Trying a new gin from Oola Distillery here in Seattle. Later, I'm going to finish Ken Burns's "Prohibition" on PBS. I did not realize before — although it entirely tracks 100% — how Seattle was basically like, "naa fuck all that bs" with the 18th Amendment. They just kept on brewing, distilling, fermenting whatever and police chief said cool whatever. Most Seattle ass shit ever.

Interesting unrelated fact. One of the owners of my local liquor store back in San Antonio was good friends with Tito Beveridge, of Tito's Vodka. I'd often stop in and chat with her a bit, and we got talking about Tito's (I think I had just missed him in the store that afternoon). If you've ever noticed, Tito's comes in bottles with a somewhat goofy, familiar plastic screw top. (This Oola gin has the same top, hence the point of telling this story.) Well, back in the 90's when Tito started the company, to save money or whatever, he bought a bottling machine from a Coca-Cola bottler. It obviously worked well for bottling vodka, but somewhere in the process they painted the caps that goldish orange color. Guess it caught on. They still have the same caps; however, I imagine they've got a bigger operation going on since Tito's is just about goddamn everywhere now.

Anyhow, that's my Tito's story.

fun bar experience btw i had al ike. normal beer? and then an ipa and then i was like huh maybe i just dont like beer so i got screwdrivers and that was what i was drinking when my manager got herevand she bought me a screwdriver because she saw that adn then people just kept getting me screwdrivers. i didnt even drinl anything besides the beers i dont make and put better alcohol in at home
