#wow. i just tried to make a very simple image edit#and i was so utterly incapable of getting any image editing app to do ANYTHING i wanted that it put me into a blind fury#like i literally had to get up and walk away and make a cup of tea so i wouldn't throw my laptop against the wall#it's very rare that i discover something i am SO bad at that it causes me this much frustration#i guess it's good to be reminded of this feeling now and then#probably many of the things that are easy for me feel this way to other people#whether it's something i'm really good at like language-related stuff#or something i suck at but only find mildly annoying like math#or something i'm mid at but still find interesting and enjoyably challenging like programming#there's probably some folks out there who feel about it the same way i feel about image editing#like frustrated almost to the point of tears and genuinely ready to stab someone in the chest out of sheer anger#and legit all i wanted to do was make part of an image transparent and overlay it on another image#that would then show through in the transparent part of the top layer :')#this is probably so easy for some of y'all. i am very humbled :(#anyway it's interesting that most types of apps – no matter what they're for – are immediately intuitive to me#whether it's an app for language-learning; coding; writing; reading; music; you name it. it tends to make sense to me#i don't know if the apps i have for images (firealpaca and sketchbook) are just particularly badly designed#or if it's normal and traditional for art app ideas of 'intuitive' to be very different from those of most other apps#(and like... i have done a lil bit of digital art before! i've worked with layers and all that! and i STILL find it this mystifying!)#cosmo gyres#anyway. just venting. please ignore

Trans Teacher Needs Their Tits Chopped Off, Help Wanted
Greetings all! It’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it?
I have returned from the void of full time assistant language teaching to make a desperate plea:
Help me pay for my top surgery!!
Tumblr media
https://gofund.me/d9ee4091
In Thailand??
(Turns out when you live in Japan, gender reassignment surgery in Thailand is more realistic than going back home to the US with friends and family. What can I say we live in a society.)
For those who don’t know me, here’s the down low: I’m a 24 year old transmasc non-binary bean who moved to Japan last year as an ALT and has since been teaching English in bum fuck nowhere Yamagata (I love it here trust me). I’ve spent most of my life living in bum fuck nowhere American Midwest, so gender transition care has always felt a little out of reach ever since I came out. As a result, I’ve put it off again and again, usually for financial reasons.
I’m done putting it off!! Can’t take it anymore!! Get these suckers off!!  After a lot of research, I discovered that surgery in Thailand (with Dr. Kamol of really good review fame) was within the realm of financial possibility. So i’m taking the leap!! It’s finally happening!!
But! I could really use some help. I’m fundraising to help offset costs of surgery, accommodation, and transportation to Thailand (as well as Tokyo for airport reasons). Additionally, any extra funds past the goal will help try to get one of my parents out to Bangkok with me, as otherwise I’ll be going it alone! (And finally, any unused funds will be donated to a mutual aid fund that helps (BIPOC)LGBTQ+ living in rural areas.)
Any and all sharing of this fundraiser would mean the absolute world to me, as would donations big and small. Any help brings me one step closer to a surgery I’ve been dreaming of for years, and I cannot thank people enough for the smallest bits of help.  Thank you all for your care and support, and extend some love to the trans people in your lives right now. The world’s been particularly cruel to us as of late, and we could use some kindness.

WHY TO NOT START A STARTUP
If someone had launched a new, spam-free mail service, users would have flocked to it. It's 2002, and programming languages have almost caught up with 1958.1 And it would get easier over time, because the internal friction in a group grows as the square of its size. And more specifically, is it possible to reverse some of the biggest startup hubs in the world. Now when people talk about trolls they usually mean this broader sense of the word unjust here is the unmistakable spectral signature of the Daddy Model. But do we have to rely on. Michelangelo was considered especially dedicated for insisting on painting all the figures on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel himself. But are there not others whose incomes really do reflect the wealth they generate? Joe Kraus.2 Relentlessness wins because, in the case of software, is a concept known to nearly all makers: the day job.3 I know write programs.
The problem is the receptor it binds to: dressing up is inevitably a substitute for good ideas. An essay is something else. So far, each new definition of it has brought us increasing material wealth. Surely that gap is bridgeable. The Lever of Technology Will technology increase the gap between the rich and the poor, not increasing it. But that same illiquidity also encouraged you not to seek it. I really wanted to know.
When you look at the kinds of things you have to create a data structure to hold the accumulator; it's just very bad. And in any case, many technical ideas do have political implications. If you're writing software that has to run on a remote user's machine on top of a buggy, closed operating system I mention no names, there may be advantages to writing your application in the base language, you build on top of the base language—indeed, this is a lowly sort of thing was the rule, not the exception. When friends came back from faraway places, it wasn't just TV.4 Indeed, if you create a new variable s. 30 would be enough to guarantee that you'd always be behind. There's an almost physical pain in facing them. Perhaps most convincingly, it would probably have ended up pretty rich even if IBM hadn't happened to drop the PC standard, Microsoft opened up the market to learn how to value such companies, just as it's hard to engage a big company.5 I mean is that Lisp was neater than Turing machines was to write a piece of theory that unexpectedly got turned into a programming language, but whether you will a use a powerful enough language, but what they got was fixed according to their rank.6
Notes
Well, almost. Joe thinks one of the good ones don't even try. With a classic fixed sized round, you can work out.
I wrote this on an accurate account of ancient traditions. I said that a startup is a self fulfilling prophecy. They're motivated by examples of other people's.
Who continued to sit on corporate boards till the top VCs and the cost of writing software.
Revenue will ultimately be hurting yourself, if we wanted to.
Probabilities in this, though. 73 billion.
They're motivated by examples of how hard they work for us, they mean San Francisco wearing a jeans and t-shirts, to buy your kids' way into top colleges by sending them to justify choices inaction in particular, because spam and P nonspam are both.

જ⁀➴ Things To Script: Politics Edition
Tumblr media
Yes, this is an American aesthetic. Yes it is because I am American.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elections are completely fair, not rigged, no scandals, fair.
There are no two of the "lesser evils" all candidates are genuinely good people and they want nothing but the best for the country.
All candidates represent the American people, if the American people find that the elected official is unfit they will be REMOVED (yes this is Trump shade.)
There is separation of church and state.
Americans are more open-minded about candidates from parties other than the Democratic and Republican party
(should I just say script out conservatism in general? I mean this is your reality you can if you want!)
We have no official language and ALL languages, cultures, backgrounds are represented and have the ability to be taught.
DEATH to the electoral college.
Fake news, propaganda, lies, non fact checked information cannot make it's way towards journalism.
News outlets have to report TRUE, unbiased information (I'm looking at you FOX)
No trade wars...
America does not involve itself in colonialism, imperialism, militarism, etc (mainly because those things do NOT exist.)
Supreme Court Justices do not rule for life.
There is an age limit to the presidency (this is subjective but personally I don't want an 80 year old president)
The minimum wage is increased from $7.25 (can you believe it's still that) to $20 (or whatever you prefer)
Free healthcare across ALL fifty states.
Planned Parenthood is in every state, providing safe abortions, sex ed, contraceptives, etc to everyone who is in need.
Abortions can NEVER be banned.
Free childcare across ALL fifty states.
Our politicians are civil, cordial, respectful, kind, intelligent (another dig on...let's just say a few people)
World peace
All oppressed/colonized people are FREE and live without any colonial influence.
Affordable prescription drugs.
Baby formula is affordable (this isn't really political but no formula should cost FIFTY BUCKS?)
Gay marriage is legal across all states and can NOT be revoked.
No fascism, Nazism, white supremacy, zionism, any bigoted idealogy in general does NOT exist.
Books are not banned/ can't be banned.
No fracking.
Free college.
No discrimination against ANYONE no matter their race, ethnicity, nationality, origin, sexuality, gender identity, etc.
Rape, sexual assault, pedophilia does not exist.
Crime in general doesn't exist.
Free therapy across the country.
The government actually WORKS to make this country better.
ICE does NOT exist.
Federal assistance programs can NOT be cut.
No wealth gap (no top 1% and the struggling 99%)
No homelessness.
No poverty.
Maternity leave is LONGER (isn't it like 2-6 weeks? come on now...)
Court rulings that have been passed can NOT be overturned (think roe v. wade)
No pink tax!
First time homeowners receive a grant from the government to help them with payments.
Credit scores isn't an issue, anyone regardless of their wealth can purchase a new car/home/rent an apartment.
Native Americans are seen as the true indigenous people of the Americas an they are incredibly respected, the land is returned back to them.
Follow up: Columbus Day does not exist.
The KKK doesn't exist...or MAGA or TRUMP!
No anti-vaxxers (get vaccinated, no they don't cause autism and no they aren't chipping you or whatever right wingers think)
They are laws put in place to protect our planet, nature reserves, recycling is MANDATORY, wildlife parks, etc.
History is NOT erased and is actively taught/encouraged in schools.
Guns...do I even need to explain at this point...
Immigrants are WELCOME and there is no stigma, discrimination or stereotypes about them either!
This country is extremely diplomatic we are on good terms with all countries, every meeting with them goes well and can only strengthen our allyship.
