The Future of the U.S. in the Next 3 Years: A Perspective from Western, Vedic, and Chinese Astrology

I’d like to share some insights about the U.S. over the coming three years, based on Western, Vedic, and Chinese astrology.

The recent U.S. presidential inauguration occurred under a significant astrological transit—Sun conjunct Pluto—during the country’s Pluto return. This brings a double dose of Pluto’s energy into play.

The Sun represents the government and its leader, while Pluto represents something very karmic and transformative, as well as nuclear power and what it symbolizes. Astrologer Joni Patry notes that when Pluto was discovered, humanity also discovered nuclear energy. It’s no coincidence that Pluto’s influence often signifies massive transformation.

Since the inauguration marks the birth chart of the current presidential term, this alignment suggests that the U.S. government will undergo a Pluto-like transformation. Combined with the country’s ongoing Pluto return, these changes could reshape the nation’s foundations.

From a Chinese astrology perspective, we’re currently in a 20-year fire cycle, with the next three years carrying an extremely strong fire element. Since fire is intangible, this element can signify things that are intangible, such as spirituality and artificial intelligence. However, fire also represents wars.

Trump has stated his intent to stop wars, but this may prove challenging. Interestingly, Trump’s Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny chart suggests that the fire element supports him, bringing him good fortune until 2027. Since a leader's fortune is closely tied to their country, this implies the U.S. will remain strong. This perspective contrasts with the common assumption that periods of deep transformation are typically full of chaos and lows. It will be interesting to see how things unfold.

Given that whatever happens in the U.S. has a global impact, we need to pay close attention.

(This post is written purely to share astrological info so we can brainstorm together and prepare for the future, with no intention of advocating for or against any politician)

P.S. Many countries' charts indicate difficulties in the coming three years. To be honest, I have no idea how to prepare for this brewing global transformation, even though I want to. Any insights are welcome.

Paramount Global, amid a swirl of M&A discussions, is laying off about 800 employees worldwide — an estimated 3% of its headcount — as it looks to trim costs. CEO Bob Bakish announced the layoffs in a memo Tuesday to staff that was obtained by Variety. According to the memo, U.S. employees being laid off will be informed by the close of business Tuesday; international staff members will be notified “over time in line with our local legal obligations in each of the countries where we operate.” Bakish’s memo did not specify how many employees of the company are being let go. But sources confirmed about 800 are getting cut across all divisions of the company, including at CBS, Paramount Pictures, Paramount+, Pluto TV, Showtime and cable networks including BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and MTV. In the memo, Bakish touted the company’s “blockbuster” Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday — the most-watched telecast in history — which “showcased the full power of Paramount.” The CEO also cited a “big slate of new and returning primetime programming on CBS” and gave a shout-out to Jon Stewart’s return to Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” on Monday (on a weekly basis).

I saw your post about Pluto being in Aquarius and old systems being replaced with new ones in relation to capitalism. I, myself constantly saw and heard the phrase that it is easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism. I saw it in literature that I read, fiction about the end of the world, but capitalism kept on keeping on. This pissed me off. So I examined what capitalism was at its core, a system of commerce that benefits those with capital. And I decided that power being held in the hand of the few was the problem. I decided that workers should own the businesses, not the state or the capitalists. I made a word for this. Laborism. A system of commerce that benefits the workers. Workers collectively own the business. There would be at most, 30% of the business for stock investors, but voting shares would remain within the workers. When I write this word laborism, a red line appears beneath it telling me I must have misspelled it because that word does not exist. But I’m going to make it exist. This approach does not need state intervention. It just needs new businesses to be made in this fashion and for old businesses to be bought up by worker trusts. I wanted to share this idea with you because you work in this space with these ideas. I wanted to know what you thought of it

I like your perspective, your idea of "laborism" seems to reflect historical movements that advocated for workers rights and ownership. I would think the concept of collective business ownership would empower workers and address the inequities that are often found in traditional capitalist systems. I often wonder what the U.S. would be like without capitalism. I think there would be a significant shift, but I believe humanity could adapt. However, there would need to be some kind of structure in place.

I often wish we could return to bartering again; essentially, providing value for our others with our skills. I think it would give people a much-needed sense of purpose, as opposed to slaving away for literally no reason other than to put money in an oligarch's pocket. When I was on Facebook, I was a part of this group called “Buy Nothing” and similar communities. While it wasn't strictly bartering, it focused on helping those in need. If you had something of value that someone else needed, you would give it away for free.

However, for this new reality to become possible, humanity would need to unlearn centuries of individualistic culture. We have been conditioned to prioritize our own needs above the collective good, and this mindset has significantly hindered progress in America. Rebuilding will likely take time, but I believe many people find it easier to imagine drastic changes in other areas than to rethink entrenched economic systems. But by focusing on empowering workers instead of relying on state intervention, you're proposing a grassroots approach that could foster innovation and sustainability in business practices.

It might be helpful to explore existing models of worker cooperatives and similar frameworks to see how they function and their successes or challenges. This could provide a foundation for your concept and help you refine the idea. But I like your idea, and I think it could be of value.

Pluto in Aquarius & the future of the U.S.A:

It doesn't surprise me that the current planetary hour is Mercury because I started having an inner dialogue in my head relating to astrological observations I wanted to share, lol.

**Disclaimer**: Mundane astrology, the astrology of world events and politics, isn't my specialty.

Everyone who wants to see a massive change in the world should take heart because Pluto is in Aquarius, and the last time Pluto was in Aquarius the French Revolution happened. The upcoming 20 years will be absolutely fascinating to witness. Predictions of events/things (logically and astrologically) to manifest during this Pluto in Aquarius transit include cyborgs, more viral pandemics (the outer planets meeting up, aka conjuncting, in the air signs), and (I hope) the transformation of government and society.

The U.S. will start its Uranus Return (in Gemini) in 2025, and this will last until around 2033. Uranus takes around 84 years to "return", meaning "return" to the sign & degree it was in when something was born. In this case, when a country was born. The War of Independence/Revolutionary War was going on in the background when the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, declaring the American colonies to be its own country. The next Uranus Return was the Civil War. And the latest one coincided with WW2. So something big is in the cards for the United States of America.

What I find fascinating and a little scary is that according to Capricorn Research Astrology, an astrologer I greatly respect and admire, Donald Trump is the past reincarnation of King Louis XVI of France, the king who was guillotined. I don't recall all the history, but that was about the start of the French Revolution. His wife was the infamous Marie Antoinette, to whom the quote, "Let them eat cake," was inaccurately attributed.

Capricorn Research Astrology believes that Donald Trump will win the presidential election in November as Joe Biden's transits aren't as promising. Based on what Trump's plans are for America (ex. national abortion ban for starters), it wouldn't surprise me that the country would regress and become a chaotic place to live in, starting in 2025 when he is inaugurated.

Not trying to get political, this is just my Mercury in Aquarius (chart ruler) explaining in a detached way how I think things might play out... Also, disclaimer: I am American.

setting the scene- pluto first entered capricorn on january 25th, 2008. retrograde sent it back to sagittarius for a few months over the summer (6/14/08 - 11/25/08) and 11/26/08 and beyond, it's been pluto in capricorn. pluto is currently in its final degree of capricorn. we had brief previews of pluto in aquarius (3/23/23 - 6/11/23 and 1/20/24 - 9/1/24), and from the afternoon of 11/19/24 forward, we will be in pluto in aquarius until 2043.

Wow crazy! What's Pluto's deal?

what does it mean for pluto to be in capricorn? pluto is the planet of transformation, destruction, rebirth, hidden truths, generational/societal shifts, and it's currently in capricorn, the sign of practicality, hard work/professional ambition, and leadership. capricorn, the zodiac's father figure. the merger of the two means slow-moving and long-lasting change in life/career path, family/societal structures (i.e patriarchy), financial systems, so on. pretty telling that we started this transit with a global financial crisis and now we're......here! posts circulate periodically about empires lasting ~250 years, which is about as long as it takes for a pluto return. if we're taking the US to have been "born" on 7/4/1776, the US' natal pluto placement is capricorn! never in the history of the US has pluto been back into its birth sign of capricorn until 2008. this placement means the US's foundation is one of these qualities listed above- built on patriarchy, conservatism, so on. this pluto return was technically in 2022 (around 27 degrees capricorn) and the effects could be felt +/- a few years on each side, since pluto moves so slowly. i think most would say the US (as we've known it) has been forced to confront the ugly sides of its foundations since 2020!
