I'm gonna laugh if this "ban TikTok bill" goes through.

I never liked TikTok. Or Vine, for that matter. I find them to be inferior to YouTube and other video-hosting services (they exist) in almost every way. But then, I never understood the "video shorts recorded in vertical aspect" craze to begin with.

This is going to be impossible to enforce, thanks to the million different VPN companies out there which can easily and affordably spoof (or falsify) one's location in the world. A lot of them even specifically tell you how to use their service in conjunction with TikTok.

There's a lot… a lot… of money coming in from TikTok ad revenue. Even channels like Fox News, whose staff is staunchly against TikTok, runs adverts for TikTok because money-money-money.

Everyone "important" is on TikTok. "Influencers", presidential candidates, and even our current US president have accounts that are either run by or run for them. This despite the fact that our resident president said he'd sign the "ban TikTok" bill if the senate and house pass it. Hilarious.

Best of luck, US government. You're gonna need it. 🫡

Another KOSA update:

Sadly, it is true that today, 04/10/2024, KOSA has been introduced to the House BUT! That doesn’t mean it’s game over just yet!

Proof:

Friendly reminder that there is much less support for KOSA in the House than the Senate. And even if it does pass the House—God forbid, it’s not over until the President signs it.

Here is the phone number for the Committee that’ll be holding the hearing on April 17th (Use the top number), and of course keep calling your Senators & House Representative.

I know this is scary for a lot of people, but we have to keep fighting. Please spread this around & don’t give up!

Frank once had to beg for resources just to paint the house and Bill was reluctant because he didn’t understand it.

At the end of their lives, we see Frank’s paintings everywhere, all over their house and town. Which means that he not only was able to get Bill to see the importance of maintaining art and beauty, but that Bill went out of his way to make sure Frank always had paint on hand.

That just goes to show the strength of their love and Bill’s character development. One of the most romantic queer media pieces I’ve ever watched. Beautiful, gutting, perfect.

In regards to KOSA:

While it is true that Congress does return from recess Feb. 26th, that doesn’t automatically mean they’ll immediately jump into voting.

The bill only has enough support to pass the Senate—it’ll most likely stall at the House; both due to it having much less support there & how disorganized the House currently is. Even if it does pass—God forbid, the President would have to sign it for it to be official and even then, it’ll likely take several months before it goes into effect.

…That being said, please continue to call both your Senators & especially your House representative; We still don’t even have a concrete date for a vote—You can visit the website pictured to even see for yourself.
