ummm, i know it says academic in the title, but unfortunately, i’m not very book smart. i take business studies, drama and theatre studies and german. making me a very, not STEM and not lawyer boss babe. but it’s okay, because in my free time, i can cultivate my housewife skills for my future rich hubby whilst my besties are revising for the UCAT or LNAT or whatever smart people study for other than their a levels.

below, i have a few essentials that i deem essential when it comes to school life. i’ll totes do a what’s in my bag super duper soon!

ipad/laptop (or any digital device, phones are totally cute too!!)

textbook (i use mine online xx)

flashcards (i use online and hand written ones, for different revision methods)

notebook (cuz i can’t do digi notes yet :( )

popper wallets (to organise your notes)

super cute pencil case with essentials - pens, pencils, highlighters, eraser, sharpener, colouring pens, scissors, glue and lip gloss! (the last one is totally important)

planner (i use a digi one but i’m starting to convert to a irl one)

i promise i’ll do a personalised one and a day in my life so you can see how these are used in action!! xxxxx

What Essential Items I Think College Students Should Get

Of course this is entirely based on my needs, so you don't have to get these exact items! Also, feel free to add on in the comments below!

backpack with a power bank connector (i have this one)

corkboard to put on your wall in front of your desk to pin your important reminders, assignments, and due dates

desk lamp (i found a simple lamp, led lamp with a charger, and led lamp with a charger and a clock)

electronics/cords organizer pouch (especially if you have a crap-ton of chargers for your electronics)

noise-cancelling headphones (i feel like this is almost a non-negotiable)

plug extension cord with USB and C ports (this is the skinniest and least bulky-looking one i could find on amazon)

power bank (especially if you have long commutes or certain buildings in your campus don't have enough outlets)

walking into work tomorrow for the staff training day after i got rejected for the job i was near guaranteed to get and didn’t find out the news from my boss who i was with the whole morning in TUTOR PLANNING DAY FOR NEXT YR FOR TUTORIALS THAT TUTORS WOULD BE DOING THAT I WAS BOOKED INTO WITH THE TUTORS THE ROLE I APPLIED FOR AND HAD A VERY GOOD INTERVIEW FOR i found out from a noreply auto generated email from hr that was sent out as soon as i stepped out of the meeting room :) and then got invited back to the meeting for the rest of the day where my manager repeatedly talked about taking my good ideas from my interview and implementing them into tutorials next yr. after i got rejected via generated email. How we doing guys 😆

hate to admit but if i went through something like that i'd definitely be jackie in the sense that i'd be as useless as her. the difference is: i wouldn't die as pathetically as her because first of all i wouldn't be picking fights or annoying people out there no matter the reason i'd be like Ok whatever we have bigger fish to fry rn . also since day 1 i'd try not to seem useless i'd be asking around all the time if people needed help with anything etc etc . after noticing i'm terrible at everything everyone would be like Your job is to sit under a tree and listen to the birds singing while appreciating nature. Okay 💗 Yay 💗. i'd die after drawing the queen card at some point and they wouldn't even need to run that much during the hunt thing because i get tired fast so i'd be caught within 3 minutes and everyone would eat me

being a university instructor is actually really hard bc I want nothing more than to be nice and accommodating and understanding with my students, but like. baby I can lead a horse to water but I can't make it drink!!

#my class grades are essentially effort based too #im not grading students on the 'goodness' of their writing but rather marking their assignments complete or incomplete #based on if they followed the proper format of the assignment #and then i give feedback and give all students an opportunity to revise and resubmit for a complete grade #and final course grades are based on grading contracts so students decide what grade they wanna work towards #and then complete the assignments associated with that grade #and honestly i am very lax with my grading and feedback #the only way to fail this course is to turn nothing in #but like a fifth or sixth of my class is failing rn bc they havent turned anything in despite me trying to work with them #and it's like. i feel bad but having them email me NOW with less than 2 wks left of the semester asking how they can pass the class #is infuriating tbh!!#listen im just one person with my own life and my own struggles and my own classes to deal with #ive tried all semester to help you #'how can i pass your class??'#baby youre not gonna #i know most of my students are first semester college freshmen #but its like youre an adult learn how to take care of your shit #ive tried holding your hand throughout the entire semester to get you to pass #and youve rejected it #you made your bed you better lie in it

#Angry and on Adderall was mostly only true sometimes in middle and high school abusing prescription pain medication is constant #I looooooove downers they make me feel so good #When I was a teenager my mom said she could tell there was something deeply wrong with me #and she feared the wrong person would try to attack me or kidnap me and I would essentially beat them to death and eat them lol #I've yet to do anything like this all I did was attack my bullies at school to cause moderate injuries. Didn't get punished for that either #Like I said they just ran IQ tests and sent me to retard classes instead #My friend from high school told me the teachers told them the school's students have a 2% success rate in life #And they wondered if they would be one of them #I told Andrew I never got that conversation so I definitely wasn't in the 2% that was going to succeed lmao #No wonder they tried so hard to teach me how to apply for disability #my posts
