i kinda hate the current culture around how a lot of left leaning people online will say to influencers or celebs who 'get cancelled' (saying something bigoted for example) that the only REAL way they can make amends is by paying money to a charity dedicated to the community that they hurt with their words

and the reason i hate it is because it kinda denies the person any means to take real accountability for their past actions... people saying that an apology is only worthy if you 'put your money where your mouth is' ignores that a) someone can donate to a charity and not actually give a shit about it (ESPECIALLY if they're wealthy!) and b) that that isn't the only, or even the best (imo), way to express support for a community! showing solidarity with the community, taking accountability for your own actions and admitting fault (not making excuses etc), fighting against the groups of people trying to harm minorities, etcetc... there are plenty of ways to prove that you have grown without having to throw a whole load of money at the issue imo

yes, donating to charities is an important thing and if an influencer has done bigoted things in the past and they want to make up for that by donating i think that is a good thing, but i don't want this to become the 'expected' course of action for people that say bigoted stuff because to ME it is giving them a kind of pass and now letting them actually grow or show that they have changed!

idk... this just kinda bugs me that so many left leaning people push this without really acknowledging that donating to charity isn't some magical fix-all that makes people reflect on their past actions and is actually mostly just a way that wealthy people with bigoted views can show face...

Why do i have to be the optimistic one. God i can think of almost every way that everything can go wrong and be cynical and assholish about everything in my mind but everyone else is that way on the outside too and so i gotta stay opimistic. Well, i dont got to but if i dont no one else will and then we are all just miserable. Like my coworkers are horrible people who i would never talk to outside of work itself and talking about the people coming in over the border and how they're all just greedy and selfish or whatever and its like have you ever considered that they aren't like that and they are trying to make a better life and you guys are assholes and cynical. (man i really jsut like repeating adjectives huh). And like i gotta be patient too because theres no reason not to be. Being impatient expecially in conversations is horrible beucase then you get irritated then the person youre talking to is irritated and it makes everything jsut worst so why do it. like my grandma asked me 3 times if i was sleeping (i wasnt i jsut had my head under the covers) and i repsonded saying no every time and so my cousin that was standing next to her stepped and and went "she said no already" like he was annoyed. and like whats the point of that. you weren't apart of that conversation and now youre annoyed and becuase you had an attitude with that one single sentence you jsut said, she is too. Like bro theres no reason for it just wait a little bit or repsond better and then no one gets pissed. like it easy. And people that are already irritated and impatient at something else just takes it out on other things for no reason and its like jsut dont???? You can be annoyed at something and at the same time patient with something else. Theres no reason to make other peoples lives (and yours) worse becuase youre not super happy. You can still be kind even if youre going though something. You dont have to alwasy see the worst in everything beucase something bad is going on. you can see the good, you jsut gotta stop focusing on the bad and its not as difficult as it seems really. Like constantly ill think that ugh i dont want to go somewhere becuase itll be hot, adn there will be too many people, and everything expensive, and i have to drive for a while, and i gotta get gas which aslo costs moeny, adn i wont even have /that/ good of a time; but i dont beucase if you focus on that then you will have an even worse time. Focus on oh i get to hang out with my friends and look at cool homemade items and go do something outside of the normal wake up, work, and sleep routine and all that. Theres the "dont get me started" game that ive seen a couple times on tumblr and dude i would be so good at that beucase i can find almost anything that would make something unenjoyable and all that but everyone else can point things out like that too so i gotta take a step back and see the good side and rationalize it too instead.

This went absolutly no where but god i hate that I can't be annoyed or cynical or disrespectful ebcuase everyone else is and so whats the point. I should try to balance it out beucase once you dont see the good, theres no reason to so absooutely anything.

Summary: You never quite understood why everyone around you was so deeply inlove with their partners until you met Hazel Callahan.

You were in your room while working on some extra homework Mr G gave you that was due the next day. You were laying on your bed staring at your paper. You were a bit distracted and drifted away for a moment until you felt a light tap o a pencil against your forehead. You look up in surprise blinking your eyes lightly and you look up at the girl infront of you. "You alright there? You kinda left me for a second." Hazel laughs looking at you with her big blue-ish/green-ish eyes. "O-oh yeah im good haze." You respond back, still in thought. You have had a giant crush on hazel since the first grade. You admired her dearly. You both did everything together and you enjoyed every last bit of it. You both knew the other was gay but you were bestfriends. You didn't want to ruin that. Hazel was your bestfriend and you couldn't handle losing the only person who you actually felt happy with.

"Y/n why don't we take a break? We've been at this for like 3 hours." Hazel says getting up from her spot. You nod and you both walk into your kitchen. You didn't have a very big house, but it was enough for you and your mom. You go into the fridge and find a bag of apple slices. You pull them out and drop them into a blue bowl. You bring the apples to Hazel who was in the dining room and hand them to her. "Here you go Haze" you say cheerfully, smiling down at her sitting figure. "Why thank you my lady" Hazel replies back, getting the bowl from your hands. You know that small comment shouldn't have made your heart flutter but it did. You both eat your apple slices while Hazel talks about the family dining party she was forced to go to the next day. "Y/n I really don't want to wear a dress. Like I'd rather die than wear anything like that." Hazel says making a disgusted look. You laugh at her. "Hazel, it'll be okay. It's just one night an after that you can throw it in the garbage!" You reply to her grabbing an apple slice and popping it into your mouth. As soon as Hazel is about to answer, you hear a turn on the doorknob and immediately know it was your mother. She walks into the house with a drunk-ish look plastered on her face. "Shit you gotta go Hazel I'm sorry" you look at her and give her a big hug. "Okay okay bye Y/n I'll see you tomorrow at school?" Hazel asks looking at you. "Of course Haze, okay bye" You reply pushing Hazel out of the door. "Who is that girl?" Your mom asks sitting on the couch. "Mom that's Hazel. Remember?" You reply looking at your mom. "Oh yeah that girl you always talk about? You seem to like her y/n" your mom says not paying attention to you. "Oh yeah um-" "Y/n, it's okay if you like her. I will support you either way, I promise. Now go get me another beer." Your mom says going to lay onto the couch. "Yeah yeah um sure mom." You reply with a smile. Your mom wasn't usually this nice. You grab a beer from the fridge and hand it to her.

You get into class and sit right behind Hazel. Something that you noticed a lot lately is that your mind is only circled around Hazel and only Hazel. You can't last a minute without missing her when shes not around. Youve obviously liked her for years but now its different. Every girl around you has fallen in love. and you crave that badly. You crave that feeling with Hazel. You look up at Hazel to already see her turned around in her seat smiling. "Hey Y/n, i was thinking maybe tonight could i come over? My mom is going to have her new boyfriend over and im not feeling like hearing my mom moan some random man's name all night." Hazel says chuckling a bit. "Sure Hazel, my mom won't be home so we will be good." You giggle twirling your pen around. She nods and turns back to her origional position.

After school you get home and begin cooking dinner for you and your mom. You make some mac n cheese and put some in a bowl for your mom. Right as you begin eating your food, you mom comes into the kitchen with a cigarette in her left hand. "I m going to be going out don't do any kinda stupid shit while im gone." Your mom says grabbing her bowl and walking out of the door. as soon as your mom slams the door shut you run to call Hazel and give her the sign to come over. You wait patiently for her arrival and tap your spoon against the empty bowl. You hear a soft knock agains the door and immediately know it Hazel. Your eyes light up and you run toward the door. You open it to see the taller woman infront o you. "Hey haze!" You say excitedly. "Hey,love. " Hazel responds patting your head softly. "Do you wanna watch a movie?" i have some extra popcorn packets on top of the fridge!" You ask Hazel walking towards the living room. Hazel nods and runs to sit on the couch. You yell for Hazel to find a movie and you begin making popcorn. You pop the packets in the microwave and wait. After you tear open the bag and pour the popcorn in two purple bowls. You jump ono the couch and give Hazel your popcorn.

After the movie, you both just look up at your ceiling, bored to death. "Hey wanna go out to the streets? we can take a little walk?" Hazel asks looking down at you. "I mean sure? couldn't hurt" You answer hopping up from the couch to put your sneakers on. You both walk to the door and you walk out of the house. You live close to the city part of your town so you were surrounded by city lights and multiple tiny shops. You both take hold of each other's hands and start running down the streets. Everything felt unreal. you were both dancing and messing around that nothing else felt important. The sun was down by now s it was just both of you surrounded by the dim street lights. you start giggling until Hazel comes to a start. you stop as well and she takes a step towards you. Your body tenses up as she looks at your pink lips. Her eyes look so sparkly. The world freezes around you as she leans in to kiss you. your hands instantly go to her neck as hers go to your waist pulling you in closer and closer, You hum into the kiss and begin kissing her back. You eventually pull away an stare at her. "It's getting late. i better go. Good night, Y/n." Hazel whispers kissing your forehead. You are still frozen in your spot until you look back to see Hazel's figure dissapearing into the night. You couldn't beleive it. You just KISSED Hazel. your mind went blank and you began walking home.

Since that day, you fell more in love with Hazel. So much to the point that you missed her even when she was standing right infront of you. You were so bewitched by her that it was like she was controlling your every thought and movement. You could only focus on her. You wanted a future with Hazel. Since that day you both still hadn't talked about the incident and didn't confess the obvious feelings you had toward each other. But today you wee going to o it. today you were going to tel her how much you love her.

After the last period ended, you saw Hazel walking outside of the school doors. You run up to her and tapped her shoulder. "Oh hey Y/n Whats up? Hazel asks you, taking off her headphones. "Can we talk for a moment?" You ask. "Yeah sure lets go to the side over here." Hazel guides your hand towards the brick wall on the side of the school. "Haze, i need to tell you something. something ive been keeping from you for a while. Just promise me this won't ruin our friendship?" You ask Hazel with teary yes. Yours and Hazel's friendship was one of the only thins you cherished most and you didnt want to risk losing it over some stupid little crush you had on your best friend. "Yes yes i promise. Just let it out Y/n." Hazel says holding your shoulders. Hazel, i like you. i like you a lot. matter of fact i am in love with you. and i have been for such a long time. You make me feel like im able to be myself around you. I don't know, im sorr-" You ramble until Hazel leans in to kiss you hungrily. "Ive heard enough. fuck- i like you too Y/n" Hazel whispers against your mouth. After a bit, you both pull away and hazel lifts your chin up with her pointer finger. "You have bewitched me, Y/n." Hazel says before latching hr arm around your waist an heading to her car.

childe and zhongli were most likely your closest friends, however, they weren't each others friends.

they would always argue about you, fighting on who gets to play with you during recess. they were both older, childe being in kindergarten and zhongli being in first grade, so they didn't get to see you out of your free time.

zhongli would always use that advantage, being older, claiming you should be with someone older, more responsible. (even if he hardly understood what responsible meant in the first place.)

you were younger, more clueless. you usually ended up walking away to play with your other friends, while they would continue to argue with each other, eventually wasting all their time.

"y/n, i think you should be with me! i'm more better than him and-" zhongli started to look around, not seeing you anywhere. "where did they go?"

"this is your fault!" childe practically cries, trying to push zhongli over. "they left because you scared them!"

"don't blame me, you were yelling at me!" zhongli argued, trying to look for you.

he finally found you. but with some other boy? you were playing house with your other friends, but that boy was your husband? and you were drinking fake tea with him?

"ew! who's he?" childe whispered in zhongli's ear, as they were both watching you from the slides.

"i don't know.. but he shouldn't be with y/n."

before zhongli could say anything else, childe stomping towards you and your new husband.

"get away from her!" he yelled, grabbing your hand, "she's my wife!"

he dragged you towards zhongli, ignoring your sulking face. you were about to cry. you were devastated.

"don't leave again like that, i was so scared." zhongli said, not wanting to make you cry.

you started bawling.

the two of them looked shocked. you hardly spoke, having a limited vocabulary, but your sudden outburst was shocking. they've never seen you throw a fit.

i wouldn't say i ship kacchako but i DO think their dynamic has so much potential! i wish horikoshi had explored their dynamic more, there are some nice parallels and their chemistry is just very funny, but i can see why he didn't do that, i tihnk a lot of people would have reduced it to a silly love triangle (people love to hierarchize deku's friendships so much i dont get it he loves them all)

i also think a lot of people's dislike for kacchako is a knee-jerk reaction because it's a m/f ship and could be easily reduced to a boring grumpy boy x cute girl dynamic, but i genuinely think they could have had a very nice dynamic in canon! and it's nice to see some people play with it in fanon, sometimes i see very cute fan art :) i think ochako is, similarly to deku, a very fun combination of very very kind and timid + stubborn and enough of a backbone to not let bakugo push her over.... would have loved to see bakugo try to handle that lmao

this isn't necessarily the "canon" i'd use for every fic but: i decided the hiraishin markers can only be used by minato, and also he can only use ones he makes himself. i think with the way i set things up in plasticity, it's probably a chakra compatibility thing, so someone else could paint one using his chakra and then he could use it (and that person couldn't). so During The War kushina was helping him put them on kunai en masse, but "minato can only use ones he makes himself" is how most people understand it

also, the marker itself isn't the technique. it's only a guide for him to use the technique. tobirama's markers look different, so i think the shape of the marker is pretty malleable? he doesn't necessarily have to get every brush stroke exactly right, so he can make them on the fly, but he'd have to retrain himself pretty thoroughly to start using a new type of marker.

i'm going with these rules bc it explains why he left a bunch of markers that never fade all over the place without any anxiety that anyone would steal the technique. it's because it'd be like trying to reinvent a plane using the runway as your guide, and then it wouldn't even be able to use the same runway. like, if you were going to manage it, you were going to manage it regardless of if you'd studied the runway or not, and you'd have to build a new runway to boot.

okay, so. does tori reverse engineer the a plane with just a runway? no, that's nigh impossible. she does something worse. :)

so for mutagenicity i want tori to be a little bit fascinated with time-space jutsu, because they're one of the more complex branches of fuinjutsu, and she's never explored it before. like storage is technically space-time stuff, but also not really. she doesn't know a lot about it.

when she's little and living with the utano clan, someone brings back one of minato's kunai and sticks it in a chakra-proof box they have. and i'm thinking after all the clans merge into a village and orochimaru slowly starts picking off former leadership so he can be the undisrupted ruler of otogakure, tori manages to steal the box. she spends some time studying the kunai and its marker and she's like: hmm yeah if anything this is like 0.8% of a technique. disappointing. she does go to orochimaru and is like: hey when u stole a bunch of konoha techniques did u also happen to steal the hirashin. and he's like omg wtf no. lmao. you tihnk i'd be here if i knew that?? and tori internally is like: hmm yeah he would have killed hiruzen already if he could teleport. or at least be off bothering anko once a week

she gets to learn more about space-time fuinjutsu with kushina because they're using one to transport ibiki. and she's like well why SHOULDN'T i ask about hiraishin what else would a twelve year old do. and kushina is like AAAWW yeah everyone wants to know <3 but it's top secret and also way out of your league baby genin :)

and at the fallout of the mission, when she and deidara have to manually drag ibiki out of the village because the only transport jutsu tori knows requires one other person and that person was kidnapped in front of her and itachi is off saving her, tori is pissed. so she draws minato's marker on a wall and the message "can you find them all? ;)" which is pretty funny psychological warfare in that it makes iwa desperately search every inch of itself for markers that don't exist, but also minato doesn't actually gain access to iwa. (i know, less fun)

but i decided tori doesn't know this when she did it, so when someone explain it to her she's like "WELL WHY CAN'T HE USE OTHER PEOPLE'S CHAKRA" because her whole thing is hijacking other people's chakra. but at this point she has not adequately demonstrated or explain this to kushina OR minato so she gets what they feel is an age and skill appropriate answer and she feels is a deeply condescending non-answer. also minato makes her cool genjutsu proofing seal forbidden >:(

years pass, tori opens up and learns to trust, minato has to forbid a bunch more seals and every day gains more white hairs, etc etc. and i was thinking "if her arc is about learning to trust, we need some moments to Test Her" and "what could give tori a melt down"

so i decided it might be fun to play around with a mission where her teammates straight up leave her for dead. i'm still rotating details, like what exactly happens and how bad it is emotionally. (is it malicious? just a cowardly call? someone picking the mission over tori?) but i have decided it's some other inconsequential non-canon team, and she's "left for dead" but still has enough time to sit there and contemplate that this happened to her but also can't get out. think locked in an underground room slowly filling with water or something.

now, tori is a creature who runs on stress and spite. so these are actually the ideal conditions for her come up with her best ideas. she knows minato's hiraishin markers work as a homing beacon for a transportation jutsu, she knows a shit ton more about transportation jutsu now, she knows the specific properties of his chakra and has done extensive research on how to adjust fuinjutsu to work with different types of chakra, and also she's been spitefully rotating this problem in her brain like a rotisserie chicken, so she's like. actually i can hijack minato's hiraishin.

she draws up his marker and makes a truly cursed seal around it, concentrates on konoha, and voila! she manages to teleport to a forest in fire country.

also, halfway across the country, she's just scared the every loving shit out of minato, who immediately shows up to investigate, rasengan waving.

tori: (SCREAMS)

tori has been freaking out and will continue to freak out for several more days, because she was finally feeling safe, like she had a home, and she just nearly died because actually you CAN'T trust people you haven't thoroughly vetted, and also the goddamn yellow flash just nearly murdered her, and and and---

luckily minato calms down much more quickly once tori stutters out her verification codes. yes, okay. tori figuring reverse-engineering hiraishin was nightmare #1, but actually his TRUE fear should have been someone hijacking his markers because they're in his home and on his family, but that should have been impossible, so thank you tori for showing him true fucking fear. but actually by this point he low-key figured learning True Fear would come from someone on team 4, if not his own family, so why not. so he listens to her barely cohesive story about being betrayed by her team.

because she solved her problem via teleportation, she actually beats the rest of her team home by a week. so minato is like: okay, I believe that you are telling your truth, but as hokage I have to investigate and listen to both sides of the story. so why don't you lay low at my place and we'll wait and see what your team says when they get back. so he dumps her at his house and then goes to look up the new seal that she hooked up remotely??? and yes she did do that, and she DID do it in a cave now completely submerged, and he destroys and at teleports back and has to rethink his life.

(while this is happening, please imagine tori curled up n the uzumaki-namikaze house angrily drinking a juice box while naruto explains a comic he's reading to her)

and i think the eventual conclusion is minato decides he should have been retooling his marker every once in a while and he wants to have konoha-only ones so enemies who've seen his main one can't exploit that flaw, even if the chances of anyone repeating what tori did are EXTREMELY low. unfortunately that does mean he has to basically reteach himself the technique

and so tori's trust in various people is reaffirmed but them acting totally cool even after she broke the hiraishin so bad that minato has to remake it for village security. also her jutsu gets so forbidden they're not even going to make any sort of record of it <3

I think at first he wouldn't care, there are so many people in the world that draw as a hobby he isn't going to go talk to all of them. As their relationship develops I think he would get curious, if MC draws people then he would be curious about what he looks like in their eyes. A lot can be said through art. 😉

Fadiya would probably be a bit annoying and ask MC to draw her pets but if MC drew her then she would get flustered and tell them not to do that even though she secretly likes it.

Helios has a lot of portraits done for him, he is the only heir to the throne after all. But I think a portrait done by someone close to you vs random artists is just different. He would treasure it a lot!

If this was a modern-day thing then I'd say Hunter wouldn't like getting their picture taken so I suppose portraits are also a no-go. If MC did draw them though I think they would keep it because it was drawn by someone they care about. They just wouldn't ask for them.

Soarine would love them even if they're badly drawn. She would show it to others like "out of everyone they drew ✨️me✨️".
