Ch210 (p3), The wind pump

They get to the end of the tunnel on the right.

At first I wondered why they saw the drain and thought it was a dead end until someone heard running water. I guess it's because the water in the drain doesn't move fast enough to make that sound. It could be the river nearby that they hear.

I'd previously blogged about the wind pumps, more commonly called drainage windmills. Norfolk has a lot of them because the land is low-lying and might otherwise be a bit swampy. There are at least four rivers that help to drain the county: Wensum, Yare, Bure, and Ouse. Apparently, these wind pumps draw water away from areas that the rivers can't drain directly... then dump that water into a nearby river.

Artie is first to prepare for the water, and he mentions the mistletoe (parasitic plant). Mabel quickly follows suit, even though she's scared, because she's determined to help the other kids.

But Oliver refuses to leave because he can't swim. Perhaps he's hoping the staff will accept an apology from him if he stays? They don't know what part he's played in their activities, so far, so he could lie to stay alive... a little longer.

Finny rushes at Oliver to take him into the water with him, as staff open fire (which Oliver maybe wasn't expecting so soon, without first being questioned).

And Finny takes a bullet to the left calf, or possibly the shin. He has a bullet wound to his left shoulder from before, so that's two major wounds that are about to end up in the water... which probably isn't too clean. The bleeding will be worse in the water, but that's the only thing that might help keep the wounds from getting too infected. Unless he has healing abilities gained from the drug tests that we still haven't learned about....

We know he's strong, and we know he's tough (endurance), but is there more to it? Can he withstand these kinds of injuries?

And what will happen now that they -- including Oliver -- are in the water?

I'd love for them to make it to the mill. I wonder how long it would take to flood the underground tunnels and chambers (and drown those staff members), if they sabotaged the wind pump.

I'd also love for Mey-Rin and Ran-Mao to show up, on their way to a final meetup point. We don't know the instructions they were given after they completed their missions -- none of them -- so... perhaps they might meet up with Finny (but without Snake) in Norfolk anyway?

I know how the Merlin fandom makes jokes about George, like how Merlin doesn’t like him, and he doesn’t like Merlin, especially how they dressed him to look like Merlin but picture this:

Saw a video had a thought. The fucking maid outfits, right, but with cat ears and tail. They do a show that's kinda like a viewer request thing, and someone requests a line up of everyone in that outfit, and for them to just. Be wearing them through one of those viewer request things.

Google very publically has his own moment about this outfit that ends in him going "you'd have to pay me millions to put that on."

Dark shares a very similar sentiment, but is also very clear about an exact amount to be sent. If the viewers want this, they're going to have to fucking work for it.

A few are very into the idea, obviously, Yan is down, Bing, Wilford, but surprisingly, some of the most okay and ready to do so are Illinois and Host. Neither will explain why.

The next episode rolls around, and yes, in fact, every single one of them is wearing the cat maid outfit. Yes even Google. Many complication videos after have his little "you'd have to pay me millions" line then jump cutting into him all but pouting in the episode with them wearing it.

(Somehow, Host is having the time of his life. It's one of the only episodes where he has to excuse himself to change his bandages not because he was stressed out, but because he had laughed so hard it had soaked his bandages. It's also one of the only episodes where he returns voluntarily after changing his bandages.)

You know that feeling where you see an absolute masterpiece left out in the open for public viewing, but you get like a bittersweet twinge because you have no idea who the artist is? That's how I feel about this ask

Together they quite literally mean 'Great Northern Fortress'. The main definition of Chester also states that it 'can be spotted as a placename element in cities like Manchester', where the institute WAS in this universe.

even if you staunchly stood by emily/fig's suspicion of porter from the beginning, the reveal of porter being a multiclass paladin makes sense when you realize charisma is a paladin's spellcasting ability

this season, porter got both fig and gorgug to eventually warm up to him, and even though fig wrote on his teacher evaluation that she wasn't sure if he was evil or not, both of them gave him all 5's
