Most Anticipated Show (& Why)

23.5 Degrees is definitely the one that springs to mind. I really hope it’s done well and that this will open the doors to GL stories being more common in GMMTV line-up. Not that GMMTV is the only studio producing QL stories, but they are certainly a powerhouse! Plus it increases our chances of a P’Aof directed GL haha

↕ - a memory that may or may not have happened

[You open one of the files not in a folder. It’s not titled anything besides a random assortment of letters and numbers but it does have a (sub) indicator at the end.]

They’re stood inside their technique studio’s main room. It’s a large, empty space. Stood against the wall in front of them are all their pokémon except Edm, who’s stood further forward, and Pollut, who’s on Edm’s head. Most of the Network are stood on the wall. At a glance you can’t tell if anyone’s missing.

“Arigh thun, ready?” (Alright then, ready?)

They hold up their wrists. A joltik is sat on each. The one on the left has blue fur around his face, the right one has black fur over his right eye vaguely forming an X and green fur at its tips. Party Polar & Fun Joul both click and give positive reactions, sparking at the mouth when the human under them taps their own palms in unison. The other pokémon sound their approval too. Edm only nods.

Ramohm starts playing a superhero’s theme song with his nodes. Edm and Pollut separate to circle them, Edm purposefully moving around to the right while Pollut’s jumping dismount puts him far to their left. No Name turns their head to keep eyes on both of them and readies their arms, their fingers curling slightly. Pollut paces back and forth, squealing in threat, building up momentum to stri—

As they press their middle & ring finger to their palm on their left hand, Party Polar shoots out an Electroweb that hits his body and knocks him to their floor. They’re distracted by Pollut’s disgruntled chirping and Polar’s celebration until they hear a sudden rush of footsteps behind them. They step backwards, rotate on their left foot 360°, and repeat the hand action with their right hand all while Edm runs past and begins to turn back. Fun Joul shoots an electroweb that hits her square in the face. Ramohm stops playing and the rest of the pokémon cheer.

No Name runs over to Edm and Pollut to help remove the electrowebs. They rub their fingers together after handling the webs and mumble “stadicy” (staticy) before checking the two pokémon over. Edm blows off their attempts with sincerity and smiles at them. As she walks to the others across the room the human kneels in front of Pollut.

Wisp, excited and overeager as ever, launches herself at them. The joltik on their wrists notice the oncoming assault and escape to the ceiling with time to spare. No Name is not so lucky.

Hip-hop legend Nas has achieved a new milestone in his career. The rapper is now tied with Jay-Z for the most top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. His latest album King’s Disease III debuted at #10 on the latest Billboard 200 chart with 29,000 first-week units earned. Both Nas and Jay-Z have had 16 Top 10 albums, with Nas having six of those being number one and 14 for Hov. They are also the second and third musicians to have their albums reach the top 10. The Beatles take the top spot with 19. While the long feud between the two is somewhat friendly, it is great to see black rappers achieve great excellence. Don’t Get Me Wrong: King’s Disease III Review

 Escobar Season is in full force on this new album. With this new album there is no stone left unturned. The Ghetto Reporter did just that. He spoke one every aspect of the hood with bring a full body mirror to the project stoops. 

 Hit-Boy has tapped into the potential that so many fans and media outlets have been begging from Nas for many years. This is a breathe of fresh air. With a multitude of flows and sharp delivery on each track. Legit starts off as proclamation and when the drums drop you hear the fun he seems to be having in the booth. The snares have Nas with a New York bop that his fans are unfamiliar with. He was not lying when he said “got off the block for this”. It sounds like he did. He came to the studio ready for every single song. 

 Thun showcases how Nas is the “last of a dyin’ pack of lions”. Verbal exercise of how his flow just matches perfectly with the beat. Never does he sound like he cannot match the energy of the track. This reinvigorated King of Hip Hop has been in hibernation for a while and only on the last three albums have you seen glimpses of this mastery. Even mentioning that some people thinks he picks bad beats, shows how much he keeps his ears to the streets. Has he had questionable production at times yes. To his credit, Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones has always crafted songs that were supported by the lyrics and those were needed. Here it just seems like this man has found his inspiration that has been preoccupied at times. 

 Reminisce, 30, Michale & Quincy, I’m on Fire, Once a Man, Twice a Child are all stand out tracks, Beef keeps inline with Nas’ storytelling ability. Get Light showcases his ability have a hood track that can be a party anthem, something that he has struggled with at times. This glove that Nas is wearing seems to be snug and a great fit. It is his shiny glove a la Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones who he compares his own run with Hit-Boy. 

 There is one blemish I will say is the first half of WTF SMH. He seems to try a bit on the trap beat but what saves it is the beat switch to lush sounds that bring Nas back into a comfort zone. Not to say he can’t rap on trap beats, it just didn’t seem to be the right fit for him. Maybe that was the purpose. 

To be honest, this release was perfectly planned for a fourth quarter. This is Nas’ chance to have a moment to showcase his true talent and reclaim his status as a Legend. People never questioned his ability, they questioned his production (Thank you Hit-Boy for finding a modern sound that can fit perfectly with God’s Son) and track list order. Here there really is nothing that can be questioned. 30 years in and he is still bringing heat. Still bring the next level, from a rap protege to Hip Hop elder statesman really brings his career full circle. This is the best album of the year and it really is not even close. 9.2/10

Trento, Festival Street Art: laboratori, musica e arte

Trento, Festival Street Art: laboratori, musica e arte. La Street Art si appropria del capoluogo trentino, si racconta e fa divertire il pubblico con un weekend di musica, arte e danza a ritmo di bomboletta. L’appuntamento è il 9 settembre dalle 16.30 alle 22 lungo via Belenzani; il 10 settembre tutto il giorno presso lo Skatepark in via Maso Smalz. L’inaugurazione è il 9 settembre alle 16.30 alla presenza dei rappresentanti delle istituzioni in via Belenzani. Da anni il Tavolo Street Art Trento lavora per far conoscere e apprezzare da giovani e adulti questa particolare pratica artistica, coinvolgendo artisti internazionali e portando a termine importanti interventi di riqualificazione cittadina con la realizzazione di murales e opere di arte pubblica. Il Tavolo è coordinato dall’Ufficio Politiche giovanili del Comune di Trento e, dopo i molti successi, l'asticella si è alzata con l'organizzazione della prima edizione del Festival Street Art. Il Festival si articola su due giorni: l'apertura è affidata a Salvatore Ferrari dell’associazione Italia Nostra e ai rappresentanti delle istituzioni. Seguono laboratori e animazione per tutta la famiglia a cura di Cooperativa Arianna (soggetto capofila del Tavolo per l’anno 2022), Spazio Piera e Studio d’Arte Andromeda. I momenti musicali a cura di Centro musica sono affidati ai giovani compositori trentini Michele Comper e Giordano Ebranati e al poliedrico Dario Pellegrini in arte Il Grigio. La bellezza salverà il mondo... e anche il real estate.

Una tra le locuzioni più utilizzate ultimamente fa emergere con prepotenza il bisogno da parte di tutti noi di dare un senso a tutto quello che ci sta succedendo attorno.

Non è un’esasperazione affermare che gli ultimi anni hanno messo in dubbio l’idea che il mondo, come lo abbia conosciuto, avesse ancora un futuro.

Questo fenomeno ha coinvolto molti dei nostri settori industriali e tra questi anche il real estate. In particolare, per il settore immobiliare si è paventato uno stop forzoso nella realizzazione di stabili direzionali e residenziali e un importante allontanamento dalle grandi città a favore di centri di minori dimensioni.

Tuttavia, nonostante due anni di incertezza i nostri borghi non sono diventati il buen retiro per una nutrita schiera della popolazione attiva e ci siamo ritrovati tutti a ripetere riti collettivi con l’emozione di un ritorno dopo una pausa forzata.

Quello che sicuramente è cambiato è il paradigma che governa questo settore e l’accelerazione che certi fenomeni sociologici esogeni hanno imposto a chi progetta e chi sviluppa, mentre per il resto la vita ha ripreso, anche se in modo non propriamente lineare, il suo corso.

Così come hanno finalmente ripreso i flussi di turisti di quasi ogni parte del mondo che arrivano nel nostro paese e si beano di tutta quella bellezza che noi diamo un po’ per scontata solo per il fatto di essere abituati ad averla intorno.

Bellezza, storia, cultura e arte che talvolta hanno come cornice città non all'altezza di cotanta eredità, come se tutto questo non sia un grande dono da custodire e manutenere, così come invece dimostrato ad esempio dallo studio “The value of an iconic asset. The economic and social value of the Colosseum” di Deloitte, che ha evidenziato le ricadute economiche sul territorio grazie alla presenza di determinati monumenti.

Nella stessa direzione di conservazione di bellezza per la generazione di valore sta la programmata riqualificazione di uno degli storici immobili ricettivi del Lido di Venezia l’Hotel Des Bains che nei programmi della proprietà, dopo un’attenta opera di riqualificazione, dovrebbe tornare agli antichi fasti preparandosi a vivere una nuova stagione in una delle zone di Venezia storicamente immortalata dalla letteratura e dal cinema.

La ricerca della bellezza, tuttavia, non deve limitarsi al recupero e alla conservazione dell’esistente, ma deve anche essere un faro nelle nuove operazioni che portano alla nascita di nuove centralità e che rappresenteranno una legacy per le città.

Esempi di questo esercizio sono, a mio parere, la nuova sede della Lavazza a Torino realizzato da Cino Zucchi, l’Apple Store di Piazza Liberty a Milano disegnato dallo studio Foster+Partners o il Davines Village di Parma progettato dallo studio MTLC di Matteo Thun e Luca Colombo.

Ciò che guida la mano degli attuali progettisti è la consapevolezza che è necessario delineare una scenografia di infrastrutture immobiliari che consentano al nuovo ed esistente di convivere in modo armonico.

Se questo può essere definito un nuovo Rinascimento per l’architettura di molte città, un contributo può derivare dalla collaborazione tra real estate e arte ovvero la presenza di opere d’arte che oltre a decorare l’infrastruttura immobiliare ne incrementano il livello di attrattività.

È auspicabile quindi che il nostro paese torni ad esprimere il proprio meglio nella convivenza virtuosa tra nuovo ed esistente.

The Stunning $76 Million Mallorca Villa

Designed by Italian architect Matteo Thun, Villa Solitaire also has three pools, a glass elevator and endless views.

At Villa Solitaire, it’s all about the view. Enjoying a commanding hilltop position in Mallorca’s tony enclave of Son Vida—considered the Beverly Hills of this Spanish island—the spectacular home, which just listed for €65 million (approximately $76 million), boasts views out over the capital city of Palma to the Mediterranean and beyond.

Renowned Italian architect Matteo Thun designed the massive four-story villa back in 2009 (it took another eight years to complete) specifically to make the most of the jaw-dropping panorama. That meant encasing the entire first and second floors in uninterrupted, wall-to-wall glass. At the push of a button, the floor-to-ceiling windows in almost the entire first floor living area disappear into pockets to open up the space to a huge outside dining patio.

“The light within the home is truly spectacular. It changes throughout the day, providing different views of the surroundings, with pastel-colored sunrises and magical sunsets,” listing agent Gabriela Muñoz of brokers Engel & Völkers Son Vida says.

Over to one side of the patio are two of the home’s three pools, both seemingly suspended in air. One is for swimming laps; the other, with its infinity-edge, is simply for soaking and taking in those amazing vistas. The patio is also shaded by a cantilevered roof for which the overhang is suspended by a maze of intricate, tensioned steel cables designed to mimic the look of multiple yacht sails.

The huge main living area is dominated by a very 1960s-style sunken “conversation pit” with enough creamy, square-edged sofas from Italian furniture studio Nilufar to accommodate more than 20 of your best friends. Challenging the outdoor views for attention is the room’s centerpiece glass-tube elevator, which shoots between the home’s four levels, raising and lowering by means of a single chrome hydraulic piston. To watch it in action, from inside or out, is a conversation stopper.

Yet another exceptional feature is the acreage of ivory-white limestone that covers a staggering 25,500 square feet of interior space and over 4,000 square feet of exterior pool and patio. The limestone was sourced exclusively from the Antequera quarries near Malaga on Spain’s mainland.

In addition to that sprawling living room, the first floor features formal and informal dining rooms, a main eat-in kitchen, a tucked-away satellite kitchen for catering staff, a bar and a wine cellar.

Ride the glass elevator up to the second floor and you’ll find seven bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and balcony looking out a Palma and the Med through those twisted steel cables. The huge master suite has its king-size bed positioned right in front of the floor-to-ceiling glass and features a levitating shade so that anyone luxuriating in the tub doesn’t miss out on the views.

Down at the basement level, there’s an expansive wellness area with a gym, sauna, Turkish bath, massage room and even a Zen garden for meditation. The subterranean space also offers parking for up to six vehicles on elegant wooden floors—an area that can be transformed into a sexy nightclub, complete with state-of-the-art sound and a video projection wall. Talking of videos, up on the home’s vast, grassy roof deck you’ll find a large screen for al fresco movie watching.

According to Engel & Völkers’ Muñoz, what goes a long way in justifying Villa Solitaire’s lofty asking price—which currently makes it the priciest home in the whole of Spain—is its location in Son Villa, Mallorca’s most exclusive and oldest residential area. In addition to its 450 lavish hillside homes, the area features three world-class golf courses, as well as a couple of five-star hotels, like the famous Castillo Hotel.

“Villa Solitaire is, without doubt, the most impressive property for sale on Mallorca right now, and is located in one of the very best locations in the Son Vida Hills,” notes Muñoz. “Within minutes, you have access to all the world-class shopping, Michelin-star restaurants, galleries and superyacht marinas that Palma has to offer.”
