So I realized today that my computer still works, and so I immediately downloaded Frosty Editor to make a long text file of all of the Veilguard conversation lines, organized by scene and with the speaker of the line labeled. While I did this, I found an interesting VERY LONG SERIES of conversations where Rook was apparently supposed to fight and kill an Executor multiple times. I haven't been paying attention to the Executor stuff, so I have no idea if people know about this, but I tried google searching for several of these lines and could not find them. Now, everything is correct here but THE LINES ARE STILL OUT OF ORDER because I just couldn't be bothered, so keep that in mind. but here's the conversations: ((The Executor character has a description that says: Gender: Nonbinary CharacterDescription: A masked and hooded figure that speaks like someone unfamiliar with language in general. Stilted, awkward, but with a low menace. SpeechPattern: Stilted. Is trying to form words from thoughts that are far more complex than a regular person's.))

The most interesting lines, to me, are the ones where it's apparently talking about the elven gods: Executor : Took his strength. Fought him with yours. Executor : Then the tyrant. The sun. Dimmed by blood. His own. Executor : The ripples joined. Expanded. Extended. Executor : We readied. Consulted. Planned. Executor : You quelled the storm. Stilled the waters. Executor : We felt it. The ripples. They went far. Executor : But we did not move yet. We waited. Watched. Executor : Fought him on his terms. Defeated him on yours.

Executor : And then the wolf. He knew of us. In part. Not in whole. Executor : You changed him. Saved him. With the other. She lingers. Executor : The pattern… continues. Executor : Nearly… enough.

And also that bit in Nature of Middle-Earth where it's described that they slow down their movements and speechpatterns when talking to mortals so as not to startle them, but how they will forget that when they get really excited, so that they are both talking and moving their hands very fast?

And let's not forget one of the four reasons elves don't get children in the time that would be best for their fea which is, besides lpng travels, death and seperation from the partner, to focus on one craft or subject for so long that they don't have time for sex.

I mean, it's not even subtext anymore.

all Elves in Tolkien are autistic btw. the extreme focus on Things They Must Be Good At, the overly sharp senses, the rigidity, the lack of Facial Expressions As Done By Men, the obsession with How Things Must Be, and the random outbursts of song and dance sure sound like a group stimming session to me....

The only motion is of his eye opening to shadow  the tendrils that slither, sluggishly, from beneath his preacher's vestments,  It is after a juncture that he shifts, pushing to stand; his mouth opens, permitting his duplicate voice to harmonise through the inky twilight,  "I will live, I will fling my spells forth into the gloaming.. but I.. cannot remain, not truly. I am scarcely who I had been mere seconds ago; it is a curse or perhaps a blessing-  but it is consuming- It grows harder to conceal with each passing day. I fear for what It will devour when I am no longer able....." his voice silences, not unlike a caravan when a deer rushes forward into the road, "..I grow sentimental" he grumbles, jerking his head clear of thoughts as he swerves to meet the stairway, "...This...This is farewell, Take care of yourself Lunna…"

Also let’s name some more ways to make sure your character has depth

-change their hair(color). Describe them. Would you still understand that it’s them? If you have a betareader you can ask them

-fill put those Pinterest character sheets. Those basic ones are the best

-pretend they’re new to the class. Everyone is just getting to know each other (You could even write a scene like that to practice some writing as well and/or get over a writersblock)

-fit them into character tropes and then take them out again only leaving peaces of that trope on them OR only leaving peaces of them on that trope. Choose whichever you like better

-what does their everyday life look like?. Just them being casual. Do they have siblings? Parents? Do they live alone? How are they with their friends etc? Do they work? Go to school? Are they annoyed a lot? Do they have a crush? What does their way to school/work/home look like? Let them be casual. Funny. Chill. Let them jokingly insult or tease their siblings, lover or friends. Let them hold grudges (write a scene)

-give them a way to talk. NOT just an accent (PLEASE) Catchphrases. What do they say a lot and in what situations? Is there a word they can’t pronounce? And if so do they always try to not have to say that word? Do they overshare? GIVE THEM SPEECHPATTERNS

-give. Them. Flaws. And not just one. And for fuck‘s sake please be specific. Not being specific with your flaws is even worse then not being original with them. (Which is bad. Dgmw u can have some basic stuff; there’s a reason it’s basic. Just have some original stuff too)

-make them act different around different people. Yk the „oh i wanna impress them so i‘m changing myself“ thing? That? Yeah just make it for everyone and make it more casual

O love shuffles to check character depth. If i know randon shot to look for to make a mood board but still fit them and have like little details: good. My character has depth. If i dont: hust scroll around suggestions for a bit and trust me, your character will get deeper

This isn’t a question, it’s a frighted little statement: I read one, just *one*, of your metas and my head feels odd. Good odd. Emotionally and intellectually moved odd.

I hope the second part of what this says is not taken as insulting because that isn’t the intent: what you wrote felt like I was reading a prose poem, a chant, even. I found myself wondering if indeed the questions and construct you attributed to OFMD was more a beautiful creation which found words because of OFMD, but was already in you, your mind-self, and these questions would have found words even without the inspiration of the show. It might be a little insulting to the writers of the show, me thinking this, but not, I hope, to you. (It was a post on what violence really is. You repeated “What is violence?” and it ended with nose-punching.)

first of all how on earth could i possibly take this as an insult, "this made my head feel odd" is in the top 10 nicest things anyone has ever said to me.

second of all. i am. speechless. this weird prose/poetry/repetitive & disjointed speechpattern thingy is just how i express myself when i have Feelings^tm that aren't easily put into words (hey i even used capital letters and punctuation it wasn't even that weird XD) and idk?? if it would have spilled out like this without the show (or without the brilliant @knowlesian who planted the question "what do we mean when we say violence" in my mind) (or without @eolewyn1010 who assured me it was comprehensible to ppl without access to my brain) (sorry i should have credited you. apologies)??? probably not but maybe yes idk.

anyway.

Role Swap AU Part 4

Disclaimer: The theory that Monoma and Toga are siblings is as far as I know just that. A theory. It’s probably not canon, I personally just like the idea of it.

After fourteen year old Toga (given name witheld out of respect) tries and fails to kill her crush her parents are arrested for emotional and verbal  abuse and the failure to take care of their daughter and her quirk properly, leading to attempted murder. Because of the circumstances and her young age Toga is only sentenced to quirk therapy and what basically amounts to rehab. She begs everyone there to just call her Himiko in an attempt to distance herself from her parents and who they wanted her to be.

Pro hero Vlad King, who has a similiar quirk to hers, takes her under his wing. Half a year later she is adopted by his sister and rechristened Kan Himiko. They try to adopt her younger brother Neito too, but the young boy with a “villainous” quirk has already dissappeared in the cracks of the foster system. 

In Himiko’s second year at UA her class watches and analyses fotage of a fight betwwen heroes and villains. “Hey, Toga-kun! Think you can get us out of here?”, yells an inured villain. Himiko’s heart stops. (No, it can’t be. It can’t be.) “Sure can, dummy”, answers the villain called Toga,”Did you even have to ask?” He turns towards the camera. And Himiko stares right at her little brother’s face.

This Toga is basically AFO light. At the beginning he has the same limitations a canon Monoma (can only store and use one quirk at a time, has a five minute usage limit, loses a stored quirk after five minute usage, can only  copy one part of a quirk) later looses two of them (the storage problems) by “awakening” his quirk.  

 He still acts like he’s above everyone, but now has a less posh speechpattern and more apparent tsundere-tendencies. 

Didn’t always have a suit jacket. It was Zero’s originally, but Toga wanted to feel badass and stole it. (Because he would never ask if he could have it.) Zero says nothing when he sees him in it and just ruffles his hair, so it must be fine. 

You know that tiktok where canon!Toga isn’t allowed to drink wine with the rest of the league because she’s only seventeen? Has absolutely happened in this universe too. But instead of just drinking the apple juice he asks if he can at least have grape juice in a wine glass.

"I work at a university in a department of communications: Sciences and Disorders. My job is to educate undergraduates and graduates who are wanting to become speech-language pathologists, and I am a speech-language pathologist. Currently my areas of clinical involvement and research are in the following: working with individuals who stutter, working with individuals who have a variety of different voice disorders (including transgender voice training), also working with individuals that have speech sound disorders (and that could be little children who are not developing their speech as would be expected for their age), as well as individuals that have some neurological disorder which makes it difficult for them to produce intelligible speech. Speech therapy is a treatment approach that really looks at changing behavior and so it is not something where we are necessarily giving medication or we are doing some sort of massage or something along those lines, but rather teaching some compensatory strategies in a fifty-minute session “x” number of times per month; per week. We are helping individuals learn how to manage a small bit of their motor behavior that becomes more personally relevant and making sure that they can demonstrate change in whatever it is that we are trying to help them with. So, obviously, we have to work with starting out with small bits of behavior and moving, moving, moving… And as with all kinds of therapy it is important that people do whatever practicing in whatever arena they need to do outside of the treatment session, because you cannot just expect that coming twice a week, for an hour each time, is going to be enough to change something that has been going on for fifteen years; twenty years; five years; ten years. So, it really does require commitment on the part of the person and or the part of the parent. "

I don’t think only 5 exist. I think the 5 we saw were just examples of objects Meliodas knew of that goddesses resided in. But he said “the goddesses I know are residing in objects” or something like that. It’s a fact that he knows Nerobasta so the other objects that he remembered might have other goddesses he know in them... I wonder if in one of the Ludociel is residing... Maybe it’s even the one Solaseed has? Damn, Ludociel in the present would be... wow... Nope.So I doubt it’s only the 4 Archangels and the leader. It’s probably only the goddesses Meliodas knows and was in contact with.

The Dutch use Glomgold as Scrooge’s rival (and never use Johnny) and I have no idea if it has anything to do with him being afrikaner... Considering I have never read a Dutch comic that did anything with that and in fact his nationality/ethnicity/where he even lives is generally depicted as vague, like it was in those 80s-90′s Danish comics.

I... think he lives in Duckburg in the Dutch comics?

Can any of you who know Dutch better than me tell me if his speechpatterns or anything imply he is a Boer in the Dutch comics?
