We've still got some inventory left over so I thought why not do a big sale to get it into the hands of people who really want it. Once again, you're allowed to be critical of media, and having these valid opinions/feelings does not mean you're deserving of fandom ire or exile. Period.

I, for one, have been disappointed with how the show has (mis)handled its overarching narratives, character development, and pacing since even before the mid-season break. On top of everything else, with the advent of this week's PR blitz I also feel like it's not at all off base to feel baited to an almost unprecedented degree. And I'm sure there are folks that can and will succinctly argue more hopeful takes on it all, but the bottom line for me is that I no longer trust the storytellers and I think that's a sign that it's time for me to bounce for the time being (beyond the actual summer hiatus). No shade to anyone who's still all in, I'm just not feeling it anymore.

I've literally been watching The 90s Moomin cartoon all month; I even spotted a little section in Barnes and Noble that was Moomin themed!! It's also a great choice for the beginning of spring!

April is my birthday month and Winnie the Pooh has been my comfort show since I could crawl, so I am sure happy this landed second ❤️ Lots of parties in the shows too.

And finishing with Animal Crossing for transitioning from Spring to Summer is the best way this could've ended. Plus the whole game has grown into a great a place for socializing. I grew up with the original Animal Crossing on GameCube and could only do so much, but the level of creativity you have now is incredible!! (I've become a big fan of island tours)

I'll start planning for April 21st, which I found out is National Tea Day (the perfect choice for my first tea party)

Meanwhile, I will be posting Spring/Moomin stuff the rest of the month.

I am referring to a bodily struggle, just not one you perceive to exist. But I'll accept that it's not how the people you're referring to define one, either. So sorry for that. I went where the canon evidence took me to why someone would draw that parallel, since it's drawn most fiercely in TVL, and mostly not in any other book.

But as to whether Armand is mentally/emotionally a man or still a child, or some weird thing in-between, beliefs vary.

And we don't have to literally have someone say, "Armand is/isn't a man" to see proof of both, as we see him behaving/not behaving as both all over the books. Although when something isn't stated outright, it's open to interpretation.

I honestly think Anne wanted to have her cake and eat it in that regard, as Armand tended to be whatever came handiest, a perfect foil for every character he shares a scene with. But it's reasonable in this case that he might be perceived as a child by many, considering what a vampire (functionally) is...

I have to say, this is not what I was talking about. I was specifically referring to people pointing out their bodily struggle, something Claudia does struggle with and what others claim Armand does too (although in Armand's case they claim it's less about helplessness and more about not being taken seriously and his youth being attractive to others).

I will also have to disagree with your interpretation of the psychological problem of a vampire child/adolescent too.

It's not that their mind is stuck at an adolescent stage, it's that they have no link to a mortal life (or a very limited one in Armand's case) which all other vampires inherently posses.

The TVL passage you use is also related to this. Because while Marius references Armand he obviously also references Lestat as a young vampire. And he specifically references the need for a "human" lifetime. Not the one he's leading in his isolation with TWMBK. Because only through a human or "humalike" experience can a vampire find an ancor for themselves. Armand was deprived of both a human experience (partially because he divorced himself from the life of the living deliberately, partially because of Harlech) and "humalike" one (because he was kidnapped by the Satanists soon after being turned). That's why he tries to find people who will connect him to the current age (Louis, Daniel).

The QotD passage also. Armand can't relate to a 'man's aggression' not because his brain is not mature or something but because he never experienced it (allegedly lmao he was one bloodthirsty child). Because he never had the human experience of a warlike aggression. He knows of it, but he can't relate to it. Just as Claudia never had experienced hate or love but nevertheless knows of it.

The horror of Claudia is precisely that her mind doesn't stay as that of a child. It becomes a mind of a woman, assertive, independent, seductive, while her body stays as of that of a little girl. Armand obviously never has such a problem.

The thing you described is similar to Benedict's conviction, that the vampires who are turned young forever remain childlike and stupid and blind and Armand (rightfully) protests that it's not Benedict's age of turning that made him childish but his monkish devotions and later reliance on and sheltering by Rhosh.

A belief also backed up by Lestat, for example, in this comment in regard to one of Notker's boys.
