NOW HEAR ME OUT i just think that WHILE kusuke was digging around in toritsuka's head, looking at all that impulsiveness and the honesty that only his little brother manages to force out of this piece of shit, wouldn't it just be SO kusuke to try to turn all those feelings tori has for kusuo back onto him... a little puppy crush, nothing kusuke would ever act on (obviously. he's better than that.). just something to leave tori itchy, to make him stare at kusuo and wonder why those feelings have started to ring unfamiliar, a little deja vu, because i think kusuke does, fundamentally, view tori as just another one of kusuo's toys. and if kusuke can't have what kusuo does, then he has to break it.

See, Andrew Lloyd Webber relates to the phantom in an incel, insecure musical genius, why don’t women love me, never got over his divorce from Sarah Brightman, kind of way which is pretty cringe and explains atrocities such as Love Never Dies.
I, on the other hand, relate to the phantom in a queer autistic with a lot of trauma and internalized shame, doesn’t always view myself as fully human, longing for connection but terrified of people and lacks social skills, hiding in my own little world and obsessing over my special interests, questionable impulse and emotional control, penchant for gothic melodrama and theatrics, the real gothic horror is your childhood trauma, kind of way, which, of course, is much more cool and sexy.
We are not the same.

If you had a chance to speak to almost-end-of-Solitaire Tori, what would you tell her?
To actually get some sleep.

i hate to say anything negative about the anti-colonialism movement, because it's undeniably a rightful one, but there's this gross tendency in it i rarely see people point out: a lot of people within it have this tendency to venerate indigenousness in a way that plays into the hands of xenophobic nationalists. the point of decolonising the world shouldn't be to be to replace imperialist states with monocultural ethnostates by othering or even kicking out everyone who 'doesn't belong there', it should be to create a multicultural world where people are free from prejudice

My other Kreese opinion is that if the writers want to give him a redemption arc it should involve Tory rather than Johnny tbh.
I just think that Johnny has already given Kreese a second chance he didn't deserve, only for Kreese to betray him again. Tory's relationship with Kreese, on the other hand, remains mostly positive and the reason why she was angry with him for giving up on getting out of prison was because she actually wants him around because he's one of the only adults who has been there for her in a meaningful way.

No 10 'looking into' voter ID rules after serviceman reportedly turned away from polling station
Downing Street has said it will "look into" voter ID rules after a serviceman was reportedly turned away from a polling station.
The serviceman claimed his veterans ID card wasn't considered eligible ID to vote.
Responding on X, veterans' affairs minister Johnny Mercer said: "The legislation on acceptable forms of ID came out before the veterans ID cards started coming out in January this year.
"I will do all I can to change it before the next one."
The prime minister's spokesperson reiterated that this form of ID was introduced "very, very recently".
"I think it's something that we will want to look into," the spokesperson said.
"There's already a very wide range of acceptable documents - including a free voter authority certificate - which is accepted at all polling stations so anyone who is eligible to vote can continue to do so."
However, the spokesperson said Downing Street had no concerns about voter ID more generally, adding: "We don't want to see anyone turned away from polling stations, we want everyone to be able to vote.
"Experience from the last local elections was that 99.75% of people were able to cast their vote successfully."
So when random minorities, random poor people and other people are being turned away, the Tory government doesn't give a shit about the Voter ID laws not working.
But when a Veteran is turned away, suddenly they give a fuck.
Colour me surprised.

101 Things You Should Know About The UK Tory Government
Thing 91
Unelected, multi-millionaire Rishi Sunak may have appointed a new Tory Party Chairman, Greg Hands, after being forced to sack his last appointee for breaking the Ministerial Code, but nothing has really changed. Sunak’s new appointee is as hypocritical and as self-serving as Nadhim Zahawi.
Hands was an ardent supporter of Rishi Sunak when Sunak ran for the leadership of the Conservative Party, and as such was highly critical of Liz Truss and her economic policies
However, once Truss had won the election race he had one of those “road to Damascus" moments, and became a true believer in Truss economic policy. (A policy that some economist have calculated cost the UK £30 bn)
“Mr Hands has defended her high growth, low tax strategy since her election as leader after criticising it in July.” (Telegraph: 09/10/22)
I am sure that his conversion to Trussonmics, had nothing to do with her giving him a job within her short-lived government. Others have been less generous.
“Nick Robinson Tells Minister Greg Hands: "You Are Insulting People's Intelligence."
Clearly you cannot support two opposing economic policies at the same time. Well, not unless you indulge in Orwellian “doublethink" whereby a person accepts two mutually contradictory thoughts as correct without being aware or troubled by the glaring contradiction between them.
But we don’t really need to look for such a complicate explanation for Hands behaviour. Essentially, he is a typical Tory: conservatives who are as concerned with feathering own nest as they are in serving the people they are supposed to represent.
A prime example of this is the fact Hands worked as a “political consultant” to BNP Paribus UK, Frances largest bank. As such he was making more money than as an MP.
“At the end of December ( 2018) Hands listed his salary in the Register of Members Interests: he’s getting £9,000 a month. That’s £108,000 a year. An MP’s salary is £77,379. So Hands is being paid more for being an adviser to BNP Paribas than he is to represent his London constituents. Hands says that he will “earn” his £9,000 a month with just 16 hours work a month — an hourly rate of £562.” (Morning Star: date unknown)
It is good to know that the new Conservative Party Chairman, like his predecessor, is a man of robust, unwavering principles and selfless duty to his constituents.
