Every Owner's Regretful Dog Trick

SMG3 is showing Tari some dog tricks that Eggdog has already learned. But when he accidentally mentions his inability to keep treats in his pocket, Tari shows him a trick even SMG3 didn't know Eggdog knew! And that trick...oh boy...It's gonna take some convincing to make Tari keep this embarrassing secret.

This fanfic was an idea I came up with months ago...And even so, I can't help but read this and think of someone I lost...I can't even watch SMG4 as happily as I could because all I think about...is him. Though, I admit. How it turned out, was completely my fault. My hesitation and cowardous was what led to losing them. I don't deserve any leeway. But, I'm still going to dedicate this fanfic to that friend...I hope you're reading this...You know who you are. And...I'm incredibly sorry.

I'm also dedicating this fanfic to @anxious-lee-ler. They love SMG4 as well, and though I don't entirely remember, I think it's safe to assume they helped me greatly with this fanfic. So, thank you. And I hope you all enjoy.

SMG3 had been practicing tricks with Eggdog for a while now. He was holding a whole bag of little graham cracker pieces in his hand to work as treats, and was currently in the process of showing Tari some of the tricks he had taught his precious child. “Eggdog, spin!” SMG3 told him. 

Eager to get a cracker, Eggdog did a sideways spin before getting back upright. 

“Good boy! That’s my good boy!” SMG3 reacted, handing Eggdog a treat. 

Eggdog ate the treat and vibrated on the spot with pure excitement before letting out a happy bark.

“Awwww! What else can he do?” Tari asked. 

SMG3 smiled as he put two cracker pieces in one hand, and one cracker in the other. He showed Tari the hand choices in secret, before closing his hands. “You ready?” Tari nodded her head excitedly and watched from the side. 

“Okay, Eggdog…” SMG3 put out his fists in front of his pet. “Guess.” 

Eggdog sniffed the hands for a few moments, taking the time to figure out the correct one with more treats. Then, Eggdog barked at the right hand. 

SMG3 smiled and opened the right hand, revealing 2 treats in it! “Good boy!” SMG3 fed him the treats before petting him and holding him close to his cheek. “Who’s a good Eggdog? You are! You are! My special boy!” SMG3 cooed. 

Tari covered her mouth and giggled. “If he can do that…Does that mean he can sniff out treats from your pockets?” Tari asked. 

SMG3 chuckled a little bit. “Yeah, actually. I can’t even keep treats in my pocket half the time, cause he’ll always try to get them.” He admitted. 

Tari crossed her arms. “Will you show me?” She asked curiously. 

SMG3 froze in place for a moment. “Uhhh…Show you what?” He asked for clarification. 

“The treat thing.” She told him. 

SMG3 bit his lip. Shit… “Which one?” He asked in an attempt to save himself. 

Tari snatched the treats from SMG3’s hand and looked over at Eggdog. “Eggdog, stay.” Tari ordered. Eggdog barked eagerly and stayed where he was. With Eggdog in place, Tari took a few treats out of the bag and walked closer to SMG3. “Wait, what are you-” SMG3 raised an eyebrow in confusion as Tari put a couple treats into each side pocket of his purple overalls. She took off SMG3’s hat and put a couple treats into the inner flaps of his hat. With those in place, Tari plopped the hat back onto his head. “T-Tari-” SMG3 attempted to protest, fixing his hat. 

But Tari shut him up by shoving a piece of graham cracker into his mouth. “Shhhhh…Don’t question it, alright?” She told him. 

SMG3 rolled his eyes and sighed as he munched on the graham cracker piece. 

Then, Tari took out a couple more treats and put them into his front pocket. “There.” Tari said with an eager little giggle. “Now: Lay down.” Tari told SMG3. 

SMG3 blinked with shock, before turning to look towards Eggdog behind him. Eggdog, funnily enough, had demonstrated his obedience by laying himself down. Tari laughed a bit. “Sorry, I meant SMG3.” Tari admitted. 

Eggdog sat himself up and barked proudly. SMG3 frowned and crossed his arms. “And why should I?” He asked, growing annoyed. “You never provided me a reason.” He told her, with a smirk.

Tari giggled. “Eggdog doesn’t question your commands…so why should you?” She asked. 

SMG3 widened his eyes. “Yeah, but-” 

“Don’t you wanna be a good role model for your child?” Tari asked him next, encouraging him with a little nudge. 

SMG3 was taken aback by this. Damn…She’s got a point… 

SMG3 sighed, too tired to object. “Fine. Whatever you say.” He responded in a bored tone as he laid his back onto the ground. 

Tari smiled excitedly as she turned to Eggdog. “Okay. Go!” She declared. 

Eggdog practically sprinted up to his owner, terrifying the purple villain in an instant. “Wait, WHAT?!” SMG3 sat himself up with horror as he realized what she had been planning all along. SMG3 shrieked and yelped as Eggdog had started shoving his face straight into the corners of his pockets. “BAHA! EGGDOG-” SMG3 scooted himself back, putting out his hand in self-defense. “NO! Eggdog, I’m warning you!” He ordered. 

“Awww, come on SMG3!” Tari crouched herself down to his level. “Don’t you trust him?” She asked. 

“Yes, I do trust him. But THAT DOESN’T MEAN I TRUST YOU!” SMG3 yelled. 

Tari smirked and looked at Eggdog. “Is your Dada not letting you have the treats?” Tari asked him in a baby voice. 

Eggdog looked at Tari and let out the most pain-stricken little whimper he could muster. 

It was almost enough to make Tari cry on the spot. “Awww…You’re making him saaad!” She cooed with hurt in her voice. 

SMG3 widened his eyes. He could feel confusion filling his head, and guilt filling his heart all at once. He had never heard a whine so heart-wrenching, so painfully sad, in his entire life. It…moved him a lot more than he would ever admit. 

“Go!” Tari declared happily. 

Hold up, WHAT?! 

SMG3 squeaked and rolled over, hugging his sides as Eggdog stuck his little nose straight into his left pocket. “No-NOHO SHIHIHIT!” SMG3 wheezed and covered his mouth as a helpless little wobbly grin filled his face. 

Tari gasped and squealed with pure glee. “Yes! I was right!” Tari cheered. “You ARE ticklish! That’s why you can’t handle keeping treats in your pockets!” Tari declared, acting like she had solved the biggest mystery in existence. 

SMG3 quickly tried to push Eggdog away. “Stahap, you’ve had enough-” But SMG3 interrupted himself with a girly shriek that would make even Tari’s squeals seem masculine. “GahaHAHA! NOHOHO DOHOHON’T!” SMG3 squealed again as Eggdog’s curious nose dug itself further into his other hip. “DOHON’T DOHOHO THAHAT!” He protested. 

SMG3’s squeaks mixed with his kicking feet, made Tari absolutely ECSTATIC! “EEEEK! THIS IS SO CUTE!!” Tari squealed, throwing herself around and clapping her hands. Her excitement could not have been more evident. 

SMG3 could feel his face heating up from her reaction alone. “NO IT’S NOHOT!” Desperate to stop the humiliating moment, SMG3 tried to capture his dog. “Get over here-!” He muttered, slightly annoyed. But Eggdog was a sneaky little thing who could dodge his every move. And any attempts to grab him, would make his body all twisted. 

“Go for the hat! There’s treats in the hat!” Tari told Eggdog. 

“NODON’T!” It took only a matter of moments for Eggdog to place his curious nose right where the treat-filled hat was. And because of the hat’s positioning on his head, Eggdog kept poking his nose on the hidden little spot right behind his ear! This was enough to make SMG3 emit a little giggly squeak. 

Tari widened her eyes. “Wait…Was that-” 

“NO!” SMG3 jumped and covered his ears. 

Unfortunately, that action would only raise her suspicion. “There’s NO WAY!” She replayed the two mind-boggling moments through her head over and over again. The adorable thought overwhelmed her mind as she cupped her own cheeks and gasped. “YOUR EARS ARE TICKLISH!?” She practically screamed. 

“NO, NO THEY’RE NOT!” SMG3 quickly tried to argue. 

“Are you suuuuure?” Her face morphed into a face of pure, villainous mischief. “Y-Yes!” SMG3 yelled back. He mentally cursed himself for stuttering at the worst possible time…all the while trying extensively to ignore the chill that had climbed up his spine. 

“So it reeeaally wouldn’t bother you if I just…” Tari wiggled her index finger. “Fluttered my finger-” 

“TARI!” He screeched and covered part of his face. 

“-Ever so delicately against your eeeear?” She brought her fingers even closer to the man with a look so devilishly evil. 

SMG3 uncovered his face and pushed her hand away, shooting her the most vengeful look he could muster. 

Only…this face made him look more ‘angy’ than anything else…

And it didn’t really help that Tari had LAUGHED at his attempted angry face. “OoOoOo! Sooo Scaaaaryyy!” She reacted, sarcasm dripping from her mouth before bursting out laughing. 

“I’MGONNAKILLYOU!” SMG3 threw his fist at her, in an attempt to shut her up.

Keyword: Attempt. 

Tari caught his fist one-handed so effortlessly. “Wooow…so mouthy for someone so ticklish.” Tari teased. “But since my death is inevitable…” Tari’s speedy arm maneuvered his hand around so his wrist was now in her hand. 

SMG3 widened his eyes. “WaitNO!” He protested. 

She gently laid SMG3 down onto the ground. “Might as well make the most of it!” Tari declared rather proudly. 

SMG3 shot her a furious look. “Tari-” He pulled on his hand. “T-TARI?!” He tugged once again as fear filled his face. “Uhoh…” He mumbled. Tari was preventing him from pulling his arm back! With his arm now held hostage, he couldn’t really cover up his ear anymore! 

And naturally, with his owner’s hand out of the way, Eggdog went straight for the spot. 

“OHNOhoo! Nononohoho-!” SMG3 could feel his confidence diminishing in milliseconds. THIS IS NOT GOOD! The man’s worry only increased as he felt Eggdog’s curious nose continuously poke and prod his hat. 

And to make things worse?! The little terror was taking his sweet ass time sniffing out the treats in his stupid hat! Every little poke made him flinch! It was enough to constantly keep him on edge! And the more on-edge he felt, the more ticklish he seemed to get! The idea of Eggdog having full control over him while being stuck in a vulnerable position, was driving his mind absolutely crazy! 

And the worst part?! Eggdog was refusing to give up! 

SMG3 didn’t know what to do with himself! The man had spent the agonizing seconds just struggling to figure out how to cover up his face with only one hand. And though he ultimately chose to cover up his mouth, he knew he only had so long to hide the truth…

The terrifying part was…he could feel the giggles fluttering out of his mouth. His body was beginning to fail him. 

“Come on, Three.” SMG3 heard beside him. Seeing her get closer, SMG3 squeezed his eyes shut as Tari purposely whispered the word “Laugh” into his ear. Just the air was enough to drive him up the wall! 

He squeezed his eyes even more shut. He knew…He knew that regardless of how much brain power he used, he would never be able to stop it! And the moment he does let it out, he’ll never be able to take it back! His poor ego will NEVER recover from this! 

DAMMIT, WHY DID HE HAVE TO MENTION THE TREAT THING TO HER?! This whole thing could have been avoided if he JUST KEPT HIS MOUTH SHUT! He knew! He knew not to bring it up! Cause this is exactly what happens! It’s embarrassing enough when he’s alone and dealing with Eggdog’s antics! But when there’s OTHER PEOPLE WATCHING?! AND INTERVENING?! It’s SO MUCH WORSE! 

But all his hard work went right out the window the moment he felt it…Eggdog’s wet tongue covering the back part of his ear! And GOOD! GOD! 

SMG3 dropped his hand and threw his head back with a long, heavy wheeze. It was all over. SMG3 finally lost his composure. “BAHAHAHAhahaha!” SMG3 pounded his fists into the ground as he bursted out in even more hysterical laughter. “HAHAHAHA-! GAHAHAHAHA!” SMG3 kept bursting out in fits of cackles.

God, he could feel his blush getting darker by the second…

But SMG3’s mind was thrown out of his thoughts yet again as Eggdog had planted yet ANOTHER wet kiss onto his ear! “WAHAHAIT! NONONOHOHOHAHAHA!” He laughed hysterically. 

SMG3 tried to push Eggdog’s face away with his free hand. But the poor man didn’t even have any strength left in him. His cheeks were starting to hurt from just how much he was smiling. “PLEHEHEHEHEASE!” SMG3 was completely losing himself in laughter. He couldn’t think! All he could do was wiggle, kick, and laugh like the world depended on it. And though it felt amazing to laugh…It was getting to be way too much! 

“Okay, okay. Eggdog, Stop.” Tari ordered calmly.  

Most of SMG3’s body had gone completely limp the moment Eggdog had stopped his onslaught. Well…all except for his detained arm. SMG3 had pulled it free from her grasp before rolling himself up into a little ball. The man focused on bringing in as much air as he could…only for him to let out coughing fits littered with cackles throughout. He kept breathing in, desperate to get some oxygen into his lungs. And though it would help immensely, his body kept forcing it out of him in more laughter! It made his laughter sound a lot more bubbly than he ever intended. As if his reputation couldn’t have been more destroyed. 

As if that mattered right now…All he could think about was how to best recover from the biggest tickle attack he’d gotten in ages…

“aAHA!” SMG3 jumped and fell onto his back, grabbing his side. “Shihit…” He muttered. 

“S-Sorry…” He heard Tari say. 

SMG3 smiled a bit. “I-It’s okay. I’m alright.” SMG3 replied. 

“You sure?” Tari clarified. 

SMG3 nodded his head. “Yup, I’m sure.”

Tari smiled a bit more and looked at Eggdog. “Okay. Go!” She told him. 

SMG3 jumped and laughed a bit. “aAh- HAHA!” SMG3 pushed Eggdog’s face away for a moment. “Hohold on, boy.” SMG3 reached into his pocket and took out the graham crackers. “There you go.” SMG3 fed him the treats. When, he took his time fishing out the graham crackers from his other pockets. “There we go.” Lastly, SMG3 handed Eggdog the hat. “Go play.” SMG3 told him, letting Eggdog walk away with the hat on its head. 

“I’m…I’m sorry.” Tari told him. 

SMG3 shrugged his shoulders. “It’s alright. I should’ve known what would happen if I brought it up.” SMG3 replied. “But on that note…” SMG3 pointed at Tari. “Don’t mention this to anyone, alright?” SMG3 warned. “Especially…” SMG3 pointed to his ear. “This.” 

“Alright.” Tari nodded her head. “But counter offer:” Tari offered. 

“C-Counter offer?” SMG3 reacted. 

“I will keep your secret on one condition:” Tari told him. 

SMG3 tensed up slightly, nervous about what it would be. “And…that is?” He asked. 

“I get a turn.” Tari replied quite eagerly. 

SMG3 blinked in surprise. “U-Uh…I’m sorry, what?” He asked, letting out an awkward laugh. He wasn’t really sure how to react. 

Tari giggled. “Let me explain this in a way you’ll understand.” She stretched out her arms in front of her, before pointing up to a text box above their head. 

[I receive: 10 seconds of tickly cuteness] 

SMG3 widened his eyes as a blush filled his cheeks. 

She smiled and pointed to the next text box. 

[You receive: A saved reputation] 

SMG3’s nervousness softened a little bit. He began to bite his lip vigorously as he thought it over. 10 seconds of…that…in exchange for a horrible secret forever kept safe? That…isn’t a bad trade, actually. 

SMG3 let out a breath and smiled slightly. “Okay. Deal.” SMG3 reached his hand out. Tari smiled eagerly as she shook his hand. 

With the deal decided, Tari let go of SMG3’s hand and walked up to the door. “Just gonna…” Tari flipped the lock on the door. Then, she walked up to the windows and made sure to close the blinds. 

SMG3 smiled a little more. Tari was being…super considerate, all things considered. 

“There we go.” With that done, Tari turned to SMG3. “You ready?” She asked. 

SMG3 chuckled and scratched the back of his head. “Ahas ready as I’ll ever be…” 

With that, Tari brought her fingers up to his ear. “Now: the timer doesn’t start…Until I touch down.” She told him. 

SMG3 looked nervous…but not in a mortified way like last time…it was more in a giddy, antsy way this time. “Okayokayokayfine, justdoit.” SMG3 mumbled. 

Tari smirked a bit. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t understand you. What was that?” Tari asked, wiggling her fingers dangerously close to his ear. 

“OhnononoTARI!” SMG3 squeaked and curled his neck in. 

Tari was giggling a little more now. “Ihi’m not even touching you!” She told him. “Is it really that bad?!” She asked.

“Yesyes-Itis-!” SMG3 finally squeaked as her fingers finally touched down. “HAhahaha- TarihiHIHI!” SMG3 instinctively backed himself away. 

“Hmmm…” She grabbed both sides of his belly. “How about here?” 

SMG3 gasped and doubled over. “NOHAHA! HAHAHAhahaha!” He pushed her hands, but didn’t do much else to stop her. He had made a trade with her, and he was currently fulfilling his part of the deal. But oh my god, it was a struggle! And the man was only 3 seconds in! 

“And what about here?” She asked, going for his hips next. 

“NOHOHOHAHAHAHA!” 

“That bad, huh?!” She asked rhetorically. “Now one more thing:” She put him onto the floor and tickled his ear again. “More ear tickles!” She declared. 

SMG3 squeezed his eyes shut as he squealed. “eEEEHEHEEK! *snort* HAHAhahahAHAHA!” 

“Alright. All done.” She brought her hands back. “10 seconds are over.” She told him. 

Thankfully, this second recovery was a lot easier than the first. He wiped away his tears from earlier, and got himself up. It felt much better being able to pull himself together so quickly. Which was really good in this instance, because…SMG4 doesn’t really know how to knock on doors sometimes. 

“Three?” SMG4 called. “Oh, hey Tari.” 

Tari smiled. “Hi SMG4.” She greeted. 

“What’s up?” SMG3 asked. 

“Uh…Nothing important. What were you laughing about?” SMG4 asked. 

SMG3 blinked. Shit…Shit shit shit…He didn’t have an excuse ready yet! What should he say?! 

“Oh! You just missed it, SMG4!” Tari suddenly started. 

SMG3 looked at Tari. WHAT IS SHE DOING?! WE HAD A DEAL! 

“Missed what?” SMG4 asked. 

SMG3 did all he could to not tense himself anymore than he already had been. Here comes the moment of truth…

“SMG3 was showing me all of Eggdog’s tricks!” Tari told him. 

SMG3 bit his lip, and very hesitantly went along with her words. “Y-Yeah.” SMG3 somewhat mumbled. 

“And oh my gosh…” Tari laughed out loud. “SMG3 was getting Eggdog to catch his hat like a frisbee!” Tari looked at the table. “And Eggdog literally slid himself across the table, and fell on the other side!” Tari bursted out laughing. 

SMG3 widened his eyes slightly. His shoulders had never relaxed so quickly in his life. She wasn’t breaking their deal. She was lying! And lying very convincingly, might I add! 

Quickly, SMG3 put his visual imagination to work and recreated the fake moment in his head. And by some miracle hidden within him…just playing the imaginary moment in his head had been enough to make him burst out with hysterical laughter all over again. 

And the almost-scary part was…this fit of laughter sounded almost exactly like the ticklish laughter from earlier! “Oho my god, it was so funny! Gohod, just thinking about it-” SMG3 wheezed and doubled over, cackling all over again. 

Tari had even bursted out laughing alongside him! To say she was impressed, was a huge understatement. This wasn’t even fake laughter either. It was completely genuine! 

“His freaking body just went-” SMG3 blew a quick raspberry with his tongue before hanging his head with laughter all over again. As it would turn out, SMG3 was secretly really good at making up stories in his head. And right now, it was a god-sent gift. It also helped that Eggdog was currently playing with SMG3’s hat on the other side of that very table. 

SMG3 finally started to calm himself down, wiping a tear from his eye. “I really wish I had my camera out.” He admitted. “Ihit was great.” 

SMG4 visibly smiled. “Awww, that’s sweet.” He grabbed the door. “You should laugh more often, Three. I don’t get to hear it very much these days.” SMG4 told him before closing the door. 

SMG3 widened his eyes as the god-forsaken blush had returned to his face. But…his blush seemed to lessen slightly when he saw Tari’s thumbs up. He smiled a slight bit in response. 

She saved him…She saved his reputation. And as much as he was embarrassed…He was grateful. His villainous esteem is around for another day thanks to her. And though this was SMG4 he was talking to…It was still a nice gesture. Maybe…Tari was the best person to have found out.
