Iconic himbo squad off to defeat the world's bitchiest vampire. Each of them has their own personal reason to journey and varying skills to bring to the family.

Bucci Gang:

Well all of them were outed by their family or ✨society ✨. Narancia was falsely accused of a crime, went to juvenile because of it, his father never showed any love, disowned, and he got a horrible eye disease. Well Bucci found him in the streets, took him to a proper doctor, and got his eye cured. Abbacchio was a cop that wanted to be completely pure and guided himself by justice. But the city he worked in was very corrupt, so one day he decided to take a bribe. Well the criminal who gave him the bribe was later found guilty of killing 2 people and told about how Abbacchio took a bribe from him. Abbacchio was seen as a dirty cop and was unemployed. He turned to alcohol and usually wandered the streets. Well Bucci found him, and helped him become better. Abbacchio joined his gang too. Fugo was a perfect son. He was extremely gifted and was born into a rich family. Now this may seem like the dream but his parents never showed him love. He was only treasured because of his intelligence. He was so smart, he was able to go to college at 13. Well while he was there, his professor repeatedly SA him. One day, his professor came to him, and Fugo beat the man with a encyclopedia in an act of self defense. He was disowned by his parents and lived in streets for 2 years. Bucci found him, and let him join his gang. Trish is the daughter of the most powerful mafia boss in Italy. Because of this, she was hunted down by her father and La Squada( they’re a group of gangsters that want to take down such boss). Her father hunted her down because he wanted to killed her to keep his identity a secret. Well Bucci gang protected her and is a part of it. Mista was a regular dude. Always had an optimistic look on life. So one day, he saw a woman almost getting r@ped in a car and decided to shoot the r@pists. Well in court, he was ruled a murderer and not an act of self defense. Bucci got him out and he joined his gang. Lastly, Giorno was a gangster that wanted to eradicate drugs being sold to minors. So he joined the Bucci gang. Giorno was neglected by his mother as a child and was beaten by his step dad. Bucci himself was never really loved by his father. Now the Bucci gang is essentially just Bucci trying to take care of some confused teenagers and a gothic depressed man.

I could go on for a long time, but they were all somehow rejected by society for mental health issues, classism, abuse, and saw each other's worth.

The Charmingman backstory made me unreasonably sad, I legit hope poor Mauka is okay and can be reunited with his brother 💔

There's definitely a reoccurring theme of police negligence and possible discrimination (I feel like maybe Charmingman and Mauka are Native Hawaiians but I'm not confident) which I'm cautiously interested in as well

I am also salivating at the potential parallels with the Joestar brothers too and of Charmingman bonding with Jodio like a little brother 🥺 also please bring back Wild Cat Size please I need more ally animal stand users

Spider Crew:

they've all lost everything and found each other. They're from an Isekai story where a gaggle of characters including White, Sophia, and Wrath were reincarnated into a fantasy world. (SPOILERS ahead if you've seen the anime these scenes have not been adapted from the books yet!) I won't make you hear the entire synopsis but I think the most telling thing is when they were marching into war with a planned high casualty rate Ariel asked White (who didn't have a name before Ariel started calling her White!!) what their chances were of winning and she said 50% then she asked her the chances of everyone living and White knew she meant their inner circle and internally listed the others I mentioned above and first thought it was very slim and then said 100% and made sure that was true. White was entirely alone and "liked it that way" before incidentally grouping up with the others listed above and now she cares about them so much. The world is ending and she needs to use every bit of magic energy she can to fix it but still offered to expend some of that to send the other reincarnations back to Earth and didn't extend it to the other reincarnations! Its no small thing! But she'll take the risk and sacrifice it for them! Ariel first said she was only protecting Sophia and Merazophis because she thought it would get her on White's good side but that's definitely not all there is to it anymore!

Also who doesn't love a found family that includes elements of previously attempting to kill each other (White vs Ariel and later the group vs Wrath)

I know the submissions post said some people can be related but let me be clear: technically Ariel is White's grandmother. I wanted to include the puppet sisters as well (Ael, Sael, Riel, and Fiel) but they're Ariel's children and that would make the group 6 related and 3 not and it felt too imbalanced then. You don't get much of a "familial bond" impression off of White and Ariel when they first meet or until book 7 whereas the puppets feel like Ariel's children the way they look up to her and she definitely mothers them. And ironically they feel more like White's nieces rather than her aunts lol

Unfortunately they become a fam in the books only after where the anime currently leaves off so there's very little official art of most of them and none including Wrath who didn't join the group until Volume 9 I think? (and the anime stops at the end of book 6 right before the other 4 group up ;n;) but I found some things :p

1. What's their love language?

Caesar's definitely a guy that expresses his love through words – though, mostly in a flowery, stereotypically romantic way that Joseph wouldn't be that pleased with. Dude comes from like the 1500s with how he approaches romance. I wouldn't be surprised if he writes poems and sings them to Joseph.

Joseph's definitely shows his love through actions. I feel that he'd be quite selfish, but would happily give stuff up for others if he cared about them enough. He also probably rants about things with people he cares about. Caesar would end up knowing a bunch of stuff he wouldn't know otherwise (and probably some stuff he wished he never knew, knowing the sort of person Joseph is. Anyways do you know that most reptiles have two–)

7. Who is the more romantic one?

Hmmm...neither? With Caesar he's too romantic to the point it wraps around to feeling forced and fake, he definitely hasn't been in any proper relationships, only hookups so he definitely doesn't know what to do outside of that fake front. And well. Joseph is Joseph and doesn't really care about being romantic. I feel like he'd try his best to be romantic (waking up earlier than Caesar to cook him breakfast and such, despite Not Being Able To Cook) but he'd be so cringefail flop about it that it just wouldn't be romantic. It'd be romantic to ME, but I am aware enough to know that most people don't have a thing for pathetic insane sopping wet men so (god I'm speaking like I'm not even aroace huh)

8. Do they have any favourite activities to do together?

Divorce

I think that they'd still enjoy sparring together. As a person who beats the shit out of one of my friends specifically frequently and vice versa, I can confirm that it's very enjoyable to do with a friend! Idk if the whole romantic aspect would ruin that though. I also think they'd enjoy going out on nature walks and such, and appreciate nature. They'd definitely take it slow and savour their moments together. Seeing that they both nearly died against the Pillar Men, I feel that they'd gain a new appreciation for life, and a new appreciation for each other's presence.

15. Do they go on vacations together? Where is their favourite place to visit?

Ohhh they'd definitely go to Italy for holidays (there's no way Joseph would stay there all year round he is British. Way too hot for him. He prefers cold places). They'd visit Air Supplena Island too. Nobody uses it anymore, but it's still nostalgic to them. I think it'd be a yearly thing for them, maybe they go on the anniversary of them getting together?

16. What's their favourite "domestic bliss" moment? Do they cook/clean together? Do they like to go out shopping together?

Their favourite domestic bliss moment would definitely just be Existing Together. Maybe they're just chilling on the sofa watching TV, or cuddling up in bed together ready to go to sleep. Maybe Joseph's done some completely stupid thing and made a mess/hurt himself and they have to deal with the aftermath. Whatever it is, they really enjoy doing mundane, normal things with each other. It's much better than the whole thing they had going on with the threat of the Pillar Men looming over them. They just really love and appreciate mundane things people would gloss over after All That.

They do not cook together, because Caesar is not letting that pathetic excuse of a man into the kitchen. Maybe I'm biased because I don't like 99% of British cuisine (beans on toast is pretty good though. the eels too tbh) but Joseph would not be able to make a good meal. That mf would season with salt and pepper and leave it at that. Where's the garlic??? The onions???? This man will be the death of me (and Caesar, if he wasn't smart enough to not let Joseph cook).

They don't like to go shopping together. They definitely argue about what to get. They argue about a lot of things it's a wonder they're still together. I think they should get divorced. Though, if Joseph wants to go shopping on his own, Caesar usually convices him to let him go along as well. This is because Joseph will definitely buy a ton of stuff on impulse, because having ADHD does that to a guy. He's gotta have a wall to stop him from doing things on impulse or he's gonna like come back from IKEA with a million plushies and Swedish sweets and no furniture because he Forgot

22. How do they apologise after arguments?

Really, it depends on the argument. Little spats they can get over quite quickly. It's pretty much banter to them by this point. With bigger arguments, I think they'd end up apologising formally and then going about their day like nothing happened. Or, in other cases, try to get the last point in when they think it's simmered down enough and start it all back up again (that doesn't sound like a healthy relationship! How about they do themselves a favour and get divorced). And then there's the Massive arguments. Usually they'll try to make it back to the other, usually using the other person's love language. Joseph would tell Caesar how much he loves him and that the argument hasn't changed his feelings at all and that Caesar's the most important person in the world to him. Caesar might try make a little trinket or item (can you imagine him doing origami or clay sculpting. He'd be so cringeflop about it, spent all his time on the streets, hamon training or performing The Intercourse on women to practice doing stuff like that. Thinking about this does Caesar have an STD??? I feel that he might he doesn't seem like the type of guy to use protection. God I'm getting off track) to give to Joseph, or he might prompt Joseph to talk about the things he enjoys talking about. Though, seeing that Joseph has ADHD because I Decided This, Araki Make It Canon You Bastard, and ADHD can be A Massive Bitch, I wouldn't be surprised if Joseph got really upset sometimes over them. Like to the point he wouldn't bother to try make amends because he'd think it's pointless because This One is Definitely The Argument to End It All And God I've Ruined Our Relationship Forever. Maybe he wouldn't have this problem if they were both divorced. However that feeling of absolutely destroying the relationship would probably be exacerbated by the whole argument that happened before the Whammu fight so Yeah. Joseph's so cringeflop I need his head in my mouth

ANYWAYS I am falling off track once more, in those instances I think that Caesar would simply go and sit next to Joseph, and hug him if it was possible in that position. Just sorta remind him that it isn't his fault because Caesar is as much in the wrong as Joseph is, and that they have quite literally been through worse before and that they'll get through this argument easily. They'd watch a film or something afterwards, pretty much anything as long as it's something they're doing together. It's absolutely ridiculous how much they argue but at least in the end they can get over it like functional adults

28. What's something that reminds them of their partner(s)? Do they have anything on them daily as a reminder (a photo, phone background, tattoo, clothing, accessory, etc.)?

I am going to bend canon a lil and say that Joseph still has the headband Caesar gave him before his presumed death (let's just go along and assume that he got badly hurt and maybe got hit by a lil rubble instead of the big rock) and that he keeps it in his pocket or smth at all times. If Joseph's upset/stressed and Caesar isn't there for whatever reason he'll take the headband out of his pocket and start fiddling with it, weaving it around his fingers and the sorts.

For Caesar, he'd keep a really bad drawing Joseph did with him. He'd fold it up and put it in his wallet or smth like that. For the drawing itself, they would've gone to an art museum or the likes, and Joseph would've tried to make a work of art himself, claiming that "It's not that hard, you don't need a museum for art", only to produce the Worst Piece of Art To Exist. Joseph would want to throw it away – even if he did spend hours working on it – but Caesar refused to get rid of it. Sure, it's not as good as the art in museums, but it had heart and soul and meaning put into it, and it touched Caesar's heart, so it's more special and important to him than any painting made by a famous artist.

Ok so there's this guy called Jonathan Joestar and he gets an adoptive brother named Dio Brando. Dio hates Jonathan with an intensity that really isn't justified but it likely has something to do with Jonathan being a rich kid and Dio growing up poor. Anyway Dio happens upon an ancient stone mask that turns people into vampires and he becomes a vampire. Dio tries to kill Jonathan after murdering their dad and burning down their mansion. Dio decides he's way too good for all this and that he's gonna use his new vampire powers to take over the world, so Jonathan learns sun magic from a random guy with a top hat so he can defeat Dio and save the world. Jonathan eventually wins but Dio's decapitated head survives and kills Jonathan on a boat.

Before Jonathan died though he did have kids and his grandson is the second protagonist: Joseph Joestar. Joseph fights a group of Super vampires known as the Pillar Men. That all doesn't really affect the overarching plot in any major way though.

What's important is that Joseph's grandson is the third protagonist: Jotaro Kujo. Jotaro's life is flip turned upside down when Dio returns, his decapitated head having taken over Jonathan's body and hibernated under the ocean for a few hundred years. Dio has learned about these magic ghost powers named Stands and in doing so has awakened the dormant potential to use Stands in most of Jonathan's descendants, including Jotaro, but it inadvertently threatens the life of his mom, so Jotaro has 50 days to travel from Japan to Egypt (where Dio is hanging out) so he can give that vampiric asshole a smacking, saving his mom and the world.

The rest of the JoJo parts are largely about other descendants of the Joestar clan fighting villains who were in some way caused by Dio's nonsense, including Josuke who has to solve a murder mystery in a small Japanese town, Giorno who wants to become the head of the Italian mafia, and Jolyne who wants to escape from prison and protect her family from one of Dio's servants. There's also three later parts set in an alternate universe that are mostly disconnected from the original Dio stuff.

JoJo arcs all largely contain a lot of "Stand battles", where all the characters involved have an extremely specific superpower and they have to use strategy and cunning to utilize their powers in creative ways to defeat their opponent.

after awhile, he cleared his throat, causing you to look up at him with confusion. “i.. have something i wish to tell you.” he spoke up, he sounded nervous, you had never heard him sound like that before. you perked up, signalling for him to continue. “i have feelings for you, (name). and i hope you’d accept them” you could feel your cheeks heat up, which caused his to do the same.

you nodded, “i do, jojo!” he grinned, a sigh escaping him as relief washed over his entire body. he placed his hand atop of yours, as you both gave eachother an adoring look

“it’s because i love you, (name)! and i know you can’t resist me” he grinned, his usual stupid grin. you looked back over at him. it seemed he was waiting for you to say something to him, instead you placed a small kiss on his cheek. that seemed to finally shut him up

very rare to hear more than a few words with him, let alone hear what he FEELS

you sat on the hotel bed, reading a cheap magazine you found in one of the drawers in the bedside table. you were sharing a room with jotaro, you only really shared with him or kakyoin, since you three were the only teenagers with the group. jotaro had just gotten back from being in the bathroom, he sat on the bed to your right.

“(name).” he spoke, his voice soft, yet still with the usual firmness that usually has a grasp over him. you looked over to him, closing the magazine over and placing it beside you on the bed. “yes, jotaro?” he paused, the air seemed different. not the usual feeling you had while rooming with him.

“you’re.. not awful.” his voice was now that of a mumble, as he used the brim of his hat to cover his face. at first you were confused, until it hit you, he was trying to tell you how he felt about you. he just couldn’t get the right words out of his mouth

“you must, you’re the only person i’d want to spend this kind of money on, so please. let me buy you things from now on” he gave a small, meaningful smile towards you, which only made you smile. you took the necklace out of the box, placing it around your neck. “you look stunning, mí amore”

she grinned, standing up from the bed and heading towards her cd collection. she picked one up, then placed it into the cd player. it took a few seconds for the song to boot up but once it began she then hurried back over to sit beside you in her bed. “what song is it?” you asked, she only grinned at you. “you’ll see”

as the song began to play, it seemed like something jolyne never would’ve usually listened to. you began to recognise the song as time went on, ‘this kiss, by faith hill’ as you began to wonder why she picked this song, she spoke up. “this song, reminds me of us..” her face was slightly red as she spoke

How Hand Jumper Treats Gender

Most of the manga/manhwa I read default to the male gaze. I don't even mean that the female characters are needlessly sexualized, which they often are, but that they're only allowed to fill certain roles. Holy figures and healers are (young, impossibly beautiful) women, the tragic, innocent character who gets assaulted is a woman, the skimpily dressed ninja is a woman, the pure, younger sibling that needs protection is a woman, the seductive villain is a woman, the extremely powerful fighter that will nonetheless always be second in strength to the male lead is a woman. Upskirt shots and carefully framed ass/boobs panels abound. Their characterization can be shallow: especially in action and thriller series, the motivations of female characters are rarely given the same consideration that male characters receive.

Hand Jumper is different. First, female characters are taken just as seriously as male ones, in every way possible. Second, a character's gender does not influence their power level. While it's true that cis men are physically stronger than cis women in the real world, "men are always stronger than women" does not make sense in fantasy action contexts. Why are all the most powerful heroes in My Hero Academia men? Why must all the notable healers in Naruto be female ninja? In worlds where people possess honest to God magical superpowers, power is totally divorced from the density of your muscles. This is true of Hand Jumper's world as well, so it treats its characters appropriately: Male and female Aberrants fight on equal ground. As a result, some of the most prestigious Aberrant positions are held by women: Samin is the leader of the Crimson Society, Cell 4's instructor and mentor are both women, and Sayeon's mother Sara is so mysterious and so powerful that she seems close to godly. Sara's treatment is especially interesting, given that she's filling a role usually reserved for men: the mysterious, legendary parent of the protagonist who left their life when they were still a child. Think Gon's father in HxH, Baki's father in Grappler Baki, Naruto's father, the Joestars in JoJo, or Luffy's father in One Piece. In Hj, it's not the mother, but the father who is drowned out in the shadow cast by his spouse.

Personalities, fantasy power levels, and interests are not inherently gendered! So Hand Jumper doesn't treat them as gendered either. The bubbly, cheerful member of the main group is usually a girl, but this time it's Iseul Kim. The pretty, androgynous Min is both a deadly weapon and a baker of cute pastries- he picks up Sayeon in a bridal carry after a fight, and incredibly, it's not framed as a romantic gesture. Lastly, the aggressive, jaded rival to the protagonist is usually male, but this time it's Ryujin Kang. This position being filled by a female character is so unusual that I remember the comments section being filled with people mistaking Ryujin for a boy, even though she was clearly presented as a woman from the start. Part of this confusion is probably fueled by how Ryujin has a lot of… tension with Sayeon, tension usually found in heterosexual enemy-to-lover relationships. And Sayeon herself? She's on a crusade to avenge her childhood friend, a damsel in distress who died in Episode 2. Somehow, in Hand Jumper, the tragic dead lover that needs avenging is a man.

I see you got Jojo's Bizarre Adventure on the request list. What about this concept: yandere part 3!Dio with a darling who is a Joestar(perhaps Jotaro's relative of some sort), that came to Egypt with the rest of Stardust Crusaders to kill him. Romantic please!

I made the pairing more platonic because while I love writing romantic Dio... but he is technically part of the Joestar family due to Jonathan in part 3? His intentions are ambiguous but I made the pairing platonic, I'm sorry :(

Dio with a Joestar! Darling opens up idea that I adore.

He's dedicated his life to eliminating Jonathan's bloodline.

Since stealing Jonathan's body he can sense his descendents.

So obviously he knows of Joseph, he knows of Jotaro...

He knows of you.

He obviously keeps an eye on the whole group.

You're the older sibling of Jotaro, much more behaved than the younger Kujo... in terms of not getting thrown into jail 24/7.

You have developed a stand like every Joestar after Dio inflicted himself with an arrow.

As a result you join the Crusaders to help save you and Jotaro's mother, Holly.

Dio fully expects to kill you along with the rest.

However, as you go through trial after trial... stand user after stand user... Dio finds himself getting more and more interested.

An obsession with you makes the vampire conflicted.

After all... he's meant to kill you.

He wants to kill Joseph and Jotaro, but why not you?

You obviously want him dead... but he keeps thinking of others plans for you.

The obsession he has for you makes the vampire irritated.

He isn't quite sure why he's so fond of you... this isn't like him.

He may even blame it on Jonathan somehow.

He thinks he doesn't have to kill you... maybe he can just toy with you?

Kill your friends and family in front of you... trap you with him... control you....

Such thoughts are much more appealing to him than outright killing you.

He often sends minions to watch your progress.

He orders them to tell him all about you, learning about you eagerly like some research project.

I personally think the feelings he has towards you are more akin to something familial if you're a Joestar.

He blames it on Jonathan's blood making him go all soft towards you.

For one reason or another Dio wants to keep you while getting rid of the rest.

His intentions no doubt are to make you some sort of servant.

Yet at the same time he can't help but feel a certain fondness that makes him want to care for you.

Care for you?

He's a hypocrite... but he always has been, hasn’t he?

Eventually Dio may cave into his odd obsession.

You don't leave his mind and he can't quite take it anymore.

Eventually he'll kidnap you.

It may be before his big battle, it may be after.

Dio intends to win and isolate you.

Hopefully that's enough to soothe his soft fondness towards you.

When Dio eventually encounters you he makes his intentions clear.

He's going to kill your friends... he's going to kill your grandfather... he's going to kill your brother...

But he won't kill you.

Your loved ones perishing in front of you should be enough of a punishment, yeah?

Dio can't help but feel attached as his eyes land on you.

A Joestar... but one he wants to spare.

You're an enigma to him.

An enigma he plans to keep to himself.

Far as he knows he's succeeded in his goals by killing everyone but you.

You may have a stand but you're not as powerful as him.

Especially when he has the Joestar blood from Joseph and Jotaro in his veins now.

You're completely powerless against him.

He can pull you into his lap and treat you well... you'll be the perfect pet for him to play with.

He wants to be cruel to you... but part of him wants to be comforting.

Unable to push his fondness towards you away... he reluctantly embraces it...

He embraces you.

Even as you squirm... he doesn't let go.

You're his now... all his...

Reluctantly... yet also because he feels he has to... he cares for you as though you were a sibling he never had... or had lost long ago.
