#Takeover A Stolen Story

Okay give me the rundown on Stella because I think I'll love her
*vibrates with excitement*
Okay, okay, okay, Stella is my baby, so I'm afraid, since you asked about her, I might end up drowning you in details.
Accidentally.
Stella is my main character for Stolen. She starts off the book as, what's known in world, as a Jack-Thief. This is a freelancer thief, unaffiliated with a guild, who dabbles in all types of thievery.
(Stolen Spoilers beneath the cut...)
Through plot events, she finds herself alone and in a strange city, and is approached by someone who wants her to steal some documents. They claim the documents belong to them, and that they're just reclaiming property that's already been stolen from them. Stella doesn't quite believe them and refuses the job.
She then finds this same person has broken into her room later that night, and realises this wasn't something she actually had a choice in.
The whole starting inspiration for Stella was I wondered what would happen, how things would play out, if an amature thief successfully stole plans from a guild master, in the very heart of their own guild, and then tried to sell those same plans back to him.
And that's what Stella does. She steals the papers, because she doesn't have a choice, and then tries to trade them back to the guild master she took them from in exchange for help escaping the city.
What my poor baby doesn't know is she's just stepped into the middle of a turf war between two guilds, and escaping the city isn't in any way, shape or form, a possibility. The group she's just betrayed has a network across the land, so there's nowhere for her to run.
The guildmaster offers her protection instead, and she takes it, and that's really the foundation of the plot.
Stella's wonderful to write though, she's truly so much fun, because there's so much dichotomy to her character.
She was raised in a very particular manner that gives her an unusual outlook on the world. Some things she's very worldly about, she's not shocked by sexual advances, or open flirting, or lying, or betraying people... and other things she's been kept very sheltered from. Like genuine caring relationships. Support and positive encouragement. Trust based relationships. Murder and violence.
And while it doesn't come up in the first book, until the very, very, end, and Stella herself doesn't become aware of it until Book Two, there's a very specific reason why she was raised in the way she was.
My other MC for Stolen, Reilly Mosswolf, will spend a great deal of time undoing the damage that's been done by her isolation, and when Stella finally realises how she was manipulated, it may or may not break her, just a tiny bit *evil smile*
And have some gorgeous art I had commissioned of Stella and Reilly, just because you asked about her, and I can't stop sharing this piece. It's gorgeous, and it was done by @knuttydraws

do not copy this plot. i’m perfectly fine with inspirations but give creds. if this plot his stolen in any way, the post will be taken down and you will be blocked.
𝐃𝐀𝐊𝐎𝐓𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 ✉️🖇️;; being on c.ai just gave me this idea. ya probably missed my smut so im back at it. here’s choso for everybody that asked (more of him coming up!) hope ya enjoyyyyy reblog to support meeeee and if you want more :D and merry christmas eve!!
another note: i was listening to “in for it” by tory lanez when writing this…i think it’s perfect. i was also listening to “from the start” by laufey…that inspired the plot also. also the (?) means that i listed the warning just in case it happens and i may change my mind mid story so still be cautious! (putting that in for my future stories) (some aspects inspired by: @chososdiscordkitten)

choso was lying on his bed and he was holding his phone. he was now looking over at his text messages and he saw that his “friend” was now texting him. that “friend” was you. he sighed softly and he put his phone down and let his hand travel down to between his legs.
he was already rubbing himself lightly ans slowly. he started to breathe in and out slowly. his body would become hot as he was thinking of you and how he wanted to have you back in his presence.
you and choso were really close. you met through his kid brother, yuji. the younger assumed that choso should try to go out and find himself some acquaintances to keep him occupied. it was also the right thing to do, considering that curses weren’t really accepted by society and he was a hybrid.
you both hit it off pretty quickly. you thought he was funny because of his awkwardness and tendency to get flustered every time you compliment him. he doesn’t hear those very often.
he had been thinking about all the different things he could say to you and he was just staring at your message with his thoughts swirling in his head like a storm. he also began to think of the possibility of you breaking his heart and the fact that you were probably talking to some other guy. you probably liked him better. he began thinking of how he can stop it before it starts. so you never leave him.
his fingers started to stroke his erection in a consistent rhythm and he was letting his thoughts takeover. he was imagining you with him and imagining you in a vulnerable position, wanting him and needing him
his strokes became faster and his breathing became more erratic, his body was starting to tense up as he couldn’t help but imagine you in every position. he let his mind become intoxicated by his lust and this sensation of losing control.
he was nearing the point of no return, he was taking heavy breaths and his body was tensing and relaxing in a consistent rhythm. he started to speak aloud and he would moan softly and he whispered your name under his breath, hoping no one can hear him.
he could feel himself getting close and his breathing was becoming faster and his voice now sounded like a growl as he let your name slip through his lips repeatedly. his breath was now hot and his body was tensing up and his fingers and fists were now clenching tightly as the sensation grew inside of him.
right before he could finish, he heard a knock on his door. choso sucked his teeth and covered himself with his blanket, slightly frustrated that he couldn’t completely satisfy himself without being interrupted. he would quickly try to slow his breathing before answering the door.
the door opens and yuji is standing there with an eager smile, “hey, did you wanna come to the mall with me and my friends later? i know it’s hot as hell out since it’s summer but we shouldn’t be inside all day.”
choso couldn’t see himself but he knew he was flustered and his chest was still moving up and down a bit quickly. it made yuji slightly suspicious.
“you sound outta breath, are you okay?”
“no—i mean, yes, i’m fine.” choso swallowed, running a hand through his hair. at this moment, choso didn’t have his hair up in his twintails like he normally did…part of that reason was because you mentioned that you liked him with his hair down and that he should wear that style a bit more often. it was also because he takes the rubber bands out of his hair after being out all day and wearing them as bracelets until the next time he had to leave the house.
“right,” yuji chuckled, “i’ll let you know when later if i’m still going.” the pink haired boy began to walk out of choso’s room but he quickly stopped him before the door closed.
“yeah?”
“is…you know who…gonna be there?” choso asked. the question alone made yuji smirk and lean against the doorframe in a goofy manner. it wouldn’t be a surprise if he picked this kind of stuff up from gojo.
“oh, yeah. she’ll be there.” yuji smiled. that’s when choso felt like he had to actually look like something today. he wanted to impress you. he wanted you to compliment him again. he wanted you to praise him. to give him the satisfaction that he had been craving from you for so long.
when yuji left the room, choso looked at his phone, reading the time. it was still a bit early in the morning. ‘9:15 AM’ the clock read. he’d glance down a the wallpaper on his phone, which was you and yuji smiling while eating some ice cream.
‘she’s so pretty…’ he thought. it felt like you were looking directly at him, the longer he stared at the photo, clearly hypnotized by your eyes and your smile. he needed you more than ever and he was gonna make it happen sooner or later.
choso got up and made his way to the bathroom to shower and clean the pre cum off of him. after he was done with his hygiene, he’d put his hair up in his usual twintails then he would put on something simple. a tan oversized sweater with a pair of joggers. he was a simple man and going out in a huge white robe and a gi wasn’t very ideal for the heat that was surging through the city.
a sweater and some joggers weren’t very ideal for this weather either but choso seemed to be fitting in very well…humans did the same thing. some of them.
when it was time to head out with yuji to go to the mall, choso was fully prepared to see you. the male would spray a few squirts of cologne on himself, fix his hair, and he even held out on putting on that eyeshadow that made him look like he didn’t get any ounce of sleep at all.
choso remembered you talking about spider lilies on your story. they came in beautiful colors that looked like they came from a fantasy world and you were in love with them. they were extremely rare and they had a deep meaning behind them.
though, he was aware that they were extremely rare, he was able to get his hands on them after searching around for a while. he found white and red spider lilies. he thought they were a pretty mix of colors. he was even lucky to get one that was white and faded into the usual deep red color like a gradient.
“who are those for?” yuji teased as he peered over at the four spider lilies that choso was carrying with him. the older male’s cheeks flushed a red color, hesitant on answering the question. he couldn’t lie to his brother so he decided to tell the partial truth.
“they’re a home decoration. they aren’t particularly for anyone. they’re for whoever wants them.” the male answered. yuji lifted an eyebrow. he thought it was a bit odd to buy flowers and carry them around until someone asked for them…but choso was still learning so yuji couldn’t blame him for being backwards.
when the two arrived at the mall, choso could see you sitting with nobara and megumi. megumi was spacing out, wandering around the area in circles while you and kugisaki were bumbling about what stores you were going to.
your head suddenly looks up, noticing choso and yuji standing a good distance away, pretty close to the entrance. when you put on a friendly smile and waved in their direction, he was pretty sure you were waving at him.
yuji and choso advance towards you and your other two friends and begin your plans for the day. plans like relaxing at the park or getting some sushi and udon came up. megumi remarking that yuji might stick one or sukuna’s fingers in his meal and call it a secret recipe.
while everyone talked, you noticed that choso was disassociated as usual, holding onto the spider lilies that he bought for you and zoning out.
“hey, how’d you get these?” you asked. choso’s heart skipped a beat when he felt your hand lightly brush against his when you attempted to touch the spider lilies. “they’re so rare.” you added.
“oh—uh…yeah.” choso mumbled. there was a silence. you knew choso was a quiet guy, so you didn’t force him to speak any more than he already had. you reach up and touch the flowers and your smile grows a bit.
“can i?” you begin. choso doesn’t hesitate to hand you the trio of lilies. you weren’t really expecting him to give you all of them since you only wanted to hold one of them. your eyes light up at the rare white one that faded into red. it caught your eye quicker than the regular red and white ones that were in that set of spider lilies.
choso fixed his lips to say something but yuji had come over to the two, “hey, you guys ready?”
of course, you were over the moon because you couldn’t wait to go shopping and go to your favorite places with nobara. you nod and trotted off, already knowing where you were going for your first store.
‘she didn’t give the flowers back…’ choso was in awe when you walked away, holding your favorite species of flowers in your hands. he felt the heat rising in his cheeks again. he’d take the time to take a mental image of you before smiling to himself.
it might’ve been the one in few times he’s actually smiled.
choso would follow yuji and megumi around, hoping that he’d end up running into you again while they circled around the building. instead of looking at things to buy, his thoughts were entirely filled with you.
he fantasized about what you say to him when it was time to confess. how it would feel to kiss you just one time. to sit in a park by all the cherry blossom trees and just have a long conversation about whatever came to mind.
he loved you but you weren’t seeing that. it was frustrating him. then it hit him…you probably did like someone else that wasn’t him. the thought made his chest hurt but he pushed those feelings down because he didn’t want to have a mental breakdown in public. not again.
when the five of you went out to get food after enjoying some time at the mall, choso made sure to sit beside you at the table but also near yuji so nothing was made terribly obvious. he listened to you ramble on about the stuff you bought from the mall. new clothes, a set of undergarments with a robe, and a vase for the spider lilies that you ended up getting from choso.
each time your hand accidentally brushed up against his hand or his arm, he couldn’t help but blush. he’d shove food into his mouth to force himself from smiling when you spoke to him.
this was regular to him. he was more than confident that you were in love with him when you flashed a warm smile at him and asked him for his input on each topic that bounced around the table.
his heart raced each time he fixed his lips to speak, mortified that he’d embarrass himself in front of you but he spoke smoothly and clearer than ever in his low adverb voice. currently, the conversation was on how yuji believed that choso was a terrible teacher. a moment that sent choso into an embarrassed spiral the first time it happened.
“i don’t think you’re a bad teacher,” you assure him, “there’s just things you need to learn and there’s …a million things yuji needs to learn. you both need each other’s support.”
your words meant everything to him and it also gave him a new form of confidence. it wasn’t that he really lacked confidence. he was just too stuck up in his own world to care about anything else.
at the end of your night, unknowingly making choso crave you even more as he continues life with his unrequited love, choso walks with you to the bus stop.
“oh, i meant to say thanks for the flowers. i think it’s a coincidence that you bought them, considering they’re rare…and they’re my favorite.” you say.
“oh…i didn’t know that.” choso replied. he felt terrible for lying. he knew a lot about you. he knew what kind of music you liked, what your favorite movies and shows were. everything. but he didn’t want you to run off because of his tendency to be honest and he might end up saying the wrong thing.
“do you…have instagram?” choso suddenly asks you as he noticed the bus approaching. you don’t think anything of it and you give him your username while he gives you his. he wanted to smile when he felt your phone in his hands but he managed to keep his disassociated expression.
when the bus arrived, the vehicle hissed as its doors opened up so you can board. you looked back at choso and waved goodbye to him and gave him a quick hug before you got onto the bus.
you quickly waved to him again the moment the you sat down on the bus and choso would wave back and there a a subtle smile on his face. once the bus pulled off, his smile faded and he took a breath.
‘next time…i’ll take more direct actions…’

george really wrote himself into a corner with dany bc she has to deal with the dothrakis, burn things in essos, deal with the greyjoys, kill aegon vi, burn things in westeros and form some kind of bond with jon so he can betray her… two books is NOT enough!
Hello! I think it can be done! 😊
My speculation below the cut:
Her villain development in Essos is almost complete, so I think the dothraki takeover and her final showdown with Illyrio (I think!) will be the most significant aspects for GRRM to cover in TWOW through her own eyes, with the Meereen devolution (alongside maybe Volantis) being handled mainly through Barristan's POV, with Tyrion's POV augmenting both. GRRM needs to resolve the echoes of her childhood and Valyrian origin in order for her to enter her doomed endgame in Westeros in ADOS, aware of and preparing to confront Aegon.
The Greyjoy plot will happen alongside that, because it's truly significant in providing the transport that Dany needs to travel West with her armies, and whatever Euron's plot will be will happen in ADOS and end comparatively early, probably. Her last hurrah as a victorious savior and a sobering warning at the same time, probably.
ADOS has enough room for the conflict between Aegon and Dany to come to the fore, while Dany actually experiences the foreign continent she considers her stolen property. The old emotional wounds she probably examines in late TWOW will provide the premise for her growing instability in the face of disappointment, rejection and failure to replicate the triumphs and popularity of her past.
I don't think her relationship with Jon will be as central and as significant as the show tried to paint it, and certainly not a romantic relationship, because this conflict isn't between them, it's between herself and the toxic heritage that has shaped her life. Jon's parentage is just one more facet of that, and likely to be entwined with her conflict with his half-brother. The resistance of the North will not matter terribly more than any other region's.
You are right when you think there's not enough time to form a bond with Jon that would make a betrayal a compelling narrative climax to her story. I'm not sure Jon will be significantly involved in her death, even.
Dany's end will ultimately reside in herself, whatever shape it will take, and it will center around her broken relationship with the world and herself, not one specific person.

Alright gamers! I've collected a list of notes that my friends were able to pick up on while reading the leaked guide. It's a bit disjointed and hard since it's quite difficult to read, but here we go. Under the cut is a bulletpoint list of it all.
This is the video I'm talking about, by the way.
And a quite couple of notes:
This isn't the full thing. Several pages were skipped during it. Some sections cut-off abruptly because of that
Some things simply aren't readable (at least to those I've worked with and myself) because of the motion blur from the pages turning and the slightly low quality
I'll leave out a bit of stuff from the stories that aren't terribly relevant (like what happens in them) as I don't really consider them lore. Only bits and pieces from them that are relevant I'll include
With that being said, let us begin with the lore dump.
MudWings chose their own names
MudWings have adobe buildings
MudWings have royal balls
Burn threatened Coral to try and get her into joining her side, but Coral refused
Burn pretty much tried intimidating all of the tribes into siding with her via blackmail
Blaze tried to get Coral on her side and the letter was so disjointed that "she could barely write or string a sentence together"
^ "It was abundantly likely that she had never read a single one of Coral's bestselling scrolls"
Blister bribed Coral into joining her side by promising the treasure that she stolen from the SandWing treasury before she left
Blister memorized all of Coral's scrolls so that Coral would like her more
After the burning of the Summer Palace, the SeaWings refused to speak to Blister because it was only then that Coral realized that Blister was fishy with the death of Kestrel and also manipulating her the whole time
There is a letter from Anemone to Tamarin that's basically a love confession plus a vent dump
^ Anemone tells Tamarin about how she was incredibly isolated her whole life and had no social life due to her mother and status as a princess and animus. She had never seen another dragon that wasn't a SeaWing (except Blister) until the DoD came. She writes about how she wishes that there was a town like Possibility built near the borders of the Sea Kingdom so that the MudWings, RainWings, and SeaWings could all mingle about. She also talks about her insecurities over being a ruler and wishes that Auklet will be the one to step up and claim the throne. Anemone writes about how she feels intense guilt for attempting to kill her family and says that Auklet hasn't done anything like that, thus would be a better queen
^ Anemone wanted to gift Tamarin a pearl but Kinkajou didn't allow for it because she suspected it was enchanted
The Rainforest Kingdom has "strange geological formations" that can be dangerous
Dragonbite vipers have an evolutionary cousin called Lanceheads, which live in the rain forest
Glory theorizes that the reason why the screaming monkeys from THK adapted to scream like that was because it was done by the NightWings so that they would lose sleep, resulting in an easier takeover
RainWing knowledge was limited for ages because of how some outsiders would go in and never return, which is why RainWing venom was unknown
RainWing assassins are real
^ RainWing assassins were known to hunt during the day while NightWing assassins worked during the night
Queen Anaconda's grandmother outlawed the use of venom on dragons due to its lethal nature and later tried to disband her army because of a peace treaty she signed between the RainWings, MudWings, and SkyWings
^ Because of no war, the RainWings become more laid-back and this is why they're like the way they are in the modern day
There is a story about a NightWing named Comet who was hatched under "a" comet (no particular comet specified) and with no full moons. He was supposed to be powerless, yet he had a vision. The story cuts-off there
There's a part with a couple pieces of SandWing treasure
^Desert Tiara: This tiara, worn by queens for centuries, is [???] from silver into spikes resembling cactus spines, and embedded with crystals to represent the precious [???] of the sandwing kingdom
^The Twilight Necklace: This necklace is a long, thin, coiled chain made of a [???] black metal, possibly of NightWing origin. Care should also be taken when [???] [???]"
^The SandWing Scepter: The scepter is a staff of oak wood, plated with [???] gold, and inlaid with onyx and pearls. Records suggest the scepter is possibly [???] [???] and [???] animus-touched, but care should be used when handling the scepter [???] [???] [???]"
^Assorted Gems and Coins: Likely in [???] stamped with Queen Oasis' symbol
Smolder keeps Rose on a leash via a bracelet he got for her and has her in a cage when she's not being good or it's night time
IceWings do not use scrolls to preserve stories, instead using "bards", which are storytellers. They are chosen from birth
^ There is a story about a bard named Caribou in the book who's from The-Village-Of-The-Plentiful-Seals, a village near the gift of sustenance, which are three lakes where if a dragon sticks their claws into the water they'll always catch a seal
Nearly every generation in each family has someone named Caribou to honor an animus whose name was Caribou
Icewings have a yearly feast where they go to The-Village-Of-The-Plentiful-Seals where they eat, sing, tell stories, and dance for five days and five nights
The aurora borealis is said to be the Great Ice Dragon's frostbreath
There are Great Ice Dragon temples that feed the poor and hungry for free
Where-No-Dragon-Goes-Hungry is another village and has a MASSIVE statue of Caribou carved out of whale bone
Where-No-Dragon-Goes-Hungry also does a yearly competition on who can make the best caribou sculpture
We-Venerate-and-Remember-Caribou also has a market that stays open all year and holds the Great ice Dragon temples
Noble IceWings despised the gift of sustenance due to believing that it was a easy way of getting food, saying that it only are lazy and that they should work for their food and be useful to the tribe
Canyon was the name of the Skywing King who married Scarlet. He was like Scarlet, but a man. Obsessed with his appearance and a bit egotistical
Skywings have marriage rituals where the two lovers will fly up in the clouds and say wedding vows or something. They do this alone, there are no wedding guests or anything like that
^ This changed when Scarlet became queen, and she threw lavish parties for marriages, but people didn't really like that (because Scarlet would also have gladiator fights as part of the "party") so most dragons would either do the wedding ritual in secret or would just not marry
SilkWing schools take their dragonets to their hive's misbehavior way twice a year to terrify the young dragonets into obedience
^ "Do HiveWing dragonets get traumatized this way? Nope."
Here are some rules that are listed that SilkWings must follow:
"SilkWings are assigned professions suited to their limited set of skills as a tribe and begin work as soon as they have wings."
"SilkWing partnerships (marriages) are designated by Queen Wasp and her sisters, and are binding unless the queen chooses to sever them."
"To preserve the dignity and unity of our two tribes, personal relationships between HiveWings and SilkWings are not tolerated."
"No trees are allowed in the Hives, neither planted in your terrariums or gardens, nor portrayed in our art, in solemn commemoration of all the lives lost during the tree wars."
"To ensure their safe transit throughout the Hives, all SilkWings must wear bracelets designating their school or place of work at all times. Travel between hives must be cleared with supervisors and local HiveWing authorities."
"All dragons must refrain from stealing or destroying property"
"Each SilkWing metamorphosis must take place within the cocoon."
SilkWing dragonets are taught only by HiveWings, and are told that all HiveWings learn what SilkWings learn at a much much younger age in order to keep SilkWings feeling inferior
Silkwings who are especially good at something, or just quick with their work, are often assigned tasks that are much harder for them. "Troublemakers" are always given the hardest jobs. Io theorizes this is to keep SilkWings too busy and too tired to wish for a better future
Yellowjacket Hive is the "manufacturing" hive and has factories and stuff. They produce glasses, lamps, and book printers. They also have a university that specializes in engineering
Hornet Hive is the economy hive, where shops are everywhere, everyone is in accounting, and has a university for commerce, and apparently there are companies or something because Hornet Hive is where people manage their employees which are scattered throughout the continent
Vinegaroon Hive specialized in ecology, and has a bunch of cool fish in a lake (they get eaten). Dragons from Vinegaroon Hive are usually the ones to lead research expeditions? They also host hunting trips
Mantis Hive is still just "The College Place" where they teach HiveWings to become professors for the other colleges in other hives. They also focus on innovation, and part of the hive collapsed a while ago which is theorized to be from an industrial experiment
Tsetse Hive specializes in doctor stuff and healing and stuff. They probably have a med school. It is now basically confirmed that Tsetse Hive has a prison where anyone over the age of 50 is sent. since Wasp cant control elderly dragons
LeafWings don't have very much
There's some letters from Sequoia to someone named Linden, and then Belladona takes over and sends a letter to Sequoia about how her letters are no longer welcome but most of the words are too blurry to make out. I think this part is just about how the PoisonWings and SapWings used to have friendlier relations, but Belladonna changed this when she took over

List of potential AUs
AU masterpost
*bonus stuff*
Size Swap Episode - Takes place in the middle of chapter 28, but barely mentioned.  I wonder why…
THE GIRLS THE GIRLS THE GIRLS - A silly little animation that I love <3
What happened to the people who were abducted? - Bad stuff, that’s why I left it out of the main story.
Stolen Story Lore - Lore taken right off the desk of a character in the story.
The poor soul who fell into the normal-world (aka Alexis’ and our world) - Unfortunately, falling into strange worlds goes both ways.
Refs - The main three + the founders! (I will add more refs later)
Refs ver. 2 - canon heights in the other-world universe (my hand for scale)
A&E’s relationship - A bit about their love languages and how they connect
A&E’s insecurities - Every character has their flaws. (Might add more characters as they’re introduced)
The GEMS - Each holds a different weapon.
(Kaijune Book - A bit suspicious that I’m putting this near the other-world stuff, isn’t it?)
Shrinking Cabin series:
Shrinking Cabin - Daniella inherits a cabin from her late uncle.  Little does she know the cabin has a much smaller connecting counterpart.
Shrinking Cabin pt 2 - Living in a cabin that can be peered into at any moment isn’t very fun. Daniella tries to get her point across, but now things are so much worse.
Shrinking Cabin pt3 - How long will Daniella be stuck here? Things would be so much better with a friend around.
Shrinking Cabin pt4 (finale) - After one problem finally gets solved, Daniella can focus on the several other problems that aren’t.
Disappearing Cabin series:
Disappearing Cabin pt1 - Back to where it all began. Can Daniella reverse the affects of the cabin, or will she be stuck small?
Disappearing Cabin pt2 - From big to small then back again, Daniella can’t seem to keep any one size!
Winter’s Everlasting:
Winter’s Everlasting - A freezing world where wolves can talk, fairies and dragons exist, and- oh! The circus is in town!
Winter’s Everlasting Creature Index
Language barrier g/t:
Takeover Scenario - A dying Earth meets a slightly better (and bigger) version of itself.
Takeover Scenario pt2 - Learning what works between worlds.
little bonus snippet

Bonus Scenario 2 - Can the universe postpone the upheaval of everything as we know it until after the first date, please?
Poll story:
Master list of all parts
CREATURE LORE - Some info on Ralyr’s species and its kin.
Creature Concept Pages
Random Prompts:
g/t brainrot - Something short I posted on a whim.
Role reversal - This time giant is scared of tiny.
Dad bros bonding prompt - Pretty much what the prompt says. A human and a borrower finding some common ground.
You Get What You Wish For - It’s not fun being cursed to live as a doll, especially when it’s you who cursed yourself (and your family, but they don’t know that).
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
Tall boi gets smol - What if I create a dude who’s 6’4? What if I have him drink something weird once that makes him shrink smaller and smaller in intervals in front of his fiancé? What if little dude finally stops shrinking at 1 & 1/2 centimeters tall? What if I put him into some situations?
pt 2, another situation - Not only has he lost his only way of communication, he HIMSELF got lost. Here’s hoping he makes it back in one piece.
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
Giant as unlimited resource prompt - Would you like to be an unwilling supplier of a new self-sufficient nutritional meat product for the rest of the world? Trick question, it doesn’t matter! You’ve been selected!
Landfill Apocalypse - Inspired by a post about tinies living isolated from humans.
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
Freezing Weather prompt - A borrower ends up stuck in a freezing car. His only way out? The car’s human owner.
Freezing Weather prompt (part 2) - Wow, Alice seems really stressed out. Surely it’s not the tiny man who ran away into her walls that’s causing all that stress, right? It’s exam week, after all; everyone’s stressed.
Freezing Weather prompt (part 3) - Finally, with Alice knowing the truth about him, Fen can rest. Or can he…?
Freezing Weather prompt (part 4) - Time for Alice’s pov! A recap of the first two episodes, but experienced from the ‘giant’s’ perspective.
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
“You too” - Something I felt compelled to write after seeing a silly comic strip.
Uncanny Valley - Quick drabble about the idea of an uncanny valley giant.
Alien Abduction horror (but make it g/t) - Two guys chillin in a rental house in the middle of a desert known for ufo sightings. What could possibly go wrong?
A couple g/t dreams - Some dreams that had pretty decent story plots that I quickly wrote down, then expanded on.
Tinies as figurines - The story of a beautiful music box (inspired by the one in this music video)
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
Tiny stuck outside -> tiny stuck inside - A two-part story inspired by this post.

what r ur thoughts abt girl-liker emma? i think in one of ur posts u talked abt her being obviously attracted to women and like i wanted to hear more abt that
i think probably in that post i was trying to obliquely refer to the really weird intense relationships emma forms with other women and the way her identity/image/psyche ends up mixing with theirs...this is the case with astrid bloom, this happens with her impersonations/adoptions of jean's image, arguably this is also true of her bodyswap story with ororo (that case specifically is also very connected to the hellfire club as a racist organization obsessed with like. historical aesthetics and takeover, often through very intimate invasions. as seen with the intimate invasion of the bodyswap, where emma and shaw frame her use of ororo's stolen powers/body as sensual and pleasurable). My point is this seductive loss of the self is often homoerotic for emma.
an interesting thing here maybe is that this muddling of identity is often for a man's benefit. she kisses shaw in ororo's body (and the entire possession is carried out in conjunction with him) and uses jean's image to seduce scott. and that's kind of quintessential emma isn't it. fighting for power, drawing on these images OF power (ororo and jean, in this case) all within this very patriarchal constraint. and then that ties into the constant question with emma, of what desires are genuine and what is manufactured, and whether any of that matters.
anyway i kind of got off track a little here but there's my attempt at an explanation.

There's one major but rarely discussed aspect of bigotry that is in need of highlighting: the persecution complex.
The line on how "everyone is the hero of their own story" is very true. Most people want to think of themselves as a positive force for good—however they define that good. But you also have a lot of bigots who actively promote and push hatred against other groups that, at the end of the day, are made of innocent individuals who just want to be left alone and live their lives.
So how does someone who wants to think of themselves as a hero, as a positive force, justify to themselves going after the object of their bigotry?
By changing the narrative, and making it such that the minority group is secretly nefarious, and painting the bigot as the actual victim, acting in either self-defense or the defense of others. And this is incredibly flexible:
Gays and lesbians do not want to marry and live their lives. No, they're actually trying to tempt our children into sin and corruption.
Jewish people don't want to be left in peace to learn and study. No, they're actually plotting a world takeover with Capitalism/Communism, or are implementing a White/Palestinian Genocide.
Black people are not victims of generations of prejudice and injustice. No, they're actually all violent criminals, who want to do to White People what was done to them, while being lazy and battening themselves on benefits stolen from hard-working Whites.
Trans people don't want to just transition and experience life in a way that they feel most comfortable. No, they actually want to mutilate and sterilize our children.
And so forth.
It's a quieter, more pernicious type of bigotry that twists reality into a frame that makes the hater into the object of hatred, and the victim into the cruel attacker, against whom the bigot is merely defending themselves.
And it justifies any action the bigot takes.
Criminalizing homosexuality and gender transition isn't done in order to shove the queer community into the closet, no, of course not! It's needed in order to Protect the Children!
The Holocaust wasn't done in order to kill a hated minority group, no, of course not! It was necessary, in order to defend the White Race against the "untermensch" who were threatening their rightful place in the world!
Segregation wasn't done to keep black people in line and grind them underfoot, no, of course not! It was required in order to protect the honor of White Women!
And so forth.
Same pattern. Same excuse, just with different words swapped in.

20 Questions for Writers
tagged by: @grand-magnificent thank you so much!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
108! Wow!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
1,047,840 words! I've been writing a while :)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
My main right now is pro wrestling, currently NJPW with some AEW :) . I've got a lot of different ones on there, but The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is still top with 33 fics
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
burn this city, my first fic, lawlight for Death Note. Nothing special tbh.
ghost in the machine, my first longfic and third fic, also lawlight for Death Note and also nothing special.
acute gifts, which was a Beth Harmon / Benny Watts knifekink fic. I got in the Queen's Gambit tag very early and so it rose to the top. It's not too bad, not in my top 10 of my own fics but definitely quite charming.
sword and the pen, my second fic, lawlight for death note, nothing special.
Oesterle's Derealization Claim, a Disco Elysium Mathematicians AU. Cherished fic and I am so glad and proud it climbed the ranks to be top 5 :)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Always! I love responding to comments, it's not always right away but I do get there.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Intentionally? flowers grown in forgotten lungs, probably. Like in a lot of ways, that fic is about L giving up, knowing he's going to die, and saying "fuck that, I'll burn all my ideals and drag as many people as I can down with me". I think other fics that I've written have hit people harder, especially the ones that I intended to make a happier followup and lost energy for it. But that one was meant to be absolutely gutting.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'm going to go with the most recent one I'm proud of and say blueprint drift, which I'm sure is more melancholy than some other ones but idk, I love the story that's there, I love to see Takeover lowkey husbanding.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not generally, I can't remember if there was anything too egregious? I've gotten a few passive-aggressive "why won't you finish this" pleas but I tend to shut that kind of behaviour right down.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Hell yeah, though less than I used to. I really like writing new and weird scenarios and I've done a LOT at this point. Some of my top 3 weird ones were "skeleton threesome" "the cask of amontillado but it's kink" "spider/bat porn"
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
A few! My craziest is probably Blair Witch Project x The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: The Grey Desert Mythos. Still very proud of that fic!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No! I have had a fic chapter podficced though, which was a transcendent experience: Static Contact [podfic]
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
SO many. SO many. That's probably why my word count is so high hehe
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
HMMM. In practice my favourite is whatever I'm obsessed with at the moment, in which case Jaykada (Jay White / Kazuchika Okada, NJPW). By the numbers? Blondeyes (Angel Eyes / Blondie, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'm pretty good about letting go of things I don't think I'll finish, so there's nothing I'm holding out desire for at this point. I have a longfic cooking but at present I do think I'll get it together for it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, strong POV, thematic intensity. People say my settings are very evocative/atmospheric, which is flattering since I worked pretty hard on those.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Humor. I always feel so awkward with clown characters. I don't really do plotty works in the conventional sense, but I don't think that's a weakness, more of just an intention.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
So funny, I'm working on a fic with that right now! I would say the my practice is to write the dialogue however the POV character is able to understand it, and however they parse it. In my mind if you speak the language or know a solid translator, it's all right to actually "quote the dialogue" in its characters for the reader who can speak the language. If you don't, probably best not to use machine translation and only stick to vetted phrases if you can.
For the fic I'm writing right now, it's a lot of fun because the Okada/Jay series spans different stages of understanding they have of each other's language. In the young lion era fic, Jay barely speaks any Japanese, and Okada has patchy English but he's sort of limping along. In the current WIP, Jay's Japanese is better, but not perfect, and similarly with Okada's English. So they sort of speak to each other semi-fluidly and the gaps in understanding are written in the text. So it's fun to think about how in the later fic, Jay speaks fluent Japanese and exclusively talks to Okada in Japanese to keep his language skills sharp.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
In another life, Batman. Specifically I was inspired by The Dark Knight but I based a lot of my work on the comics.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
My favourite fic is always my most recent, which was Shadow Gimmick (a FinJay Fic!). Barring that, the Grey Desert Mythos :)

First Lines Tag Game
I was tagged about 10 days ago by @authoralexharvey Thank you hun!
Sorry it's taken me a big, I've been off Social a lot this month, most of my posts are scheduled, but I've hopped on today so I didn't want to leave this tag any longer.
How To Play:
Share the first sentence of your last ten stories. If you haven’t written ten stories, share as many first sentences as you have.
Tagging Forward (with no pressure) To: @faelanvance @minamoroz @duckingwriting @oh-no-another-idea @talesofsorrowandofruin @daisywords @nectargrapes @ashen-crest and @afoolandathief
1. Words of the Witches
Stepping out of the coffee shop and back onto the streets of the city of Toding, I gently pull the door closed behind me, tossing a purposefully casual smile back at the waitress as she locks the door, and flips the sign to closed.
2. Darkling
After six weeks on the road together, watching Lizzy had become something of a habit for Andric Roche.
3. Changeling
In the nocturnal peace of Lizzy's bedroom, that was lit only by the dim shards of light from a newly risen crescent mood, the thud of her jewellery box hitting the hard, wooden floor, and snapping open, seemed amplified.
4. Tale of the Shadowfox
Once upon a time, deep in the frozen lands to the north, there lived a community of foxes. They dug their dens deep into the arctic tundra, kept them protected from the chill winds beneath layers of powdery snow, and guarded each other from the arctic wolf packs, the bears that called the ice floes home, and the humans that made the glacial forests their hunting grounds.
5. The Masquerade
The receptionist is smiling and you shift your weight, anxiously awaiting a response to the CV you just placed in her hands.
Smiling is a good sign, right?
6. The Outer Wilds
With a groan, Dan Wyatt slid the kettle into position over the small campfire, and collapsed onto his bedroll. The sun hadn't set that long ago, and the air was still hot in his lungs as he sucked in a breath, only to release it out in a weary sigh.
7. Takeover
"Why did you have to knock over the bloody vase?" Stella grumbled as she and Reilly ran through the streets of Antillune, the city guards barely a street behind them, and gaining.
8. Stolen
A gold coin pulled from the nobleman's pocket. Five silver strikes from the lady's purse. A cheap brass ring, but the gemstone was genuine and a handful of copper bits transferred from a shopkeeper to the outstretched hands of some street orphans.
9. A Rose By Any Other Name (Doctor Who Fanfiction)
It couldn't be—
It wasn't possible—
His blood ran cold, and fear froze in his lungs. The light of regeneration flowing through the frosted windows of his Tardis made his skin crawl.
10. A Grim Awakening
Grim Reapers look like everyone else. No long black cloak, or heavy scythe, just a hood to ward off the ever present chill of death and their spirit-hound companion.

I have never read a spider-ham comic in my life, so idk how good this actually would be, but listen.
if I wrote a spider-ham comic, we all know I would have it be based around Mysterio. this is just my silly rough draft concept of what the story/comic could possibly be like.
(this is a little long, and yes it's inspired by [This Post]):
Mysteriape is doing some wacky little stunt thing against Spider-Ham, it's getting serious, the usual cartoony stuff, but then suddenly a second "Mysterio" appears-- a Moose? the fighting between Porker and Ape and Ape turns to engage with Moose.
Acedia, the little sloth, is standing behind Mooseterio. Porker takes notice and sneaks around the two Mysty's and decided to engage with her. Questioning her as Moose and Ape bicker and confront each other.
Mooseterio removes his helmet to show he's Quentin Bull. Porker is shocked, but he doesn't know why.
Mysteriape removes his own helmet to show he's Daniel Apehart. Again, Porker is surprised but doesn't know why. (this is just a gag)
it's revealed that Quentin was the original to have the costume and concept, but someone else got to him first before he even had a chance to go after Spider-Ham. (Acedia <3) and so, Daniel, who had been a friend of Quentin's for a long enough time to learn of the plan a little… Decided it would be such a waste of a concept and took over. Changing the name to fit himself and stealing Quentin's gadgets all for himself to use against Spider-Ham.
Quentin, although happy with Acedia, was growing frustrated and tired that Daniel was using his image for so long and wanted to set the record straight once and for all. Acedia understood but wanted to tag along to make sure he was okay and even helped him to recreate those gadgets and tools that were stolen from him.
Spider-Ham is trying to process all of this information.
Acedia is just kinda there for now and offers Porker some candy awhile they watch the two Mystys go at it for a bit with their illusions and stuff. Acedia explains herself in the meantime to Porker. how she also had abilities but didn't like being out in the open and all. Porker understands.
eventually the two mysterio tire themselves out and Quentin stands victorious for Spider-Ham to takeover and do with Daniel Apehart as he normally would.

Been working on an urban / modern pirate AU for roderick and im just:
Roderick "Black Tide" Blackthorn - Urban Pirate
In a sprawling coastal city, where neon lights flicker against stormy skies and the law is as corrupt as the underworld, Roderick Blackthorn is a man who operates in the shadows. Known by many as the "Black Tide," he's the kingpin of an underground network that rules the seas—not with wooden ships and cutlasses, but with stealth drones, advanced tech, and encrypted currencies. His crew consists of outcasts, hackers, smugglers, and mercenaries, all bonded by loyalty to their captain and the thrill of freedom.
Background:
Roderick was born into privilege, the son of a powerful business magnate who controlled the largest shipping company on the East Coast. But after his family was betrayed and murdered in a hostile corporate takeover, Roderick disappeared into the underworld. Over the years, he reinvented himself as the Black Tide, a legendary pirate who preyed on corporate greed and corrupt officials. He hijacks shipments, leaks classified information, and crashes the stock market for sport. To the public, he's a ghost story, a faceless menace. But to the oppressed, he's a symbol of rebellion.
Modern Pirate Code:
- Tech and Magic: While most of the city is blind to it, Roderick wields an ancient form of magic tied to water, shadows, and storms. His abilities to manipulate the tides and summon violent storms have been passed down from a mysterious lineage, unknown even to him. But in the digital age, his power extends beyond the natural world—he bends data streams, cracking firewalls and weaving through the cyberwaves like a ship through fog.
- Fleet of Ghost Ships: Roderick commands a fleet of stealth ships, modern vessels equipped with cloaking technology, which can move undetected across the water. His flagship, *The Tempest*, is a state-of-the-art ship hidden beneath an abandoned shipping warehouse on the waterfront, connected to the ocean through a series of secret underwater tunnels. It’s said that when *The Tempest* appears on the horizon, a storm isn’t far behind.
- Pirate’s Intuition: Even in the heart of the city, Roderick is always a step ahead of his enemies. His Pirate's Intuition, an innate ability, allows him to sense danger before it strikes. Whether he's navigating the high seas or slipping past urban surveillance, this sixth sense is his greatest weapon.
Personality:
Roderick is both ruthless and charismatic. His charm wins over those who cross his path, but he doesn’t hesitate to make tough, merciless decisions. Though he has a sharp sense of justice, it’s a justice of his own making—targeting the rich, the powerful, and those who exploit the helpless. He operates by a code: never betray your crew, never take more than what you need, and always finish what you start.
Appearance:
Standing at a towering 7'5", Roderick is an intimidating presence even in the urban jungle. He’s typically seen wearing a long black coat with high-tech enhancements—concealed weapons, communication devices, and hidden compartments for stolen goods. His eyes are a striking gold, which seem to glow faintly in the dark, and his hair, though often tucked under a wide-brimmed hat or hood, cascades in wild, wind-swept waves. His skin is tanned, weathered by years of harsh elements, and covered in tattoos—each one a symbol of his victories at sea and in the shadows of the city.
Skills:
- Tactical Genius: Roderick thrives on outmaneuvering his opponents, whether it's rival crews, corporate assassins, or the police. He’s a master of planning elaborate heists and has a reputation for pulling off the impossible.
- Close-Quarters Combat: While he carries an array of tech-enhanced pistols and knives, Roderick prefers to get up close in a fight. He’s a master of street brawling, incorporating modern hand-to-hand combat techniques with his old-school pirate instincts.
- Hydrokinesis and Electrokinesis: In this universe, Roderick’s control over water and storms has evolved. He can summon rain in the city to blind enemies, flood underground tunnels to escape, or use electricity to hack into high-security systems. His powers give him the edge when the stakes are highest.
His Goal:
Roderick’s ultimate mission is to dismantle the megacorporations that hold the city in an iron grip. He seeks to redistribute their wealth, freeing the lower classes from oppression. He dreams of a world where people live by their own rules, not the laws of a corrupt government. But there’s also a deeper, personal motive—revenge for the family he lost. The one man who ordered their deaths still lives, and Roderick won’t stop until he’s taken him down, piece by piece.
Allegiances:
- Crew: His crew, an eclectic mix of hackers, smugglers, and mercenaries, is fiercely loyal. They refer to themselves as the "Ghost Fleet" because of their ability to move undetected through the city's infrastructure. Each member is an expert in their field, from lockpicking to cyberwarfare.
- Black Market Connections: Roderick has deep ties to the black market, particularly in the realm of stolen tech and information. He supplies arms and equipment to underground movements across the world, furthering his reach.

A Whovian Watches Star Trek for the First Time: Part 078 - Slave Market Rescue
Star Trek: Enterprise - Season 4 Episode 4 - Borderland
Tumblr media
We start this one with a cold open on a Klingon War Ship, which picks up two humans, who then precede to kill everyone aboard.
After the intro, we cut to a Starfleet prison, where Archer is visiting someone, specifically a prisoner who is apparently a genius for genetic modification. This guy and archer have the start of pretty interesting philosophical discussion about how inventions can bring both positives and negatives into the world, and the inventor's responsibility over those consiquences.. It's pretty on the nose way to bring an episode's theme into play, but it is an amazing theme to cover. The episode is about genetic engineering, and uses the example of nuclear science as a comparison example, but I'm also kind of reminded of another example in the Haber Process, a chemical process that can be used to make Fertiliser for crops really cheaply, but was also used to produce poison gas in World War 1.
Apparently, the humans who massacred that Klingon ship were genetically enhanced humans stolen by this prisoner. Archer is tasked with finding them, and bringing them back to earth. The Prisoner, his name Arik Soong, brings fantastic energy as a villain. I love his small innocent jabs at everyone, like telling Malcolm he "hasn't been seeing his share of the publicity". The way he delights getting under everyone's skin is just great, and I love that he seems to have some genuine parental love for the Augments. He is a fascinating villain.
It's lovely seeing Enterprise finally fixed up from the Damage the Xindi put in it. T'Pol has now officially joined Starfleet, and it's kinda cute that he got her a gift for signing up. I love the slight redesign that the bridge has received. The blue really makes it look a lot nicer than just the cold grey over the previous seasons had. A lot less utilitarian, and more homely.
While hunting the Augments, Enterprise is hit and Run by an alien group called The Orion Syndicate, apparently slavers, who transport 9 people off of Enterprise, so Enterprise's current mission is diverted to rescue them.
Luckily, Soong has access to the slave market planet, so he and Archer transport down together for the rescue. Archer's plan is to buy out the prisoners, which works for most of the captives, but T'pol was already sold. The plan to save her involved starting a full blown Riot. However during the process Soong attempts an escape of his own. Archer does successfully bring him back to Enterprise however.
Throughout the episode, we keep cutting back to the augments, and while I'm sure the whole power struggle between Malik and Raakin is plot important, I didn't really care much for them at all, at least until the end. Malik's ruthless takeover and murder of Raakin though was great at setting him up as a villain.
During the escape, some Orions open a firefight with Enterprise, but the Augments show up in their Klingon ship. They fight their way through enterprise, take archer hostage all for rescuing Soong, then make their escape.
This episode was a good set up for the coming story arc. We've got a phenomenal pair of villains, an amazing theme to play with and one hell of a cliffhanger. I'm excited for this arc.
Also, just because of how my day worked out, I ended up watching this one with my Partner, who has never watched an episode of Star Trek before and I'm still taking through Doctor Who. His review is that it "wasn't bad"

Just wanted to let you know you’re my favorite author on here, and I can never wait for the next story!!! Also, if you ever decide to publish books, I will buy all of them!! 💜💜
You are the CUTESTTTTTTT oh my god thank you so much !!!! More stuff coming very soon I promise 💘💓💝🙂‍↕️🤞
I’ve actually been working on a book outside of my blog for quite some time that I HOPE to publish when I finish, but it’s FAR too long to post on here and I’d be too scared of getting it stolen. so I will only let it exist outside of these bounds when it’s a properly copyrighted physical or digital version !
For those wondering, it’s a sci-fi romance that takes place in a futuristic city and touches on themes of technofascist AI takeover and where we draw the boundaries of love as they pertain to “inhuman” vessels ! It’s huge passion project of mine considering how much I despise AI and its consequent takeover, but I also understand the emotional appeal of something with virtually no emotion. That’s all I’m going to say, but I hope to share the details with you guys down the line if I can get it physically published and I promise to send you all copies with little freebies inside 👼🤞💓
In the meanwhile though, more fics coming soon! They’re being worked on as we speak! I love you so so much angel, have the best week and thank you for these kind words 🫂💖🩷💝💓💘🫶

Travel Poetry - Berlin
BERLIN
I
The voyage to the capital of Deutschland was
The total antithesis of Greece.
I went on my own. In the January of 2019.
Berlin was perfekt, herrlich, gutaussehend, effizient.
It amazed me how a city of four million
Inhabitants could work as seamlessly as it did.
It was nothing like Paris or London (which both
Have psychotic populations as well). Rather,
Everything, from the transport, the way the
Trams and trains worked, to how the streets
Were spacious and spread out for the other
Traffic to flow through, to how the buildings
Were structured with their handsome walls,
All pointed to a sense of keen, impressive
Organisation. You might laugh, thinking
This is a cliché. But that’s exactly what it was like.
II
My hostel was in Moabit. Which is pretty
Much city centre. So I could kinda walk about
And simply explore. I went down to the
Potsdamer Platz. And the skyscrapers were
Immense and the plaza teeming with a wide
Type of modernity. I’ve watched documentaries
About Berlin, about how it was razed to
Rubble in 1945. And one of the places I recalled
Seeing in complete ruin was this very plaza
I was standing in now, with its elite urbanity.
And, very close to where I was, was the
Führerbunker. That infamous manic who we
All use on an almost weekly basic, with the
Same kind of regularity that we say other
Names like Jesus Christ or, well, God himself.
He was there, here, in this very city,
Operating not even that long ago, about seven
Or eight decades back, and this was where
He dictated lifelong changes to Europe,
And the entire world, and this was where
He nipped a cyanide capsule, in a bunker,
Not too far away at all, just after giving
One to his beloved dog. And, to look at
The scenery around you now, you wouldn’t
Think that any of such psychotic history
Had ever happened. All you saw was a
Well run metropolis, almost sleepy in
A post-Christmas January.
III
Speaking of World War II. And its relation
To just how close it was in historical terms.
My grandfather was a soldier in this war.
He was from Norfolk, England, and served
In the Royal Engineers. He was present during
Several countries during and after the conflict.
And, after the Allies had won in 1945, he
Was stationed in Berlin, when the city was
Still shaking from defeat, and in occupied hands.
The Allied soldiers were left to clear up the
Mayhem the Nazis had caused in their own city.
One of my grandfather’s tasks was to disarm
The Nazi ammunitions, and the other bizarre
Collections that they had looted from across
Berlin. My grandfather and his regiment found
An abandoned stash of guns and ammunition in
A building that had seen the last battles before
The takeover. And, amongst the stash, of all
Things, was a bundle of swords. As in, a collection
Of rather rare and antique swords. That the
Nazi soldiers had stolen from somewhere
And kept for themselves, as if they were toys.
Granddad’s superior told him to “dispose”
Of the swords and guns. And so, not knowing
What else to do, Granddad took the bundles
Down to the Spree river, which was close
To where they made the discovery. And they
Simply hurled the contents off into the water.
They all sank, with their weight. … And, I
Often wonder whether those antique swords
Are still there on the riverbed of the Spree,
Somewhere. And, actually: I did go down to
The Spree myself, and cycle along it, and it
Made me feel close to my grandfather, with
This sense of lost mystery.
[Just as an extra story. My Grandfather was
Positioned on the outskirts of Berlin, in the
Aftermath of the war. In Spandau Prison.
He was a prison guard. That was when
Albert Speer was held as an inmate, awaiting
To find out what would happen to him
After his Nazi crimes. And, it astonishes me
That this man was a close friend of the man
Mentioned ^ above, and was clearly aware
And culpable with the Final Solution, and
Yet he only served 20 years in prison for it
And that he was eventually released, and
Afterwards was allowed to publish books.
And lots of people bought his books
Because he was allowed to write them in
Prison and because they were keen to know
What an inner member of that fascist faction
Was actually like. Scary. Incredulous.]
IV
I took the metro over to the east side of
The city afterwards. And I went to a museum
Which showed what the Soviet side of the city
Was like, from the mid 1940s up until the late
1980s. And, it was fascinating in a completely
Different way. Again, I’ve watched many
Documentaries about the Soviet Union.
And have a decent general knowledge about
The time zone, and the basics of the history,
And how Berlin was divided and so on.
But, stepping inside this museum was like
Going into a science fiction novel, or film.
Or, as if being a character in a retro videogame.
The museum would show you how
The ‘standard bedroom’ would look in
An East Berlin house or apartment,
In the Cold War era. And so they had the
Electronics and gear that were used back then.
And, as a ‘Westerner’ from Scotland, it
Was all totally different to anything I’d
Experienced before. Just the colours and
The shapes of basic things, such as
The telephones or the televisions,
Were all like an imitation of reality.
I’ve always thought that about the
Soviet Union: as if it never really happened
And was almost made up, or faked.
That the most surveillant, oppressive
Empire of all time was almost fictitious.
The museum went on to explain how
People were spied on. And it said that around
A hundred people were shot trying to
Breach the Berlin Wall. The Stasi had
A network of thousands of civilians
That they manipulated against each
Other in order to make arrests and monitor
Behaviour. The Cold War, like WWII,
Was in recent memory, and its effects
Were still here on the European continent.
V
I went cycling through the Tiergarten
And even though it was cold and rainy
And the trees weren’t in bloom because
It was January, it was still glorious and
Among the best bike rides I can think of.
VI
Would highly encourage anybody to
Go to Berlin. It is a monumental ‘feat’
Of a city. When I got back to Scotland
After I went there, I actually dreamed
About Berlin for months. You know
When you get recurring dreams? When
I slept I kept being transported back
To Berlin. And I was saddened when
I woke up, because I wasn’t there anymore.
In the future, I do aim to go back.

Lore dump on “Scars of Black and White”
What is “Scars of Black and White”? Well it’s this version of the Unova games mashed with some parts from the manga versions. The Arc is divided into five parts, Act 1, Act 2, Act 3, Climax, and the epilogue.
Act 1 encompasses the events of the first black and white games up until when Hilbert and Hilda gain their final badge. Out of any other act in the Unova arc, this one is the most lighthearted as the black and white twins (Hilbert and Hilda), explore Unova discover new loves, and fight Pokémon battles. However, no one could ever expect what would happen afterward.
Act 2 is the later half of the Black and White storyline, and pretty much begins with Bianca getting killed off the plasma revolt. This is when you get hit with the spiked trauma bat. After the battle with ghetsis, hilbert gets fused within the light stone and is stolen by Ghetsis after his defeat. This means that Hilda and hilbert are the only protagonists here that haven’t fought the elite 4 and became champion.
Act 3 begins a few months before the story and follows Hilda and N finding the Neo team plasma base and beating Ghetsis a second time. Not wanting to accept defeat he reveals he has found kyurem and fused with Reshiram Hilbert and commands it to attack the duo. both of them barely escape with Hilda losing her arm via frostbite and N getting scarred. The protagonists, and their Rival Hugh, get their starters from Hilda who became an assistant for Juniper in order to atone for Bianca’s death. Much like the first act, it has a lighter tone. However, it’s not as fluffy as the first act due to the plasma attack during act 2. And as ghetsis plans for his takeover of the world.
The Climax of “scars of black and white” is the zenith of the story and is also another part of “the fuckening” (alongside another Kalosian crisis). Nate, Hilda, Rosa, Hugh, N, Cheren, and Roxie all face off against team neo plasma for the fate of Unova. During the final battle with Ghetsis, Hilbert shields an attack from Ghetsis’ Kingambit (he has one in the AU btw) and gets critically injured in the process. After beating Ghetsis, N tries at one final attempt to foolishly redeem Ghetsis, he gets beat by Ghetsis and losses his eye. However, His Hydreigon gets furious and lands a dragon rush on Ghetsis and kills him. Ending the threat of team plasma once and for all. However, Hilbert and N’s Zekrom fuse and the original dragon: OZYMANDIGON. And with Hilbert, now human, lying beside him. Hilbert and Hilda finally Reunite after two years of being separated.
the epilogue of “scars of black and white” follows both the Unova heroes as they complete the elite four and become champion status trainers. Ozymandigon secured his place as the dragon king of Unova with the unovan champions N, Iris, and Alder as his Allies. As for where are the heroes of Unova are now… Both Nate and Rosa are Celebrated as the kids who saved Unova and meet the heroes of Kalos, Roxie and Cheren becoming respected amongst the gym leaders, Hugh expressed his feeling towards Nate and both began to heal, and finally, both Hilda and Hilbert had a heartfelt reunion with their mom and left Unova in order to get away from it all (ala Steven universe future ending).

over specific writing trope kink: Fusions
-tagged Ryuko from klk on a ‘tag a female blorbo’ post. mostly cus she’s a fun tomboy and female shonen protag who’s allowed to act like a shonen protag. then I remembered her transformation was basically a fusion with Senketsu and that’s part of what stood out about her to teen me. I was not immune to girl and he/him genderless entity that only she can hear and understand reaching their full power via one wearing the other as armor. and hitting you with “don’t lose your way” when they do it.
-in pokemon my fav box legendaries are reshiram/zekrom and necrozma. I like their taoist and space motifs to begin with, and fusion is the icing on the cake. the original dragon being so attached to its human companions and their ideologies that it splits itself into independent beings is fascinating. do reshiram and zekrom have separate senses of identity or do they see each other as another self? no one’s doing it like them. and don’t get me started on necrozma. having its true self stripped and stolen from it, it can now only reach its true form through fusion. in games without z crystals it can’t go ultra at all, so the fusion isn’t just a stepping stone but the closest it can get to being its original self again. it’s shown as a hostile takeover/possession type beat, but I like to speculate that post story when necro is no longer running around in a rage it could be more of a consensual mind meld. I wonder if both parties could say, come to prefer being dusk mane rather than solgaleo and necrozma (separately). yes this is about a being wearing its partner/other half as armor again.
-haven’t seen stevens universe but know Garnet is a fusion on purpose and I’ve heard her beautiful song about it. looking respectfully
-the mirror scene in turning red where they try to seal the panda spirit made me recoil internally when I saw it years ago. instinctively thought ‘it splits you in half’ in mild horror.
-this one isn’t that deep but do any cartoon network kids remember the ben 10/generator rex crossover where they fused. Ben and Rex started as kinda antagonistic rivals but became friends by the end of the special, and they fused by having Ben turn into upgrade. yes this is about characters wearing each other as armor or weaponry again sorrry
-obligatory haven’t seen venom but looking respectfully
do you see my vision
