Hello, my darlings. Here is an angsty teaser snippet for Part V, as promised. This will be the final part of this series and this chapter is all about the EMOTION. Don't get me wrong, there will be spice too, but this is all about Neteyam & Neyomi's (reader) journey coming to a final head. Thank you to all of you precious people who are still following this & supporting me with all your reactions. You mean the world to me. 😘

“Thanks for everything today. Thanks for listening.” You shot your best friend an appreciative smile, “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

Tula’s answer was a smile and a wink, but her face twisted into an unimpressed grimace when she looked to the front of the platform again, “Better work fast, babe. Silwey looks like she’s got dessert on her mind tonight.”

Sure enough, you saw Silwey whispering into Neteyam’s ear when you cast another glance over your shoulder. It was now or never. You needed to get Neteyam alone tonight and you were going to swallow your pride and tell him everything; tell him you were in love with him...

Dusting your hands off, you rose to your feet, intent for the throng of people gathered at the front. With a deep breath, you focused on your objective.

Neteyam was speaking to four women, all smiles and laughter as they conversed. You managed to place yourself in a gap between two of them, just big enough for you to slip into without needing to push anyone. It placed you directly in his line of sight, but if you thought he was going to acknowledge you, even out of courtesy, given there were others surrounding him, watching him, you were wrong.

Mild irritation flared in your gut and you continued to look at him, trying to catch his eye. However, Neteyam’s gaze studiously avoided yours while he spoke in turn to the others, even quirking a small smile at Silwey when she leant her cheek against his shoulder. Your distress was sharp behind your sternum at the sight, but you were determined.

You cleared your throat audibly, causing a lull in the conversation as the women turned to look at you. You seized the opportunity, “Excuse me. Neteyam can I have a moment? I need to speak to you.”

Finally, for the first time that day, his amber orbs clashed with your own. There was no warmth in them though, no emotion. Just pure impassiveness that sent a dreadful shudder through you.

“If it’s about work, it can wait until tomorrow morning.” Neteyam’s response was clipped.

His icy demeanour was cutting. You’d expected him to be upset, but not like this, not cold and unfeeling. “It’s not work-related, but it’s important.”

“Sorry. I’ve got plans tonight. I’ll catch you another time.” More callous brusqueness.

This was an unexpected hurdle. You hadn’t expected his refusal to speak to you. You’d prepared for his upset and for his anger, but not for his complete disregard. A painful lump was forming in your throat and you swallowed it down tightly.

Keeping a tight rein on the brewing storm of your emotions beneath the surface, you maintained your careful mask of composure and tried again, “Neteyam, please. I only need a few moments.”

“No. I’ve got other plans.” It was a clear dismissal.

You weren’t going to beg, not in front of everyone. You would swallow your pride, but not to that extent.

Silwey was frowning at you, displeasure colouring her features, and the other women appeared uncomfortable at the awkward exchange. The telltale hot flush of humiliation was beginning to tingle and burn on the skin of your face and you regarded Neteyam’s hard gaze one final time before you turned and excused yourself from the group.

The world around you turned surreal, the noise of the gathered clan becoming a dull hum as you padded on numb feet back the way you came. You could feel your composure beginning to fracture, the storm within you threatening to spill, and with the first breath that hitched painfully in your chest, you broke into a sprint in the direction of your home shelter.

You needed somewhere safe and away from prying eyes for the dam to burst…

Your eyes stung and your vision blurred with the arrival of your tears. An onslaught of sobs came next and you tore the sun lily blooms from your hair as you ran, pawing at the wetness streaming from your eyes.

Evidently what had happened last night at the shack had been the last straw for Neteyam. You cried at the unfairness of it all.

You finally had a chance to love him, but it now seemed that Neteyam was unwilling to grant it to you…

So I had a thought. About Cerdian.

In case y'all don't know, "sea-changed" is a term from aquaman lore. It refers to atlanteans who are mutated by their environment. As if their adaptations developed differently from the standard "human-passing" people of Poseidonis. Think like Lagoon Boy, or King Shark sometimes.

The term was technically only established in the rebirth run, but the idea is much older then that. Obviously. Lagoon Boy is from the 90s. They live in the slums outside of the capital city.

But what does this have to do with Cerdian? Well, his mother is the character Dolphin!

Originally, she was a human experimented on by aliens, given abilities similar to atlanteans. But in rebirth, she was retconned to a Sea changed atlantean. Her hands and feet are covered in blue scales, and she's got claws and webbed fingers and toes. But she has this camouflage ability to look human.

She can also produce bright flashes of light, and write in the water with her light like little neon signs (helpful because she's mute again).

Now, of course Cerdian was created before the reboot. As were most of the fan works he's used in. So this wouldn't have been on anyone's mind.

But now he's Canon again. Sorta.

So now I'm wondering... if his mom is sea changed, would Cerdian also be? Or his sister Tula (if she exists in yalls AUs)?

Tula already has a weird then-unexplained green scaly arm in kingdom come. (Though, some sources say she shape-shifts. Either way, theres no explanation).

What if Cerdian has webbed fingers and toes. Scales on his hands and feet, or in other places he's embarrassed about. Weird little fins. Hell, he could even have Dolphin's camouflage ability to hide these weirder features when he feels its necessary.

And I'm also reminded of Teen Titans year one, where Garth has gray skin for some reason.

Maybe Cerdian's scales are gray. Could also be an excuse for abilities completely unique to him, rather then those inherited from his parents. Or he could have Dolphin's rebirth abilities in addition to Garth's magic.

SAINT MATRONA THE BLIND OF MOSCOW ( 1952)

Saint Matrona’s life began not in the bustling streets of Moscow but three hundred kilometers south, in the heart of the Tula province. Here, on the eastern edge of the legendary Kulikovo Field, where the Russian army defeated the Mongol-Tatars in 1380, on the right bank of the River Mokraya lies the quaint village of Sebino. It whispers of even older times, echoing the “Sebinskii Les,” a primeval forest that once belonged to a noble Tatar named Sebin Bibik, according to local lore. The Bibikov family, it is said, traces its lineage back to him. Sebino embraces a beautiful Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, with a chapel dedicated to the revered Prince Alexander Nevsky.

he Assumption Church has a rich history marked by significant events. During World War II, the village faced destruction at the hands of the Nazi Germans. Today, the exact location of the house where the revered Mother Matrona spent her early years remains unknown. According to local elders, Matrona’s parents, Dmitry and Natalia Nikonov, resided near the church at the heart of the village. A monument now stands at the presumed site of her family home. In 2002, a second chapel was consecrated at the Dormition Church in honor of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow.

Matronushka, as she was lovingly called, was a late child. She was born in 1885 and was a late child in a humble peasant family already blessed with three children: Maria, Mikhail, and Ivan. Initially considering placing the unborn child in Prince Golitsyn’s orphanage in a neighbouring village, Natalia had a dream one night. A white bird with a human face and closed eyes landed on her right hand. Interpreting this as a divine sign, Natalia, a God-fearing woman, kept the child when she was born blind.

The mother’s love for her “unfortunate child” only grew when she noticed a cross-shaped protrusion on the infant’s chest, believed to be an uncreated protective cross. During the child’s baptism by Priest Vasily Troitsky, who named her Matrona in honor of the ascetic Matrona of Constantinople from the 5th century, another sign of the girl’s divine election occurred: a pillar of light mist rose over the font, accompanied by a fragrant scent, leaving everyone present in awe. HIEROMARTYR PAPNUTHIUS OF JERUSALEM

Hieromartyr Paphnutius of Jerusalem was a bishop. He underwent many sufferings from the pagans and, was tortured by fire wild beasts, and finally, was beheaded by the sword.

Some suggest that the hieromartyr Paphnutius was an Egyptian bishop and suffered together with many other Egyptians, exiled to the Palestinian mines during the persecution by Diocletian (284-305).

The myrrh-streaming relics of the hieromartyr were glorified by miracles. The Canon in his honor was composed during the Iconoclast period (before 842). In the final Ode is a petition for the hieromartyr to put an end to the heresy disrupting the Church.

The target audience of this movie are teenagers, young adults, and adults that are a fan of the genres romantic and coming-of-age movies. This film was directed by Jason Paul and produced by Viva Films and became a part of the 2017 Pistang Pelikulang PIlipino. The purpose of this media is to promote a movie that wants to talk about a person who didn't get to tell the person that they like about their feelings. The main message of this poster is to show how hard is it to express your love to the person you like especially when you are apart from each other. The codes that they used are symbolic codes for the chairs that are distant together to represent the distance of the two characters. Thr poster really gives a good representation of the movie's romantic feels.

II. The song I chose is "Ako Naman Muna" by Angela Ken. The target audience of this song is for those people who are going through tough times. Especially to those people who is usually the one taking the extra step to be there for other people and forgot to take care of themselves. This song is written and sang by Angela Ken and was produced under ABS-CBN Star Music. This song aims to give people a reminder that it is okay to prioritize yourself and giving yourself a break. The main message of this song is to give yourself time to heal and take care of yourself first before anything else. One of the codes that they used is wirtten codes for the line like "pagod na akong maging sandalan." Which means that they are tired being the one who's always there taking care of other people. The slow beat of the song really gives that sentimental feeling to match with the meaning of the song. 

III. The music video I chose is "Ang Huling El Bimbo" of the Eraserheads. The target audience of this M.V. are adults or older generations that are big fans of good storytelling videos. The producer of this M.V. is BMG Records and it was directed by Mark Meily. This M.V. aims to tell a sad story about their past regrets and how life is very unpredictable. The main message of this M.V. is to show that time can change so many things and how it doesn't always go your way but there are very unpredictable moements in life that can cause regret. One of the codes that they used is written codes for the title. it means that El Bimbo is the last dance they they danced together. The dramatic feels of this video really helps with the storytelling of the song.
