//I am so happy the about/backstory turned out readable because that was my biggest aim remaking the doc cuz the old one just wasn't vibing with how hard it was to read for me.
#//dont get me wrong those templates are pretty cool but a lot of them have it hard for people to read#//mostly cuz of how small the text is and if you make it bigger than normal it doesn't look right#//but whats the point in making pages if they are hard to read you know?#out of library ;;#//definitely glad i remade it though cuz i love my own style better.#//even if its just simple i love simplicity.#//it doesn't have to have a lot of pretty graphics to get the point across to me.#//just a standard one.#//but if you enjoy styling your pages with more graphics thats perfectly fine btw#//im just stating for me i enjoy simplicity when making pages and docs

Witchcraft Exercise - Creating Correspondences

There are dozens of plant species in the arsenal of the green witch. Commonly-used varieties and usage varies somewhat between traditions, but most of us are fairly familiar with industry standards like basil, bay, rosemary, sage, and so on.
But what do you do when faced with a plant that has no listed magical correspondences anywhere that you can find in your witchcraft library? Simple - you create some.
Allow me to demonstrate with a little plant I found in my own backyard. It's a common weed called Virginia copperleaf (Acalypha virginica). But despite it's widespread range and abundant growth as a field weed, there are surprisingly few references to the plant in regional folk medicine and none at all that I could find in contemporary witchcraft.
So in order to incorporate this hardy little weed into my practice, I set about creating some correspondences for it.
First, I researched the physical properties of the plant. It is a small annual spurge with long taproots, a resistance to drought and many herbicides, and a reputation for fast growth and being difficult to eradicate from fields due to prolific seeding. The leaves turn coppery-red in the fall and small spiky flowers bloom among the foliage. It is also mildly poisonous. The juice of the plant may cause contact dermatitis or a mild rash in some people and if ingested, it may cause GI symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.
Next, I researched references to the plant in folk medicine. I could only find a single reference that cited copperleaf as a possible diuretic and expectorant. That does track with the previous mention of GI symptoms, but it doesn't mean the plant is safe to use. I did discover that an alternate name for the plant is three-seeded mercury or mercury weed, likely because of its' tendency for fast growth and the fact that it is propagated by the wind.
So now comes the business of creating the correspondences, using the physical properties of the plant as a basis.
The first and most obvious association is strength. Any weed that is resistant to drought and herbicide and uprooting is bound to be useful for spells involving tenacity and fortitude. Prosperity is also a likely use, both because of the name copperleaf and the way in which the plant grows and spreads quickly. Because of the alternate name mercury weed and the wind propagation, it could be used for wind magic or communication spells. (I often associate the element of air with communication and the name of a messenger god is right there as well, but your mileage may vary.)
The plant could also be used as an ingredient for baneful magic, either to bind and frustrate someone's efforts by consuming available ground where their ambitions might grow, or in its' capacity as a mild poison, to cause physical discomfort and stomach trouble.
So in the end, I have a handful of copperleaf and a listing in my witchbook that details the properties of the plant and notes that it could be useful for spells involving strength, tenacity, prosperity, wind, or communication, as well as possible baneful uses including binding, discomfort, and sickness.
This is my system for assigning correspondences to previously-unknown plants, and I encourage readers to use it as a template for their own practices or to create their own system. Either way, I recommend the use of a field guide or plant identification app like PlantNet to properly identify plants as you find them. Remember to forage and harvest responsibly, be a good steward of the land around you, and always label your plant cuttings.
Check out more tips for harvesting local wild plants here.
Happy Witching! 💚🌿

question! im considering doing dividers as gifts for my friends and I was wondering if you had any tips? is it a better idea to hand draw the designs to avoid any potential copyright issues or is using free to distribute clip resources okay?
I know how to draw and do edits just fine I’m just not sure what other graphic artists do in this regard
Hi anon! Okay, so this is going to be a little long winded and maybe stuff you might know about the process, but I hope it’ll be helpful as a guide for others too maybe? Tips under the cut otherwise everyone’s gonna have to scroll through it.
So, for everyone needing some help, I present:
The Official™️ Dividers & Graphics Guide
->For tips on how to use dividers on your posts click here
1. Personally, I LOVE Canva because it has a library of pre-uploaded elements and it’s super easy to use. Like if I search stars hundreds of individual elements come up as results.
(I know some people also use Visme, which I don’t have any real experience with, but it’s an alternative with good reviews.)
As long as you are not claiming each individual element is your own creation, you’re in the clear. People making graphics like these almost always use premade elements and combine or edit them into a unique piece. That being said, if you claim that an individual element is your own, you’ll probably be called out. I don’t know how familiar you are with the community so forgive me if I sound condescending: the graphics/digital art community is a wild place when it comes to plagiarism but it’s good that artists look out for each other.
Anyway. Creators that upload designs/elements/templates to Canva are aware that they can be changed/edited. If you have Canva pro (which I recommend because you can do transparent PNGs so easily) some elements are only available via pro subscription and you’re compensating the creator for the use of the element and however you change it.
Basically, the divider/graphic is yours, but the individual elements are theirs. You don’t need to give credit because it’s like using stamps or stickers. For example: You wouldn’t typically use Lisa frank stickers on a coloring page and then credit Lisa frank in the corner of the paper. ⚠️I strongly urge you to stay away from AI art. Generators steal from artists to create what the user searches for!⚠️
For tips about finding more images click here
2. Hand drawing can get a little tricky. You have to be careful with your dimensions and even file size sometimes. In my personal experience, if you’re new to this type of graphic art you should wait until you’re comfortable with it. It can get confusing. I’ve had MANY graphics come out a blurry, frustrating mess and I’m by no means the best divider maker/graphic artist on the planet.
An extra example: my Cute Coquette set vs my Dark Siren set. Technically, there’s nothing wrong with the coquette ones, but they look fuzzy/blurry. I made them when I was first starting out and I struggled with how to line up the right dimensions. I keep them up because as much as I don’t like how blurry they are, it shows my progress and I’m rather fond of them. It’s not even close to what I do now, like the Dark Sirens, which even zoomed out have a lot of detail but are clear and defined. 🤷🏻♀️

3. To avoid said blurring, I recommend using these canvas sizes:
Banners and headers: 1055px x 500px, I’ve also done 3000px x 500px.
Standard Size Dividers: 3000px x 240px
Thicker/Thinner Dividers: Basically you can go as thin or thick as you want as long as that first number is 3000px. I added a screenshot of ones I’ve used recently that might help.
I think if you’re using software like procreate, the canvas sizes are the same but you’ll have to go through some extra steps if you want to get it into canva or whatever graphic editing software you’re using.

4. Lastly and most importantly, just have fun. Play around with the settings and figure out what works best for you!! You of course can DM me with more questions, but I hope this at least helped a little bit.
🩵🌸
*Edited 2 hours after posting to add personal examples, and this little guide can now be found in my navigation post!*

resources I'm using for studying japanese

vocab/kanji:
wanikani: I use daily reviews to learn kanji and vocabulary using the kanji. This resource isn't free, but this has really helped me stay consistent. I like the UI and find the content helpful
renshuu: this is my favorite mobile app, I use this to learn JLPT-specific vocab and kanji. I use the free version
mochi srs: the best flashcard app! The UI is super easy to use and has lots of shortcuts for making and reviewing cards fast. You can easily create and edit templates for cards, and have cards reference other cards. I have a deck for kanji and one for vocab, and my vocab template references any kanji that are used in the vocab tab. There's also super easy furigana, lots of features for japanese.
grammar:
bunpro: really good for grammar, this has lessons for each grammar rule and divides them into groups through popular textbooks and their own groupings for jlpt grammar
genki textbooks: pretty standard textbook for learning vocab, grammar, and kanji
genki study resources: great site with activities for all the genki lessons
tokini andy genki reviews: extra practice for genki lessons, explains some grammar more clearly, introduces new dialogue.
reading:
japanese folktales for language learners and japanese stories for language learners: folktales are a really great way to learn, because these references come up a lot. I've seen references to urashimo taro in evangelion, and the new pokemon dlc is a reference to momotaro. This book has the japanese on one page and english on the other, with vocabulary after the chapter. (here and here on natively)
animal crossing new leaf tobimori: I've recently started playing this and it's so much fun. I'm already really familiar with the game so I don't depend on any of the text for playing, and it's good for more common expressions, differences in speech between polite/casual/male/female etc. I have a post describing how I'm able to play this here. (here on lingotrack)
listening:
japanese with shun: big fan of this podcast, it's free on spotify and youtube, which scripts on patreon. Each podcast is about a short subject, and they're all in japanese. (here on lingotrack)
learn japanese pod: some free podcasts on spotify with more paid content, this one is both about japanese and in japanese. It will teach phrases for specific scenarios, like ordering sushi or refusing situations.
tracking:
lingotrack: I started time tracking a couple of months ago and it's been so helpful! This site is great for quickly logging study activities and seeing how the time stacks up. It helps me identify which areas I'm spending enough time in and which ones are lacking. I also use the library section for keeping track of my japanese native content
toggl: I use this online stopwatch for tracking the time for different study activities so I can log them in lingotrack. It also has a browser extension which I usually use
finding native content:
natively: excellent site for finding comprehensible input content and tracking days read. This site has a lot of reviews for books so it makes it easy to find books that are on level. You can follow me here
lingotrack: collections in lingotrack provides user generated groups of content so that you can create an see groupings of native material content. There aren't as many reviews for material here as there are for natively though, so I find material there and then add them here. You can follow me here
other:
tofugu: this blog has everything. Use it for finding reviews on japanese language resources, learning grammar rules, etc.
jisho: dictionary app, I use it as my source of truth for vocab and kanji meanings
heisig's remembering the kanji: a different approach to learning kanji, this focuses on first teaching the simplest kanji and building from ones you already know. This is different from wanikani, which will make sure you know (its own) particles before introducing the kanji that uses them, but focuses on learning kanji and vocab in priority order. I'm listing it here because I don't use it much anymore
deepl: ai translator, works much better than google translate. You can also put sentences in chatgpt and ask it for broken down explanations. Take any translations from ai with a grain of salt - they are great tools but do not ensure accuracy
edit 3/10/2024: added tracking and native content sections, added links to lingotrack and natively for media

Lily's responses just completely prove my point about it coming from her small game library. Of course she thinks human cultures are boring in fantasy RPGs, is bc the only fantasy RPGs she's played has boring humans. (Even then I don't know how true that is, bc I've never played WoW or Dragon Age and she has a known history of lying to prove a point.) If she played more fantasy RPGs, like the ones I listed in the previous ask, I'd say she'd see how better writers are able to make interesting human cultures, but let's not kid ourselves, we both know she's just going to mash through all of the cutscenes and dialogue, skip side quests and ignore subtle world building, like architecture and fashion. Because as you point out, she (or at least claims to) hates world building, how would she know what makes a good fantasy culture? Not to mention, (although this point can be said for A Lot of Lily's options, not just the fantasy human culture one) is that she is inherently biased, and is clearly less interested in humans in fantasy RPGs in comparison to the other Fantasy Races.
This ask is written in the style I write lol

World of Warcraft is pretty basic on terms of human cultures in my opinion, they are mostly your standard template European soup culture: Arthurian names, British Accents, War of the Roses style houses, medieval non-separation of church and state
But I think that isnt endemic of being "bad" the truth is she just hates the humans in WoW for... being the main characters she doesn't like and HATES Dragon Age for being mean to da elves
It doesn't GO any deeper than that!

Jealous James
Requested by @im-kikimon - hope this is kind of what you were looking for :)
If anyone has requests or wants more of this AU please lmk I'm begging for feedback
Harriet - James' Pallas cat daemon
Gunnar - Ruby's badger daemon
Setting: the Beaufort twins are staying with the Bells after the mansion drama at the end of season one. (No real spoilers tho dw)
James listened to Kieran Rutherford’s pitch for an Ascot-themed Easter garden party. As outfitters to the King, the Beaufort family attended Ascot every year, and his mother always made every best dressed list.
“And what? We usher in Lexington in a carriage? So many people at Maxton attend Ascot that people would see it for the rip-off it is. You want to ask actual nobility to picnic like the Queen Anne enclosure?” James scoffed.
Rutherford flushed and his shoulders crept up to his ears. “Do… Do you have a better idea?”
The whole room turned to James, who did not, in fact, have a better idea. “I’m saying we can’t imitate something like that. We could keep the dress code and do a standard party - maybe themed with a flower type, hyacinths or something seasonal.” He shrugged, spinning the words out as they came to him.
Silence fell and the tension was thick as James had crushed Rutherford’s hard work a second time. Lin nudged Ruby until she stood up, “Um…” She hugged her notebook to her chest, and suddenly James felt embarrassed; she was clearly uncomfortable because he’d put her in an awkward position, again, without meaning to. He’d just tried to be helpful. “I think you’ve both got good points,” she nodded to herself as an idea formed, “maybe you could work together on this and come back next week with some solid ideas?”
Both boys scowled at her, but she thought it would be good for them to sort out their issues. She smiled and nodded as if they’d just agreed, “Great. Lexington said he’s trying to arrange the keynote speaker so we don’t have the final schedule yet, but they shouldn’t be more than an hour, and if the lunch starts at twelve then we should expect to serve food around one’oh’five.,” she started writing a vague outline on the paper pad, “canapes around six, as it’s a low alcohol event, carriages at nine, latest.”
…
James emailed Rutherford in the car after lacrosse practice:
Hi,
If you send me what you’ve got for the garden party I’ll read it through and email you back with some notes.
James Beaufort
Sent from my iPhone
That should do it. He didn’t particularly want to meet in person.
…
Rutherford sent a link to a Pinterest board later that evening. No message, only the link. James opened it and he realised he hadn’t just been an asshole to Ruby but to Rutherford as well. He could see the guy had put some serious effort into this, and that the Ascot theme was only a template rather than a theme.
He opened his email and started typing out an apology - cc’ing Ruby.
“Coward,” Harriet accused him.
James remembered how Ruby had apologised to him on the lacrosse pitch and deleted the draft.
...
"Hey,” he walked up to Rutherford, “can we talk about the garden party?”
Rutherford looked at the ground, “Yeah.”
‘Go on’ Harriet urged James with a glare.
“I apologise for being rude to you at the meeting. You clearly put a lot of work into the project and it was wrong of me to stomp on it like that.”
“Yannow, it always annoys me in those stories when the nice girl picks the hot guy who treats her like shit over the boring guy who really likes her.”
‘Yikes,’ James thought. He hadn’t been expecting that. “You think I treat her like shit?”
“You have.”
James exhaled, ‘yep, deserved that one. Wait, what does he know?’
“But…” Rutherford spoke up again, “I admit I’m blindsided by your apology. I think we can at least try to work together.” He pushed his glasses further up his nose.
James was stunned. He nodded, “Library? Breaktime?”
“Yeah, I prefer the desk third from the door by the east window. There’s a squirrel drey in the tree right next to it.”
“Third desk from the door by the east window. Got it.”
James glanced at the empty desks near the windows; Rutherford wasn’t here yet. He pulled out his phone and checked the compass app before walking to the eastern side. He sat down at the third from the door and opened up his tablet. He’d made a folder in his sketchbook app last night of different things to go with the theme; invitations, drinks stands, signage, all sorts.
“Did you see the squirrel? It’s a Eurasian red squirrel, pretty rare for around here.”
James looked up as Rutherford sat down and hoped that his disinterest in all things squirrel wasn’t all over his face. “Couldn’t spot it.”
“That branch fork right there,” Rutherford leaned over the table and pointed to a nondescript cluster of twigs.
James nodded, “ahh” and angled his tablet so Rutherford could see it. “I liked the muted colours idea. That was clever. Lydia told me lupins are in season and they come in all sorts of colours, so I thought we could use those as a theme. I sketched an invitation.” He flicked through the app to his ‘sketch’ which had actually taken him ages.
Rutherford took it all in, “That looks really good. Can you mass-produce the invitation?”
“Not by hand, but we could have them printed or send it as an e-invite.”
Rutherford scrunched his nose and shook his head as if James was an amateur, “Paper. Always paper. We send an email to remind them to RSVP anyway, no use clogging their inbox.”
“If you’re okay with it I’ll send a photo to Ruby for her approval?”
“Uh, better on the group chat, the food people might want to put extra details on there and I was thinking about asking Lexington if we could use the conservatory in case it rains. That way we can have a garden or indoor party easily.”
“Good idea.” James added a new plain slide titled, ‘conservatory party rain’.
“And I wondered about an easter egg hunt. If you find an egg, you put your name on it and then you enter it into a raffle. Winner wins champagne or something.”
“Yeah. I can see that working. Where would we get the prize?”
“If you could design a fancy label, maybe we could re-label some champagne or something. Make it one of a kind.”
James nodded. He’d been forced to endure many events with some of these parents; they love the challenge of something they can’t buy. Rumour had it one of them bought a jar of honey for fifteen thousand pounds at a Tory charity gala. “That’ll do it. I’ll get on that. We have some easter eggs at my house from past Easter parties. I’ll ask the housekeeper if we can borrow those.”
Rutherford glanced at his watch, “I’ve gotta go, but it was good chatting with you, Beaufort.”
James stuck out his hand, “James. Thank you for being so decent about all this...” He made a vague gesture with his other hand.
Rutherford shook his hand, “Kieran.”
A few days later:
(Callum is an OC, and Percy (and an SUV) are assigned to chauffeur the Bells and Beauforts around while the twins stay with them. Mortimer sees it as a way of keeping them supervised, but not underfoot.)
James bit back a cringe as he watched Kieran present his and James’ party ideas to Ruby, (the whole committee was present, but he talked to Ruby as if they weren’t) desperate for a ‘good boy’ and a pat on the head or something. Pathetic.
When Ruby stood up, she thanked him ’so much’ for working with James on this, and how wonderful it was to have such ‘a cohesive committee working forward’ - or something like that. James was focussed on the way Rutherford was looking at her, like she was the only thing that mattered in the whole world.
James knew on some level that Kieran Rutherford was somewhat of a decent bloke. Just one with an insane crush on his girlfriend. And it was starting to irritate him.
He felt Harriet pawing at his ankle, “she verbally eviscerated you at Oxford,” she hissed, “keep it to yourself.”
‘Amazing how much you sound like him, like your father’, James realised Ruby was right; that was probably how his father would have dealt with it.
…
When Percy dropped Ruby and the twins back at the Bells, James got out of the back seat and slid into the front passenger seat. Percy regarded him calmly; he always spoke second.
“Percy. Could you give me some advice?”
Percy undid his seatbelt and shifted to fully face James, “Certainly, Sir.”
”There’s a boy on the events committee who clearly fancies Ruby. And, I’m… struggling to watch them interact.”
“You feel jealous when he talks to Ruby?” Percy clarified.
Jealousy sounded childish to James. Straight out of one of those awful romance books Lydia used to read. But, he realised that was exactly it. Jealousy. He nodded.
“What do you need my advice on?” Percy wasn’t sure if James needed any more advice; sometimes as a kid he just needed help identifying what he was feeling and then he’d work it out himself.
“Last time, with someone else, I lashed out, and…” He didn’t want to admit it, but if he could admit it to anyone, it was Percy, “Ruby said I sounded like dad.” He looked at the textured dials as he held his head in shame.
“Communication is the foundation of any relationship. You each need to communicate your feelings and be vulnerable with each-other. Tell her how you’re feeling, but be mindful that the committee is an obligation to her, and he might be too.”
James reflected on the interactions he’d seen between Ruby and Rutherford. “I’ve never seen her reciprocate. She’s pretty closed off around him.” The more James thought, he realised Percy was probably right. The logical conclusion was that James didn’t have anything to be jealous about, but… ugh, it’s still there. Just a bit.
“Sir, have you officially asked her to be your girlfriend yet?”
James frowned and looked at Percy as if it was a forgone conclusion that she was.
Percy smiled softly. “Ask her.”
James nodded to himself. He could do that. He’d get her flowers too; he’d seen how happy that one rose made her. Angus had too. “Should I ask her father before?”
“Before you marry her, Sir.” Percy was really doing his best not to laugh, but the way James flushed really tested him.
…
James bought some flowers on his way back from his next run with Callum. Angus gave him a knowing look as he crept into the kitchen with the bouquet.
“These are for Ruby. Where can I hide them while I shower?”
“There’s a vase in that cabinet,” Angus pointed to a cabinet. When James put it down on the counter Angus had a pair of scissors. “Giving a woman flowers like this,” he tugged at the wrapping paper, “is giving her a task. Giving them flowers in a vase means she just has to enjoy them.”
He proceeded to teach James how to cut and arrange flowers in a vase, making sure to add the plant food sachet to the water. “As for hiding them, you can put them in our bedroom for a while with the door closed.”
“Thank you.” He hadn’t even thought about the ‘giving her a task’ bit. Now he knew Ruby would ‘only have to enjoy them’ he was looking forward to asking her even more.
He ran upstairs and placed the vase just inside the doorframe of Helen and Angus’ bedroom before heading to the bathroom.
…
“Ruby”
Ruby and Gunnar both looked up from her manga to see James in her bedroom doorway, hiding something behind his back, it was cute.
All the practice James had definitely not done in the shower left him. He came to stand right next to the bed, stalling for time.
“I haven’t done this before, so I wanted to make sure we’re on the same page.” He saw Ruby’s brows furrow and quickly held the flowers out for her before she got the wrong idea, “Will you be my girlfriend?”
Ruby’s face was frozen in a delightfully surprised, open-mouthed smile, “Yes!” She set the flowers on the bedside table and hugged him tightly. James hooked his chin over her head and breathed in deeply, glad it had gone well. Would have been a bit awkward if it hadn’t. He saw Harriet and Gunnar curling up together on the bed and sighed as the extra feeling of intimacy washed over him.
…
“Ruby, can I ask you something?”
She gave him a look which screamed ‘you just did.’
“Is there, or has there ever been anything between you and Kieran? I’ve seen the way he talks to you, and while I’ve never seen you reciprocate… I just wondered…”
Ruby shook her head easily, “No. Nothing between us, I know he’s got a crush on me but hasn’t made any moves and I’m not interested in him. He’ll get the message, especially with you around.”
James was surprised that that was good enough for him. ‘Guess Percy was spot on on both accounts.’ He thought to himself. Harriet only moved her head in a way that said ‘told you so’.

C++ Programming Language – A Detailed Overview
C++ is a effective, high-overall performance programming language advanced as an extension of the C language. Created via Bjarne Stroustrup at Bell Labs in the early Eighties, C++ delivered object-orientated features to the procedural shape of C, making it appropriate for large-scale software program development. Over the years, it has emerge as a extensively used language for machine/software program improvement, game programming, embedded systems, real-time simulations, and extra.
C ++ Online Compliers
C++ combines the efficiency and manage of C with functions like classes, items, inheritance, and polymorphism, permitting builders to construct complex, scalable programs.
2. Key Features of C++
Object-Oriented: C++ supports object-orientated programming (OOP), which include encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism.
Compiled Language: Programs are compiled to machine code for overall performance and portability.
Platform Independent (with Compiler Support): Though not inherently platform-unbiased, C++ programs can run on a couple of structures when compiled therefore.
Low-Level Manipulation: Like C, C++ permits direct reminiscence get right of entry to thru suggestions.
Standard Template Library (STL): C++ consists of powerful libraries for facts systems and algorithms.
Rich Functionality: Supports functions like feature overloading, operator overloading, templates, and exception dealing with.
3. Structure of a C++ Program
Here’s a primary C++ program:
cpp
Copy
Edit
#encompass <iostream>
the use of namespace std;
int important()
 cout << "Hello, World!" << endl;
return zero;
Explanation:
#encompass <iostream> consists of the enter/output stream library.
Using namespace std; allows using standard capabilities like cout without prefixing std::.
Foremost() is the access point of every C++ program.
Cout prints textual content to the console.
Four. Data Types and Variables
C++ has both primitive and user-defined statistics types. Examples:
cpp
Copy
Edit
int a = 10;
glide b = 3.14;
char c = 'A';
bool isReady = true;
Modifiers like short, lengthy, signed, and unsigned extend the information sorts’ range.
5. Operators
C++ supports, !
Assignment Operators: =, +=, -=, and many others.
Increment/Decrement: ++, --
Bitwise Operators: &,
cout << "a is greater";
else
cout << "b is extra";
Switch Case:
cpp
Copy
Edit
transfer (desire)
case 1: cout << "One"; ruin;
case 2: cout << "Two"; smash;
default: cout << "Other";
Loops:
For Loop:
cpp
Copy
Edit
for (int i = zero; i < five; i++)
cout << i << " ";
While Loop:
cpp
Copy
Edit
int i = 0;
at the same time as (i < five)
cout << i << " ";
i++;
Do-While Loop:
cpp
Copy
Edit
int i = zero;
do
cout << i << " ";
i++;
whilst (i < 5);
7. Functions
Functions in C++ growth modularity and reusability.
Cpp
Copy
Edit
int upload(int a, int b)
go back a + b;
int major()
cout << upload(three, 4);
return 0;
Functions may be overloaded via defining multiple variations with special parameters.
Eight. Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
OOP is a chief energy of C++. It makes use of instructions and objects to represent real-international entities.
Class and Object Example:
cpp
Copy
Edit
magnificence Car
public:
string logo;
int pace;
void display()
cout << brand << " velocity: " << pace << " km/h" << endl;
int main()
Car myCar;
myCar.Emblem = "Toyota";
myCar.Pace = 120;
myCar.Show();
go back zero;
9. OOP Principles
1. Encapsulation:
Binding facts and features into a unmarried unit (elegance) and proscribing get admission to the usage of private, public, or blanketed.
2. Inheritance:
Allows one magnificence to inherit properties from another.
Cpp
Copy
Edit
elegance Animal
public:
void talk() cout << "Animal sound" << endl;
;
class Dog : public Animal
public:
void bark() cout << "Dog barks" << endl;
; three. Polymorphism:
Same characteristic behaves in a different way primarily based at the item or input.
Function Overloading: Same feature name, special parameters.
Function Overriding: Redefining base magnificence method in derived magnificence.
Four. Abstraction:
Hiding complicated information and showing handiest vital capabilities the usage of training and interfaces (abstract training).
10. Constructors and Destructors
Constructor: Special approach known as while an item is created.
Destructor: Called whilst an item is destroyed.
Cpp
Copy
Edit
magnificence Demo
public:
Demo()
cout << "Constructor calledn";
~Demo()
cout << "Destructor calledn";
;
11. Pointers and Dynamic Memory
C++ supports tips like C, and dynamic memory with new and delete.
Cpp
Copy
Edit
int* ptr = new int; // allocate reminiscence
*ptr = 5;
delete ptr; // deallocate memory
12. Arrays and Strings
cpp
Copy
Edit
int nums[5] = 1, 2, three, 4, 5;
cout << nums[2]; // prints 3
string name = "Alice";
cout << call.Period();
C++ also supports STL boxes like vector, map, set, and many others.

cpp
Copy
Edit
transfer (desire)
case 1: cout << "One"; ruin;
case 2: cout << "Two"; smash;
default: cout << "Other";
Loops:
For Loop:
cpp
Copy
Edit
for (int i = zero; i < five; i++)
cout << i << " ";
While Loop:
cpp
Copy
Edit
int i = 0;
at the same time as (i < five)
cout << i << " ";
i++;
Do-While Loop:
cpp
Copy

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe Book Review
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe - ⭐⭐⭐
Review Under The Cut
This book took me over a month to finish which is very unusual for me. I realise now, looking back that it just wasn’t something I looked forward to reading by the end.
I really did want to enjoy it, it had such a beautiful cover and I adore small town novels especially in the fall but I just felt by the end it quite lackluster.
The characters were continuously getting in their own way, it seemed like as soon as one got over their shit the other would start back up with theirs. There was too much internal conflict keeping them apart and not enough external conflict which is why this felt boring and immensely frustrating. I didn’t feel like the reasons they used for keeping their relationship a secret really mattered, there was no stakes to make it exciting.
A lot of the dialogue/scenes felt very templated and generic to me, like something we’d seen in a thousand times before in movies and books. It didn’t really stand out and there were some repeated phrases which I would term as the author’s signature. (Everyone has one but it’s important to be aware of it.)
The analogies are where this author really excels as well as her ability to create a wonderful small town vibe. The description of the farm and Logan’s animals and grandparents honestly warmed my heart. ❤️
It’s the main characters that are the problem because they don’t quite feel like their own entity, which is why there’s issues with the dialogue. You could have switched out the character to Hazel or Annie and the dialogue would still be the same because it wasn’t unique to Jeanie’s/Logan’s personalities or vocal cadence, it’s just something that’s standardized in the genre.
The mystery throughout about who was messing with Jeanie was the one thing that kept me going with this book and it was very disappointing to discover the culprit and the reasoning behind it. It was something the reader could deduce almost immediately.
I have bought the other books in the series but I think I’ll be donating them all to the library without reading them. These books weren’t for me but I’m know there’s a lot of other people who will get a lot of joy out of them.

A systematic approach
Squarespace Blueprint AI is a great substitute if none of the options in its template library seem appropriate or if you’re unsure of where to begin. You can choose each component separately rather than from a list of pre-made templates.
What are the benefits of Squarespace Blueprint AI?
Squarespace Blueprint AI helps you get started with a website that is specifically tailored to your company’s needs and brand. Because of its adaptability, you can change the content and design of your website whenever necessary.

Simply add your content, links, and images to the pages you’re ready to share, then click publish to make your website publicly accessible. Pages can be added, changed, deleted, or hidden at any moment.
When should you start from the template library?
You still get the greatest, most innovative website development experience when you customize a pre-made design.
Using the template collection as a starting point could be ideal if you:
Keep a certain purpose in mind
From portfolio websites to alternatives for restaurants, events, and beauty, the template library offers sections for a variety of use cases and sectors. Starting with a pre-made template design could be easier if your website falls neatly into one of those categories.
Prefer a different type of guidance
You can change and personalize the placeholder sections and pages included in a pre-built design, giving you a clear idea of which elements belong where.
View a template that reflects your style:
Don’t be afraid to start customizing if a template in its library contains the pages or features you require and matches the style of your company or brand.
How to start with Squarespace Blueprint AI
When is the best time to begin using the template library?
To begin using the guided design system, go to the AI website builder and follow these instructions.
Make an account with Squarespace. From your account dashboard, you may make changes to your website, add e-commerce and appointment features, and more.
Give your website a name. Your brand or business name is a nice place to start for most, but you can modify it later. Try its free business name generator if you need some ideas.
Choose a personality for your brand. Choose the personality type that most closely resembles the style of your brand, whether it be professional or eccentric.
Create your home page. Add sections for items, social network accounts, featured content, a contact form, and more, and decide how you want to present your brand.
Include more pages. Include sections that you are certain you will need, such as a comprehensive about page, contact page, online store, or a list of your services. As you work, you’ll be able to see how your pages will appear.
Select a color scheme. Choose from color schemes created by talented designers. If you run a mindfulness-based business, for instance, Design Intelligence will recommend colors that are neutral and align with the vibe you want people to get from your brand and website.
Choose your typefaces. Select typefaces that are serif, sans serif, or a combination of the two. Similar to your color scheme, you will be given carefully chosen combinations to try out in order to select one that complements your branding. For instance, a company that has a more lively image would benefit from using a bold, sans serif typeface.
Ask an AI to help. After you make your selections, Squarespace AI will create pre-filled site language and visuals that are customized to your brand’s personality. You may always adjust your brand personality or re-generate any pre-filled material.
Once everything is complete, publish. Using the Squarespace Website Builder, add unique photos, page names, and other content to give your bespoke website a finishing touch.
Keep in mind that you can always publish the homepage first, then wait to publish the remaining pages while you finish refining them. Once your website is up, you can return at any time to make adjustments.

Actually, I've now tried C++ and I'm actually having lots of fun :3
So I shall take back all my slander :3
Hehe :3. Another person converted to C++, my professor would be proud of me.
Just in case you didn't know, cppreference will be your biggest friend, it's a very nice documentation of all the built in classes. I have at least 10 different tabs of cppreference open whenever I code in C++. It also has some information about the basic concepts of the library. RAII for example is a very cool concept, which is used in all the standard libraries. The other concept I know is "The curiously recurring template pattern", I never used it but I think the name sounds funny and it's very useful if you need it.
Also every time you think to yourself "I know how to fix this in C" that's the devil talking. When I started learning C++, I wrote some weird amalgam of C++ code with C library functions, which would make C and C++ developers cry out in similar amounts of pain upon seeing it

Annon-Guy: What makes or breaks a Guest Character for you?
I know you focus on the main cast and all, but when a Guest does show up, how do you feel about them?
Feel free to use the Guests from Soul Calibur as an example. I know Link and Ezio are the most well received while Yoda, Dark Vader and Starkiller get shafted on.
Honestly, I haven't had much reason to complain about the guest characters I've been presented.
In Soul Calibur's case, we actually got VERY GOOD representation for a lot of guest characters (Bandai Namco and Project Soul were pretty skillful in that regard).
I'd argue that Spawn's presence in Soul Calibur is actually dwarfed by how he was presented in Mortal Kombat 11, to be honest.
If they managed to sneak Spawn in Guilty Gear, I'd go crazy... hahaha...
Samurai Shodown's Guest characters (i.e. Baiken/Warden/etc) were "simplified" to better suit the game's mechanics, and while that's something some people might complain about... in Samurai Shodown's case, "simpler is better" in a lot of ways. Even for Baiken in that game... she felt very solid in the game itself (well maybe not as versatile as she was in Accent Core or Xrd, but those are the peak of GG, and are hard to compare to).
I'd argue Soul Calibur IV's DLC wasn't the problem... the gameplay elements and mechanics were the larger issue.
Yoda is... well he's a mild amusement... Soul Calibur IV got mixed responses on a GOOD day... but people still loved Starkiller and Darth Vader regardless.
Yoda is the "Kliff Undersn" of Soul Calibur, if you can believe it... tiny character, awkward hitboxes, silly hits and combos... but DESPITE ALL THIS... he is very lore-accurate to the films that depicted Yoda in Combat in the Star Wars series (which is funnily ironic.)
I'd argue that they could've chose Boba Fett or the Mandalorian and got a stronger response, but that's Star Wars for you.
Honestly, I'm a huge fan of Jedi Survivor and Jedi Fallen Order, but that's a different story.
Soul Calibur IV itself suffered under its own mechanics and features, the Tower of Trials it had was some of the hardest content ever seen in an SC game, to be honest... not nearly as fun as Libra of Souls.
I'd say the character DLC wasn't the problem with that game... the mechanics of the weapons and the unlockables needed more to be improved upon.
In terms of visuals though, Soul Calibur IV is still one of the prettiest SC games (SC6 wasn't nearly as bright, but it also had a lot more stable features and played at a faster pace like SCII and SCIII are better known for being).
SCIV also didn't have an extensive museum/library like SC6 does, so that right there should tell you something.
Also SCIV had a ton of guest characters beyond the DLC and many of which looked nothing like standard Soul Calibur cast, some were straight out of an anime (Angol Fear), which was jarring to compare to at the time, since most SC characters look semi-realistic.
My standard for guests boils down to how well they fit in with everyone else in the roster... if they stand out like a sore thumb but can still scrap well in a fight, I guess that's fine for some people, but for me I don't necessarily want to be embarrassed by my friends when I decide to pick a character.
Angol Fear definitely stands out, however a character like Ashlotte was inspired.

It was Ito Ōgure who came up with her design, but as a result we got the Clockwork Doll character creation template later on in Soul Calibur 6... and many fans have appreciated it.
(By the way, Ashlotte is still one of my favorite SC designs as well.)
You could argue that 2B is the "next big step" in that aesthetic and genre, though in her case it's a bit more complex.
2B is also a guest character in Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising now, which is also nice to hear, I'd argue that Granblue is the 2D equivalent of Soul Calibur (and given the staff that created the game were former Project Soul Staff, that should be obvious).
Even if Harada once stated that Project Soul had to be disbanded in order to make a game like Tekken 8 possible, I still believe that everyone who was behind Soul Calibur as a series would love to work on something similar in the future... it was that great a concept.
Ultimately, when it comes to fighting games, you have certain themes you want to make present... and when including guests in to that theme, you want to make sure they mesh well overall.
Of course, that doesn't just apply to fighting games, but to every game that has that level of potential.
Despite the fact many might consider Soul Calibur dead and buried... MY SOUL STILL BURNS.
