Bishova Holiday Challenge 2024 - Rules and Prompt Ideas!

Background History:

On November 24 it will be three years since Marvel brought the Hawkeye series to the little screen. 6 episodes and 5 weeks of getting to know Kate Bishop with a hint of Yelena Belova. Despite having less than 45 minutes of screen time their chemistry was explosive. Since then, amazing fanfiction writers around the world have created amazing stories about these two. So, with the anniversary of the show coming up, I decided to bring back the Bishova Holiday Challenge.

After a month of voting the Bishova Community has spoken. Below you will find the 5 top themes/prompt ideas. We had 728 votes, which is crazy. I want to thank all the writers, and fans who voted. I want to thank Oh Alpha My alpha discord friends. Who voted and came up with some of the ideas. The remaining prompts that did not win will be reposted just as prompt ideas for the public.

Rules:

This year the challenge will be 6 weeks with the last week being the writers’ choice.

These prompts will have mini-ideas attached to them but you do not have to follow them to tea, just stick to the general theme.

The stories must be posted on A03. Use #BISHOVAHOLIDAYCHALLENGE2024 & Week # for which week was written for

Only can be 1-3 chapters long while the challenge is up. After the challenge if you want to continue them, please do.

You can prewrite your stories and co-write them with others. But they cannot be published before the challenge.

It is encouraged that you participate in all 6 weeks to be eligible for the prize but if you can’t it’s all good.

Also to be considered for the top Grand winners you can’t miss a week. So if you miss week 1, you can still participated and try to be a weekly winner but you will not be eligible for the Grand Prize over the whole challenge.

There will be 6 weekly winners. After each week I will create a poll with the stories that qualified, and readers can pick the winner. The winners get bragging rights. 

After all, 6 weeks are done the writers who participated in all 6 weeks and followed the rules will be entered on a poll to qualify as the top 3 winners of the WHOLE CHALLENGE, voted on by the fans.

It is not completely finalized, and it can still fall through but right now I am working on getting art pieces for the top three winners.

Week 1: Nov 10th – Nov 16th - Grinchmas (Idea Credit – Chi_Raven) (Suggested Rating – G) Yelena gets a part time gig as a mall Grinch. She does it too well and ends up on Kate Bishop’s Naughty list daughter of Santa Clause or Yelena dresses up as the Grinch and runs around scaring kids.

Week 2: Nov 17th – Nov 23rd – Fake Dating Winter Love – (Idea Credit MidnightJuilet) (Suggested Rating G-E) Yelena created a fake girlfriend to attend her ex’s winter wedding. Enter Kate Bishop!

Week 3: Nov 24th – Nov 30th -Eggnog Love – (Idea Credit MidnightJuilet) (Suggested Rating E) The villain of the week spikes the eggnog at the Holiday Party with liquid sex pollen. Freakiness ensues!

Week 4: Dec 1st – Dec 7th- Lumberjack Christmas - (Idea Credit MidnightJuilet) (Suggested Rating G - E) Kate goes to the mountains to get away and meets her mountain woman!

Week 5: Dec 8th – Dec 14th -Winter Blaze Saved by the Sexy firefighter (Idea Credit CelticKitten25 & DYL) (Suggested Rating G - E) Yelena wakes up to her apartment on fire out of nowhere a short buff fire fighter comes in with her one-eyed dog to rescue her and her akita. And she is only wearing a nightie.

Week 6: 16th – Dec 21st – Writer’s Choice

Storyausschnittchallenge

Nachdem ich im Dezember an der Buchchallenge von BoD teilgenommen habe, springe ich diese Woche auf den Zug der Storychallenge von buchbummelant und annaweydt auf. Ziel ist es sieben Tage lang etwas über seine Story zu schreiben und heute geht es direkt mit Frage eins: Wer ist der Protagonist? los.

Protagonistin der Lotte Reihe ist Lotte. Beziehungsweise Charlotte Grottinger. Alleinerziehende Mutter von Reagan. Nach einer bewegten Vorgeschichte, mit früh verstorbenen Eltern und einem Leben als Wanderpokal unter der reizenden Verwandtschaft, ist ihr Leben nach der Scheidung von ihrem vermögenden Ehemann zu einem stabilen Stillstand in einer Kleinstadt gekommen. Leider ist Stillstand nicht immer das, was man will, wie Charlotte feststellt, als sie für ihre Freundin Sania das Interview mit Thomas Donoghue, seines Zeichens Filmstar und Optimist, übernimmt. Das Interview mit Tom öffnet die Tür zu einer Welt, mit der Charlotte glaubte bereits abgschlossen zu haben und es führt ihr vor Augen, wie langweilig und leer ihr Leben ist. Die Schönste und Schlaueste zu sein ist, ohne Konkurrenz, manchmal nicht so amüsant und befriedigend, wie man meinen könnte. Und zu guter Letzt ist nicht nur die Zufriedenheit Charlottes mit ihrem bisherigen Leben in Gefahr, sondern bald auch ihr Herz. Dabei hatte sie sich nach der Scheidung von ihrem Mann geschworen nicht noch mal so dumm zu sein, dass in Gefahr zu bringen.

Für alle, die jetzt neugierig geworden sind und sich ein Bild von Charlotte machen wollen, folgt einfach dem Link. Der bringt euch direkt zu Lotte. Und wer sagt, er möchte noch mehr wissen und Lotte allein reicht nicht, dann schaut morgen wieder vorbei, da beantworte ich die Frage nach dem besten Freund des Protagonisten, beziehungsweise nach der besten Freundin.

Don’t let this one get away, she thought to herself. Tom had the look of a man quietly planning his escape. Christine watched him closely as he...

...rounded the corner, stopping briefly to glance back. There was something about Tom that she fell drawn to and to think....”No.” She told herself as she emerged from behind the magazine stand.

She pushed her thoughts away as she crossed the street, hidden by the lunch rush. The crowd offered enough cover for her to maneuver freely and cut some distance.

Tom pauses at the corner and checks his watch. “Goddamit she’s late.” He turns around and comes face to face with Christine. She stands no more than a few feet from him. They stare at each other for what seems like an eternity for both. Tom breaks the silence. “So this is it huh?”

Before Christine has a second to respond, Tom breaks into a full on sprint crossing oncoming traffic. Screeching brakes ring throughout, followed by a sea of horns as Christine interweaves.

“WATCH OUT!”

Christine goes down hard, having had the wind knocked out from her. She looks up to see the messenger on the hood of a car. A crowd starts forming around them. She scans around and sees Tom in the distance talking to a taxi driver. Feeling the overwhelming amount of people around her aggressively trying to keep her from fleeing the scene, she takes a deep breath and lets out a ear piercing shriek. 

Windows shatters. Car alarms sound off. 

She uses the confusion to slip away. She turns to run towards the taxi, but Tom is no longer there. He’s running towards the subway entrance. 

Christine goes to run, but a sharp pain stabs her side. Refusing to let Tom escape she grabs her side and slowly descends the stairs. She comes across the platform. There’s no one else except the bleeding attendant at the information desk and Tom. 

Tom stands on the platform across the railroad tracks. Christine walks up and stands directly across.

“You’ll never get it. They’ll make sure of it.”

He waves his fingers at her. Christine realizes that she’s been duped.

Unable to contain the rage and frustration building inside she lets out a blood curling scream, but this one filled with pain and remorse. It’s not until she opens her eyes that she sees the the nightmare laying before her.

Alternate Ending

A while ago there was a challenge to write an alternate ending to a book being read in my book club. I wrote for the challenge but missed the deadline to submit. I came across it today and decided I would share. I thought it was an ok attempt but the book was written so well it was hard to follow.

Looking out of the window of our living room I was transported back to the moment where Nicole fully submitted to a higher calling and trusted me implicitly. I remember how the waters of the river washed over her cacao skin as she was bathed in a new life. My beloved, my gift, my love, and now the mother of my child. “Pastor Georgetown are you ready?” I heard the slight playfulness in Nicole’s voice as she called my attention from my memory. “Beloved, I’ve told you I don’t like that particular moniker coming from you”, I growled before realizing she was needling me. Her eyes rolled and air was sucked through her teeth before an agitated and sarcastic, “Yes Pastor Georgetown” escaped her moist lips. “Nicole!” I barked and she stared directly at me and responded with a tone of affirmation, “Kitten”. She was being insufferable. It became evident quickly my Kitten was being purposefully defiant. I knew I had to shift the air between us before my bulge became uncomfortable against my pants. “Has J.J. been put to bed already?” Nicole nodded a silent yes with hooded eyes and breaths getting more deep and palatable by the minute. My beloved desired the beast tonight. With great effort I was able to prolong our exchange. It had been months since we journeyed to The Room and I knew tonight I would have to take her there. “I need to see our son before we leave this space”. “Yes, Pass….” She quickly started to reply before I cut her response short. “That’s enough Kitten! Go wait for me nooow.” I growled. She would be punished nicely for the stunt she pulled but I was going to make her wait in anticipation. She exited as instructed and I decided to finish my reflection before I was interrupted.

It had been good while it lasted. Walt was an absolute creative powerhouse. I spent my first few months at Disney in absolute awe of him and what he had done for me. On reflection it’s quite embarrassing. He took me to the very top, he made my silhouette the logo for christ sake. 

And I ruined everything. 

I’m such a cliche; young star who gets a taste of the good life and can’t handle it. I was on more than top footballers. The Disney parties were unlike anything you’ll ever see, I can tell you that much. I didn’t know there were cameras at that party. It was all so stupid. My ego was what did it, I just had to boast about where I got the drugs from. Why did I mention Walt’s name. I will never forgive myself, I ruined not only my life, but his. I ruined his families life, his business, the lives of his employees. The worst thing is the fact it was Minnie who turned me in. She saw the video. I was all over the girls from the candy floss stand that night, it’s all such an awful cliche.
