EXTENDED - The Fool Who Got Married
Tumblr media
The Year is 1848...
...and gold has been struck in California. Your husband has decided now would be the time to catch his fortune, and he wants you to come with him. Of course. you agree, you love him after all.
...and your family member's husband is on the hunt for gold. What's she going to do? Say no? This could be the key to their better life. You have to let her go.
The Extended Edition...
...allows you to play one of five different types of characters.
The game is about historical female hardship and how women stay connected even when they become members of their husbands family before their own.
The game and story is told through writing letters. This is a two- or more- player game where each person plays a female familial archetype. Someone has to be the bride leaving her family, but there are four options for the other player(s).
The Four Options:
Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Mother-in-Law
Gameplay
This game is played by using music as the storytelling and mechanical device. To play you will need a way to send letters to each other, access to the albums, and something to write with.
Let The Music Lead You.
Music You Will Need Access To: The Crane Wives discography and Through the Deep, Dark Valley by The Oh Hellos.

Targi Written Review
New Review on the Blog
Targi from KOSMOS
This is an older two player only game that my wife and I finally tried out and totally fell in love with. It gives you a big game feel in a small package.

Tandy has to play a video game with Tyrone to save him in the season's least believable storyline and even Adina's moment with Father Francis can't save this tepidity.

Had my sister over after Goldeneye dropped on NSO and here's some of the results and awards we got (I'm on bottom screen). Nah, knowing me, these all make very much sense. I should have her over and play again.

Excerpt from my new Steddie wip
Read full fic here
“Since you’re Grammy nominated artists now, I think We all know that’s going to open you up to a lot more people. Any celebrity crushes you’re hoping to meet?”
The guys all shot pointed looks at Eddie, Jeff being the first to say “Eddie has a huge crush on this one NHL goalie.”
Eddie felt his face slide into a pleased grin as he nodded. “Steve Harrington. Toronto Maple Leafs.”
The interviewers eyebrow crooked. “Oh yeah? You a big hockey fan.”
His mouth opened but Gareth beat him to it “No, you don’t understand. He had never watched a full game before this in his whole life. The only things he knows about hockey is what has to do with Steve.”
“Eddie, what’s a breakaway?” Jeff asks
Eddie shrugged. “No clue, dude.” Genuinely having no ideas what that meant.
“How many shutouts did Steve have last season?”
With no hesitation, “Five.”

Woah hold on hold on, if some systems are able to somewhat independently control both hands without having to do the full mental work and training usually associated with that, then do I have a challenge for yoth:
youtube
If this is possible, I'm excited to see a plural boom in the 2-player Geometry Dash scene and others in the next decade or so. Wonder if they'll even have to make a new rule or separate leaderboard if it turns out it's too much of an advantage 😆
Like I'm imagining a singlet in 2029 looking up tulpamancy guides and considering permanently altering (pun intended) their brain partly just in order to stay competitive.
Not plural myself but Im kinda curious about something: for systems that share memories, is it possible to play games with one another? 🤔 I have chess in my head right now but just about anything turn based would work I guess. I feel like head mates who share memories would also remember each others’ strategy, which Im curious if it would make the game boring or add layers to it somehow. (maybe you could put it up to a poll?)
We've played chess before. It's fun but weird.
You need to make the best move but if you plan too far ahead then the opponent knows all your plans.
You'd probably be better off with games with some random elements but no hidden information to make long-term strategies too difficult.
One game that worked pretty well for us is called Dice Forge.
Tumblr media
There are strategic elements but the randomness of the dice throws a wrench into any ideas of planning too far ahead.
Co-op games are really ideal though.
A favorite of ours is Sentinels of the Multiverse:
Tumblr media
This is a co-op game designed for 3-5 players to take on a single villain and is perfect for systems wanting a fun game to play with each other.
Stepping away from turn-based stuff, you should know that we've also used partial possession to play games like Fireboy and Watergirl with each player controlling a different hand.
There are actually a lot of different ways headmates can play games together! 😁
