here's my full Trigun & Trigun-adjacent CD collection as of now:

First we have AKIMA & NEOS, the group that performed "Kaze wa Mirai ni Fuku", the ED theme of the 1998 anime, and the original version of "Sound Life". L-R: Kaze Wa Mirai Ni Fuku single (on miniCD!), Akima & Neos (which has the original version of "Sound Life"), and No Moon,No Sun (nothing Trigun-related on that, I just liked their music and wanted to get their other CD haha)

The rest is all Tsuneo Imahori, with the Trigun soundtracks as seen in my previous post as well as my Gungrave soundtrack collection: The TV anime soundtracks, O.S.T. uno "righthead" and O.S.T. 2 "lefthead", both being the Geneon English releases. below them are well... not official. First is the Gungrave PS2 soundtrack, which I purchased assuming it was the official release but turned out to be a convincing bootleg that fooled me--it turns out there's quite a large bootleg Japanese anime/game ost CD industry. welp, now I know.....and then beside that is one I very obviously made myself--a burned CD of the Gungrave Overdose PS2 soundtrack as that one never had an official release. I came across the ripped MP3s many many many years ago on some forgotten forum thread many many many pages deep in a desperate google search to find the game's music back when I was in high school. I uploaded them all on my youtube channel and 12 years later it seems my upload is STILL the only one....

I had such a fixation on Gungrave Overdose back then which really drove my determination to both find, save, and share that soundtrack. I don't want it to get lost!!!!

Anywaysssss here's a list of things I hope to someday add to the Trigun & Trigun-adjacent CD collection:

some of Scoobie Do (band that performed Gungrave anime's ED theme "When the Sunset Turns Red", found a lot of their music online back in high school and really liked them haha)'s albums--mainly Beautiful Days

――後半から打点が変則的なシンコペーションになる「構造Ⅳ（寺院と天国の構造）」はいかがでしょう。 菊地：この曲は4拍子で「構造Ⅰ」と考え方が全く異なります。この「変な打点だけど、よく聴けば4拍子」というのも、やがて一般化すると思ってました。これも今ならメタルやジャズのカテゴリで当たり前ですが、当時は世界的に見ても取り入れている曲は少なかったですね。 　4拍子だと理解できれば踊れますが、打点が色々なので最初はカウントがつんのめってしまうと思います。単なるシンコペーションの登場に始まり、新しいリズムの登場は歴史的に違和感を伴いますが、だんだんと気持ちよくなり、普通になるものなんですよ。僕が目指していたのは、例えばインド音楽やTipographicaの方向性ではなく、フロアが新しい気持ちよさで踊ってくれること、オルタナティブなグルーヴの追求だったんです。

Mitsuru Nasuno (el-bass,devices) In the late 1990s, Nasuno formed "Altered States" with Uchihashi Kazuhisa and Yoshigaki Yasuhiro, which made an impact on the improvisation scene. In 2015, he joined "Half the Sky", a new project by Chris Cutler, formerly of Henry Cow, and others. (ex-Henry Cow) in 2015. Since 2016, he has been leading the dark rock unit "MUGAMICHILL/Mugamichill" with the trio of Tatsuya Nakamura (ex Blankie Jet City) and Koji Nakamura (ex Supercar). In September 2022, they produced and released their first 4-album set under the name "MUGAMICHILL/Mugamichill" through crowdfunding. In February 2023, he released his latest solo work "Life. The potential and presence of his electric bass in improvisation is unrivaled. --- Ryosuke Kiyasu (ds) Ryosuke Kiyasu is known as a drummer in the leader bands "SETE STAR SEPT" and "Kiyasu Orchestra" and as a drummer of Keiji Haino's "Lost Person" since 2012. He is well known for his snare drum solos.

Formed "Tipographica" in 1986. He established a composition method of putting "accents and fluctuations" on the groove. In the current "unbeltipo," he invented "elastic rhythm," which enables modulation of tempo and bar lines, and is still cultivating it. Since 2009, he has been expanding his unit with Akira Toyama and Shinpei Ryoke in search of more "unheard sounds. He has also worked as a duo and band member with Ogawa Michio, Ota Keishi, Amada Toru, etc. He has supported Yosui Inoue, Yoko Kanno's works, and Taku Iwasaki's works. As a composer, he is involved in CM, animation, drama, film music, and stage music. ---

Date Course Pentagon Royal Garden - Report From Iron Mountain - 2001 LP just reissued, and HOLY CRAP what a ripping take on Electric Miles style!

Date Course Pentagon Royal Garden is a Japanese underground free jazz/improv/rock-in-opposition/fusion/avant-prog supergroup, formed in 1999 by Naruyoshi Kikuchi after Tipographica break-up. He invited Yoshihide, Tsugami and Yoshigaki from Otomo Yoshihide's New Jazz Quintet, soon after expanding the line-up of DCPRG to 11+ people, including members of Kuricorder Quartet, Rovo, Asteroid Desert Songs and many others. The band debuted in 2001 with two albums on P-Vine Records: split record with Rovo and full-length debut Report From Iron Mountain, sometimes compared by critics to Miles Davis' Bitches Brew.

・ゲーム HaxBallをした。配偶者あがさんきゅういさんことはねさんきゃるすさんいすさん。

なんかPCの無線受信状況が死ぬほど悪く、ワープしまくるので「やってられるか～～～～い！！！！！」と叫んでいた。 自分で部屋たててみんなに入ってもらったら、みんなの方がワープしまくって、こちらはスルスル動いてすごい優越感があった。でも負けた。HaxBall難しすぎる。そのうちみんなの方が「やってられるか～～～～い！！！！！」となっていて面白かった。 さすがに見かねた配偶者ことパソコンはかせがやってきて、なんかポチポチしてくれた。設定がなんかでなんかだったので、なんかじゃなくしたらいい感じになったっぽい。その前にUSB差し込み口変えたのも効いたかもかも。なんかバグってるところがいくつかあった記憶があったので。結果良い感じになった。

LoLやりやすくなったらいいな～。あれもワープしてたので。

・漫画 むぬもさんとんぽぬくんがあと数ページで読み終わりそう。 お話が動いてきた。取水塔に近い感覚がある。あ、今から読めば読み終わるじゃん……。

・音楽 SPANK HAPPYの第一期、あんまりちゃんと聴いてなかったんですけど、聴いてみたら好きな曲がいくつか見つかった。『僕は楽器』という曲が特に泣けるかんじでナイス。細かく動きまわる音たちの上に、まっすぐ伸びるボーカルが乗っていて、絶妙なバランス感になってるところも好き。頭のところでSteve ReichさんのDifferent Trainsみたいな音が入っているのもかっこいい。ジョイサウンドさんのカラオケに入っているらしいので、こんど歌ってみようと思った。

Tipographicaとどっちが先に活動していたんだろうと思って調べてみたら、平行していた時期がけっこうあるっぽい。Tipographicaさんの方が結成は先だけれど、活動終了はどちらも同じくらいっぽい。へ～。

ライヒのDifferent Trainsといえば、2008年にNHKで放送したやつがめっちゃいい（というかわかりやすい）ので、何かしらの方法で販売なりしてほしいな～と思っている。

最近あんまり現代音楽掘ってないので、皆様のオススメをお待ちしております。 そういえばインターネットでヤニス・クセナキスさんの『Xas』の楽譜が送料込みで3500円くらいで手に入った（そして余りの難易度にすぐ諦めた）と言っている人を見た。だからどうというわけでもないのだけれど、現代音楽ってやっぱりちゃんと楽譜ありきなのが面白いな～と思う。というかすごいな～……と思う。専門教育をガンガン受けた高知能マンたちによる様々な実験を見られると思うと、いいな～となる。

・食 犬さんにいただいたじゃがポックルがそろそろ無くなりそう。もらってから毎日カルビーと北の大地に感謝して生きている。これからはジャガビーでなんとなく舌をごまかす日々が続くんだろうか……。おいしいなあほんとうにじゃがポックルは。上品な味だなあ。
