. Chest to chest, forehead to forehead, he exhales heavily through his nose, his grip on you tightening. And then he moves.
Your mouth falls open so wide your jaw aches, breaths intermingle, brows knit together. Viktor's hands anchor around your ass as he thrusts into you, slow and deep, each movement pounding the shape of his cock into your core. You arch against him, offering yourself, giving him everything you have. Your fingers twist in his hair, and the moment you tug, he groans—a low, breathy sound that coils something filthy at the base of your spine as your skin slaps against his.
And Viktor feels himself melting against your lips, inside you, as your walls squeeze tighter and tighter around him. He loses control of his hands—they just roam, fisting at your dress, kneading the soft flesh of your thighs as he sinks deeper, hitting a spot that has you gasping hiccupped breaths straight into his mouth. He pants, struggling not to be the one who falls first, trying not to look, not to think about your clumped eyelashes, the tears that he is fucking out of you. He tries not to think about how every slap of his hips against yours must echo across your poor ass, how pleasure and pain must be bleeding together inside you.
But it just feels so fucking good for you. Every roll of his hips is a reminder of how his fingers sank into your skin not long ago, heat pouring out of you in waves. You don’t move anymore—it’s only Viktor’s sloppy, determined thrusts guiding you toward the edge. You cross your eyes to focus on his parted lips, the beauty marks dusting his cheek and lip, and when his breath fans over your face, you let your lashes flutter closed, surrendering to it. Letting it build, slow and aching, every deep stroke tightening the coil inside you until you’re cramping around him.
“Fuck,” Viktor pants as you curl into him, whining his name into the crook of his neck, fighting the urge to bite down on his tendon. Your thighs squeeze tight around him, and your cunt grips him like a vice, milking him as you finally break apart. You spasm and clench around him, neck wrenched and jaw tight as you try to catch a breath through your silent shout and it’s almost impossible for Viktor to move in the tightness you’ve created. His sweat drips onto your cheeks, and, at last, he can stop holding back.
He curls his arms around you and rolls you over, pressing you down with his weight. Adding gravity to every snap of his hips, his stomach cramps more and more with each desperate thrust as he fucks you through the aftershocks, chasing his own undoing. His mouth hangs open against yours when he holds you tight enough for his fingertips to whiten, bruises already threatening to bloom where he grips. “I’m so close,” he whispers on a breath, and you thought it impossible, but you clench even tighter at the sound of his strained voice. And when he cums, it’s with a wrenched-out grunt, his head buried in your neck, his body trembling against you.
A few stuttering jolts of his hips, spilling his seed deep inside you, and the sensation of being filled, of being utterly his, has you moaning one last time, spent and breathless. Eyes unseeing, mouth touching mouth when he falls on top of you and just stays.
And then, nothing, for a moment, only your damp stomachs rising and falling against each other.
Until Viktor is the one to move first. He pulls out, his cum spilling from you onto the sheets with a wet spurt, and rolls onto his back, hiding his face in the crook of his elbow. A shuddery breath escapes him as he presses a hand to his chest.
“Viktor?” you say softly, gliding an open palm over his stomach.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what—” he croaks, then pulls you in, guiding your head to rest against his chest. His heart pounds beneath your ear, his breath uneven, and when you lift your chin to look at him, you catch the glistening trail of a tear slipping down his cheek, barely visible.
And Viktor has no idea what came over him. He has no idea whether this is a stupid way of paying back his debt to you or is it just a surge of affection that he cannot hold in, but it feels strangely freeing to pour all this fear into a wet breath. Or maybe his fucked out brain just can’t keep up with the bliss, he doesn’t know.
Gently, you tug his arm away from his face, nuzzling into him as you whisper, “It’s okay. You’re okay.” You press a soft kiss to his lips, and he exhales shakily, like he’s been holding something in for far too long. And to come undone like this is completely unlike for Viktor. You are fairly sure you’ve never seen him cry before, though you’ve heard the legends. And now they all come true, before your very eyes and even though you feel nothing close to arousal watching him spill his emotions over, the feeling you do have in your chest is about to make it burst, nevertheless.
“Sorry,” he mumbles, kissing you back through an embarrassed chuckle. “I guess something is new after all.”
“Don’t apologize, please,” you whisper, nuzzling your nose into the hollow of his cheek. “I love this.”
Viktor offers a smile and a squeeze to your neck. Wordlessly, you fall into each other, arms tightening, bodies entwining. The roam of your hands slowly dying to settle on each other’s hollows. The scent of sweat and warmth heavy between you, intermingling, blending—just as you do.
And even though all of this looks hurried and disorganised—your dress half undone, his pants tangled around one leg, brace slid down from his knee, shirt twisted around him, cold compress melting away, dampening his sheets—it feels right. And as you rest against him, your heart slowing in tandem with his, you think of how this is both familiar and new. How you’ve shed the bad and kept the good. How it’s all very fucking new and exciting and frightening, but it’s good, because it’s with Viktor.
At some point, the sun has set as you both drift into sleep. Heavy breaths, calm, bodies still half-clothed. Your dress has rolled all the way up, exposing your lower half, and Viktor, with sleep-ridden hands, pulls it down before throwing a blanket over you both. No dreams interrupt you, only the damp cloister of your shared aftermath.
He’s closed his eyes a second ago, and when he opens them again, the night has turned into a blue morning. No sun yet, but the dark already pales. Carefully, he shuffles from between your legs, pressing the soles of his feet to the wooden floor, blindly reaching for his cane. Then, takes a long breath. His knee is aching—a faint, but present feeling. Slightly annoying. Managable.
He discards his pants to the floor, the outline of the fly buttons pressed into the skin of his calf after clinging to it the whole night. He glances over his shoulder—you, fast asleep, hair clumped into a tangled mess spilling over his pillow. Mouth open, soft breaths coming in and out, the faintest sound nestling in his mind. His hand hovers over your cheek as he dusts away a stray eyelash. Moments pass as he just looks.
Quietly, he stands and expands himself into a slow stretch. Breathes out long and heavy. Then, half-naked, walks toward the kitchen. And there—his underwear on the floor. Two cups resting on the table. He puts his cup in the sink and reaches for yours—half-drunk tea, a once-wet, now dried-out ring left behind. He smiles.
Nothing’s new, comes the thought.
He drinks your cold tea and puts the kettle on.
